I was listening to “Only Love Proudly…” again, and when I got to the bit about Jaskier going through more chemises than anyone ought, I remembered a tip from corset making:

The seams of a corset are under a lot of strain, and it is a common failure point- either the stitches will snap, or the fabric will rip along the stitch line. If the outer layer of the corset is expensive silk, it is a very good idea to make sure that the fabric is stronger than the thread, so if the seam rips you can sew right it back up without changing the width of the panel.

So maybe the seamstresses start doing up Jaskier’s chemises in very weak thread, with seams in the convenient ripping locations so Geralt can peel him like a banana and they just have to do a quick stitch job rather than making an entirely new garment.

I think the seamstresses absolutely start making Jaskier's chemises to be essentially tear-away clothing. Jaskier is delighted and Geralt doesn't notice, because, well, all clothing is tear-away if you're a Witcher.

The Accidental Warlord And His Pack Inspired Au:

.It wasn't Geralt's plan to become a warlord of the north; however, life and destiny had other plans. Nor was conquering Lettenhove, but Geralt couldn't say he was sad about especially having to see Jaskier there.

Since the incident on the mountain, Geralt hadn't encountered Jaskier. Yet fate had a twist in store as Geralt recalled Jaskier's mention of being the Viscount of Lettenhove. In the tradition of conquest, the victorious monarch typically claims a prize.

So naturally, Geralt selected Jaskier as his prize.

It seemed like an ideal solution for Geralt—to bring Jaskier back to Kaer Morhen, where the bard could find safety and contentment. However, Jaskier's demeanour shifted, becoming more subdued and withdrawn, a far cry from his usual vibrant self. Despite Geralt's efforts, he couldn't coax Jaskier back to his usual spirited self.

It wasn't until Yennefer pointed out to Geralt the legal implications of claiming Jaskier as his prize. In the eyes of the law, Jaskier was now Geralt's property, and Geralt had yet to apologize for the rift between them stemming from their mountain encounter.

Ok, so, have you read the Warlord Geralt trope created by inexplicifics?

Well, imagine this Radskier/Geraskier version

After the mountain and finding Ciri, Geralt becomes the Warlord to keep the princess safe and unite all witchers to protect non-humans.

Geralt gains status and power which forces him to maintain alliances with the other neighboring kingdoms, including of course Redania.

Redania has a new king after Vizimir died without leaving heirs, leaving his younger brother, Prince Radovid, on the throne along with Prince Consort Julian.

Geralt and his entourage (Eskel, Lambert, Yennefer, Aiden, Vesemir, etc) arrive at the Redanian court to discover that Julian, the prince consort, is none other than Jaskier, the bard Geralt had desperately sought after becoming the Warlord.

And then... DRAAAAAAAAMAAAAA

Had a thought. (I've had a vicious and persistent sore throat/ear infection, so it grew out of that.) Witchers would be GREAT to cuddle when you're sick - they're warm, they don't catch or spread illnesses, they like spending time with friends/friendly humans, they respect boundaries (ie yes to cuddling, no to groping).

Basically, five bucks says any random human at Kaer Morhen could walk into the great hall or onto the training grounds, say "I feel like crap and I want a hug," and IMMEDIATELY have a dozen offers.

Now, if for whatever reason JASKIER got sick or injured and wanted comfort cuddles but Geralt and Eskel were called away for Warlord/Right Hand business, you KNOW that he'd whine at them that "noooo, you can't take my cuddle wolf, not when I'm SICK, at least find me another one while you're gone!"

So they call Aubry. (It's fine. It's far from the first time Aubry's cuddled Jaskier; the man is as good as his little brother.) Sasha and Milena come by with their lovers, and somehow Jaskier ends up wedged between Aubry, Aiden, and Lambert, with Sasha sketching birds for him and Milena reading to them.

The next day it's an entirely different cast of Witchers, with a few humans snuggled in.

Ciri and Zia poke their heads in one day to see Jaskier drooling on Gweld while Serrit sharpens all her many, many knives at the foot of the bed.

"Is he trying to sleep with everyone in the keep?"

Serrit snorts.

Ciri laughs. "No, he just likes cuddling them, I think. He only fucks Da and Uncle Eskel."

I'm looking for a witcher fic, Help!

I'm looking for this fic That I know I've read somewhat recently, and I'll break it down below, but I wanted to share some screenshots as well.

First, when I search what I'm looking for I get a snippet of the synopsis right there. I'm nearly 100% certain that that is the fic I'm looking for.

Which then leads me to these, and the fic is not there. There are nine fics under the monarch Jaskier tag, and none of them are what I'm looking for.

Synopsis, as I remember it:

This is after the mountain fight, so Geralt and Jaskier are separate. I think Eskel finds him and invites him/asks him to come help. Over the past few years, Geralt accidentally conquered a town/ lordship area because the Lord was doing some bad stuff. Anyway, they had conquered this area and then left, and then Bandits came into the town and were violent, so the witchers are now trying to basically be the Lords of this area - it's not going great. So they invite Jaskier just to help de-stress Geralt, to be a friend, and then Jaskir ends up taking over. Eventually, he becomes lordship and then it turns out that he's out of the elf and they're doing a lot of work to help non-humans, and they're fighting with the human Lordships and kings, and eventually they crown Jaskier. Throuout this there's talk about how Geralt wants to be a knight, and then he becomes Jaskiers 1st knight.

I'm at a point where someone can find this, I will pay actual cash money for it. I don't even remember if it's that fabulous a fic, it's just driving me insane that I can't find it but I know I've read it a couple times.

Just a thought for the Progress, all the civilians want to salute their King and his Consorts with their many, many (and of differing degrees of quality) renditions of the Wolf Rising cycle. Think children's choirs, grandpa on the hurdy gurdy, some noble lady's very 'accomplished' daughters on the high harp and bag pipes.

Ooooh oh nooooo.

You're absolutely right and Jaskier is going to be in agony. Very proud his work has been so widely acclaimed, and having so much trouble not twitching at the missed notes.

The protective nature of Geralt the White Wolf, the renowned warlord of the north, over his beloved consort Jaskier, is widely acknowledged across the continent.

Due to the constant threat of individuals seeking to harm Geralt, Jaskier, despite being a Bard, tends to keep a low public profile. Aware that Jaskier is an easy target as Geralt's romantic partner, both of them take precautions to ensure his safety. As a result, Jaskier predominantly resides in Kear Morhen, and when he ventures out, he is typically accompanied by Geralt or a sizable group of Witchers who have sworn to defend him.

While Jaskier wholeheartedly loves Geralt, there are moments when he yearns for the freedom of his former life as a wandering bard. Before assuming the role of Consort to the warlord of the north, Jaskier embraced his nomadic nature, constantly journeying from one place to another. It is likely due to this inherent wanderlust that, one day while Jaskier and Geralt were visiting a foreign kingdom for diplomatic purposes, Jaskier conceived the adventurous notion of sneaking out for the day

All Jaskier desired was to indulge in playing his lute at the local tavern. His plan could have succeeded if it weren't for his extravagant taste in clothing. Jaskier always had an affinity for the finer things in life, and his attire was no exception.

Two bandits happened upon Jaskier's performance and mistakenly perceived him as a wealthy lord's child masquerading as a bard. Seizing the opportunity, they devised a plan to abduct Jaskier and hold him for ransom. Consequently, Jaskier found himself bound, gagged, and draped over one of the bandits' horses, en route to their leader. However, upon reaching their leader, the bandit leader immediately recognized Jaskier for who he truly was.

The Bandit Leader possessed full knowledge of Jaskier's significant role as the consort to the warlord of the north. Acutely aware of Geralt's fiercely protective nature towards Jaskier, the bandit leader understood the dire consequences they would face should even the slightest harm befall the beloved bard.

Now, the three bandits found themselves desperately seeking a way to clandestinely return Jaskier to the castle where Geralt was engaged in diplomatic meetings, without arousing any suspicion that they were the captors. As fate would have it, Geralt had already noticed Jaskier's absence and a search party was diligently scouring the surroundings to locate him.

Knowing the stakes were high and fearing the wrath of the White Wolf, the bandits grappled with the urgent challenge of ensuring Jaskier's safe return, all while concealing their own involvement in his disappearance.
