i'm rereading wangsangningxianxuan and i'm having so much fun. i dont normally like rereading chapter 1 bc to me it feels Too dramatic in hindsight, but i mean its nie huaisang so what are you gonna do, but because i dont like reading chapter 1 its been a while since i reread all of it until today when i just went what if.......i skip chapter 1. so i did and im mcloving it wsnxx is such a good fic

- lwj's is mainly clouds but with a sun overhead, and Something hiding in a forest of lotus and peonies.

- wen ning's is bright red with lotus, peonies, and clouds all around the border. it also has the canon nie sect symbol in the corners

- wwx's has lotus flowers trailing from right top corner, peonies along the bottom, a red sun surrounded by clouds in the left top corner, and the nie sect symbol in the dead center of the case

For your "ship it or not" game: wangsangningxianxuan. Yes it is a terrifying thing at first glance. No it is not actually inconceivable. One of my friends mentioned this on Discord and the more I think about it the less unreasonable it sounds. Send help. I don't know who I am anymore

1. Why don’t you ship it? Personally, I don’t ship our golden peacock with anyone but his wife. I’ve seen some chengxuan floating around on discords I live in, but it’s not for me. I don’t ship Wen Ning with anyone either (though his one-sided pining for WWX is cute, bless him). For those reasons alone I’d have to pass on this, but I guess if they were in some sort of polyromantic relationship it would be okay..? You do you.

2. What would have made you like it? JZX is a straight man. I’m sorry, but I don’t see him as anything but a silly straight man! He’s sweet to his wife and a bit of a bumbling fool, but I can’t imagine him any other way. I guess if you altered JZX’s entire personality I’d be more on board, but then what’s the point? Also NHS would eat WN alive, there’s no way I can see them in proximity. This quintet is off limits for me lol

3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it? Uhh.. that I bet they make great cuddle piles together? ALKJFADKLJA they seem like they’d be a good group to balance each other out when making decisions and settling arguments, so they have that going for them..

6/30 of the current fics in the zhuilingyizhen ship tag are mine. 20%. I’m slowly dying.

Honestly, god-tier ship solely for the junior quartet dynamic™. They all just fit so well and we don’t know just enough to have so much hc-able material for ljy & oyzz.

Oyzz deserves love & is so underrated it hurts me. He’s so soft please just give the boy so appreciation <3

Childhood friends jl & oyzz (not that jl ever acknowledges being friends w/ him like the stupid dumbass he is) is so good. And ljy & lsz are already practically canon to me.

That being said, pining ljy (I don’t care for who, he just pines) is sooo good. But oblivious ljy?? Y e s. Lsz is everknowing & a big part in how all these dumbasses get together (but oyzz forces lsz to love them too bc lsz deserves love too).

But the angst potential is like... 110%. oyzz feeling overshadowed by the others 24/7 and being pressured into leading a sect & learning cultivation when he’s very into pacifism.

lsz has so much stress from being the mom friend™ and sometimes he needs a break from all the canon hurt okay... like he just got his dad back guys.

jl... is an orphan w/ mommy, daddy, & uncle issues. must I say any more?

Ljy is hc-ed as having no parents or abusive parents. That... is... uh. Not great. Plus not being a perfect Lan also pits him & his best friend against each other kinda, which he hates.

But the crack shenanigans between these four is *chef’s kiss*

I probably project too much of my chaotic friend group antics onto the quartet, ngl.

There’s a couple AUs where i think it would be good. The idea of it seems cool at first, but then you really realize how messed up canon is. So. Yeah. Very mixed feelings with this one, but could be cute.

5/10 might ship?? Would definitely not be opposed to fic recs of them tho

MINGXICHENG:

Oooh... I saw a couple posts, read a fic or two, and I was hooked.

Wouldn’t write fic for it, do read quite a bit of fic for it. pretty good fic too.

I love the dynamic of them! I already ship nielan, and mingcheng, and xicheng, so... it works.

I feel like it’d be a pretty healthy relationship after they settle into it. Lwj gets more peace & a pining partner, wwx gets another bf, and wn gets love. Win-win-win.

Literally just discovered the ship last week and was offended I didn’t know about it before. Like, poly ship?? In MDZS?? How did I never know about it??

(In my defense, I knew there were some poly ships involving them but I wasn’t sure which combos were actually popular.)

Have you seen the chaos they could create? (Plus it supports mingxicheng which is always a plus!!)

Serious answer though, I love the dynamic between these characters! Sangxian & wangning are both underrated and I will fight for them.

2. What’s your favorite thing about this ship?

How it started as a crack ship before people were like “wait a sec... this could work.” I stan (most) crack ships turned real ships.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Not necessarily unpopular (idk what unpopular opinions are anymore) but kinda surprised that JZX is there?? I mean now that I’ve seen it I can’t see it w/o him... wonder how he would get together with lwj & nhs though. I know that jyl & wn & jzx are also a poly ship (omg I should rank poly ships later) so I kinda see what they’re getting at with wn & jzx?? Honestly I prefer wq & jyl & jzx so... ye.

I don’t actively ship it, if that makes sense, but I do ship another MDZS poly ship so... yeah.

loving the wsnxx idea im having ab like. jzxuan and wwx had a Rivalry™ as children (and i mean like. as 11 year olds) but only wwx saw it as such and they still call each other 'a-xuan' and 'a-ying' but jzxuan started calling wwx 'a-ying' bc jyl and everyone else tended to call him 'a-xian' and he was like 'I Want My Own Way To Call Him' but wwx thought he was making fun of him so he started calling him 'a-xuan' in retaliation and they did that shit all thru high school. nhs was just constantly like 'do you have a crush on jin zixuan' while wwx got offended like 'how DARE u a-xuan is TERRIBLE facewise and personalitywise and he's in love with my SISTER and-'
