Well, guys, a single person told me I should make this into a post, and so now you're all getting another fabulous take on Thomas Hewitt I've been looking for an excuse to talk about.
Question: 'Do you think realistically would it be hard to get into a relationship with Tommy?'
Short Answer: Yes! And no.
Ha, you really thought there'd be a short answer to this? No, let's dive in.
Thomas, on the surface, is a very awkward, to himself kind of guy. He doesn't like stepping out of his comfort zones, and he hates change. He thrives on strict routine, and isn't one to do something without being told. (ex: he doesn't take initiative at the slaughterhouse, he does exactly as he's told and doesn't stray from those rules)
He has an extremely strong sense of familial bond and ties to his family, he wouldn't betray them for anything, (and yes, that includes you too). It's a huge cultural things in small towns. It doesn't matter who your family is or what they've done. It's true ride or die mentality.
Considering these things, if you want to hope to have a relationship with him, you're gonna have to take up their lifestyle. Every part of it.
If you've ever been to an old southern woman's house, you know how insulting it is to refuse food. It's practically the same thing as spitting on their shoes and slapping them in the face. If you refuse a home cooked meal, especially when you're still considered a 'guest' in the house, you will end up on their bad side.
And Thomas is a Mama's boy, through and through, if his mother doesn't like you, he doesn't like you.
And that mentality is only doubled for the Hewitts. Their family has starved, and if you've ever struggled for food, you understand why they won't let it happen again. I could go into a whole in depth analysis on the Hewitt family and their cannibalism, but let's get back to Tommy.
Thomas doesn't trust people easily. It's in their family, in his blood. The Hewitts (especially after they start murdering people) are suspicious and unforgiving people. People will often assume that they became isolated after the town died out and everyone left, but in reality, they were isolated long before that, as Luda Mae, Hoyt, and even Monty (though much less than the other two) wouldn't tolerate Tommy's mistreatment and abuse.
And as for Thomas' personal distrust, I can almost guarantee there were several times people would pretend to be his friend or even go as far as 'asking him out' only to immediately burst into laughter and mock him the moment he got excited.
Now, he's much more closed off and distrusting of strangers kindness and friendliness.
...But, he's a huge romantic.
He absolutely loves the idea of having someone to love.
His favorite books Luda Mae would read to him as a child were the princess stories. He would dream of being the prince charming, saving the princess from the retched beast so they could get married and live happily ever after.
But, as he got older, he started believing he was better fit for the role of the filthy monster that never falls in love.
Packaging all this up into one neat present, you get a pretty clear idea of what kind of man Thomas is.
So, how does one actually end up in a relationship with him?
It's simple! In the most complicated way possible.
First, is actually meeting him in a none murderer-victim setting, because once you hit that area, there's really no going back. If he's told you're next, you're next.
He's going to be really suspicious of you, no matter what you do really. Even if you do become 'friends', he's a rather anxious man, and he's going to have doubts for a long time.
You're going to have to get on everyone's good side. Like I said before, he cares deeply about his family and their opinions, and being around them and accepted by them is a non-negotiable. And I don't just mean Luda Mae, I mean everyone, including Monty and Hoyt.
Speaking of Hoyt, that will have it's own ground rules as well.
Thomas, despite being a big hunk of a man who could easily toss around someone twice Hoyt's weight, is not the man of the house. Hoyt is like a father figure to him, and he looks up to him. Well, not in every way, but you get the picture.
He isn't going to take well to you bad-mouthing Hoyt. Of course, he doesn't care if you want to rant about the man's annoying presence sometimes, but it depends on how close the two of you are and what you're saying.
If you try to accuse the man of being abusive, or not caring about his family, Thomas isn't going to like it. Hoyt is a mean hothead, sure, and by today's standards, most people probably would consider him abusive to a certain extent, but this is a small southern town in the 1970s.
Hell, most of the 'abusive' traits Hoyt show are still practiced in small towns to this day, and are considered normal behavior. Again, I could go into a whole spiel about Hoyt's character and actions, but I'll get to the point.
If there is one thing true about Hoyt, it's that he cares about his family. Every action he takes is in their interest, and he'd put his life on the line to keep them safe, including Thomas. Hell, he protected Tommy as a kid just as much as Luda Mae did.
So, yea, really any bad talk about his family is going to get you on his bad side.
But, let's say that you follow these rules, and you mesh well with his family and him, how long will it take for Tommy to actually catch feelings for you?
...Pretty much almost immediately.
Thomas is reserved and untrusting, yes, but he catches crushes faster than a Tommy-hater can catch these hands. (for reference, that's really fast)
He's a sweetheart, and eager to be loved and accepted, so the irrational, romantic side of his brain eager hops on the Y/N train the moment you show him any real affection.
But as for actually loving you? That's going to take a really long time.
Luda Mae always raised him on the idea that love can't exist without trust, and he takes that to the extreme. He literally won't consider a relationship with you until he can completely trust you with his whole heart.
And once that trust is earned and the two of you become 'official', that's it. He's in it for life. In his eyes, you're the only one for him, and he takes that belief to heart. So it is extremely important that you only enter the relationship when you're 100% ready. He won't understand the concept of needing a 'break', or time apart. Once you're in it, you're in it, and if you ever leave, there's no coming back, and Thomas will leave your life entirely, with the rest of the Hewitts shunning you as a result.
Because of this, it's also important to remember that there really is no such thing as 'harmless' flirting with Thomas. He doesn't understand the concept of friendly flirting. He's either going to assume that you're mocking him or that you actually do have feelings for him.
Communication is a huge key with this man!!! He doesn't pick up well on hints or social cues. Be up front of and honest about you're feelings or he will have no idea how you really feel, and it'll only cause heartbreak and confusion in the long run.
...Well. Now that I've practically made a How-to Guide on romancing Thomas, I think I'll call it here. Good luck on attracting your local Hewitt boys. See y'all in the next one.

Thomas Hewitt
The Hewitt family did their best for you especially when they put you in school, considering the right situation they were in, it was hard to put you in one and it was a miracle when they found one for you.
You’re a good kid, they all know this, so it’s a surprise when the school told Luda Mae that you were fighting a few kids at school.
She’s used to violence, but coming from you? She’d never thought you had in in you.
“Tell me dear, why did you fight those kids? she asked, taking you out of the school. You stayed silent for a few minutes, to which she understood.
Eventually, she you spoke up. “They were making fun of dad…” Luda Mae listened.
“They called him… a freak, a…a monster, a weirdo… I couldn’t take it. Dad did too much for me… for all of us.”
She gave you a small smile while rubbing your hand. “I can assure you that those kids are the least of his problems, but I am proud of you for sticking up for your father, I’m sure you can stick up for yourself too, your father Thomas would be proud too.”
She was half right. When Thomas found out he was worried that you’d get in trouble, luckily you didn’t. But he was proud of you, also telling you that you didn’t need to do that for him.
Vincent Sinclair
Lester was the one who picks you up and drops you off from school and back into town, and Lester was the laid back uncle who would only intervene if it was necessary.
In this case, he did, “say kid, you messed those kids up pretty bad back there, mind telling me what happened?” You mumbled something but he didn’t hear. He didn’t say anything else u til you got back to Ambrose.
You walked past Bo to which he scoffed in response, “what happened to them?” “They beat up a few kids at school.” He had a shocked look, “well it’s about time! I knew they had it in them!” “Bo! This is serious!”
Even though they were outside, Vincent heard them and rushed over to you. Checking you for any injuries you may have. “Dad.. I’m fine.” He held onto your shoulders with a small huff.
Vincent was always the worried father, but you understood why, he dosen’t want anything bad to happen to you, that’s it.
Since he taught you sign language, it made communication a lot better. “Why did you fight those kids?” You replied with no hesitation. “They were making fun of you, I couldn’t just stand by and let them talk down about you like that.”
He could tell by the way your fists balled up that you were still angry, he held into one of the fists and pulling you into a hug, his actions spoke for him. “You don’t have to fight for me” heck he’s already used to Bo’s remarks 24/7.
Jason Voorhees
He’s used to the “hurtful” words the kids may say, but he never expected you to take action on it. He stood there frozen when you beat up one of the kids who were begging for you to stop
Even when the other two kids tried to stop you, you fought both of them too. You were still angry, fists balled up while you were breathing heavily, getting ready to throw another punch
He stopped you just in time, the kids ran away as he held onto you. You eventually stopped trying due to his string grip. “Sorry you had to see that. They were making fun of you.”
He put you down and made you face towards him. “That doesn’t matter, are you okay? Did they hurt you?”
You replied back, “No. I'm okay. They didn't get the chance to kah a finger on me.”
He doesn't know where to be proud or concerned, in this case, he's both.
He dosent blame you, if someone made fun of you he’d practically do the same thing.
But you can get in trouble if you get caught, Jason dosen’t want you to partake in violence so he wouldn’t want you to do it again.
Michael Myers
Out of all the others, he’s the more proud one.
A very proud father, Michael likes violence, but he has his limits. In this case, it was deserved, even though Michael could care less about what some kid can say about him, or anyone else for that matter.
He could fightthe kid but that wouldn’t be fair for obvious reasons
He stood back and watched you best up those kids, this tells him that he's been teaching you well on fighting.
“And if you talk bad about my dad again, I swear on his life I’ll bury your body in different states!”
Okay... He didn't teach you to say that.
Once the kids left, he walked up to you and placed his hand on your hewd as his way if saying that he was proud of you.
But that didn’t stop your anger though. He guided you home with his hand on your head, walking in the shadows of the town.

Bruh I got this idea in my head that y/n is getting bullied/scared by some asshole and due to being spooked she hides behind slasher. Slasher is probably confused af. Request open
Yeah anyways how slashers would react:
Tw: y/n isnt very smart, begging(not tw, more just cringe warning), death(not y/n, only bully)
Collector:
Head tilt, kinda confused, He probably was watching this whole argument (somone yelling at y/n) from shadows few minutes already, untill he decided to go in and end this little stupid game of theirs.
When he went in to the room y/n was in, the last thing he expected was her running to hide behind him, being visibly more scared of some normal looking person than some scary guy in mask.
Well thats cute, little butterfly like you, hugging his back, begging to be protected? So cute. Well he wont keep the lady waiting, pests like this bully of yours dont deserve to be in his collection anyways, so why live?
Quick stabs in stomach and neck will do the thing. Now what to do with y/n, well she is terryfied but its difficult to say if shes scared because of Asa deadly activities or the person that was just killed
If y/n decides to thank him for saving, he will probably🤨🤨🤨 kinda confused, like gurl you realise that you are prolly next? Tbh this gratitude probably saved her, because he is now very intresed in her, and will gladly 'invite' her to his nasty as lookin hotel place hideout
Billy Lenz:
He probably already knew shes bullied by her roomate, he is known to stalk people
He does not like the attitude they give her, not at all, of course He is a bab person and serial killer ect, but he is horny aswell and He has crush on any breathing women in 100meter radius, so obviously idea of his little crush being bullied makes him angry
He probably come out from attic just to steal some food and the cat(billy cat person) when he heard shouting, he recognise voice, its that bitch that is being mean to y/n. Billy being Billy tried to sneak and watch yall argue
Y/n probably sees him in corner of room and thought that its one of girls she lives with(Fic takes place in the same place as movie) so she went to him grabbed him and went"🥺shes mean to me again😭"
He will be flabagastered, a f e m a l e just touch him??? Consensually?? And asked for help?? Well now He doesnt crush you anymore, he loves you now. Will stab the bully for you honey. How could they treat you like that?
Will hug you and say some billy-level unholy stuff
Micheal Myers:
He is probably more confused than y/n and her bully together. Ayo human touch? Ayo some girl begging him? To kill somone??? Oh boy thats a lot to take in🤯
I mean win win, he gets kill, she gets rid of bully.
If y/n decides to thank him he will have error, noone really did it before? I mean it doesnt change anything but its still kinda noice? He wont kill her, but will stalk her atferwards, and maybe kidnap yoink her.
Thomas Hewitt:
Well guess who is the dinner today!
Y/n was probably on trip with her 'friends' and one of them acted rather dry and mean >:(
Thomas would probably notice fast, they didnt try to help her, and even said something along the lines "take her not me you monster!" Overall not slay person
He will feel bad but not to point to spare her 🙄 but when she litteraly hide behind him? Da killer? She more scared of her friends than guy who wants to eat her?? Well damn kinda felt bad for her
He would let y/n leave hause, but because he doenst want her to call police, he'll probably just yeet her in basement untill he figures out what to do with her (dont worry shes not next dinner, he will try to convince Luda to keep you. 🥺I got this cute little fella in my basement can I keep her🥺)

Chapter 4- Being Different Ain’t a Bad Thing
Kori hopped around Kakariko with Rela leading the way. It was morning and Kori was excited to explore the village. Though he’d been there several times, there was always something new going on, particularly the clothes shop that just opened. The rest of the group dispersed, Beth and Colin were with Talo while they waited for Luda to get done with whatever she was doing, Malo was checking on his shop that had apparently been open for years, and his father and grandpa were looking for Renado. Kori wanted to talk to Renado and Luda, being some of his favorite people outside of Ordon, but since they were busy, Kori and Rela decided to check the stores. Despite Rela’s protests, he headed straight to the clothes store.
The sun in Kakariko was always strong, and it agitated Kori, so he was glad to be in some shade as he reached the door to the shop. But when he went to open it, it was locked. He frowned, trying a couple more times, but finally stopped. He looked at Rela who had her brows pinched in confusion as well.
“Maybe they’re still setting things up?” Rela suggested, and Kori shrugged.
“Maybe it’s too early in the morning for them,” he also suggested.
“Actually, no one’s here.”
The two kids looked up at Barnes who stared at the locked shop with a concerned look. Kori frowned and tilted his head.
“What do you mean?”
Barnes crossed his arms and pursed his lips. “The owner of this shop, Beverly I think her name was, isn’t here.”
“Where is she?”
“I dunno, she went to visit her parents in castle town and never came back.”
Rela gasped. “Why didn’t she come back? Is she ok?”
“I wish I knew. She apparently never showed up at castle town, her parents sent a letter to Renado askin’ about her. Some folks tried lookin’ for her in the field, but not even her carriage and horse were spotted. It’s almost as if she disappeared without a trace.”
Kori felt a chill go up his spine and he whimpered a bit. That was scary, that she left and never came back, just when she opened up her shop too!
“There’s somethin’ out in Hyrule field,” Barnes continued, staring at the entrance of Kakariko. “There’s been disappearances all throughout Hyrule, a few days after this lady disappeared, a Goron left for Zora’s domain and also never returned. Somethin’ is causin’ this, but what it is, I don’t know.”
Kori looked at Rela worried, who surprisingly didn’t look scared.
“It’s probably a bunch of monsters making a mess of things!!” She said, crossing her arms and resting her weight on one leg. “They’re probably bokoblins, I could wack them upside the head and save everyone!”
Barnes chuckled, and the two started chatting about it while Kori still stared at the entrance with unease. Was there really a monster out there taking people? His father didn’t seem too worried when they traveled here, running as fast as Epona could and splashing in water, but maybe he didn’t know about any of this.
He walked closer to the entrance so that he could see Hyrule field. There didn’t seem to be anything dangerous out there, but he felt unsettled at the thought of something hiding, waiting to grab him any second. He stared at the rocks around him and whimpered, backing up so he was around people. He didn’t want to get taken by a monster.
He spun around and walked quickly towards the village, staring at the ground until he bumped into someone. A woman spun around and glared at Kori, but then she took a step back, holding her basket of clothes protectively.
“Good goddesses!” She exclaimed, backing away from. “Get away from me you… you fiend!”
Kori looked around, shaking from fear now. Was she talking to him?
“I—I’m sorry—“
“Get away from me!” She yelled again, swatting her hand around violently, causing Kori to jump back, tears forming in his eyes.
“Hey! What’s your deal?”
Kori looked to see Barnes and Rela walking towards them, both looking upset.
“What’s my deal? This thing here just attacked me!”
Kori looked at her in shock. “I— I didn’t—“
Barnes stepped in front of Kori, blocking his vision. “Let’s get one thing straight, Kori is not a thing, he’s a little boy! And he didn’t attack you! I saw, he just bumped into you! I will not tolerate that type of language towards him!”
The woman scoffed, leaning over to see Kori, but Barnes moved so her vision was still blocked.
“Hey lady!” Rela started, “why don’t you just mind your own business and leave him alone!”
“Well he ran into me! I at least expect an apology!”
Kori stared hard at the ground, trying to control his emotions.
“I—I did— I did apologize,” he said quietly.
“Excuse me? Are you sassing me now?” She shrieked, causing Kori to flinch. He didn’t look at her though, he was too scared. “Look at me when I’m talking to you! If you want to be a human so bad, act like it, you freak!”
“That’s enough!” Barnes yelled, leading her away from him. “You, go continue on with your business!”
She huffed and looked back at the group. “If you keep letting creatures like him in here, more people will disappear! It’s only a matter of time!”
“Kori has been comin’ here longer than you have, I think I’ll take my chances,” Barnes said coolly, and the woman stormed off, almost ramming into Renado who looked concerned. He looked at Barnes, then at Kori, and from behind him, his grandpa and father emerged, and Kori couldn’t stop the tears from falling. He jogged over to his father and buried his face in legs.
“Oh Kori,” his father said softly, rubbing his back as he cried. He heard Rela storm past them and yell out a cuss word at the woman, being pulled back by Rusl.
“Thank you for handling that Barnes,” Renado said, and the man waved the thanks away.
“No one messes with the Ordon kids. Not on my watch anyways.”
Kori turned and looked at Barnes.
“T-thank you,” he mumbled, and Barnes ruffled his hair.
“You take care of yourself Kori. I’m gonna go back to my shop, but you folks let me know if you need anythin’. If ya want, I can give you one of my new types of bombs.”
Kori looked at his father who had both a small smile and an annoyed look on his face.
“Right, not old enough for bombs. Well, my shop is open so stop by if you need anythin’.”
“Of course, Barnes, thank you,” his father said.
“Happy birthday Kori,” Barnes muttered before walking away.
Renado watched him for a moment, then looked back at Kori, giving him a sad smile.
“I’m sorry that happened, Kori. There’s been some newcomers and… well… they’re not used to people who are different.”
Kori looked down, then walked over to Renado, giving him a hug. The man chuckled and rubbed his head.
“Do you want to go to the sanctuary? Luda is there and I’m sure she’d love to see you.”
Kori sniffed and nodded, clinging onto Renado as he walked to the sanctuary, with his father following closely behind.
He heard his dad and grandpa talking quietly, but there was a hint of anger in their voices. Rela walked on his other side, her hand resting on his back. He felt relieved when they got close to the sanctuary, glad to be out of the sun and away from strangers. They quickly headed inside, and the smell of cinnamon filled the air. There seemed to be one patient lying on a cot sleeping, but Luda, Beth, Colin, and Talo were all huddled in a corner on the opposite side. They all smiled when they entered, but they picked up on the tense energy, and Talo was at Kori’s side in seconds.
“What’s with the puffy eyes, kiddo?” He asked, and Kori shrugged silently.
“Oh, sweetheart, what’s wrong?” Luda came up behind Talo.
“Um, I…” with all eyes on him, he shrunk back, and Renado nudged him towards them.
“Rela, go sit down with Kori,” he said, giving the others a look. As Kori sat down, he heard Renado explaining the situation to the others, and he just stared at the wall. His father sat on the other side from Rela, and he rubbed his back, which felt nice from what happened before.
The woman’s yelling wouldn’t leave his mind, her raised voice, her red face, the things she said, it all reminded Kori too much of Sera and Jaggle. He was no stranger to that type of behavior towards him, but it still hurt. Everyone came by where he was sitting after the quick explanation, giving him small hugs and words of affirmation.
“That sounded like Vanessa, she’s kind of a grump,” Luda said, giving him a tight squeeze.
“Oh I can think of a different word for her,” Talo grumbled, and Luda gave him a look.
“Not in front of the kids, Tal.”
Link chuckled and gave Kori a kiss on the head. “A big meanie is more like it.”
Kori gave a small smile. “She was a big meanie.”
Everyone chuckled.
“You know the things she said to you aren’t true, right?” Rela said in a soft and caring voice.
“Oh… yeah, yeah,” Kori said quickly, but her stare got more firm.
“Rela’s right, Kori,” his grandpa knelt in front of him. “You’re not a fiend, or a thing, or whatever she called you. You are Kori, a sweet kid who just turned ten and loves animals and soup!”
Kori smiled slightly, feeling his cheeks go warm from the attention. His father gave him a big squeeze.
“You’re my son, Kori. You always will be.”
“Yeah! I’m proud to have you as my nephew!” Rela cheered.
“Me too!” Colin said.
“And I’m proud to have you as my grandson,” his grandpa smiled.
“And I’m proud to have you as my favorite little guy!” Talo exclaimed, and the others agreed.
“They just don’t know you like we do, and we know that you’re amazing, Kori,” Luda reassured. Kori lowered his head, his face growing more and more warm. The group all huddled around him, giving him hugs and talking about how amazing he was.
“Oy.”
The group stopped their love-bombing and looked at the patient on the other side of the room.
“Don’t let that lady get you down, little man,” he said, pointing his finger at him.
Kori giggled and rubbed the back of his head.
“Thank you.”
“No problem. Now, if you don’t mind, it’s a little loud in here and I’m trying to listen to Miss Luda’s instructions and sleep.”
“Oh!” Luda stood up and bowed. “Apologies, we’ll quiet down for you.”
The man waved her apology away and closed his eyes.
“We weren’t going to stay anyways,” Renado said, giving Kori’s father and grandfather a look. They both nodded and stood up.
“Woah, where are y’all going?” Talo asked.
“Boring adult stuff,” Rusl joked, “it’ll bore you to tears.”
“Uh, I am an adult. We’re all adults, except for Kori and Rela and Malo. Speaking of which, where is Malo?”
Rusl shrugged. “I never know where that kid is. Anyways, we’re gonna do top secret boring super adult stuff, so you kids have fun.”
Everyone waved and Kori’s father gave him a kiss on the head. “We’ll hang out tomorrow, ok? I love you son.”
“I love you too papa.”
He smiled and ruffled his hair, leaving the sanctuary with his grandpa and Renado. When they left, Talo sighed.
“Well, what do we do now?”
“We could look at the shops,” Beth suggested, “that’s why we’re here anyways.”
Kori looked down, he didn’t want to be out there, especially with that lady there. Even if it meant looking at the shops.
“Do you want to do that Kori?” Colin asked, picking up on his hesitation.
“I—I don’t… I don’t know.”
“Let’s go to the hot spring!” Rela shouted, causing Luda to shoot her a glare.
“That sounds like a great idea,” Luda said more quietly, gesturing to the sleeping patient. “That oughta help us relax!”
Kori looked down again, staring at his clasped hands.
“What is it, Kori?” His uncle asked.
“I don’t wanna see that lady again,” he mumbled.
“Don’t worry, Kori! I’ll protect you!” Talo said enthusiastically. “With me by your side, you’ll never feel unsafe again! I’ll give all your enemies a wham! And a pow! And a whack!”
Kori giggled as Talo pretended to be fighting someone, dramatically acting out being punched. Colin joined the pretend battle, both giving dramatic wails as one fell and acted as if he was hurt. Beth sat down next to Kori and rested her hand on his shoulder.
“We got your back, Kori,” she assured, and Kori smiled.
“Thank you. I’m… I’m glad you’re my friends,” he said, staring at his wringing hands.
“Aww,” Talo smiled at him and gestured to the door with his head. “Shall we find my dumb brother and hang out at the hot springs then?”
Kori smiled and nodded.
“Then let’s go!” Talo shouted, causing Luda to scold him, and the group laughed as they all clambered to the door, excited to relax in the hot spring.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was dark inside the abandoned clothing shop, and dust caused Rusl to cough slightly.
“Goddesses, how long had she been gone?” He asked, waving the dust away from his face.
“A little over a week. I knew she was going to be gone for a while, so her not being here for a couple of days didn’t concern me,” Renado looked around, a worried expression on his face, “but the letter from her parents did.” He sighed sadly, staring at all the clothes left on dummies and table tops. “She was going to officially open it two days ago, everyone’s been looking forward to it.”
Rusl looked sadly at the store. It was a cute little shop, with purple walls and colorful fabrics all over it. Clearly she worked hard at achieving this dream, and it made Rusl want to find her even faster. Renado let out a sigh and turned to the two men.
“I suppose I’ll leave you two be, I’ll be sure to report whatever you find to Sheik, I know how much he likes things written down,” he said, heading to the door. “Do let me know if you need anything.”
Rusl smiled and nodded at his old friend. He shut the door gently, and Rusl turned to his son, who was fiddling with what he called a shadow crystal. Apparently it was how he was able to turn into a wolf, despite twilight no longer existing in Hyrule.
“Alright, go crazy,” he said, and Link unwrapped it, darkness encasing him as he went on all fours. Rusl took a step back, watching him with awe. He rarely saw him as a wolf, but the fact that he was able to do it was incredible to him. Link sniffed around the store, occasionally knocking over a box or two, and Rusl groaned. “Hey, try not to make a mess, alright?”
Link gave Rusl a look, and he almost snorted. The expressions he had as a wolf were admittedly hilarious. Link sniffed around for a while until he concentrated on a spot, and he jumped, looking around frantically.
“What is it? Did you find her scent?”
Link made a noise which Rusl assumed was “yes”, and he jumped onto a table pushing a window open.
“Woah, woah Link, what are you doing?” He ran over to his son who was sticking his head out the window. “People are gonna see you! Can’t you just turn back into a human and then go hunting for her?”
Link gave him a look and he jumped out the window, hanging onto a windowsill and climbing onto the roof. Rusl groaned and followed him.
Link stayed near the rocky walls surrounding the village, being careful as to not be spotted, meanwhile Rusl did everything he could to block everyone’s view from his son. Luckily no one seemed to notice the man and the wolf on top of the roof, all except Renado and Barnes who looked at them weirdly. Rusl forced a smile and waved at the two casually, then returned to his investigation. When they reached the end, Link hopped down and hid behind the house, looking for an opening to run to the entrance. Rusl hopped down behind him, and Link was already sprinting towards the entrance.
“Link!” He hissed after him, but he was hidden behind the rocky walls. Rusl groaned and jogged where he went. He was patiently waiting for Rusl behind a rock, and when he took off running again, Rusl wished he grabbed his horse. They were running across the big field where bulblins used to roam, and Link was traveling on the path to Hyrule castle, but he stopped abruptly past a pond, right before the bridge to Castle Town. He sniffed for a moment, then turned and ran for the Bridge of Eldin.
“Ah, Link,” Rusl panted, catching his breath before running after him. As he ran, the field looked normal for there being so many disappearances. There weren’t any scuff marks, any signs of struggles, and no debris and lost belongings. But the new path Link was taking was strange. If she was heading to Castle Town, then why was her scent taking them to the Bridge of Eldin? The two crossed the bridge to Rusl’s surprise, Link turning sharply when they reached the end, but when Rusl caught up to him, he was sniffing around frantically, spinning around and eyeing the field in front of him. Rusl frowned at his reaction. They were near a cliff side, tucked away behind the bridge, but there was nothing here. He got a sinking feeling as Link sat down, letting out a huff.
“Link? What is it?”
His son was surrounded by darkness, and his Hylian form started to stand up, his face twisted in confusion.
“The scent ends here.”
Rusl frowned. “What do you mean?”
“Like, it ends here. It doesn’t continue.”
Rusl looked down, dread resting in his stomach. “Is she… is she dead?”
Link shrugged. “I don’t know. If she was, I would've still been able to smell her.”
“I’m confused.”
Link let out a frustrated sigh and gestured to the cliff in front of him. “It’s hard to explain, but as a wolf, I can almost see smell, if she was buried under ground, I would’ve been able to see the scent go underground. If she went over the cliff, I would’ve been able to see the scent over the cliff. But that’s not what happened here, the scent just ends. It doesn’t go anywhere. Almost as if she…” Link trailed off, staring at the ground.
“What?”
Link pursed his lips. “Almost as if she doesn’t exist anymore.”
Rusl stood there staring at him, and Link let out a bitter laugh.
“I don’t know, pa. I know this is weird but that’s all I can really explain.”
Rusl sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “Alright, alright. Did you happen to… lose the scent?”
“I mean,” Link huffed, “it doesn’t feel like it. It ends too abruptly.”
Rusl pursed his lips. “Maybe whatever took her hid her scent or something? Is there a new scent?”
“There’s a lot of scents, pa.”
“Ok, maybe you just lost the scent or something, let’s head back and tell Renado what happened before it gets dark, ok?”
Link sighed and nodded, heading towards the bridge.
“And Link?”
His son turned around and looked at Rusl intently.
“Let me get my horse next time? You’re a little too fast for me.”
He grinned and rolled his eyes, turning again towards the bridge and walking to Kakariko, which Rusl was grateful for. He may be well fit and could run well, but age had started to catch up to him, and Kori constantly ramming into his knees certainly didn’t help.
It was almost surreal being in Hyrule field with no monsters looking to attack them. Sure, there were a few, but they kept their distance from the two men as they walked on the trail. He remembered days of constantly shooting and fighting monsters that ambushed him, with it only getting worse with the twilight invasion. But it all slowly went away with time, with peace actually feeling possible to Rusl. Well, almost possible. There was still the missing people situation.
The sun was beginning to set when they came back to Kakariko, and Renado looked relieved when he saw them.
“I was starting to get worried,” he said. “I saw you on the roof and then you were both gone. What happened?”
Rusl gave Link a look who pursed his lips.
“I’m… not sure.”
Renado looked at Rusl confused and he shrugged. “We’ll explain it to you inside. Where’s the kids?”
Renado gestured to the horse stable with his head, and Rusl grinned. “Taking care of the horses huh?”
“They love doing it.”
The two men laughed, and Link stepped up, a more serious look on his face.
“How’s Kori?”
Renado looked at him, then back at the stable. “From what I’ve seen, he’s been having a lot of fun.”
Link smiled slightly, and he headed for the stables where his son was. Rusl stayed back and talked to Renado for a bit, then the large group of kids exited the horse stable. The group all went and got supper, relaxing from what seemed to be an eventful day for the kids. Rusl was grateful for the break, the running across Hyrule field took him out, and before he knew it, he and Link were fast asleep after they ate.
They both woke up early in the morning as everyone else stayed asleep, and Link gave him a teasing smile.
“Did all that running tire you out, old man?”
“Oh hush up, it got to you too.”
“Not as bad as you,” Link sighed and stared at the ceiling. “We’ll just have more running today.”
“No, you will have more running. I’ll be on my horse.”
Link grinned and got up, staring at his sleeping son with love in his eyes. He stooped down and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
“You have a good day, Kori,” he whispered, and got his boots on. “We should beat the crowd if we leave right now.”
Rusl gave him a nod and got ready himself. The sky was a beautiful lavender color when they started climbing death mountain, turning darker from the smoke the volcano emitted. The climb up the mountain was anything but pleasant, but he was relieved when they found the chief by the hot springs, not having to climb anymore. Link spoke to him about the missing Goron, and after being given an item, they took off once again.
Unfortunately, their investigation of the missing Goron ended the same as the missing woman. Link would turn into a wolf, smell the scent off an item, then take a path that made sense to Rusl. They were on their way to Zora’s domain (thankfully Rusl had his horse this time around) and then the path once again took a strange turn away from the destination, and then the scent ended, according to Link. It all became more and more baffling to Rusl, and it began to freak him out just a bit. But he still tried to make sense of it. Though Link’s wolf abilities were incredible, they weren’t perfect, and there was a good chance that he simply lost the scent, or it was replaced. That had to be it.
After heading back to Kakariko and explaining the situation to the Goron chief and Renado, they decided to finally rest and spend the rest of the day with the kids. Kori grew impatient and wanted to go to the toy store to finally get his gift, and Link happily obliged. But Rusl couldn’t help but notice Kori’s gaze on the clothes shop, a somber look on his face.
“So where did you and Link go?” Colin asked while Link and Kori headed inside, leaving the rest to loiter outside.
“Oh, we uh…” Rusl got close and kept his voice low. “There’s been some disappearances and the resistance is trying to look for clues.”
Colin’s eyes widened and he nodded. Not many people knew about the resistance, but Colin was one of the few who knew. Being his own son, Rusl trusted him with such a secret.
“Did you… find anything?” Colin asked after a moment of silence, worry apparent on his face.
“No, we didn’t find anything. No tracks, no lost items, nothing. Even Link’s wolf senses couldn’t find anything.”
Colin frowned and glanced at Rela, who was sneaking up behind a cuccoo.
“Try to keep this to yourself, I don’t want to scare anyone,” Rusl said, and Colin snorted.
“Well Barnes told Rela and Colin about the disappearances so…”
Rusl scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Of course he did.”
Colin smiled and chuckled a little. “He doesn’t think about that type of stuff. But don’t worry, the secret is safe with me.”
Rusl smiled and gave him a little squeeze. “I know it is.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Link watched as Kori looked around the shop, the shopkeepers watching him with pleasant looks in their eyes. They were a couple, relatively new to Kakariko, but they’ve seen Kori enough times to grow fond of him.
“What’s the occasion?” The woman behind the counter asked as Kori excitedly looked at the new line of toys.
“It was his birthday a couple of days ago,” Link said, ruffling his hair as he eyed toy soldiers. “He gets a new gift for making it to ten years!”
“Oh my!” The man who was her husband exclaimed, setting down a crate of toys next to an empty shelf. “That’s a big deal!”
“Well happy birthday young one,” the one behind the counter said with a smile. “Why don’t we give you a thirty percent discount just for that!”
Link looked at her in shock. “Oh you— you don’t have to do that!”
“No, we insist! It’s a special occasion!” Her husband said excitedly. “You’re always so well behaved anyways!”
Kori glanced at Link, excitement apparent on his face, but not quite understanding what a discount was. Link smiled and looked at the two shopkeepers.
“Y’all are awfully sweet, thank you.”
The two grinned at him as Kori gently played with the different toys. He made small talk with the two shopkeepers until Kori finally ran up to Link, clutching a cat stuffed animal in his arms, a big toothy grin on his face.
“A stuffed animal? You already have Billy the Goat!” Link said lightheartedly, and Kori frowned.
“But… he needs a friend!”
“Don’t you want a different type of toy? A toy Gramma can’t make on her own?”
“But, but I want Jasper!” Kori cried.
“Jasper?”
“Jasper the cat!”
Link, stared at him for a moment, then let out a hearty laugh. “Oh, alright, but only since you already named it.”
Kori squealed with glee and hugged Jasper as Link paid for the new toy. He once again thanked the kind shopkeepers and they started to head to the door.
“Is that a good enough toy for the big ten years?” He asked as he rested his hand on the handle, and Kori’s gaze turned blank.
“Well, I think I want one more thing,” he muttered, hugging the cat plushie to his chest. Link tilted his head.
“What could that be?”
Kori pursed his lips and glanced at the wall, a worried look on his face. “I want the missing people to come back home, like that lady who owns the clothing shop. I want her home safely.”
Link’s eyes widened, his concern and desire for such a thing at his age shocking him. He smiled and ruffled his hair. “Is it ‘cause you want the stuff from her store?” He teased slightly, and Kori looked up at him.
“No! I’m just… if I was her family, I would be sad that she’s gone. If you or mommy disappeared… I’d be really sad, and scared.”
Link’s teasing manner dropped immediately, and he pulled him close.
“Oh Kori,” He muttered, “you sweet thing.” He hugged him for a moment, frowning at the wall. “I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do that Kori… But I’ll do my best.”
Kori pouted slightly and buried his face in Link’s leg, and the two left the shop with the new birthday present in his arms.

The final chapter of The Truth Comes to Light is up!
The secrets of the shadows are revealed, and the truth comes to light.
Thanks again @skyloftian-nutcase for letting me do this! It's been a great experience and I've had a lot of fun putting Link through all the emotions exploring Link's pov
Read on ao3
Father and son spent the rest of the evening talking about their adventures. Midna's absence still hurt, so Link danced around her involvement as best he could, stating only that she was a Twili and they’d become very good friends, but the support his father leant him made him wonder if the older man might have understood.
Link did elaborate on the teachings of the Hero's Shade, and shared a few of the other details his father asked about, where he’d gone, who’d he met, monsters he’d had to face, all in the interest of rebuilding trust and deepening understanding. It was interesting to receive pieces of his father's journeys in return.
After dinner they’d gone to the hot springs above the inn to wash away the trail dust and bad memories and just relax. Night had truly fallen by then, and in the comfortable warmth of the springs Link found himself drifting back to sleep.
----------
When morning came, Link woke from a blissful sleep, noticing with no small relief that last night’s soak in the hot springs had removed not only all the tension in his body, but also all traces of the wound in his stomach.
Sighing happily, he made his way downstairs and out the inn door, glancing around the village, squinting at the bright morning light. When he saw his father leading Epona, a grin split his face and he ran to them, greeting Epona with a cheerful “good morning,” lovingly rubbing her nose.
His father smiled at him fondly as he fussed over his mare. “There’s breakfast for you in the wagon. We should be home by lunchtime.”
Link nodded and, while his father hitched Epona to the wagon, made his goodbyes to Renado and Luda, thanking them for their help and hospitality.
Taking a deep breath, he climbed to the front of the wagon, commandeering half of the driver's seat to be closer to his horse, since he couldn’t ride her like he wanted. His father chuckled but made no move to shift him, instead climbing up next to him and handing him breakfast. The pair waved their goodbyes to the villagers and started down the path to Ordon.
Link managed to stay awake for about an hour after he finished his food, but the good food and gentle cadence of Epona's hooves were soothing to his tired body, and he jerked awake as his father wrapped an arm around his shoulders to stop him tumbling from the seat.
His father smiled at him. “Go lie down in the back, Link.” The words were gentle, but he heard the order within.
Pouting slightly, but knowing he’d be more comfortable and sheltered there, Link obeyed. Reaching the back, he made a nest in the piles of blankets and buried himself within, drifting off to sleep in minutes.
----------
A loud neigh and the hard shudder of the wagon coming to a stop woke Link, and he blinked rapidly, trying to clear away the sleepy fog from his mind. His attention snapped to the front of the wagon as his father yelled, and Link heard the telltale thunk of an arrow hitting wood.
He sprang to the front of the wagon and took in the situation with a single glance: three bulbins dead, his father's attention on some guay flying above, and a bokoblin sword swinging towards his father's throat – NO!
Link began his assault even as his hand easily found the shadow crystal hanging from his neck, turning into the wolf mid-jump, snarling as he tackled the bokoblin swordsman off the wagon and onto the dusty path. The easy focus of battle filled his senses as he pinned it to the ground. The bokoblin squealed as his teeth met in its shoulder, and Link growled protectively as the taste of hot iron flooded his mouth. Something inhuman moved behind him and he turned, pouncing on a second bokoblin swordsman, claws extended. The skin of its bare chest shredded easily under his sharp claws, leaving deep, red gouges, rendering it dead even as he used its body as a springboard to return to the first bokoblin. He caught its throat in his jaws and tore, crushing the life from the monster.
Link huffed as he scanned for additional threats, the battle-focus subsiding when no other monsters appeared. He turned his attention to the wagon, intent on making sure his father was okay.
He did not expect the arrowhead pointed directly between his eyes, nor the look of horror on his father’s face.
For a moment, his own terror from the last few days threatened to drown him, and Link shrunk, cowering in fearful submission, ears pressed close to his head. He only marginally relaxed as his father released the tension on the arrow, dropping the weapons like they’d burned him. He watched the man stumble from the wagon seat, landing heavily on his knees.
His father extended a hand to him, like he would if Epona was riled up. “Link… Link it’s… are you okay?”
Link's heart still pounded, but he knew his father would be even more frightened if he responded while still a wolf, so he breathed a shaky exhale, releasing the Twili magic at the same time. When the shadows cleared he remained crouched on the path, hyper-aware of the blood coating his hands, face, and chest.
Link flinched as his father lurched forward before catching himself. His more sensitive ears allowed him to hear his father’s muttered “Spirits. You…certainly do make a mess in that form,” and he swallowed, still tense, still waiting for judgement, or harsh words, or anything.
When his father stood, turning back to the wagon without a word, Link allowed himself a few shaky breaths as he tried to relax. They’d talked about his ability to transform last night, but with everything that had happened between the two men it was hard for both of them to see and be seen as the wolf.
Link looked at the dissipating bodies of the bokoblins, all but desensitized to the smell and taste of their blood, and realized his father's horror was to how they’d been killed, not to him. He’d all but forgotten how he felt the first thousand times he’d had to attack and kill monsters as a wolf, but he recalled feeling a lot like his father had looked.
His father’s approach startled Link out of his thoughts, and he swayed away minutely, hopefully catching himself before his father could notice. He saw the damp cloth in his father's hands as the older man crouched in front of him, then gentle hands reached for his face and neck, tenderly cleaning away the blood.
“Thank you for saving me.”
The words came as a shock, and Link couldn’t help the tears that flooded his eyes, threatening to spill. All he could do was nod in acknowledgement, clearing his throat and desperately blinking the tears away. He continued to hold still, silently basking in his father’s ministrations, reminded of that same tender touch on skinned knees and elbows as he was growing up.
A few aborted attempts at speech drew his attention back to the present. “Does…” his father asked, “does it hurt?”
Link knew he wasn’t talking about the cloth or the blood on his face, but the transformation. It was something he’d glossed over when they were talking last night, but his father deserved to know. He immediately shook his head. “Not like it used to. I’m okay, Pa.”
Link watched some emotion ignite behind his father’s eyes, but couldn’t decipher it before his father turned his attention to the water flask at his side, pouring some more water on the cloth to begin cleaning off his hands. Link continued to watch his father, apprehension bleeding into comfort as the older man began to knead the tension out of his hands.
It returned full force when his father gently stroked the thick band of scarred tissue around his left wrist, a physical reminder permanently etched on his body of the chain and shackle he still wore as a wolf. “When we get back, we’ll get that chain off you.”
Link stared at his father, horrified. “We—you—you want me to turn into a wolf in the village?! No, no—”
Link barely registered the bloodied cloth falling to the ground as his father hastily grabbed his shoulders. “Link, Link, relax,” I can't! “I meant at home, not outside.”
“B-but—Colin and Ma—”
“Uli already knows.”
Link felt the blood drain from his face, panic racing though every nerve. He knew the words were meant to be reassuring, but he couldn’t forget his mother's reactions that first night in Ordon. Tears involuntarily filled his eyes as he tried to stammer out a coherent sentence. “She—she—” She was his comfort, his rock, what if she hated him now, too? He couldn’t bear it.
“Link,” his father’s firm voice pulled him from his spiraling thoughts. “It’s okay. She was worried about you. She doesn’t think you’re a monster any more than I do, I promise you. It’s going to be okay.”
Link looked down blankly, hiding in his hair, desperately fighting for composure. He felt hands under his elbows, and he let himself be lifted to his feet. His daze was finally broken as Epona nickered at them, nibbling at his hair, and he smiled at her wordless support. During his adventure he’d howl for her, whenever he was missing a touch of home, and they would just talk for a while. It always brought peace to his heart, and he was grateful for her help.
Link couldn’t help the tension that grew within as they traveled through Faron woods. So much of his adventure had taken place here: the wall of Twilight, restoring the Light Spirit, multiple dungeons, learning from the Hero's Shade, navigating the Lost Woods…running from his father…he could barely imagine what it would feel like to have more people know about his other form, never mind have them accept him despite it.
Sometime during the trip through the woods, Link's father pulled him gently into his shoulder, and despite his whirling thoughts and worries Link almost managed to doze off again. He woke from his half-sleep with bleary eyes when the wagon stopped, and he glanced around, trying to place where they were.
When he recognized his tree house he was suddenly wide awake, stiff with fear and anxiety. He looked at his father, hoping to put off talking with the rest of his family, hoping for more time to prepare, for anything, but his father only smiled.
“It’s going to be okay, Link. Help me grab some things and we’ll head to the house.”
…Link never could resist a plea for help.
Sighing, he hopped off the wagon seat and made his way to the back, gathering up their things while his father unhitched Epona. Once his father finished, he took some of the things from Link's arms, they said goodbye to Epona, then started the long walk to the village proper.
Link couldn’t remember what state he’d left the village in, or even if anybody else knew, so the stares he got from a few of the villagers unnerved him. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Ilia try to make a move towards them, but the mayor pulled his daughter's attention back to their conversation, and they continued unhindered.
Link stayed back a bit while his father opened the door, hoping against hope that nobody else was home. He saw his mother knitting on the couch and Colin playing with Hana, and apprehension knotted in his belly.
His mother looked up and caught Link’s eye, then suddenly she was careening into his arms, pulling him into a tight hug. “Link!” she gasped in relief, “Oh, honey, I’m so glad you’re okay!”
Link couldn’t form an answer around the lump in his throat. All he could do was let himself be held, clinging to her almost as if his life depended on it. This could be the last hug I get from her... Distantly he heard Colin ask a question and his father answer, but he was lost in the warmth of his mother's embrace.
His mother sniffled and somehow held him tighter, whispering, “I was so worried, Link. When your father left with you, I…” She left off the thought, fighting for composure. She leaned back just a bit, taking his face in her hands, wiping at the tears he only just barely realized were falling. “I love you, Link. So much.” She kissed his cheek, gazing deep into his eyes, and reaffirmed what his father had already told him. “I love you, no matter who or what you are. You are my son, and that will never change.”
Link tried to hold back his sobs, trembling in his mother's embrace, shocked and amazed and relieved that his worst fears weren’t true. His lip wobbled as he fought past the lump in his throat, the pressure fleeing just enough he was able to whisper back, “Thank you, Ma. Thank you.”
Colin wandered over, then, from where their father had led him, a worried crease in his brow. “Link? Are you okay? Why are you crying?”
Link took a deep breath and swallowed to remove the last of the lump in his throat. Sniffling, he rubbed at his nose with the back of his hand, then laughed just a bit at his mother's affectionate scoff as she left to retrieve a handkerchief. He pulled his brother into a tight hug, making him giggle. “I just missed Ma is all. And you too.” He let his mother clean his face with the handkerchief and smiled as she kissed his nose.
The smile fell from his face as his father approached, carrying Hana. “Now, it’s time we take care of that issue with your wrist, Link.”
Link's breath hitched as he looked into the happy, carefree eyes of his brother and the open, relieved eyes of his mother. He turned his own pleading eyes back to his father's. “Pa, I—it’s okay, really it is.”
“What’s wrong with Link’s wrist?” Colin asked. Link shivered as his mother took his hands and began to examine them, dreading the revelation. Colin saw the mark first. “Link, you’re hurt!”
Anxiety filled Link's stomach as the boy ran to the cabinet of first aid supplies, only to find nothing there. “All the bandages are gone!” he grumbled before tearing off to locate more medical supplies. Link saw his parent’s exchange a glance out of the corner of his eye.
For all his status as a hero, this was scaring him almost more than Ganon had, and Link shook his head. “Please, please it’s okay, I promise it’s okay.”
“Honey, what is it?” his mother asked softly.
“It’s his wolf form,” his father explained. “There’s a chain on his arm—his leg—his—”
Temporary amusement filled Link's heart as he watched his father struggle for the terminology, remembering how long it took him to get it straight. Shade had to help him figure everything out, in the end.
Finally, his father gave up with a sigh, opting to lift Link's wrist instead. “Here.”
“But only when he’s a… a wolf?” his mother asked, bemused.
Link interrupted, desperately wanting out of this situation. “But it’s okay, I promise." Things were quickly running away from his control, and it frightened him.
“Link, it’s scarring you.”
“Pa, I—”
“Sweetie, we don’t want you to get hurt every time you go into that form. Do you transform a lot? That mark looks like it hurts.”
“Ma—”
“Son, don’t argue. We’re getting rid of it.”
Before he could plead his case any more, Colin burst back into the room. “I found some more supplies! Don’t worry, Link, I’ll fix you up. Luda and Renado taught me some things in Kakariko.”
Link opened his mouth, but his father cut him off before he could make a sound. “Colin, you can look over his wrist once we get the band off that’s causing the problem. Best have those supplies ready, then. In the meantime, go grab my blacksmith tools, will you? They’re in the bedroom, I have them all in the box – remember where it is?”
Colin looked confused, but nodded and ran off again. Link turned, silently pleading with his parents, but they held firm. “We’re a family, Link,” his father stated. “He should know as well. The rest of the village doesn’t have to, but Colin should. He’s good at keeping secrets, you know that.”
Link's mother gently reached up and brushed the hair out of his face before playing with the tip of his ear, something she’d done whenever he was anxious for as long as he could remember. “It’ll be okay, sweetheart. We're all here to help and support each other. You're going to be okay.”
Link sighed heavily and hung his head, outnumbered and outmatched. He heard Colin enter the room and hand off the toolbox, then his mother drew him in for another hug and kiss.
“Remember, Link,” she whispered, “we will love you no matter who or what you are.”
Link sighed again, then took a step back. He looked between the eyes of his family, lingering on Colin's the longest. They all held implicit trust and love and a bit of worry, but not an ounce of judgement.
He opened his mouth to speak but froze, closing it again. He’d never thought about how he’d break the news of his shadow curse to his family. Nothing he could come up with would make it sound any more believable, either. So, I…uhh…can turn into a wolf, ever since I was snatched into another dimension where I shoulda died but became a wolf instead. I was stuck there for a while but I made it out an' then things happened an' I got a crystal to contain the curse so now I can make the change voluntarily… Heart pounding in his chest, he tried to speak again, but words just wouldn’t come, and he could only stand there, spiraling.
Finally, his father – who’d obviously had more time to think about these things – came to his rescue. “Colin, there’s something we need to tell you. During Link’s journey, he was given a gift from the goddesses.”
“A gift?” Colin repeated, intrigued and entranced at the thought.
Link stared at his father, surprised. His ability to shift was certainly useful, he’d told his father as much the night before, but a gift…
Link still stood stunned, and his mother pulled him into another hug, smiling. “Yes, a gift.”
“He’s going to show you now because he has something we need to fix,” Link’s father explained.
Bolstered slightly by his parent's confidence, Link stepped away from his mother, blowing out a measured breath as he did. He closed his eyes as he clutched the shadow crystal hidden under his tunic, crouching down as the magic unfurled around him. When he opened his eyes, he couldn’t hold back a whine at the faces looking down at him. Memories swirled through his mind, and he honestly thought about running.
He heard Colin gasp, saw his father begin to approach, then warm arms were wrapped gently around his neck as his mother fearlessly pulled him into a hug, resting her cheek on the top of his head.
Her movement apparently gave Colin the courage he needed, since the next thing Link knew his brother was standing right in front of his face, rambling excitedly. “Wow! You—can you still understand me? Do you talk too? Is…” Colin reached forward hesitantly and rubbed his hand against Link’s head. “You’re so fuzzy!!”
Link heard his father laugh, and the thick knot of tension in his gut began to unravel as his mother and brother fussed over him, patiently bearing their touch as they traced the pattern in his coat and on his forehead.
Link's father shifted into view directly in front of him, blacksmithing tools in hand. He held out a rough, callused hand, and simply waited.
Link stared at the hand for what felt like an eternity.
The hand that had raised him, that had taught him the ways of the sword, that had lifted and supported him whenever he felt he couldn’t go on.
The hand that had twice lifted a sword against him.
The hand that had literally carried him for two days, that had cleaned the blood from his body and made sure he returned home in one piece...
The hand now offering something he’d thought impossible.
Heart pounding, Link slowly raised his paw, the dangling chain clinking as it always had. Slowly, gently, his father maneuvered the shackle, fiddling with the lock before carefully breaking through the metal.
With a loud thud, both shackle and chain fell to the ground, and Link’s heart nearly stopped as his father gently massaged his paw and leg, reveling in the sensation of something more than cool metal against the tender skin.
Finally, his father put down his tools, smiling. “There. See now, Link? You’re free.”
Overwhelmed, Link let out a small whine – the lupine equivalent of a stifled sob – and felt his ears pin back with emotion. Immediately he was engulfed in a hug, held tightly by those he held most dear. Releasing the Twili magic, he returned to his Hylian form. As he did, he could almost swear he heard an impish whisper. Silly wolf. You’ll always be loved.
His mother and brother hugged him even more tightly once his form settled, and Link buried his face in his father's neck, shaking with emotion. He hesitantly moved his wrist, sobs rising in his throat at the extended, painless range of motion.
He felt a kiss pressed lovingly into his hair, and his father's deep, rumbling voice – well-known and no longer feared – filled Link with peace. “You're free.”

"Beyond everything you've ever known."
This scene takes place where LUDA died.
Why did he never try to tell her about it? I know, because the writers didn't write it. But it makes no sense. Everybody WOULD try to explain.
...
Tamar is so annoying. And she doesn't even look like she belongs to the show, she looks weirdly modern?
...
Plot armor in the interior fight with the shadow monster was incredibly strong...
...
"Let me carry the hatred of this world." - ok, at least SOMETHING. But Alina doesn't get it. Of course.
Why couldn't they make him sympathetic BEFORE his dying scene?
...
Not the meadow again...
...
Sasha is dead for a minute and Alina already used merzost. Notice that he didn't use it to resurrect the woman he loved when he created the Fold. He used it so as to SAVE GRISHA. He used it for others. She used it for herself.
...
"I don't want any heretics to find his body and make a martyr's relic of it"
WHAT? She's such a self-important bitch. He ASKED you to do it. You have to twist everything, don't you?
...
How can Kaz know poetry that Tolya quotes? Do they teach it on the streets of the Barrel?
...
Genya really was reduced to a victim. But is David dead? People killed by the shadow monsters do not disappear. He might be alive. And I hope he is!
...
"You both have every right." What bloody right do Zoya and Genya have to burn Sasha? Burning him is not revenge, it's what he bloody wanted to avoid his body to be misused.
I feel so sad for him. Finally. Finally something made me feel something.
...
Oh no, a speech? Please no.
...
Fjerdans looking at the Fold that is no more. Yay! Now they can enter Ravka from anywhere.
...
Ha! A bee! Ha!
...
Isn't a privateer basically a pirate licensed by the government to capture enemy ships, allowed to keep the spoils in return? Why do they need one?
...
No. Don't spoil Kanej. Taken out of the book context, what Inej says sounds like she only cares about the physical part of love. :-(
...
Mal being Sturmhond is like Dread Pirate Rogers from Princess Bride. 🤣
...
Oh I see, privateer as in "spy". Maybe slaver ship hunter, too? I can accept that!
...
Mal in teal frock! 🙃
...
Ah, yes. Slaver ship hunter. I do like that!
...
How can King of Ravka give pardon to a Kerch prisoner?
Except it didn't work anyway.
...
The Apparat!
...
Sobachka is a monster, as expected. :-(
...
Alina *so* doesn't deserve Nikolai.
...
Enter Zoya and Genya, the new nobility as it seems. Including shallow conversations. Oh wow, a refuge. That has been done before, hasn't it? Oh, but that doesn't count. It was evil when Sasha did it. At a much higher risk.
Doing away with coloured keftas is important, yes.
So Shu Han is suddenly just "estranged"?
WHAT DRUGS DID THE WRITERS TAKE?
...
Triumvirate indeed.
...
Isn't the Lantsov banner light blue? But maybe it's just a coronation thing.
...
Jurda parem.
Impressively gory.
Alina, that was some smirk. Not walking the same path as Sasha? Just look at your face.
A great ending. Too bad so much of the show was meh.

https://www.tumblr.com/lemonhemlock/712088137148628992/never-seen-a-fandom-more-allergic-to-non-canon?source=share
here are some non-canon ships from the shadow and bone fandom I know of:
darkolai (darkling x nikolai)
zoyalina (zoya x alina)
kazolai (kaz x nikolai)
darklinalai? (darkling x alina x nikolai)
malolai (mal x nikolai)
malling? (mal x darkling)
ludasander (luda x darkling)
kazling (kaz x darkling)
nikolina (nikolai x alina)
Just want you to know none of these ships are very big in the fandom and don't have a lot of content to them like the canon ships do. The s&b fandom really doesn't explore the non-canon ships so again not much content but if you are interested in any of these ships and want some content then go look at ao3 a lot of these ships have a few fics on ao3 and maybe check their tags for some content. :))))
this is a fairly old ask by now but i finally managed to finish shadow & bone last night. nikolai x alina doesn't have any content??? they had ten times more chemistry than malina. mal x nikolai had more chemistry than malina. heck, even darkling x nikolai is a more interesting ship to think about
did not really like this season, it felt so disjointed and pointless. did not really make me feel anything about anything. they finally tore down the fold and i couldn't care less. such an ordinary death for the darkling, like he was some average joe. his relationship with his mother was fairly interesting, but was ultimately unexplored. malina bores me to tears but i do not understand why they broke up, what kind of reason was that even? what the hell happened to nikolai, he has a shadow monster infection now? did alina use merzost to bring mal back to life?
didn't fjerdans hate grisha? how come they sent a grisha to ruin nikolai's coronation then? such a random & undeserved plot twist, with absolutely zero build up. just bad storytelling all around
the crows were okay, but i very much do not care about nina's boyfriend. inej is a sweetheart but kaz is such a loser lmao (affectionate)

SLASHERS WITH AN S/O DOING THEIR EYELINERRRR SPECIFICALLY MICHAEL AUDREY MYERS AND BILLY "RAT IN THE ATTIC" LENZ CAUSE THEY'D LOOK FINE AS HELL IN EYELINER AND AIN'T NO BITCH GON TELL ME OTHERWISEEEE
Couldn’t ignore this anymore! Sooooooo I went ahead and got pictures as well!
Another thing that’ll have a second part eventually!!
Also, how in the FUCK do these people do their eyeliner so well?? The fuck????
Slashers with Eyeliner! PT. 1
PT. 2 Coming Soon
Slashers
TW: Slashers looking FABULOUS with eyeliner that you did! Tommy’s is long, pussy and prostitute are said once
↓Continue under the cut!↓
Michael Myers!
Tilts his head in confusion.
Show him a picture of the one you wanna try on him.
“Please Mikey? You’ll be even more badass while killing, totally disrespect your victims by being a baddie ending their life looking better than they could wish to look!”
He shrugs.
Aka: GO FOR IT!
So what do you do?
Something simple but would make his eyes pop!!
Cause let’s face it
His baby blues?
They are beautiful as fuck
You cannot say I’m wrong!
Your choice:
Tumblr media
~
Jason Voorhees!
Pamela is wary at first
She thinks it’s your way of saying he’s ugly
She tells Jason that’s what she THINKS
So you have to explain that it’s just you having a pure mind and blow them away with a compliment
“I just know that Jay would rock eyeliner and be absolutely adorable and bad ass too, show he’s not an evil monster but an absolute baddie!”
Pamela is sold
Jay takes his mask off and plops you on his lap
Something small and subtle, but suits him as well
What you do:
Tumblr media
~
Norman Bates!
He asks you in a way
He stares at you while you apply your eyeliner
He then asks shyly if you’d make him a “pretty boy”
“Baby, you’re a pretty boy without makeup on.”
“But… I wanna FEEL like a pretty boy…”
How can you refuse him?
You can’t.
So you look on Pinterest for something he would like
He chose:
Tumblr media
~
Brahms Heelshire!
Your eyeliner went missing
If just have been Brahms
Venture into the walls, yousee him trying -and failing- to put on eyeliner.
You would call it cute -and it is tbh- but he’s making a huge mess
Once you confront him his reasoning is kinda funny
“I wanted to try it and see if you’d like me more…”
You take off what he did and do a little wing
He demands you do a design so you do
What you do:
Tumblr media
~
Billy Lenz!
Bro, he is fascinated as fuck by it
You wear it sometimes (or a lot depending on who you are)
And he’s seen others wear it
He wants to try it now
You find your eyeliner missing -Brahms 2.0?-
About an hour later Billy pops up and pokes you.
“D-Did Billy do good? Is… i-is piggy proud?”
You chuckle softly and remove some of the mess on his face
You add a sassy ass wing to make his eyes pop
What you do:
Tumblr media
~
Thomas Hewitt!
He freezes
That question was out of the blue
And in front of the others… oh god he doesn’t know what to do
He’s stuck because he does want to but doesn’t know how everyone else would react
Luda Mae gives you a quizzical look
“What’re you tryin’ to say about Tommy?”
You go to explain a bit but Hoyt cuts you off
“Makeup ain’t gonna fix that train wreck”
Queue Monty and Hoyt laughing
Queue an angry Y/N
They stop laughing the second Luda Mae’s wooden spoon is smacking them both, you being the one who is holding it
“Tommy is handsome WITHOUT makeup and a mask, you both look and smell like the exact thing spewing out your mouth, a prostitute’s crusty ass pussy.”
Tommy flushes and agrees to the eyeliner
So you add some PIZZAZZ to it
You decided to do:
Tumblr media
~
Bo Sinclair!
Hard NO at first
Fuck no
Absolutely not
No way in hell
That’s YOUR thing, not his
Pester him a lot, never ending
Still says no
Pout and start to fake cry OR say that Lester will do it because he’s more of a man than Bo will ever be and he will agree
Do the most simple and tiny thing or else he will get mad
You decided:
Tumblr media
~
Vincent Sinclair!
He will get self conscious at first
Explain it’s for creative purposes
Tell him you just wanna practice
Say you do better in others than yourself and that he is beautiful without it
“I’m not saying you aren’t handsome honey, I just wanna use you as my canvas for my eyeliner because I work best on others than on myself.”
He will eventually agree
You do something bold and extravagant like:
Tumblr media
~
Lester Sinclair!
He will agree right away
Happy to help
Thinks it’s cool and has wanted to do it but was shy to ask
Preppy and happy when you ask
Babe will legit flaunt it
You wanna show him off and use his face to practice makeup?
Do it
Legit just hold up your makeup when he isn’t busy or leaving soon and he will sit down and close his eyes happily
Do anything
You blow Bo and Vin away by doing:
Tumblr media
~
Asa Emory!
Glares at you
Why do you wanna do makeup on him?
That requires taking off the mask
That’s dangerous (my phone autocorrected “dangerous” to danganronpa… wtf????)
Just threaten to do it on someone else and he will agree with a groan
He’s a formal man
So you do something more formal and simple for him
But also you add a little zing
You do:

Hi! Can I request some domestic and fluffy headcanons for Thomas Hewitt with a significant other?
Thanks in advance, lots of love 😘
Yes of course! Thomas is the love of my life, I adore him!
TW: Implied murder, (1) mention of gore, implied NSFW
Domestic And Fluffy Headcanons For Thomas Hewitt And His S/O:
Thomas craves fluffiness and domesticity , let me tell you
Thomas has spent his entire youth being bullied and ridiculed, never having any type of companionship. Even as he got older he has always been under Hoyt’s control, feeling like he never gets to make his own decisions. So when he finally has someone who will care for him and listen to him and love him, he is over the moon!
When Thomas wakes up beside you in the morning he is always in awe of you - you look so peaceful and serene and he still cannot believe that he has someone like you to love and who loves him.
He tries his very best to get out of bed without waking you but Tommy is a big boy so he almost always fails.
He feels so bad every time he wakes you up that he lurches forward to pat you on the shoulders as an apology.
This always makes you giggle though, because how could you be mad at such a sweet boy?
Once you are up and about after Thomas’ slip up, you both get ready for the day together. Thomas tries not to look at you while you’re getting dressed because he doesn’t want to be disrespectful, but sometimes you turn around and catch him looking away from you with a slight blush in his cheeks.
Breakfast is always a rushed occasion because everyone needs to get started on chores as soon as possible, but you and Tommy spend what little time you have in the mornings holding hands underneath the breakfast table while the both of you scramble to finish your fruit.
You don’t see too much of Thomas during the main part of the day because he’s busy down in the basement and you’re busy either in the kitchen or the garden, but you do make it a point to make Tommy a sandwich and some tea for lunch and bring it down to him while he’s working.
Thomas is always very grateful and excited when you do this. He doesn’t like to have you in the basement around all the gore and grime, but seeing you again after so many hours, being so kind as to make him food, he can’t help but be delighted at your presence.
Towards the end of the day, when everyone’s chores are completed, you and Thomas have some time to spend together before dinner is ready.
One of Thomas’ favorite pastimes is to go sit outside with you just as the sun is setting and watch the fireflies light up all around the house while you sit next to him.
He’ll excitedly point out each firefly that lights up just to be sure that you don’t miss it!
These moments often lead to soft kisses and sweet hand holds on the front porch while the sky is painted in pinks and oranges, which makes it extra romantic.
Sometimes though, Thomas likes to go to your shared bedroom to lay down for a bit before supper.
He loves for you to lay down next to him and assume the role of the big spoon while stroking the back of his head because this sweet boy loves to be taken care of.
Sometimes these little half naps can lead to something more intimate. Thomas loves when you kiss down his body, soon reaching the top button of his trousers, where you palm him gently. This heavy petting and wet kisses makes his heart rate go up and his breathing ragged before Luda Mae is calling you down to help set the table.
You groan and place a chaste kiss to Tommy’s cheek before heading down stairs.
As Monty, Hoyt, and Thomas all enter the kitchen to eat dinner together, Thomas admires how domestic you look preparing the table for them. He just thinks you look so cute doing house-wife type things!
The rest of the family never notices how you actively avoid eating the meat of the meal, sticking to the vegetables and side dishes. Thomas notices though. Thomas notices every little thing about you, and this particular thing always makes him feel guilty. He knows this isn’t exactly the life you envisioned for yourself - living in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of murderers who eat other people to survive. Sometimes, Thomas half expects to wake up to see you’ve left him to make a better life for yourself.
He doesn’t think he deserves you, not one bit. He views himself as a big, ugly monster and he can never understand why a beautiful angel such as yourself could ever want to be with him.
You notice him looking down at his hands, recognizing the look of self hatred on his face before letting your hand fall down to his knee and squeezing assuringly. You know Thomas feels this way and you hate it. You fell in love with Thomas wholeheartedly and you adore everything about him. He has always been so kind and gentle and loving and giving. Why can’t he see himself the way you see him?
‘I love you,’ you mouth to him as he looks up at you. He lets his big hands rest atop yours and nods sofly. A silent ‘I love you too,’
Once everyone finishes dinner, you and Thomas head up to bed. After a full day of chores and a large dinner, the two of you are spent.
Bedtime for the two of you is always soft and pillowy. The house is dark and quiet and the only people in your little world are yourself and the man you love.
Thomas falls asleep pretty quickly, whereas it takes a bit for you to slumber.
You always lay on Thomas’ chest, his arms wrapped tightly around you as if he’s afraid you’ll slip away, listening to his even breathing.
No, this is not the life you dreamed of when you were younger. It is so much better than any dream or expectation you might have previously had because laying in the arms of the man who owns your heart every night is more than you could ever ask for.

I dont think ive see smth like this in your blog and im really sorry if im crossing a line, you dont have to do this but if you could, could you do vincent and any other slashers youd like with a unplanned pregnant s/o? Like they werent expecting it, how would they react? Im sorry again if this is too specific and out of your comfort zone!
The Slashers’ and their S/O reacting to an unplanned pregnancy:
Thomas Hewitt
A pregnancy can only be good news to Thomas (unless you know it’s going to put your health at risk).
He noticed that something wasn’t right but you both just thought you were sick. It was Luda May that pulled you to the side, telling you that you might be pregnant.
But you both agreed to not tell Thomas until you had taken a test and were positive, you didn’t want him to freak out over nothing.
When you tell him, you are nervous about his reaction since neither of you had talked about it. Even if Luda May had been hinting about grandchildren.
But as soon as you tell Thomas that you’re having his child, he is overjoyed!
He wants to be a father, to have a little family of his own. So what if it wasn’t planned? That doesn’t matter, he still wants this.
He’s smiling, placing a large hand on your stomach (even though you aren’t showing yet).
If you’re still worried about this unexpected turn of events, he would be there to comfort you and reassure you. Don’t worry, Y/n. He’s going to take good care of you and your child.
Michael Myers
You had every reason to be nervous about telling Michael about your pregnancy. You loved him, you really did, and you knew that he loved you but he wasn’t the most...nurturing person.
You really didn’t know what he would think or how he would react.
Even if you don’t think he’s the monster people think he is, a part of you worries that he’d just leave if he decided this wasn’t what he wanted.
But you had to tell him, he was going to find out eventually anyway.
Just as usual, your announcement is met with stoicism. The emotionless mask doesn’t help either. But this is one of the main reasons he wears the mask, so nobody can guess what he is thinking.
He wonders if you’re scared that they’ll turn out like him. Would you love them anyway, just like you love him?
He decides that he’s not going to be a good father (whether that’s true or not is a possibly debatable) but he also decides that he is staying put.
You’re going to be caring for this child, right?
You do notice that he’s much more gentle with you at all times. Maybe he cares more than he likes to show...
Jason Voorhees
You weren’t all that nervous about telling Jason about the pregnancy, you knew he would be there for you both and you knew he would be a good father.
When you told him, Jason definitely had to sit down. You’re pregnant? You’re both having a child.
This is big news! His mother would be so proud!
After wrapping his head around it, Jason will pull you into an embrace. He’s going to be good for you, Y/n!
He hadn’t thought about starting a family with you until now but he quickly decides that he likes the idea lot. He likes the idea of raising a child with you, of being a father.
And he’s going to do his absolute best to be the best father for his child. He’s excited to be taking this step with you.
Time to babyproof the cabin!
Brahms Heelshire
Brahms had noticed that something was right, he thought that you were sick. You did at first but eventually you realised what might actually be happening. So, you got a pregnancy test in the next delivery.
You didn’t want to say anything to Brahms until you were completely sure.
Turns out, you were pregnant and now you had to tell Brahms.
He’s not too pleased at first...neither of you had talked about this, he hadn’t even thought about having children. He doesn’t like surprises and he doesn’t like that he’s going to have to compete for your attention.
He might even sulk about it but he’ll slowly come around to it.
You’re having his child...you’re going to be parents...together...maybe this isn’t so bad.
He definitely needs some time to warm up to the idea but he will eventually, probably reluctantly apologising for how he acted.
Bo Sinclair
Haha, good joke...
...you are joking right? Right, Y/n?!
Well...okay, he guesses. It’s not like he could do anything about it now.
He’s going to pull away from you slightly at first, because he’s doubting his own capabilities as a father. He isn’t meant to have a partner, he isn’t meant to have a kids, a family, any of this...and yet here you were.
He stop pulling away eventually and make up for it. However, he becomes more attentive, more protective. Is pretty much going to try to turn you into a housewife type of partner.
But it’s not like he’s going to be doing all the chores just because you’re pregnant.
If you’re down for that, great! If not, just tell him to relax. You’re pregnant, not dying.
He’ll ‘deal with it’ but warms up to the idea more and more as the pregnancy progresses.
Vincent Sinclair
Is he surprised and worried about his abilities as a father? Completely.
Is he going to let that get in the way of doing the best he can? Definitely not.
He’s in awe of you. He loves you so much and you love him, you’re going to have his child...
Just places his hands on your stomach even though you’re not showing yet, there is a baby in there, his baby. God, he loves you so much.
He hadn’t thought about children, this definitely wasn’t planned but if he was given the choice to change it, he wouldn’t even consider it.
He going to be pretty anxious about it though. Both for the future and wondering if his child will like him, but also for the present. He’s so worried about you getting hurt, he fusses over you all the time, but it’s sweet.
Lester Sinclair
You told him just after you found out, when he had come home and didn’t have anything else to distract him. You could just sit down and tell him and the two of you could talk about it for as long as you needed too.
Gets a little frantic when you tell him.
First he’s pulling you into a kiss because: this is great news! He’s going to be a dad! And you’re the one having his baby! He couldn’t be more thrilled!
But then he’s holding you at arms length, eyes wide as he asks you if he can do this.
He goes through every emotion in the book in under a minute. Just let him go through it and once he’s calmed down, assure him that he’s going to be a great dad.
Because he will be!!!
Bubba Sawyer
Raising a child in the Sawyer household would be chaotic to say the least and that was probably the main cause of your anxiety, since you knew Bubba would try his absolute best to be an amazing father and to be there for you.
You need to collect yourself before you tell him, because you’re going to need to calm him down and reassure him.
When you tell him, he is going to freak out a little. He’s just worried about what this means, are you going to be okay, is he going to be a good father, this house isn’t safe for a child!
Once you’ve calmed him down, he’ll actually be pretty excited about the idea of having a child.
The two of you will have your own little family!
He’s going to give you lots of hugs and kisses while babbling happily, he loves you so much and can’t wait to have this baby now!
Billy Lenz
You knew this was going to be messy. Billy hadn’t exactly shown many signs of responsibility at all and he doesn’t really seem like the fatherly type. Not that he doesn’t have the love to give, you know he does. Just the idea of him raising a child...it’s not something that either of you considered.
But you were definitely pregnant, it was definitely Billy’s baby, and you were definitely going to have to tell him.
When you do tell him, he panics.
He can’t be a father! What?!
Yeah, he’s really freaking out. You’re going to have to comfort him and calm him down, assuring him that everything is going to be okay.
Billy’s just kind of rolling with punches. He really doesn’t know how he’s going to be a father but he loves you so much, so this is just something you’re going to do together.
He figures that as long as you’re there, he’ll be okay, you’ll make sure that everything is okay.
Asa Emory (The Collector)
Yes, you were nervous to tell him about the pregnancy. You had no idea how he would feel or what he would think.
But, of course you had to tell him before he found out some other way.
You weren’t even surprised when he barely reacted. He was thinking, you knew that, so you gave him a moment. This whole thing was a surprise for both of you.
“I had my suspicions” well, that wasn’t the response you were expecting.
But of course he noticed the little changes in you. Your fatigue, any sickness you had been feeling. He knew the signs, he already suspected that you were pregnant. So, thankfully, it wasn’t a complete surprise to him.
You’ll never know exactly how he felt when he first started suspecting pregnancy but by the time you tell him about it, he’s already come to terms with it.
(He’s also aware that this would be good for keeping up appearances. He loves you, he does, but he can’t help that his mind often wanders to more logical pros and cons of things)
He gets a little...overbearing, but it’s honestly nice to get all that extra attention from him.
Jesse Cromeans (Chromeskull)
You’re understandably nervous about telling Jesse, unsure of how he would react and already knowing about his past.
And when you do tell him...yeah, it brings back some less than happy memories. The last time he was going to have a child...well, it didn’t end well.
But you’re different. You know about what he does and you love him despite it. If you want to bring this child into the world, you know completely who they’re father would be and you’d love them anyway.
(Like with Asa, it would be undeniably good for his image, having a spouse and a child, but that’s not something that he’s making decisions based on when it comes to you)
It’s not always easy to throw off Jesse but this did it, and you’re just waiting for his reaction nervously.
Of course, he doesn’t say anything, but he guides you towards him. A hand resting on your stomach as he presses a kiss to your forehead. He’s telling you that he’s okay with this if you are.
Otis Driftwood
You’re not wrong for being a little nervous to tell him or have a child in the Firefly household at all.
I can completely see why you think he might react badly.
However, when you do tell him, he’s actually pretty calm. Sure, he’s surprised, but he takes it well.
Admittedly, he never thought about having kids, and if he did he might have even decided that he wasn’t interested in having them.
But you’re pregnant, you’re both having this child, and that’s okay.
He’ll pull you into him, smirking as he says something along the lines of “so we’re going to be parents, huh?” he’s a little surprised when you just pull him into a relieved hug, but returns it.
He’ll raise them ‘right’, whatever he considers to be right.
All he promises you is that he is going to be a much better parent than his were. That’s it, that’s all he wants to be and he will be.
Yautja (Predator)
You find out at the exact same time. As soon as you start throwing up or just not feeling right, he’s taking you to get some medical attention.
And the medic tells you that you’re pregnant, as blunt as Yautja’s are.
Your mate is overjoyed. This is great news!
Even if the two of you weren’t planning this, he still loves the thought of you carrying his child, of you having his child. Yeah, this definitely isn’t bad news to him.
But he understands if you’re kinda freaking out about this, it was a surprise to you both.
Still, he’s going to be right there for you. Super involved and supportive, assuring you that you’re going to have the best medical care (better than anything you could get on earth). It’s all going to be fine.
Gets ten times more protective, clingy, and affectionate.

Hi dear, I hope you are doing well ♥ Could you please write headcanon how would slashers react to their s/o having a panic fear of spiders? Like she always freezes or scream when she sees even a really small spider.
(today I freaked out, when I saw the eight-legged monster above my bed and wish I had some big stabby men here, who would save me :) )
Spiders simply have to many legs and to many eyes
-Fern🌿
Slashers X S/O With Arachnophobia
Michael Myers
He simply cannot understand why you’re afraid of spiders. You’re not afraid of a giant man who murders people, but you’re scared of a tiny insect with eight legs? Yeah, okay, makes sense.
The first time he sees you screaming and freaking out over a spider, he thinks that it’s hilarious. Michael has never seen you so scared of anything before. Not even he managed to get that kind of reaction from you when he was considering killing you. It amuses him that you’re so afraid of a bug.
When you scream for him it never fails to freak him out. He thinks that you’re in danger. So when he just sees you pointing at the spider he considers letting you suffer and deal with it on your own.
Once he’s done watching you have your bug breakdown he will kill it for you. It is his job to protect you after all and while he does occasionally enjoy seeing the fear in your eyes, he would much rather you fear him. That small bug is stealing his thunder, so it has got to go.
Bo Sinclair
There is most definitely plenty of spiders in Ambrose. Majority of the places are run down on the inside, which makes them a safe haven for creepy crawlies. So unfortunately for you, there will be plenty of encounters with the eight legged horrors that are spiders.
The first time Bo hears you scream he panics, thinking that you’re in danger. So when he finds you pointing at a spider, it’s safe to say that he is a little bit upset.
At the same time he also finds it endearing and loves that you come running to him to save you. It shows that you trust him to protect you, even from little nuisances.
But still, even though he does think you’re being dramatic he’s quick to squash them. Bo knows that there’s plenty of spiders in Louisiana that could be dangerous and land you in the ER so he’s more than happy to handle them for you.
Be prepared for Bo to give you hell about your fear though. “What are you so scared for darlin’? The thing ain’t but the size of a dime, if that.”
Vincent Sinclair
He spends most of his time in dark, cool tunnels underground. There’s spiders absolutely everywhere in his workshop, Vincent is just used to them at this point.
Vincent does his best to keep you up in the house after the first time a spider crawls over your leg and you loose your mind. That effort lasted about all of one day considering he hates working alone now and misses your presence. Knowing that you want to be with him also doesn’t help his resolve any.
Used to try and save the spiders but eventually gave up. There’s simply to many of them in Ambrose, so saving them just doesn’t do any good.
Luckily, Vincent takes your fear of spiders very seriously. So anytime you call upon him to save you from the eight legged nuisances he is always quick to oblige.
If you interrupt his work though it may annoy him a little bit but he’ll never let you know that. He knows that you can’t help your phobia, but don’t expect him to stick around after he finishes the job. May also get a little bit of an attitude afterwards as well but always ends up apologizing.
Brahms Heelshire
Spiders don’t phase Brahms. He lives in the walls with plenty of them and has more than likely come to appreciate them. Which is very surprising for Brahms. So sometimes he tries to save the spiders and move them outside. Unless he’s been bitten by one.
If Brahms has been bitten by a spider before then it just turns into the two of you freaking out and arguing over who has to kill the spider.
“Be a gentleman, Brahms! You kill the spider.” “No! You kill it, you’re the one being paid!”
If you don’t want to deal with the spiders, all it takes is Malcolm stepping on one for you one time when you started freaking out. Brahms saw you thank him for it and got jealous. Now Brahms is your official protector from creepy crawlies, not Malcolm.
Thomas Hewitt
You’re going to have to get over your fear of spiders if you want to live in the Hewitt house. The old place does a terrible job of keeping the bugs outside so you’ll see them scurrying across the floor pretty frequently.
You know what they say, everything is bigger in Texas. Turns out, the spiders are no exception, so good luck.
Thomas is very busy and handles most of the chores for the family. He doesn’t have the time to run to your rescue every time you see a spider.
When he is with you he won’t hesitate to kill them for you though. Thomas isn’t afraid of people with weapons, why should he be afraid of a small critter with eight legs?
Luda Mae would honestly just look at you like your stupid if you tell her about your fear. Nonetheless any spider she sees it quickly whacked with an old newspaper before you even have a chance to see it.
Billy Loomis
“How come you never scream for me like that, babe?”
Billy thinks it’s absolutely hilarious that you’re afraid of something so small. You can date a murderer but an eight legged bug is where you draw the line?
While he loves to tease you about it, he will still save you from the spiders. What kind of boyfriend would he be if he didn’t? “Ask nicely and I might kill it for you.” “You’ll kill people but not the spider?” “You know what, just for that you can kill it yourself. Have fun!” Or maybe not…
Walks away but circles right back around when he hears you freaking out again. Then he gets dramatic about everything and starts huffing and rolling his eyes at you.
Stu Macher
Much like Billy, Stu teases you but in a less condescending way. Stu keeps his teasing more lighthearted, he just has a tendency to go to far with it from time to time.
Is also very dramatic and makes a whole scene out of killing the spider for you. Acts like he’s your knight in shining armor.
On the bright side, him being a complete dork distracts you from the spider. Unlike some people *cough cough Billy* he doesn’t delay the part where he kills the spider.
However, he does expect payment for saving you and protecting you from the big bad arachnid. It’s okay he accepts cuddles and kisses as a form of payment.
Jesse Cromeans
He has spent to much time on his murder sprees in the Deep South to be scared of spiders. Everyone knows that the south has plenty of deadly spiders and Jesse sin;t fazed by any of them so you can count on him to keep you safe.
There aren’t any spiders in his house either. Jesse has to much money to allow any sort of bugs get anywhere close to his house. Any time you see a spider within the house it’s most likely already dead anyways.
Jesse finds your fear of the bugs cute. It makes you seem so innocent. His sweet kitten isn’t afraid of him or what he does but they’re afraid of a tiny little spider.
Asa Emory
Asa doesn’t fear spiders, the spiders fear him.
Unlike the other slashers, Asa doesn’t tolerate bug homicide. Any time you find a spider in the house you better let him know so that he can safely get rid of it.
Some times he’ll keep the spiders that find their way into the house. Spiders are his favorite after all and native species are important for the environment.
Sadly, he would use your fear against you if he deems it necessary. As long as you listen to him though, there won’t be any issue.

Slashers As Monsters
Vincent/Bo/Lester Sinclair:
Gorgons. While the gorgons are traditionally female, they comprise a trio of siblings who generally keep to themselves, whose visitors often disappear, and who make art from their victims.
Bo and Lester can hide their snakes under hats, their fangs aren't so long that they're instantly noticeable, their gaze weak enough to be negated behind sunglasses. Vincent isn't so lucky, his snakes grew long and wild, his fangs so sharp they tore through his skin, his glance powerful enough that any human he looks at will turn to stone, even sunglasses won't help.
The trio mainly keep to themselves, not wanting to abandon Vincent, who would have to be constantly blindfolded and masked to appear in public. Gorgon's don't effect other gorgons, so all they really have is each other.
Vincent's statues are very similar to his regular selves wax works, and the level of effort is actually similar, with him having to put them in the precise pose he wants them in, occasionally having to carve a new head from stone when their final expression didn't suit the piece.
Billy Lenz:
Gremlin. Not the kind that comes from mogwai, but the World War kind. Crafty, wide-eyed, creatures who care little for the squabbles that go on around them, causing chaos wherever they go. They have an almost supernatural ability to fuck with machinery and electronics.
Billy lives in attics, basements, crawlspaces, anywhere he can fit. He tinkers with the electronics, steals food and clothing, and basically causes unseen mischief.
Has a particular fascination with phones, often tying up the lines, making strange phone calls, causing them to hang up in the middle of a call, etc.
Honestly the biggest difference between regular Billy and Gremlin!Billy is that Gremlin!Billy is much more likely to flee if seen and much less likely to murder anything that isn't mechanical.
Brahms Heelshire:
A poltergeist, the angry spirit of a man who died in the house long, long ago. The only thing that seems to soothe the angry spirit is when a strange doll is well taken care of by a lovely person.
Mistaken for the spirit of a child at first, due to how petty and well, childish he is. Steals things, makes the rooms colder, plays with toys, and throws horrible tantrums.
But the longer someone sticks around, the more evidence emerges that the spirit isn't a child at all. The things stolen graduate from pieces of candy to underwear and jewelry, the cold chills in the room seem to only effect certain people, and skirts seem blown by a mysterious indoor wind.
Sure, he could be exorcised, but the perks of this poltergeist being around is he's very loyal to the household. Anyone who dares intrude and try to hurt the people living in the old manor will be in for a very bad time.
Thomas Hewitt:
Minotaur, one heavily scarred and with quite a lot of gruesome facial injuries. Outcast by society and only accepted by a select few, Thomas put his strength to good use at a slaughterhouse, and had to put up with jokes not only about being a minotaur, but about how messed up it is he butchers “his own kind”, as they say. He does not say anything, but just snorts and leaves.
Doesn't wear human face masks. He tried once, and the skin stretched over his bovine snout was terrifying for absolutely everyone in the house, including himself. Still wears a simple leather mask to cover his more graphic facial wounds though.
Absolutely can and will gore someone with his horns. They're actually this version of Thomas' main weapon, being more efficient and readily available than a chainsaw. Though he would still use one on occasion.
Even being of a different species than her, Luda Mae still sees Thomas as her little baby boy. She sometimes has to braid his hair to keep it out of his eyes, since minotaur hair grows fast and thick, and he wears them with pride.

Horror Villains and: The Shovel Talk
Tumblr media
Who gives a successful shovel talk and is fully willing to go through with the threats at the slightest WHIFF of tomfoolery:
Bo Sinclair: He’ll be waiting on the porch all night with his gun and the dog.
Debbie Loomis: Oh, you want to date her perfect boy?? Hmmmm…
Granny Boone: She may also stalk y’all.
Inkubus: He’s very unsettling in his performance.
Jedidiah Sawyer: The date may not survive the shovel talk with Jed.
Mayor Buckman: Boone’s better at it, but he sure as heck tries.
Pamela Voorhees: She will want to see some kind of resume and at least 3 references if you want to date Jason.
Sheriff Hoyt: Dear god I wouldn’t want to be whoever he’s threatening. He takes great joy in performing the traditional shovel *cough* or shotgun *cough* talk.
The Clown / Kenneth Chase / Jeffrey Hawke: He only half means it, but goddamn is he good at it.
The Deathslinger / Caleb Quinn: Can you imagine this man standing there before you with that big ass gnarly looking weapon telling you that if he hears even one tiny unpleasant thing about the date he will hunt you down?! Dear god. Save yourself. and ‘mark me down as scared and horny’ XD Haha
Thomas Hewitt: He’ll be keeping an eye, out…
Who is the second family member / friend / whatever, who feels bad for the person who’s getting the shovel talk and tries to cool the situation:
Lester Sinclair: Well with Bo as the shovel talker, it has to even out somehow and Lester is happy to try!
Who is the second family member / friend / whatever, who doesn’t give a rats ass. Leave them alone.:
Michael Myers: He’s busy eating… don’t ask what, though. THEN you might get a threat.
Patrick Bateman: “Whatever.”
Piper Shaw: “Yeah uhuh, okay. Have fun.” *Doesn’t even look up from her laptop*)
Roman Bridger: He’s too busy directing movies and running a Wes Craven horror franchise to give shovel talks!?
Who is the second family member / friend / whatever who is edging on the angry shovel talker for their own enjoyment:
Midnight Man: Well he’s just mischievous bastard, isn’t he?
Both Pennywise’: Cheeky little shits.
The Djinn: Oh, he is just hanging totally onto the hope you’ll say something like “Oh, how could this possibly get any worse?”
The Man from Hush: Because he’s an ass.
Who stalks the couple instead of giving a shovel talk:
Stuart Lloyd: He’s at a table in the back of the restaurant trying to act natural.
The Huntress / Anna: But she gives the shovel talk AS WELL. She’s just, you know, making sure.
Who gives the shovel talk but is joking:
Chop Top Sawyer: *Cuts off mid shovel talk into raucous laughter* “Pfftttt, I can’t do this, hahahahahaha… Have fun kiddos, and here have a joint I pre-rolled.”
Who fails at giving the shovel talk:
Bubba Sawyer: He got cut off by one of his other brother’s. Sigh.
Who received the shovel talk:
Billy Loomis: Ohhhh, boy. If only Neil had caught Billy in Sydney’s room that night…
Jennifer Check: She really doesn’t care, though, hahah.
Jerry Dandridge: He’s so polite and understanding and smarmy with the shovel talker, cuz he knows he could kill everyone in the room easily in under a minute.
Kieran Wilcox: Probably from his own Dad, honestly.
Mickey Altieri: He also gives good natured shovel talks for the price of one big coffee- I mean come on, he’s in college. He’s struggling. He needs caffeine.
Who was about to receive the shovel talk, then had the person just gives up:
Carrie White: Shovel Talker: “This small golden thing would never hurt a soul, what am I doing?? Oh my god, it’s trembling, I’m a monster- “
Leslie Vernon: Shovel talker can’t decide whether this is a secret thirst machine or a cinnamon bun.
Who gave up giving the shovel talk halfway through:
Drayton Sawyer: “-Aghh, what do I care. Don’t get shit on your good dress shirt.”
Who got the shovel:
Freddy Krueger: Just, you know. Shovels- right to the knees.
Stu Macher: I mean Sydney got it done but Cece and Tatum are gonna throttle him in the afterlife, too.
Who gave the shovel talk… then got the shovel from someone else:
Chucky Lee Ray: You can’t tell me if Tiffany’s mother was in the picture she wouldn’t have shot Chucky in the face at least once by now.
Is the poor lead who’s date is getting the damn shovel talk:
Jason Voorhees: I betcha he would also give a great shovel talk, too.
Jill Roberts: Her and her innocent little act. Standing there like ?? what?? Why are you threatening my date?? This is so embarrassing…
Vincent Sinclair: Oh my god, he cannot bring (Or sneak) anyone home, friend or what, without Bo sniffing them out and starting on his bullshit. Lester immediately behind him making jokes that are ignored.
*Then there’s Luda Mae,
Who is probably the one who feels sorry for the person who’s getting the shovel talk when it comes to Thomas (While Hoyt gives the talk), but who then GIVES a threatening shovel talk to Charlie when he brings a gal home. Not to the date though XD

Thomas Hewitt x Reader (Part 13)
Tumblr media
Few hours passed, and everyone in the family was agitated. The atmosphere was grim as nobody knew what to expect. The boy definitely called for help, which meant someone would discover your whereabouts sooner rather than later. You were puzzled about your situation, as you finally admitted your feelings to yourself. You loved this man in a way, and you were determined to help him when he would need you… By killing for him, you gave up your past life, and now your future was dim as well.
If they found you… maybe they would assume you weren’t in the right mental state to control yourself and that you were forced by this family to participate in the killing to survive yourself… but what would happen to Thomas? To Luda? You didn’t want anything bad happening to them. For safety measures, you decided to get Thomas to your room upstairs. Hoyt and Luda both helped you as Thomas could barely walk. He was incredibly lucky that the guy didn’t hit the artery in his thigh, or he would’ve bled out.
You sat on the bed next to Thomas and looked at his tired face.
“Tommy…” you whispered as you held his hand and smiled at him.
He was on the verge of crying… not because of all the pain. Because he felt loved without prejudice for the first time in his life and despite the circumstances, he was genuinely happy. Your presence made him forget how cruel life could be. Everything he went through was worth it if it led to meeting you. You could see how lost in his thoughts he was.
“What are you thinking about, Tommy?” you asked curiously. He just kept staring at you.
“Me…” you wondered.
Thomas nodded, happy that you got it. He was sad that he couldn’t talk with you normally. There was so much he wanted to tell you, ask you… he wanted to get to know you better. He just knew your name, your kind heart, but he never got the chance to learn more about your past life, your family, your hobbies. But maybe it was for the better as he was already feeling guilty for the way you two met and how you were forced to stay with him. Thomas frowned and looked away. He didn’t like to think of you as a victim. He wanted you to be part of the family.
“What’s wrong?” you were worried that he was feeling worse.
Thomas closed his eyes and sighed. When he opened his eyes again, his gaze shifted towards the cuff, making it impossible for you to leave this room the first few days.
“Oh, that…” you immediately understood what was going through his mind. It was true, his family did indeed kidnap you and planned to kill you.
“You know Thomas, I admit, I wasn’t happy about my situation and that I had to be locked up here. But it wasn’t your fault… you were always nice to me.” You explained your feelings to him.
Thomas wasn’t pleased with your answer, and you could tell.
“Okay… well…” you mumbled, trying to find the right words. “It’s fate.” You finally let out. Thomas questioningly raised his eyebrow.
“It was predestined for us to meet this way.” You explained. “Me going on a road trip with people that didn’t even like me that much, getting into that accident, me waking up in the basement alive. Wait, that’s true, why you took care of Chloe first?” your train of thoughts was finally interrupted by a realization that Thomas could’ve killed you before you had a chance to wake up. Thomas really wanted to explain himself. He liked the thought of it all being fate.
“Hmmm…” you looked around the room and then reached for a pen and paper from your suitcase. Thomas was eager to take it from you and began writing. After a few minutes, he handed the paper to you. It was very hard to read, and there were many mistakes, but you could make it out.
“My ma told me you were nice, so I should kill you quickly and painlessly. I couldn’t bring myself to. You were pretty and looked so innocent, hard to butcher. Another girl was screamin at me, said I am ugly monster. I wanted you to do the same when you wake up to make my job easier…” Thomas was clearly embarrassed by his messy writing and poor grammar, but you thought it was adorable. You looked back at Thomas and leaned towards him with a smile.
“See, all fate.” You whispered and gave him a soft kiss, but he held you close and began kissing you back. When your lips parted as you needed air, Thomas pulled you closer to him. You snuggled on his side, careful not to touch any of the wounds.
“Do you want to know something about me?” you asked when you realized that you knew a lot about Thomas’s life while he didn’t know anything about yours. Thomas happily nodded, as he didn’t feel so guilty for now, because he was content with all being destiny. You started rambling about your past, what you did for work, and what hobbies you had in your free time. Thomas carefully listened, trying to remember every single word. He loved hearing you talk about yourself.
*
You spent hours in bed, just talking, well you were the one talking. Thomas occasionally wrote something to respond. The danger of being discovered by the police fading from your mind as you enjoyed each other’s company. After you were done talking because you basically told him everything, Thomas wrote: “I am sorry.” He knew that as long as Hoyt is here, you won’t be able to see your family. It was hard for Thomas to defy any member of his family because he was taught to obey everyone his whole life.
“It’s okay, Tommy…” you assured him that you didn’t mind, at least for now. You hoped that after being here long enough and proving yourself even more trustworthy, you would be able to return to your past life… maybe take Thomas with you. You heard footsteps, and then Luda stepped into the room with bandages.
“It’s time to clean ya up, m’boy.” She announced.
“I can do it.” You offered your help as you got up from the bed. Luda glanced over at Thomas only to see the nod of approval and handed the bandages over to you along with disinfection.
“I got it in the shop today.” She explained.
“Thank you, Luda.” You gave her a warm smile.
“I’ll bring dinner upstairs for you in a minute.” She said as she disappeared in the hallway and went back to the kitchen. You turned to Thomas, who tried to sit up. “I’ll be gentle, but please let me know if it hurts.” You said and shifted your attention to his wounded shoulder first, as it was easiest to reach. Thomas hissed in pain.
“Sorry, sorry.” You panicked a bit as you disinfected the gash, but Thomas looked you in the eyes and caressed your cheek. This man… big and dangerous was so gentle and vulnerable in front of you. Your heart fluttered every time he touched you.
“You are so brave, Tommy.” You admired his strength. Both emotional and physical. “You know, it’s imposing.”
Thomas was confused. What did you mean by that?
You giggled and then explained: “Everything you went through, Luda told me. I think you are amazing, despite everything people did to you; still, you have such a kind heart.” Thomas completely melted. He didn’t understand how someone so perfect could give him honest compliments. Thomas was still very self-conscious. As you tenderly tended to his other wounds, you saw the already healed scars on his body—some on his torso, a lot of them on his arms. Your expression saddened at sight, and Thomas noticed. There were some bigger scars, you knew that those were probably from the victims, but there were also ones with a certain pattern. You ran your fingers across them. Thomas flinched as he wasn’t used to someone touching him, especially his scars. It was his secret, his bad habit.
“You did that?” you asked with glassy eyes, even though you knew the answer. Thomas nodded and looked away in embarrassment.
“I’ll make sure you never have a reason to do that ever again, Tommy. I will always be here for you.” You grabbed his hand and gently kissed each and every scar.
Thomas’s eyes widened; he was stunned. He expected you to condemn him or mock his weakness, but your reaction was something else. Again. You were so special, different from anyone else. You loved him for him. Thomas wrapped his arms around you and embraced you in a tight hug. He hid his face, and tears streamed down his cheeks. All the pent-up pain in him, leaving his body as you ran your fingers through his hair and kissed his neck.
A/N: New chapter in 2 days <3 Tomorrow I will post the short story for Hilliker brothers from the Wrong Turn series and some of the Art RQs I got.
And I am still taking requests, both Art and Writing ones.

I thought Y/N leaves me.

Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4/ Part 5 / Part 6 /Part 7 / Part 8 /
Part 9 / Part 10/  Part 11  / Part 12 / Part 13 / Part 14 / Part 15
Part 16 / Part 17 / Part 18
The shadows are thickening around you. Around Aleksander. His body language is aggressive and he stares at you in anticipation. As if he expected what he thought would happen anyway. Contempt. Rejection.
“So, will you leave?” he asks you, trying not to sound hurt. “Would I survive it?” you ask as respond. His eyes gets empty. He looks to the ground, not able to look at you. He was too afraid you would leave him alone. You can tell your words making him sad. He couldn’t harm you in anyway. The shadows fates away and he notice the smile on your face, as he blink and lift his gaze on you. “See, you are not that bad guy many think about the black heretic.” You step closer, take his hand and lay the other on his cheek.
“So? How many people killed Zlatan? The King? All the others? Oh, Right. Your old as fuck, grandpa, but lets be serious, as eternal person you can be old as you want, does it mean you don’t love anymore? You don’t deserve it? Everyone is younger than you.” Maybe you could live forever now. You are not Luda. She was just a normal grisha and you have an amplifier in your neck which caught the darkness of the unborn but you also survive the shadow fold and all his shadows.
“The world isn’t just black and white. Nor light and dark. A spider-web is normal for the spider and important for its surviving and for the fly it is just chaos and death. I know your reasons and I understand you more than you think.”  His eyes get softer. “How do you know they are not lying to you?”
Your place your hand of his cheeks on your upper body. Pointing on it: “Because I feel it. I feel you. We are connected through the shadows. Maybe the volcra and the shadow fold accepted me and this is the reason I really survived. The volcra could have kill me easily after I fall but they did not. Aleksander. Saints.” You squint to the sky above you. “I really like you with your good and the bad sides.“ “I killed people. I am hundreds of years old. Eternal.”
You are more equal than she could be. You would not say it out loud. You know Luda was important for Aleksander and one reason why he used merzost. She would be for ever in his heart for some point and you accept this. If you die you wish to be in some corner of his heart too.
“Aleksander, can you please say anything?” you beg him because he didn’t react. You just see some wet eyes.
He clears his throat. “In all the years of my life there was never such a scenario. No opportunity and Saints, you speak to much. I have to stop this madness.” He strikes with one hand his hair of his face back. The light break on the little waterdrops of his skin.
He looks like he glitters in the sun. He grabs your face in his hands aggressively. Fletching his teeth, he stares into your Y/E/C eyes and finally place his lips on yours. The creature of the night appears behind you and mash the two first legs next to you at the same time. Aleksander opens his eyes and look at the bizarre face of the monster.
“You are very protective about me even against yourself.” You whisper against his lips, who stopped moving. “Because you are precious to me. I might fall in love with you.” The creature steps back and dissolves. “I already fall into the darkness.” Aleksander focus on you again. He kisses you and draw you near him, so the moistness of his kefta soaks trough yours. It cools down the heat a little bit.

how you met thomas . . .
part four
( part one ) ( part two ) ( part three )  ( part five )  ( part six )
thomas was thankful that you seemed to settle after the meeting with hoyt . the one with monty being just as difficult if not a bit more when the amputee started trying to get vulgar . luckily you hadn’t noticed , and monty was lucky you hadn’t . tommy had been ready to grab the chainsaw and amputate another one of the man’s limbs for his talk .
somehow he’d managed to urge you into the kitchen , choosing to sit close to the entrance in case one of the other men came in snooping to looking to cause trouble . he wasn’t going to take a chance on either of those stubborn old bastards bothering you any more than they already had .
“ you have a really protective family , tommy . it’s kinda cute . reminds me of my family a little bit . even if mr hoyt seems a bit grumpy . ” thomas gave a blank look , brow raised as he snorted a laugh . grumpy . that’s something no one had called hoyt before . certainly not what thomas would call him . “ is this why you’re so big tommy ? because you’re full of sass ? ” you laugh again , teasing him as you sit across from him , pulling your legs into the chair to sit cross legged .
“ i gotta admit . i feel kind of bad . miss luda sure is offering a lot . i don’t have much to repay you with all with . but i’m really grateful that she invited me to dinner . and i’m happy you made sure i didn’t get the chased off the property . i just - ”
thomas reach out , turning his palm to show you the bandage around it . red brown with blood that had dried since you wrapped it up . with a soft smile you took his hand , gently running your thumb over the gauze . “ i don’t really think helping someone who’s hurt is deserving of dinner and a nights rest . any decent person would help someone who’s hurt . why wouldn’t i want to help you ? besides , it was my fault - don’t go rolling your eyes at me sassy pants , it was my fault . i was staring too hard at you . ”
thomas grunted , telling you that yes , it was your fault for making him drop the jar of jam . and hell , if he didn’t look a big smug at blaming you . you stuck your tongue out playfully , giggling a bit , “ well it’s not all my fault . it’s your fault too . or maybe your momma’s and your papa’s . how am i not supposed to stare at a true born and bred country boy . ”
the compliment takes him by surprise , his face flushed so dark that you can see it on his ears . seeing such a reaction and the sudden shyness that envelopes thomas as he gently pulls his hands away has you flushing just as hard . feeling embarrassed about saying such a brash thing . he shifts uncomfortably in his seat , glancing away from you , a small frown on his face . were you only picking on him ? or had you been genuine ? no one was genuine . they called him a freak , ugly , too big , a beast , a monster , an animal . was that what you were doing ? he closed his eyes , trying to force down the painful memories , only to open them to see you staring at him confused and worried . a hand reaching out to touch his knee .
“ no one’s ever told you something like that before ? ” thomas shook his head no . not bothering to look at you , arms crossing and leg bouncing , hyper aware of your fingers still resting on his knee .” i’m not lying . thomas , your huge . huge . you’re tall and got big arms and legs and you you like a mountain . do you know how many boys back home act like they are your size ? all of em . and none of them could even compare . you’re certified texas tough . you’re momma should have named you ford because you might just be the best in texas . and i’m not joking . i’m being serious . you should be proud to be so strong . ”
thomas felt like steam was going to come out his ears . he felt so overheated by every word that came from your lips . he swallowed thickly , finally glancing over to your face . you looked so serious . you looked like you believed and meant every word you just said to him . and tommy felt his stomach to a flip and his heart hammer against his ribs . he could only manage a slight nod , accepting your words as truth . as your truth . maybe you just didn’t get a good enough look at him . he didn’t know , but whatever the reason he was thankful . he hadn’t realized how it felt to hear something so nice be said about him .
with a shaky inhale , he moved his uninjured hand down , placing his thick fingers over the ones you pressed to his knee . a silent thank you . an excuse to tough you . to make sure you were real and he hadn’t just been dreaming . you beamed up at him as he rested his fingers over your own . you’d been worried this big man would of rejected your words or laughed at you , or gotten mad . but he didn’t . and part of you felt that he really needed to hear it .
“ i see you made it back home safe . ” thomas jumped up , startled as the back kitchen  door slammed shut and luda walked in . he nodded , standing stiff and awkward , his fingers flexing as he tried to remember and forget the feeling of your hand under his all at the same time . you merely perked up and smiled , welcoming luda home and moving to help her with the bags she’d brought with her .
“ oh , none of that now , i’m capable . but thank you , honey . now , did hoyt or monty give you any fuss or trouble , darlin’ ? i know they can be a bit much . ” she glanced between you and thomas , watching how her son shifted and stole glances at you . she’d been waiting by the door when she heard the tail end of your conversation , and she had to admit that she’d made a good choice in keeping you off the dinner table . she was sure as hell that her tommy thought so too .
“ oh . um , no ma’am . they were fine . no trouble or - ”
“ uh huh . no use lying to me , darlin’ . tommy , did hoyt and monty mind themselves ? ”
you flushed , sputtering as you tried to come to the defense of the two men who had in fact been rather rude to you . you looked at tommy and he gave you a dead stare and rolled his eyes before shaking his head . honestly , he didn’t know why you were trying to defend them . the grunt and crossed arms he gave his momma was enough to have her slap down the slightly damp kitchen towel she’d been dying her hands with .
“ those old fools . honey , excuse me , i’m gonna go give my son and brother a stern talkin’ to . they ain’t got no mind on how to treat guests . ”
“ miss luda , it really isn’t any trouble . they weren’t - ”
“ now what’d i say , darlin’ ? none of that . you just sit here . when i come back i’ll put hoyt to fixin’ dinner and we’ll get you cleaned up and outta that messy shirt . ”
there was no way you could argue with luda mae . her word was law in this house , and well , you’d been raised better than fight a momma on a mission . so you nodded and thanked luda , flashing a pout at thomas who shrugged and leaned against the wall , looking smugly at you .
“ sassy sassy man . ” you teased at him , only to jump and squeak when you heard luda mae going off on hoyt and monty from the other room . thomas only laughed under his breath . it felt nice to hear the hoyt be chewed out for once .
