For your prompt thing--Jonsa and numbers 17 + 25 please!
Tumblr media
@estherruth-jonsatrash you sent me this prompt AGES ago!
17 + 25: Mob + sex then love
I had the idea immediately, but I did not have the knowledge nor the skill (I still don't). Either way, I finally have a first chapter to give you (of 4...I think. Don't quote me on that), with hopefully the second coming fairly soon. It's mostly written as well.
Here you go!
And a teaser below the cut (full chapter on Ao3):
If it weren’t December, Sansa would roll her window down and embrace the stench of lower Manhattan over the cloying scent of mint and cloves, but she’d left her coat at home. Petyr was taking her to the club and it was next to impossible to get the smell of smoke out of suede. She’d have to hang the coat from her fire escape and risk the girls from 12B stealing it. Last month, she’d run into Shae on their narrow stairs, leaving the building in her yellow plaid jumper; the one with an S that Sansa had embroidered on the pocket. She hadn’t breathed a word of protest though. Without Shae and Gilly’s help navigating her new, limited independence, she’d have already locked herself back in Petyr’s gilded cage.
“This isn’t the way to the Water Gardens,” she observed, turning from her window to glance at her would-be keeper. He sat leaning against the opposite door, watching her. He was always watching her. Lyn was driving the Continental south on Lafayette when he should have been headed north, and she had more than a passing suspicion they were making for the Brooklyn Bridge.
“I hate your hair like that,” Peytr said, his eyes traveling down from her halo of kinky curls to land, with considerable more appreciation, on her gold lame mini-dress. She’d spent four precious hours wrapping her hair in foil to achieve the effect; four hours when she could have been catching up on sleep or practicing her shorthand. She didn’t care what Petyr thought. She loved her hair, and it was Oberyn Martell she was aiming to impress. “You look tired. You should quit that silly job at Bonwit Teller.”
That silly job paid her rent, she wanted to remind him, but then he’d only argue for her to quit her studio apartment in the Village and live with him again, and she couldn’t do that.
They started across the bridge, and she huffed, crossing and uncrossing her legs in agitation.
“You’re taking me to a fight.”
“Don’t fret. I just need to see about a match. We’ll be back in Manhattan before Oberyn blows through his first 8-ball. You don’t want to seem desperate, do you?”
A bit late for that, she thought, clasping her fingers in her lap, looking down the long expanse of skin to her gold leather stilettos. Her mother would roll over in her grave. “Of course not, Petyr. You know best.”
“That’s why I’m your manager, doll.” From uncle, to legal guardian, to manager, to what next? It was a question that kept her up at night, but what could Sansa do? Rickon and Bran were still his wards, and he controlled all of her money; all but what she earned selling lipstick at the Bonwit makeup counter five days a week.
“I just hate the fights. You know that.”
“We’ll be in and out before the match even starts.”
It was an old, tired lie.

Decades Challenge 1301-1310
My founding family was, the Faremanne family.
Family Tree - Likely contains spoilers if you're not caught up.
Gerard Helewyse, "adopted" the Faremanne orphans when their parents died, they were still very young. When Gerard discovered he was dying, he paid for the wedding of his only living daughter, Peronell, to the oldest of the Faremanne children. With no male heir, he needed her to married to guarantee she could remain on the family property and would be taken care of. Peronell and Arthurius Faremanne had been close since they were toddlers, and childhood sweetheart, so naturally getting married was just a next step. They were married in 1298.
Tumblr media
[Shown above back to front, left to right; Arthurius & Peronell Faremanne, Humpherus Faremanne & Tille Faremanne]
Starting in 1301, Arthurius Faremanne and Peronell Helewyse were about 17 years old. Carring for his younger siblings, was a challenge, but Arthurius had always been a talented woodworker and it kept him busy and the funds from being depleted. Peronell tended to the siblings needs and her garden the best she could. Although, they were not completely destitute, they mainly survived on gruel. Arthurius was loyal to Peronell, especially as he was often to distracted with his woodworking to even leave home. Their marriage provided them with 4 pairs of twins, eight children in all:
(Twins) Henfrey Arthurius & Helena Peronell,
Tumblr media
(Twins) Mirabelle Ellice & Myles Wyon,
(Twins) Roland Perote & Roesia Adelin,
(Twins) Wenefreda Jossy & and Warnerus Barnaby.
Tumblr media
Of their eight children, 5 survived the 1300's and lived into 1311. [Shown above, from left to right; Roesia A., Henfrey A., Peronell (Holding Wenefreda J.), Mirabelle E. & Helena P. Faremanne.] Arthurius died in 1306 before the birth of his youngest twins.
Tumblr media
[Shown above back to front, left to right; Willard, Emelyne, Ioette, Madeline, and Peytr.]
Tumblr media
Arthurius's best friend, Willarde Lambard was married at the very beginning of 1300 to Emelyne Stroude. She was very young when they married, but it was to save her family property, as she and her twin sister were the only children of her father's line to survive. Willarde and Emelyne didn't woohoo until a few years later, after which she fell pregnant quickly. She gave birth to triplets, but unfortunately died from blood loss. (Triplets) Bartelemi Willarde, Britius Ernoul, Besseta Emelyne Lambard. Of her triplets only two survived birth, Bartelemi, & Besseta.
Tumblr media
Arthurius's brother, Humpherus, married Emelyne's sister, Madeline Stroude shortly after his 16th birthday and the following year they had a daughter, Linet Madeline Faremanne. Unfortunately his wife didn't survive the birth. Immediately, he brought on a nanny, Ioette, to care for his infant daughter. She seduced him and fell pregnant within the year. To keep his family name clear from scandal, he married her right away. When Humpherus lived with Arthurius and Peronell, he found little interested him and mostly he overslept while contributing little to nothing to their household. Shortly before he moved away he found a job in manual labor which he really enjoyed.
Ioette constantly accused Humpherus of cheating on her and despite having raised, Linet, it became clear that Ioette was jealous of the attention and affection Humpherus gave Linet. The shear mention of his deceased wife would send Ioette into a rage. Completely unwarranted behavior asside, Humpherus was faithful and loved Ioette, until the day she died. They had two children together, Theobald Humpherus & Ilbert Dain Faremanne.
[Shown below left to right; Ginger, Tillie (Holding Rex P.), Ilbert D. Faremanne, Peytr (Holding Linet M. Faremanne), Theobald H. Faremanne.]
Tumblr media
Arthurius's sister, Tille, lived with Peronell until she married Willarde's brother, Peytr Lambard. Their relationship had some ups and downs before it even really got started, but overall they seem happy and just welcomed their first child, Rex Peytr Lambard. Hempherus died just after their son was born, which added to the challenge of raising his children along with their newborn. When Tillie lived with Arthurius and Peronell, she became a proficient painter and knitting was one of her other favorite things to do. She was very helpful with the housework during Peronell's pregnancies. After Arthurius's death, Peronell adopted a puppy named Ginger for Tillie to help her process her grief. It also helped Henfrey, Helena & Mirabelle children before Tillie moved out.
Peronell re-married two years after Arthurius's death. She married his, best friend, Willarde. She needed support for the kids and he had a significantly larger property to raise the children on. Willarde still wanted a male heir, since both of the boys from his triplets had died leaving him with only his daughter, . Peronell fell pregnant in the end of 1310, and the pair are waiting with anticipation for a new arrival.
Tumblr media
[Shown above left to right; Helena P., Willarde Lambard (Holding Besseta E. Lambard), Mirabelle E., Peronell (Holding Wenefreda J.), Henfrey A., & Roesia A..]
Henfrey A. Faremanne made his way through toddlerhood and his parents had a good enough influence on him to help him earn the good trait.
Helena P. Faremanne wasn't quite as happy with her toddlerhood. Having so many babies in the family made the house crowded and loud which drove her a little crazy and earned her the trait, evil. Despite their different personalities, Henfrey and Helena are managing to stay friends for the moment. However, Roesia is onlt a toddler and she already despises Helena.
Mirabelle E. Faremanne had her 6th birthday in 1310, and really has an obsession with cats, which is why she had the cat lover trait. Unfortunately, with the number of sims in their household, her mother doesn't think having a cat is responsible as tomorrow they might not be able to feed themselves.

Founder: Arthurius Faremanne 1284-1306
Heir apparent: Henfrey A. Faremanne 1306-

“ i can't talk about it. not tonight. “ / @pagetorn
Tumblr media
he never can. kaz is a man of few words — it seems especially when she needs them most. gaze is cast upon him from where she sits, her usual perch in his window: one knee is to her chest, the other stretching the expanse, before golden eyes turn to fix instead upon the cobble of stone street rather than the man, the lauded & feared bastard of the barrel, who sits at his desk a fair distance from her. to her, though, he is neither of those things. not here, not within these walls of his office. here, he's not kaz brekker or dirtyhands. here, when it is just them, he's just a boy: & for a moment there's a lining of silver hope which fills her.
Tumblr media
"you could." she notes finally, feeling a fluster of wind travel through the worn walls of the slat: with it carries the familiar dreaded stench of the streets. gravity sets in, the silver corrodes. "you only choose not to." fingertips brush against sankta peytr, the very knife he himself had gifted what feels like a lifetime ago. "even with me."

There were a lot of choices D&D made and one of them was to split up Catelyn’s arc/symbolism between her daughters. And to an extent this decision made sense. I mean I hated it because it threw out Book!Arya’s whole arc about mercy and revenge vs justice, but that plot had been thrown a way a while ago anyway, so it wasn’t a huge loss. Lady Stoneheart wasn’t there and someone had to kill House Frey. Might as well be Arya since her arc wasn’t really going anywhere anyway (don’t tell me her leaving made sense, a one off comment doesn’t equal good foreshadowing). I can understand that.
What I cannot understand is why they gave Cat’s Jenny of Old Stones symbolism to Sansa. And not in a Sansa-stole-her-plot way...just in a this doesn’t really make sense way. Book!Sansa’s fiction (fictional-fictional?) counter part is Jonquil while Cat has Jenny (and Arya has Nymeria). In the show they keep giving Sansa the dragonfly imagery which could hint back to the Prince of Dragonflies which makes sense because growing up Petyr pretended to be Cat’s Prince of Dragonflies.
“We're all just songs in the end. If we are lucky." She had played at being Jenny that day, had even wound flowers in her hair. And Petyr had pretended to be her Prince of Dragonflies. Catelyn could not have been more than twelve, Petyr just a boy.” - Cat V, ASoS
And book-wise this is an interesting little connection between Arya and Cat since Arya meets a woman who may have known Jenny.
“The dwarf woman studied her with dim red eyes. "I see you," she whispered. "I see you, wolf child. Blood child. I thought it was the lord who smelled of death . . ." She began to sob, her little body shaking. "You are cruel to come to my hill, cruel. I gorged on grief at Summerhall, I need none of yours. Begone from here, dark heart. Begone!” - Arya VIII, ASoS
Show-wise this means absolutely nothing. It’s not even a parallel to Cat and Sansa because Cat doesn’t bring up pretending to be Jenny.
And what is so strange to me is that of what we know about Jenny, hers is a really sad story. One thing the show did right was the song about Jenny, its super beautiful and just as sad. Its about a woman who is so tormented by what happens she is basically driven mad by it. That’s so sad.
But what on earth does it have to do with Sansa Stark?
For book!Cat this parallel makes sense. All Lady Stoneheart has are ghosts. She is basically a walking talking ghost herself and she is literally a ghost of herself. She is Jenny after the Tragedy of Summerhall, driven mad by grief.
Sansa isn’t any of those things, in the book or the show. The closest she gets to being Jenny in the show is that she is Winterfell. She’s high in the halls of the kings who are gone and family-wise she is alone. But there is nothing to suggest she has been driven mad by grief or is haunted by ghosts of the past.
I really just don’t get the point of having Sansa affiliated with Jenny instead of Jonquil even if it is a kind of vague connection.

what are werewolves like in shadow oaks?
There are no confirmed Werewolves living naturally in Shadow Oaks at the moment. Although Werewolf families like to live in locations where there are very large forests, the National Park is almost repulsive to them with intense uncanny weird fey magic.
Lycanthropey is a genetic disease, unlike vampirism which is a spreadable contagious disease, which is passed from parent to child. It is a dominate gene so most children born into Lycanthropy prone families will express and have that trait. Every now and then it will skip a generation but not often.
Werewolves live in large extended families, meaning there could be a massive manor or an entire trailer park and every person there is related in some way or another. And often times it's not even blood related, Werewolves will leave their birth packs and join other packs and usually are accepted.
They're very communal, Adults work to maintain the homes, keep the families fed and make sure everything is safe. Young Adults and often Teens will mind after siblings or their elders and Kids jobs are just to be kids. There is no 'lone wolf wandering off to die' in Werewolf Packs-everyone takes care of each other and there is NO shame in asking for help.
Werewolves don't have a lot of historical idols to look up to because being a werewolf was often seen as 'dirty' and a 'lock them up' problem for families to have and something that wasn't to be talked about out of 'shame'. But there are two. One is Bela the Beautiful from the mid 1800s, the first lycanthrope to have positive success of living openly in a human community and was beloved by them as a protector and was regarded great success as a musician and is the protagonist of many romantic Lycanthrope based books. Bela is a rather popular name for Werewolf children.
The other.......uh. .....Is an individual named Peytr Stubbs of the 1500s; who wasn't a werewolf, but violently thought he was, ate 3 babies and killed several adults before he was executed. It's believed that he was the origin of the 'red riding hood wolf' myth.
Lycanthrope is the cover name for the genetic occurrence, Weres come in a variety of carnivorous creatures including cats, coyotes, badgers, lions, tigers, bears, Hyenas and carnivorous large reptiles. These aren't as common occurring as werewolves and often don't live in such big groups as Werewolves do.
Werewolves and Vampires aren't the big rivals as movies make them out to be. In fact they're very amiable towards each other. It was believed that early vampires and werewolves would hunt together as a vampire would drain the body of blood and the wolves could eat the carcasses. Young recently turned vampires could also safely play and test their new strengths on Werewolves who are always eager to have someone to play with. So seeing a werewolf and vampire tussling and horsing around on the front yard of their home isn't territorial fighting-it's friendly play fighting.

since quarantine started, I think I've watched more movies in the past three weeks than I have in the past 6 months. here are some of my favorites
The Lobster (2015)
dir: Yorgos Lanthimos
available on: Netflix
fascinating concept, executed well, beautifully shot and a gripping ending that i still sometimes think about. one of those movies i looked up what happened at the end because i wanted someone elses opinon. (aka, it’s up to interpretation).
Tumblr media
Her (2013)
dir: Spike Jonze
available on: Netflix
one of my favorites I saw during quarantine. thoroughly engaging throughout regardless of it’s longer runtime. beautifully shot, edited and great performances by everyone involved.
Tumblr media
Booksmart (2019)
dir: Olivia Wilde
available on: Hulu
this movie shocked me with how much I ended up enjoying it. i was nervous at first, especially about the likeability of the characters, but they got me at the end. If you are looking for an upbeat, feel good, and funny movie, this is it.
Tumblr media
Boy (2010)
dir: Taika Waititi
available on: amazon prime
my favorite movie ever made. Taika Waititi is a genius. he’s a master at mixing emotion with humor without it feeling like he’s trying too hard. beautifully shot and written, very underrated movie.
Tumblr media
What We Do in the Shadows (2014)
dir: Taika Waititi/Jermaine Clement
please watch this if you want to laugh. one of the funniest movies i’ve ever seen. i think we can all agree that peytr is the best character.
Tumblr media
Submarine (2011)
dir:  Richard Ayoade
rewatching this movie during quarantine makes me remember why it was my favorite movie for so many years. it may be a coming of age story, but it's somehow so much more than others i’ve seen. plus, alex turner does the soundtrack. great film. love u Richard.
Tumblr media
The Way Way Back (2013)
dir: Jim Rash/Nat Faxon
rewatched for the first time since 2013. Sam Rockwell’s character is easily the best even though he may be overly obnoxious at times. unfortunately, the main character is less likable than the supporting characters, but it is quite a lovable film. stars toni collette, allison janney, and steve carell too.
Tumblr media
Nightcrawler (2014)
dir: Dan Gilroy
available on: amazon prime
watched this days ago and still can’t decide on my feelings about it. gripping and deeply unsettling. Jake Gyllenhaal delivers (as usual).
Tumblr media
Moonlight (2016)
dir: Barry Jenkins
available on: netflix
this movie is beautiful. from the way the story is told, shot, and acted, it's great. deserves all of the hype it received upon coming out. longer runtime, so be prepared.
Tumblr media
Bo Burnham: Make Happy (2016)
dir: Bo Burnham, Christopher Storer
available on: netflix
this is a comedy special. since watching it when released, I haven’t stopped thinking about it. one of the smartest, most thought-provoking pieces of music I have ever listened to (just the last song, it has me fucked up to this day).
Tumblr media
Chronicle of a Summer (1961)
dir: Jean Rouch/Edgar Morin
watched for a class and was stunned by how much I was enamored with and intrigued by it. follows ethnographers asking the question, “are you happy?”. the whole movie is in French!
Tumblr media
Skeleton Twins (2014)
dir: Craig Johnson
available on: Hulu
wanted to watch since i heard about it. shocked by Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig’s performances and the emotional storyline of the film overall. may seem like a backhanded compliment, but I was shocked by how good this film was.
Tumblr media
Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016)
dir: Taika Waititi
available on: hulu
if there’s any movie you should watch during this quarantine it’s any of Taika Waititi’s films. he delivers every time with a comedic, heartfelt, and unique story.
Tumblr media
The Fundamentals of Caring (2016)
dir: Rob Burnett
available on: Netflix
i was pleasantly surprised by this movie. really great performance by Craig Roberts. i too would like to go on a week long roadtrip with Paul Rudd. i think i’ll pass on the part where he wipes my ass, though.
Tumblr media
The Last Black Man in San Francisco (2020)
dir: Joe Talbot
available on: amazon prime
this movie isn’t really plot heavy, but it’s still beautifully done and facinating. found myself not really caring about parts of the plot when watching, i just enjoyed it.
Tumblr media
Frank (2014)
dir: Lenny Abrahamson
available on: YouTube (for free as of May 2020)
a weird movie, and i can’t say for sure if i am ashamed to have liked the last song they wrote on the spot. i think the character design of the helmet is enough of a reason to watch.
Tumblr media
Trainspotting (1996)
dir: Danny Boyle
young ewan mcgregor was enough of a reason to get me to watch this movie. a look at drug use in young adult/adult culture in scotland during the 90′s. and it will always go down as the movie i remember that noel gallagher/oasis said no to the soundtrack to because he thought it was about literally train-spotting. another irvine welsh novel made into a movie (first was filth)
Tumblr media
T2L Trainspotting (2017)
director: Danny Boyle
i didn’t realize there was a sequel when I watched the first and I wasn’t really expecting anything much from this. i don’t know if it’s just my love for ewan mcgregor, but I really liked this movie. the soundtrack is just as good as the first, too.
Tumblr media
Paris is Burning (1990)
dir: Jennie Livingston
available on: netflix
one of my favorite pieces of film of all time, probably my favorite documentary out there. i think it’s probably one of the only things i’ve ever considered as ‘essential viewing’
Tumblr media
Inside (2021)
dir: Bo Burnham
available on: netflix
one of my favorite things to come out of quarantine. I have missed bo and his content so much it was amazing to see him come back in such a raw and touching way. I've had the soundtrack on repeat for the past two weeks now, highly recommend.
Tumblr media
Filth (2013)
dir: Jon S. Baird
honestly, one of the strangest movies I've ever seen, but I still enjoyed it. it’s quite crass, so be prepared for some rather vulgar and explicit content. plus, has james mcavoy, which is always a plus.
Tumblr media
Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999 (2021)
dir: James Acaster
available on: Vimeo (for purchase)
another comedy special! besides “Make Happy” this is one of my favorite comedy specials I have ever seen. James is fucking fantastic and the two hour runtime somehow seems too short.
Tumblr media
Promising Young Woman (2021)
dir: Emerald Fennell
this one has had people conflicted. I enjoyed the movie (especially with the shock that bo burnham was in it, also, a great casting choice) and honestly.... quite enjoyed the ending. highly recommend, I was engaged throughout!

Hi! There's a character I'm trying to type but I keep going back and forth between ENTJ and ESTJ. For instance, I'm having trouble telling the difference between, say, manifestations of Tert-Ne and Tert-Se, or between Ne and Aux-Ni; there are also certain traits that I keep assuming are specifically Te-Si, but may just be Te in general? So, what are some key ways to differentiate between ENTJ and ESTJ cognition? Sorry if this is too broad a question, or if I'm being obnoxious-
This is a good question. I know some people may disagree with me, but I feel people can have trouble typing because they get so bogged down in the functional stack breakdown rather than seeing the type as a whole. Below I write of some distinctions and go on some mini-rants. I hope this helps.
The fastest way to tell the difference between an ESTJ and ENTJ is in how they lead. ESTJs prefer to represent a group and be more of a guardian of that group. An ENTJ doesn’t want to represent a group or system like the ESTJ, the ENTJ wants to improve it and often believes they are the right person for the job.
This doesn’t mean an ESTJ can’t change or an ENTJ can’t be stubborn. But we must look at the most common behavior they exhibit as well as how these behaviors manifest.
Take Azula and Sokka from “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” Both are ENTJs. Both constantly work on improving things but are very stubborn and won’t change their minds of the person arguing with them isn’t coming from their exact same perspective. Though they are open to new ways of doing things because of Ni, their Te still makes them rigid. Also they can get stuck in their personal Ni being the only true way of seeing something.
An ESTJ though typically for preservation can also be a catalyst for change. Take Hermione Granger from “Harry Potter.” She starts SPEW for the movement of freeing House Elves. Stereotypes dictate that she couldn’t possibly be for social change. Isn’t that Fe to care about someone and to show emotion? The audacity of a Thinking type having, dare I say it, feelings and...an EMOTIONAL REACTION! (Thanks for listening to my rant).
What makes our types the way they are is about a person’s approach to something. We can all be the mentor, we can all be philosophers, architects, poets, etc. How we approach tasks is where our personality types come into play. How Hermione approaches her social movement is what shows her quintessential ESTJ-ness. She takes the role of representative and enjoys all the detailed work of paper work and getting the movement off the ground. It isn’t impassioned speeches but button making and creating rules that gets her passion for the movement going.
This also brings me to another key difference of an ENTJ and an ESTJ. An ENTJ is more likely to have an easier time delegating tasks than an ESTJ. Again, this isn’t to say that they can never break this observation, but there is a pattern. ESTJs love detailed work, they do! Look at Monica from FRIENDS. She can easily leads but has a tendency to micromanage and take over every tasks. She rarely trusts others to do as good of a job as she does. That is the Si kicking in. Si is so comfortable with the details works that a leader is usually demanded to delegate. It can be hard for an ESTJ to learn to let that go.
An ENTJ is often more comfortable with delegating tasks when needed. Their Ni leads them to looking at the bigger picture of the system they are taking on a leadership role for. They will often be able to navigate who they want in what role to help the machine run best. Sometimes a character can take this too far as people often don’t act as we would expect them to.
Take Peytr Baelish from “Game of Thrones,” an ENTJ, (who I have been told is obviously an INTJ, everyone knows that. Hear that? EVERYONE! Guess I missed the Petyr Baelish is an INTJ bill that got passed). He often delegates tasks and underestimates others. His intuition helps him to a point but he isn’t as observant as he tries make others think he is. It is why he completely misses that Sansa and Arya are playing him. It is why he really can never beat Cersei at her game. Another example is Regina Mills from “Once Upon a Time.” Blinded by her master plans she often misses details about people and underestimates them. This is often her undoing.
When trying to tell the differences in these types through their tertiary functions, it can be really hard. Tertiary functions in types that share dominant and inferior functions can look really similar and be hard to differentiate. It is why it should probably not be a starting off point when trying to type a character. Both ETJs use Se or Ne to enforce their Te when unhealthy and when healthy use these functions to let go and have fun.
Some tips once you get to this point:
-Ne deals in possibilities. For an ESTJ experiencing negative Ne, this means they are seeing only all the negative possibilities in the world around them. They feel pushed to react and change this externally. This leads to them worried that others simply can’t make decisions for themselves and they can become overbearing and make decisions for them. Again, Monica is a great example of this as she does this a lot with Rachel. This is most seen in the episode where Monica becomes all too ready to take Rachel up on her deal to make decisions for Rachel. When Ne is unhealthy in an ESTJ, it takes my micromanaging comment to the next level. Instead of just doing it themselves because they love the work, it becomes a distrust in the abilities of others.
-Se is more impulsive and experiential. This is something the ENTJ doesn’t identify in themselves. You can seem them try to repress this part of them when it comes out if they are unhealthy. They can see this as a frivolous side of themselves that they shouldn’t engage in. Regina is a great example of this as she struggles to live in the moment. Whenever she does and feels a bit of happiness from it, she shuts the scenario down. This is most evident when she is taken to the tavern by Tinkerbell to meet her true love, Robin. She doesn’t go in. This urge is too impulsive for her and a trivial thing to do.

Legit question: why is Cat so hard on Arya about being ladylike when some of her fondest memories from her childhood in Riverrun are about making mud pies and sharing Peytr with her sister to practice kissing? Do you think George did that on purpose? If not, was it just an oversight on his part?
I reckon it’s on purpose. For a start, Catelyn’s childhood wasn’t just mud pies, it was playing Jenny of Oldstones and, as you say, kissing games. Cat probably rationalises that because kissing is something expected a lady will be doing with her husband. Those games fall under the accepted societal restrictions for young girls. Arya is playing so-called ‘boys games’: sword fighting, swimming, running, climbing trees, etc. all without other girls. I guess in Cat’s eyes, Arya should be training for marriage, as she did sort of, but isn’t, and that simply isn’t acceptable to her. But, there’s also the fact that Cat’s childhood and innocence was ended rather harshly. By a war, the death of her betrothed, and spending her pregnancy alone. Cat obviously disapproves for all the wrong reasons set up by their society, but there is perhaps also the desire to set Arya up for disappointment early, so she doesn’t have such a rude awakening.

The weirwood chair beneath him felt foreign, almost as if it were more accustomed to the weight of lies from his substitute. Robin kept his gaze indifferent of emotion but still they fell momentarily to the man with the real power of the Vale behind him. Not long ago he would have looked at Little Finger with the sort of adoration befitting of the moniker he had for him: Uncle Peytr. Now he had to mask the pain and anger and play the hand he had been dealt with.
Beside him felt Ulrk, son of Uulf, shift his weight with anticipation. The tension in the room between the Moonbrothers and the other Lords was palpable.
“Lord Arryn returns marked and cut like one of them,  brings in these savages —these wildlings!”
“Lord Egen, has my name escaped you?” It was the first time Robin spoke since the meeting commenced. He noted the elder’s expression of  bewilderment. Either from his cool demeanor or the fact that he spoke at all.
“My Lord, I’m sure Lord Egen speaks from a place of concern. You had us all worried, after all. Three moons is too long for someone as important as you to go missing.”
Robin softened his gaze at Petyr’s words, knowing full well if he went too much against the grain he could put himself at greater risk. Surely eh had hoped that if the assassin hadn’t been successful then the natural terrain of the mountains would have ended him. “Of course. Which is why we should be grateful that Sons of the Moon didn’t kill me.”
Ulrk let out a loud puff of air and Lord Egen look of disdain hardened. “but to bring them here...”
“They live in my mountains, on my lands, they are Valeman just as much as you.” Robin leaned back and brought his fingers up to brush up against the stubble behind his ear. His fears of scissors non-existent after taking a knife in the shoulder. Plus, Ulrk was never going to consider their alliance seriously with “woman’s hair” as he so eloquently put it.
“And I’m sure they will be essential for our plight North.” Of course, Little Finger would do what he could to smooth the situation over. Robin couldn’t gather much else about what he could do but certainly he would find the angle to benefit himself. Of that much Robin was sure.
“We don’t take orders from you,” Ulrk spat and looked away from Baelish.  Luckily, the mountain clans were loyal to him.
“Well, I suppose that means I’ll be going with you Uncle. It is my family, after all.” And after finding out Little Finger and his mother had been poisoning him all that time he was certain of one thing: he would never leave that man alone with any family he had left.

War of hearts; Sansa
Fandom: Game of Thrones! Prompt: How Sansa fell in love with Jaime Word Count: 1,660 Characters: Sansa Stark and Jaime Lannister Chapters: ONE, two, three, JAIME, Sansa. Warnings: none Author note:Sorry it took so long, enjoy!
Sansa Stark had always been enchanted by fairy stories, there was something simply romantic about the whole concept. A princess needed saving from a villain, a knight or prince coming and saving her. It was how Sansa had dreamed her life would be, she didn’t know knights can be corrupted, evil can win, the good sit back and do nothing, and sometimes no matter how much you hope your knight will come, but he doesn’t and falling in love with him can be the can feel like the biggest betrayal that has ever happened in your family.
The first time Sansa Stark set her eyes on Jaime Lannister it was in Winterfell, the golden lion of king’s guard, a knight that took her breath away and as her younger sister spoke she yearned to hear more. “That’s Jaime Lannister, the queen’s twin brother.” It was him, the knight she’d read about in books the one who killed the mad king. There was little written about him, but there were whispers all about him. He shone brighter than any other member of the precession.
She watched him with keen interest for a few moments, before her attention was pulled away by the prince himself. He wasn’t a lion, he was something else. As he smiled, she wished she’d known the truth about him. She smiled back signing her own fate instantly. If she knew what he’d become, would she of even smiled back? Did everything bad that happened to her start at that smile? To Sansa, if you asked her today she would say yes. But no matter what, even if she’d not looked at him her fate was already sealed.
The red wolf tried to not look at him as they travelled and tried to just focus on Joffrey, but that wasn’t easy. It was however once they got to the capital, she never really saw him. The first real-time she gave Jaime thought was the day she was told her father had been attacked by Jaime, and that Jory had been killed. She took a seat in her room, her head and heart were full of anguish and rage. Jory was family, he had died protecting her father and in such an awful way. She wanted to mourn him, but she felt as if she were betraying him for thinking about Jaime. When Lady was killed Jory held her while she cried, he had been with the family for years… Now he was gone and impending doom was bubbling inside her, while her heart fluttered at the thought of the Lannister lion.
After her father’s death, she found herself wondering if she were a traitor because she had a crush on Jaime. He was her brother’s prisoner of war and she found herself praying that he wouldn’t be hurt, she told herself she hated him he hurt her father and Jory but yet she struggled to remove him from her brain. Jaime Lannister, a betrayer, a man who lay with his sister, but someone she let her mind wander to when she was alone. Let herself dream of silly little things such as their children, how beautiful they’d look with blonde hair and blue-eyes, she would be nursing their newest addition while he taught their Twins archery and how to use swords. It was a dream, a foolish dream for a stupid girl, but she liked the idea of dreaming instead of the harsh reality.
The night before her wedding she found herself lying awake in bed hoping that tomorrow she’d walk into the sept and he’d burst in on a horse and stop the wedding. It was a foolish dream she wasn’t even sure if he was back here yet or if he was still a prisoner of war, or dead. People had stopped talking about things like this in front of her, she didn’t even know how her brother was doing anymore. The only thing she knew was that Arya was alive and that was because Little finger had told her so.
Sansa Lannister, it wasn’t the name she detested, it was the husband. Tyrion was good to her, he was wonderful really. He protected her, didn’t lay with her on their wedding night, and was one of the few people who cared if she lived or died. Yet, he wasn’t Jaime. She would look at him from time to time while they were in the room together and just simply imagine he was the knight she’d dreamed of so many times. Then she’d come to her senses and realize she was a foolish girl and that she should stop living in a fantasy. Jaime wouldn’t want her, he only wanted Cersei.
When he spoke to her for the first time, she’d been crying, mourning the loss of more of her family. Most people left her alone so she was able to let her tears fall freely until his voice reached her ears and she had to wipe her eyes before turning to look at him. She barely remembered the conversation, she just remembered his facial expressions and the way he held himself. The sadness in his eyes as she spoke about her family being traitors, the surprise he had on his face when she apologized for his hand and she wasn’t sure if she was imagining it or not, but the sadness when Tyrion arrived and broke them apart.
When he left, she felt a strange sense of longing, desire and want for him. Was it her imagination or had her world stopped for a few moments while they spoke? When she’d been heading back to her room, she had hoped to see him just for a moment, that maybe he and Tyrion were so close by that she’d get a peek, but there was no such luck. After that she started trying to seek him out, without actually seeking him out, she’d walk past where he was in hope of bumping into him or glance at him when she was looking for someone. But they didn’t have another conversation, while she was in kings landing.
Joffrey’s wedding, she sat beside her husband and would glance from time to time in his direction. She only met his gaze once, and it felt like everything around her slowed down and started to disappear while they were looking at each other. Then, of course, Joffrey had to ruin it by bringing out the little actors and torment her and Tyrion. She didn’t think she’d ever see him again as she escaped from Kings landing, she thought of that moment they shared at the wedding, and that it would be the last moment they ever had.
Then came Robin, Ramsay and Peytr, she was sure the three of them the brat, the psycho, and the scheming rat planned to rip her to shreds but none of them expected her to have an inner strength that she’d found in Kings landing. She stood up for herself against the brat, she slapped him and made him realize she was a force to be reckoned with. She clung onto herself and refused to allow the psycho to take all she was, she’d lay there and think of happier times, of a future with a certain knight she’d dreamed of in the past. Then came the rat, she used him and destroyed him, she shed no tears and showed no mercy when the latter two were dead, why should she? They were just people who wanted to rip her apart, till there was nothing left.
She became a queen, not by title, but how she held herself, how she became strong and cared solely for her people. Jaime had slipped from her mind, she was preparing for winter and for the battle against the night king. All thoughts of him only came back when she found out Jon had gone to try and get the Lannister’s to help. She’d told him, it wouldn’t happen, Cersei would never come. But then something happened that made her heart feel like it was truly beating again.
Jaime arrived.
Sansa had thought she was dreaming when she was told that Jaime had arrived, she made her way into the great hall for him to stand trial, she sat beside Jon and found her heart hammering as he came in. So many emotions came flooding into her as she sat him with a scruffy beard and untamed hair, Jaime Lannister the knight she’d wanted for so long stood there in front of her and the council… and there was a chance he could die.
There it was again, he’d betrayed her family. He pushed Bran from the window. Should she love a man who has hurt her family so much? No, But then you cannot help loving who you love. She looked at him as his freedom was granted and wasn’t able to pull back the smile that spread across her face. Standing, she left the room. Her mind racing as she thought about him, was there a chance something could happen now that Bran had forgiven him and he was here to fight the dead.
Walking outside, she leaned on the balcony and looked at people as they prepared to leave. She knew her family wanted her to go too, but she wasn’t going to run, no her place was beside her people. Her eyes landed on Jaime in the courtyard, he cared about the people and that meant far more than she’d ever been able to admit. She looked away for a moment and then looked back only to find him gone. She leaned forward slightly looking for him, but with no luck, she stood normally and sighed.
The world fell silent as she heard footsteps behind her, she no longer heard people talking and rushing around, she no longer heard anything apart from the footsteps of the knight who held her heart coming toward her.

Game of thrones: Conquest and Rebellion
I’m a happy camper this Christmas as I finally got Game of Thrones season 7 for myself. And I was surprised when it came with this beautiful little DVD that contains an over 40 minute history of the Targaryens in Westeros, narrated by several of the characters in Game of Thrones including: Viserys, Varys, Euron, Peytr Baelish, Sansa, and Jaime. I say characters and not actors because it is clearly supposed to be from the perspective of the characters and what they have learned about the history of the Targaryens.
Now, I was intrigued to watch this because I am actually midway through a big ol’ post on unreliable history in Fire and Blood. The basic thesis is that by telling the history of his world through the eyes of someone in that world, he makes it unreliable and biased and this is very much by design. I have my ideas about what is exagerated vs what is real in Fire and Blood, but I wanted to see how this video compared. Especially since it contains what the SHOW views as the most important notes in the Targaryen conquest.
And boy did it confirm my suspicions about unreliable history. In fact, hearing individual characters bring in their bias illustrated my thesis perfectly. But let’s talk about some of the highlights. Because I was surprised to see how the Targaryens were represented her.
1. Viserys suggests that the Targaryens may have left Old Valyria because of a court mishap and not the prophesy from ‘The Dreamer’. I have had my suspicions about some of the “prophetical” motivation behind the Targaryen conquest, because in large part it seemed like stories written to justify Aegon’s conquest. Like it’s his “destiny”. However, I never thought to question the idea of the dreamer foreseeing the doom of Valyria. Now, if this was from any other character’s narration I might call it unreliable and an attempt to discredit the Targaryens but this is Viserys, “number one Targaryen fanboy”, “my family is the best and like GODS among MEN” Targaryen. Even he thinks that perhaps the vision is just a story. At the very least, the vision wasn’t super clear as the Targaryens left a full twelve years before the Doom. Already the show seems to be calling attention to the fact that the Targaryens are just like everyone else.
2. This continues with the implication that Aegon conquered for resources and knew he could win because of dragons. This is also Viserys’ implication. He also makes a statement about Aegon “teaching the squabbling families the meaning of greatness” and it sounds very villainy. Again. This is Viserys who later on calls Maegar the cruel, “the wise” and says the title of cruel was slander! Viserys is 100% team Targaryen and yet he does not begin to make Aegon’s intentions sound noble. Even though the Targaryen history books are FILLED with that kind of thing. Viserys also calls them “strangers” to Westeros which follows the narrative of this being an invasion. in fact the next section is even TITLED ‘invasion’
After this, we switch to Varys’ narration. As a narrator, he’s probs the most trustworthy as he is the most neutral. And HE adds in the suggestion that Aegon used the hands of the envoy sent to him by Argilac the arrogant were just a PRETEXT for the conquest he’d been planning for a long time. He wanted to rule the seven kingdoms and was just looking for an excuse to attack. He also suggests that Argilac the arrogant was surpassed by Aegon in arrogance. Not a great picture painted of Aegon.
3. “Before he was done, the rivers fields and skies would turn red” -- Varys on Aegon the conqueror. Continues to speak of this man like a villain. in sharp contrast to the ‘noble conqueror’ painted in Fire and Blood. Speaking of which, Aegon is the one who comes up with the words ‘Fire and Blood’ according to this video, which definetily makes him seem like he was hoping for some casual mass murder.
4. Obviously, Harren the Black and Argilac the Arrogant sucked. Totally not coming to their defense. But how are their deaths portrated. Well, Euron is given the chance to describe the death of Harren and he is CLEARLY turned on by the destruction of his ancestors which is a bad sign. It’s description is horrifying and the animation is dark. Obviously if Euron likes it, its supposed to be kind of freaky.
Argilac, however, is given a heroic final battle seeming almost noble. Orys Baratheon, the most humanized of all the conquerors, seems to respect him enough to take his sigil and words “out of respect”. We’ll talk more about how the characters are drawn later, but there’s a big difference between Orys and Aegon.
5. Jaime describes the field of fire and he himself looks VERY MUCH like Lorren Lannister. He stresses that Aegon had “no mercy”. But its no surprise that he hates Targaryens cause they have a bad history. But still, the Field of Fire is shot like a horrifying war scene and the Targaryens are again depicted as the villain. Thousands return home as “scarred monsters”.
Favorite line “Aegon had a fetish for collecting swords”.
6. Sansa narrates the bits about House Stark and House Stark is indisputidly depicted as heroes. Now, this isn’t surprising. Sansa is loyal to her house. But she implies that the north was different than the other kingdoms because they were focused on survival not power. There is focus for a lot of time on the white walkers and how it is a Stark problem to deal with and they are a greater threat than dragons.
She puts emphasis on how Starks are willing to make alliances for survival, regadless of pride as well. She seems to respect Torrhen Stark’s decision to kneel saying ‘he had no choice’. Aegon was offering a very ‘kneel or die’ message after all. The Starks would have died if they did not bow. But their swords are still taken for the throne!
The most ominous bit is this:
“The swords Aegon took from them were not twisted or mangled” - Sansa
“Yet” - Viserys, very ominously
What an ominous thing to throw in there Viserys!
7. Most unsettling display of Targaryen villainy happens in the Eyrie, narrated by Littlefinger. Queen Arryn arrives to see that Visenya is with her son, next to her dragon. Visenya doesn’t say it, but she is fully threatening the boy. You can see it by her smile which is just...oof. It’s scary. She clearly intends to kill him if his mother doesn’t give the crown. She has “no choice” and Littlefinger describes him as a “poor boy”. Visenya is clear villain in this. This is in HUGE contrast to the two women apparently relating and connecting with each other in Fire and Blood.
8. Viserys mocks the “religious” reasons for old town’s surrender suggesting that they knelt because otherwise everyone would die. This once again undercuts the idea that the septon saw some grand purpose for Aegon which is suggested in Fire and Blood. The septon is just afraid, again, according to Viserys the number one Targaryen fanboy. Bonus: calls the north savages because Targaryens are better than everyone~~ He even calls the Targaryens the "Greatest dynasty ever.” when Aegon is crowned.
9. But after Aegon’s victory, the neutral Varys comes in to remind us of the Dorne failure. Rather than making Rhaenys seem unflapable and invincible as Fire and Blood did, Varys suggested that the yellow toad of Dorne SCARED Rhaenys. And later on, of course, Rhaenys gets taken down. Dorne really is painted as the heroic underdogs of this scene. and emphasis is placed on the fact that Aegon and Visenya set every city on fire except sunspear. If there HAD been people there, they would all be dead. Fire and Blood indeed.
10. We skip right from the conquest to the Dance of Dragons.
“With no enemies left they started fighting each other.” - Viserys
This defs doesn’t sound like the centuries of peace and prosperity that Dany talked about. This video is focused ENTIRELY on the wars of the Targaryens and not the good things or building of infrastructure. No mention of Jahaerys the concilitator at all. Instead we focus on Aegon, Maegar, the Dance, Aegon the Unworthy and the Mad King. All the very worst Targaryens. And there are lots of good things the Targaryens did! But instead of focusing on that, the show focuses on the war, which means they know that Dany’s line about “centuries of peace” is wrong.
Bonus, we have more of Viserys arguing for blood purity and that Targaryens are SPECIAL and that they would have been fine if Aegon didn’t legitimize so many dirty half breed bastards.
11. The greatest Targaryen threat, however, is madness (according to Jaime who saw the Mad King first hand). We bring up that line again: “Every time a Targaryen is born the gods flip a coin”
“We put up with Aerys hoping Rhaegar would be better but then he also proved mad when he took Lyanna Stark”
This does not place Rhaegar as the sane, good sibling most people do. Instead, it also paints him in a negative light. Which, this is Jaime, so take it with a grain of salt. But he actually never hated Rhaegar so yeah...
12. Jaime is so bitter about Ned condemning him and it’s kinda funny. I love Nikolaj narration
“I saw what Ned Stark couldn’t. Robert was ashamed of the bodies of the children... and more ashamed at his relief. Glorious heroes didn’t kill children. They simply didn’t punish their murderers” - Jaime being smart with one of my fave lines.
He clearly sees things as they are. He doesn’t like the Targaryens but he also doesn’t elevate Robert as a god. Jaime doesn’t believe in heroes and it shows here.
13. Then we end with a particularly ominous note.
“One day I’ll return and repay all traitors with the only coin my family knows. Fire and blood” - Viserys.
These are the last words in the video. A threat. It really does not paint the Targaryens as tragic characters pushed out of their rightful throne.
And this is where I want to talk about the character drawings. Every pose from the original three dragons (Aegon and sisters) is the most villainous thing in the world and the music behind their conquest is intense and dark. Their faces are often lowered but with their eyes glaring up and shrouded in shadow. Their smiles are sharp. Their body language is arrogant. It is victims of the conquest like Lorren and Torrhen who are given more humanized designs.
On the Targaryen side of things, the most humanized design belongs to Orys Baratheon who has much kinder eyes and a more open expression. And the there’s Viserys and Daenerys at the end who look like scared children more than anything. But the Targaryen dynasty that is their birth right doesn’t appear to start out on a great foot.
This kinda all backs up my point that if Daenerys wants to break the wheel, she will have to reject and correct the legacy of her family. The show clearly does not view Aegon as a great hero. So if they mean for Daenerys to be a hero, I hope they have her recognize the history and take steps to correct it (maybe even destroy the iron throne, plz?) And if she doesn’t recognize her history or tries to emulate Aegon, she could be headed down a bad path.
I love the Targaryen family because, like lots of my favorite Westeros families, they are SCREWED UP and have lots of interesting characters, and I look forward to exploring them more in my Fire and Blood post. But if anything, this video just backs up my thesis about unreliable history and what Dany will have to do if she wants to be a good ruler. Break that wheel! It was forged in fire and blood!

A lil taste of my disco wip:
If it weren’t November, Sansa would roll her window down and embrace the stench of lower Manhattan over the cloying scent of mint and cloves, but she’d left her afghan coat at home. Petyr was taking her to the club and it was next to impossible to get the smell of smoke out of suede. She’d have to hang the coat from her fire escape and risk the girls from 12B stealing it. Last month, she’d seen Shae leaving the building in her yellow plaid jumper; the one with an S that Sansa had embroidered herself on the pocket. She hadn’t breathed a word of protest, because the girls from 12B had also kept Sansa alive in her first month of freedom, limited though it was, and she owed them a great deal already.
“This isn’t the way to the Water Gardens,” she observed turning from her window to glance at Petyr. He sat leaning against the opposite door, watching her. He was always watching her. Lyn was driving the Continental south on Lafayette, when he should have been heading north, and she had more than a passing suspicion they were headed for the Brooklyn Bridge.
She loved her hair, and it was Oberyn Martell she was dressing to impress. “You look tired. You should quit that silly job at Bonwit Teller.”
That silly job paid her rent, she wanted to remind him, but then he’d only argue for her to come home and live with him again. She couldn't do that.
They started across the bridge, and she huffed, crossing and uncrossing her legs in agitation.
“You’re taking me to a fight.”
“Don’t fret, pet. I just need to see about a match. We’ll be back in Manhattan before Oberyn blows through his first 8-ball. You don’t want to seem desperate, do you?”
A bit late for that, she thought, clasping her fingers in her bare lap, looking down the long expanse of skin to her gold leather stilettos. Her mother was probably rolling over in her grave. “Of course not, Petyr. You know best.”
“That’s why I’m your manager.” From uncle, to legal guardian, to manager, to what next? It was a question that kept Sansa up at night, but Rickon and Bran were still his wards, and he controlled all of her money; all but what she earned selling lipstick at the Bonwit makeup counter three days a week.
“I just hate the fights. You know that.”
“We’ll be in and out before the match even starts.”
How many times had she heard that lie?

Decades Challenge 1311-1315
Family Tree - Likely contains spoilers if you're not caught up.
1311-1313
Tumblr media
[Willarde and Peronell's household.]
Willarde Lambard may love Peronell deeply but that doesn't stop him from feeling jealous from time to time. He still fears she may cheat on him, even though she was loyal to Arthurius for their entire lives, and even after she gave birth to his twin boys, in 1312:
(Twins) Lijart Wyschardus Lambard, Lancelet Willarde Lambard
It's not like Peronell has even been going out that much she typically spends most days teaching Helena, Mirabelle, Besseta, and Roesia how to cook, doing laundry, and watching after baby Lancelet.
Only Lancelet survived infancy, but for the moment that means Willarde might have a male heir society deems required. However, despite the fulfillment having Lancelet, brings Willarde he still loves his daughter as much as always.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Henfrey left, Roesia right.]
Henfrey Arthurius and his extended family made yearly trips to the river, during the summer to swim catch frogs and fish. This is where many of his siblings and many of the other children learned they like fitness/swimming. Especially, Roesia. Henfrey had a bit of a mean phase, but mostly he just stomped around.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Mirabelle left, Besseta right.]
Mirabelle Ellice went through a clingy phase with her step-sister, Besseta, you practically couldn't find one without the other. Mirabelle might not dislike the rest of the family, but she's not particularly close to anyone else. Besseta Emelyne is also one of the children who loves fitness/swimming along with her cousin, Linet Madeline.
However, in a cruel twist of fate, despite their mother's being sisters they don't get along incredibly well. She also absolutely despises Lancelet. Although, she's likely just upset feeling like her triplet brothers are being replaced with a new brother or worried it will change the relationship she has with her father.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Linet left, Helena right.]
Even though, Linet is partners in crime with both Helena Peronell, or Roesia Adelin, they are not partners in crime with each other. Instead they have a deep hatred for one another as they both feel the other hogs to much of Linet's time, plus they are officially enemies.
Helena went through a pretty bad mean streak and even refused to attend church for a few months, even influenced Linet to ditch as well. She often cooks with Peronell, which is nice since her evil tendencies tend to take a back seat during their bonding time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Wenefreda left, Lancelet right.]
Unfortunately, in 1311, Wenefreda Jossy passed away from an unknown heart defect. Fortunately, Lancelet survived his baby years and loves being carried around and talking with his family, but if he gets in a mood it's best to just stay out of his way.
Tumblr media
[Tillie and Peytr's houshold.]
Tillie and Peytr Lambard seem to be getting along really well, especially handling the stress of caring for her brother's orphaned children. They welcomed their second child, Ninette Tillie Lambard, in the end of 1311.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Theobald left, Rex right.]
Theobald Humpherus was also one of the members of the family that discovered a love for fitness and he and Henfrey started spending a lot more time out and about the local area together, running and playing. Rex Peytr gets along with little Ninette really well, he took an instant liking to his baby sister. He loves doing things by himself for the most part and picked up the potty skill almost instantly.
1314
Tumblr media
[Willarde and Peronell's family gathered to celebrate Christmas together, they also all attended the local Christmas celebration.]
In 1314, the family had a large Christmas celebration and everyone got together. All the kids got presents from their parents/guardians, as well as, Santa. (If that's not historical accurate oh well. 😏)
Tumblr media
[Henfrey and Theobald late night fishing, in autumn of 1314.]
Henfrey and Theobald spent a lot of time playing in the local park on the hanging frame and fishing together. Ilbert occasionally joined them, but usually he would choose to stay home, especially if they decide to go fishing, he finds it boring.
Tumblr media
[Helena knitting on a stool in the garden trying to avoid the family.]
Helena has been getting pretty good at the violin and has been spending a lot of time knitting. Mirabelle and Besseta still spend every waking moment together, and Mirabelle even gave Besseta fill permission to use her violin since Helena refuses to share.
Tumblr media
[Roesia and Linet becoming partners in crime.]
Roesia and Linet have been hanging out more then Helena and Linet. Linet spends a fair amount of time training Tillie's dog Ginger to do tricks but that doesn't mean she doesn't still plan pranks with Helena, or Roesia. She also started using swear words when her parents aren't around. All the instruction Ginger had been receiving must have been a bit much because he ran away for part of 1314.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Ilbert left, Ninette right.]
Ilbert finally aged up into a child, meaning all of Humpherus's children under Tillie's care have reached childhood. Despite Ilbert's active energy, he's a pretty shy and quiet kid. He hasn't made much of an impression on most of his family, but those he has love him dearly. As toddler's, Rex and Ninette are even closer, and they play together non-stop. It probably helps that Ninette doesn't really seem to mind anything or anyone and gets along with most if not all members of the family.
1315
Tumblr media
[Henfrey and Helena having a meal during the famine.]
When Winter 1315 hit, Both Faremanne families were lucky that had stocked up really well. Before Winter each year, Both Arthurius's family and Tillie's family stocked up on resources for winter and the following year incase there was a poor harvest which left them with plenty to ration throughout 1315. However, stores started to looke pretty bare by Winter 1316.
Tumblr media
[Peronell just after giving birth to her final set of twins.]
In Autumn 1315, Peronell gave birth to her final suprise babies,
(Twins) Osane Mae Lambard & Owin Isenbert Lambard.
Due to a lack of medical advancement, Peronell perished during the birth. While both twins lived initially, without Peronell alive to feed them, Osane ended up getting an infection due to the unsanitary feeding conditions and died before she turned 3 months old.
Tumblr media
[Included in the photo above from left to right; Ninette Lambard, Rex Lambard being held by Peytr Lambard, Besseta Lambard, Willard Lambard holding Owin Lambard, Lancelet Lambard, Ginger Faremanne (dog).]
Owin really didn't fair much better then his twin sister, but at least he survived infancy. Henfrey, Mirabelle, Roesia, and Lancelet all decided they absolutely hate him. Only Helena and Besseta actually like him. With so much stress in the family and the fear of how Helena's obsession with Owin might effect his upbringing, Willarde ultimately made the choice to split up Peronell's children and return to his family property with his three children: Besseta, Lancelet, and Owin.
Tumblr media

Due to the near non existent harvest of 1315, resources were becoming incredibly scarce by the end of Autumn. This put Tillie in a very scary place. Already caring for Humpherus's 3 children, Tillie felt extremely wounded by Willarde's overall abandonment of Peronell's older children and worried deeply for the future of her niece's and nephew's as well as her own children. If the famine lasted much longer. she wasn't sure any of them would survive. Even under immense pressure and with a fair amount of fear on what the future would bring, she wasn't about to let her brother's, nor her adoptive father, Gerard Helewyse's legacy vanish without a fight.

Sansa Stark Defense
Season 1 — She was a fucking child. When I was thirteen I used to complain, was naive, and was a bit spoiled too. She was confused and scared in a foreign land. She said, "I never want to speak to my father again" after the whole Lady thing, but when you were fucking 13, when your father pissed you off, didn't you say the exact same thing? After Ned got arrested she was easily manipulated because she was 13! While Arya was trying to survive, Sansa did all she could to save her father by putting her head on the line to grant him mercy. Yet Joffrey still killed him, don't forget Arya didn't see it, but Sansa did while screaming for them to stop as they restrained her and she fainted. Then Joffrey made her look at it and she gave a savage retort. If it were not for the Hound, she would have killed Joffrey that day.
Season 2 — what did she honestly do but was beaten and humiliated, emotionally and physically abused by Joffrey and Cersei. But she never let them break her. She would always ride up with the same womanly strength that she shares with her mother. She doesn't love Joffrey, but she will pretend so she could survive in a world where she is all alone. She is smarter than she looks, remember when she used her wits to save Dontos at Joffrey's Name Day Tourney? As Tyrion (arguably the smartest character) even comments, "lady Stark you may survive us yet"
Season 3 — she is finally free of the boy king! Yah! She finally has a friend, Magaery! Yah! She could marry the sweet and handsome Ser Loras! Yah! And then all these sweet dreams of escaping the capital and marry a good man (who even though he is gay, he would never abuse or mistreat her), are seemingly crushed by the same people who are trying to destroy her family and forced to marry the Imp. Sansa is smart to be worried and careful. Yet you can see they have a few good moments where he even manages to make her smile. Yet all hope is destroyed when the Red Wedding takes place. Now she has lost her father, mother, Robb, and she thinks she lost Bran and Rickon too. She thinks she is alone in this world.
Season 4 — she is believed to have helped kill a king. She is finally allowed to leave he capital to the safety of the Vale. Yet instead of the safety she expected, she was attacked by her aunt that is bad shit crazy and tried to push her through the moon door. When the lords of the Vale are ready to kill Peytr Baelish, she lies like a master mind to save his life. It finally shows that she has been learning from the other players like a master. She has learnt from Cersei, Tyrion, and Littlefinger. She is now a player in the game.
Season 5 — this is were D&D kinda fucked her up with the Ramsay bullshit. But still she knows who are her enemies and who are her friends. No matter how he beat or raped her, we see in the finale when she faces off with Myranda and Reek, she is stills strong and fierce. Her escape with Theon is just beautiful.
Season 6 — this is Sansa at her best. Don't forget it was SANSA FUCKING STARK who was the one who inspired Jon Snow to take back Winterfell. Without her, he would have never even gone to all the lords. She is smart enough to know she can trust Brienne and send her to the Tullys for support. Even Blackfish admits that she is just like Catelyn. Kind, honorable, dutiful Catelyn. She is smart enough to tell Lord Baelish to fuck off, but stay close enough in case she needs to use him. She told Jon not to do what Ramsay wanted, and though that sounds obvious, Jon didn't listen and played right into Ramsay's trap. Rickon died. Jon and his men were cornered and would have all died if not for Sansa. She was the one who brought the Knights of the Vale to save them. She was the reason they won the battle. And who finished off Ramsay like a badass. She was a supporter of Jon even though he took away her birthright as Queen in the North since they believed all her trueborn brother's were dead.
Season 7 — can we all agree Sansa didn't do anything bad? She was right about the Karstarks and Umbers. I agree she shouldn't have oppose Jon like that, but like she said "Joffrey never let anyone oppose him" and she wants to help Jon be a great king. He left her in charge because he trusts her more than anyone and knows she will make a great Lady of Wintefell. And he is completely right. She is amazing. While eveyone worries about ice zombies or the iron throne, Sansa is getting ready for a long winter. Making sure the armor has proper leather and there is enough food for everyone. She has become such a great player in the game now that at the end where she proves to Lord Baelish that she and Arya had been playing him, I got chills when she turned her head to him. And the ending scene with Arya and Sansa where we see them both acknowledge each other's strengths, we can see that even ARYA ADMITS THAT SANSA HAS BEEN THROUGH SOME SHIT THAT SHE ISN'T SURE THAT SHE WOULD HAVE SURVIVED. Once again, Tyrion and Jon share that moment where they acknowledge how smart she truly is, only that she was hiding it, but now she is showing it. A true Stark.

Ficlet: Sweetheart’s Day
Author’s Note: Happy Valentine’s Day, my friends! I hope your day is spent with whomever you want, doing whatever you want, and I hope you get a few smiles, too.
A long, sterile hallway, pools of light amid a larger darkness, and Han Solo stood at one end watching Leia Organa at the other. Early morning chill settled into the hulls, whipping through the space between them, pulling at her clothes and the loose ends of her hair, braided and wrapped around her head like a seal against the outside world.
Her back was to him; he had time to watch her undisguised. Her fatigues were wrinkled, her boots scuffed and worn. He couldn’t see her face, couldn’t see the shadows he knew would press under her eyes, the tired, pinched look of her cheeks. But her stance, her clothes, her hair all told him that she hadn’t slept.
He hadn’t meant to see her. He’d been heading to the mess hall for caf, to see if what Luke had told him was true. A better brew than usual on this Sweetheart’s Day. The Alliance couldn’t afford anything but slightly more expensive caf. No sweets, no leave, no time for the frivolous romanticism in the Rebel ranks, but hell if Han wasn’t going to take advantage of High Command’s rare consideration.
And then he’d stumbled onto her silhouette in the hallway and all thoughts of richer caf disappeared.
Three months since the Alliance had scored its first massive victory against the Empire and they had very little to show for it. Han didn’t know anything specific—he was a contractor and no one thought enough of him to tell him—but based on the shabby interior of the Mon Cal battle cruiser out of which they were currently operating, he gleaned that the Alliance was strapped for credits. Moral victories didn’t pay the bills and High Command seemed loathe to resort to stealing and pillaging for supplies.
Except for Leia.
The princess had agreed with him on the stupidity of the Alliance emphasis on clean warfare.  She’d asked him about Imperial storehouses and he’d gladly supplied whatever information he had. There was the one near Dubrillion, the one near Saddleback Station on Corell. The hotspots that criminals of his kind knew and abused on a regular basis. And she’d taken the information to Jan Dodonna, offering to raid the stores herself with a small group, to get her hands dirty and do the work herself.
Dodonna had denied her request, said he was shocked that the princess of Alderaan would resort to such base tactics.
But Han… well, Han understood. Because Leia had nothing. No one. And she herself was desperate. If someone destroyed a homeworld, don’t they deserve to lose something, too? Not just the weapon itself but everything?
As someone who’d seen the back end of desperation more than a few times in his life, he knew how it looked. And he knew how it festered in the gut, how it roiled and raged until released.
That’s how she looked now, he thought. Like the seal might pop at any moment.
“Happy Sweetheart’s Day, sweetheart,” he said into the cold air.
Her back stiffened and she turned her head to the side just enough for him to catch her profile but not enough to see her eyes.
“Go away, Captain,” she said.
Han grinned to himself, happy with her fire. “What has Her Highness planned for her date tonight?”
She turned her face back to the viewport in front of her, a princess-shaped outline against the stars. “What date?” she said.
Her voice sounded brittle and bitter. Like one good hard kick might end her. But Leia Organa wasn’t a total mystery to him. He didn’t understand her idealism, he didn’t understand her passion for peace and justice and freedom. Her pedigree or whatever the hell the goddamned kings and queens of the galaxy called it. Whatever made some people better than others.
But he understood strength. He understood courage.
“Lemme guess,” he baited. “Antilles?”
That provoked a reaction. She turned around to give him a narrow look. “What are you going on about?”
“Not Antilles,” he said to himself but loud enough for her to hear. “What about Preytr? She’s got a mighty big crush on you, you know.”
Leia lifted her chin. “Nice eyes, too,” she said after a moment.
Han was thrilled. A response! He had assumed this was going to be a one-way banter. “Sure does.”
Han waited a beat, holding her eyes, and then Leia’s mouth turned up into a reluctant smile. Soft and … not inviting. Not anywhere near inviting. But friendly. And Han relaxed his stance a bit.
“Unfortunately for Lieutenant Preytr, I despise Sweetheart’s Day,” Leia said. “It’s sentimental and ridiculous. I don’t have time for such things.”
Han pressed his lips together and nodded. “Unfortunate for all of us. I bet royal dates are really something, huh?”
And then a smile, a genuine smile, from the depths of her small body, and Han’s heart stuttered to a halt right then and there.
“You have no idea, flyboy,” she said.
She turned back around to resume her vigil of the stars and Han knew that was his cue to leave. Still warm with the shock of her smile, he nodded to himself, shoved his hands into his jacket pockets and took a few steps back. He was just about to turn and leave her alone when he heard his name, issued from the woman at the far end of the corridor.
The one he already knew he adored. The only one that made his blood run hot, made his brain fry in ways he’d never thought it could. The only one that could make him duck and turn around and leave her to her own devices because she’d damn well proved she could handle it all, everything, without needed anyone else.
What he’d wanted to say to her was that he hoped she found distraction tonight, distraction from her unholy loneliness and pain. In Antilles’ arms or Luke’s or Peytr’s—though he thought he knew her preferences by now, as pretty as Preytr’s eyes were—but he wanted her to smile like that again. To whomever she wanted, with a friend or a lover or just the viewport in front of her. He wanted her to get a break from herself, whatever that meant for her.
“Yeah, Worship?” he asked instead.
She clasped her hands behind her back, tilted her chin up and said, very softly, “Happy Sweetheart’s Day.”
He nodded though she couldn’t see it and turned around, walking away, imagining what it might feel like to hear her say that again, for real.
It’ll never happen, he reprimanded himself, and went back to the Falcon, slightly-better cup of caf completely forgotten.

Rhaegar and Lyanna isn’t Romantic
I’m gonna‘ explain my theory and it’s spread a bit thin so it‘s probably not totally correct. Besides that, I really hope it isn’t true because poor Lyanna deserves better.
Trigger Warning below the ‘Read Here’ for child abuse & grooming.
“Until he rode right past his wife Elia Martell, and all the smiles died. I've never seen so many people so quiet.“ -Peytr Baelish
This is where Peytr is recounting the Tourney at Harrenhal. We already know that it was a huge scandal as Rhaegar was a married man with children who ignored his wife, placing it on a young girl instead. However, it was more of a scandal because that said girl was already promised to another. Massive scandal.
There’s no way Rhaegar didn’t anticipate this happening. There’s no way he thought that this wouldn’t shock people, and there was a lot of people there as it was a tourney and the Crown Prince was there.
(I realise this whole point could be overruled if it’s revealed that Rhaegar really is a massive idiot who doesn’t realise the effects of any of his actions. Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and presume he has a few brain cells.)
So why did he make such a distinct action in front of everyone, knowing the reaction he would get?
He was so stupidly in love with Lyanna he couldn’t help himself.
This goes with my bracketed snark. I find this highly unlikely as Rhaegar was a Crown Prince and heir to the Seven Kingdoms. he would have been taught politics from a young age and likely knew that everyone has to be chosen carefully and every action can have a thousand meanings. I find it odd if he really lost all sense because of this young girl he’d nevr seen before captured his heart and that was that.
or
He was manipulating a young, innocent girl into feeling something for him
This is what I really hope isn't true. Lyanna, as fierce as she was, was still young and not as experienced in politics and courtly behaviour as Rhaegar was, not only due to his royal upbringing but also the fact that he was older and had more time to learn these things. Lyanna was also a girl most likely going through puberty - hormones, crushes, all those things were going on. It's natural for her to be enticed by the new and unknown.
This gives him the advantage. If he makes a big spectacle all for her, a spectacle that he ‘got in trouble for’ (aka bad reputation) she’ll feel guilty and obligated to give him attention, maybe even affection, to make up for it. After all, he did it all for her, right?
It’s the perfect opportunity for Rhaegar to worm himself closer to her and gain her trust and an affection not borne out of obligation, essentially cementing himself into her heart. With this, he can now convince her to do things out of character, like running away with him and having sex.
Before we continue, I’d like to pause and think about what we know so far.
Fact: She didn't leave a letter when she ran away with him to Dorne. She didn’t tell anybody.
Fact: Rhaegar was older than her.
Fact: She went to Dorne. A proud Northerner who had typical Stark personality traits (the Northernest of the Houses) went to Dorne?!
Fact: She was given the crown of Winter Roses as a symbol of being crowned the Queen of Love and Beauty.
You’ll see why in a minute but just think about those facts for a minute.
Child grooming is described as: When someone builds an emotional connection with a child to gain their trust for the purposes of sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or trafficking.
Signs include:
be very secretive, including about what they are doing online
have older boyfriends or girlfriends
go to unusual places to meet friends
have new things such as clothes or mobile phones that they can't or won't explain
have access to drugs and alcohol.
Remember those facts from earlier? See how they measure up. Admittedly, the last one can’t really translate in to Westerosi culture as it’s not unusual for older children to be given wine and alcohol.
If what I think happened actually happened, and Lyanna was groomed by Rhaegar, then George R Martin managed to put something way more disturbing than the Red Wedding right in front of us and it slipped right past.
I’m going to end it here but if anyone has any more evidence, I’ll gladly add it on (with credit, of course)
- all facts about child grooming came from the NSPCC
