Struggling bc I want to continue working on the Warped Realm but also dont know if i should postpone the story-building until Tears of the Kingdom comes out …
Debating if I want my au to take place in between BotW and TotK so I don’t have to wait, but then again we don’t know how soon the new game takes place after BotW. Damn man :/

Hi, just wanted to say I LOVE ur Underworld God and Chima God oc's!!! I had a question tho. Does the Chima God have any ties to the sun whatsoever?
From what I recall (although I'm not a Chima expert so anyone can feel free to correct me) they had this thing called the "Mother Sun", which was basically like some sort of God or something.
I'm aware that you didn't watch Chima tho so this may not make as much sense, but is ur Chima God oc like, the Mother Sun or something?
Yes! She is referred to as Mother Sun in the transcendent au canon.
There is a handful of god characters quickly whipped up from a glance at wikipedia for the sake of having the reference to other lego "realms" like this. Mother Sun plays a slightly larger role than ones like say, a nexo knights god or the great beings of bionicle in the story however, since chima is ninjago's sister realm.
I guess in a sense she's not really an oc since she was already established as the goddess of the world, but since details on her were kinda limited we obviously took a lot of liberties re: design, personality, backstory, etc.

// The Cycle //
(au details below)
After his banishment from The Gods' Plane, Grimm is too weak to sustain his physical form indefinitely. As a result, his physical body is stuck in an endless cycle of death and rebirth, as its lifespan is limited and its powers are limited
The Nightmare King, and his physical body, Troupe Master Grimm, are the same being separated by the barrier between the physica world and his nightmare realm. They exist simultaneously, they share thoughts, memories and personality traits, although their physical appearance differs - the physical body is smaller, its body lacks the extensive fluff, and is more organic in nature. Within the nightmare realm and with the Nightmare Heart's power, Grimm has full control over the body's physical and physiological aspects, and so its appearance may change following each ritual if he so desires. However, each body withers away over time, and thus it must be replaced periodically. Unfortunately, with the Heart's limited power, the vessel must spawn in a reduced form and grow with the help of his troupe (or any volunteer). Collecting nightmare flame speeds up the process, as does the presence of the previous body, which then gets consumed by flame and replaced by the new vessel
---
Stage I ("Grimmspawn") - the vessel that spawns from the nightmare flame. It is small in size, but capable of flight. Its legs and arms are underdeveloped, and its body is covered in fluff. Its eyes are closed, and the head is similar in shape to a teardrop, as the horns are not separated in this stage
Stage II ("Grimmchild") - having absorbed nightmare flame, the vessel grows in size and its limbs develop. The headshape resembles that of the final form, although its body is noticeably more serpentine in shape, and its fluff covering is more sparse. Consuming more flame allows it to continue growing until it reaches its final stage
Stage III ("Troupe Master") - after the previous vessel is consumed by flame, another takes its place. This form is most commonly known as the Troupe Master Grimm, or simply just Grimm. Despite its status as a vessel, it stands equal with the Nightmare King - it is with this body that Grimm is able to interact with the physical world, and so this stage lasts the longest, up to a few months
However, in this form, Grimm requires blood in order to sustain his physiological functions for a longer period of time, as his heart and circulatory system are weak. Similarly, he rarely uses the full extent of his powers, as doing so weakens him and forces him to rest in order to regain his strength. Although he lacks the long tail and the wings of his previous stages, his cloak can move around and warp into different shapes, most commonly into tendrils and spikes
Despite his weak heart, Grimm's body functions as you'd expect - he is capable of consuming and digesting food, and even reproduction (though the body is usually designed to be infertile, as a preventive measure). Interestingly, he is unable to cry, likely due to the unnatural aspect of his eyes
Stage IV - if the ritual is delayed for whatever reason, Grimm's body starts showing noticeable signs of decay. He becomes physically weak, he gradually loses his voice, and he starts shedding fur from his limbs. The flame rages from within his body, and smoke escapes through his wounds. His eyes lose their scarlet color and start leaking, making him appear as if he's weeping. The body eventually burns down, and if this occurs outside of a ritual, the next vessel is unable to consume its flame, meaning it takes a much longer time to grow. Grimm rarely allows himself to reach this stage, preferring to replace the body while it is still in a functioning state, as it makes the entire process much smoother

I keep coming up with cryptid!Batfam ideas, and @hallowsden is a very helpful coconspirator.
This is the Hell-touched AU
Constantine paused as the figure coalesced into a human shape, though his magic sight was privy to the multitude of eyes and shadows that stretched as far as he could see. "Bloody hell," he muttered, pulling out a cigarette, only to pause as several eyes bore into him, shadows slinking over, refusing to let him light the smoke.
"Perhaps I should have brought the swear jar." While the voice seemed normal at its most audible point, there was echoes and screeches buried beneath the words.
Before John could finish processing the jar comment, Batman stepped fourth and spoke in some language not of earth.
Constantine may have been magically versed in many languages but even he could only catch a few words, one of which angled somewhere towards 'caregiver'.
"Bats?"
"Not now, Clark." Part of his words dipped into the incomprehensible tongue, almost an overlay before he cleared his throat. "An issue has come up in Gotham, I am needed."
Gotham... somewhere the hellblazer refused to step foot in, the land reeking of sulfur and rotting magic, the air stagnant with pain and hopelessness, a city chained by greed and insanity.
The monstrosity's form layered over itself and Batman, before the two were gone with hardly a sound, no hint but the lingering scent and magic showcasing that they had ever stood in the room.
John shuddered and finally lit his cigarette. "Bloody Gothamites, the whole lot is cursed."
In this AU, Gotham is a part of hell, whether it was originally so and rose to the mortal realm, or because of the demon chained to its land - Lady Gotham. Whatever the reason, curses run rampant, and Lady was already weakened by being forced into the mortal realm. Because of this, she cannot do much, but nearly everyone in Gotham is demon-touched in some manner, but some also have inklings of being angrl-touched, some more than others.
The Waynes and Kanes are among the most hell-touched due to their long lineage in Gotham, but there are those Gotham tries to welcome with open arms and, in doing so, warps them to be more demonic than they should be as a newcomer. This does not always turn out well, as the chains on her limit her control
Some who are hell-touched have demonic traits, usually very minor and easy enough to excuse as meta traits if anyone ever asks. Others have much stronger traits, and there's the lucky ones who can morph their form, though they will never fully lose the traits of their demon-blood.
----------
Alfred seems the epitome of a normal butler from the outside, until you realize how unflappable he was towards Gotham's chaos, or hear his tales of being a veteran in years long gone. Perhaps he's yet another demon, right? But no, not even that fits him. And perhaps you'll never be privy to the full truth, but the Waynes and Gotham herself know. Alfred is no mere demon, he is eldritch, from before the world was even a speck in the Creator's eye. And while the children are physically fighting for Gotham, he is there for them, but he is also there for Gotham, spiritually untangling what he can from her.
Bruce Wayne's appearance doesn't seem to relay his ancestry as much as one might think, but his fangs and claws are clear for any to see, as well a his piercing blue eyes, glowing life sulfur flames amidst a backdrop of black sclera. Batman, on the other hand, has stiffly curving horns arcing over his head, leathery bat wings and a sturdy tail, with digitigrade legs and talons, perfect for scaring enemies or for carrying what appears to be his young.
Dick Grayson was never truly one of Gotham's. She certainly granted him care and consideration and treated him as kindly as her curses would let her, but he was never able to accept more than the slightest blessings, if they could be considered as such. He never learned to fly like Batman did, but he became faster and stronger, his only visible demonic traits being nails and teeth slightly sharpened. Even so, he put forth as much effort as the rest of the colony, doing his utmost to help anyone he could.
Barbara may have lost her ability to walk, but that doesn't mean she's defenseless. She still has her claws and horns, and a unique affinity for technology that she's worked hard to hone after what happened to her.
Jason Todd had wings too small for much more than gliding, but his autumn rich curls hid the beginnings of majestic horns, his pale blue eyes shining with a hope few in Gotham could muster. But Robin had augments to his wings, enabling short flight to follow his mentor, at least until his grounding. Gotham could not let go of him for long, and dragged him back herself, but failed to do so completely, watching him be whisked away by Talia. Red Hood never regained his wings, not fully, more bone than flesh, what few feathers left struggling not to fall off. Pain arcs through his body from time to time, but he has a duty to Gotham and her people, one he would willingly choose any day. As for his pit rage, it is the equivalent of eating something you cannot process, as his system already had its fill of demonic energy from Gotham.
Tim Drake was born in Gotham, but his family's adventures dragged him throughout the world until the tender preteens. Before that only, he had been loosely tutored on the travels, but now his parents had deemed public school of importance, and also thought he could help organize their collections when he was not learning. One night, while cleaning up a gallery, he found an artifact he apparently had not put away yet, a statue that Catwoman would find quite fascinating. Upon interacting with it, pain ricocheted through him. When it finally stopped, his form had been twisted. For anyone else the statue would have merely given one the abilities of a cat, perhaps a curse to go with them, but his supernatural features were malleable enough for the power to take advantage of, turning him into a human feline. Eventually, he went to join Batman as Stray, knowing he needed a Robin but not wishing to take the name on himself. Many rogues seemed to think him a child of Batman and Catwoman, and they oft went uncorrected. He likes to perch on his family.
Cassandra is demon-touched primarily through the league and proximity to the pits, but nothing strong enough to truly take root until Gotham welcomed her to her new home. While her features are limited to black sclera and not much else, she is strongest in the ability department, able to literally move through shadows and hide in them at will, though she cannot speak while doing so and it can be hard watching for a shadow signing. Due to her past and being hell-touched, she is a bit stronger than Dick, though not as physically strong as those who grew up in Gotham.
Duke is more angel-touched than the others are, resulting in the enhanced strength of his light abilities and visions. That doesn't mean there isn't demon in him though, it just showcases itself more quietly.
Stephanie may very well have the sharpest claws and fangs of the family, but her razor wit is one of her best attacks depending on who you ask. Her and Cass sometimes seem joined at the hip, and, while their styles are somewhat opposite, they work quite well together.
Damien was created with the blood of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul, grown in a Lazarus Womb. He looks like a tiefling, with skin dark like Talia but tinted the slightest bit red like his father, burning green eyes like Talia but black sclera like Bruce, and the very same Wayne horns and talons that dominate the generations. He does not have wings and it seems unlikely he will ever have them, but that does not stop him in his tracks.

Chapter 1: Prologue the stardust family
Summary:
This is somewhat a mix of Sagau and genshin Cult AU with some isekai elements thrown in for fun. Key - { } translations and pick is time skip/scene transition.
The broke college student started up their third genshin account. “Hmm, who should I choose this time? Ugh, I wish there was a way to choose both! Hmm, maybe I could hack the code in the game and try to glitch it.” They pulled up the source code and started to mess around “Kate Kaslana? I’ve never heard of her.” Trying to click on the code just brought them back to the game it started to glitch and their screen started to warm outward and inward.
They reached toward the screen to see what happened and their hand warped straight through. As they tried to pull out their hand got stuck something, or maybe someone, was trying to pull them inside. “No no no no no! Shit!” They fell through and struck the sustainer of heavenly principles. “I’ll deal with you two later!”  She seals the twins and throws them out.
“Now who do you think you are?”
“Please don’t hurt me! I’m sorry! I was just messing around, I didn’t mean to come here!”
“You insolent little vermin! I should- I should… I can’t even touch you. Fine, I’ll leave you with this then if you want so badly to experience the world then you’ll have to see it through to the end. I can’t have you dying through, there would be no resets for you. So i bestow my immortality upon you. Rest now, for when you wake you’ll have the glory and debauchery which you desire. You’re also getting a makeover, I’ll match you with the stardust twin.”
Tumblr media
Meanwhile in Tevat the twins woke up 500 years after the fall of Khaenri’ah.
“Lu? Surge. Age! Surge!”  {Lu? Wake up. Come on! Wake up!}
(This is Latin, Author-Senpai has made the executive decision that the twins originally spoke Latin [we’ve also decided to be a weeaboo cause this story’s already crack enough why TF not!]<3 as the queen Casey Aonso once said “this is for the Netflix charts, not the art.”)
{What in the dark realms are you doing} 🤍
{Thank goodness you’re okay!} 🖤
{Yeah now get off me stupid!} 🤍
{Okay, wow screw you too. We should find something to eat.} 🖤
{No shit, I’ll look for berries and meat. You try to catch some food.} 🤍
{Alright, I’ll see if I can set up a campfire as well.} 🖤
{Sounds good.} 🤍
Tumblr media
Our hero (you) watches in an almost lucid dream state as the twins meet paimon and they learn the language of the world. Happy tears fall from their eyes as they see the twins laughing and teasing each other and Paimon. “These two are going to be alright. No matter what happens I did it, they can travel together. I just… wish I could go home, back to my friends and family.” They thought.
Over time our hero woke up and looked upon themself in the reflection of the ocean. The sustainer of heavenly principles had given them baggy black pants, a white dress shirt with a black tie, a white zipper hoodie that resembles a dragon with gold sparkles around the top and wrists, black combat boots and fingerless gloves bedazzled with stars. They muse to themself, “This is pretty cute.”
And with that they run after the travelers.

smallishona au mechanics
or, i finally figured out the in-universe mechanics of this persona au! plus some generalized persona mechanics that people may not otherwise know if they don't play persona.
basic premise: the basic premise of this is not based off of any specific persona game, but synthesized from the basic premise of persona 3/4/5. in those games, a group of teenagers discover they have the power of persona, a sort of almost jojo-stand like ability to summon a representation of themselves to fight against shadows, monsters formed from the collective unconsciousness of humanity. they then must travel to another world (broadly, the collective unconscious, although this world has somewhat different mechanics and names in each game), fight shadows, find out why that world is encroaching on our own world, and save humanity from the problems caused by this other world. this normally ends in them fighting god. it is a jrpg and a smt spinoff, after all.
in this SPECIFIC plot, it goes as follows: the 'vanished' is a term referring to people who mysteriously go missing in the middle of their normal routine. this always happens when they are alone, but it can happen at times that are supernatural. these vanishings are being caused when these people, for some reason or another, slip into a realm called 'altered space' and are killed by the shadows there. in order to get to the root of these vanishings, joel and the party must travel through altered space, fight shadows, rescue the trapped people, and determine what's really causing all of this.
joel must do this while also dealing with high school, because, as the protagonist, his powers get stronger the stronger his bonds with other people. these powers--the power to have more than one persona and fuse personas, amongst other things--are the root of many of joel's woes, as the Bit of this au is that joel is the world's most reluctant persona protagonist.
(the more detailed explanations under the cut this gets LONG.)
altered space and the vanished: the manifestation of the collective unconscious that our heroes must travel through in this story. joel (and many others) perceive it as a place you get to by following evil, non-blue butterflies, but interestingly, other people perceive how to reach it differently. the space manifests as a massive, seemingly endless sea of poppies, some of which are wilting and dying. this field is broken up by seemingly collapsed buildings, and while shadows and vanished can be found in the field, more powerful shadows (and more notable people) can only be found inside the buildings.
it is incredibly difficult not to fall asleep inside altered space, and only people with personas are safe from that effect. still, even with a persona, being inside altered space causes a person to grow exhausted much faster than they would in the normal world. the other side of this, however, is that it is nearly impossible to summon a persona in the real world; in altered space, it only takes focusing on your heart and the scar from the first time you summoned it. in the real world you'd probably at LEAST have to stab yourself again.
there is a time limit to save anyone who has become trapped in altered space; if they spend too long there, they will fall permanently asleep and lose themselves forever. this time limit changes depending on who the specific Vanished is, but can be kept track of using the weather (sorry i am stealing persona 4 for this). when the weather gets unusually frigid for the time of year, it is too late to save any vanished in altered space. anyone there must be saved before that.
certain vanished--those with particularly strong feelings of abandonment and loneliness--can warp the buildings they find their way into around themselves. as such, the buildings inside altered space that the vanished are found in can vary wildly, and often reflect the hearts of those inside of them.
indeed, as you may have noted: the vanished, as a rule, are people who feel so alone, they manage to literally lose their grip on reality. a running theme in this au is playing DIRECTLY into the ongoing moral of persona of "you can't do it alone" by saying "in fact, people who are too alone will vanish, since they don't see themselves as 'existing' to other people". as the plot goes on and altered space and the shadows grow more powerful, the amount of loneliness needed to trigger this gets lower and lower, but that's the general theme here. surprise, idiots, the solution was to not be individualists in the first place!
hm. i wonder if this is relevant to our main cast in any way. wink wink.
(persona is not subtle. one of my first impressions of this series was a guy awakening his ultimate persona, satan, and using it to shoot god with a gun. i cannot express enough how unsubtle i can be with the theming here.)
personas and the powers of those who wield them: while personas are the manifestation of someone's heart, they are also a LITTLE bit their own beings. this only comes up occasionally in the persona series, but it will come up sometimes here too, so keep this in mind. another thing that is relevant about personas is that, while in some games this is a subtle element and in some games this is in your face, personas are also the shadow of the wielder. the only difference between a persona and a shadow is that a persona-user has, at least to some level, managed to master their own shadow. however, established in... all three persona games actually but ESPECIALLY in persona 3... is the fact that losing control of yourself can cause you to lose control of your persona to tragic consequences. keep this in mind for later.
personas, since they're also sort of shadows and definitely also manifestations of the collective unconsciousness, take the form of legendary/mythological figures. notably, all of joel's team's personas take the form of "legendary lovers" for their first forms. i say 'first forms', because it is possible for a persona to further evolve, normally at a moment of emotional catharsis for the wielder, when they truly master themselves. this is known as an 'ultimate persona', and its normally stronger than the base form.
in my own au, a persona can initially be awakened only in altered space, and only by someone who is determined not to give in and be forgotten. that person must stab themselves as part of their conviction, although this only happens once; from then on, they can summon their persona through their sense of self, manifesting from the scar from that stab wound, as long as they are in altered space.
a persona's powers work at their maximum level inside of altered space. however, in my au where i can be as self-indulgent as i want, a persona-user CAN technically summon their persona in the real world, it would just take either a moment of supreme will and/or probably stabbing themselves again. additionally, a persona-user's stats start to manifest in the real world as well, ESPECIALLY their HP and SP, since those stats are not inherently tied to the persona itself (thanks, wild cards, for proving this for me). persona-users, as a result, tend to be far more durable than a normal human and have far more energy... although this is a bit of boiling a frog, and it takes a while for them to notice this isn't just a 'fighting shadows' thing. additionally, their abilities also tend to stick with them in small ways in the real world. however, no matter what world they are in, a persona's abilities only work at full power on other persona-users and shadows. maybe this is because a shadow is best at affecting another shadow, and powers inherently born of the unreal/the collective unconscious do not affect the real easily...?
joel is a wild card. unlike a normal persona user, he can switch personas, unlocking new ones both in battle in altered space and by fusing them in the velvet room. these personas also get stronger via his bonds with others. this will all get its own section below.
finally, all persona-users in this world have experienced intense loneliness or isolation of their own at some point; the main difference between them and a vanished is whether or not they managed to grasp themselves despite this isolation. in joel's case, this was because a dam overspilled, collapsed, and destroyed his hometown after the person who was meant to be monitoring it vanished without anyone noticing. each of the other members of the party also have their own relationship with isolation that is explored in the plot and their social links. just awakening to a persona, after all, isn't enough to solve that, and it's important to try to master it in yourself. or else, well... i did say that an out-of-control persona ends tragically.
the velvet room and joel as wild card: as i just said, joel is a wild card/fool. unlike the rest of his team, he will only unlock his ultimate persona at the end of the game, after he has finished traveling through all the tarot and self-actualizing. however, he has a VERY IMPORTANT role: he can switch personas at will, adapting to the situation in order to best use his personas for both combat and bonding with other people. he is the protagonist. he hates this. that is the Bit.
in order to swap between more personas than the number he has room for (normally between eight and sixteen, depending on what level the protagonist is), as well as to fuse personas together to make stronger ones, joel has the assistance of a place called the velvet room. the velvet room is common to every persona game, although it changes form depending on the guest. broadly, it is a mysterious, entirely blue room that exists in a pocket within the collective unconsciousness, between dreams and reality, and can MOSTLY only be accessed by wild cards. (i know that's not how it works exactly in personas 1 and 2, bear with me, we are working off of 3/4/5 logic.) to joel specifically, it takes the form of a yacht traveling across an endless sea of souls.
in every persona game, it is mastered by igor, although igor does not directly describe himself as the master of anything. this mysterious long-nosed man, a servant of another god called philemon that we Will Not Get Into Here He's Mostly Not Relevant, has the power to fuse personas together. he's kind of a creepy-looking and sounding old man, but it's worth noting that igor himself has the protagonist's best interests at heart. igor and his assistant are also the people who tend to know the most about the mechanics of being a persona protagonist, and assist the protagonist in this regard.
assistant? yes! igor has an assistant; in this au it is jimmy. they are always almost white-blonde and have yellow eyes, and wear an entirely blue uniform. they refer to igor as their 'master', all consider each other siblings, are different for each protagonist, and all seem to consider igor someone kind who they appreciate. the assistant has a few roles. the first is to keep track of the compendium, allowing the protagonist to summon any persona they've had in the past for a certain amount of money. the second is to assist the protagonist in their journey and emotional growth. the third is to have a LOT of goofy jokes about not really understanding the human world and i love all of them dearly. these assistants are also definitely not human, but they are often social links themselves, suggesting they might at least have a soul.
in this au, jimmy is joel's hanged man social link. jimmy both tries to help joel understand stuff like "you have to bond with people" and how personas work to some extent, but also is largely discovering himself and the human world through joel. i have Plans for this, it's cute.
only joel can see or access the velvet room, which manifests as a glowing blue door in the entrance to altered space and also in a back alleyway in the real world. to others, he appears to space out or fall asleep standing up when he accesses the velvet room, and attempting to point out that glowing blue door, or even the very real key joel possesses for that door, is futile. rip him.
social links: i've mentioned these a few times; these are the means by which bonds make joel stronger. social links are relationships with people in the real world, represented by tarot cards. joel has a social link for every tarot except for the world, which is reserved for him at the end of his journey. these social links are their own storylines, some tied to the main story, and some separate things that mostly build on themselves that joel has to help with. they 'level up' as joel spends time with these people and grows closer with them.
as one of these special bonds gets stronger, joel gets new abilities. the most baseline of these abilities is the ability to get stronger personas through fusion; growing his bonds directly makes joel stronger in battle as a result. additionally, though, i have decided i like that persona 4/5 also offers mechanical benefits beyond that. as joel levels up his social links with his party members, for example, those party members grow as people and get stronger persona abilities. as joel levels up his social links with non-party members, he may gain things like discounts on gear, new abilities of his own, or general ways to smooth his way in altered space. a maximized social link unlocks the ultimate persona of that tarot, which is incredibly useful.
the bonds you make in the real world help chain you to reality, and in turn, help make you stronger outside of it. hold on to them, wild card. you'll need them.
joel is aware of what tarot each social link is, and diegetically hears the gameplay voice telling him they've leveled up. additionally, he inherently has the knowledge that when he has a persona that matches a person's arcana, he is inherently somewhat more likeable to them and will be able to bond easier. i am sure this will never get to his head at all.
the team/school rescue committee: it existed before joel came around, in a thing i'm stealing from persona 3! grian was the first to summon a persona, and joe hills, a teacher at the school who knows more about this than most people do, managed to find him and start training him. scar joined as well later, but they've been on their own and barely treading water re: saving people from shadows. joel joining enables them to finally start going on the offensive.
as a team, they're... trying. they aren't very cohesive early on, but they're working on it. its awfully lucky that they have a LITTLE guidance and aren't figuring all of this out on their own, although even joe doesn't have a clue why a bunch of the stuff they face works the specific way it does.
their eventual goal is to figure out what the root cause of people starting to fall into altered space is, and stop it.
additional mechanics i didn't have another heading to put under: there's a persona mechanic called "social stats"; they are somewhat different every game, but they represent social skills joel levels up by doing... esoteric things at the best of times, lol. he will have five stats here, which i mostly won't bring up except when it's funny. those stats are charm/courage/academics/kindness/proficiency. in persona games these stats are largely relevant as ways to unlock certain social links and dialogue options, but they're important to max out, so... have fun visiting zedaph's terrifying stir fry stand and taking bizarre odd jobs, joel!
i. do not want to get into skill cards. they exist alright, and beef is the guy who can duplicate/create them. that is all i wish to get into at the moment.
tfc owns an antique shop, because i like persona 3's antique shop mechanics. here, he can make unique weapons/skill cards/items that can be used in battle by using rare materials from altered space. he seems to have vague knowledge of some persona mechanics, although weirdly, they don't exactly line up with how joel's own persona mechanics work. wonder how that happened...?
stuff from altered space can come out to real space. cleo is willing to fence this stuff, although joel has Questions about how she sells some of it for him. well, whatever. it's a good source of money, a thing he is unfortunately always running out of these days, on account of needing to buy everyone weapons and armor. actually, this feels like a scam on cleo's part, given she's ALSO his main source for that. goddammit.
and that's... basically all the base "game mechanics" of this au! i think that's everything that's relevant for now i hope everyone enjoys it!

Thinking of an AU where Charles is manifesting in a random iteration of the house, maybe growing closer to the charlotte there, when suddenly that universe’s anri starts acting strange. And charles just kinda chalks it up to her being jealous or put off by him but it turns out that she’s actually gaining sentience did like Q84’s scarlett did. But since she’s just based off of a true realm character and not actually from the true realm, like scarlett is, she starts having this hardcore existential crisis about all these blurry true realm memories she has but hasn’t actually experienced. Remembering that her best friend is a self insert oc she used to make fun of. Feeling this inexplicable deep affection for the new weird kid whos been hanging around charlotte that she cant place until she realizes that this is the ghost of the guy she used to date. Realizing that the very world around her and the storyline playing out is something she once offhandedly mocked for how tropey and unrealistic it was. I think the hardest part about it would be her recognizing the differences between how she acts in the false realm and the memories she has of herself from Charles, and realizing that she acts totally different than she did in the true realm because the version of her that exists in the false realm is a reflection of what charles thought of her, warped by his insecurities and their miscommunications. I think if she realized how much she’s become a tool of charles’ self hatred then she’d break down sobbing and then try to shank him in the school bathroom.

Season 2 happens then (featuring the new uniforms) and the Crystal Gems have to deal with the three Main Heads- Blue, the Healing Head, Yellow, the Abominations Head, and White, the Empress’s Head. What they learn as the season continues is that, actually, they (and Pink, who was the Plant Coven Head before she ‘died’) are witch hunters. Pink was a born a Witch in the Human Realm, and so her sisters gave up their witch hunting ways to find someplace Pink could be safe… or so they thought. Really, White never gave up being a Hunter, and was just looking for a way to get rid of every witch at once.
What Steven learns at the end of Season 2 is that, first off, he’s a Grimwalker. White made him as a copy of Pink and wanted to use him to test various murder methods on witches, but Pink found out and fled, faking her death. She cut her and Steven’s ears to keep them safe in the Human Realm, but she botched the job a bit. Pink took on the name Rose, fell in love with and married a human named Greg Universe, and died in childbirth with her daughter Nora (who also passed).
Steven does… not take this well.
Tumblr media
And spends like half of Season 3 downright miserable.
But yeah that’s the main summary of the AU! Some additional Notes:
Yellow is the Abominations Head because she created the Cluster.
Peridot takes over as Plant Head after Pink (because Peri’s a farmer). The Other Coven Heads are Nephrite for Beastkeeping (because she was a beast), Lapis for Oracle (because she was trapped in a mirror and I can warp that into a crystal ball), Jasper for Construction (all quartz are Construction, it’s why Amethyst has it), Fable for Illusions (Because obviously), Aquamarine for Potions (idk, she has a wand?? So I guess Potions is the witchiest Coven??) and Pyrope for Bard (I have no clue why)
Bismuth is Raine, because obviously.
Pearl has an Illusions sigil, so that obviously causes problems.

Distortion Guide AU: Cautionary Tale
A good twenty minutes passed in relative silence.
Adaman wasn't too fond of such things. Time was meant to be decorated with life, sound, conversation or song. Or time was meant to be spent getting things done. He cast his gaze about, frowning slightly at the strange angle of a waterfall - falling upwards and continuously into the void above. And glancing down at the rocky path he trod simply presented him with what seemed like dried, blackened plants. "May I have your attention?" A voice finally rang out through the still air, and Adaman glanced up, suddenly. The strange man in white had stopped walking at the very front of their little entourage. He was now looking over his shoulder, silver eyes gleaming.
"What's the matter?" Irida leaned out from behind Adaman, and he jolted. Lost in thought, he'd forgotten how closely everyone had been following behind. Akari was already walking past him, eager to see what their guide had stopped for. And he glimpsed Ingo at the very back, with the strange and shy lantern Pokemon flanking him. It glowed a faint violet in response. "We are getting close to an exit, I believe." Emmet said, tilting his head. The giant eel Pokemon who had hovered at his side had surged ahead in a flash. Adaman stepped forward onto a wider rocky platform, and blinked at the sight. The Distortion Realm had been strange and unpredictable. But Adaman had found it very bereft of life. Deserted, uninhabitable - with dark barren rocks and strange vegetation. He'd wondered how anyone had survived here. Here, he was surprised to see the beginnings of grass and sand on the platform he stood upon. Scattered before them were several rocky platforms with twisted and warped trees - still with brilliant green leaves and deep brown trunks. He saw a few Pecha berries at their base - some had been stretched thin under the distortion. He saw another few waterfalls - except some seemed to be depositing golden sands, which became silver as they rose up into the void. Churning tubes of water spread out around them in what seemed like a colossal net spreading outwards - suspended in the still air. "…There's so much more going on, here." Adaman said, placing a hand on his head. "I thought this place was basically a desert." "Nope!" Emmet said, looking up. "There's places where this realm is barren - but it's the same in the other side of this world, right?" The same… Adaman's gaze drifted again between Emmet, and Ingo who followed from behind to take in the sight. He tried to ignore the slight twist in his gut. "Your attention, please!" Adaman spun, as Emmet performed a full point - almost exactly the same as he'd seen Ingo perform. He was pointing off towards the watery scene before him. Adaman, upon squinting, could see a larger floating rock - trees growing out the sides, and water falling upwards and downwards from several trickling creeks that veined all around it.
There appeared to be an entrance at its base - a cave of sorts. "Places like this are verrry useful." Emmet explained. "Some food, if you need it. And there are many points where we can transfer from here to your home destination."
He looked around. "There are perhaps many ways home, among the waterways. But I believe the cave may be the safest option. There's a floor there, for example!" Adaman frowned. "So, we're just walking past a lot of potential exits?" At his word, the structures before them shifted. The path of rocks seemed to adjust - sinking down into the abyss, while another trail of stones formed towards another platform with a tall and twisted tree. The giant eel Pokemon had reappeared in the process, shooting up from beneath the platform they stood upon. It gave Emmet a quick look, then zigzagged its way to the tree itself, where it hovered. "Please stay behind the yellow line." Emmet said, with a nod. "Onwards!"
Adaman gave a small sigh, as he fell into line behind Emmet. Akari stepped over the rocky path first, silent and observant as always.
The Clan leader couldn't help but wonder if any of this was new to her. "What does he mean by 'yellow line?'" Irida asked from behind him, raising a brow. She was careful as she stepped, frowning at the sand that would inevitably get stuck in her shoes. "I believe it means to remain cautious." Ingo said, trailing after her. "… though as to why there is a line, and why line is yellow, I am unsure." Adaman glanced over his shoulder. "Guess he knows the same strange phrases you know." he said, raising a brow. "Have you noticed that?" The Warden looked up at Adaman. And suddenly, the Clan Leader felt the need to divert the topic - because Ingo suddenly looked rather haunted. More than usual, at least. "… You mentioned this realm being a Mirror World." Ingo said regardless, in a voice too quiet for him. "One that reflects the one we live in." Irida nodded, her face softening after having shot Adaman a scowl (he'd held up his hands in defense). "The old stories we were told were to 'beware one's reflection.'" she said. "If there was something strange about your appearance - in a mirror, in the water - we were told to run. Or else we'd end up in a world where Space had no dominion." "It was Time, for us." Adaman recounted, quietly. "… though, seems as if both were correct." Ingo was silent for a moment. The lantern Pokemon hovered nearby, trilling quietly - Adaman was unsure if it were showing concern, or simply curiosity. "Are you worried Emmet will lead us astray?" Irida asked, stealing a glance in the man's direction (he had stopped in his path to encourage Akari, as she braced herself to take a leap to the next platform). "He may have been helping us so far - but if you're concerned about what his plans may be - "
"That is not the reason." Ingo's voice was sharp. It startled Adaman, the way his gaze grew steely. He quickly glanced in Emmet's direction. The man had turned at the voice, but he didn't seem fazed. He turned back to Akari, nodding as she made it to the next platform. Ingo blinked a couple of times, then seemed to shrink in on himself slightly - as if sheepish about his outburst. "… My apologies, Lady Irida." he said, softly. "I simply… I do not believe he will harm us. That seems…" He seemed to pause a moment, as if going over his thoughts. Instead of continuing on, he drew in a breath. "I am just… uneasy about him." Adaman raised a brow.
"For looking so similar to you?" he asked. Ingo looked at him, with a slight frown. The steeliness had returned in some degree.
"No." he said. "For being trapped in such an unstable place as this." Adaman blinked as the Warden stepped forward past him. He couldn't read Ingo's expression well enough to know his mood. Not that he was familiar enough with the man to really read him to begin with. Adaman frowned. Ingo appeared to have only met Emmet a few hours ago. And yet, he seemed to have no hesitation on trusting the man. But to Adaman, time was what granted familiarity - not the instinct of a mysterious man with holes in his memory. "We need to get him back to safety." Adaman glanced at Irida. Her gaze was firm, at her Warden's back. "Do you trust Emmet?" Adaman asked. "No." The other Clan Leader stepped forward. "I have barely shared any space with him. But I do trust my own Warden." Adaman raised a brow. "Ingo is a smart man. But even you have to notice how much this place is affecting him. You don't think that wouldn't affect his judgement, as well?"
Irida sighed. "That may be so. But even when he finds himself lacking in information, he'd find it very irresponsible to let any of us be led into danger. That seems to be a constant with Ingo." She stepped ahead. And Adaman sighed, continuing along the path of rocky stepping stones. Time would tell, he supposed. The question was whether he would let it. It was when they had all grouped together at the twisted tree, when there was a sudden rumble. Emmet held up a tattered gloved hand. "Emergency brake. We are rerouting again." As he spoke, several of the stepping stone paths seemed to rise away - and others dropped deep into the depths. Adaman watched wide-eyed as the watery tubes seemed to spiral slowly - some bunching neatly in knots, others clashing with a mighty SPLASH. Irida and Ingo stepped back, as a wave of water was suspended in the air - scattering slowly into smaller droplets as it moved. The droplets floated, and began to simply drift aimlessly. Akari stepped forward to the platform's edge, squinting up at them as they seemed to grow and shrink in size. With a small gasp, she pointed at a relatively large one. "What do you see, Miss Akari?" Ingo asked, tilting back the brim of his hat. Within the droplet - or perhaps now a bubble, Adaman thought - was a very familiar scene. Waves crashed against a smooth shore under a blue sky. Spheal rolled about a large piece of driftwood. The distant cry of Chatot could be heard, distorted in the distance. "Cobalt Coastlands." Adaman breathed. The relief he felt at seeing such a place was impalpable. "Ah! A verrry nice destination!" Adaman jumped at how close Emmet's voice had been. He was standing next to him, lifting back the brim of his hat for a brief moment, before placing it back down over one eye. "Verrry pretty. Verrry reflective. I've seen it a few times." Emmet said, with an odd half-smile. "But I have never been there." Before Adaman could tell him to step away a little, Ingo suddenly stepped up next to him. He seemed to marvel at the bubbles floating by. "Water… a reflective surface." he said, thoughtfully. "You don't think… in order to get back home…" "I guess all we have to do is wait until it gets closer." Irida said. "Then we can jump straight in - like at the lake!" At this, Emmet thrust an arm in front of them both. His amiable expression had become fierce. "Stay behind the yellow line." he warned. "This is not a route. This is simply a window." Ingo regarded Emmet a moment, before stepping back. Adaman frowned.
"We got here through the reflection of Lake Verity." he said, firmly. "The water may be a different shape, but it's the same deal, right?" Emmet shook his head. "This is not a door. This is a window. Keep your arms and legs inside the vessel at all times." His gaze sharpened. "It is dangerous. Let us continue." Emmet marched past them, to a waiting Akari and the two Pokemon. The giant eel seemed impatient to get moving, while the lantern seemed incredibly wary of the water. Adaman glanced at Ingo, whose eyes darted back and forth between their Guide, and the bubbles forming from the droplets. Then, the Warden turned and followed after. Irida tersely followed after Emmet, glancing up longingly at the bubbles. Adaman could see why - all of them were reflecting parts of the Cobalt Coastlands. The area seemed to lighten up at their presence, the sun shining through each one into the dim Distortion World. Adaman glanced at the massive rock further ahead - with the cave they were apparently en route to. Dark and foreboding - and further away from the windows to their world than he cared for. He glanced back at the bubbles. One of the smaller ones, just the size of his head, was floating near him, now. A Spheal rolled into view, its beady black eyes looking around as it chirped. Adaman reached out towards the bubble, and the Spheal. Looking back now, Adaman wouldn't be sure what spurred him to do such a thing. Perhaps he sought familiarity. To be back in a world where he didn't feel quite so out of place. His fingers touched the surface of the bubble. "ADAMAN!" … and a massive force suddenly threw him off his feet. He felt his wrist crack back as his outstretched hand was snapped back against his chest. He was thrown clear off the platform as the bubble exploded in a massive burst of light. Terror gripped him as he drifted through the air. There was nothing around him - no rock, no platform, not even a tree or a watery current in his path to catch him. His voice was stolen from him for a few terrible moments as he found himself being flung further away from where he'd once stood. "TROSS!" With a crackle, something wrapped around his waist. And he jerked backwards with the force that now kept him in place. Adaman looked down to see a familiar scaly tail there - finned, and with a yellow pattern seeping up to its body. He looked up to see a maw of teeth, and a glare directed down at him. "Tross…" the pokemon growled. Then, with all the care of one carrying a basket of firewood, Adaman found himself being pulled over to a nearby platform. He was so stunned that he could not tell which way was up (subjectively at least) - and was alarmed when a gloved hand gripped him by the wrist, tugging him and his feet directly to solid ground. The giant eel Pokemon released his waist. Though his legs were seconds from giving out, Adaman wasn't given the opportunity to collapse to the ground. Instead, he was held firm by his upper arm, and Emmet was staring directly at him. His eyes were sharp, and wide. His mouth was hidden beneath his high collar. "Stay behind the yellow line." Emmet said, his voice quiet and upset. The Clan Leader was silent, as their Guide released him. He re-oriented himself, his legs still shaking from the experience - he realised he was back on the platform with the Twisted Tree. Adaman glanced over to the bubbles that floated behind him, and stilled in shock. The Spheal he'd seen before - the one he had reached out to - now lay on its side. It looked stunned and dizzy - an alarmed Walrein had scooted over to gently push the pup rightside up. It gave a small, distressed wail, its side looking injured from the blast. The driftwood nearby had snapped in two. "Adaman!"
"Sir Adaman!" The Clan Leader was slow to turn to face Irida and Ingo's approach. Akari followed after - though seemed more preoccupied with the very frightened lantern Pokemon, who was hiding behind her - seemingly reluctant to let Akari get any closer to the bubbles. Adaman swallowed. "… I'm fine." he said. "Thanks to our Guides, here. Just a bit shaken up." Irida tensed. "Well, thank Palkia that's all you were!" she said, trading her alarm for anger. "What were you thinking, not minding your own space?!" Adaman did not retort. And at that, Irida's expression softened, slightly. He turned to face Emmet.
"I apologise for getting us behind schedule." He said, regaining as much of his composure as he could. "I'll be sure to stay behind you. You know this place better than all of us, it seems." The man in white stared back at him, over his shoulder. Adaman couldn't see his mouth - his wide collar was in the way. He could not tell what expression he had. "… Appreciated." Emmet said, at last. "But save your sorries for the Spheal. Apologise properly. Irreponsible conduct can hurt other fellow passengers, and others in commute." Adaman gave a small glance to the bubbles. He saw the Walrein and a couple of other Spheals gently guide their injured friend away. "… I will." He exhaled, a weight in his chest. "Let's go." The small group didn't move from the twisted tree platform for a while. The rumbling in the distance ceased, and suddenly rocks rose upwards - revealing new paths branching out every which way. Emmet selected a rock, and leapt onto it. "We are resuming our transit! All aboard!" This time, Adaman didn't steal a glance to Ingo at the familiar phrase. Instead, he quietly followed after Emmet, as the giant eel Pokemon surged past to scout up ahead once more.
Silence fell upon the small group again, and Adaman fell back into his thoughts.
Suddenly, he realised that it wasn't just about leaving this place. As much as he wished otherwise, the Clan Leader couldn't bring himself to entirely trust Emmet, yet. The unpredictable nature and tales of the Distortion World were hooked deep into him.
However, this man and his Pokemon had saved his life.
He could not forget that.
But most of all - "Stay behind the yellow line." - he could not forget the haunted look on Emmet's face as he'd spoken, holding onto a wayward passenger's arm as if everything depended on it.

General Ghost Lore
(All information is for the worldbuilding in Vitriol AU)
There are two types of ghosts: Natural and Limbo
Natural ghosts are ghosts that manifested from within the Ghost Zone, from a parental core bond, or from core duplication/asexual reproduction influenced by the Mystic Realm. Limbo ghosts are ghosts that manifest after their past life's death in the Living World. There is no outside factor that determines whether a LW being will come back as a ghost or not post death. It is a 50/50 chance.
Manifestation: Manifestation via the Ghost Zone can randomly happen depending on increase in energy of the environment. From there, a ghost can spawn in with any type category with or without outside factors.
Tumblr media
Manifestation via parent bond is when two ghosts create a strong core bond (romantic or platonic; no matter what gender identity as well) where they swap energies and properties from their cores and mix them together for one parent to carry in their core. From there, the new core forms and manifests into a ghost pup. After manifestation, the parents stabilize the little one's core in order for them to continue existing.
Tumblr media
*The same is applied for a single parent ghost wishing for a pup from the mystic realm. The mystic realm warps the core to duplicate by itself to create the ghost pup.
Tumblr media
One pup is common, twins are uncommon, and triplets are extremely rare. The max amount of ghost pups any ghost can have at once are three.
Core Types: Core types are secondary characteristics for ghosts. There are six core types: Common, Undefined, Ice, Fire, Electric, and Air.
Tumblr media
Common and Undefined types are the common general core types that many ghosts have. They are flexible in terms of additional skill types and powers, common typically reflecting the variety of the Ghost Zone while undefined are a mix of anything goes with more specific power sets. The core types with elemental backgrounds reflect on supernatural hauntings: ice cores being similar to the drops in temperature, cold touches, items being suddenly frozen to the touch; fire cores withing burning objects, people getting random burns, and items bursting into flames; electric cores with technology/devices going haywire, lost signal, static in TVs; air cores with fogs in locations, picking up winds, and random voices in the air. Core types do not have counters to each other. They are only there as secondary traits for the ghosts' powers, but one is not stronger than the other (depending on realm/world).
Maturity Point: Maturity point is when a ghost matures completely in terms of skill set and mindset. People who die as adults and spawn in as limbo ghosts are referred to as "younglings" where they're young ghosts learning the ways of the Ghost Zone. The same goes for ghosts that manifested via ghost zone environment. A sign of maturity point approaching is when signs of a core type begins to appear. From there, ghosts can begin to change their forms to fit their ideal appearance, many going from child to adult . A few ghosts could choose not to go through maturity point and stay as younglings/pups (i.e. Youngblood).
Tumblr media
Ghost pups are the ones that appear as baby ghosts, helpless and unable to do much on their own for the first few days. They can gradually age over time and reach maturity point depending on their pace in advancing skill and mindset. Limbo ghosts of young children can also be referred to as ghost pups.
Energy consumption: Ghosts do not need to eat, sleep, or breathe like humans; some limbo ghosts fall back into those habits due to still having memories of their lives as living beings and would typically drop those habits as time goes on. Halfas would keep these habits as they're half human. When a ghost is weakened, whether from battle, sickness, or stabilizing ghost pup cores, eating food or sleeping is the best way to regain energy. If weakness via battle wounds are too severe where the core cannot self heal, Vita Violets would be involved to speed up the healing process. Blood Blossoms would be used as a last resort if core failure is inevitable.

Ough so many good ideas and no time or patience to write em out but idea for a sorta Swap/Sleeping Isles TOH Au!
Basic idea: what if the Archivist were taken out instead of the Titans?
- okay, maybe that was a little lie, not all the archivist are dead and gone
-but most are.
-still sorta takes place on the titan's body, however we are Xenoblading the shit out of this
-while the boiling isles still exists, it's mid fight/killing a giant Archivist, who locked them in a spell mid kill. Perhaps they are both frozen in time/preserved, or asleep, hence 'sleeping isles'.
-neither of them will ever wake up.
-where their bodies make contact is a warp, likely made by titian blood and archivist magic constantly having an explosive reaction with one another
-the archivist's body isn't 'visible' immediately, or it looks wildly different outside that it does inside.
-entering the warp leads to the demon realm or the dreaming/haven realm.
-haven realm looks real similar to the boiling isles under collector's rule at first.
-the further you go from the Archivist's warp to other places like the 'Archivist's Mind, Heart, Soul, etc' the more wildly different it looks. Kinda based on Mira and the different sky islands of Baten Kaitos.
-the Mind looks like a psychedelic whimsygoth alien world fever dream
-Heart a valentine's day cupid's cloudy wonderland (kinda like diadem in baten kaitos)
-Soul probably looks like a straight split between night and day with endless shallow water that reflects the sky like a mirror
- (these could later change)
-archivist/titian war is at a standstill effectively with both King and Collector missing/being held hostage in the other's realms.
-witches and demons live in both reams and their counterparts are likely sorcerer and angels/fae (although it's theorized they're the same species or sup species of each other, but use different identities)
-Luz is sill the MC, however instead of just wanting to be a witch she wants to learn from both realms and bring em together like in her books.
- Collector is older than Canon, but not by much, maybe around Luz's age or a smidge older (16-18?) Surpresses his more joyful and happy go lucky/playfulness under a boat load of trust issues, wariness that borders on paranoia, and being mean/teases a lot in on purpose to protect himself.
-Was imprisoned for a while, but was tossed between different hands as a mirror and used for their own purposes. When he was finally freed by mistake by a cult member using titian's blood he ran and went into hiding. He can't breach the warp back into the Dreaming Realm and is stuck in the demon realm on the run trying to avoid capture.
-Highkey traumatized after seeing countless of his kin and siblings turned to mirrors and later shattered without remorse by cultist. Also viscerally aware that they're on a corpse of both a titian and their eldest siblings with no way of waking them up. Kind of in denial and wants to find a way to fix them.
-KING on the other hand. Woof. Got egg snatched and then dropped when the archivist that had him was taken out. However he still got dropped in the Dreaming.
-been hunted down relentlessly by cultists, he's just a baby y'all...
-later discovered by Belos and hidden/imprisoned in secret from both the remaining Archivists and Titans.
-Yeah Belos is still here.
-Hes a cult leader, not an emperor. Because there are still some titans he can't do the whole will of the titan nonsense.
-Caleb falls for a witch, per usual, Belos looses it, but when he arrived to the Haven, more specifically the most angelic/heaven like part of it, he mistakes it as actual heaven. Or believes it a sign from god's esp with the more 'angelic' looking Sorcerers.
-Is hell bent on wiping out the demon realm soon to cleanse his brother, but also takes out whatever doesn't fit his perception of paradise from the Haven.
-Archivists take note of this and decide not to take him out bc they want to use him. Seeing as he can cross into the Demon Realm and they can't. So they pose as capital G god or the archangels to get him to do their bidding and indulge his delusions.
-starts a cult in the Haven that wants to destroy the villainous and evil Demon Realms, and seeing his connection to the Archivist's gets the alliance/attention of the Titan trappers.
-the boiling isles has its own cult, or faction that just wants to get rid of the collector or use him to wake up the titan or blame him for their issues. It doesn't help that he antagonizes/attacks anyone on sight to protect himself.
-Eda's trying to to find a cure for herself/explore and learn magic from wherever to be the strongest witch in both worlds. Unwillingly works for Belos because she's trying to keep Lilith safe and biding time to break out King somehow.
- he threatens to send his cultist after Lilith and destroy her life's work.
-she blames herself for getting Lilith under his sights. As he already made an example of her by framing her for being a Collector sympathizer in the demon realm, painting a target on her back when Eda refused. Even before she actually was a sympathizer.
-Lilith didnt actually see there was more to the story before she was ostracized and forced to reexamine her world view
- Lilith, a historian wants to find out the truth to war and find a way to end it, or at least have better grounds than a small ceasefire. Because being able to find peace and learn the history to both worlds is how she understands how it happened at all, and maybe get access to magic from both to cure and find Eda.
-bc of her status as a sympathizer and and outsider, Collector hears this, and checks her out outta curiosity and a bit of hope to find a way home. He comes and goes, still suspicious and weary but listens to her talk history and her theories.
-genuinely scared when meeting him and what to expect of the terrifying eldritch Archivists, Lilith hold back and tries to understand him for more knowledge and not let her fear cloud her vow to seek the truth. She comes to see them as a little kid and promises that they'll both get to see their families somehow.
-they teach her his favourite games and bonds but refuses to show her his magic or tell his history bc he was forced to help others and taken advantage of before.
-more of a close teacher-mentor, or age gap friendship than parental, since they both want to get their families back and are working together. (Kinda)
-bc Luz is human and so different/joyful to be around, and indulges him by playing games and showing him new things Collector gets very attached to Luz. Despite being older they still act like a younger sibling most of the time. But he's protective of her, not wanting her to be exposed to the ugliest side of the war. Or be hurt by cultists.
That's all I have for now still in development. But I'll take any ideas and add ons for consideration is people wanna help build on this!

While traveling a few months ago I started thinking about parallels between Danny using the ghost catcher and Elktaur from Centaurworld and came up with a new AU
Tumblr media
NowhereKing!Danny AU
Details:
Standard DP origin story (activates portal, becomes halfa, fights ghosts, ghosts considered both evil and non-sentient by his parents)
Meets Val, still wants to date her despite her wanting him dead as Phantom
Danny and Val grow closer, they start dating
Danny's self hatred starts to grow, blames his ghost half for making him something Val would hate if she knew, plans to find a way to get rid of it
Finds the ghost catcher in the lab, uses it, but instead of getting rid of Phantom both Fenton and Phantom still have all of Danny's memories
Phantom feels betrayed by Fenton, who demands Phantom leave and then goes on to date Val without his other half
Fenton becomes a ghost hunter with his parents and Val, part out of self-hatred towards Phantom, part out of his continued sense of responsibility to stop all the ghosts from coming through
Phantom shows up to confront him and tries to convince Fenton that they should merge back together, Fenton refuses and shoots Phantom
The two are still linked, so it hurts both of them
Realizing he can't hurt Phantom or leave him to get hurt by someone else, Fenton traps him in a thermos and keeps it hidden
Years later Val discovers the thermos and opens it, is shocked Danny kept the capture of her mortal enemy secret from her for so long
Seems off, begins to suspect there's more going on than it appears
Lets Phantom go, tells him to escape through the FentonWorks Portal
Fenton finds out Phantom is free and pursues him, Val chases after him for answers
Phantom, Red Huntress, and three Fentons (everyone but Jazz) all end up in one basement with an active portal
Phantom shot, tries to flee through portal
Jack shoots at him, misses but hits portal instead and it explodes
Phantom trapped halfway through portal, in void between Ghost Zone and Human Realm
Time is different in void, ages pass as injured and alone phantom warps and adapts to survival in abstract space
For extra plot, Val gets sucked through portal by explosion, gets character growth in the Ghost Zone
Where are Sam, Tucker, and Jazz? What will they do when they find out what happened to Phantom? What about Dani or Vlad?
If Fenton/Phantom link works differently then Phantom could go through Nowhere-King-creating Trauma at the hands of the GIW
Or Fenton could turn him over to Vlad with the safety net of blackmail to make sure any experiments wouldn't come back to hurt him, in which case cloning, fusing/splitting people/ghosts, etc. are possible to go with The Nowhere King's minotaurs
This stuff could lead to a scenario that matches the Nowhere King better in that people wouldn't want to open the portal and risk letting him out

So naïve...
Pairing: Felix Lee x Reader Fairy AU Genre: Angst; Horror (if you squint) Words: 1197
Masterlist | Fictober Masterpost
Taglist:  @soobin-chois
Tumblr media
Tucked away in the shadows of the attic, a dusty car sat in a box of old toys. Its paint had faded some and the wheels no longer turned, but what made it special was the tiny fairy trapped within.
Fairies are rather fragile creatures, with delicate wings and reliant on the laughter of children to thrive.
But Y/N had become twisted. Her wings, once like fine lace and the envy of other fae, had wilted and warped. They had thickened into a leathery texture and darkened from their original opalescence into a swirl of sickly greens and browns. Her eyes, once playful and joyful, were a storm of melancholy and malevolence; her mood swinging wildly with pain, wrath, and hatred.
She had been bound to a stupid toy car by an ancient enchantment, a punishment for betraying the realm of the fairies over her love of a human boy. A human that later, also, turned on her and left her to fend for herself.
Since being stashed away, her every thought had been consumed by a thirst for revenge against either the fae realm that had cursed her to such a wretched, lonely existence or the family of the human that had pushed her to betray her own kind. Preferably both.
Confined to the small, lifeless world of the toy car and without access to love or attention—the bane of any fairy’s existence—Y/N had nearly rotted away.
It was when Felix entered the attic, his curiosity piqued by his parents’ insistence not to rifle through his ancestors’ old heirlooms, that Y/N felt hope again.
She had spent decades concocting her plan, after all. All she needed was someone naïve enough to take her little car out of this place. To care for it.
So, she bewitched him, using a bit of magic and allure she drew the freckled boy in like a moth to a flame.
And it worked.
Thinking nothing of why he felt so drawn to the box of toy cars, Felix took them from his parents home.
🎃
As Felix held the little blue bus up to the sun, investigating it curiously, Y/N was enacting the first step of her plan. He was kin to the wretched human that helped put her in this predicament, so he would have to pay. And to do that, she first used his own naivety against him.
With him touching the cursed object, she was easily able to bind them together. He would never be rid of her or the bus. Even if he didn’t fall for the rest of her plan, which she really doubted would happen, he would be forever bound to her. And she would assure his life would be hell.
The binding didn’t take long, but Felix noticed. To say he was baffled by the faint glow and whispers coming from the little bus in his hand would be an understatement.
And then he spotted her.
She glamoured herself to appear as beautiful as she once did, and Felix let out an astonished gasp. “Who are you?” He whispered as she slathered on a sickly sweet smile.
“I’m Y/N,” she waved at him cautiously and then pouted for good measure, “I’m trapped in this little bus. I’ve been cursed by evil fairies for eternal torment…”
Felix was filled with amazement at seeing the little creature. He’d never believed the kid’s stories his grandparents told him could be true, but here was living, breathing proof. There was a part of him that panged in sorrow for the poor thing’s suffering too, but an even smaller piece of his subconscious warned him against being too trusting.
Unfortunately for Felix, and fortunately for Y/N, he didn’t listen to the tiny voice telling him to be cautious of a fairy.
They couldn’t lie, right? And she was trapped, so what harm could she really do? That’s how Felix rationalized spending days upon days carrying around the little toy and spending late hours into the night telling her all about his life and dreams and listening to her talk about her home.
“I miss it, y’know,” she sighed wistfully, twirling a lock of hair around her tiny fingers. “I haven’t seen the flower fields in years… Oh! And the stars… You can see them, even during the day!” Y/N exclaimed, adding a little giggle, “Your cute freckles remind me of them though, so at least that helps now.”
Felix spent those days falling in love with the wicked, little fairy, and Y/N spent those nights finetuning her plan to betray him and destroy her “beloved” home.
“Can’t you go back?”
Y/N sighed mournfully, “I would love to… I want to touch the moonlight rays and feel the misty breeze beneath my wings again. But, like I’ve told you… I’m trapped in here.”
Felix huffed, “There must be a way… Isn’t there anything I can do to help?”
Y/N felt a burst of glee. He had fallen for her ploy. Hook, line, and sinker.
“Well…” Y/N began softly, “there might be. I’ve heard that a human who captures and truly cares for a fairy is able to break curses on them…”
Felix, on the other hand, felt desperate to help the beautiful, charismatic fairy. He had squashed the subconscious fear of the unknown creature and replaced it with a childlike dream that, once freed, they would be together somehow. Love conquers all, after all.
“The power of love…” Felix breathed out. “You just tell me what I need to do, and I’ll do it!”
“You just have to wish for me to be free, Felix. We need natural water, and for you to make your wish with pure intent.”
🎃
The next morning, Felix found himself wading into the lake with the little toy bus.
“And you’re sure this will work?”
She smiled, “It’ll work like a charm~”
Felix’s eyes closed when Y/N instructed that he was deep enough. As he made his wish for her freedom, he felt his heart begin to race. It felt like his soul was being sucked away; his entire being pulled down.
Y/N snickered, the little tinkling of her laugh sounding bigger and bigger and more sinister.
That tiny subconscious thought that the fairy wasn’t to be trusted was screaming at him now, and he tried to drop the bus, but found he couldn’t. He felt too compelled to hold tightly to the toy. He felt bound.
Y/N’s snickers turned louder; she was cackling. Felix’s eyes snapped open seeing the four walls of a faded blue metal toy surrounding him. Peering through the bits of plastic windows, he saw Y/N in full size and glory.
Her bat-like wings stretched behind her, crooked smile sneering at the little toy now in her hand. Her aura seeped inky blackness, bleeding into the water and poisoning the air around her.
He had freed her. She never lied that his love would do that. She just omitted the truth that the curse required one of their bloodlines to be trapped.
“Thanks for that, angel, “ She spat with a twisted smile. “So naïve…”

PRINCESS TUTU AU OF DANNY PHANTOM I am experiencing severe brain rot.
(btw I'm using "lady" and "king" gender neutrally. Ghost genders are fluid as hell, just like ectoplasm.)
--
Among the living, the story of "The Lady Phantom and The Crown" is largely regarded as a classic fairytale, despite it not being as well known as certain stories like those by the brothers grimm or Aesop. Generally, the story goes as follows:
Long ago in the infinite realms, there was a crown with great power that chose a ruler for the realms that would lead it to prosperity. The crown was passed from king to king, guarded and guided by a spirit beyond ancient; The Lady Phantom. Some rumors and myths say they and the crown were both born from the same ectoplasm. Others say that they made the crown. As the Ancients began to rise, they claimed The Lady Phantom as one of their own, swearing to aide them in their eternal mission of the crown.
One day, a new king was chosen, Pariah The Dark. Chosen to lead his people through terrible conflict to a greater peace, he did well in the beginning, but conflict warped his purpose, and he became lost in his wrath.
The Ancients convened, and agreed to remove the crown from Pariah to find a more hopeful king. The Lady Phantom would be the one to retrieve their crown just as they had before, but Pariah had different plans.
In a fit of rage, he shattered the crown into many pieces, and scattered them across the infinite realms. In a burst of light, The Lady Phantom was gone, and The Ancients sealed away Pariah in his eternal prison of slumber.
The story ends with a promise that one day, The Lady Phantom would return to mend the broken crown and bring a new king to the infinite realms.

Danny fenton was struggling, majorly. Between his ballet practice, his homework, and making sure he and jazz actually had something to eat for dinner while his parents worked away in their lab, he was very much struggling.
Of course, his two best friends did their best to help out. Tucker helped with most of his homework, and Sam made sure he had some cash to spend on money (no matter how much he insisted he didn't really need it), and they both stayed with him when he did extra practice. It was nice, their little routine.
His parents wouldn't stop going on and on and ON about their ghost portal. It probably wouldn't work, their stuff has basically been entirely theoretical until now, but he just wanted it to be over so maybe they'd take a break and remember their kids.
It didn't work, obviously. The portal didn't even get past the "powering on" stage. Whatever. Sam wanted to go look at it and get some cool pictures for her photography class, so he was gonna bring them to the lab while his parents were off sulking.
-
HE DIDNT EXPECT IT TO ACTUALLY TURN ON.
Especially not with him IN it.
The pain was horrible, blindingly horrible, intense enough his brain was processing sensation seconds, minutes after they happened.
And then it was gone.
And he was floating in some starry abyss, with a shard of light dangling in front of him, singing so sweetly.
He reached for it.
'Hello'
He brushed a knuckle across the surface.
'Phantom'
It was cool to the touch, like metal.
'Lady Phantom'
It drew back.
'Our Lady Phantom'
It pierced into his chest.
-
"-DANNY!"
He could feel the convulsions of being electrocuted finally ebb away, and his senses came back ringing and burning but all still (mostly) working.
Florescent lights glared above him, rigid cold tile below him, scalding hot hands pressed against his face, arms, neck, wrists, chest.
Another few minutes and he could finally press the air in his chest out and push himself onto hands and knees. He felt-
Holy hell he felt dizzy and raw and so so sick.
His vision stopped swimming after several more minutes.
"Why am I in a ballet costume?"
---
Yeah these are just my at-the-walls ramblings. Princess tutu au! The idea is that, like how duck could transform into a storybook character with a piece of mythos heart and had to find all the other pieces, danny can transform into an ancient spirit with a piece of the crown and has to find all the other pieces.
Yes he is in a tutu, yes he does get called "The Lady Phantom" a lot. It's weird for him in the beginning but he gets a lot more used to it when he realizes how little care there is about gender norms in the ghost zone. Danny is still very much A Guy, just A Guy in a tutu.
Amity Park is much less "Oh yeah thats a guy" about Lady Phantom, unfortunately.
Anyways let guys wear tutus and dance the Lady parts in ballet I wanna see it.

There are a pair of stories that Fazbear Entertainment tells, stripped from context and plunged into a fantastical realm. The boy, his mother, and a monster, and a witch, a woman, and a boy.
Let me be the one to show the other side of these stories.
The boy is actually a girl who would know that the story was about her if words were not warped to make the caricature of her plight unrecognisable, and the same goes for her father. And the monster in the basement was not some physical beast, no, but a part of the girl's mind that had to be given time to acclimate to a civilian world: not a monster, but a scared beast that did need to be kept away until it knew that she wouldn't have to fight the world to survive. So when she heard it sing the lullaby that her dad always sings, she knew it was safe to work in tandem with the beast within.
And as for the witch, the witch used to be a princess, but found a different calling after enduring the darkest horrors, leaving her kingdom in the more capable hands of the squire and younger princess who saved her. And the 'girl' in this story was a mean old wizard, and what a naughty monster that man was, as this was the mean old wizard who became the monstrous blight at the centre of the princess's castle and had trapped her for so long. And this witch only eats naughty monsters. The naughty monster had overpowered the witch back when she was a princess. It took the younger princess and squire freeing her to let her attempt to drive him out of this world and obliterate him, yet the attempt merely left him with deep scars. But when he tried to plight her again after she had taken to living in relative safety now that she was known as the golden witch, she had 'a young boy', not the squire who saved her but our little girl with a beast within from the last story, lure the naughty monster about and lead it into a trap. And with the wizard trapped, the witch could finally obliterate the naughty monster and contain his soul within her body as a human prison so that he may never harm the kingdom again.
And for those wondering about what happened to the girl with the beast within after? It's simple really. The former princess's friend entrusted her with a duty similar to thier own; the duty to hunt down naughty monsters and obliterate them. A duty she is more than happy to fulfill.
And a target is already in her sights; a naughty monster who is cladding itself in the obliterated wizard's robes.
