Mystra showed him the secrets beneath the veils. The gossamer veils first, draped across the Weave. The delicate veils next, draped across her body. 'Chosen One' she whispered, as she slipped them off completely.
poor gale :'(
- the dialogue is from ea gale's explanation about his folly
- i kinda like that she ended up looking like a mother-of-pearl inlay lacquerware!
- oh this was a subconscious choice, but Gale is sitting in seiza which is a posture for showing respect especially to elders. it's also known to be a painful position to sit in for extended periods of time, which is why it was sometimes used as a method of (morally dubious) punishment. however, experienced people can maintain this posture for much longer. food for thought :-)
- (edit: deleted this point bcs it didn't really make sense + detracted from the art a little;;)

A very specific idea/scenario I have about Alastor's sleeping habits
He barely even sleeps in the first place. He sleeps like only a few hours a week, in one go. He locks himself up in his room once a week, sleeps for 4 hours straight and that's it. And since he doesn't sleep much, each time he does he falls into a deep slumber and it's absolutely impossible to wake him up he's straight up passed out until he gets fully recharged.
He does this because the idea of being in a vulnerable position where anyone could do anything to him while he's completely defenseless is too unsettling for him, so he sleeps as little as he can and always makes sure he's locked up first, away from everyone else's eyes.
HOWEVER, one time he's playing cards with the rest of the hotel, and because he got unconsciously so comfortable around them, he accidently falls asleep on the couch during the game. Everyone is shocked because they didn't even know he actually needed to sleep (they always hear him walk around the hotel humming at night like an absolute creep so they just all collectively assumed he didn't need to sleep).
Charlie panicks a little because nothing seems to wake him up, but he's still breathing and seems fine, eventually they all just let him sleep there and keep on going with their card games since the noise doesn't seem to bother him. Charlie even put a blanket on him, and Angel initially wants to draw something on his face as a prank but in the end everyone agrees not to try anything like this, because who knows how the radio demon would react,,, could be dangerous.
A few hours later Alastor finally wakes up, immediately understands what happened and plays it cool like "Oh dear, looks like I passed out, too bad I couldn't finish the game :) oopsie" but internally he's SCREAMING
EDIT: greykolla was faster than me and made a comic about it it's so so good 😭 crying

i think a lot about the loneliness of being aromantic. because it's something that's so profound, right? you're told your whole life that you need something to make you happy, to make you complete, to give you connection with other people, and when you realize you're aro, that's torn away from you. everything you've been raised to want is no longer something that will fulfill you. you are not built to be happy. and it gets better with time, it does! you restructure your world view, bit by bit, and the sting fades, but... i don't think it ever truly goes away. it's hard to express, because i love being aro, and i'm happy being aro, i wouldn't want to be any other way, but at the same time. there is such a profound heartbreak to knowing that you will never be someone's most important person in a society that values romance. that you'll never get the happy ever after that you were promised as a child. and you know you can be happy. but there's a lifetime of amatonormativity that lives in your brain and tells you that you can't.

We need to remember that Shubble stated that Wilbur would manipulate and gaslight friends and family. With this, we must be patient with streamers that were close to Wilbur. This was likely surprising and shocking for them. They may need time to come to terms with what has happened.
I have been vocal about how important it is for men to be critical about abusive behaviors. However, Wilbur had many close friends—some would even consider him family—and now they may feel they hardly knew him at all.
There is a deep stress felt by viewers. It is difficult to think we have given any amount of time or money to an abuser. Could you imagine a close friend right now? The pain and betrayal must sear. They need time to understand what has happened and come to terms with it. Many of them may not be live in the coming days (weeks even).
That being said, as time passes, criticism may be necessary. Complacency is not an option. Men that are willing to ignore abuse to protect an abuser are just as pathetic as the abusers themselves.
Let's give this situation time to breathe. I ask that we give patience and courtesy to those close to Wilbur at this time. But please do not forget that this happened. There may be a few streamers hoping to lay low and then drop a collab in a few months. Do not let them. This is too important.

In this scene, where Ballister puts his hand, his robotic hand, on Nimona to stop her from committing suicide, whether intentional or not, has a lot of meaning to me. Because Ballister didn't choose to have this arm. He got his hand chopped off against his will. And he only built the robotic one out of necessity. Nimona didn't choose to be able to shape shift. And the big 'monster' form she took was, for her, out of necessity.
And the fact that Ballister stopped her 'monster' form with his robotic arm while saying "I see you" and "you're not alone" is so poetic and symbolic. He's saying "I understand". And even though he doesn't understand fully, he can empathise with Nimona, like nobody ever has.
Although Ballister isn't ostracised because of his lack of a biological hand like Nimona is ostracised for her shape shifting. The arm represents WHY he is ostracised, the event in which he lost his original one. It represents his current state, he has the robotic arm and he is hated by society.
Throughout the whole movie, Nimona is already fully set in the fact that she isn't bad and it is society hating her that is the problem. While Ballister learns from Nimona to question society for rejecting him. And at the climax of the movie, this situation is flipped, with Nimona doubting her self worth, while Ballister says "I understand, and I stand with you while society hates us".
This is the message I take the most out of this movie. It is two people, rejected by society, learning to empathise with each other. One (Nimona) being able to faster than the other. While Ballister, with objectively the smaller problem (but still just as valid) learning to understand Nimona's bigger and longer lasting struggle with society.
I believe this is very applicable to our society. Because no matter how bad our struggles are, there is likely somebody who will be hated by society even more, to the point even we are wary of them. It is important to have support for ourselves, but it is just as important to be the support for somebody else, even if at first we have prejudices that we have to unlearn.
