Wangxian Figure Skating AU

aight a grand total of one (1) person asked for the info and that’s all i needed because i cant stop thinking about them

(thank you @morathicain for continuing to indulge me even when no one else is paying attention to me <3)

anyways here we go

lan wangji has been skating since he was a kid

so have wei wuxian and jiang cheng

madam yu was very accomplished skater when she was younger but she no longer competes

possibly the same for lan qiren but i haven’t decided

jiang yanli and lan xichen are both average skaters but have no interest in doing anything with it (much to madam yu’s disappointment and lan qiren’s indifference)

yanli owns a restaurant and lives with her girlfriend wen qing

wen qing is a doctor 

wen ning also lives with them because wen qing worries about him

he is very worried about intruding but yanli doesn’t mind it

god can you imagine him helping her cook and them just being the softest people ever together ok focus

wen ning works the zamboni at the local rink that the boys practice at (i was obsessed with the zamboni as a kid and i’ve always wanted to ride one)

(if you dont know what a zamboni is it’s the thing that smooths the ice out again after its been used)

wen ning can skate but he’s too nervous to do it in front of people (like the archery) am i doing that so i can keep the adorable scene where wwx helps him? maybe what do you care

lan xichen is either a musician or a professor i haven’t decided

lan xichen and nie mingjue are together and everyone is just waiting for one of them to just fucking propose already damnit

wei wuxian and jiang cheng still have their dumbass bestie trio with nie huaisang 

nie huaisang cant sakate but he likes to come hang out at the rink and watch and draw people (it’s good inspiration trust me i would know)

nie huaisang has definitely made out with both of his besties at least once but none of them are actually interested each other

it was really just an experiment for jiang cheng

their mothers still tried to set jin zixuan and yanli up but it didn’t work out for obvious reasons

they’re good friends tho

jin zixuan deserves friends

both wei wuxian and lan wangji are very good skaters

jiang cheng is not too far behind them but still has an inferiority complex (thanks madam yu)

lan wangji and wei wuxian get paired together for a competition (much to lan qiren’s annoyance and lan xichen’s amusement)

lan xichen knows that his baby brother has been watching wei wuxian from afar since they were kids and is crushing hard

wei wuxian thinks lan wangji is very cool and handsome but the guy just wont talk to him :(

so obviously this is a wonderful opportunity to finally get him to crack

lan wangji has no experience with pair skating but picks it up quickly

wei wuxian does and quite likes it

he’s been practicing pair routines with jiang cheng since they were teenagers (madam yu insisted that they learn because she will not have these kids ruining her legacy because they cant skate with a partner)

wei wuxian prefers the more traditionally female moves when in pairs because he really likes being lifted and spun around and tossed in the air

he thinks he can use this against lan wangji to get him to crack but oh god he actually really likes having his hands on his waist and how does he lift him so easily oh he’s so fucked

lan wangji really likes it too he’s just better at pretending it doesnt affect him

until he cant because they’re both horny bastards and god damnit why is wei ying such a flirt brother help me

wei wuxian will not stop talking about lan wangji (much to jiang cheng’s dismay and nie huaisang’s delight)

they really do work very well together when they focus and their routines always look beautiful

that’s all for now but i’ll probably come back to this and add more as i add to it in my head
