Back in May, Mia, Iona and I dressed in Taisho Roman inspired outfits to go visit the Matuo Hiromi exhibition at Hotel Gajoen Tokyo, an historical hotel known for its long staircase and gorgeous ceilings. Afterwards, we went to Three Tiers for tea (but honestly, I just got the carrot cake because it was way too hot for tea).

We took so many pictures that day, so I'll have to separate them in two posts (the Gajoen pictures are in my Instagram post). The first picture was taken with a self-timer, while my camera was propped on an aircon on the other side of the street lol.

My outfit consists of an Axes Femme yukata under a second-hand Victorian Maiden skirt with various thrifted and vintage accessories. Mia and Iona's outfits are mainly vintage.

Butterfly and Wisteria. This hair ornament has five branches of silk wisteria flowers which create an elegant flow of cascading violet gradient petals. Each of the 97 petals is hand-painted using habutae silk, folded, and "pinched" in traditional tsumami method.

Beautiful fabric patterns on kimono make me smile.😊🌺💮🌸✨ Realized I forgot to post this Nendography from August 2022.

Figure photoshoot for Good Smile Company's figure photography contest for Smile Fest 2022 (8/6-7/2022). The contest theme was "things that make me smile".

In August 2022, I was afraid to post this outside of Twitter, because this contest was only for Twitter, and GoodSmile contests usually have to verify that entries are not stealing from other people's past social media posts. We're allowed to post our entries on our other social media, but I thought it would be less confusing for the contest managers if I didn't. I told myself I'd post this pic after the contest was over, but then I forgot until now.

8/5/2022. Nendoroid maiko Holy Quintet (Puella Magi Madoka Madoka): Homura Akemi, Madoka Kaname, Kyoko Sakura, Sayaka Miki, Mami Tomoe. Decorative stones from Michaels's floral decor department. Artificial grass squares from Daiso. Scrapbook paper of clouds/sky from Hobby Lobby.

I forgot to include this as a candidate to use in my Art Summary 2022.

Homura fell down several times and her hair was damaged, scraped against the decorative stones. Thankfully, I managed to re-paint her hair without much notice.

The art market I went to this past weekend had a lot of really cool offerings. I wish I had the funds to buy everything I saw, alas. It was very difficult to choose from all the stalls that were there (80 different artists attended). In the end, I purchased a tote bag and three prints for my Chaos Wall from Sir Gregory & Co., three shop illustration prints from Zenti Designs, a linocut of Chaotic Good Designs' Cat, Jon Snow, an upcycled bag from Kimono Yamamoto, an illustrated book for my partner's goddaughter from La Source Australia, and a silver boundary bracelet from Mill Foundry.

There were just too many excellent artists, though. I was a bit overwhelmed on the day. I hope everyone did really well with their stalls, there seemed to be a lot of people just being drawn in via local foot traffic when we were leaving to venue.

High quality problem: my dnd group is extremely chill and good with me wearing kimonos. Sensory issues were overwhelming the day of the last game and I was like fuck it I’ve already settled into these comfy PJs I’m not taking them off I’m putting a yukata on over them (since you wear a base layer under em already and I already just wear PJs under yukatas anyway usually). And it was well received and one of them told me to wear my jellyfish one this time cuz I mentioned it so I am. So now I have an actual opportunity to wear kimonos regularly… which means I’m theoretically allowed to buy more kimonos…
