#I’VE WAITED 16 YEARS TO SEE HIM AS ANAKIN AGAIN #dude i get really emotional sometimes thinking about hayden and how giddy he was to be a part of the SW universe and to get to wear the #vader gear and to play with lightsabers and to be such a central character (really THE central character if you think about it) and how he #was treated so poorly and met with such vitriol from the fans and critics and how he’s never been able to escape the memes people made at #his expense #and how only recently the tide has turned and people are recognizing how perfect he was for the role of anakin and how even the ‘whininess’ #that everyone teased him for was actually key to anakin’s character #and now i’d say the reception is overwhelmingly positive and affectionate #but i remember at the SW celebration event back in 2017 (as recently as 2017!!!) he seemed FLOORED by the adoration he received from fans #and how stoked everyone was to see him come out on that stage #and yeah part of it is probably because he’s not on social media so he doesn’t see the accolades every day but i’m sure after years of being #the star wars punching bag or scapegoat for everything wrong with the series you just internalize it #so to be met with so much love and affection after all those years must have been such a positive shock to him #anyway!!! five years ago i never would’ve expected him to rejoin the SW universe in any capacity and NOW!!!!!!
