Tim Drake as Red Hood

So I haven’t gotten good pictures yet, but! Here’s the photos I got my Tim Drake Red Hood cosplay!

Inspired by the art by @notholaenas and I’m blaming @disillusioneddanny for sending me the art that caused this spiral.

(I tried to edit this once already and it glitched and removed my edit?)

THE PROCESS

So I started looking at the pictures and breaking down what I needed

• Vest

•shirt

•belt

•holster

•mask

•gloves

1) The Vest

Starting with the Vest I went to Joann’s and found a fabric and some Dye. The fabric I found was too pink? But a little red and brown dye and a pot of boiling water and wa-lah the deep red we needed.

I patterned the vest based off a formal vest I had and modified the pattern to my body specifics and added the hood.

Including the black lining. The hood doesn’t look like it’s line but it is actually completely lined.

2) The Shirt

I got real lucky and the athleisure fabrics were on sale. I only used maybe 1 yard of black athleisure wear.

I drew and cut out a pattern of my Red Hood symbol. Based off the art I saw his symbol was different but I just did not have a clear enough picture of it to figure it out?

I actually made this twice because the first time accidentally ended up as a crop top? So uh new swim top I guess?

I had to get specialty vinyl for the symbol because it had to be able to adhere to the stretchy fabric.

3) The Rest

So there rest of it I don’t have photos for but know I ended up having to sand, prime and repaint my fake pew pew for him as well as make the holster and the belt I use in my cosplay. I ended up dying the white 2in belting I got for him and used leftover belting for the holster.

In the art there’s different hardware but considering how long it took for me to pattern that holster I am going to opt to not do that again if I can avoid it lmao.

I now have a mask for him but my friend who is also another red hood cosplayer has graciously given me their old mask!

I think there's a side of radblr that ppl don't really see where women are accepting of mistakes, where they don't shame you for being detransitioned, where being a victim of sex trafficking and resulting trauma responses is handled as the mental health crisis it is instead of a moral failing, but that's not always the community women in need are immediately exposed to when looking for help, and it does worry me that these women will see radical feminists judging them before they see us accepting them and offering help to them. not every woman is perfect, yeah, I agree, and accountability is hugely important, but some of y'all are more focused on ideological purity than helping actual women in real life and it comes off as equally overly online as TRA type stuff. feminism is about helping women, not making sure every woman you help is deserving.

okay no one asked but here is what the party is doing in bath & body works (i am u.s. american and have no idea if they have this overseas, so uh. if they don't and u are confused: it is basically a store where you can buy scented candles and lotions and stuff and it gives you a headache when you walk in because of all the smells. basically all u need to know)

ok. anyway.

el: goes in. smells every candle in the store. tries every "try me!!" lotion and body spray. leaves with a bottle of hand sanitizer or something. almost accidentally signs up for spam emails at the register before max stops her

max: goes in to buy the same lotion/body butter/shower gel/whatever else scent every time. she sticks to what she knows. HOWEVER she is not immune to smelling all of the new scents on the shelves and gagging when they are all unequivocally terrible compared to hers (the best one, obviously) (she's so me)

lucas: smells all of the candles with el. jokingly shoves all of the shitty scents in mike's face to make him gag (mike does the same back ofc). ends up buying like 5 candles because they're on sale or something

mike: hates the store because it gives him a headache. goes in and buys something anyway because it's there. probably shower gel or something. maybe body spray if he thinks will will like it (he totally does not watch will to see what scents he likes and then buys them immediately after. why would he do that. he has Never done that.)

will: buys three different lotions because they're on sale and he can't pick which one he likes the most. engages in candle sniffing with el and lucas. also engages in spraying body spray onto the little testing strips with max and gagging because most of them smell terrible

dustin: yk those scent things that you plug into the wall and they stink up your house. yeah. he buys like 10 of those and everyone is terrified of going in his house because it's like walking into a bottle of perfume. he claims the scents calm him even though everyone else is about to pass out from the fumes

With the smoker-Will discourse in the tag, I thought I would share this article that talks about how ST and the huge role of smoking in the first few seasons and a study related to it, has literally lead Netflix to vow to cut down on smoking in their content.

This is also part of the reason why we saw little to no smoking in s4 and also why we’re likely to see little to none in s5.

They’re lucky they have the excuse that it’s the end of the world so chain smoking would be a pretty shitty habit to find yourself in.

Anyways, sorry to the smoker-Will enthusiasts, but it’s looking like a pipe dream…

tbh anon this is a very funny ask for me personally because I started the thread for the story on discord (and thus was given the power to put preferences that other writers have to abide by when joining the thread/writing for the fic)

(which is why the fic is present tense but I digress)

and one of my only preferences was that this would all be in Anakin’s POV and honestly I stand by the decision!! I think it’s delicious to have obi-wan’s pov written on his face and in his actions for the readers but also have mr. unreliable narrator anakin skywalker misinterpret everything obi-wan says or does (when we as the readers know obi-wan is just as in love with anakin as anakin is with him)

there is very much a story to be told in obi-wan’s pov, but also I think the most important parts of that story are told through anakin’s eyes….even when he doesn’t understand what he’s seeing

REHEARSAL OUTFITS FINAL RESULTS

with an overwhelming sweep of 72.1% of the votes, taichi takes his second W 🥳🥳 (first was the autumn outfits category) in second place we have literally the most unathletic piece of sofa fluff ever (affectionate) itaru with 27.9% of the votes (i mean the criteria was for the outfit to look good not for the person wearing it to actually be fit sooo)

the third place showdown was really interesting to watch bc the lead kept changing, but guy has emerged victorious with 34.6% of the votes! after him are juza (24.7%), azami (21%), and masumi (19.8%)
