Shmi Skywalker hunts down Jango Fett, drags him before the nearest legal authority, names him the father of her one million children, and gets them married so she can have custody of all of them, including Boba. The entire GAR are now citizens of Naboo. So is Jango. Palpatine is having daily fights with Queen Jamillia over the legality of it all and we must have our army back. Jango is fending off assassins that are coming after his new wife, not because he likes her or appreciates her interfering in his business, but because if he lets her die it's a professional smear he will never be able to live down.

Leia, Anakin, Padmé, and Obi-Wan are all enraged. Jango cannot be in the Skywalker clan. He has committed Offenses against them.

Shmi is undeterred. It is his penance. She is looking after her boys.

Do you know or think any of the past Halloween events will rerun? Like “Terror is Trending” or “Spectral Soirée”? Cause I wanna know the plots of those and maybe play through them since I joined the game late, but I’m not sure if they’ll rerun at this point

I HOPE so, the second Halloween event is still probably my favorite! (it's just. peak non-main Twst content. everyone is so ridiculous and it's so delightful.) the way they've been doing it though has been to rerun the previous year's Halloween event and then the new one, so Eng probably won't be getting those first two events again anytime soon. :( if you're okay with just watching them for the story, your best bet is probably to look up a playthrough of them on YouTube. just make sure it has the ending rhythmics, they both had super cute ones!

Eng sometimes does things differently than JP though, and I think there's been a bit of an influx of new players to both versions lately? so one or both might decide to do a big rerun at some other point in the year! or they might just start rotating Halloween events or something now that they have four of 'em. :U I admit, I do kinda hope that they rerun just so I can try to get that ONE Scary Monsters card I'm missing...please Twst...I just need one more...

I am full fucking steam ahead with the arranged marriage fic this week and having a blast. It's an absolute anachronism stew of, like: fantasy geography! but also a default assumption of sexuality in this world being bi/pan/mspec rather than straight! but also arranged marriages! but also internet!—world-building is my nemesis so we are one hundred percent just rolling with it, okay? Okay.

“Good afternoon, Queen Mary,” he says, rehearsed and careful. There’s a time and a place for his usual brand of irreverence, and even Alex knows this isn’t it. “Your kingdom has offered me such a warm welcome.” “Yes, they have.” Mary doesn’t exactly seem thrilled about that, which is rude. Alex is a fucking catch, actually. “It would appear that my people are excited for this wedding to go ahead. But are you? Does the prospect of finally being married to my grandson please you?” And how the fuck is Alex meant to answer such a direct question without kicking off a whole international incident? He can’t tell the truth, but neither can he bring himself to say what he knows she wants to hear. After a long, terrifying pause in which Alex is sure the entirety of both their families are staring at him, waiting for a response, he finally manages: “Our betrothal has been overlong, Your Majesty. I will be pleased to make Windsor my new home.” Mary purses her lips. “Indeed,” is all she says in reply, a clear dismissal and a sign for the receiving line to keep moving.

Future steddie fic where corroded coffin had a brief stint in their early years but never made it big big and eventually they settled down and were happy with their respective partners every so often getting together to play a few shows.

Then modern day catches onto their music and Eddie's story and they end up going viral. It's super awesome to get so much notoriety and they even are looking to potentially go on tour again. There's just one big problem.

Eddie and Steve have kids.

Eddie could promise to the cows come home that he is only going to be gone for a few weeks, a month tops, but Steve doesn't care. He's adamant that he will not give eddie approval to go (he can go if he wants but Steve is not going to say he's okay with it) and they get into some pretty big arguments over it because this was Eddie's dream, and Steve thinks their family should be the focus not Eddie's dreams.

Eventually Eddie decides he's doing it regardless of what Steve feels (both of them not really listening and just being stuck in how they feel) and Steve tells Eddie that if he does this he isn't coming back to them.

He can go stay with Wayne or the boys or whoever, but Steve refuses to raise his kids in a house with a parent who will leave anytime they decide their work matters more than their children.

While I of course don't advocate for child marriage- ie marriage below age 18, and really I think 20+ is wiser -the whole "date around or you're Wasting Your Youth!!!" narrative pisses me off, like I said. I grew up with that shoved down my throat to the point where I believed my own desires to just meet the right girl and stay with her forever were just youthful romanticism; that I'd "mature" and want to date more people instead of wanting to settle down. (And for some people that is the trajectory! And that's fine! Just...not everyone.)

When your mother got so lost in the Swinging Sixties sauce during her own teen years that she goes too far the opposite way of most parents, I guess?

Yeah, someone might regret a young marriage. But they might regret ANY marriage- that's just a risk you take when you get married. Trusting people to know their own minds in relationships that present no actual red flags is important, even for teenagers. Teaching young people not to trust their own (harmless) emotions and desires for their lives because it doesn't match what you'd have them do seems horribly backwards to me. It's a dangerous precedent to set for them.

When I was 16, I thought I'd be perfectly happy if I married a girl I met at that age- when we were older, of course. Now I'm 30, and guess what? I still think that. I would have been satisfied. Hell, I wish that had happened. It's not right for everybody, but it would have been right for me.

i hope this is not trigger warning but do you think viserys and aemma consumating the marriage after 2 years was likely viserys putting imense ammounts of pressure on aemma to "do her duty" and abuse her like drogo does with daenerys in agot? the way he pressured aemma with so much pregnancies i think he started pressuring her right after they married and thats so horrible and monstruous to think about because i dont think anyone would care if viserys "consumated" (read: rape) the marriage right after and then aemma develops some sort of stockolm syndrome like daenerys does for drogo and thinks that is what real love is like, everyone failed aemma so much.

if were comparing it to main series characters i think its probably closer to when sansa got her first period. that now shes a “woman” shes expected to consummate her marriage and start giving her husband children. i think the initial pressure was less from viserys himself and more the situation as a whole. aemma being taken away from her family, with no one on her side to look out for her, married to someone older than her and being told she doesnt have to yet, but she will be expected to sleep with him eventually. like what is aemma supposed to do? what is she supposed to think? i think youre right about the stockholm syndrome-type thing. that like dany, aemma *had* to learn to accept the situation she was in. if she couldnt, it would break her. unlike dany, aemma had two years to get to know (be groomed by) viserys before she had to start having sex with him. you spend enough time around someone and you will eventually find things about them you like, it was these little things aemma clung too. to convince herself she loved viserys, and that he loved her.

i say i dont think it was viserys himself necessarily pressuring aemma *into* sex, because it wouldve been made clear to him when hes told about his marriage to aemma that shes still a child. that hell have to wait until shes "flowered" to consummate their marriage. and thats just like, a law of the land he lives in. that girls are children until they get their period (and theres not really a ‘point’ in him sleeping with aemma before he can get her pregnant)

by the time aemma does get her period shes been so groomed into her position that she just kinda… accepts it
