my One Big Hope for season 2 of arcane is that they really, and i mean really lean into the horror aspect i want the scene with singed time ten and then crank that shit to eleven, we have an incredibly unstable and powerful Jinx, War-fucking-wick, how much more do you need? i want jumpscares, i want tension, i want gore, how much easier can you make it? all the pieces are there on the table you just gotta fit em into the puzzle

I think that so far my theory is getting some factors right, but one thing is for sure, if there really is a parallel with ep 1 involving the 3 again, it might not end very well...

CONV/RGENCE: A Bad League of Legends Story
League of Legends itself has always been a pretty poor vehicle for story delivery. If you want to follow the adventures of Caitlyn and Vi, the most you'll ever get from League is That Time They Beat Up A Bunch Of People On The Rift, parts 1-436, which, as Arcane has demonstrated, isn't exactly a substitute for more focused, narrative content.
Recognizing this, Riot inaugurated the Riot Forge publishing label which has been putting out smaller games by independent developers aimed at plugging those gaps in storytelling in the Runeterra universe. And they've been mostly successful! Ruined King was good, The Mageseeker was downright excellent, Hextech Mayhem was fluffy but fun, and Song of Nunu looks set to be an absolutely adorable platforming adventure.
But... there had to be a miss sometime.
CONV/RGENCE is a particularly frustrating game as a fan of the League of Legends champions, because while there's a solid, fun core game hidden in there, it is constantly struggling with and let down by all the League of Legends stuff it's got bolted onto it. The mandatory cameos are weak at best and active sabotage of the story at worst, and it comes at the cost of the game's own characters and storyline which could be so much stronger if the game didn't constantly have to service an IP which, frankly, it doesn't seem that interested in engaging with.
Let's discuss.

Viktor, Jinx and Warwick getting up to important season 2 activities. Was discussing their team-up and couldn't help imagine how the dynamic would work.

A month or two after Arcane's season finale premiered, LoL released this Arcane themed commercial and it gave weird vibes. The commercial aired in Brazil or at least released on LoL's BR twitter and it was animated sort of like a 90s shounen opening, where two opposing groups run at eachother in a wide camera shot in large grass field. On one side were Piltover characters while the other side was for Zaunites. Weird thing was, they put Ekko on the Piltover side with Vi, Jayce, and Caitlyn, while the Zaun side had Jinx, Singed, Warwick, and the Machine Herald. I swear it's real, I just can't find it anywhere, but people on League Twitter would use it for their banners or whatever.
I still remember it because the promo low-key annoyed me for placing Ekko was on Piltover's side. On one hand, I liked that I saw the Viktor and Warwick with Jinx (grasping for scraps), but then I find another example of Riot making Ekko more sympathetic to Piltover. It's just annoying because yeah, it's not like the commercial and Arcane had the same writers, but neither does LoR and they get the general flavor of Arcane's dynamics to add to the game. I just wish I could find it again to know if they really used the Arcane designs.
