I'm still in full hat making mode and loving it. This design is so practical as it can be worn three ways. Long as a slouchy, or rolled back as a beanie … it’s also reversible. 😃👍
[Scene: Beth, age 14, has just returned from hanging out at a friend's house...]
Beth: "We played games on their Wii. I almost won at waterboarding."
Mom: "At what??"
Beth: "Waterboarding."
Mom: "That's a Wii game??"
Me: "Ummm. I don't remember torture being one of the Wii sports, but maybe your friends have some more... interesting... games."
Beth: "Oh, wait. Not waterboarding. Wakeboarding?"
Mom: "That makes more sense."
Beth: "What is waterboarding?"
Me: "It's a kind of torture where you get strapped to a board and have water poured over your face so you feel like you're drowning. I've heard it is pretty brutal."
Mom: "I know there are some really edgy video games out there but I don't think even Nintendo could make waterboarding a family-friendly sport."
Me: "If they did, you absolutely know some people would be horrified and other people would play it nonstop."
Mom: "If your friends ever ask you over for waterboarding, I suggest you say no."
