Chapter 8
Breaking the past
The sun had a way to sneak inside her room, the light rays of light projecting hues of colour with a welcoming warmth that soothed her to sleep again. The memories of childhood days spent in bed, trying to sleep in before being taken away from the comfort of her bed and made to be an avid participant in the house chores. Wanda fluttered her eyes open to see the time gleaming from the digital clock in her bedside table.
9 am.
She smiled knowing the twins must be asleep as well, Saturdays had become one her favourite days of the week. It was a time in which she could spend time with her children, she was able to read and to paint, to do all the things she had denied herself for too long. But that particular morning, her smile was brighter, and the fluttering butterflies at the pit of her stomach were a memory of your words the night before.
I was hoping you would come to my place and we could have lunch together.
Wanda felt a tug on her heart, she closed her eyes for a brief moment only to see your smile from the night before. She never imagined that spending time with you would result in her having so much time, or in you being a complete child while taking the kids with you to form a team during the game. She had seen a part of you that had melted away her heart and her resolution. Wanda turned to her back glancing at the ceiling with her heart speeding at the memory of the kiss you placed on her cheek.
But before she could delve even more in the memory, before she allowed the sweet, tortuous tingling in her body to travel down to her crotch, there was a knock on her door. Wanda sat almost right away, her eyes going big with anticipation, she spoke before she could stop herself with a voice heavy with sleep and confusion.
“Who is it?” Wanda winced, rolling her eyes at her own stupidity. She tried to stand up before the door was opened but it was late.
There standing by the door were the twins, they were holding one white rose in their hands and some superhero mugs with big smiles, behind them you were carrying a tray filled with eggs, bread, coffee and orange juice.
The world came to a halt.
Wanda observed the scene trembling like a leaf. Her breath caught on her throat, her eyes going from her children to you then back to them. She opened her mouth and closed it again, but there was nothing she could say without breaking up and giving into panic and tears.
“Hey, sorry, they called America, but she stayed over at Loki’s place and America called me and… Well, you were asleep, and they were hungry, and I thought that you may need the sleep and…”
The twins snickered entering the room slowly, the both of them offered the white rose to Wanda who took them with trembling hands. The look in her eyes cut off you babbling, and you regretted doing what you just did. You had overstepped quite foolishly, assuming whatever had happened last night was an open invitation to… to be a freaking stalker or something equally awful.
“Mommy, Y/N made pancakes like dinosaurs!”
“And we played, and helped her, and she let us pick the flowers!”
“Mommy, Y/N told us that we could watch the whole Jurassic Park movie on her TV, can we go?”
“You like the pretty flowers, Mommy?”
Wanda was bombarded by two hyperactive twins waiting patiently to Wanda
You kicked yourself for just barging in the other woman's home without even asking, for thinking that perhaps this was okay. You and Wanda were not friends. Or, were you?
Your trail of thoughts was cut short by a warm hand on yours. Wanda offered a trembling smile, she opened her mouth and then closed it again.
“I… I…”Wanda snorted, shaking her head. “You didn't have to do this.”
You tilted your head holding onto the tray, it was true you didn't have to do it. You did it because you wanted to, because you hadn't stopped thinking about Wanda. Because you woke up thinking you could have kissed her the night before.
“I just… I'm shocked, I've never had breakfast in bed.” She said, trying to ease out the uncomfortable silence in the room.
“Never?” You asked incredulously, Wanda shook her head and just as you were to say something else Billy came forward speaking loudly.
“Daddy said mommies didn't deserve breakfast and they should be serving us.” Billy made up a face sulking a little. “But Balder told us that his dad serves breakfast to his mommy… Because he loves her…”
Tommy placed his hand on his chin, pursing his lips while glancing up at where you were standing frozen in place after such a revelation.
“Do you love mommy?” Tommy finally asked, and it was his question what broke the uncomfortable tension in the room.
Your face turned in a mask of reds and disbelief, while Wanda was just as mortified as you. The twins, blissfully ignorant of what they had just done, went back to crawl inside Wanda's bed and turned the TV on.
Wanda was afraid to lift her gaze and discover disgust in your face, perhaps to find you looking at her as if Vision had been right all along. You don't deserve to eat, dear, last night I wasn't satisfied as I should be and you have to make it up to me today.
You cleared your throat stepping closer with a grin in place. Your eyes gleamed warmly, tilting your head to catch those green irises in yours.
“Well, boys, mommies deserve breakfast in bed every single day of the week.” You declared casually. “You guys love your mommy, right?”
Wanda's heart shrank with emotion when the twins exclaimed a loud yes, you were now dangerously close to her.
“Then, it is obvious that she needs her breakfast.” You cleared your throat once more and this time around Wanda did look up to see you before her. “Let me make sure you have your first warm breakfast in bed, Wands.”
For a brief moment, you and Wanda stared into one another's eyes without any need to break into explanations. You were not asking for them, and Wanda was too afraid to say something and scared you away. The young woman fixed her position in bed, and you soon placed the trail on her lap. You offered a quick smile nodding to the twins and the tray.
“Now, Wands, you go ahead and eat while you watch some cartoons with the children.”
“Cartoons?” Wanda asked amusedly, whatever nervousness she was experimenting with was diminished by your comment. The twins nodded watching as you surf the channels looking for some good cartoons.
“Yes, Saturday mornings are mornings of cartoons and sleeping in until you can't take bed anymore.” You winked at her, and Wanda melted at the sight.
She was foolish not to think that this was nothing more than a friendly gesture, and Wanda knew later on she would need to provide explanations about the comments made by Billy. But at the moment she could give in the moment, enjoyed the warm meal and the familiarity of the scene.
Soon you found something Billy and Tommy asked for and the room filled with the sound of paw patrol. You smirked at Wanda who winced lightly while Tommy and Billy were hooked from the start.
“And, what are you supposed to do now?” Wanda asked teasingly, you stood there for a moment putting the rose you had in your back pocket out and placing it on the tray. “Are you going to stay with us?”
Wanda tried to make it sound casual, as if she was just teasing you. But the air left her lungs when you leaned in, your eyes locked on hers, twinkling with an emotion that made Wanda's heart jump in her throat and her core tremble with longing.
“Now you enjoy and later on I will wait for you at my place for lunch.”
“Stay.” Wanda said before she could stop herself, she opened her eyes, lowering her gaze. “I mean… You're here now, so you could have breakfast and…”
You chuckled winking at her, “perhaps at another time. Right now I have to run some errands and I want to make sure Billy and Tommy are okay before you wake up.”
“Thank you.” Wanda mumbled, you waved away her words walking backwards with a grin adorning your features.
“Don't mention it, it was my pleasure. See you later, Wands.”
You almost crashed against the threshold, cursing lowly while hearing the snort of amusement from Wanda. Blushing lightly you shook your head and exited the room before you could do or say something that would put you in the spotlight.
Wanda was left with her children, the food was warm and her stomach grumbled reminding her that she had been angry when waking up.
“Okay, guys, I need you to tell me why you call America again.” Wanda finally asked, turning to Billy first then to Tommy.
The twins took their attention away from the TV looking at Wanda.
“She is cool, Mommy.” Billy said as if that was the best argument in the world.
“I know she is, Billy, but she probably was asleep at home and she has things to do.” Wanda tried to reason with them, it was not the first time they had done this and Wanda was starting to think this could be bothering you and America at some point.
“I like America and Y/N.” Tommy said, leaning closer to Wanda. “They make mommy smile.”
Billy nodded in agreement, “mommy, you like them too?”
Wanda flushed at the question, she pressed her lips together and decided to stuff her mouth with pancakes instead of answering that particular question. She let her thoughts run rampant, her body tingling with anticipation for the lunch time to be there already.

Laughter filled the room, reverberating deep inside her soul at the sight before her.
Billy and Tommy were on the floor, holding onto their stomachs while laughter erupted from them with a young woman poking at them while a grown adult kept on making noises while the voice on the phone demanded seriousness. Wanda sat on the dark blue chair in the corner, she was closer to the fireplace and the window, the rain falling freely right outside the house. If anyone had asked her a couple of months ago the changes she had experimented in her life, she would have thought them crazy. Wanda had never considered herself strong, or even extraordinary, and quite frankly she never thought she would make it out of Vision’s grasp; when the time came for her to make decisions, it came as a surprised just how strong she really was. How ready she was to start fighting for who she was, and what she wanted.
Leaning back against the cushioned back of the chair, Wanda chuckled at the sight of Billy and Tommy enjoying themselves without a care in the world. Her green eyes flickered briefly from Billy and Tommy to America, the young woman was grinning like mad while putting the mobile away before turning the TV on, her soothing voice and clear wording made it impossible for the twins to ignore her. Wanda had seen the growing affection between her children and their babysitter, how that young woman had come over their lives and help the twins out of their scary shell.
For a moment, Wanda kept her eyes on a single spot between the twins and America. She was fighting over with her thoughts, the fluttering in her heart made her tingled until fluttering butterflies awoke at the pit of her stomach. Without any excuses to keep her eyes away from you, she let her green stare to fall upon your relaxed form on the floor.
You were resting your back against the sofa, one leg on the floor and the other bend slightly towards your chest. Your face was a mask of pure relaxation, there was a soft trace of flush on your cheeks and those eyes were completely soft and warmth as they focused on the children. Not for a single moment had you shown any disgust or exasperation against the twins, you were not even bored after answer a million questions and then telling them stories about yours and America’s younger days.
Wanda held her hands closer to her chest, her heart twisted inside her chest making her experiment a spark of longing. Wanda longed for this to be her life, and just for that brief moment, Wanda could pretend this was her life. With Billy, Tommy, with America and with…with you.
But just as this thought sneaked inside her mind, she shook it away with panic rising inside her mind. It was impossible! She was not attracted to women, and she most certainly was not attracted to you! She couldn’t! She shouldn’t! And thus, she would bury those emotions and forget all about them. With time, Wanda knew she would realize this was just her way of developing friendships. Right?
“Woah, earth to Wanda? Earth to Wanda!!”
You were waving your hand in front of her face, the young woman shook her head blushing profusely with you just a few inches away from her grinning amusedly. Wanda could tell everyone had her attention on her, and she just hoped she had not been staring at you in an obvious way.
“I thought you want to either hit me or kiss me for the way you were looking at me.” You teased shaking your head in triumph when Wanda winced mortified.
“I wanted to hit you…” She stated through gritted teeth, you chuckled leaning back.
“Keep telling yourself that, Princess.” You winked at the young woman, before tilting your head back.
Billy, Tommy, and America were now seated on the sofa watching a movie, and while the rain was still falling right outside your windows, it was no late than four in the afternoon.
“I was asking you, if you want to start working on the preparations for the festival.” You lowered your gaze furrowing your brows. “We can use the studio and leave them here watching a movie.”
Still shaken by your early comment, Wanda tried to regain her wits before facing you again.
“Yes, I think we could go and work a little, there are a lot of things I would like to ask you about, and perhaps get to know a little better.” Wanda was about to stand up when you stretched out your hand, offering a support for her to take and stand up.
It took her a moment of hesitation before she came into contact with your hand. It felt warm against hers, and your fingertips were soft under her calloused palm. You offered a half smile, Wanda tried to smile back but it came as a grimace making her wince at her lack of decor to actually return such a simple gesture. Wanda thought you would let go as soon as she had stood up, but instead you took her hand in yours guiding her through the living room down the dinning room to the hall leading a to a single white door.
“My dad built his mancave in the basement.” You started explaining while going down the stairs with Wanda following close behind. “It became the studio for everyone in the house since he was incapable of being alone for far too long. He started bringing my toys and my things as well as some of America’s or even mom’s stuff.”
“This place is huge.” Wanda couldn’t help but admire the room, it had been well-adapted and there was no humidity or coldness sneaking inside the place.
It had a single desk in the far corner, with a lamp and a laptop. There were a couple of inflatable chairs, a sofa bed, and a couple of futons; on the wall there was a TV and Wanda could see three different gamer consoles with the respective controls. This really had become more than a studio and more like a game room inside the house, and whenever America and her friends were up for a sleepover this was the place they stayed in
You were standing at the bottom of the stairs, scratching the back of your neck waiting for Wanda to say something. The young woman walked around the place, her eyes following the different patterns, the furniture, and then to the pictures decorating one of the walls. In there she could see the pictures of your younger self with your parents, some of you and your friends, and then America and her friends. Wanda softened slightly, her eyes falling into one picture that had a baby America clinging to you, behind the both of you were your parents smiling happily at the picture. For all your bravado, and rudeness, these were the glimpses of the real you that Wanda found endearing; she turned around to see you fidgeting near the stairs, as if you had been waiting her approval.
There was a single moment in which she found herself looking directly into your eyes. You were trying to hold yourself in a casual manner, trying always to look as compose and in control as you presented yourself most of the time. But right now, you were just nervous and Wanda couldn’t help but think you were looking cute, and apart of her was hoping perhaps, this sudden nervous trait of yours was because of her.
“This is a game room, you know that, right?” Wanda finally exclaimed, her lips curling slightly. “And it looks like the playground of a 15-year-old teen.”
You crunched up your nose lifting your finger, “now look here, this is a pretty decent game room, and it fits the needs of a couple of orphans that wanted to make this a good place to play.”
Wanda chuckled making her way to the laptop, you followed her soon after sitting down on your favourite chair while putting your mobile out.
“We haven’t changed anything, you know?” You finally revealed, Wanda took a seat right beside you tilting her head with curiosity. “I mean, this is how dad decorated it. Sure, we added some things, and some pictures and games but…dad decorated it himself. He…he was a 15-year-old at heart.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t—” Wanda started but you stopped her waving your hand away.
“Oh, no, no, don’t worry, I just…you made me remember that discussion with mom.” You shrugged then. “I think, America and I never thought of changing this one room, the rest of the house has to go through some renewals, but this place…our last movie night was in this room. I think we never thought this place needs changing.”
It was the first time Wanda saw the vulnerability in you, the way your words tinged with sorrow and nostalgia, how your eyes held onto the glistening tears while your lips quirked upwards. You turned to Wanda, and in there she could see a strong woman that had been dealing with more chaos that she let on. Wanda hesitated for a moment before placing her warm hand on top of yours, her own features softening to offer you a single smile.
“It looks incredible, you know? I think that it really suits you and America.”
You snorted nodding before looking away, “so, let’s get to work then, I have a couple of ideas that may work for this occasion.”
Wanda accepted the sudden change of topic with a short nod, but she didn’t miss the smile playing on your lips or the closeness you two were sharing at the moment. The young woman turned to the laptop to a word document you just opened, ready to start working.
“So, what shall we do?”
Wanda chuckled with her cheeks warming up, she too turned to the laptop opening her mouth to start sharing the ideas that had been in her mind for a couple of days. Your fingers moving fast on the keyboard, your own ideas being brought upfront until you and her engaged in a conversation you would replay in your mind for days to come.

Time passed by so quickly, by the time you decided to look at your watch it read 9 p.m.
Rain had stopped a long time ago, and the noise from upstairs came muffled by the close door of the basement. You were laughing at some silly story Wanda had told you about her twin, and the young woman was just grinning at the sight of your own smile. While you had never doubt Wanda was smart, this was the very first time you shared a conversation with the woman; her quick wit, alongside her opinions and her own ideas let her shine with a light of her own. She was not only smart, but also funny and soon you found yourself wanting to continue with the conversation, to not let go of the fuzzy shivering of your heart just as Wanda gestured with her hands, speaking excitedly about the arrangements in the main hall of Stark’s compound.
And while you seemed completely hooked by the woman sitting in front of you, Wanda was not in a better position.
It had been far too long since she allowed herself to get closer to anyone that was not pre-approved by Vision. She had almost forgotten what it was to give her opinion and to actually share her thoughts and her knowledge in a conversation. You were not only smart but funny, and while you and her thought differently on many topics, you were always up for a negotiation and a well-thought argument that Wanda loved to retort only to see your eyebrow twitched, and then the glint of disbelief in your eyes. It had been so long since Wanda allowed herself to be this close to anyone, to actually leaned in just to get closer to another person without breaking the distance to steal a kiss.
Wanda found herself relaxing into the banter, and as the night progressed she found herself longing. What for? She was scared to even go behind the answer to such a question. And still, she hoped for you to just do something and ended with her misery and her uncertainty. Of course, as soon as these thoughts flourish in her mind, another darker one came in, and soon she found the face of Carol Danvers sneaking in just to remind Wanda you were already taken.
Her eyes flickered down to her feet, her heart tugging painfully in her chest. She felt tears pricking at her eyes, while her stomach dropped at the memory of you kissing the blond-haired woman, of that woman holding onto you in the Stark event.
“Hey, you okay?” Your hand rested tentatively on top of hers, Wanda let her green eyes focused on the hands before she nodded curtly.
“Yes, sorry I just…” She tried to explain herself, the tears just rolling slowly making her felt like an idiot. She was about to speak when your fingertips wipe the tears away.
You were frowning deeply, Wanda found herself lost in your eyes and the honest concern she saw written in them.
“Wands…” You started but Wanda just shook her head standing up, she put on her best smile stretching her right hand to grab yours.
“Come, I think we need a tea or something, and the kids have been far to silent for my taste…”
Your frown deepened, but you decided to not make a comment about it. You grabbed Wanda’s hand in yours and soon you were following her close behind, her hand was warm against yours, your heart beating painfully in your chest. The first floor was in complete darkness, the only light coming from the living room that had the TV on, a movie was playing there, and on the sofa were Billy, Tommy and America, all snuggled up covered by a blanket and pillows to make it comfortable.
Wanda stopped on her tracks, her face softening at the sight.
She let go of you, stepping closer to the sofa and brushing Tommy’s hair away. The boy sighed turning slightly to snuggle closer to America, Billy was sprawled on the free space, and America had her hand wrapped protectively around to child’s knee. The whole scene was overwhelming to Wanda, the peace in her children’s face, the fact she could just let go of her worries knowing they were safe, that she was safe…
It was overwhelming.
Wanda never thought she would get to where she was at the moment, she never thought the day she met you that she would allow you to engulf her in a hug letting her sob for a moment. You stood there, making soothing circles on the young woman’s back not really knowing what to say, but making sure Wanda was following into the kitchen.
You sat Wanda down on the chair, turning towards the stove to start heating the water for the tea. The room was in complete silence, Wanda let her hand covered her face for what seemed an eternity until she gathered enough courage to start talking.
“You must think I’m weird, that I’m just this crazy person that doesn’t know how to keep her emotions in check.” Wanda blurted out glancing at the counter while wriggling her hands. “We were just having a good time, and I come and mess it up by crying and acting like an idiot.”
You stopped what you were doing, for a brief moment your back was still turned towards Wanda until you turned around facing the other woman.  Wanda never looked up, but you didn’t need her too, not yet anyway.
“I think you are amazing, Wands.” You leaned back against the sink, your hands resting on the table. “But I guess, your life has not been easy.”
Wanda snorted bitterly, her arms wrapping around herself, she had not forgotten about Billy’s comment early that morning, Wanda knew you had listened to it as if that wasn’t enough, you had also seen the scars in Tommy’s back. You had seen her at her most vulnerable, after the party thrown for the school; Wanda was afraid to look into your eyes and discover disgust in your eyes. She was afraid to actually find in those eyes understanding, and sympathy…
The world around her froze in time, a pair of fingers placed tenderly under her chin. Wanda felt the air on her lungs tangled in her throat, she trembled to her very core when her eyes found yours in a single stare. Whatever she expected to find in your glance, it was certainly not the warmth emotion filled with affection and something she could not name. You smiled at her, your hand brushing lightly on her skin before putting a strand of hair behind her ear.
“We don’t have to talk about it, if you don’t want to.” Your voice was soft, Wanda shivered shaking her head afraid to break the moment.
“I left my husband a couple of months ago.” She whispered placing her hand on your wrist. “He was not good to me or my children, and I just knew I have to leave before anything bad happen.”
It was not the whole truth, and Wanda felt bad at not being completely honest with you but in reality she was not ready to tell you the full story. How her life and that of the twins had been in danger, that the last time he had hit Wanda she was left to dead and taken to the hospital after Vision realized she could actually die. That he had used a cord from the television to hit Tommy on his back, and then had broken Billy’s arm. That he had threatened to kill the twins and then used Wanda like a breeding stock to keep her by his side.
Wanda was not ready to tell you, of all people, these things.
You opened your mouth wanting to ask something, anything, but you decided there was nothing else you needed to know. It is not my story to tell.
Natasha had said to you once, and now that you were looking into Wanda’s face, you realized, it was a story that the other woman needed to be ready to tell. You pressed your lips together, taking your hand away while stepping back a little.
“I’m sorry, Wanda.” You said the first thing that came to mind.
Wanda broke into a bitter smile, her mirthless laughter sending shivers down your back.
“People don’t usually know what to say when I tell the story, so it’s fine.” Wanda shrugged turning her back to you. “I’m still getting use to…everything, that’s why I’ve been going to Doctor Hope, and why I ended up here.”
You didn’t need to ask anything else, it was not secret that Natasha was part of a secret group that helped people victims of violence. You had even contributed at some point with money and contacts, but it had never been your forte, your stepmother was the one involved with the group. Knowing that Wanda ended up at your doorstep because of this, because she was running and hiding stirred something deep inside your heart.
You felt the need to protect her and the twins.
“I guess it doesn’t help that I’m an asshole to you most of the time, eh?”
Your commented caught her off guard, and soon Wanda was actually laughing. You joined her sitting on the counter while leaning against your hand. Wanda put her hair away shrugging.
“You were the only one actually being you around me.” She replied. “So, I kind of appreciated you being an asshole, it helped me focus my anger against someone different than me.”
You snorted, bowing mockingly at her.
“I’m always glad to be of service, Princess.” Then, in a moment of inspiration you winked at her and added. “I can always be of some use, and continue being an ass to you, so you have someone to fight with.”
Wanda shook her head, this time around her face transformed into an expression you were far too afraid to decipher. Her eyes gleamed, and her lips broke into an easy smile.
“Even though your proposal is very tempting, I think I like you more now.” Wanda opened her eyes really big she waved her hands stuttering with a full blush on her face; you arched your brows looking at her amusedly.
“Oh, you like me now? Really?” You teased, and she stood up rather fast stepping back making her way to the kettle.
“Oh, shut it, you know what I mean.” She tumbled over her words, with her back to you to hide away her embarrassment.
“Yes, you mean you like me, woah, Princess I didn’t know you swing that way…” Your laughter died off when the dishcloth she was using hit you in the face. “Hey!”
Wanda rolled her eyes trying to control her flustered cheeks, she mocked glare at you before spreading her arms rather exasperated.
“Can you help me with the tea, please?” She huffed when you chuckled jumping to the floor.
“Sure, Princess, anything you want.” You said winking at her, “after all, this is why you like me…”
“God, you’re impossible.” She mumbled trying to ignore her beating heart, or the grin threatening to break upon her lips.
You chuckled grinning smugly at her, nothing much was said about the topic, you didn’t press for more information and Wanda was just glad to share her story at her own pace. The silence that followed your teasing was one of pure familiarity, with you working alongside Wanda while making sure the tea was served with honey and milk.
“Have you ever been to Kamar Taj?” Your question came out of the blue, Wanda made a face blinking a couple of times while shrugging.
“Not really…” She answered tentatively not really knowing where this question came from.
“Well, let me show you…” You fumbled with your mobile, the tip of your tongue poking through your lips as you search for the images. “And, let me tell you the story of how America and I got therapy after our parents accident.”
Wanda found herself admiring you from afar, your words held just a tinge of sadness in them, but your eyes gleamed with peace and affection as you located the pictures and started showing them to Wanda. You opened up to her, telling Wanda about Stephen and Cristine, about Tony and Pepper, and how everyone came together for you and your sister.  You were talking excitedly, your hands expanding the sights you had seen in Asia, but Wanda’s eyes had never left your face, or your expressions…She had never stopped looking at you, and if you had been paying attention, you would have noticed the deep affection gleaming in those green eyes.
__________________________________
Monday morning came with more troubles than solutions.
You hit your head on the desk, your assistant huffing in disapproval while she continued with your schedule for the rest of the morning and the afternoon. You had just come to the office after an accident in the production floor, some of the computers had malfunction, and half of the operation had stopped until IT and the facilities team to fix everything up.
The only thing holding you up, was the memory of your weekend.
Saturday ended with Wanda staying at your home, the twins were fast asleep and it would have been rather dangerous to just carry them in the middle of a cold night to their house. They were warm, and the chilly night could make them sick, or so you reasoned with Wanda; you won the argument, and she slept with the twins on the basement, while America kept on shooting you knowing glances you didn’t even bother to acknowledge.
Then, Sunday came in and Wanda decided to repay your generosity with breakfast.
Everything had been too damn domestic, and you had woken up on Monday morning panicking. What the hell were you doing? What were you thinking? Wanda was straight as an arrow! She had children! She was married! Sure, her husband was an asshole and no longer in the picture but she was way beyond your league!
She probably didn’t even like women or was curious about being with one! She was probably…
“Really, Y/N, if you’re not going to pay attention to me I’m not going to be here to pass you notes or messages to know what you’re supposed to be talking about.” Maria Hill crossed her arms glaring at you with such intensity you sometimes doubt who was the boss in here.
“Sorry, Maria, I’m…I’m just distracted.”
“No shit, boss.” Maria sighed stepping forward before sitting down. “Spill, I cannot do my job and you certainly can’t do yours if you keep this up, what happened?”
You sighed leaning back on your chair while glancing at the ceiling, you had been an emotional mess all weekend but it only worsened as soon as you woke up that morning and you realized you missed Wanda. Which was completely ridiculous since you had just spent the weekend with her, and it wasn’t even that extraordinary! You both had worked on the preparations for the festival, you had just spent the weekend with a friend and her children. Nothing more.
“I just had the strangest weekend ever.” You mumbled knowing Maria had her brown eyes fixed on you, more than an assistant, Maria had become in your confident whenever you felt the world on your shoulders.
It was a relief, and the woman always had the right words and the right advice for you. She was a good person, and her willingness to usually put up with you was enough to make you trust in her.
“Strangest…how?” She inquired placing her tablet on the table.
You chuckled crowing your hands on your abdomen, tilting your head you locked eyes with her.
“My neighbour, America’s teacher, we…Natasha selected us to organise the Winter Festival for the school,” you shrugged looking away, you missed the flash of recognition in Maria’s stare. “She came home and we just…I don’t know, we just talk and kinda bond…you know?”
Maria cocked a brow not missing for one second your wishful stare, or the inflections on your voice. She had heard from Natasha the strange hate/friendship relationship you had developed with your neighbour. But this was the first time she saw it in action; now Maria understood why Natasha had decided to meddle in it.
“And you bond…physically?” She asked half amused and half exasperated at your reaction.
You jumped startled, your cheeks burning red just as you started stuttering an answer.
“N-no! Of course not!” You shook your head standing up and passing left and right, “I was just…we were just…it was a friendly bond! You know? We talked about ourselves, and our lives and shit like that.”
“Charming.” Maria rolled her eyes once more, she then grabbed her tablet again clearing her throat. “Look, Y/N, I think that you have to wonder why this non-physical bonding with a neighbour you found infuriating is affecting you so much.”
You stopped your passing turning to the window, the sight before you were that of a busy city filled with people coming in and out of the streets. You could feel Maria’s eyes on you, she was waiting for your answer and you knew you needed to concentrate on the oncoming meetings; besides, she was right. Why were you so worked up about the weekend? Why were you so affected?
“I just…I’m not sure.” You dropped your shoulders turning slightly. “What else do I have for today?”
Maria pressed her lips together, she was very tempted to pressing the matter and get more answers out of you. But she had been by your side long enough to know, it would be pointless you were far too confused to actually get into a serious talk. By the time you turned to face her, Maria knew you were in full business mode and whatever had been distracting you was pushed deep inside your mind, avoiding your emotions was something you were very adept at.
“You have lunch with Carol Danvers.” Maria smirked at your reaction; you winced placing a hand at the nape of your neck. “She actually made it official; we still had some contracting with the government and since she is the new liaison for Camp Davis you couldn’t say no.”
You nodded curtly, knowing the meeting was Carol’s way to get your attention on a topic you had been avoiding for more than a week. When did you relationship with Carol changed so much? Why did it change so much?
“And then, after that you have a business meeting with Edwin Jarvis, you know? The CEO from Vision Enterprise.” Maria furrowed her brows putting up some files. “He is looking to get some investment in AI technology and has some interesting ideas.”
You nodded absentmindedly, your mind still on Carol and Wanda.
“I think I’ve heard of him, Tony mentioned him at some point.” Maria clicked her tongue and this time around you did pay attention to her. “What is it?”
“This individual, he is also being investigated.” She replied softly, your eyes open slightly taking a seat on your chair you leaned forward.
“Go on, what is it? Should I cancel the meeting?”
Maria pursed her lips before shaking her head.
“He is being investigate for some fraud and industrial espionage.” Maria put the file in front of you, you turned to your screen reading the file she just sent to you. “It seems this is an ongoing matter, but there is also a sealed file about his wife and his children.”
“He sounds like the kind of individual I don’t want to be relate to, Maria.” You pursed your lips reading over the investigation for tax evasion and industrial espionage, the one on his wife and children was left blank and had a seal from the federal government on top of it.
“I know; however, Tony wants you to meet with him.”
This time around you couldn’t hide your surprised, you cocked your head to the side and then your eyes opened wide in understanding.
“Very well, what do I have to do?”
“I’m so glad that you always catch up once you have your mind out of the gutter.” Maria smirked leaning in while ignoring your sputtering protests.
_______________
The restaurant was packed.
Carol had chosen the restaurant right around the corner of your building, it was an old place filled with golden lights, and white tables with a darkened interior and sweet classical music dancing around the place. It was the home for old and new members of society, and it was the preferred place for the high ranking officers of the military when they wanted to make a good deal.
Your eyes swept the interior trying to locate the woman that was waiting for you, Carol waved at you from the far corner of the restaurant the table for two located it near the window right beside a beautiful fountain made of coloured water. The young woman wore her uniform, the signs that she had been in a formal meeting moments before meeting with you.
“Hey.” You greeted leaning in to place a kiss on her cheek, Carol smiled sweetly at you indicating the chair while calling over the waitress.
“Hey, thank you for coming.” She stated lowering her gaze for a moment before facing you again, you winced grabbing the menu and asking for something light and some water before focusing your attention on Carol.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“You had been avoiding me.” Carol didn’t beat around the bush, she grabbed her glass of water and took a long sip with her eyes pinning you to your spot.
You shifted your weight leaning forward, your mouth opened ready to deny her words but unable to do so. In reality, she was right, you had been avoiding her; ever since she proposed to you the trip to Eastern Europe you knew the relationship should stop but you didn’t dare to do so, and this inability to get your relationship clear with Carol had been the downfall of you affair with her.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have.” You replied lamely, Carol sighed dropping her face her voice marked with the vulnerability she felt at the moment.
“I think you know I’m in love with you.” Carol took a deep breath, her lips trembling as she spoke. “I’ve been trying so hard to make you fall for me, I…I knew what I was getting into when I agreed to this relationship, but I always thought…I really want you to come with me, Y/N, let me…let me be the one for you, just as you have become the one for me.”
The room filled with heavy air, and deafening silence.
Your heart shrank at her confession, and your hand stirred at your side wanting to reach out and grab Carol’s hand. The blond-haired woman offered a single smile, but it was quite evident to you that tears were threatening to leave her eyes.
“I’m sorry.” You mumbled passing your hand through your hair. “I was not fair to you, Carol.”
Carol snorted looking out of the window, the waitress chose that moment to bring the food and, as soon as he was gone you continued.
“I do love you, you know? I never thought of this to be jus an affair, and I…” You trailed off not knowing how to explain to Carol that you tired, you really did.
She had always been special, a friend that you could always turn to whenever things went bad or good, she had been there for you when your parents died and when Shuri broke your heart. At first you hadn’t understood why she was so unconditional until, one day while you were hating on yourself and the world she kissed you and the affair was born. It was supposed to be with not attachments, and yet Carol couldn’t help herself once she got to see a side of you she had never seen before. You wished it had been the same for you, but you always thought this relationship was nothing more than two good friends helping one another.
You had been unfair. And Carol didn’t deserve it.
“I wished I had fallen in love with you, Carol. I really do.” You finally confessed, this time around you did stretch your hand and grabbed hers in yours.
Carol lowered her stare to your hand, tempted to just pull away but giving into the comforting touch. She swallowed down her tears, her lips breaking into a bittersweet smile.
“I thought this meeting would be different, you know?” Carol let out a breath, pressing her lips tightly. “I thought perhaps…”
You lifted her hand, leaning in placing a soft kiss on her knuckles.
“I’m still here, you know?”
Carol nodded hesitating before speaking, “so, will you go with me? Will you…give us a chance?”
You dropped your eyes, your mouth opened then close again.
“Would you stay? Would you try to give me a chance?” You asked back, and just for that brief moment Carol was tempted to say ‘yes’, but the truth was she could not stay.
Carol had worked from an early age on her dream to be part of the Airforce, to get on top of her game and surpass that boy’s club that had dominated the Airforce for far too long. She and Maria had been working hard on this, and when she was offered the position, Carol knew what she had to do. Her love for you was there, and you had been the only one that made her doubt her career choices; Carol had been ready to say no, until she talked to Maria again and was faced with her dream and her goals.
I know you love her, Carol, but are you ready to leave your dreams behind for someone, anyone? Are sure this won’t come back later on as a reproach for missed chances?
“I’ve been waiting so long for this.” Carol mumbled; you smiled nodding.
“I know, and you don’t know how proud I am. You deserve this, Carol, and you will always count with me to be there for you.” You hesitated before standing up and putting your chair closer to the blond-haired woman, Carol opened her eyes letting out a chuckled when you finally put your chair closer to her.
“What are you doing?” Carol laughed when you fixed everything so you would be closer to her, without letting go of the hand you had been holding for comfort.
“Just moving closer to you, you have always been my friend, Carol, regardless of what happened I do love you, and you are my friend, I hope you know that.”
Carol melted under your words, she returned her attention to her food before speaking again.
“You are my friend as well, Y/N.” Carol looked back at you, “and that’s why I have to ask, are you…do you…what’s going on with Wanda, Y/N?”
“What? Why?” You leaned back, eyes opening at the sudden question.
Carol rolled her eyes, this time around she did look rather upset.
“Well, it is quite obvious something is happening, I’m mean the last couple of times you couldn’t stop talking about her, and then when we met at the supermarket you were…weird.”
You sputtered shaking your head looking away from Carol, “no, no, nothing, I just…she is…she is the mother of the children America babysits for, nothing else.”
Carol didn’t seem convince by your words, she took a sip from her water pursing her lips.
“Are you sure? I mean you look…” Carol could see this topic was not something you were ready for, you squirmed on your chair emptying the glass of water while playing with your food. “Y/N…”
“Nothing, there is nothing, she is just a neighbour… nothing else.”
The conversation changed afterwards.
For Carol it was quite evident you didn’t want to talk about the topic, and if she was going to be honest, she didn’t want to know. Those two different times she had seen you interact with the redhead; she had seen a glint in your eyes Carol was not familiar with; it was a glance she yearned to obtain from you, but it seemed to just be for a single individual. You hadn’t even look Shuri in such a way, and this was what made Carol hesitated about the situation.
But the time lunch was over, you and Carol had found peace in the conversation. You two found a common topic, and soon business was on the table while she asked for your opinion on the subjects that would soon dominate her life, while you asked about the oncoming meetings.
“I will miss you.” Carol said hugging you tightly, you hugged her back smiling softly while enjoying the woman in your arms.
“I’m going to miss you too, Carol.” She stepped back, but she was still close enough you could feel her warm breath on your face. “Carol…”
Your words were cut off by a pair of lips against yours, the kiss was slow tentative touch of the lips teasing you. Carol was flustered once she stepped back, she offered a smile that you returned with a shake of your head.
“Just a good-bye kiss.” She winked at you turning around and walking towards the parking lot.
You watched her leave, a heavy heart inside your chest wondering if you made the right decision by letting go of a woman that had shown you so much love in the last couple of months. You put your hands in your pockets turning round to walk towards your building, you couldn’t keep her by your side waiting to fall in love with her, that wouldn’t be fair with her, or with you.
With a last glance to the sidewalk, you stepped back and went back to your office, a weight you didn’t know you were carrying on your back finally lifting up and leaving you lighter and open to the world of possibilities you had been trying to bury deep inside your mind, a world of possibilities that had a name of its own: Wanda Maximoff.
________________
“Oh, I didn’t know you were a woman.” The man smiled charmingly at you, his hand stretched out while he glanced around the room as if waiting for someone else to come forth into the meeting. “Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to see you are a beautiful woman, but for some reason I have always thought of Y/L/N instead of your first name.”
You forced a smile at the absurdity of his comment, he merely laughed and went to take a seat to the left side of the table. You crossed stares with Maria who shot you a cold glare as a warning to keep your cool and not to do or say anything incorrectly.
“Right, I bet it is a common mistake.” You sat down as well leaning back on your chair while pointing with your hand the file on the table. “I’m glad I get to know you as well, Mr. Jarvis, I’ve been reading to your proposal and me and my team had a counteroffer for you.”
“Oh, a counteroffer?” Jarvis grabbed the file in his hands, he started reading while ignoring the rest of the room.
You had chosen the conference room of tenth floor for the meeting, the place was packed with only a couple of offices and some storage rooms that were the home of the material used on the production floor and the operations room. It was the most neutral ground you could find, more so after finding out how the man operated. The room was almost empty, no decorations on the walls, with a single window that was left facing the city. You let your eyes wandered to Maria who was sitting at the other end of the table, her hands busy with her tablet and her phone while she too made sure to watch the man closely.
“Everything seems to be in order but, I don’t get it.” He stated pointing to a section in the contract. “It says in here that you would only provide with money if I worked here, is that correct?”
“Yes, I prefer this kind of deals to be in a controlled environment.” You shrugged putting your hands together. “Our contracts go directly under the government, and we cannot risk losing any data because of unknown facilities.”
“My business is very secure, Mrs. Y/L/N.” Jarvis straightened up hardening his stare.
“I don’t have any doubts about that, but you have to understand this is part of the non-negotiables, this is the most secure red in the world and what you intended to do will require such facilities to prevent espionage. I think this is a pretty sweet deal for the both of us.”
Jarvis clenched her jaw close, his cheek burning up with embarrassment at being played at like a child. His eyes drifted to the contract, not only was he being ordered to work in some unknown facilities, he would also be made to sign a non-disclosure clausule and the rights for his technology.
“You are asking for far too much, Mrs. Y/L/N, and I'm afraid I'm not seeing the benefits such a deal will bring to me.” Jarvis leaned forward placing his arm on the table, his hand playing with the pen. “You are not the only company interested in buying this idea, and I have to say their proposals are more seductive…”
“And yet, here you are.” You leaned back against your chair, your eyes examining the man sitting in front of you.
Maria had done a good research of him, a married man he started his business thanks to a small inheritance on his father's part and then to the money left by his father in law. He had built a solid company in the industry of technology and entertainment, nothing too extravagant but enough to make him a notorious and well-adjusted member of society in Westview and Jersey. He had tried to jump into major leagues with a risky inversion that ended up with him almost in bankruptcy. Then, all of a sudden, his business got better and now he was someone selling away his ideas to the best buyer. It was then the investigation started leading Homeland and some federal authorities to be not only after him but also after some red of business people that had dedicated their lives to steal ideas of millions of dollars from others.
You knew you were not risking much in this deal, and quite honestly you would be more than happy if the man decided to go after another buyer, but right now your company was being targeted mainly because you were the number one in the business. Maria had assured you he would bite the bait, people thought your company while one of the most powerful in the world had lost its edge after your dad's death. They were looking for the weakest link to just get their hands in a portion of the business you dealt with. No one could imagine you had been dealing with one crisis after another with an iron fist and good advisors.
Jarvis seemed to think that this was the opportunity he had been waiting for, he didn't seem to like the fact it was you the one he had to deal with. When he first acceded to this he was told he would deal with the old man in charge of Alchemax. He never thought he would need to deal with a young woman, but he could always start the deal before charming his way into her pants and getting something good out of this.
“You are right, here I am.” His whole demanour changed in a second, he opened up his arms, tilting his head he sent a flirty smile your way with his eyes twinkling at you. “I never thought I will be bested at negotiations by such a beautiful and young woman such as yourself, Mrs. Y/L/N, but I can tell you I feel confident of the business we are making today.”
Jarvis grabbed the pen signing the contract with a flourish, you smiled back lifting a single eyebrow to the man who was now trying to be charming and flirty towards you.
“This is the beginning of a great relationship between Alchemax and Vision Enterprise.” You replied standing up while offering your hand to the older man, he stood up as well taking your hand in his and placing a kiss on your knuckles.
You never left the smile off of your face, Jarvis stood dangerously close to you towering above you while pressing you back. Maria was about to stand up but a single gesture from you stopped her. You lifted your head, your eyes going from those eyes to his lips and the smirk in the man's face was all you needed to know at the moment.
“I recognize when I have been bested by someone as beautiful as yourself, what o you say if we go out for dinner and celebrate this new deal?” Jarvis let his thumb brushed the skin of your backhand, he winked at you before continuing. “I know just the place you may like, and perhaps…Who knows? This could be the beginning of something else.”
You giggled, shifting your weight from one foot to the other, the man holding back the victorious smile that was threatening to break on his lips.
“Something like what, Mr. Jarvis?” You asked, lowering your voice, Jarvis this time around straightened up.
“Something more pleasurable for the both of us…”
“Oh, but what about your wife and your children? Are they coming as well, Mr. Jarvis?”
Up until that moment, Jarvis had all but forgotten about Maria sitting at the far end of the table. His shoulders put back, the tension around his eyes heightening the wrinkles in his face, his eyes lost all flirtatious glint while he glared at the other woman. The subject of her wife was a sore one for him, and while he knew these people didn't know the truth it still made his blood boil whenever that fucking bitch was mentioned.
The embarrassment she had made him experiment was something he would never forgive her for, and he had most of his resources dedicated to find Wanda and the twins and make sure they were brought to him before he made sure they would never leave his side.
“Wife and children?” You clicked your tongue stepping back while taking the contract in your hands. “I would love to take your offer, Mr. Jarvis, but I do not mess with married men and, most importantly, with business partners. The facilities are ready for you and your team, and the security access has been approved, so you are free to start tomorrow if you want.”
“Now, wait a moment,” Jarvis stepped in trying to salvage the situation, his face once more red with embarrassment. “My wife and children are away with their grandmother, and I just wanted to make it clear my marriage is more a formality to a poor woman who thought getting pregnant would trap me into her delusions of love…”
You turned to the man, your face à mask of disbelief that soon changed into a blank stare. Jarvis smiled weakly at you, lowering his gaze while putting a hand on his pocket.
“I stayed for the children.”
You were not asking for explanations, but the fact this man was ready to give them told you what type of person he was. Maria had made her way to where you were standing her brows out together while ignoring the heated glare Jarvis sent her way.
“Please, Mr. Jarvis, no need to explain yourself.” You replied, shaking your head offering the same innocent and shy smile you had presented him a moment ago. “it is not my business, but either way, I will ask for a rain check since I already had a commitment this afternoon and was not able to accept your invitation.”
Jarvis sighed in relief putting on his charming smile once more. If he got to score something with you, perhaps he wouldn't need Wanda or the brats to get money out of them.
“Then, let me see what can be arranged for you and I to celebrate at a later date.”
“It's a date, now if you excuse me I have a meeting with the board in five minutes.”
You dropped your smile once the lift doors closed in front of you.
“God, I will need a fucking shower after this.” You shivered in disgust, Mary snorted writing something on her tablet.
“At least Fury is going to be happy.” She replied, shrugging. “It's a win-win situation.”
“Next time we're going to let him kiss your hand and try that creepy smile with you, okay?” You retorted crossing your arms. “The nerve of the man! To think I am straight at all!”
Maria laughed at your comment, she held onto her abdomen shaking her head before leaning back against the walls of the lift. You smiled at her lifting a single accusing finger to her.
“Next time, I would let everyone think you are straight and that Natasha is just a really good friend.” That silenced Maria who blushed profusely, turning away from you.
“That's not funny.” She grumbled.
“Oh, it is if you remember how you and Natasha came to be a couple.”
Maria winced trying to bury the memories in her mind, it wasn't so much she didn't treasure the moment she and Natasha found one another. It was just that it was also the most embarrassing time in her life and remembering That moment made her cringe from time to time.
“Anyway, I found the man disgusting, and I considered his wife.” You commented lightly. “He really is quite the character, you could find something else about his family?”
“No, it is a closed file, so I will need special clearance to see it.” Maria waited for a moment but you shook your head.
“No, it doesn't matter anyway, Fury is after the man for tax evasion and espionage. We don't even know what really happened with his wife.”
“Very well.” Maria exited the lift after you, afternoon was already falling and the lights of yellow and orange decorated the sky giving way to the darkness of the night. “Miguel just finished putting the security measures on the red we gave them, and everyone is already aware of what to do.”
“Good then, let's get this one last meeting over so I can go home to my sister…”
“... And your neighbour.” Maria smirked mischievously at you, her amusement growing when your feet falter at the mention of Wanda. “Are you going to tell her you and Carol are no longer together?”.
“Why would I do that?” You replied sharply trying to hide the blush on your face.
“Oh you know? Because you two are friends and there may be a possibility she wants to jump your bones?”
“God you and Natasha are going to be the death of me someday!”
Maria laughed following you inside the main hall towards the conference room. Maria found it amusing how Natasha picked up on this kind of things, now that she and Hope had talked about the topic and that Maria had seen your reactions and the way you talked about Wanda she had to agree that there was something there. Whatever it was, it brought a silly smile to your lips, it made you more relax and open. Maria was certaines you were not ready to admit these changes, or even the implications of your emotions, but there was time and perhaps these moments you were sharing with Maximoff while planning the Winter Festival were the push you needed.
There was only one thing that was worrying Maria and that was  the truth behind Jarvis and Wanda. She hated lying to you, and even more so when someone as important as Wanda was for you was involved. But Natasha had assured her this was the best way to trap the man, and to make sure Wanda and her children were protected while Jarvis faced justice for a long time.
Y/N cannot know anything, Maria, please, she is already involved with Wanda as it is and knowing this could make her act harshly and we need to do this with care to trap the bastard.
“Anyway, I don't even think she… Likes me that way,” there is a hint of regret in your tone, your hand hovering above the knob of the door, you licked your lips frowning deeply before turning to Maria. “Not that it matters at all or anything just… WeWe're good friends, you know? And she is straight as an arrow… So,yeah…”
There was a moment of silence, Maria narrowed her eyes at you but you put on your best smile before opening the door and entering the conference room, whatever you were thinking or even experimenting at the moment completely forgotten as you took the reins of the meeting. Maria storing away this moment, she knew she would need to have a serious talk with Natasha once she got home.

Meeting the Twins
Pairing: Wanda/Reader Summary: Your relationship with Wanda is progressing and she wants you to meet her kids Warnings: None Word Count: 662 A/N: This is a request from @xxxtwilightaxelxxx I did just realize that I didn’t actually use the dialog prompt the request came with but the concept is there so I hope you enjoy it anyway!!
You always told yourself that dating someone with kids was off the table. You weren’t someone who particularly liked kids, and you definitely wouldn’t say you were good with kids but when you met Wanda you immediately knew she’d be the exception. You fell head over heels for her almost instantly when you met her.
You were so much in love with her that you were standing in the toy aisles of Target trying to decide what would be something that would get two boys to not hate you immediately. You know how much her kids meant to Wanda and if they told her you had to go, you would be gone before you had time to blink.
You had found two small lego sets, remembering Wanda saying they had recently been really getting into them. While you had considered getting them one of the giant sets, you didn’t want to make it look like you were trying too hard, so instead you picked two different small Star Wars ship sets figuring those would go over well while not being too over the top.
You were sitting in your car trying to talk yourself up to going to the front door. You knew it was a little ridiculous to be this nervous about meeting someone’s kids but you just really wanted this night to go over well. You felt like you were a teenager again having to meet someone's mom and the panic that came along with that. You finally decided you had to go in when you noticed one of the boys peeking at you through the blinds.
Before you could even knock, he was ripping open the door. “Do you always sit in your car for 10 minutes before coming into someone’s house?” He asked you with a laugh.
“Sometimes, I tend to drive too fast and am always too early” You chuckle awkwardly, looking past him to see if you could spot Wanda.
“Dear, it’s not nice to tease our guest” Wanda scolded her son, turning to you she smiled. “I think it’s cute that you do that.”
“Thanks,”
“This is Billy,” Wanda gestured to the boy who had just been making fun of you. “Tommy!”
Suddenly the other twin appeared beside her, sliding on the hardwood floor in his socks.
“It’s nice to meet you both,” You smiled at them both.
“What’s in the Target bag?” Tommy asked
“Oh! Well I was doing a little shopping for myself and I saw these two lego sets and I thought you two might like them, so I picked them up!” You quickly started to pull them out of the bag to show them what you had picked out. The boys both cheered immediately in excitement, each rushing to grab one out of your hands. You were relieved that they didn’t immediately start fighting over who got which ones.
“You really didn’t have to get them anything,” Wanda said softly, a loving look in her eyes and her gaze shifted from you to the boys.
“Now boys, what do you say?”
“Thank you!” They both chimed in unison. You chucked at that.
“You’re very welcome.” You smiled, “Oh and don’t think I didn’t get anything for you,” You turned to Wanda and pulled out a bottle of wine.
“Oh wow, you know how to be a good house guest don’t you.” She smiled, taking the bottle from you and leading you to the kitchen.
“Well I want to make sure you keep me around.” You joked.
“Oh I have a feeling we won’t be getting rid of you any time soon,” Wanda smiled before pouring you both a glass of wine. You headed back into the living room to help the boys with their new lego sets that they were both already working on getting put together.
Your night was full of laughter, and while kids were always your thing, you could absolutely see this family growing on you very quickly.

Oh, the Irony
Wanda/R, Nat/R
Summary: Natasha’s got a crush, but she doesn't realize you're taken. Wanda asks you out, but you're both not sure what everyone will think.
Warnings: Nat and Wanda are both simps. Pinch of angst and hints of fluff!
Authors Note: Def wanna do a part two, but I'm not sure who’d be endgame... Lemme know where y’all wanna see this go!

Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was starting to become a game. While a tinge of guilt was still calling to you from the back of your mind the alcohol drowned out the real origin of the feeling. All you seemed to be aware of was the stolen glances between the two of you and how she always seemed to move closer. Like a moon in the gravitational pull of a planet.
Stuck in orbit, but never colliding.
Garnering subtle attention and adoration was normally something you’d ignore, but it was difficult when her wandering eyes slowly took in your outfit. Red. Her favorite color.
“Trust me, it's really hard,” Steve had been talking to you about how he comes up with different training routines depending on the recruits skill and aptitude. Not that you were actually interested.
“That’s what she said!” Tony skated into the conversation circle like he always did. Steve rolled his eyes at Tony’s antics while a laugh slipped past your lips. All Natasha could think about was how that sound left a fluttering in her stomach.
“Perfect timing, Stark. I think the newbies ears might’ve fallen off if he kept going,” Clint slung an arm over your shoulder like a protective brother. “And then I’d be stuck having to teach them how to sign,” he joked.
Of course everyone, besides Tony and Natasha, were surprised when you started an oh so familiar movement with your hands calling him an asshole. Jokingly of course, but it still got the point across.
“My older sister was born deaf so we grew up signing at home,” You explained to your new mentor, Steve. That's when Natasha finally let her eyes leave you and drift over to Clint. Her best friend with an all knowing grin on his face. Not long after they both split off from the group as everyone took their turn asking for you to teach them.
When the two best friends finally made it to the empty kitchen of the compound Clint went to the fridge and got out two more beers. After lazily hoping onto the counter next to Nat and using the edge to pop the cap off they both took a drink in silence.
“They seem nice,” Clint didn't have to clarify that he was talking about you.
“Yeah, they do,” Natasha said quietly. She hadn't know you that long. You’d only started coming around the compound to train a few weeks ago and neither of you had a full conversation with the other that wasn't strictly work related.
You assumed it was because Natasha was a very private person and she couldn't fault you for thinking that. In fact, it was a very true statement... She also just wasn't sure how to talk to you no matter how much she wanted to.
“You gonna do anything about the way you're staring at them? I could see the drool from a mile away,” Her best friend exaggerated. She playfully bumped her shoulder into his and took another drink after she shrugged.
“I don't know what you're talking about, bird-brain,” the redhead deflected with the least amount of effort.
“C’mon! I could be your wingman...” Clint offered with a smirk. Nat just shook her head in response. An untamed smile daring to stay on her lips.
The party eventually died down and that meant one thing. Inner circle after party! There were many ways that this could go down and up until this point Natasha had a small plan.
She wanted to sit next to you in hopes that maybe you'd make an inside joke together. Or maybe you'd do that thing where your hand would momentarily land on her thigh in acknowledgment when she’d say one of her quippy one liners. She wanted to make you laugh. Natasha wanted you to notice her.
The problem arose when everyone had taken there usual spots and she was informed you'd already turned in for the night. Natasha was too focused on the empty space where you should be to notice the absence of another that night.
The next morning she found you in the kitchen making breakfast. Natasha stayed quiet as she started her routine of making the perfect cup of coffee to start her day. She racked her brain for casual conversation starters, but none of them felt truly genuine to say.
“Hey, Natasha?” You pulled the spy from her thoughts and she hummed. “I made way too many pancakes, do you want any?” Your hand held out a plate with a decent sized stack on it with Natasha quickly received.
“Yeah, they smell delicious,” Nat commented with a friendly smile.
“The secret is to not over mix the batter so that they stay fluffy,” You said, stacking more pancakes onto two other plates. Natasha was too focused on what you were saying to notice.
She has sat at the counter and started to dig in. Not that she liked pancakes all that much. It was something to do with the amount of sugar people usually added, but they were from you so she’d happily indulge. She was halfway through her breakfast and coffee when you'd finished cleaning up.
That was when she saw you making your exit with both plates. In nothing but an oversized shirt and boxers. It didn't take a spy to realize what was happening. Her stomach turned and she couldn't take another bite. You frowned to yourself later when you saw the remaining pile of pancakes in the trash.
“She could've just said she didn't want them,” Your voice was muffled into Wanda’s sweater as she held you. You knew you were overreacting, but you really thought that this morning would finally be your chance to start a friendship with the spy.
Everyone had always talked about how brutal she could be, but you saw the way she cared about her friends. You adored the way they all supported each other and you desperately wanted to be apart of that too. You just couldn't figure out why it mattered to you so much. Why were you always trying to catch any shred of approval from her?
“Hey, she accepted them and maybe she just didn't want to hurt your feelings,” Wanda reasoned and she was more than likely right. If Natasha didn't want to try and be friends she would’ve made it clear by now, right?
“You’re right... I’m sorry for being dumb,” you whispered, but Wanda was having none of it.
“Hey, don't you ever say that about yourself,” She softly reprimanded. “That’s my amazing partner you're talking about!” She leaned back to make eye contact before leaving a kiss on your forehead and pulling you back into a tight hug.
“Is this you asking to be my girlfriend?” You asked, head still tucked underneath her chin.
“Yeah, I guess it is,” Both of you were smiling to yourselves. Hearts pounding out of your chests.
The next couple of days Natasha spent all of her spare time with the guys. Not to avoid you, but to sate her curiosity. It was a question that kept her confused since she first thought it. Which of her teammates had you already fallen into bed with?
It couldn't be Steve. He took his roll as your mentor too seriously to mess with. Clint was out of the headcount for obvious reasons. Tony had Pepper. Vision might have the capacity for feelings, but they only seemed to be for Wanda so it couldn't be him. Sam hadn't even met you yet!
Thor could've been a possibility... If he hadn't spent four hours asking Natasha how a one night stand didn't mean standing in one spot from the time the sun sets to the time it rises in the morning. Bruce. Oh God, if it was Bruce she’d have to tear her eyes out and rinse her insides with bleach.
As a reprieve from her harrowing realization that her crush is probably sleeping with her ex, Natasha took the day to spend time training with Wanda. It had been a while since the two had caught up and Natasha found herself eager for something familiar. It was a habit of Wanda’s to talk about her crush.
Natasha admired the puppy love between the two and how much time they spent together. It made sense and Natasha knew Wanda needed someone more stable in her life. Of course, Wands never mentioned Vision by name, but Natasha didn't find it difficult to fill in the blanks. How else would she have a literal robot be head over heels for her?
The training started off the same way that it normally did. Light stretching and walking a few laps around the track before starting a 20 minute jog. While Wanda didn't have the extensive physical capabilities of everyone else, she still held her own and was fairly adverse to giving up. A quality that the spy admired about her friend. When they stopped to take a water break their normal routine kicked into motion.
“So, it finally happened! We’re finally dating now,” Wanda said, smiling to herself. Natasha couldn't help pulling her friend into a hug.
“I’m so happy for you! Are you gonna make it official and break the news to the others?” Nat asked.
“Not for awhile. We’re still gauging how everyone might... React...” Wanda pursed her lips and her eyes were clouded by deep thought.
“Hey, we’re a family. Maybe not a real one, but we’ll be here and support you all the same,” It was moments like these that reminded Natasha of what being an older sister would be like in the real world. As a normal everyday person.
“Steve might flip his lid so we’re keeping it quiet for now,” The younger woman shrugged.
“That’s fair. He is from the 1940’s so it might take him a bit to warm up to you and Vis but-” Natasha was abruptly cut off.
“Wait, me and who?” Wanda looked far too confused and Natasha paused. The dots obviously not connecting for either of them.
“Aren't you and Vision... Like... A thing?” Natasha asked. She was rarely wrong in her assumptions, and this was definitely an outcome she didn't see coming.
“Ew, no! I’d never,” Wanda grimaced at the thought before letting out a light chuckle. Her hand reaching behind her neck and scratching awkwardly. “I meant Y/n,” Wanda glanced up in fear before realizing how ridiculous that was. If Natasha was quick to assume she could fall for a robot then being in a queer relationship would be a breeze to accept.
Only it wasn't. The moment Wanda said those words it clicked. The night of the party, the fact that you made pancakes (one of Wanda’s favorites). She thought the oversized shirt looked familiar. Wanda immediately saw though the fake smile and forced congratulations that she received. Something was definitely wrong.
“That’s great Wands!” Natasha forced out. She thought Bruce was the worst case scenario and she was wrong. It was Wanda the entire time.

m/o: mom’s name
Tumblr media
It’s been a whole year since Wanda and y/n had started dating, months of friendship until a love between them was confessed, The love they had for each other was unlike any other love, Wanda cared so much for y/n and the way y/n loved Wanda made her feel so safe and comfortable. She hadn’t felt like that since she lost Pietro, but meeting y/n was the piece she needed to feel complete again.
But there was something that really made Wanda feel a little insecure…she had never met y/n’s family. She had heard about them, y/n saying her mother had called, a cousin had left a message, an aunt asking for her, etc. But y/n had never asked Wanda to go to her house with her. Never. Not even in a phone call. Not too long ago, y/n had asked Wanda to move in together, Wanda had agreed but she still felt she needed to meet those who formed part of y/n’s life. Nat knew them, why couldn’t she meet them at least once?
“So…how is your mother?” Wanda asked as she looked up at y/n while she took a sip of her coffee.
Y/n looked up at Wanda and shrugged. “She’s okay. She’s been busy.”
Wanda nodded. “Right. I get that.”
Y/n nodded as she went to grab her coffee. Nat looked at y/n and furrowed her brows. “Isn’t the annual meeting coming? In your mom’s house.”
Y/n looked back at Nat and her eyes widened as she stared at her. “I…I don’t know.”
“I thought you had said yes.”
“Are you going to a party with your family, and you didn’t think about telling me that?” Wanda looked between Nat and y/n.
“I…well…I mean.”
“Nice.” Wanda stood up and left the kitchen.
Y/n sighed as she looked at Nat. “Seriously?”
“I thought she knew! I’m sorry…”
“I just…Nat…you know them.”
Natasha nodded as she looked at you. “I know.”
Y/n sighed. “I’ll go talk to Wanda.”
Y/n went to their room and knocked on the door, the door suddenly opening alone. Y/n saw Wanda laying on the bed hugging a pillow, she smiled a little and walked to the bed, sitting right beside her.
“I’m sorry. For not telling you.”
“I just want to know why you don’t want me to meet them.” Wanda looked up at her. “You told me you were out already. Is it…me? Am I the real problem? Because of what-“
“No! No…Wanda…it's not you, my love.” Y/n ran her fingers through Wanda’s hair. “I didn’t know it was that important…”
Wanda chuckled. “We are going to move in together very soon. Don’t you think it’s important?”
Y/n nodded. “Yes. That’s why I want you…to come with me.” She smiled a little.
Wanda smiled. “You serious?”
“Yeah. We can go. Next Saturday, we’ll have to leave early because it’s a little far from here.”
Wanda sat up and jumped on her, kissing her lips. “Sounds great, detka.” She giggled as she hugged y/n.
____________________
Wanda had been so excited that day that she woke up before y/n, choosing a pretty dress, picking her best jewelry and all, she had even cooked a cake to impress them. Y/n could see how excited she actually was, which made her heart melt, but it also made y/n so nervous and anxious, she didn’t know how her family would act. Almost 2 hrs of driving, they finally arrived to y/n’s old house. Wanda wanted to leave the car as soon as y/n parked, but y/n grabbed her hand, making Wanda look at her.
“So…there’s something I wanna tell you.”
Wanda looked at her curious. “Okay…what is it?”
“My…family is kinda…harsh. They are not exactly like me, I’m the black sheep. So I want you to be prepared.”
Wanda smiled as she leaned in and kissed y/n’s lips softly. “It’ll be okay. We got this.”
Y/n nodded. “Yes…”
Y/n sighed as she left the car and rapidly went to open Wanda’s door, offering her hand and helping Wanda step out. They walked hand in hand to the house, y/n could feel her blood running through her whole body as they got closer and closer to the house. She took a moment before she knocked on the door, feeling suddenly unsafe. The moment her mom opened it, y/n’s heart dropped, faking a smile as she saw her.
“Y/n!! You’re here! Oh, hun. I thought you wouldn’t make it. They are all here and-“ She then looked at Wanda and raised her brows. “Is this your girlfriend?”
“Hi, mom.” Y/n nodded as she swallowed. “Yes. This is…Wanda…Wanda Maximoff.”
Wanda smiled. “Hi, Mrs. y/l/n. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” She let go of y/n’s hand to shake her mom’s.
“Oh come over here! Welcome! And call me m/n, we are family!” Y/n’s mom rapidly hugged Wanda, laughing as she did.
Y/n felt so uncomfortable already, but the smile on Wanda’s face was everything, she couldn’t ruin this moment, not when y/n knew exactly what her family could say or do. They went ahead and walked into the house. Everyone greeted both of them so happily and excitedly, it was almost unreal. Y/n’s mom went ahead and took Wanda around the house, introducing her and laughing with her.
Y/n tried to stay in a corner, ignoring everyone’s stares, she knew sooner or later the comments would come. She jumped slightly as she felt a hand on her shoulder, hearing Wanda giggling at the reaction.
“My love, what are you doing here? You should be with me. Your mom is the sweetest, she introduced me to everyone, everyone is so nice.” Wanda wrapped her arms around you as she kissed your cheek.
Y/n chuckled nervously as she nodded. “Right. They…they are all nice.”
Wanda furrowed her brows. “Oh c’mon, detka. Join me, I’m sure they’ve missed you.” She smiled. “I’ll go help your mom seat the table outside. Meet me there when you’re ready?”
Y/n nodded, smiling as Wanda kissed her cheek before leaving. She rolled her eyes and leaned her head back on the wall. All of this was way too weird, her family didn’t even talk, and her mother was…nice to Wanda. It’s all that mattered.
It had been a few minutes since they had sat down at the table, her mother had sat them down beside her, saying she wanted to have them close to her. Y/n laughed every now and then as she heard everyone’s stories, but the uncomfortableness was still there.
“So, y/n…how did you get to meet such a cutie?” Her cousin said as he smiled, looking at Wanda.
Y/n felt her blood boiling as she stared at him. “I got lucky. Feels like I won in life.” She looked at Wanda and smiled as Wanda placed her hand on top of hers.
“I won. The piece I needed in my life.” Wanda smiled softly.
“Well, glad you broke up with that…girl. What was her name?” M/n looked around the table and laughed as she heard different names.
“Kate…”
“Oh yes! She was nice but…you didn’t deserve her.”
Wanda furrowed her brows as she looked at m/n, thinking back at how y/n had said that she never had a bad relationship, they just didn’t work. She looked back at y/n and noticed the sad look on her face.
“She was way too good for you.” Her aunt dared to say as she laughed along with the whole family.
“Oh yes, Kate was so pretty and such a nice girl. Y/n had to ruin it of course but…now she has you Wanda…hopefully she’s not causing you any disturbance. My daughter can be…a little too much.”
“Mom…please stop.” Y/n whispered softly as she looked down.
“I’ve told you not to whisper. Speak loudly.”
“Please stop.” Y/n looked at her, feeling her eyes getting teary. “Can we not talk about this?”
“Oh but there’s always something to talk about you, y/n. How you left school because of your ‘mental health’. You not wanting to work with Kate’s mom because it was too much. I have no doubt you’ve been failing again in life.” M/n laughed.
“If she causes you trouble, Wanda, our family has a lot of good girls and boys. We do not judge preferences here.” Her aunt laughed alone m/n, making the rest of the family laugh.
“But you judge your family?” Wanda suddenly snapped.
Y/n looked at Wanda surprised. “Wanda…”
“How dare you talk to her like that? Have you heard yourself?” Wanda stared at m/n. “It’s your daughter.”
“And I accept that my daughter is a mess. She easily gives up, she has failed us. I recognize a failure when I see it.” Y/n rapidly stood up and ran inside the house. “I forgot weak.” They all laughed and started making comments about her.
“You’re all unbelievable.” Wanda’s eyes turned red as she felt her blood boiling, feeling so mad, she didn’t know what to do or say. “Y/n is the best person I have ever met in my life. She has loved me even with my flaws because I am not perfect as you think I am. But at least, I am a much better person than all of you together.” She stood up. “And you know what? Y/n has done an amazing job. She’s an agent and does what all of you could never do. “She shook her head. “You’re all shitty people, y/n do not deserve any of this, and I regret coming. You won’t ever see us again. Go to hell.” Wanda moved her hand and made their drinks fall on their laps, making most of them scream. “And enjoy the cake.
Wanda walked inside the house, as she passed through the kitchen, she saw the cake and moved her fingers to add a little ingredient to it. She noticed the front door open. She slowly walked to the car and noticed y/n sitting on the passenger's seat, so without saying a word, she sat on the driver's seat and grabbed the keys from y/n’s bag, starting the car rapidly so they could leave.
____________________
Y/n went into their room as soon as they entered the compound, not saying a word even though everyone was in the living room and had noticed when they arrived. Natasha stared at Wanda with a worrying face and Wanda only shook her head. Wanda decided to sit with Natasha for a moment as she explained, wanting to give y/n a moment for herself.
An hour or so passed and Wanda had finally gone upstairs to their room, opening to the door quietly. Her heart broke when she heard y/n still crying, regretting how she had pushed her to take her to her mom’s.
“Y/n?” Wanda asked quietly as she placed y/n’s bag on the small sofa they had. “Can I…”
“They are right, you know?” Y/n sobbed. “I do not deserve you.”
Wanda furrowed her brows and shook her head. “What? Of course you do. Don’t listen to them.” Wanda walked to the bed and hugged y/n. “You’re everything I need. I couldn’t be me without you.” She sighed. “You’re my life…and my love. You’re my home.”
Y/n looked up at Wanda as she sobbed. “I knew this would happen.”
“I’m so sorry I made you go.”
“You didn’t know. I should’ve told you.” Y/n shook her head. “But they never believe me because my mom is so fake…all of them. Until they just can’t hold it anymore.”
“She’s a bitch.”
Y/n chuckled sadly. “Yes. She is.”
Wanda kissed her forehead as y/n moved to lay on Wanda and hugged her tightly. “You don’t have to ever see her again. I made that clear.”
Y/n looked at her confused. “What…what did you do?”
Wanda shrugged. “Just…a little something.” She smirked. “They might get stomachache though…”
“Wanda!” Y/n laughed softly. “Thank you.”
Wanda laughed as she kissed her nose. “I love you…so much. And you’ll always have me, no matter what.”
Y/n smiled as she kissed her, pulling her even closer. “You’re my safe place. And I love you so much.”
“I love you more.” Wanda smiled. “Let’s forget about them and let’s have a movie night. Tomorrow we can go shopping for our new home.”
Y/n nodded. “Sounds great. Let’s watch a movie but…kiss me first.” She bit her lip as she smiled.
Wanda chuckled as she leaned in and kissed her lips softly, hugging her tightly.

A/N: So this is the prologue of the story War of Hearts. Enjoy :)
______________________________________________________
“I’ve been doing everything you’ve told me, it’s not my fault that the stupid sparkles don’t appear.”
And let’s just say that keeping moving your hand like a mime for what feels like hours and watching other wizards looking at you mockingly wasn’t helping a lot.
“You are very impatient and that won’t lead you anywhere.” Wong was sitting behind you sipping his tea of who knows which mystical or magical specie; he would be walking on the training camp helping other students or warriors and stop to talk and giving them some advice, other he would only sight and nod in disagreement, but now that it was your turn of being watch, well… Sometimes he would cover his laughter with a fake cough, you didn’t know what you were doing wrong, if a kid that didn’t have any idea of the mystical arts could open some portals, why couldn’t you?
Maybe if you didn’t drink and started to teach me something useful.
“Maybe if you paid attention and took a moment to breathe, we would be having a whole different conversation” With one movement you were your ass was in the ground and Wong was holding one of your hands. “And you need to learn how to fortify your mind”
Your cheeks turn red, I mean, this wasn’t the worst embarrassing moment of your life, at least of what you remembered, but definitely wasn’t good when the person that took you in and decided to take care of you knew you were mocking him. While he was still holding you, you gained momentum and got back on your feet. You shook the dust off your ass and returned doing the same exercise.
________________________________________________________________
Where am I?
“Wh-… you?”
I don’t feel my legs...
“Kid, I nee-… Can you-”
Light and shadows were before you but none of them made any sense.
While your brain couldn’t process the images your eyes were sending to it, you decided to focus on taking a deep breath.
How wrong of you.
The moment you started to breathe in, you felt how the air started to burn the trail from your nose to your lungs, like fire or little knives were cutting through you, you tried to move but only resulting in making you panic even more, your arms and legs weren’t responding. You once again try to gain some focus on the images and the shadows that now were appearing in front of you but when trying to open your mouth, instantly the touch of another person on your chin stops you.
“Don’t!”
“Christine, I need her to speak!
“She can’t speak if she’s dead! So kindly, stop ordering my in my E.R and fucking wait outside Stephen”
With a lot of effort and pain you finally move you left hand a little, you didn’t know if it was the action or if you actually get to touch her, but the woman attention return to you, she smiled at you with petty in her eyes but still with the sweetest smile you’ve ever had.
“Please don’t worry, we’ll take care of you”
A hand on your shoulder brings you back to reality and when you pay attention to you hands you see how the sparks were now actually doing the form of a circle. When you tried to do it bigger or at least try to make a little one with functionality the sparks disappeared and angrily you took the ring from your hand.
“Visualize”
As if you never heard those words before, you only rolled your eyes in response.
“Look beyond the world in front of you” The words slipping sassily out of your mouth. “I know!”
“You may know them, but you don’t understand them” , making a pause as the man walks in front of you. “And there’s a great difference in between”
Making it look effortless the man started to move his hand in a circle and opening a portal you could see Christine on the other side. You look at the man in front of you and see the half smile when he looks at the woman.
“I think you should really start talking instead of showing off… Stephen.” You give him a little palm before running towards the woman that was already expecting you with her arms wide open.
You were saved eight months ago by these people and even though you were frustrated because of your late recovery and lack of advances in your technique, you were really grateful to them.
After recovering, “happiness” was not important to you, having had third-degree burns, broken ribs and even part of your vocal cords burned, you were able to recover, and yet, while your revering these people decide to stand by your side, a woman that everyday read to you and started to teach you the basic stuff of this world, a man that took you in and give you a chance to start over a new life and a smart ass that would help heal your wounds while mocking and teasing you wasn’t something that bad.
Happiness is something you decided to never take for granted.
You thought happiness was something only a few had the luxury to know, and you were not that far from the truth…
“I only feel you”
Why the words that once brought me joy,
“Mom, can you cover me?”
were now the reason for my despair…

Do not hesitate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: After two years of relationship you and Wanda finally got on a well-deserved holidays. You have plans, but at some point you get sidetracked and she has to redirect you where she wants you to be.
Pairing: Wanda/Female!Reader
Warnings: None, just fluff, suggestive themes and reader being foolish.
Author's note: This particular story was born out of something and someone I met recently. I dedicated this story to her even though I know she would never read it and it is part of those unrequired love stories we sometimes found around.
Since I wanted it out there, I changed the name to that of Wanda because R and Wanda deserve a hapy ending.
Do not hesitate
The first thing you noticed were the heavy drops of cold rain hitting the glass of your window.
The lady in the PA was informing the rest of the passengers of the oncoming arrival to the Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia. There was a shiver of anticipation running down your body, your eyes turned directly to the window to see the silver waters of the lagoon that has surrounded the City of Bridges ever since it was established by the time Rome was still an Empire.
Your eyes followed the sweet movement of the water, the sight of boats and poles all through the waters leading to the city that had been hidden behind the rain and the fog of the early morning of February. Your heart beating with anticipation, the train travelling down the bridge getting closer and closer to its final destination.
“You look like a child that has never seen the sea before.” The sweet voice of Wanda called your attention, her eyes gleaming amusedly while her lips drew that smile that had always made you forget your own name.
“I have never seen such a sight before.” You replied without losing the smile, her hand wrapped tenderly around yours and you had to wonder how it was possible that with the smallest of gestures from her part your heart still leaped with affection.
“You have seen this before, doofus.” She snorted when you placed a hand on your chest, the faux offensive gesture made her snigger while shaking her head.
“Excuse me, but every time I am here, it is as if it was the first time…” You turned to the window once more, this time around the different buildings and the station are starting to fill the imagery. “I love coming here, you know?”
Her features softened lightly, and without you even noticing her eyes took a closer look at your frame. The tug on your hand made you turn, and soon you found yourself being kissed with tenderness. You couldn’t help it but leaned in and kissing her back, last time you were in Venice life had been different and your sister had been your only company.
Now, looking into deep brown eyes, you have to wonder how you got so lucky in life to be here with the one woman you never thought you would find.
She rolled her eyes poking playfully at your head before standing up, her hand still pretty much wrapped around yours.
“Sometimes, you think loudly, and you think too much. Let’s move it, it is raining, and I hope you can prepare me a warm bath before going out into the city.”
“God, have you always been this bossy before?” You chuckled wincing playfully at her light punch on your shoulder, both of you lowering the bags from the overhead rack.
“If I remember correctly, you fell in love with my bossiness.” Her smugness could be read in her face, she winked at you, and you just snorted following her out of the car knowing she was right.
She was always right.
The city of Venice was a world of its own creation.
The streets were made of stone, and the edifications spoke of a past that reverberated in the present while the tourists and the locals filled out the streets in the midst of a rainy morning in February. The sound of music and laughter mixed with the conversation and the preparation for the Carnival that would start the next day.
“This is amazing.” The overwhelmed statement was followed by a beaming smile while her eyes swept around the plaza leading to the Rialto Bridge. “You can actually see everyone is getting ready for the Carnival. But those masks must be expensive at this time of the year, right?”
You broke your stance, glancing around while covering the flush of embarrassment in your cheeks. She almost caught you staring, your heart breaking through your chest when you grabbed your hand trying to get your attention.
“Did you hear me? Or where you checking out the group over there?” Her teasing was quite obvious, and she pointed with her head a group of young women all talking animatedly in a corner.
You opened your eyes shaking your head, but she just chuckled shrugging while glancing back at them then at you.
“It’s okay if you were watching, you know? They’re quite attractive, the brunette one seems to be your type.”
“Why do you think she is my type?” You sputtered glancing at the young woman she was mentioning.
The woman was beautiful, soft features adorned with wavy, light brown locks and a huge smile breaking into her face. You blinked a couple of times, she looked taller than you and her body was of average build.
“You’re staring again.” She mumbled looking away while giving her back at you.
There was a single moment in which something changed around you, there was a tension you were not sure where was it coming from. Wanda walked away to one of the stores glancing at the merchandise, her eyes trying to focus on the articles inside the store instead of your reflection. You approached her placing a hand on her shoulder, after a moment she turned to you and her eyes had a hardened glint with a stretch of her lips.
“I wasn’t staring at them before you mentioned them.” You clarify, furrowing your words knowing that your explanations were not necessary but having the need to make sure she knew you had eyes for no one that wasn’t her. “Are you jealous?”
It was a simple question, but one that made you think this was something that had never happened before. Jealousy had not been part of your life for quite some time, for everyone it was quite obvious you were smitten by the woman standing before you. And while you might feel it from time to time, it had been quite innocent leaving as suddenly as it had come.
But she…she had never been vocal about those emotions.
Now, though…
She clenched her jaw looking away, pursing her lips while trying to focus her attention on the closest store.
“Should I be?” She replied harshly, her cheeks burning lightly at the simple show of weakness.
If there was something you had learned in the time you two had gotten to know one another, it was that she hated to be this vulnerable. She was a logical person, certain emotions were natural but should not transcend the scope of her own brief moments of weakness. She knew who she was, what she had, and her place in the world.
This didn’t mean she didn’t hesitate…or that, from time to time, she didn’t wonder…she didn’t question herself…
The main difference between you and her was that you wore your heart on your sleeve, while she hid it from everyone. Sometimes, including herself.
You chuckled, then broke into a fit of giggles that were your worst decision at the moment.
Her eyes opened wide, lifting her chin to the sky she turned around and started walking away.
You chuckled some more sprinting towards her, your hand on her shoulder only to have her reject your touch. You winced, laughing had been a bad thing to do when she was being this vulnerable. But you couldn’t help it. Really.
“Wait, wait…love…”
“What?” She stopped death on her tracks facing you until you had to stopped yourself from crashing against her.
Her face was a mask of emotionless danger, her eyes gleaming dangerously at you but otherwise there was no other indication that told you she was ready for you to continue with the laughter. You gulped lifting your hands in a gesture of peace.
“Did you know that you are kinda cute when angry and jealous?”
She rolled her eyes, huffing before walking away again.
You chuckled shaking your head, you knew you would pay dearly for that. But she did look cute, and it was the first time after two years of relationship that something like this happened, so better take advantage of that.
Wanda reached the bridge just in time for you to wrap your arms around her waist. You smiled placing a kiss on her cheek, the tension on her body was an indication she was still mad but not indifferent to your proximity. You kissed her cheek again nuzzling your nose on her neck.
“Did you know I’m so in love with you that I was actually checking you out and imagine what my life would be like if I have never met you?” You whispered in her ear, your lips drawing a smirk at her shiver and the intake of breath when your breath and lips teased her ear.
“You know you can’t talk your way out of your idiocy?” She replied though didn’t make any attempt to get away from you.
You took that gesture as a victory on your part, stepping away a little you wrapped your hand around hers walking down the bridge with a huge smile on your face. This trip couldn’t be any better, your eyes glancing around the place before putting her closer to you.
“I know you think my idiocy is cute from time to time.” You replied, tilting your head putting her closer to you. “And, I’m not talking my way out of this…I was really looking at you. You are looking beautiful today.”
She tried to hold back her smile. Once more she rolled her eyes but this time around, she leaned in pecking your lips.
“You better take me someplace nice, and I will think about rewarding you for such a sweet talk.”
The first day in Venice was filled with long walks down the streets and small talk in between.
It was quite curious how even after all this time, small talk about work and life could happen in such a natural way. The rain had not stopped all through the day, and the cold had been almost unbearable if it wasn’t for your clothes and the tea and coffee you both consume all through the day stroll. Night had fallen by the time you reached the shores of Saint Mark’s Square; the yellow lights surrounding the place alongside the fog took you back in time. The stories about vampires and ghouls at the tip of your tongue, but the woman walking beside you was not someone that would enjoy such folklore stories at the moment.
“Are you alright?” You finally asked, your brows knitted together in concern at her shiver.
“I’m tired, and cold.” She mumbled, though she offered a weak smile. “But I know you want to walk in this weather we could…”
You cup her cheeks in your hands, leaning in to place a kiss on her forehead before placing your scarf around her neck.
“We could go back to the AirBnB and get a warm bath, something to eat and watch some TV while I give you a nice massage and get ready for tomorrow.” You wrapped your arms around her, whatever form of protests she was going to manifest cut short by your lips placing themselves on hers.
“But…” She chuckled when you kissed her again, and again whenever she tried to speak. “Let me talk!”
“Okay, Lyubov’, go ahead.” She crunched up her nose at your nickname for her, but didn’t make any attempt to walk away from you.
“I know that you are dying to see the creepiest places in here while in this weather, and that you wanted to keep strolling around…” She tried to make a point, though by the look on your face she knew she had failed.
“You really look tired, and you look cold.” The sound of chatter surrounded the both of you, the lights were enough to make of this a scene pulled out of a movie. “Let’s go back, and tomorrow, and the day after that, and so one will be another day.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
The room was warm, and the sound of the TV filled the room in a sweet lullaby she enjoyed for a moment before succumbing to the sweet embrace of sleep. Your heart soared with affection at the sight of her face completely relaxed, with a tiny smile and her hands wrapped tightly around your pillow.
The day had been long, and both of you had walked enough to feel a pulsating pain in your feet. Putting your pjs’ on, you sneaked inside the blankets putting another pillow under your head. A single hand lifted to brush away some strand locks from her face, you placed a kiss on her forehead while your eyes drifted to your backpack.
This trip was the first one you two decided to make as a couple.
A lot of things had happened in between, and now that life seemed to be getting easier you had come to an important decision for yourself and her. Your friends had been asking non-stop about this, and you had been evading their comments up until the time you popped the question. So far, you had been a coward…
The ring you had bought for her was still in the backpack, waiting for you to dare and take that step forward.
The fear of rejection had been so latent that you hadn’t dared to do much. And the object had been always travelling with you, everywhere.
The screen on your phone came to life with the notification of a new message. You chuckled rolling your eyes when you saw the name on the screen, as soon as you opened the message the name of one of your best friends popped out. He had been the first one you revealed your intentions, and he had been with you when you chose the ring; you knew he was dying to tell this secret to everyone, mainly because of this kind of news he could not keep a secret.
His message was clear, and you knew he would be mad as soon as you answered him.
You better tell me you already pop the question, or I’m going to explode over here!
You pursed your lips, your fingers moving through the keypad of the phone. You waited, until you saw the Typing message and moments later his answer came in.
You have to do it! Why are you stalling on this? Are you having second thoughts?
‘What if she says no?’ You answer almost immediately, Wanda stirred in her sleep turning towards you, the pillow forgotten to let her arm sneak around your midsection. When your eyes went back to the screen, he had the answer you been playing with at the back of your mind.
Stop doubting yourself, and her! I expect good news soon!
The conversation died there, and you glanced at the phone for a long time before putting the object away and snuggling into the bed.
Tomorrow will be a new day.
But nothing happened the next day, or the day after that.
In fact, four days letter the trip to Venice was about to end and you hadn’t been able to give the final step.
It didn’t matter.
A part of you convinced itself that, in reality, the final question didn’t matter as long as you could hear her laugh and enjoyed her time walking down the streets of Venice while meeting different places inside The Serenissima. She was just as excited as you to visit the library of Acqua Alta, and while you distracted yourself with the local cat she was right inside reading the many titles adorning the narrow space inside the local. It was a paradise, the place itself was decorated with the spirit of the city and the water could be seen on the floor of the establishment while the low tone of conversation made you think of a library more so than a store.
The gondola holding books of history about the city made for the perfect decoration alongside the damage books on the small yard in one of the entrances. The place had its magic embedded in the spirit of books, secrets that only those fortunate enough could unfold while grabbing the right book.
You left the store with five of them.
She left with only two.
Without her knowledge, your footsteps lead you to the former church of San Barnaba. Your childish smile made her give in when you ran around the plaza while talking about Indiana Jones and the beautiful scenes filmed in the old library of the city. Wanda would follow you while listening to your non-stop babbling, and whenever it was time for you to be quiet, she would talk about her experiences and her thoughts, she would bring over facts while also possibilities.
Neither one of you said it out loud, but the both of you always thought about the obvious differences between you two. Everyone was always mentioning this, the logical and organized side of Wanda, how methodical she was and how hardworking she turned out to be. Her spirit to always be a perfectionist never leaving anything to chance but trying to control up until the last detail of the situation so the results would be what she expected them to be. She always had a plan, even when everything seemed to be alright, there was always something else she had under her sleeve to save the situation.
You were a force to be racon with.
You went right ahead with passion, and without thinking up too much of the consequences. Sometimes, you plan ahead, some others you just improvise and pray for the best result. Whether it was because you had a lucky star above your head, or because you were good at what you did, in the end you could always get the best of every situation. Even while walking around the streets of Italy, and while everything had been planned and put up in a planner and a schedule, you would come up with the most unthinkable ideas and improvise the best situations Wanda had experienced during the trip.
The both of you were so different that at some point you complemented one another.
Some said that was good, that you two would endure.
Some others said it wouldn’t last. She would get tired, and you would mess up.
There was no sun that day, and the grey clouds glided right above your head with the same wind that brought the salty aroma of the Adriatic Sea. Her hand never left yours, and her excited chatter brought a smile to your face while she talked excitedly of the piece of history, she had read for you.
“So according to tradition this bridge was for some rival gangs to fight over, and the winner was the one that threw the other to the canal. Which is the reason why this is call the Bridge of Fists.” She crunched up her nose leaning in to see the green waters down below before turning to you. “Which, let me tell you doesn’t look sanitary at all at this time, I can’t even imagine how awful must have been in the Sixteenth century.”
“Oh, imagine the smell, the appearance…the rats!”
She shivered making a face while you laughed at that, “you’re imagine it, aren’t’ you?”
“Of course, I am! Look at these waters right now!” She exclaimed waving her hands away while pointing at the waters of the canal. “They don’t look that sanitary at all, and according to some these are still one of the most contaminated waters in the world.”
“Yet this is the most beautiful and romantic city in the world!” You exclaimed wrapping your arms around her, she chuckled as you pressed her against the rails of the bridge.
“Wanna go to the Plaza and visit the Bridge of Sighs?”
“Why do you like that place so much?” She would never say it, but the stories you two had heard from one of the guides a couple of days ago still made her shiver.
You shrugged lifting your face to the sky, it was past midday and soon the afternoon cold would bring with it another fit of fog to the bay. You knew you enjoyed the sight of the open sea alongside the Lagoon and the entrance the Grand Canal. At this time of the day, the water would start lapping at the shore while still holding back and the lion in the plaza would stand with pride under the yellowish light of the lamps.
“It’s just magical, you know? But okay, it’s not so much the bridge but its location.”
“You mean the Saint Mark’s Square?” She tilted her head nodding, it was a nice sight but your eyes were just shining with something strange in them.
“Well, yes but…”
Wanda narrowed her eyes at you, the way you were fidgeting was a sign that you were hiding something from her. She just needed to know what exactly it was and how it was going to affect her and the itinerary she had prepared for that day.
“What have you planned?” Her tone of voice was between exasperate and amused.
You made a face lifting your right hand and pointing to the general direction of the square and the Grand Canal.
“There is a place that I want to show you, and it seems to be the right time to do so.” You shrugged stepping back, your hands on your pockets and your head hanging to the side. “If you want to, of course.”
All of a sudden, the small box hidden in your pocket was made unbelievably heavy and your hands started sweating while your heart was threatening to leave your chest. Her brown eyes, vibrant and full of questions pinned you to the spot, but instead of looking angry or really upset, she merely softened her stare and the warmth inside them made your soul shiver.
“Today is your lucky day, Mrs. Firenze.” You snorted at the nickname shaking your head while offering a grin.
“I hope not only the day, but the night as well.” You winked at her, and Wanda just laughed walking down the bridge shaking her head.
“That depends on this surprised, perhaps you will be lucky before we get home.”
You stood there with your mouth hanging open, your eyes following her frame before you shook your head.
“You mean, I can get lucky in one of the alleys?”
“You never know!” She replied waiting for you in the distance.
You knew it would never happen, at least not unless she was really into getting down and dirty in public. And it would never happen because whenever you were with her in a sexual way, you loved the fact you could take your time with her until the both of you were to spend to do nothing else but sleep into each other arms.
By the time you two arrived at your destination, night was already fallen.
Your jacket was tightly pressed against her frame, protecting her from the cold and the drizzle of the afternoon. Just as you predicted, the fog was filling out the bay gliding inside the Grand Canal and the city slowly but surely.
Punta Della Dogana was the triangular formation were the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal met. The wind was stronger here, the place was almost empty as many of the tourist coming to this part of the city would go directly to the museum and admired the contemporary art pieces instead of the sight of silver waters with a hidden sun and cold colours illuminating the sky.
Wanda loved it, though.
Even through the cold, she stood at the edge of the piazza admiring the boats coming into the harbour and entering the Grand Canal. She pointed to the far away islands, and the possibility of what was beyond the poles in the water. You wished you could focus your attention to the open sea, and the lights starting to create a mystical sight at the other end of the canal.
But your eyes were on her.
Her sharp features, softened only by the excitement of her smile and the brightness of her brown eyes. Her hair falling wildly on her back, and her body covered with two jackets, and white tennis that made sure she was completely protected from the cold of the afternoon. The sight of her usually stopped your heart, and made your breath caught in your throat. She was like a dream, and a part of you would always be afraid to lose her.
There was a single pole light standing right at the very edge of the land, the light twinkled for a few seconds before it turned on completely. The yellowish light fell upon her frame, and your heart stopped beating for a moment, this time around you came closer to her but it was her the first one to make contact.
Her hand was cold against yours, your eyebrows knitted together while you wrapped her hands in yours.
“You’re cold.” You whispered, she shrugged stepping closer to you.
“This is amazing.” She whispered back, and it was as if you two were sharing a secret. The sounds of random conversations filled in the space and you could feel the eyes of some of the people in the plaza on you.
“So, I will get lucky?” You wriggled your eyebrows playfully, and she couldn’t help it. She started laughing snuggling closer to you.
“Yeah, you deserve to get happy wherever you want.” The sultry tone of her proposal made you shivered, your arms wrapped around her and you glance at the sea and the sky watching as the night fall around the world, and the temperature dropped slowly.
The sound of the waves hitting the stone and the shore soothe over the hushed conversation around you, the lights of the city made it possible to see a beacon of possibilities from the darkened sea. There was something mystical about this world, and this moment; Wanda lifted her face and you found yourself looking into her eyes.
“You got silent all of a sudden, are you alright?” She was looking concern, you snorted shaking your head placing a light kiss on her lips.
“That was quiet doesn’t mean I am not okay, perhaps I was trying to choose the place I want to have my naughty way with you.”
You opened your eyes taken aback by the soft blush on her cheeks, she lowered her gaze and the bashful sight of a smile on her lips almost stopped your heart.
“And, have you chosen?”
You laughed stepping back for a moment, disbelief touching your features.
“Of course, I have! The AirBnB, Mrs. Venice.” You winked at her trying to use the same kind of nickname she used early with you, the name of the cities either one of you had chosen to visit on this trip. “I want you all to myself, so I will need you expose and begging.”
“You wish.” She replied slapping your arm playfully. “Last time, it was you who beg.”
“Shh, that’s a secret.”
She chuckled stepping back into your arms, this time around with her back against your chest, your arms wrapped around her waist glancing into the distance.
“This is really beautiful. Thank you.”
You nodded but said nothing else.
Your lips were near her ear, your warm breath making her shiver.
Biting your lower lip, trembling lightly you opened your mouth and closed it again. Then you closed your eyes and she was the one talking at first.
“I never thought I will be here with you.” Her voice was soft, full of memories and something else you couldn’t pinpoint. “It was kind of difficult to imagine myself with someone like you.”
“Aw, baby you’re so romantic.” The sarcasm was not missed by her, she tilted her head to give you a glance, you pressed your lips together letting her talk.
“I just mean…this has been different, surprising. And I love it.” She leaned back her head falling on your right shoulder. “I love you. I really do, and I’m just glad we haven’t’ complicated things with formalities and foolishness, just enjoying one another.”
Her words pierced your heart with a cold, sharp blade. You looked away from her, and your body tensed lightly while she continued.
“Don’t get me wrong, I love living with you but…just you and me without any formalities, or labels.” She pursed her lips, turning in your arms. “You know what I mean, right?”
You were caught of guard, nodding like a fool while smiling weakly at her.
“Totally.” She scratched the back of your head, trying to forget the silver ring made with a turquoise stone only for her. “I mean, marriage and other such titles complicate things, right?”
Your question carried with it the weight of your intentions; you gauged her expression and it seemed as if you had said the right thing. She nodded eagerly without missing her content expression, she went back into your arms glancing around the coast with your heart breaking a little.
The ring in your pocket never forgotten.
Winter in Venice was a chance to walk in the dark during the early hours of a Friday morning.
The watch on your wrist showed the 6 a.m. time, but the sky outside the window of your AirBnB was completely dark. The sight before you were that of the canal’s waters calmly lapping the stone edifications, the lights on the windows told you there were more people waking up at such an hour getting ready for the day.
Inside the room you could spot the black cloak with a hoodie you had chosen for your costume, the colombina nera venetian mask, and the black cane that would complement the attire. Your lips curled into a subtle smile, you had chosen the appearance of an Eighteenth-Century gentleman, while Wanda had kept her own clothes a secret from you. After almost two hours of her kicking you out of the room you were highly curious as to what she was going to wear that day, your stomach tingling in anticipation while your imagination ran rampant with the many scenarios you were capable of creating in the solitude of the living room.
As it was your custom, you favour black and silver as the colours for your garments.
For a long time, you admire those black trousers rolled up to the knees and the black tights covering the legs. The black waistcoat finished with silver braids had been a surprised, and the contrasts of these materials with the white shirt you wore underneath with the cuff lacing and lace jabot gave it a Renaissance tone that only made you chuckled at the possibility. The shoes, black and silver buckles and the black gloves were just a complementary accessory you indulged yourself with, much like the tricorn hat, the black cloak, and the black stick.
You chuckled when you remembered the options you put on the table to Wanda. Either was that or the Plague doctor. The Eighteenth-century gentleman look won in the end.
The silence inside the room became almost unbearable for a moment, the distraction dressing up and thinking about the Carnivale was not enough to make you forget the day before and the missing opportunity for the proposal.
The ring was, for the very first time ever, forgotten inside your backpack.
Once you two had arrived to the flat, your torture yourself with thoughts of what could have been and what would never be. You always assumed that Wanda would like to get married; that perhaps her past experience was not enough to deter her from trying to join her life with another. Then again, she had sworn herself to never be in another relationship and, here she was with you after two years.
Marriage though, was another thing.
Something you thought…well…
It was foolish, really.
Getting married didn’t mean you two would be forever, or even happy. It was just a title that many used as an excuse to not be alone, and she had been right, you two were just fine the way you were. There was no need for a ring, or a ceremony…
You shook your head going towards the mirror while putting your hair in a ponytail. The door of the room opening and her voice reaching out to you.
“Okay, don’t laugh and please be honest because I feel foolish.”
“I won’t laugh…I mean you didn’t…” You trailed off as soon as you turned to her.
It was as if the world had stopped completely and it was only her and you.
She had light make-up on her face, the hair had been pulled up in a half ponytail with her light brown locks falling in waves on her back. She had chosen a baby blue and grey courtesan dress that contrasted with her white skin and the pink on her cheeks. There was something adorable in the way her face broke into a bashful smile, her eyes gleaming mischievously as the settle on you while she chewed on her lower lip while playing with the fan in her hand.
“Well? What do you think?”
The bodice squeezed up her torso, highlighting her chest and her slim figure. The low neckline showed off her neck and collarbone, letting you see the softness of her skin while the sleeves fell down her arms to her hands decorated with white gloves. The gown was divided in two skirts, one that would cover the outer side of the gown, and the second one that would fall freely around her legs and the small high heels she had chosen for herself. She too had rented a cloak, dark blue, with a tricorn had of the same colour and the colombina cigno mask.
“You…” You trailed off shaking your head before approaching her taking her hands in yours while bowing your head in a dramatic way. “You look beautiful, Signora.”
She snorted looking away rather embarrassed, her cheeks burning brightly under your gaze and sincerity. You leaning nuzzling her neck and placing soft, featherlike kisses on her skin, your lips teasing her earlobe.
“You really look beautiful.” You whispered, the intake of breath on her part was all you needed to know you had affected her.
“We better get going, or all this time dressing up is going to go to hell.” She replied huskily, her eyes burning into yours.
You chuckled raising a single eyebrow at her, “why? What happened?”
“You’re gonna pay for that, you know that, right?” She replied playfully just as you put on your cloak, the mask fitting on your face just as you opened the door and placed your hat on your head.
“I don’t care as long as it is with you, Wanda.”
Even if the light of the morning had not shown by the time you left the house, the streets of Venice were full of people dressed up and ready to enjoy what The Serenissima would bring during the Carnival. It had been a dream for you to come to the city while dressing up and wearing a mask, getting lost in a world that would sometimes get lost in the best of the past and the present.
You could hear the laughter, the greetings from the locals and the admiration your outfit and hers awoke in some of the passersby. The sky started clearing up b the time you two reached the Saint Mark’s Square, you helped her up the flood ramps positioned all through the streets. The water still covering the stone of the Square, while people filled out the place wearing plastic boots.
“We didn’t think about this.” Wanda commented wincing lightly when she almost fell from the ramp.
Your arm wrapped protectively around her waist, winking at her you lift the cane in your hand offering it to her.
“My dear lady, I wouldn’t oppose to you carrying this stick if it will assure your safety during this trip.”
Her laughter was everything you needed at the moment; she slapped you playfully on your arm shaking her head while grabbing your hand.
“I prefer your hand, that stick is better off with you.” She rolled her eyes at your obvious innuendo behind the wriggling of eyebrows. “Stop your dirty mind there, doofus.”
“But you love my dirty mind!” You whined walking alongside her to the other end of the square, passing right in front of Saint Marks.
The Lagoon was cover with dark blue waters, and the light was sneaking inside the clouds and the sky bringing with it the morning mist. The daybreak was gold and red, cold winds brushed against your skin, though for the very first time Wanda and you could enjoy the breaking of the morning sun in a world that was breathing celebration.
The sound of laughter was followed by music.
Violins and drums, the screams and singing from a group of youngsters made you turned to the group that was lifting up a small scenario near the harbour. Many tourists approached the group hearing the stories and the songs while the day in Venice started with a bang.
You had been to many parties all through your life.
The world you life in was full of festivals and carnivals, they were full of tradition and happiness in itself. Many of them were a cultural mark of the place you had been born to, and while a part of your heart and soul loved what they represented; never before had you been in such a celebration.
For venetians this was part of their identity.
History stated this started around the year 1169, after the Venetian Republic won a war against Ulrico di Treven. The story itself became a legend, and the celebration started taking different forms and meanings as time passed by. Modernity only enforced this believes and engraved in the hearts of venetians the need of celebrating each year the victory of life over dead, of fun over boredom, of passion over dullness.
Walking down the streets while observing the many people dressed up as Renaissance individuals was something that had your heart leaping with happiness. Your mind had forgotten the sadness of the day before, the possibility that this relationship you had built with your heart might crumbled under the weight of small details, of great differences of thinking.
But, just as one of your bosses had said once, the devil was in the details.
“Did you see that?” Wanda was in awed, a couple of young people had started a pantomime improvisation, their ability to catch the attention of those passersby was enough to have everyone waiting for the next act.
Wanda grabbed your hand, leaning forward she laughed alongside the audience when one woman and a man crashed comically in an explosion of confetti and blue smoke. Magic and theatrics was the main component of these presentations, and soon many were giving away the price they put to such entertainment.
Your lips broke into a content grin, Wanda stood up walking towards the closest mime while placing a single note. You observed her from afar, your expression falling while you thought of the uncertainty that had grown inside your heart.
“Everything okay, baby?” Her hand cupped your cheek, the mask covered the upper side of her face but made her eyes that much darker and mysterious.
“Yeah, I just…” You leaned into her touch and decided you didn’t need a ring…to love her the way you did.
“I think I’m beat and I need a drink.”
She didn’t look convince; she knew you enough to know something else was bothering you but for now you had focused your attention in the celebrations happening around the city to delve any further into your emotions. Either way, you wouldn’t allow it as long as there was a possibility of Wanda smiling and enjoying herself the way she was doing at the moment, your selfishness was something that exasperate her sometimes. But for now, she would indulge in your stubbornness, for she knew this was a day you had been waiting impatiently as much as she had.
“I love you.” Wanda blurted out all of a sudden, your eyes opened wide at the revelation, it wasn’t as if you didn’t know that or she hadn’t said before.
It was just that she didn’t mention it as often as you did. With a single smile she leaned in wrapping her lips against yours, the warmness of her mouth made your darker fears scattered away while the sweet taste of her was enough to fuel your soul.
“So, AirBnB or something to drink?” You wriggled your eyebrows enjoying her laughter just as she stretched her hand to help you up.
“Drink first, then we will go to Rialto Bridge to see the boats.” She declared watching her mobile, or more exactly, the itinerary. “There is a couple of things I would like to see, and that I know you will love and then, if your good, tonight…You can do whatever you want with me.”
“Damn, woman, I will hold you to that!”
Wanda winked at you; her mischievous grin was all you needed to know that night you wouldn’t get any sleep.
The waters of the Grand Canal were of a deep dark green and blue, the place had been decorated with the symbol of the Lion and the Italian flag while the shores were filled with people either dressed up as participants of the Carnival or as simple tourist. The bridged was full, you placed yourself protectively behind Wanda while putting out the phone to get ready for the pictures.
The drinks had been enough, and at the moment she was still carrying an orange juice for her, and an ice coffee for you.
“This is so exciting, though I hate there is so many people.” She all but whispered for you, you chuckled nodding.
“I know, this should be only us and those who are coming in those boats and gondolas. No need for the rest of the world.” She rolled her eyes though never contradict your version.
The music filled the canal, and the chatter died off as everyone saw the different boats approaching with the many colours that adorned the celebrations. You heard her gasp, leaning forward resting her hands on the stone rail of the bridge; she grabbed your hand and the excitement in her face was quite obvious as she started pointing around while her grin almost broke her face.
Boats decorate with the colours of the Pride flag came in, people dressed up in the most ridiculous yet amusing costumes came in greeting everyone and wishing the participants the best of lucks. The music increased and every single one of those boats had put on the same song, the same playlist that resounded into the canal mixing up with the laughter and the greetings from the rowers.
Many boats came in, some of them carrying with them the red and golden lion that represented the Republica of Venezia, and some others came in with the green, white, and red representing Italy.
“Look at that one!” You pointed to a black sailed one, filled with people dressed up as Plague doctors, behind them was another one that came in with men and women dressed up with changed roles and wearing the most beautiful dresses you had ever seen.
“They look beautiful.” Wanda commented almost pouting when one of the men dressed in a bright purple courtesan dress greeted her with a wave and a kiss from his position on the boat. You returned the gestured and he merely laughed greeting you with a swing of his fan.
For more than an hour you two observed the people rowed down the canal, many of the presents had started emptying the bridge but you and Wanda had enjoyed the show too much. The conversation grew around the organization and the tradition, how simple things such as the pandemic of 2020 could have affected such events and how people endured and continue on regardless of those issues.
By the time the last boat crossed the Bridge, it was time for a late lunch.
Wanda guided you through the narrow streets of Venezia. She had a hand on her mobile and another on you, her eyes drifting from the screen to the names on the plaques hanging by the walls, as you two walked deeper inside the alleys, you stopped hearing the sound of chattering people.
"Where are you taking me?" You asked for the tenth time, the woman in front of you grinned, shaking her head.
"Nu-uh, you have taken me to so many places, this time around is my turn." She declared with a hint of pride in her voice, you cocked your head raising your brows at her declaration.
"Did you really go all the way to find something in these streets?" the hint of surprise disbelief, she furrowed her brows at this turning to you with wrinkles around her eyes.
"Why do you sound so surprised?" Her inquired was made to question you more so than to receive an answer she already knew.
You shrugged shaking your head, “I just…I think you always surprised with the most incredible gestures, that’s all.”
She halted her rush walk, her brown eyes locking with yours for what seemed like an eternity. Whenever she got that look in her face, you knew she was analysing what you said and what you meant; but instead of showing her disapproval she just softened her features and her hand squeezed yours in a tender gesture.
“Kiss me.”
You blinked at her command, she stood there defiantly for a moment nodding towards you.
“Go on, kiss me.”
“So bossy…” You mumbled and she merely sniggered.
“You like me bossy.”
With that you couldn’t argue.
Leaning in you closed the space that separated you from her, a hand on her waist and the other holding her right hand brushing your lips against hers while feeling her warm breath against your lips. It was a featherlike touch, the sweet teasing just before you sealed the command with a searing kiss. It was as if you had never kissed her before, lips moulding to the needs of the other while the electric shock that went from the connection stirred your heard and mind warming up your limbs while she pressed tightly against yours.
At times, kissing Wanda was like fighting over dominance, it was like a game that would always bring a smile to your faces and leave the both of you breathless. Some other times, like this one, it left you two with a beating heart and a need to just exist with the other.
When you finally broke apart, your forehead rest against hers, only the mask preventing for your skin touching hers. Wanda grinned goofily nuzzling her nose with yours.
“Thank you.”
“Whatever you want, Love, you know that.”
Wanda stepped back nodding, “I know, now let’s keep going.”
You chuckled shaking your head while glancing in faux exasperation to the sky.
“So bossy.”
The sun positioned itself above your heads, and while the wind brought with it the cold breeze of the Alps, you still felt the heavy warmness of the star above your heads.
People filled out the streets, the music and the laughter accompanied you two down the road leading to the Saint Mark’s Square down to the harbour and the road leading to the tail of Venice. You had been there only once, with your sister when the adventures you shared were only shared with your family and not with the woman you had fallen in love with.
The commercial side of Venice started dying out, and these parts became of a green that still surprised you whenever your eyes fell upon them. Grass and trees decorate the streets, and the stone on these places had been renewed quite recently. People walked around wearing their everyday clothes, with just a couple of the passersby wearing the customary clothes for the Carnival.
Whenever you crossed a bridge, people would greet the both of you with a smile.
And you soon found in a different world.
This time around you had the ocean to your right, and the love of your life to your left.
The world had changed from a Renaissance era to one of contemporary forgetfulness. It was a land in which time did not pass, yet it had come in the form of peace and familiarity. The parks spread before your eyes, the silence was most welcome to your ears, and soon the loneliness became a welcoming change.
“I was trying to look for a place that could…impact you.” Wanda started talking slowly, the sound of her heels resounding in the empty streets. “I search for a good place, something tranquil for you and me. And then I came across this restaurant, and I thought that it would be the perfect place to enjoy a nice lunch with you.”
Your heart shrank at her words, the tingling in your chest spread out until there was a delicious sensation of anticipation in your abdomen.
“I know sometimes I’m hard to read, and I’m not very open with you…” She continued, taking your silence as a way to continue the conversation. “I just wanted to show you that…I have never wanted anyone beside me but you in this place. Living these adventures.”
“My, Wanda, since when are you so romantic and emotional?” You teased breaking the tension she had formed around herself, when she lifted her face to yours she was smiling bumping against your shoulder.
“I learned from the best.”
“You better!” You exclaimed shaking your head. “I have never thought you were not open, or hard to read, Wanda. I have always understood your silence, but I take what you’re saying…thank you for letting me be a part of this.”
“You better be thankful; I took most of the day looking for this place instead of working on a report I had to submit at that time.”
You laughed shaking your head, this confession only made your heart leaped with contentment. If that was true then she really had put her mind and heart into this search; there was nothing in the world that would make her procrastinate her job. Nothing and No one.
The place had been built it in a residential part of the city, it oversaw the lagoon and the entrance to the Adriatic while at the same time enjoyed the fortune of a park and trees that gave the district a livelier and more natural. In here, you could almost taste the salty texture of the sea and the coldness of the north. By the time you reached your destination, the canals and the bridges were forgotten and for the very first time you understood the nickname of the city: La Serenissima.
The restaurant ended up being a homey place with kind patrons, and not many people.
You chose a table right outside the restaurant, an old man with a passionate speech brought the menu and talk about the specials. His English was broken, and with your broken Italian the both of you enjoyed a light banter Wanda observed from afar. For her it had always been quite a sight to see you interact with people, for a person that looked shy and insecure at times, you were always ready to be the first to speak and take over conversation if the situation demanded it.
You turned to her smiling, pointing to the best dishes while also ordering their best Spritz Aperol as an opening. The lights around the local had been turned on, and the dark clouds announcing rain were approaching from the Adriatic. The conversation soon turned to work, the latest happenings and the future of your position, the gossip couldn’t be missed and as soon as food was served you two started talking about the family and friends.
There was always something to talk about, but even if you tried to make it all look natural, Wanda didn’t miss the fact you hold yourself in a very important aspect of the conversation. You never mentioned your future together.
“Do you think we are going to last?” Her question caught you by surprised and you almost choke on the piece of pizza you had just swallowed.
Wanda stood right away patting your back with a frown on her face, the concern was evident in her expression while she tried to offer you some water that you took quite grateful. After a couple of minutes, she sat down, and now it was quite evident the whole situation was amusing for her.
“Woah, I take it you don’t think we last?” Her tone had a hint of teasing in there, but her eyes were asking with seriousness for a real answer.
You shook your head placing your hand on hers, for a brief moment you thought about the ring and how this could be your chance. But the conversation of the day before, and your own insecurities stopped you from doing something foolish; instead of that, you decided to just answer with honestly.
“Never.” You stated clearing out your throat and drinking some more water. “The moment I saw you I thought you were not for me. I always thought you were perfect, like the kind of woman I had been looking for but…but could never had.”
“Love…” Wanda started but you stopped her with a gesture, the softness of your lips curling upwards told her you were talking with honesty about then and now.
“I just…I was so afraid to even ask or do something else…I didn’t want to miss my chance with you, even if I only got to be your friend.” You shrugged lowering your glance to the table remembering all those days, weeks, and months in which you broke your head trying to make sense of everything you felt for the woman sitting right next to you.
“And then, when you and I finally got together well…You are the love of my life, and I will be with you for as long as you have me, Wanda.” You finally stated shrugging. “I don’t think it will be possible for me to stop loving you in the way I do so now, if anything, I think everyday I love you even more.”
“God, you always have such a way with words.” Wanda said after a long paused, she grabbed your jabot and pushed you forward crashing her lips to yours before letting go. “You really…I think we need to pay this and go for a walk.”
You blinked confusedly at her sudden changed in attitude, afternoon was already falling and many lamp posts were starting to ignite with the yellowish lights of the night. Wanda came in after having paid for lunch, grabbing your hand you were once more dragged down the park and through the grass to the farthest corner of the city.
The sight in here was completely different.
From this part of the world, you could only see the waters of the Lagoon whole the world became a blurry line of buildings and lights. There was not a single sound that you could make, and even if there were people around the both of you were alone standing at the shore glancing the dark waters and feeling the breeze in your faces.
You admired the sight before you.
A city that had survived time and war, a place that had stood through the centuries while becoming a beacon of modernity and rebirth. Wanda stood by your side, her arms wrapping around herself while she too observed the waters of the Lagoon.
“Thank you.” You mumbled smiling softly. “This is amazing.”
“I knew you would like it.” She replied shrugging, her hand went to the purse she had been carrying around, her cheeks soon turned an interesting shade of red that made you tilted your head in curiosity.
Wanda took a deep breath and put something from her purse while turning to face you.
“Yes.” She said with her voice firm, full of conviction even though her lower lip was quivering and her hands had been fidgeting nervously.
You raised a single brow, your eyes showing the confusion you felt while you pursed your lips to the side.
“What?” You replied almost laughing when your words died in your throat, your eyes going wide open when she presented her left hand and the ring with the turquoise stone shining into the venetian afternoon.
“Yes.” You replied bouncing lightly on her feet, you opened and closed your mouth several times, frowning while taking a step back.
“How…I mean, why do you…” You started asking but unsure of what exactly you wanted from this conversation, Wanda stepped forward grabbing your hand.
“I found it in your backpack, and I knew you wanted to do this because…you’re not very subtle.” She said lowering her gaze before lifting her eyes at you, this time around the sight of unshed tears was quite visible for you.
“I never thought…You didn’t want to get married.” She said softly, and you remembered that first conversation you held with her. Your past, and your previous relationship. “And then I discover this and I…you wrote what you wanted to tell me and I realized…I wanted to surprise you. And yesterday, when I said what I said I knew I was right…you were sad, and so…and still…”
“And still, I wanted to be with you.” You mumbled understanding her reasoning. “You thought I was doing it out of commitment and not because I wanted to be with you like that.”
“Yeah.”
“Wanda, I love you. I never thought about marriage, that’s true…but with you, everything changes.” You took her left hand, your eyes on the ring. “So, you will be my wife?”
Her laughter came out with a choked sob, her arms wrapped around you and you could hear her soft voice in your ear.
“Yes, I will.”
The night finished with the both of you whispering into the night.
It was neither rushed, nor was it adventurous.
It was passionate.
With soft caresses and sweet promises, with mischievous games and subtle confessions of love.
By the time she had fallen asleep in your arms, you could not sleep. Your eyes had been focusing on the ring she had stolen from your backpack and was now wearing proudly on her finger. She was not a lover of social media, if anything, she preferred to be anonymous to the world while it was you the one posting the pictures of the trip. That day it had been her the one posting the cold afternoon sunset, and the sweet images of people having fun. It had been her the one posting the picture of the both of you dressed up for the Carnival with the mask and the hats, the smiles and the promises of the future.
The ring had been visible, but her main focused had been the promises given that day.
The pictures had been part of the promise of what the future held.
Next time, when you and her returned to Venice it would be as more than a couple.
And that, was all that matters.

Tumblr media
You finally let yourself relax for the first time in the past two days, closing your eyes and throwing yourself on the couch.
You hate stealth missions. You are more of an explosion type of girl, coming in with a bang, kicking some ass and leaving as soon as possible, but this - staying hidden, moving in shadows, and sneaking behind people's backs - this is more of a Natasha thing, which is why she is the one in charge.
You sigh, turning your head to look at the redhead. She is bent over some documents, her brows furrowed in deep thought. Wanda appears by her side a moment later, drops of sweat rolling down her temples.
You sit up, and focus on the women in front of you. Hours ago something went wrong when you split up, they came back looking as guilty as ever, reassuring you that everything was alright, and you believed them then. Now you're not so sure.
"Is everything okay?" You ask, pinning them down with your eyes.
Wanda jumps in surprise and moves to stand behind the table, slightly bending over. Your eyes narrow at the sight.
"Everything is alright. You should go to the store, we don't have anything to eat," Natasha says through gritted teeth, not meeting your eyes.
Your mouth opens in shock, eyes straying to Wanda's in search of support, but you find her in a similar state - eyes dark and jaw clenched tight.
"You two go to the store. Maybe some fresh air will help you get your shit together." You huff, choosing to walk away from the women and hole up in your room, but when you pass by Wanda, your hand accidentally grazing hers, she lets out an actual growl, the wood of the table squeaking in her hold. Her eyes burn bright red, her mouth open as she pants heavily.
"What's wrong?" You hurry to her side, cupping her jaw to inspect her face, and her hips thrust forward, her eyes closing as she whines.
"You need to go." Natasha's low voice reaches your ears, making you look at the redhead. "Leave, before it's too late."
You blink and take a step back, concern swirling in your chest. "What is going on? Let me help."
Wanda takes a deep breath, her hands trembling as she reaches for your hand.
"Wanda," Natasha warns, her tone steel-like, but Wanda pays her no mind, her fingers hot on your arm as she pulls you flush against her front, burrowing her nose in the back of your neck and grinding her hips against your backside, her rock hard cock straining in the confines of her pants.
You gasp, unconsciously arching your back to meet her messy humps, her hands curling around your waist, her mouth hot on your neck. "W-wanda."
Natasha walks around the table and you finally see her fully, see the bulge in her pants, see the veins in her tense forearms. "Leave," she croaks, "before we completely lose control."
You let an involuntary whimper, the sound making Natasha pounce on you with animalistic need. Her lips are on yours, enveloping you in their warmth, her hands are rough on your hips, squeezing and tugging you away from the other woman, but Wanda doesn't budge, growling against your neck and holding on to your waist.
Natasha stumbles back, breathless, and closes her eyes tightly, her fists clenched tight. "This is your last chance. If you don't leave now, we'll take it as your permission to do whatever we want to you."
Wanda hums against the slope of your neck, nipping and sucking on the tender skin, her hot tongue soothing the sting. You gulp, head falling back against her shoulder.
"Use me," you whisper, "do whatever you want."
Natasha's eyes flash, and then she's pushing you down to your knees. Your mouth falls open as her pants and underwear slide down her legs. Her fat cock stands proudly against her stomach, precum leaking down the tip. You barely have enough time to wet your lips before she pushes it down your throat, holding your face between her hands and fucking your mouth like her life depends on it. She throws her head back, strands of her fiery red hair framing her face as she loses herself in her desire.
Wanda mewls beside you, and you glance at her, eyes widening when you see her straining cock in her fist. She pumps it fast, her eyes on you, and you reach out, your fingers wrapping around the length. She closes her eyes, her hands settle on your shoulders as you slowly jerk her off, your throat burning from Natasha's cock. She pulls away to let you take a breath, but you don't have enough time for that - Wanda immediately takes her place, shoving herself into your mouth, her balls slapping against your chin.
You blink back tears, trying to relax your throat, but still gagging on her length.
"M'sorry, detka," she murmurs, "you'll have to take it all."
Natasha taps her tip on your cheek, her fingers tangling in your hair. You pull away, finally allowed to breathe properly, and clench your thighs at the sight of their cocks in front of your face, your wetness staining your sleep shorts as you subtly grind on your heel.
Natasha growls, and then you're pulled off the floor and thrown over the spy's shoulder. She carries you to her bedroom with ease, and throws you on the bed. Wanda hurriedly tugs off your clothes, almost ripping your underwear in haste to get you naked. Natasha is on you the second you're laid bare, ready to claim your most vulnerable part. You spread your legs, bending them at your knees, your thighs wet with your arousal. Natasha tugs you closer, and forces you on your hands and knees.
"Better," she husks, the tip of her cock pushing between your folds and into your tight heat, your walls clenching tightly around her shaft. She moans, thrusting balls deep, "Such a good pussy, taking me like a good slut."
You cry out, mouth falling wide open, and see Wanda settle in front of you, her cock still wet with your spit. She takes hold of your jaw and pushes your head down, simultaneously thrusting her cock deep inside your throat. "Fuck, Nat, we should've done this sooner."
They fuck you like you're a common whore, using your holes to their liking, Wanda's balls slapping against your chin, Natasha's palms placed possessively on your ass. You gag on the witch's shaft, tears streaming down your face, but she's too far gone in her pleasure to notice, hips snapping faster with each thrust. Natasha's length spreads your cunt almost painfully, the tip of her thick cock pushing against your cervix with each rough thrust.
Your moans send vibrations through Wanda's length, making the young witch cry out, her abs taut with tension, fingers pulling at your hair harshly. She comes down your throat with a loud moan, making you gag on her cum. You pull away, struggling to swallow the load that leaks all over your face and chest.
Natasha's thrusts become erratic as she gets closer to her own release, her fat cock sloshing in your wetness.
"Tasha- ah, please," you gasp, and she flips you on your back, changing the angle.
"Louder, baby," she pants, snapping her hips faster, her fingers leaving bruises on your hips. "I want everyone to know what a cock slut you are." Her dirty words make your head spin, your walls clenching around her thickness, trying to swallow her in.
Wanda throws one led over your stomach, now hovering over you, and pushes your breasts together before thrusting her cock between them. You eagerly open your mouth, welcoming the reddened tip. She whines and mewls as she plays with your breasts, her thumbs stroking your nipples, ready to come again just from the sight below her.
Your legs are spread wider before they're thrown over Nat's shoulders. She presses her palm against the bulge in your belly, making you scream, "Yes! Ah- Nat… Yes, yes, yes- deeper, I need you deeper."
Your eyes roll to the back of your head as she thrusts one last time, releasing a load of cum into your clenching heat. The pressure inside you releases as you're hit by the most powerful orgasm you've ever had. A few seconds later Wanda follows, forcing your jaw open and thrusting the tip of her cock inside. This time you swallow it all.
She falls on the bed beside you, her body glistening with sweat as you both catch your breath. Natasha slowly pulls out, gently massaging your thighs before taking place on your other side.
"We're not done," she whispers against your ear, her palm cupping your pussy. "We're not done until we've used every single one of your holes. And after that we'll go back to the compound, and we'll do it again and again and again."
Wanda nods, grinning wolfishly, and settles over you, her cock on your lower stomach, ready to fulfill Natasha's promise.
You gulp and spread your legs wider, ready to give them everything.

Oh, the Shame
Summary: The mission was easy. The drive back? Not so much.
Warnings: ANGST because why not put some more of that in there before I write the ending.
Authors Note: 2 posts in a day??? Ah yes, I’ve been ✨inspired✨
Part 1
Gifs Not Mine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite her mind screaming for her to be selfish, Natasha did the most to support you and Wanda. She already knew she never wanted to knowingly pursue someone who was already taken. So instead she bottled up her attraction and decided to treat you the same way she would treat any of her teammates. While it was a struggle to adjust at first, Natasha liked to think her crush on you was well hidden.
You were excitable and oozing joy telling Wanda about your knew possible friendship with the spy. She was the last person in the compound that you got to open up which, again, was not a big surprise. What did surprise you was how much your girlfriend seemed to care about you all getting along. More than you thought she would at least.
“And then she did the flippy thing and Steve was screwed! I asked if she could show me how to do that since you know I'm not all that strong and she said she would!” You chirped and Wanda had a lazy smile on her face. You'd been cuddling on your bed watching a show when she asked how things went with training. It was nice to share things.
In previous relationships, most of your partners couldn't care less about you. You were glad you broke your habit of chasing borderline narcissists for Wanda. Especially now with your head on her chest and her fingers playing with your soft tresses.
“Maybe she could show both of us, detka,” Wanda suggested. Under the loving surface she had worries. Nothing was confirmed, but the look that Natasha had on her face when she had been told about your relationship still tugged at her conscience. It made her feel more than a little insecure in your relationship.
You were hers and you had no intention of changing that. Wanda, however, had taken a peek inside the spy's mind the second things felt off and knew the strong attraction the redhead had for you. She also knew that Natasha always had a way of making things work in her favor. If she wanted to, which, thankfully it didn't seem like it right now. Still... The witch wanted to avoid creating moments that might make either of you change your mind.
“Oh my god! Can we???” Your eyes widened. “Ugh! You're already so hot, but imagine if you could crush my head with your thighs like a watermelon,” you gushed causing your girlfriends jaw to drop. Maybe she didn't need to worry so much? She gathered herself. Pulling a bit farther away to lock eyes with you and tilt her head ever so slightly.
“Maybe I already can,” Wanda joked.
“Wanna try?” you laughed as a slight blush made its appearance on your face. That's when there was a knock on your door.
“Who is it?” Wanda asked.
“It's Tony, we got a mission and a little birdy told me you were both in here,” it was muffled through the door, but you could hear his smirk in his voice.
“Can we stop Clint from creeping through the vents? Why doesn't anyone else find it weird?” You joked and you heard Tony laugh from outside the door.
“No can do kiddo... Apparently, Clint can't be Hawkeye if he’s not kind of creepy,” Tony replied before leaving back down the hall.
“Guess I'll have to crush your head like a watermelon later,” Wanda’s breath tickled your ear and her low tone made your stomach flutter.
“Promise?”
“Pinky promise,”
The mission brief was short and to the point. While Wanda was assigned to go with Clint, Natasha, and Steve for a stealth approach, you were assigned in backup and mobile operations with Bruce, Tony, and Vision. No one thought too much about you being stuck in a room with the ever inquisitive robot.
You expected the invasive questions from the synthezoid. Wanda had already explained that he felt a deep connection due to the mind stone which is how she got her powers in the first place. Rather than deep diving into research you trusted Wanda. She had felt that pull too, but she had told you it wasn't reciprocated at that level.
“Vis, I know you have questions, but can't it wait till after the mission? We need to focus in case things go sideways,” You said, eyes glued back to the CCTV’s. Banner was currently reading a book and Stark had his feet kicked up on the desk without a care in the world.
“Eh, the pro’s are on it there’s really nothing to worry about,” Bruce said passively. Tony was usually the one to stir the pot, but Bruce picked up his habit of nosiness as of late.
“Yeah, besides... We were all a little confused when Wanda told us you were dating and instead of her and tin-man 2.0,” Stark joked. This was one of the few jokes he had that didn't sit well with you.
“What's that supposed to mean?” you felt your hands start to get clammy and you began picking at your nails. A nervous habit you'd had since childhood.
“Vis and witchy had a bit of a... thing before you came along,” Bruce finally tore his eyes from his book to see your reaction.
“I thought they had a thing after Y/n got here,” Stark shot a confused look toward Bruce. Both you and Vis silently watched the two go back and forth on the subject until Tony pointed accusingly at the synthezoid.
“Didn’t she kiss you at Y/n’s belated ‘welcome to the team’ party?” Tony asked. You felt your mouth go dry. She wouldn't have... That only happened 3 weeks ago...
For the first time in your life you watched Vis freeze on the spot. His eyes locked with yours in a worried expression.
“Payload spotted. Proceed with caution. There are 12 roving armed personnel on sight,” You heard Natasha’s voice through comms. You quickly turned back to the monitor. If you could just dissolve into nothing right then and there you would’ve.
“Copy that. Maximoff, you take care of the 2 on the east side of the payload. Romanoff, you take the 3 on the west. Barton and I will pick off the stragglers closer to the perimeter,” Steve instructed.
“Signal disruptor active. You have 10 minutes to take them out and grab the payload before they notice something’s wrong,” Tony spoke into his headset. You watched on anxiously as each team member slowly picked off the guards with silent precision. You were more than surprised at how quiet Steve had been considering the fact that he was usually an attention grabbing heavy hitter.
Things were going just as expected on Natasha’s end. She’d dragged the 3 rovers into a hidden spot as to not alert any of the other guards before working to disable the alarm on the mission objective. She had 4 minutes left, but she knew she could have the job done in 2.
“All clear, heading to Romanoff’s position,” Wanda spoke into her earpiece. The first guy was easy to take down, but the woman she had to face was much more resilient and landed a pretty solid punch on the left side of Wanda’s jaw. It stung enough to let her know there’d more than likely be a bruise there by the time they made it home.
By the time the witch joined Natasha, the alarm had been disabled and they were ready to make a quick exit. All in all it was an easy mission with little to no surprises. The two friends exchanged looks of confusion when they entered to mobile operations vehicle to leave. The tension was thick and Steve didn't even seem to notice.
Your eyes glanced up and widened with worry when you saw the bruise forming on Wanda’s face. Wanda was more than ready to have you dote on her in that soft way you always had. She was shocked to say the least when you just shook your head and trained your eyes on the ground in front of you. You mentally reprimanded yourself to try and stop your eyes from watering. You should at least be professional enough to wait until you were home and could talk privately.
There had to be an explanation, right? Wanda would've told you if she was unsure about being with you. She wouldn't lie to your face, right? Steve and Clint quickly moved to the front to drive back to the compound and the science bro’s we're whispering to each other as they opened the payload to investigate. Natasha knew you were upset. She had the same look on her face the second she was alone after finding out.
It wasn't just a look of sadness... it was a look of silent defeat. She watched Wanda reach for you, but you pulled away and asked for some space. Wanda soon sported the same look of defeat and melancholy. Jesus, it was like someone went out of their way to kick a puppy in front of the two of you. Wanda took the only available seat that wasn't at your side, next to Vision. Natasha's heart started to race, she knew she shouldn't be near you. Sitting next to you right now meant being your anchor for the 3 hours it would take for them to drive back to the compound.
The spy tried to opt into just standing, but a jolt of the vehicle made everyone reprimand her until she did otherwise and sat down. Vis and Wanda settled into a surface level conversation, but the witches eyes stayed glued to you. Your eyes remained avoidant of your girlfriends. You had to put on a stronger façade and soon or the pity party would start and never end. Why couldn't you go back to your blissful ignorance from this morning?
"Hey, are you gonna be okay?" Natasha was hesitant to ask and open up what was undeniably, a can of worms. You just shrugged in response.
"It's... It'll be okay... I hope," You sighed, talking as quietly as possible. "You guys really blew through that mission pretty fast though!" You quickly changed the subject and gave the redhead the best smile you could muster.
"I don't mind the easy ones. No casualties is always a win for me," Natasha felt her shoulders slowly relaxing into place. She understood now. You don't need an anchor to get through the drive, just a friendly distraction. For the next 3 hours she did exactly that.
She knew Wanda was watching the entire time and Natasha made a point to not make any physical contact under your girlfriend's watchful eye. She wasn't even glaring or angry, just sad. Left out. Hurting. Natasha was not a fan of contributing to her friend feeling like that... But there was only so much she could do and if Vis was already trying to cheer up the witch then the widow would make sure to try and cheer you up as well.
It worked. By the end of the drive you were cursing Nat for making you 'laugh so hard you have abs'. at the 2 hour mark Wanda gave up and put her headphones in and attempted to take a nap to not have to hear the two of you. Or see the two of you. Even her mind wouldn't let her rest. You and Natasha looked like a couple, despite the lack of physical contact. Natasha looked at you like you held the world and made you laugh without even trying.
In the two hours that she witnessed, you laughed harder than you had in the past week in your alone time with Wanda. Granted, most of your time together Wanda initiated a lot of heavy make out sessions and you watched a lot of sitcoms, but when she did try to make you laugh her jokes didn't seem to land the way that Nat's did. She hoped whatever was happening wasn't something she couldn't fix.
You hoped what was said earlier on in the night wasn't true.

The room was cool and the bed warm by the time you woke up. Legs shifting smoothly under the crisp sheets, you could hear the faint chirp of a lone bird outside the window along with what sounded like a gentle spring morning rain shower.
Plat plat plat plat the rain softly tapped against the window and quietly onto the roof above you. It was a sleepy rain, an early morning rain whose clouds blocked the sun from glaring through your window. It made waking a little easier, a little more soft.
The other thing that made waking a peaceful experience was the warm body you were tangled up with. The soft, curled ends of light brown hair tickled your bare shoulder, and it was the first thing you saw in the dim room as you opened your eyes. Your head rose and fell slowly with Wanda’s steady breath. It was resting on her bare chest, the skin there hot against your ear. She always slept so hot.
Your legs were tangled with hers, your arm thrown across her torso. As you blinked your eyes awake, you tilted your head upwards to get an angle of her from below. The stretch of her jawbone, the mountain of her cheekbones just beyond it. Heavy eyelashes fluttered closed, deep pink lips pursed in her sleep. The crinkle between her eyebrows that was always there when she slept. She was starting to get a permanent wrinkle from it, and while she was embarrassed of it, you told her it was just the imprint of all the dreams she’d ever had right there in one wrinkle between her brows so she would never forget them. Wanda was always a deep dreamer, for better or worse.
The puffy comforter you shared rested right below her breasts, likely pushed down during her overheated sleep. Her hair was splayed over her chest, barely covering the peaks of her soft pink nipples. Her skin looked pale and soft under the dim gloomy morning light. You let your hand glide over the soft expanse of her tummy, fingers pressing into her flesh as you shift, waking up a little more. Letting out a silent yawn, you casually let your hand stroll further down beneath the blanket, being thrown off guard a little when your hand touches cool silicone between her legs.
It was Wanda’s new creation still left strapped around her hips via harness from last night’s endeavors. It took a lot of research and magical effort for Wanda to create her enchanted strap that functions like a biological part of her body. Using her magic, she enchanted the strap so that she can feel through it and cum through it. Let’s just say the first few tries once she perfected it could be described as very quick, hot, and wet on her end. It was the most mind-blowing feeling she had ever felt, being able to feel you inside. Even now, a few weeks later, she still warns you how sensitive it still is, which you could tell from the beginning because of how fast she came with you.
Wanda’s magic was very powerful—spontaneous creation. For that reason, she insisted on wearing a condom the first several times using the enchanted strap out of fear of accidental pregnancy, though you knew she secretly had a breeding kink. Finally, she stopped using condoms, but she still pulled out of you every time. It was hot, seeing her get so close to just doing it, to just letting go and planting her cum deep inside you. You could see it on her face every time. But every time, milliseconds before release, she pulls out and chooses to spill all over your tummy or back instead. Of course, that was also hot in its own right. But you desperately wanted her to cum inside. You weren’t sure if it was the risk or the ownership aspect of it, but you fucking needed it.
And you knew she wanted it too. She had a tendency to hold you down when she’s about to cum, almost as if she is about to force you to take her cum, which you willingly would take every single drop. You even told her in a heated moment of passion to cum inside you once, and she almost did accidentally. Hearing you say that made her orgasm immediately, and she had to frantically pull out right as she spurted all over your mound, making sounds you’d never heard her make.
And now, in the dim morning light with cozy rain coming from outside, and Wanda’s soft, warm sleeping body with her cock in your hand as you thought over all these times with the new magical piece, you wanted it.
But she was so pretty and peaceful in her sleep with her crinkled brow of dreams and her slowly rising and falling chest. You wouldn’t wake her.
Licking your lips, you shifted your body so that you hovered over her, taking great care in slinking down her body without moving the blankets or the bed too much. With the hem of the blanket resting at the back of your neck, you rested your elbows over her plush thighs, eyeing the strap that now sat right in front of your face.
Humming, you trail your fingers to the harness straps, fiddling with the fabric on her hips for a moment before you carefully let them trail to the base of her cock, taking it in your fist gently. Glancing back up to her, you saw the same image—her head resting on the pillow, turned to the side, sleeping peacefully like an angel. The warmth between your legs grew as you formulated the plan of your desires, licking your lips and coming closer to her strap.
You placed Wanda’s length in your mouth. It surprised you every time how big she was—an advantage she smugly gave herself when crafting her piece. Suctioning your lips, you began to swirl your tongue around the tip of the strap with a gentle but purposeful pressure.
It didn’t take long before your mouth ignited the spell within the strap, and her magic peered through the silicone in cracks that looked like molten lava in a crimson hue. That’s how you knew she was aroused now, and as you looked up at her again, she was still sleeping as peacefully as ever.
It took some practice for you to understand how to give your girlfriend a blowjob since it was your first time, but Wanda was patient and could get off with basically any touch you gave her with how sensitive the strap felt when she wore it anyways.
So you lowered your mouth further down on her strap that was warming up between your lips, keeping your hand on the base to keep it steady. Letting your other hand gently squeeze her thigh, you sucked her gently, wanting to make her feel good but not wanting to wake her up. It startled you when, as you took her entirety in your mouth so that the tip of her cock poked the back of your throat, Wanda’s legs twitched under you. It was only once and, looking up as you deepthroated her, you saw that the sleeping look on her face remained unchanged.
The depth with which you took her in your throat prompted tears to form in your eyes and saliva in your mouth. Sniffling, you kept taking her all the way in and then suctioning as you lifted your mouth from her, letting your tongue flick around her tip before deepthroating her again. You were slow and gentle, but she was hot and throbbing with magical arousal. You could even smell it on her now and, reaching down under the base where her slit was, you found that she was wet there, too.
Getting excited, you bobbed your head perhaps a little too hard, and she twitched again, this time letting her head sway to the other side. You paused, waiting for any sign of further movement or signs of being awake, but she was still deep asleep, the crease in her brow deeper now. You went back to sucking her off dutifully, and as wet sounds filled the air, Wanda moved again, this time arching her back. The movement sent her hips bucking up, which shoved her cock into your throat unexpectedly, causing you to choke on her girth.
Recovering, you continued carefully and watched as she twitched and squirmed in her sleep, somehow still staying deep asleep even as you could feel her throb faster. Her lips fell open at one point, soft gasps of air filling the quiet, dim room along with your wet sucking sounds. Her body heated up even more under your hands, and she started to buck her hips more.
Picking up your speed, you deepthroated her more and more, choking yourself on her strap while she grew even more restless. You knew she was seconds away from cumming, so you grabbed the base of her strap and sucked harder and faster. Finally, with a whispery, sleepy moan, and a more violent twitch of her hips, Wanda came in your mouth. You kept your mouth around her, feeling her warm cum gush at the back of your throat and ooze down it. You waited, letting her twitch and gasp and push out every last drop of cum before you finally swallowed it and took her out of your mouth. She was sweet to the taste with just a hint of metal, an interesting mix of her magic that reminded you of the taste of her real arousal.
There were many benefits to this magical creation of Wanda’s, one of many being that there was an unlimited supply.
Her cock now wet and shiny and slightly glowing, you carefully crawled back up her body and straddled her. She had almost immediately fallen back into utter stillness as soon as she came, except for her chest that was rising and falling much faster now. Biting your lip, you reached down and took her breasts into your hands, squeezing and letting your thumb roll over her nipples that were already rock hard for you. You could feel her cock, resting below your thigh, twitch and throb, basically vibrating with magic. All you could taste was her cum that coated the inside of your mouth, the taste still soaked into your tongue.
She just looked so pretty, even more relaxed now, having just helplessly cum in your mouth without even knowing it. Leaning down, you pressed a chaste kiss to her still lips before moving your mouth to her neck and pressing soft, wet kisses there. You let your hand grope her breasts for a moment before sliding it down and rubbing her tummy, lowering it further and further until you reached below yourself and took her strap in your hand again.
Still kissing her neck, and feeling her twitch once below you, you adjusted yourself over her cock and rubbed your throbbing, wet slit down her length, not letting it go inside. You remember the first time you did that, before she ever went inside you with the new strap, and she had prematurely came. She had been so embarrassed, taking off the cum-filled condom and tearing the strap off of her and getting up, but you’d found it so hot. You loved having this control over her. You loved knowing that you held this power over her, that you could make her cum so easily, that she desired you so much that she found it hard to even have any control. You wanted to tease her constantly, to degrade her and embarrass her by using her desire for you against her.
Wanda’s sleepy breaths hitched as you rubbed your warm, wet folds up and down her length, leaving a wet, sticky trail on the strap. She shifted under you, turning her head back to the other side. Her eyebrows creased deeper, her face contorting into a look of neediness as she subconsciously bucked her hips, pushing herself harder onto you. Chuckling, you gave her one last kiss on her neck before sitting up fully, unable to control yourself anymore. You wanted to get what you truly wanted out of her before she woke up.
Your breathing growing heavier, along with the rain pattering much harder on the window outside, you lined Wanda’s cock up with your entrance, letting it sit there pressed against it for a moment. You took a deep breath—her size still surprised you, and you still needed to relax and prepare yourself before taking her in. Thanks to the blowjob and how wet you were, there was enough lubrication for you to lower yourself down on her cock, feeling her slide right in and stretch your walls around her.
“Fuck,” you whispered as you stopped halfway, feeling a tinge of pain. Wanda shifted beneath you, which didn’t help, so you just took another deep breath and basically slammed yourself down on her, Wanda’s entire cock ramming deep inside you.
As if on cue, right as you let out a louder shriek than you meant to because of the way her cock hit your cervix, Wanda also let out a sleepy form of a moan, her head swaying to the side as her legs shifted under the blankets below you.
Placing your hands on her shoulders, you stayed still and felt her throb inside you as she squirmed, watching her eyes scroll side to side behind her eyelids. Biting your lip, you slowly lifted yourself off halfway before coming back down again, nearly seeing stars when she hit your deepest point again.
It was obvious that doing this wasn’t going to keep her asleep for much longer. She was still moving, eyelids fluttering, lips twitching as if trying to speak between her growing breaths. She was breathing faster now, redness blooming on her cheeks.
There was no point in being careful now. Grinding your teeth together, you rolled your hips, throwing your head back as she hit your sweet spot in your lower tummy. She was so big that her cock was basically all you could feel as you rode her, feeling pure pleasure bloom inside you as you anticipated the ending you were dreaming about.
“Mmmm-nnnn” Wanda murmured as she squirmed more beneath you, kicking at the sheets covering her feet and arching her back. “Ahhh…” She was starting to come to, being lured by your actions into an in-between state between sleeping and waking. She was arching her back off the bed and bucking her hips up into you, natural instinct to have more friction and be as close to you as possible coming through.
Power filled you as you stared down at the helpless witch, her cock lodged deep inside you, throbbing as you bounced on it. You bit the tip of your tongue and squeezed her shoulders, digging your nails into her skin as you rode her cock.
The feeling of your nails in Wanda’s skin was the one thing that brought her into awareness. Her eyelashes fluttered, mouth dropping open. Finally, her eyes opened fully, exposing those pretty irises that were usually green but were now a deep, sleepy crimson red from the magic she was subconsciously using.
A grin slashed across your own face, your tummy filled with excitement as you watched the look of confusion on Wanda’s once peaceful face. This was the second moment you were anticipating the most. Her eyebrows contorted in confusion as she stared up at you, her eyes blank with dumb sleepiness at first as her mouth let out heavy breaths. Then she blinked a few times, her eyes falling down over your body and to her own. She saw her cock, glistening with wet, appear halfway with every other bounce you made. She watched it appear as you lifted up, and then disappear again as you slapped yourself down on her lap.
Then she felt it. The tight, wet warmth. The squeezing of your walls around her. The more textured parts around your cervix, how much warmer and tighter you felt the deeper she was. Your lips smushed against the base of her cock when you had her fully inside. The ridges of your cunt massaging her length as you jerked up and down on her, the friction feeling like a white hot flame of pleasure with each stroke.
Her mouth fell open wider with a loud, startled moan, her hands immediately slapping onto your hips and holding them. “Baby!” she exclaimed in surprise, trying to blink the bleariness out of her eyes as you continued fucking yourself on her.
You giggled at her reaction, how she was confused but so turned on and so obviously overwhelmed by the feeling of you milking her cock as soon as she woke up, this being the very first thing her consciousness experienced this rainy morning. You felt her cock swell a little inside you, now that she was awake with her magic.
Her breathing turned into gasps, her eyes squeezing shut as she hissed through her teeth, her hips trembling as you slammed down onto them. “Fuck, baby, fuck, fuck,” she croaked, her voice sleepy and husky and burning hot in your ear.
“I always wanted to wake you up like this,” you whispered, scratching down her chest and over her nipples, causing her to let out the cutest little high-pitched whimper.
“Fuck,” was all she could whisper, holding your hips as they bounced up and down on her length.
You could see the sweat breaking on her forehead, the flush in her cheeks, the way her tummy tightened under your palm. She was getting close.
“D-Did you use prot-protection?” Wanda stammered, her brown hair starting to stick to her temples. She knew the answer. She could feel it, but she needed to ask anyway.
Chuckling, you let out a pornographic moan just to make her shudder and then said, “Nope.”
Wanda’s eyes widened a little in panic. She could already feel herself leaking a little, or maybe it was just your wetness, which was also dripping down her shaft and onto her thighs. Through the slight panic in your eye you could see the desperation, the idea she always dreams about sitting right there in her brain.
You purposefully clenched, and she bit her lip and threw her head back, her body lifting off the bed as she pushed herself into you. You gasped at the depth but used your strength to pin her hips back down to the bed.
“Baby,” she breathed, her eyes barely open. “Baby, get up.” Her voice grew breathy with quickness. “I’m gonna cum. Get up.” She slapped your hip a few times to make you get up, but you kept riding her.
“No,” you purred, leaning down closer to her face and smirking. “You can easily push me off if you want to.” You watched her, struggling to keep her eyes open, her body moving with your bouncing, look up at you with such a strong mix of horror and desire on her face. You waited, but she only continued to struggle beneath you, not making any effort to use her magic or strength to push you off. “So why don’t you?”
Wanda whined, throwing her head back and closing her eyes as if just looking at you was going to make her bust. Her nails dug into your hips as she trembled, looking like the pleasure was turning into pain as you continued to ride her. There was no way she would actively deny you. She could stop herself all she wanted when it was her in control, but if you were going to take it from her, she couldn’t not acquiesce.
“Baby, please,” she murmured through gritted teeth, tears forming in the corners of her eyes from the struggle to keep herself from cumming. You knew she could stop it if she wanted to—you didn’t have her physically wrangled, and even if you did, her magic could put an end to it immediately. “Please, get up, I can’t hold it.”
Grinning, you slam your hand over her throat, and she gasps, choking slightly as you squeeze her throat. “You’re so cute like this,” you whisper, “Begging me to stop. You’re the one who can’t control yourself.”
Tears were falling down her cheeks now. “Please, please,” she begged, her eyes squeezed shut. “Please, baby, I can’t—I can’t hold it—I’m gonna cum, fuck, please…”
“Do it. Give me all your cum,” you hiss, riding her harder to the point where the bedframe slams against the wall. Wanda, choking on the pressure of your hand around her throat, trembled and violently twitched below and inside you as she tried her hardest to hold it. But she was hot to the touch, and so were you, and your cunt felt so good squeezing around her cock, and you were taking complete advantage of her which she found to be so hot, and she hadn’t been able to stop dreaming about breeding you for weeks now, and it was all too much for her to even stop it.
“Fuck, baby, fuck, get off, I’m gonna… fuck, fuck fuck!”
Wanda’s nails dug into your hips as her words turned into incoherent babbles, her mouth falling wide open and her body lifting completely off the bed as she finally lost all control. You tried to watch her as long as you could, but your eyes fluttered closed when finally you felt her cock give one last hard twitch before loads of her burning hot cum went gushing deep inside you, splashing the wall of your cervix and filling your tummy all up.
The feeling made you cum, shivering on top of her and squeezing around her which only prolonged her orgasm even more. Wanda saw flashing images of you pregnant, which had been fueling what she thought was fear for weeks now, but she was learning just now that that fear was pure fetish. She tugged your hips down onto her and pushed herself as deep inside you as possible as she loaded you with her cum, surprising you with her strength as she kept you in a complete hold.
After a few moments, when she had filled you with all she had to give, which was a shocking amount this time because of how long she had held it, and you were limp against her chest, recovering from your own orgasm, Wanda finally relaxed, letting go of your hips and closing her eyes.
“Fuck,” she breathed, panting as sweat rolled down her tear-streaked face. You were quiet for a minute, relishing the feeling of a full tummy of Wanda’s cum, her cock throbbing gently in your cunt. You were so glad she’d enchanted that strap.
Finally, you hummed, looking up at her. She looked dazed and fuzzy-minded, her eyes hooded and cheeks blushing red from embarrassment. She sighed and grinned sheepishly, placing her hands over her face. You smirked. “That was a lot better than cumming on my tits, right?”
Wanda breathed. “Well, good morning to you, too.”
