I have been thinking about these for a couple of years and now I wish to put my pain upon you.

[1] the slowburn *eats bars*

you CANNOT tell me this never happen. Who fell first? For me it’d be Wally sense he can love so much (about TOO much) and yk, Dick was raised by Bruce so yk.. pulling the mess that Young justice is, I feel like that’s when Dick had feelings for Wally. But Wally did try to move on and Artemis was a perfect distraction (not that Wally never loved her. He did, I find the ship quite cute but it ain’t my #1). Roy is sick and TIRED of seeing them pin for each other but they’re too blind to see. (😭) ofc, Wally “moved” on but Dick couldn’t quite do the same.. NOW

Edit: Bruce and Barry know each other and each other’s identity, don’t tell me why but it feels right and I’ve had this HC for so long.

[2] Wally’s death. (My personal hate.)

WALLY DIES. And he dies right after he and Dick fight. Dick ofc blames himself sense that’s HIS best friend and HIS long crush. He blames himself for not taking Wally sooner. He blames himself for not checking the outcomes that could’ve come so that they could’ve saved Wally. He blames himself for fighting Wally. He blames himself for basically everything that he couldn’t really change. (Other than confessing yk..) in the show it doesn’t even show anything ?? (Which sucks sense that’s literally his BEST FRIEND. Even platonic would’ve been fine. 🙄😒)

[3] Wally coming back.

My personally favorite, Wally coming back? Yes please. I’m not gonna get TOO much into it, might make another whole thing abt that BUT just so you know it was totally unpredictable and may be Bart’s fault.. (Wally was never mean to Bart, I REFUSE to think so. I also think he can talk super fast (and hear) but he’s also slow (not like comics)) but he meant well sense he literally brought him back

[4] the process of coming back.

noww, I think the flash family would kinda hide him, you might ask why? Let me tell you. That’s their Wally and he’s been gone for gods know long. (I don’t keep time well) and ofc, even in the speedthingy (forgot the name) he aged, sense that also confuse me. But yk, they hide him. But they can’t hide anything from Batman sense well.. HE’S BATMAN. So, when he show up (Wally) he’s super confused sense, new team?? New people?? Where his friends?? Where’s the mountain?? (Let’s say that if it was already destroyed before he left.. it wasn’t and I’m making HC, okay?) and yk, a lot of confusion.

[5] the meeting/reunion

Wally is just standing on Barry’s league chair while he and Bruce argue with each other. He’s bored Af but Barry told him to stay so he’ll listen. (For now.) that is until he hears a sharp breath and sense that someone is there. He turns around and sees Dick. Huh. Dick was there? (Loading screen appears right on his face) DICK WAS THERE?? He speed right there and jumps to give him a hug. “Dick!!” he yells excitedly and hugs him tightly. Dick literally has tears into his eyes (but has his mask so they don’t rlly see it) but hugs Wally back! They stay like that for a long time. On the ground. Hugging. I feel like Wally never had anyone with him and was always alone, how he hasn’t gotten crazy? Bro idk 🤷‍♀️

I’ll do another part with more but rn Im running out of time so like, yeah!! I’ll see you in the other part

I just realized that Wally is the perfect mix for my regular art style and for my Inktober art style.

Normally my blog reflects me and my art which is just bright and fun and colorful, but once a year, inktober possesses me and suddenly I love the dark and detailed.

Needless to say, it's not even summer yet and I can't wait for Inktober already UwU

I might already have a few pieces planned

ofc! i've been thinking about it a lot!

i would like to begin by saying that, as with canon, everyone likes Wally. as they should! i think that's an Important tidbit that should always carry across, at least in some way

Wally is... i think it's also important that he's a kind person. he loves deeply, is very forgiving and accepting, and he's just. he's a bizarre little man, and he's wonderful! there is not a malicious bone in his body! he finds delight & beauty in everything he can. he looks at his friends and is filled with deep contentment and joy and love. he's not blind to their flaws (and certainly not his own), but he never minds. those flaws are part of his friends, and he loves every bit of them!

and ok. Wally is not nearly as naive in this au as he is in canon. bc he's had a different life! he's had a rough go of it! unfortunately there's next to no way for normal people to grow up completely innocent & naive & pure, yk? life is harsh. Wally is not spared. he's incredibly kind despite it all. he's still in love with life and humanity. he smiles at strangers in the street & stops to watch bees pollinate flowers & sees parts of his friends in everything. he has many intense feelings even if he doesn't really show it or know how to convey them! he believes in the inherent goodness of people & beauty of being human!

there is a... very wide range of how people (outside of the Neighbors) view Wally. a lot of people find him slightly unsettling and really fucking weird, and well. he is! he's strange, and it's a wonderful part of him! but many don't see it that way. so he was ostracized by his peers in school (all the way through college), his coworkers (the few times he held a job before becoming a full-time artist), and most people in his local community. they just don't get him. they don't See him. Wally doesn't mind all that much! all of the important people in his life accept and love him for who he is, and he wouldn't even think of changing to fit the mold others want to shove him into.

then of course there are the people who treat him like a child, bc ableism is a thing and Wally's very noticeably autistic (even if people only notice subconsciously). this i think would be one of the very few things that outright annoys Wally, even if he doesn't really show it. but then there's the people who, while they might not get him (especially not to the extent his friends do), they accept him. like much of the art community he's involved in - even if a lot of them completely misinterpret his personality / mannerisms. they're all like "ohhhh he's so mysterious and ruminant" that's the 'tism, babes

BUT! YOU ASKED ABOUT SPECIFICALLY HIM AND THE NEIGHBORS! we'll save Barnaby for last since that's. uh. i have a lot to say about it. it's Very Complex in my mind

collectively, all of them love Wally a lot. which i've said! We Know! they also (mostly subconsciously) look for his approval - he's got a certain level of charisma that makes them all want him to like them. which, he does. obviously. unconditionally. and they're all protective of him & very patient with him. i think that's both a result of his natural rizz, how kind & patient he is with them, how well they understand him, and how he's a pacifist. he's their guy and woe befall anyone who dares cross him. (essentially, all of them collectively: the only constant is suffering - omg Wally!!! 💖💖💖)

we'll start with Frank! before he got to know Wally, he thought that Wally was an aloof asshole who thought he was better than everyone. then they started to directly interact and Frank realized "oh you're literally the nicest person i've ever met & also surprisingly relatable. you're just like me fr'. did he have a lil crush on Wally? yes. im saying it now literally everyone in the friend group (except local lesbians poppy & sally) has had at least a teensy crush on Wally at some point. but Frank deeply appreciates Wally's company & his complete lack of judgement. and how he gladly will let Frank talk for hours on end, chiming in with questions to prompt him to talk more! he also appreciates Wally's calm demeanor and vibes. he's one of those people that even when overwhelmed, Frank can handle having Wally around. he's like a human capybara! if Frank needs/wants a buddy with him for Situations, his go-to (after Julie ofc, though depending on the situation he'd pick Wally first) is Wally, since Wally Gets It. also Wally is unafraid to be like "wow, this kinda sucks! we're leaving", thus giving Frank an easy out. they just get along very well! ofc Frank can get frustrated with Wally, but then again he gets frustrated w/ everyone. but since Wally is patient with him, Frank tries to return the favor. also he's gotten into several fistfights over Wally's honor

Julie! she loves Wally so fucking much! he's her lil guy! even if he's kinda boring in a way! he's not very good at games or sports & would rather go on a relaxing walk than play Just Dance, but hey! he always makes Attempts, and she appreciates that! when they were younger and Julie & Sally & Poppy had girls nights (they continue to have girls' nights but everyone is involved. they still call it that tho), they'd often include Wally bc, yk! he's chill like that! Julie also massively respects his ability to say "no thank you" to anything without compromise. if he ever says it to her, she knows that he doesn't mean Any ill will by it! there's a sort of comfort in that! she knows she can be herself around him! also he's just... very good company. he's a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold, a willing victim & confidante for elaborate schemes! he visits her at work Purely because he knows it delights her to see a friendly face in the middle of a grueling shift! he's always been a bit of a lighthouse to her!

and while Sally can be a little exasperated with how literal Wally is, she finds no small amount of solidarity with him As A Fellow Artist. when they first became friends, they caught on like a house on fire! she mentioned the artistic side of theater, and Wally was immediately on board. then and going forward Wally is always willing and more than happy to assist with painting sets, art advertisements for her performances, etc! they have little brainstorming sessions where she rambles about what she wants sets / costumes to look like, and Wally sketches them out! since Sally was a theater kid and goes on to work in that department (locally, usually), Wally often gets first read of her scripts. Sally highly values Wally's opinion and input. if he's free, sometimes he helps teach the actors' the show choreography. Sally runs through it with him, Wally soaks up the moves like a sponge & memorizes them, and hey! he loves to teach! Sally just. she loves him a lot. they're both artists of a sophisticated nature <3

Howdy thinks Wally is real neat! Wally is good company and is (often unintentionally) hilarious! he's also like... the one person Howdy refuses to scam in any way shape or form. tricking grandmas into buying more than they need? no sweat. tricking Wally into spending slightly more money than intended? Howdy feels like a fucking monster. but yeah, Howdy's just always delighted to see Wally! he likes Wally's unique view of the world and often takes it into consideration when making decisions. when he's stuck on something, he thinks WWWD (what would Wally do!). Howdy also is the one who most often accompanies Wally to his art shows & the like, bc he knows that Wally will accept the first price offer he hears - and Howdy is determined that his incredible works of art are paid for their worth! nobody is gotta cheat his pal outta a single cent! he just likes having Wally around, you know?

Wally & Poppy have an interesting relationship, i think! he tells the cashier "she asked for no pickles" for her! she makes sure he always has a soft place to land! he kinda confuses her, but she finds it endearing in a way? he displays a personality/behavioral quirk and she's like "oh. well alright!" and rolls with it very gracefully. they appreciate each other's mellow demeanor and proclivity for peace. Poppy knows she can always have a nice, quiet conversation with him over tea (even if he doesn't drink it!). and he's always willing to help with anything and everything she needs, no question. i think i've made this joke on this blog before but! in way! he's her emotional support animal lmao. a hand to squeeze to death on an airplane! also it's funny for me to picture a 6'8 woman hunched behind this 5'2 shrimp of a man as if he can hide her

it takes a little bit for Eddie to adjust to Wally's bizarre nature! like i've said, Eddie connects with the group when they're all in their late 20s. he hasn't had over a decade of being friends with Wally like the rest of them. he likes Wally plenty! definitely grows to love him! but it's an adjustment. Wally consistently startles him very easily (Wally is naturally quiet and has a habit of appearing out of nowhere), and Eddie has a hard time getting a read on him. most people do! and also Wally is very handsome/pretty, and that throws Eddie off a bit (it's hard to think when someone so attractive is staring directly into your eyes without blinking) but once he gets somewhat used to Wally & understands as much as he can, he very much appreciates Wally's company & friendship! they find (somewhat subconscious) solidarity in being the kindest and most helpful people in the clique! and Wally is a wonderful island of peace in a turbulent world. Eddie never minds sitting with him for a cup of coffee in the early morning during his route, even if it means his workday ends a few minutes later than usual.

other supporting cast like Wally as well. Ms. Beagle kinda views him as a second son! the Joyful siblings will always find him a little weird and unsettling, but they're nice enough to him. Howdy's family thinks he's neat. etc! but lets talk about Barnaby!

Wally is literally everything to Barnaby. that's his person. there is literally no one that comes before Wally in his eyes and heart. their relationship is and always has been very nontraditional To Me (in this au and somewhat how i view them overall! its complicated!). Wally never subscribed to or understood societal norms, and as a result, Barnaby wound up pretty much shunning them as well when it comes to his lil buddy. their relationship isn't romantic - Wally is very aro and Barnaby just does not feel that way about him, not really. but at the same time it's certainly not entirely platonic!

neither of them can imagine being separated. they met in 7th grade and have been glued together ever since. they've been through some tough shit together! they know each other better than anyone! you cannot have one without the other! they're more than a package deal - they're Inseparable! Barnaby has had many a nightmare of Wally leaving in one way or another, and it scares him more than anything. to him, he can weather any storm as long as Wally is by his side. they obviously don't spend every moment together, but at the end of the day they always come home to each other.

Barnaby just... he loves and respects and values Wally so much. he wants his approval, his attention, his company. sometimes he scares himself by considering the lengths he'd go to for Wally. there is no one he's more comfortable with or feels he understands / is understood by. if somebody has a problem with Wally, they have a problem with Barnaby. if Wally jumped off a cliff, Barnaby would not hesitate to leap after him! Wally says jump, Barnaby asks how high! he's not a violent person at all, but teen Barnaby once broke a bully's jaw for goin' a little too far w/ Wally

is their relationship a smidge unhealthy? a lil codependent? yes <3 yes it is <3 but we all know that Wally would never use this against Barnaby. on his side of the coin, Barnaby is his person as well! Wally has never imagined his life without Barnaby because it just does not occur to him that that's a possibility. there are many things that only Barnaby knows about Wally, sides only he's seen. there's complete & unconditional trust/love between them. they hotbox Home together <3

Welcome home my Darling new neighbor (Wally Darling x Male reader) Yandere Fic

A/N: for future chapters I might add the tag Dead dove do not eat cause this does eventually get really dark in future chapters.

CW: Scopophobia, stalking, badly written panic attack, obsessive behavior, mentions of limbs being cut off and kidnapping.

Chapter 3: Stuck

It’s been a couple of days since you’ve been kidnapped by Wally Darling, and ever since you’ve gotten full control of your new body a few days ago you’ve been trying to escape, or knock him out to try and escape. But every attempt seemed to be thwarted, either by a floorboard suddenly becoming loose, your legs becoming wobbly again somehow, windows you tried to open and escape from slammed shut on their own, or Wally somehow catching you leading you to be in his bone-crushing hold again. And each time it lead to you either being near him in the house the rest of the day or being stuck in that bed again with him staring at you with those black voids… You’ve tried everything to get out of this house out of his reach and grasp but nothing worked absolutely nothing worked… even today your pitiful escape attempt failed as you were now sitting in his lap while he sat on the couch, with his head resting on your shoulder arms around your waist as he stared at you from the corner of his eyes.

“My darling why do you keep trying to escape?” He spoke as he buried his head in your neck, even though you could no longer throw up you still felt the feeling of bile coming up to your mouth as he did the affectionate gesture which made you feel less than loved… “Cause I want to go home…” You spoke in a frightened whisper, his hold on you tightened after you said that. “But you are home… you are safe with me in home… there is no need to be so scared and skittish.” he said his voice showing some anger, you were about to speak again but he beat you to it. “I have shown you nothing but kindness and love and yet you're still so scared there's no need to be… Just be happy and show me that adoring smile…” He spoke so softly so sweetly, yet anger was present in his voice which you could tell was growing, was he… Was he Losing his patience with you? “I just want to see that adoring smile of yours again but these past few days you’ve denied me it, and I’m starting to get really annoyed… what do I have to do to see that smile again?” he said his grip getting tighter, what the fuck was wrong with him why did he think you would be all sunshine and rainbows after he kidnapped you and taken you away from everything and everyone you loved…

Words were caught in your throat you didn’t know what to say, who knew such a cute puppet could be so… Deranged, you could feel his stare at you like every other time. You didn’t know what to do. You didn’t know if you could smile in this new form or if your overwhelming fear would even let you but you didn’t want to know if you angered him any more than you already have… You just sat still in his lap as he held you, his anger practically radiating off of him…. You felt one of his arms come off of your waist and his hand tightly gripping your chin, forcing you to turn your head towards his face, where you saw his black eyes that looked like empty voids of pure anger. It was like staring into an abyss, eyes filled with empty nothingness that seemed to hold only endless anger; it was frightening, to say the least. “I have been patient and kind but every day you try to escape and every day I see you get more frightened and it’s getting harder to not get completely angry and not use the other options.” He spoke voice filled with rage, what did he mean by ‘other options’?

That question was never answered as he still forced you to stare into his eyes, your eyes filled with tears as you got more frightened every second he stared at you, your breathing became quick and you were starting to panic. You were scared… He stared into your eyes for a few more seconds before letting go of your face and allowing you to turn your head away from him as tears started to run down your face your breath heavy and quick as you tried to calm yourself down. “But Frank did say that you would be scared in a new environment after being taken away from one they were used to, of course I had to ask him why you were still so scared in a non-conspicuous way!” He said his voice back to being happy and smooth, but you could hear the anger lingering in his voice. You shook in his arms still trying to calm down, he picked you up and placed you down on the couch, his eyes still empty voids of anger. “I have to go again be good and don’t escape or I might resort to the other options… I love you darling” He said as blew a kiss goodbye to you before leaving the house, as soon as he did you got up and walked back to the room where you almost always were. You walked into it slowly closing the door behind you, when you reached the bed you sat down, and when you did your breath quickened again and tears began to pour out of your eyes as you broke down sobbing.

Your lungs felt suffocated as you breathed quickly, your body shook with every sob that came out of your mouth. Tears streamed down your felt cheeks staining them. [how did this happen? WHY DID THIS HAPPEN? What did I ever do to deserve this?] You thought as you continued to break down in fear, panic, and sadness. You wanted out, you wanted away from that sick puppet that was tormenting you. What did he mean by ‘other options’? That thought rang in your head as an echo. What did he have planned what other options did he have in mind to make you behave? Was he gonna chain you to this room? To this bed? Was he gonna cut off your stuffed limbs so that you stayed put and couldn’t move without his help? Was he gonna lock you into a dark room till you submitted and stopped fighting? What the fuck were the other options, you frankly didn’t want to know cause the thought of whatever he had planned scared you to where you felt like vomiting… You couldn’t stop panicking and so you tried to wrap your arms around yourself, but as soon as you did it reminded you of his tight grasp so you just opted to grab at your hair as you broke down. Curling up into a ball you tried to calm yourself down, not wanting him to come home to see you like this and get angrier. It took hours for you to just calm down cause everything in the house and about it reminded you of him, him and his abyssal eyes, and his deceiving smile.

How could such an adorable puppet be so cruel and evil? You laid back on your bed tired after the panic attack you just had, tears still rained down your face but not as much as before… You wanted home you wanted this nightmare to end, you grabbed a pillow and hugged it cuddling around it imagining it was someone you trusted and loved. You closed your eyes, clinging to the pillow as you drifted off to sleep wanting nothing more than to go back home. Away from him… You wanted home…

Wally walked to the woods, he had seen your breakdown unknown to your knowledge he was mad to say the least but like Frank said ‘pets take some time to get used to a new environment after they been taken away from everything they’ve ever known’. Of course Wally didn’t see you as a pet but like he said he had to ask in a non-conspicuous way, Wally saw you more as his boyfriend and his future husband and already had the wedding day imagined perfectly in his head to every last detail. From the suits, you two would wear to where exactly the venue would be, yes some... Would say this was obsessive behavior and a far reach from the current state of mind you had, but he knew one day you would fall for him and his charms and you would show him that adoring smile he fell in love with at first sight.

Wally was willing to do anything to see that smile and for you to stop trying to escape him, he had plans for if you continued this game but it seemed for now you had come to realize you can’t escape from him or escape out of Home. Speaking about one of his best friends, Home was so helpful with keeping you inside and making sure you didn’t escape. He was glad that his best friend was helping him with you, Wally couldn’t wait for you to finally calm down and become happy cause he really wanted to show you to his friends, so that his vision of your wedding could happen with all his friends. He got so lost in the thought of you and you finally being happy that he didn’t see his friends Until his other best friend Barnaby grabbed his collar. “Whoa, there buddy is your head in the clouds or something?” The tall blue dog puppet spoke as it picked up Wally by the back of his collar, Wally flushed up realizing he completely ignored his friends by accident. You see Wally had planned a picnic with his friends today, and that's why he had to leave the house. “Oh sorry Barnaby my head was lost in the clouds!” He chuckled embarrassed as Barnaby placed him down and walked back to where the others were.

Wally saw his other friends Frank, Eddie, Poppy, and Julie all talking and laughing until they saw Wally and Barnaby to which they all said hello and waved at them, Wally waved back with a smile on his face. “Sorry I didn’t realize I passed you guys my head was stuck in the clouds!” He said apologetically. “It’s okay Wally! What were you thinking about?” Julie asked excitedly her voice filled with enthusiasm, Wally thought about what to say exactly since he didn’t want to give away your existence but he also wanted to tell his friends about you and how beautiful and handsome you were. “Well, I was just thinking about… Uh, a new painting!” He said smiling, everyone seemed really interested since they all loved his paintings and drawings. “Really what were you thinking about painting?” Asked Eddie.“You know an apple maybe a butterfly maybe both!” Wally said smiling, glad they weren’t taking suspicion in him. “What about your new pet you asked me about yesterday?” Frank said, Wally slightly tensed he was glad he asked Frank but also regretted it cause he knew Frank would do this… Hopefully, the Butterfly loving person didn’t question any more than he should… “yeah I should! That’s a good idea!” Wally said so he didn’t draw any suspicion, it seemed as if everyone was confused… Wally has a pet? “You have a pet what type? It is a dog, a cat, or a fish?” asked Poppy, Wally realized his mistake about bringing up a pet… now he had to think of what type of pet he would have. “Oh uhm… It’s a… It’s a dog!” He said smiling happily, Julie and Barnaby seemed to be ecstatic about it asking many questions about the fake animal which wally answered and kept the information he made up about it stored in his head so he could make the painting he told them he was planning to make. Though Wally was now getting suspicious of Frank cause Frank seemed like he didn’t truly believe Wally, Wally brushed it off for now knowing Frank wouldn’t dig any deeper… Would he?

After the bombard of questions Julie and Barnaby relaxed again and started to talk about normal neighborly things while Wally’s mind was stuck on the thought of you as he talked to them, he couldn’t wait to go home and see your sleeping form or your pretty eyes as you stared at him when he walked into the bedroom with you awake. He just hoped you weren’t trying to escape again and that Home was making sure you weren’t leaving anytime soon. You were stuck with him, you were stuck forever in Home, you were stuck in this realm with him. You were stuck and destined to soon fall in love with him, you were stuck….

And he couldn’t be happier!

Although he kept in mind that he had to keep an eye on Frank in order to keep you and make sure you’re not gonna escape, for Frank was getting too suspicious… But little did he know… He should also keep an eye on Barnaby.

Wally Darling and Barnaby have a chat idk-

🖍️ Wally places the phone down, taking a deep breath. This is perfect! Almost TOO perfect... Wally looks up to Barnaby, his best friend and roommate. "Barnaby! I'm going to be meeting (Y/N) at Howdy's Place tomorrow! Isn't that great?"

🖍️"Yeah, Wals... that's great." The taller man then looks around the parking lot, before looking down at Wally, again, and asking "So... when are you going to tell them?" "Tell them what?" Barnaby places his face in his hands "Wally... You know what I am talking about. It was what ruined the other relationships you had. You didn't tell Angel. You didn't tell Sean. You didn't tell any of them. So, once they found out on their own, they grew scared and left. You gotta tell them early on, or else they'll be scared, too."

🖍️ Oh. THAT thing. That little problem of his. It will be fine if they don't know, right? (Y/N) is very understanding! "What they won't know won't hurt them, Barnaby! It'll be fine if I don't tell them." Wally watches as Barnaby sighs, leaning against the wall as he lights his pipe. "That is the problem, Wally. They will know, EVENTUALLY. Even if you don't tell them, they will notice it."

🖍️ Uh oh... Barnaby's right. Wally knows it. He's never been good at acting like other people do... He doesn't want to tell them, though, because if (Y/N) finds out... (Y/N) works with a whole bunch of different people, but who's to say they won't judge Wally for his... problem...? Is it a problem? It helps him with his art, but not much else...

🖍️"Wally... you're overreacting again." Barnaby says, looking down at him. "You'll be fine. Even if they don't like what they hear, it is not like you'll die from them thinking that way. You know you're a great guy, right? A you're like a little ray of sunshine. I can't speak for others, but being around you brightens up my day."

🖍️"Thanks, bud. It's just... I don't want them to get scared! I'm a good guy! A little weird, but good! I just... I can't tell them, Barnaby! They're going to hate me if they figure it out..." A pat on the shoulder breaks Wally out of his train of thought. He looks up, seeing Barnaby looking down at him with a distressed face.

🖍️"Don't talk to yourself like that, Wals. They won't hate you. The others were just a bit ignorant. Think of it this way, buddy. (Y/N) has worked with a wide array of disabilities, right? They've worked with kids that have had a similar flat affect to you. So, maybe, they have worked with kids that have other similarities to you. Eh? You think that's possible?"

🖍️ Wally grows quiet. It is probably right. Yeah... he is just overreacting. Wally looks up to Barnaby "Can you...?" "Call Howdy and ask him to ask (Y/N) about it tomorrow? Sure thing, buddy. Sure thing."
