Another unnecessarily long break, perhaps partly because I've got an upsetting number of tags open and even finding Tumblr is a hassle.

Swamped with work I'm not at all in the mood for, so I've been procrastinating as hard as I can, and spending money like there's no tomorrow. (Although to be fair, I did get almost a 15% pay rise.) Pet store order, The Ordinary sale, repurchases from NowZenith, big Sellpy order with the intent to try stuff on and probably return, etc.

Since we've had a relatively decent cold snap, I've at least managed the yearly chore of taking all my wool, silk, etc., items to overnight on the balcony as a means of moth control, and have reorganized my wardrobe upon bringing them all back in. I have actually done a decent job getting use out of my wintery sweaters - only 2 I haven't worn at all this year, and one because I'm too fat for it and am currently very over v-necks, and the other I will try to give a go, but will probably donate it in the spring (it's soft and not ugly, but I've since found better ones). Less so with cardigans, a couple of them I am arguably too fat for, again, but I've just got too many. And lots of trousers I'm not wearing at all, and haven't worn a skirt nor a dress in months.

I need to mind my calories a bit more. And aim for 150 min of moderate to intense physical activity per week, because I don't think I'm currently getting that.

In other news, am low-key freaking out over my eyesight, that is, my left eye seems to be extremely short-sighted now, to the point where using a laptop is annoying, since both eyes open gives me semi-blurry vision. I mean, one of my eyes has pretty much always lagged behind - not that I'm sure it's always been the same one; the lag showed up again pretty soon after I got laser, but the first eye doc I saw a year post-op at the same clinic, which should have paid for a revision in case there were issues, just fobbed me alllll the way off. (I should have refused to leave unless she answers my questions.) Then, a few years later at a different clinic, I got a prescription for glasses since I was becoming slightly short-sighted again, but once I actually went to get said glasses many months later, it became obvious it was not sufficient for the left eye, and now it seems there's been further deterioration. I've intended to see an optometrist this entire autumn, but haven't gotten round to it... am kind of thinking I should see an eye specialist on top of that. If it's just short-sightedness returning, I might consider another round of laser for one eye.

Sleep cycle is at a terrible place again, and it's depressing to only wake up while the last of the daylight is fading.

5. are you self-conscious of your smile? - i think it’s one of the few things i’m not self-conscious about, actually. i like my smile.

8. what artistic medium do you use to express your feelings? - writing, often poetry but sometimes prose. i like creating playlists, too, and singing.

9. do you like singing/humming to yourself? - yeah, i sing to myself all the time. whatever song i have stuck in my head at the moment.

32. tell us a story of something that happened to you after 3AM when you were with friends. - i went to a waffle house at 5am with a friend and some friends of hers i’d just met on her birthday. we were all really drunk, the food took forever, and it tasted awful, but we were happy and laughing.

48. what was your biggest fear as a kid? is it the same today? - my dad told me a story once, about when i was a kid. he said that he and i were walking together near the lake in the neighborhood across from mine. i was holding his hand, and i said to him that this was the happiest time in my life because i wouldn't be the same when i grew out of being a child. i think i have the same fear now--that i'll never be that happy again.

- my dog shiver is turning into a little old man, but he still acts like a puppy. he likes attention and whines to communicate. he'll greet you at the door and put his front paws on your thighs to say hi. follows you all around the house. loves to cuddle.

- my pigeon spirit is young and vocal. she coos for attention. when i go to sleep, she grunts every time i move to ask where i am and if i'm okay. i take showers with her and sit on the tile; she puffs up right into my side and sticks her wings out for me to splash water on her. she likes to be close to me to get neck scritches and push her head into my neck and preen every bit of me she can.

- a lot probably

- i dunno they're cute

- it's white wallpaper with pink roses along the top and ribbons of pink and green striped vertically. my mom chose it before i was born.

- they sort of remind me of dark water where everything is reflected back in it--not just the sky but the trees and people walking--and they make you want to look closer because you know there's something in there, it's not just a reflection, like flat glass. but it's hidden until you dio your hand in the pictures broken.

- pretty good

- i don't look at albums

- not really, but watchmen is one of my favorites.

- in college with jacob, although i wouldn't really call it joking. we just walked through a state park. it was beautiful.

- idk. i feel like i'd make the same mistakes if i went back, but the future scares me.
