You finally meet the music director, and honestly? He’s kind of a jerk.

A/N: please forgive me i kept procrastinating on writing this

“GOD DAMMIT JOEY-“

A tall figure stomped into the doorway, grumbling various curses. Both you and Wally froze to turn to who you assumed must be a fuming, ink-covered Sammy Lawrence.

You scrunched up your nose in disgust as soon as you overcame the initial shock of the ink-covered man. He smelled, well, like ink.

This… was not the best first impression, that’s for sure.

This also wasn’t the first time you’d seen someone become a victim of a burst ink pipe, but Mr. Lawrence took it to a whole new level. He had ink in his hair, splattered across his face, all the way down to his dress shoes, which were probably ruined. You frowned slightly at him.

“Franks,” the music director began with great difficulty, “see to it that my office is cleaned free of any ink, and get someone to fix that blasted pipe. Please,” he strained. “And remove this child from my department. I don’t have time for any more distractions.”

Wally saluted nervously. “Absolutely Mr. Lawrence!”

Meanwhile, you huffed, crossing your arms. “I’m not a child! I work here, y’know.”

The music director simply stared at you, the dark ink dripping down his forehead. “Anyone who works here wouldn’t address me so disrespectfully in my own department,” he replied coolly, drawing his stained lips into a thin line.

You turned around to look at Wally for help, only to realize he’d long since made his exit to fix the busted pipe. You let out a sigh, wishing you’d stayed in the art department. Despite your new-found interest in the banjo and the discovery of Wally’s keys, this Lawrence character just wasn’t pleasant.

You realized you’d just been standing there dumbly when the director cleared his throat, but you weren’t sure what to say. This man clearly didn’t like you, much less anyone else. And you certainly weren’t going to leave his department and let him win!

A chuckle from above made you jump a little. “Now come on Sammy, is that any way to treat our newest member of the art department? We wouldn’t want Mr. Drew to get upset, would we?” Taunted a gruff voice.

You glanced up, to see a second story where a projector lay. Next to it stood a rather tall figure, looming over the balcony. How long had he been there?

“I believe how I go about addressing employees in other departments is my business, Polk,” Sammy replied flatly. “But,” he continued, pinching the bridge of his nose with ink-stained fingers (seriously, was any part of this guy untainted by ink?) “I’d rather Joey not get involved.” He looked tired. And still very covered in ink. How unfortunate.

The guy on the second story- Polk- smiled lightly. “Now, how about this kid sees to it that our music director cleans up?” He offered, drumming his fingers against the ledge.

“Hey I didn’t volunteer-“ You began to protest, when Polk continued.

“And maybe in exchange Sammy can teach you some music. I’ll bet you could pick up the banjo quite nicely,” he added. You paused- how long had he been watching you and Wally fumble around for his lost keys? You had to admit though, the offer to learn music was quite tempting. You turned to Sammy Lawrence, raising an eyebrow.

The music director sighed. “Fine,” he grumbled. “Let’s just get the damn stuff off of me,” he said as he began walking down the hall, not waiting for you.

You crossed your arms. Was learning music really worth working with this grump?

You chose to follow him.

Batim streamer AU

I have no soul, this AU is proof.

So, they all play on a Minecraft SMP called BATIM. No one knows what the acronym means. Not even the players.

They have different seasons for each Minecraft update, with about two/three weeks given to finish up projects.

Lore is almost non-existent.

Henry was the one with the idea, pretty much only plays Minecraft. Left for season 2-4 and then returned with no warning.

Joey was the admin, loud and usually made pretty dark jokes. Is pretty problematic and was banned from the server in season 3.

Alice is fairly popular, however in season 4 there was drama with Sammy and now she doesn't play that often.

Sammy is on of the most popular players, and so help me I have so many headcanons for this man and his friends I will make a separate post.

Norman is regarded as the Joe Hills of the server. It actually really fits.

Jack is just vibing with his boyfriend and his pets <3

Grant is fairly underrated but well loved. This man just wants to build his redstone and hug his boyfriend.

Buddy is the youngest on the server, at 18. This kid has somehow been adopted by Wally.

Wally is the Grian of the server. Just pranks and chaos and building.

Shawn isn't on the server that often but when he is people either fear him or worship him.

Lacy was part of season 2-3 and then left. Is still in contact with pretty much everyone!

Bartum came on for a season and hated it. Just because it meant interacting with people. He's still a good person.

Tom is The Server Dad. He's also married to Allison!

Allison is trying to make the prettiest Minecraft base ever but she also watches Hermitcraft.

Who the fuck is this? Seriously, ever since I discovered this monstrosity, I've been feeling disgusted. My friend informed me about this design, and despite it not being 100% official, the damage is still done.

I know many people acknowledged Norman as someone black. And I've agreed most of the time even though in my au I never actually made him black, lol. But I agree on this one. He should be black. Literally, the whole fandom agrees on this one. Yet hear me out- I am not mad since his VA wasn't black at all, color really doesn't matter to me. But what bothers me so much is that he's simply hideous, ALL OF THEM.

They are so many talented artists that you have no idea just how many they are. They had options, many more. Just now, I saw the most jaw-dropping, beautiful- breathtaking fanarts of these same characters. I wish I could tag them all.

I just don't know what to say anymore. I've been such a huge fan of batim since 2017. I was a weird kid since I never stopped talking about it. And I don't mean this as a flex, I'm trying to say that batim has truly been my most precious thing ever. I can't explain how much I loved this back at the time, I still do.

It's been a while since I started to lose my way in the whole lore. Ever since batdr dropped, I haven't been able to catch up. And I must say, ever since they said that a movie, graphic novel and many other books would drop. I just knew I couldn't have high expectations on something like this.

And Jesus christ. I guess we were all right about this one. I really hope they do better, I really do. All I know is that I fear for Thomas Connor, Sammy Lawrence, and Wally Franks. They are absolutely my favorite characters, and even though I have my own impression and headcanons about them, I just pray to the Lord for them not to be THAT bad.

I only had to say this, lol. I needed to vent, whatever happens, I guess there's not much I can do anyway.

P.S. I made this drawing. This is my design of Thomas Connor, lol. Fun fact is that Thomas and Norman are my favorite characters.

I ship those two, btw... Norman x Thomas sounds fun.

BATIM/BATDR ship headcannons????

-i am not doing every single god damn ship so i'm only doing ones that i actually like. Also the BATDR ones are purely what everyone else theorizes or what I think personally about what happens after-

Sammy x Norman:

- Sammy's defiantly a bottom ong

-Norman does most of the cleaning up after se-

-Their first kiss was purely accident, Sammy was facing a different way while Norman was coming over to ask him something. Sammy turned and BLAM they kissed

-Norman towers over Sammy.

-Whenever Sammy tries to tease Norman, he teases him back, making Sammy flustered.

-At first glance Sammy looks like the dom/teasing one and Norman the Sub/easily flustered one. In reality its the complete opposite.

-Neither of them actually confessed. Norman invited Sammy to lunch one day, they had a good time, went for a walk around NY, went to Normans house, kissed, fucked, then boom dating.

-(in machine) Sammy tried to convince Norman to pray to bendy once...it ending in a hour long chase, a little fucking, then Sammy getting killed

-(After BATDR) Norman didnt get his body back cause..idk...so Sammy just carries him on his shoulder or holds him since he can't walk anymore *o^o poor Norman*

Susie x Sammy:

-Susie hinted for the longest time about her liking him, Sammy just thought she was weird

-Their first date was in the recording booth while working after time, their first REAL date was at a nice little dinner.

-Susie once made Sammy a chocolate cake..just for Wally to eat it *not referencing to the game at all*

-Sammy's first kiss with Susie was the day after getting hammered..and still being a little drunk the next day...

-Susie normally wears flats, but when she wears heals she's taller than Sammy by half an inch

-(in machine) Susie once caught Sammy in her domain, so she went out of her way to hunt him down, flirt with him, get things all loving, then stabbed him in the chest, took his mask off, then left. *we love sammy abuse >v<*

-(After BATDR) After Susie got her memories back the first thing she did was kiss Sammy, stab him in the shoulder than go apologize to everyone (Henry, Buddy, 'Allison', ext.)

Henry x Linda:

-Highschool sweethearts ong

-Their first kiss was at night with the NY lights all around them..or underneath a tree getting ready for the fall weather.

-They waited till after marriage to have kids

-Henry proposed to her while on vacation to somewhere that wasnt at JDS or NY

-They had two kids, a boy and a girl *....no i am NOT getting that from a really good comic that you guys should defiantly go read...*

-(in machine) Henry would fiddle with his wedding ring whenever he was sad, nervous or thought about Linda

-(After BATDR) Audrey made an ink version of Linda so that Henry would have his love with him forever

Allison x Thomas:

-They first met after Allison almost face planted into the floor cause she slipped on ink

-Wally set up their first work date. Which was just moving table and chairs to the side then playing music on a record player. Not so romantic but Allison enjoyed it.

-Thomas is actually really quiet, unless it's just him and Allison

-They got married after they got fired from JDS

(Ink clones)

-Alison doesn't mind that Tom can't talk, they actually made up a system for them to talk to each other

(After BATDR)

-Allison and Tom had gotten the memory's of Alison Pedal and Thomas Connor after Audrey took control. So they decided to have their own mini wedding. Which Henry was the priest, Sammy composed music, Alice(Susie)the bridesmaid and Buddy the best man, and Dappers the ring barrier.

I don’t ship them at all but them being divorcees is funny as hell so they get points for that. This was definitely one-sided on Joey’s end at some point

Also I should mention the Ink Henry x Memory Joey variant of this. While I think it’s interesting and definitely less toxic than the original, I’m still not about it. Tho the score went up a point because of it

OMG. OP, I…. IM GOING TO ASSUME, you have not, looked at my blog yet and are sending me a cold ask after seeing my BatDR art???? just, like, SO MUCH of my past content has been SHIPPING SAMMY WITH VARIOUS PEOPLE this was a WILD ask to get LMAO

Anyway here are some things I ship and post about across various AUs and interpretations: - Sammy x Joey - Sammy x Jack - Sammy x Susie (depending on the AU) - Sammy x Norman, Sammy x Wally, Sammy x Henry and Sammy x Thomas are ships I’ve made only a few posts about but I’m a fan of the ships - Joey x Kyle and Joey x Jack don’t get drawn super often either but trust me I’m thinking about them LMAO

But also I just love shipping in general; if you give me two characters to ship then 8 times out of 10 I will enjoy trying to figure out if a relationship could happen between them, whether good or bad.

Truth is, BatDR moved away from a lot of what was interesting about the BatIM characters for me… with the exception of Memory Joey, whom I love and want to put in SO many situations lmao. So if you’re looking for Current Canon Characters Ships, then yeah, it’s mostly Memory Joey x Ink Henry. If you like speculative pre-game stuff with the human employees, most of my shippy thoughts are scattered around the canon crew tag. If you like AUs in general even if they’re pretty divergent, then friend i have more Joey x Sammy and Sammy x Jack thoughts than you could ever possibly have wanted.
