#wasps and hornets are very beautiful
Text
Ducking my head, leaning forward under the lift gate of the brown AMC Hornet, dropping my arms worth of tree chunks, discarded remnants of a logging site, firewood for our week camping
Wiping away the stinging sweat getting into my eyes, I felt my fingers sticky from tree sap, that off putting, unnaturally disturbing feeling of the sides of your fingers joining together and pulling apart as you flex your hand, especially that section from big knuckle to the webbing.
I hated collecting firewood, it was hot, we had to be careful not to disturb a wasp nest, rolling your ankle is a very real possibility, and my shirt had become a wet weight of reminder that it was high 90s and humid.
I bent down grasped a handful of sand as best I could from the gravel road and rubbed my hands together like it was soap, it helped coat the pitch, now it felt stiff and weird when I flexed my fingers, a gentle breeze kicked up and I shivered a moment, enjoying the reprieve.
That was our last load, my dad in front of the car walking up towards a stretch of road that had thick cat-tails, a pond of some sort. I see him step inside and disappear from view. Nothing unusual. I would do similar, I still like to explore and muck around, though not usually in the muck of a swamp.
I start to walk up to where he went in. I hear him excitedly say "what the heck"!, I pause, I see commotion from the cat-tails, like the tall grass being disturbed by velociraptors. I smile at the mental site of them running out onto the road.
My dad "run"! He screams, then I see him frantically run into the gravel road, black mud flying from his feet, eyes wide. "run like hell"!
I heard a long, whooshing sound, like a tire that is losing so much air, a steady drawn sound. Then I saw a huge impossible version of what I've seen before, round thick head, giant, it was all head, thicker as it goes towards it's base, this looked surreal, as wide and long like manhole cover, a tail looked like a rat tail only thick as my fist and a foot long
I see the opening of its mouth, beak? Half of his giant head opened up, Jaws wide, big enough to wrap around a calf or forearm. It was worse than a fucking velociraptor, this was an angry prehistoric tank of a snapping turtle, it's shell chipped and ragged, and it was thrashing as the gravel surface, with powerful legs and claws, plums of dust and rock flying, all wheel drive fury as it was chasing my dad.
Hissing loudly, I see him gaining on my dad, my dad definitely not an athlete, also wearing wet, muddy, water shoes, he's slipping in the gravel, I see him snap, heard the jaws snap, sounded crazy, looked worse than I ever imagined, this thing was bad ass!
As he snapped, he pivoted his body, towards dads trailing foot, almost made contact with his ankle. I knew in moment they were half way to car, dad's instinct is to open car door to take refuge and see if this living dinosaur could tear through dark brown painted sheet metal and tear apart a car.
I also knew dad would slow down to open door and didn't want to see chunk of lower leg ripped off, so I ran straight as this damn thing and pressed between it and dad, and purposely tapped his shell with my foot as I got to the right of it. The contact made it stop, turn towards me, I see cold eyes and open jaws as it lunges my direction, I turn around run up the road towards swamp, it followed, I turn, shoot across road to logging field, run around the few trees, loop back to car, get back to road, angry little dude was where I entered the field, looking for me.
I sat next to my dad in the car, sweat pouring down my face, watching the beauty of this creature as it sat in the middle of the road chilling.
We even got out and stayed back. Just watching, was a beautiful turtle, we didn't have cell phones, not like we carry cameras, so we just watch and drink warm, jug water.
I had asked my dad was that necessary to try to die when we know mom would be upset at that, he said he was looking to see if he saw water large enough to fish in, and didn't see it buried in the mud and when he accidentally stepped on its tail, it scared the shit out of each of them.
Eventually the thing slowly disappeared back into it's habitat, dad told mom we saw a small turtle, she said cute did you pick It up, I just laugh.
Those are moments in time that after years of going through every situation in life with my dad, that I learn to slide the bad/unhappy memories away to the back of my storage locker and think about the moments in our life instead that were definitely worth remembering.

Old Hornet specie drawings
AHHHHHHHHHHHHGHGGGGGG
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I feel like Hornets are diverse in just types. Wasps do have some diversity but not environmental species.
WARNING: THIS IS GONNA BE SO LONGGGGGG
Eastern Hornet
Diet - Berries, wild creatures and mostly aquatic creatures. They love potatoes for some reason. They also love eating aquatic creature eggs. Eastern Hornets are omnivores, not carnivores.
Society/royalty - All Easterners live in the hive or surrounding area. The hive, also known as Berry Hive, is built to have multiple rooms for housing upperclass members. Adult males work in the army but can choose to have a different job like baking bread. The male children of the queen can be generals, or just people who live on the highest level of the hive. OH YEAH I FORGOT TO MENTION, Berry Hive is ABSOLUTELY HUMONGOUS. Their hierarchy is just the queen, princesses and princes, the royal army, workers, unemployed, children, and criminals/prisoners. They do not have last names like Wasps but each family has a name like Hunter or Skywatch. It works like a last name but it lasts forever and can’t change. When two hornets with different family names have offspring, the offspring gets the mother’s family name. When the queen dies, her eldest daughter takes the throne unless the queen chooses a different one before she dies.
Appearance - All of them have orange, yellow, and a golden colour. They have brownish-black fur patterns. All of them also have long fur distinguishing where their elbow is. Royalty can have more beautiful patterns including spirals and random stars in their fur. Their stinger is thick and sharp but thinner than a bees. Their eyes are usually brown but can be green or blue which is commonly seen in royals. If born on a full blood moon then they will have more reddish fur, shiny black eyes, and stars in their fur. This is why they avoid trying to have their offspring hatch during this weird event. Eclipse can also affect appearance, like having spiral patterns in their eyes and darker or lighter colours, this also makes them more aggressive or depressive… or maybe something happened in their life… BLAME THE DAY THEY WERE HATCHED ON!
Northern Hornet
Diet - Mostly aquatic creatures, artic plants and traded foods. Northerners are Omnivores.
Society/royalty - There is multiple tiers and people can go up the tiers. The queen is the highest ranking with her princesses under her. The princes are also high ranking and are treated like royal cousins. In order for a princess to take the throne they must go through trials where they LITERALLY FIGHT TO THE DEATH FOR THE THRONE… I mean go girly! The sibling that lives takes the throne. All princesses must be 18 or more winters before the FIGHT TO THE DEATH HAPPENS!!! But a queen can choose not to do it and let the youngest take the throne as they will be able to rule longer, yes, a four winter year old can take the throne. Also ages are a little messed up because it’s literally winter all the time, someone could be twenty-three years old but be considered sixteen. The ranks are the queen, her heirs, outside royal family and princes, workers, children, unemployed, war prisoners and criminals. Children are often shoved into an academy at three winters.
Appearance - Northern Hornets are often cool colours, like blues and purples and some greens. Pink can appear in hornets. They have the biggest fur around their elbows. They have glossy black eyes and very sharp teeth. THE BLOOD MOON APPEARS AGAIN! When a Northerner is born on a blood moon, they have more pinkish fur and darker blues. When born during an Aurora, their wings reflect it and they have the colours seen in the beautiful lights. Their antennae are sharper at the ends.
Western Hornet
Diet - Cactus fruits, desert creatures, and plants. They have a cultural dish of a desert grub husk filled with its meat and a mixture of cactus fruits and native vegetables with cheese sauce.
Society/royalty - The hierarchy is similar to the Souther Hornets. The queen, her princesses, princes, royal family and the queen’s friends, adult workers, children, unemployed, and any criminals and prisoners. When the queen dies, the youngest princess will take the throne and the older daughters will become generals/or instructors to their younger sister’s children. When children reach five winters, they are thrown into an academy. Princes are not considered high royalty.
Appearance - Thin/scrawny build, smaller fur around elbows. Desert colours, yellows, oranges, and pinkish oranges. Their eyes are black and glossy. Their stinger is thin and sharp. They do not change because of their hatching day. They have brown wings.
Southern Hornets
Diet - Southern creatures, and southern plants. They commonly eat fruit from mountain ranges. Southern Hornets are omnivores, mostly carnivorous.
Society/royalty - They have a chill society. Children go into an academy at two winters and stay till eighteen winters. The queens heirs cast a voting after she dies, the people choose what princess they want. They often choose the nicest. The hierarchy is the queen, her princesses, princes and royal family, workers and children, unemployed, and criminals. They treat the poor equally and allow them to get jobs easily.
Appearance - They have dark blues, oranges, desaturated dark reds that look brown, and orange-reds. They have a lot of fur around their elbows. When born under an eclipse they have darker colours with star patterns. When born under a full moon, they have very light and nighttime colours.
SHOULD I REMAKE THESE OLD DRAWINGS AND ADD THE HYBRIDS (Southwest, Northeast)
Thank you for listening

Big Bug Appreciation Post! (2/2)
Part two of my favorite local bugs. Let’s go!
30. Picture-Winged Fly
Tumblr media
I think these guys are super neat. They don’t show up very often but they look really funky and I think that’s pretty cool.
31. Asiatic Oak Weevil
Tumblr media
I found one of these in my bathroom. They’re absolutely tiny, but so adorable 🩶.
32. Drain Fly
Tumblr media
Also called “moth flies.” They’re the cutest little menaces to public restrooms I’ve ever seen 🤎🤎.
33. Swamp Cicada
Tumblr media
Surprisingly gorgeous for both a cicada and a swamp animal. There are actually multiple cicada species that are pretty, but this is just one of them. I guess the overall lesson here is to never underestimate the wonders of swamps and wetlands.
34. Luna Moth
Tumblr media
I bet you already knew I was gonna mention these beauties at some point. Just like everywhere else they’re native to, they’re rare. On top of being rare, They're also primarily nocturnal, so if you ever see a Luna Moth in person, consider yourself lucky. I’ve seen two in person, and one even peed on my hand put of fear (I put her somewhere she’d feel safe after that). It smelled a lot like soap.
35. Bald-Faced Hornet
Tumblr media
I love wasps, but I love black-and-white wasps even more. So I love getting to see Bald-Faced Hornets 🖤🤍.
36. Metallic Woodboring Beetle
Tumblr media
I’ve encountered one of these. They move really weird, almost funky. Kinda like how you’d assume a super-advanced robot bug to move. Very cool. I like these guys.
37. Common Buckeye Butterfly
Tumblr media
The butterflies look really cool, and I love all their false eyes. But if I’m being honest, the only reason I really bring these guys up is because of their caterpillars.
Tumblr media
These little guys look so cool. And this is what I got to hold once. I love them. I hope they visit more often.
38. Monarch Butterfly
Tumblr media
Monarchs rarely ever visit. I’ve only ever seen one in the garden, and that was either in the mid-to-late fall. But my mom got some milkweed recently, so fingers crossed!
And that’s all the bugs I have for you guys. I hope you enjoyed me talking about my thoughts on all these cool critters. 💪🔥💪💪🔥💪

clover was born in the late june heat in austin, texas in the year 1998. her mother, an emergency room nurse and her father, an emt met while working and it was (according to them) love at first sight. their love for each other was certainly not lost on their only daughter, clover, and she grew up being doted on. while they didn't have much in terms of material items, and while her parents were a little strict, they always had love for each other.
as a child clover exceeded expectations when it came to her studies, excelling especially in english and art, all the way through high school, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. along the way she really fell in love with pottery and ceramics, and longed to do it for a living, but her strict parents were not fond of the idea and she attended the local community college to become an emergency room nurse, like her mother, while secretly taking as many art courses as she possibly could.
almost directly after clover graduated and moved out on her own, her mother was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. she passed six months later. clover moved from her small apartment back into her childhood home to be with her father in the most difficult time in their lives.
about three months ago clover's father convinced her that it was okay for her to leave home again so she found an apartment in the art district, much to the chagrin of her father, and continued working as an e.r. nurse... but after her mothers passing she realized life is too short to not do what you want to do. since then she's been making as much pottery as she can while still working her day job, and she's been selling her pieces online and making quite a bit of money (some examples of her ceramics are here, here and here).
h e a d c a n o n s .
has been a vegetarian since she was eight, and almost went into animal medicine because of her love for animals. she also has an orange maine coon named hades, who is her pride and joy.
is allergic to shellfish.
listens to all kinds of music, but is having a bit of a kpop period at the current time, and is really into itzy. her other favorites include stray kids, twice, g(idle) & kiss of life.
doesn't usually drink, is almost always the DD, and because of this she has a very low tolerance for alcohol.
has a major sweet tooth, and often tries (and usually fails) to make difficult baked goods she see's on the food network.
started collection seashells with her mother when she was little and now has an extensive collection, as she inherited her mothers.
suffers from g.a.d. (generalized anxiety disorder) and panic attacks.

@trashfriend submitted: First time submitter, greetings from Australia! I just came into posession of this today, and I was wondering if there's any chance you knew what type of friend this is. The box it came in says hornet, and made in China, so I'm assuming it's probably from somewhere in Asia at the very least, and that it actually is a hornet (the grid in the back is cm for scale). I apologize if this is too vague for a decent ID, but I've been poring over wasps and hornets trying to get a hit, but nothing I can find has those four thorax stripes. Love your blog, and love what you do!
Hello and welcome to the bug party! This beautiful deceased friend is not a hornet but a paper wasp in the genus Polistes. Of course an exact location of where it came from would be helpful in narrowing down the species, but I’m gonna hazard a guess and say Polistes rothneyi is likely. Examples of that species here!

Hannah waited for the little honeybee to lap up the rose pollen on her finger, its velvety yellow body tickling her skin as it licked and buzzed. After a minute or so, the task was finished, and bidding a fond farewell, the little honeybell turned herself around, flicked her small antennae at the generous human in thanks, and flew off.
“You’re welcome,” Hannah chimed as the insect departed, possibly returning to her hive with the saddlebags of fresh pollen clinging to her legs.
Honeybees were such amazing creatures; Never stopping, never tiring, hurrying from one pollen-filled bloom to the next. Unafraid of new opportunities. Hornets and wasps, however, were mean spirited and highly aggressive, as were German dark bees and the African “killer” bees. Common bumblebees were often mistaken for their honeybee cousins, but were not the same in both size and mannerism and could not produce honey. Other honey-less, distant relatives included ants, sawflies, and the noblest of all hymenoptera, the praying mantis, but none worked harder, nor carried as much environmental importance as the honeybee, which was why Hannah loved them so. The same golden insect emblazoned all over St. Peter's Baldachin and who’s wax was used in making Paschal candles were a gardener’s best friend. It was said that a single bee colony could pollinate close to 300 million flowers in a day, meaning if there were no honeybees - or bees in general - there’d be no flowers. If there were no flowers, there would be no flower gardeners. If there were no gardeners the world would be a much darker and less beautiful place. Crops would fail, as would roughly ¾ of all flowering plants without some sort of human intervention. Not good.
For this reason, Hannah's affection for the honeybee was insatiable. They could do no wrong in her eyes and not once had she been stung. Mother Nature’s little helpers.
Having done her good deed for the day, Hannah wiped her hands over her dirty overalls, put her gloves back on, and picked up her gardening shears and disinfectant wipes. The roses weren’t going to trim themselves.
Last week was spent tirelessly transplanting the roses from Jujutsu High to the Gojo estate. These were the same roses she had planted her first week; the night she was attacked from returning to her dorm after dark. Hannah had woken before sunrise carting the wheelbarrow and a shovel. Finally August, the rose shrubs were now rose bushes and had prospered beautifully in their foreign environment, taking on a deep reddish-purple hue reminiscent of merlot. To minimize any damage she might incur, Hannah surgically dug a moat around the thorny rose shrubs with the shovel, avoiding the delicate root hairs, and used her gloved hands to (again very carefully) unearth each prickly rose bush from the soil. Technically, it was not advisable to transplant roses in the middle of summer when the flowers were beginning to bloom and the sun was at its hottest. They were also covered with leaves and very heavy (for her). Hannah worried the whole procedure would stress the plants, causing them to go into “transplant shock,” but these were no ordinary roses. They would endure, and once all six roses had been successfully uprooted, she enlisted the help of Mr. Aoyama to wheel them up (yes, all the way up) the hill to the house.
They had placed the bushes in their own individual pot. Hannah’s homemade compost wasn’t ready. So she bought a light soilless mixture made of peat moss and perlite instead. Excellent for retaining moisture, yet allow for water to drain properly from the drilled holes at the bottom of the containers. In the end, the hardy roses not only survived the shocking ordeal, but thrived, their ruffled petals blooming like plumage, untraumatized by the event. They weren’t going anywhere. If the attracted honeybees were any indicator.
Hannah ran a disinfectant wipe over the blades and went back to trimming, cutting at a clean forty-five degree angle right above where the stem met another leaf. The clipped rose was then transferred to a water bucket with the others. So far, she had enough roses to make a bouquet for the English dining room. They hardly ever ate in there, but the wine-colored flowers would pair lovely with the oak furnishings.
She began humming a tune. A shadow eclipsed her as she clipped another rose off its stem. She felt a weight land on her braided crown, something like lips and a nose.
“Why’re you doing that?”
Hannah didn’t have to look up to know who it was, not that his voice didn’t give him away. Lately, Satoru liked perching his head on top of hers as a way of grabbing her attention.
“To clean the shears,” she answered, showing him the shears and wipes, his head staying nestled where it was. “Roses are prone to infection, so it’s best to sanitize the blades after each use.” She held up the freshly cut rose for him to take. “Here, smell one.”
Satoru took the multi-layered rose, aware of the thorns, and drew it to his nose. His brows shot straight up. “Woah.” The smell was so sweet and fruity he could literally taste it on his tongue, forcing him to comically choke down a cough.
Hannah tried suppressing a giggle. “Intense, isn’t it?”
The Six Eyes wielder nodded, blinking a few times. “Boy, you’re not kidding.” He cleared his throat and held the fragrant bloom to his nose once more, taking a more moderate whiff. The deep burgundy petals felt velvety soft on his skin. “Smells almost like candy.”
Hannah's smile widened. “These roses were a gift to me from Sister Edith before I came here.”
“Sister Edith,” Satoru mused in thought, rose still pressed to his nose. “You’ve mentioned that name before. Who was she again?”
“She was my Japanese instructor during my stay with the Sisters of St. Horatia. Every word I’m speaking to you is because of her.”
“Ah, now I remember. Sounds like she was quite the lady.”
“Of course. The best.”
“You must miss her then.”
Hannah’s smile slipped a crack. “Very much so,” she spoke somberly, running her hands over the rose petals in her lap. “Edith was fluent in almost every language you could think of, from Greek to Juǀʼhoan. I’ll probably never see her again, circumstances being what they are.”
Satoru’s brows furrowed. “How come?”
Hannah snipped off another rose. “The Sisters of St. Horatia is a cloistered order. They’re not permitted to leave the convent.”
“Wait, for real? Like ever?”
She turned to nod solemnly. “Like ever.”
“That’s a little extreme, don’t you think?”
“It’s the life they chose, Satoru.” Hannah rested the rose on her lap. “The Sisters of St. Horatia are unique in that they’re archivists. They specialize in preserving and interpreting ancient texts. Magical texts. It’s believed their library holds some of the West’s oldest sorcerery. Mother Superior oversees the whole operation.”
“Mother Superior?”
“The abbess,” Hannah said. “In convents, the head nun in charge is called ‘Mother Superior.’ I don’t know what her actual name is. She’s tied closely to the Association and was tasked with facilitating where I went as a child, including my education.”
Satoru’s face perked up. “Oh right, that's what I wanted to talk to you about.”
She stared blankly at him. “You want me to join a convent?”
“Wha — No.” He seemed partially offended. “Why would I want you to join a  — ”
“Relax, silly. I’m teasing,” Hannah said, perhaps a little too happy he took the bait. “Married women aren’t allowed to join convents. As soon as they saw our marital records, I’d be swiftly booted out.”
“Oh.” Her husband’s shoulders drooped. “Well, I wanted to get your thoughts on something. See if you might be interested.”
“Sure, but can you give me a moment to finish with these? I’m almost done.”
Satoru eyed the bouquet of roses she was assembling. “Anything I can do to help?”
Hannah stopped her pruning and thought for a moment. “Actually, now that you’ve mentioned it….” She leaned over and patted the large rose pot in front of her. “I’d like to move this one up to the house, but it’s too heavy. Think you could lend a girl a hand, Mr. Muscles?”
Satoru issued her a mock salut. “Ma’am, yes ma’am,” and rolled his shoulders, biceps and triceps rippling under his shirt. “Watch and be amazed, kiddos. Mr. Muscles is gonna show you how it’s done.”
Topped with heavy soil and plant, the large clay pot weighed well over a hundred pounds. It would’ve easily taken two average-sized people to lift, but Satoru managed the feat on his own no problem, a testament to how strong he physically was. Hannah had seen him bench press twice his usual body weight with workout equipment. Yet she stayed close behind as he hobbled to the house, awkwardly carrying the pot, for fear he’d throw out his back. She didn’t realize she’d been holding her breath until he stationed the container near the stairs leading up to the porch. Hannah nodded. This new spot would do nicely.
“Woo, that was good,” Satoru said, wiping the sweat off his brow and looked up at the sky. “Sun is brutal today.”
Hannah agreed. It had grown considerably hot since lunch. Deciding to take a break from the summer sun, the couple collected the clipped roses and walked back inside the house to the reception hall. There on the center table was a glass pitcher filled with ice water, two cups, two damp towels for each to cool off with, and a vase to put the roses in. Makoto sure was sneaky.
“So,” Hannah said, after finishing her first glass of ice water. “What is it you wanted to talk about?”
Satoru ran one of the cool towels over his neck and chin. “Tsumiki and Megumi’s school evaluations came in.”
Hannah poured herself another glass. “And the verdict?”
He put the towel down and smirked. “Take a look for yourself.” She observed him reach inside his back pocket and pull out two opened envelopes. Curious, Hannah walked over and took them from him, re-opening each and laying the contents on the table for a better look.
Japanese primary school evals (from first to sixth grade) were assessed by a three-tiered rank system (1,2,3), with 1 indicating the student “needs effort,” and 3 indicating the student’s grasp on the subject was “satisfactory” or higher. Hannah eyed the two report cards, noting how Tsumiki scored nothing below a 2 (“almost satisfactory”) with Music, Social Studies, and Japanese being her best subjects. Megumi also received high marks. The lowest he scored was a 2 in Music and English, with Mathematics, Science, Sports (and surprisingly enough, Art) all scoring a 3.
Below the subject lines were the behavior evaluations where teachers listed the students' cooperation in class, both towards staff and the other children. Hannah skimmed those parts, but caught the underlined text “gets into fights” on Megumi’s page. Perhaps she would ask about it later, though overall she was pleased by the outcome.
“See, I told Megumi he had nothing to worry about,” she laughed. “He did well, and from the looks of it, so did Tsumiki.”
“Tsumiki’s scores are always good,” Satoru said. “But Megumi? His English scores? I’ve never seen them stay above a 1. It’s the only subject he struggles with on top of socializing. These are his marks now.” He revealed to her two other evaluation cards, placing them next to the newer one on the table. “And these were his marks from December and March.”
Hannah examined the older evaluations. His grades looked relatively the same, except for English, which showed a glaring 1 printed in the center box on each. His new score was 2. Megumi had improved his grade by a full number in the course of a single semester.
“Any chance you had something to do with it?” Satoru added slyly.
Hannah looked up. “I didn’t do much,” she said, shaking her head. “He understood the basics. All he needed was someone to explain them better.”
Butterflies swarmed her stomach as his lips came together, grinning so wide it seemed almost maniacal. “Good, that’s exactly what I wanted to hear.” Hannah blinked at him confused for a moment, but then he explained his reasoning. “I had a meeting with the school board this morning. Jujutsu High, that is.”
“Yes, I remember you telling me. How’d it go?”
He gave her a wink. “The wait is officially over. You, my dear Hannah, are looking at Jujutsu High’s new hire.”
Hannah’s eyes widened. “Really? They gave you the teaching job?” Satoru nodded and a beaming smile soon appeared on her face. “Oh Satoru, congratulations. That’s wonderful news. I’m happy for you.”
Her husband bashfully scratched his head. “Thanks. My first day won’t be till next year, so there’s still time, but that’s not all.” He lifted a finger, tapping her lightly on the nose. “The department will also be in search of a new English teacher soon.”
Her smile faltered. “An English teacher?”
“Yeah.” Satoru walked over and situated himself down on one of the cushions, leaning his elbow on the table. “Seems the current one is looking to throw in the towel. To be honest, I don’t know much about him - cause yours truly tested out of English freshman year - but apparently he’s been teaching English since the late Cretaceous or whatever, and during the meeting he asked if we knew anybody interested in filling the role,” he pointed at her, “and I said you.”
“M-Me?” Hannah squeaked.
He nodded. “Yeah, you.”
A couple seconds ticked by, the news of this proposal slowly sinking in.
“You’re joking.”
“No, I’m not joking.”
“You think I could teach English at Jujutsu High?
“If you wanted to,” he caveated.
“And the school board wouldn’t mind? Spouses working together, I mean.”
“I don’t see the harm.” Satoru shrugged. “It’s not like English and Jujutsu orbit in the same circles.”
“Why would you mention my name, Satoru? I don’t have a uni degree or a teaching certificate.”
“Neither do I,” her quickly husband rebutted. “I never went to university. The only certification I have is a high school diploma.”
“But that’s still more than I have. And my Japanese citizenship hasn’t been finalized. Won’t that hinder things?”
Satoru waved his hand. “Naw, we’ll find our way around that crap. We do it all the time.”
“Then what of the estate? If we’re both busy teaching, who’s going to run it? Makoto can’t juggle the work all by herself.”
“The estate is busy now because I’ve been putting off renovations for years. Once those are completed things’ll start to die down.”
“I have no credentials, Satoru,” Hannah pleaded, hammering the message home. “No references. No formal education. I don’t even know the first thing about preparing lectures or grading papers, and this would be high school level English, not sixth grade. My public speaking skills are rubbish. I’ll make a complete fool of myself in front of everyone.”
“No, you won’t,” Satoru assured, taking her hands. “I’ll be here to help. Plus, you’ll have a year to prepare, and Jujutsu High’s enrollment has been on the decline for decades. The classes shouldn’t exceed more than a handful of students at most.”
“But what if someone else needs the job?” Hannah kept lamenting. “Someone with experience who’s better qualified. I’d be selfishly taking the opportunity away from them.”
“Then that’s their loss,” Satoru tisked, rolling his eyes. “Don't get me wrong, Princess, I admire your compassion - love it even - but we gotta strike while the iron is hot here. Nobody is gonna shame you for being ambitious every once in a while. The reason I’m asking is because I think you’d be right for the job. Give you something to do besides loafing around the house all day making flower arrangements,” he tucked a strand of loose auburn hair behind her ear, his new favorite habit, and tilted her chin up to look at him as his voice grew soft. “Can’t have those good brains go to waste now, hmm?”
Hannah looked away, a flush forming on her cheeks. “Flower arranging isn’t ‘loafing around,’” she pouted, crossing her arms. “I've been outside since dawn.”
She felt Satoru bridge the gap between them, wrapping her in his embrace.
“Look,” he sighed defeatistly in her hair. “Forget I said anything. It’s obvious you're not interested.”
Rather than push him away, Hannah leaned more into him, resting her head comfortably on his chest. She felt so safe there, entranced by the steady rhythm of his heart. “I never said I wasn’t interested,” she mumbled into his cotton tee. “I’m simply questioning how it would work.”
“Oh, it would work,” he chuckled deeply, chest rumbling under her cheek. “I’d make it work.”
“You shouldn’t use your position to land me a job, Satoru. It’ll be seen as corrupt.”
“Hey, there’s gotta be some perks to being me,” he joked. “Not like I’d have to say much. You’re from England, the frickin’ motherland of English. What other credentials would they need?”
“A lot.”
He laughed and undid her braid, combing his fingers through her long shiny hair. She didn’t tell him no because it felt nice. “Just tell me you’ll think about it, okay?” he said. “Pretty please with a cherry on top?”
“But what about — “
“Nope, no more buts.”
“But I — “
“Access denied.”
“Satoru.”
“Satoru is unable to take your call at this time. Please leave a message and he will get back with you after this obnoxiously long beep. Beeeeeeeeeee…. ”
Hannah slumped and let out the smallest exhale, thus giving up the fight. “Fine, I’ll think about it.”
He paused mid-beep.
“Really?”
“Yes, really.”
“Yay!” He hugged her closer, lifting her off the ground and swaying back and forth. “Knew you wouldn’t let me down, Princess. I knew it, knew it, knew it.”
Hannah couldn’t help but smile. Cheek smothered against him, he placed her back on the ground, allowing her to tilt her head up.
The Six Eyes were like twin spheres of blue abalone, shining down at her. She could see every shade and tint; turquoise, chalcedony, larimar, the sky and sea. How she adored looking at his eyes. They were none of this world. Magnetized, she found herself standing on her tippy toes, lips soft and pliant, wanting to be nearer. Words needn’t be exchanged. Satoru got the message and lowered his hands to her hips. Gravity became weightless as he propelled her upwards again, bringing their mouths together, her body melting into his sweet kiss.
It was good they had these moments to fall back on because the next few days would not be as kind. This was but the calm before the storm.
Rougher waters lay ahead.

Hi, Julie!!!
For the ask game, 8, 13, 14, 38, 41 and F! :)
Hello sweetie and thank you som much for the question. 🤗
8 What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child
She was rebel since childhood, doing what she wanted when she wanted to, it was impossible to rule her she obeyed only if she felt like it, she was left free to do as she pleased but mind you this isn't a sign she was rude quite the contrary, in fact she was polite and kind, more with the ones she cared about, but pretty much with everyone else too, even though she was wary and shy with them.
She was an introvert, and found little pleasure in the company of others, except Luke that is, so one thing she may have been encouraged to do, with little to no success, was to be more open with other children and to play with them.
The one thing she was chided about was sometimes to hide her opinion, to avoid conflicts.
13 What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?
She likes greens, especially emerald, teal and jade, and luckily the range of colors she likes are also the ones that fit her the best, they match with her green eyes underlining her fair complexion.
She also like red, but due to the fact she did not desire to attract unwanted attention on her, she wore it rarely only with shawls and cardigans, never for complete dresses.
14 What animal do they fear most?
She is afraid the most about spiders, especially cellar spiders, while she didn't mind more little ones, and also of wasps and hornets and so she always change path when she see one.
38 What memory do they revisit the most often?
She became nostalgic when she is upset, all the good memories of the times she spent with Luke, especially those of when they children, flow back to her breaking her heart ever so softly, he is the only one able to stop her tears holding her and reassuring her with sweet words that he needs her, that his place is at her side and nowhere else, that they will be together forever, that he loves her more than anyone and anything, proving it to her as he did his very best to cheer her up.
When she was happy instead she loves to rethink about their first encounter, or about the promise they made to one another one day.
If she feels particularly clingy she rethink about their marriage day, more in detail about the first time they set foot in their cottage, and inevitably this leads her to feel warm and seek him, always nearby, to cuddle.
41 How do they feel about children?
Julie is the last born daughter of her family, be it she never had occasion to interact with many children herself, but she did found them quite noisy and low key annoying a little bit, even though she liked to see them smile or laugh.
As a female she was raised to face what her future would have entailed with marriage and children, she played with dolls of all kinds and often set entire scenarios to play family with Luke, she was so happy when he joined her so much she often asked him to do that, and he promptly agreed doing anything to make her happy.
It was though only after they went to live in town, before their marriage, that she starts thinking about them for real, slowly a desire to start a family with Luke start budding in her mind and heart keeping her warm.
She couldn't help but think of how beauty it would been to create something out of their love ... but then she thinks about their duties and how a child will surely get in the way, hiding her yearning for it, feeling shy to face the question even with herself let alone propose that to him.
For this she didn't speak to him right away about that desire even more because she was not really sure he wanted one too, afraid he would push away that idea, but he noticed her eyes wandering on children and her dreamy sigh, so after a while he approach the discussion with her, his confession he shared her dream made her immensely happy and so after their marriage, they spent much time showing their love to one another thoroughly.
Even though their desire is always left to chance, if children came they will welcome them, if they don't they will still love one another all the same, nothing will change for either of them.
F What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?
I think the prevalent emotions is excitement, I love her so much and it feels me with happiness to create something to make both her and her precious boy happy. 😻
It may seem silly but I am really in tune with their emotions, if I wrote an angst she is sad and I am too, so much I had to resolve it immediately and give her a deserved happy reward. 🤭
For this, I far prefer to write fluffy and smutty things full of love, because it is the best thing to write and to read thereafter too. 🥰

DSMP and Bug Symbolism
actually in light of my c!dream design - to note there is a lot of symbolism when associating dsmp members with bugs. going to use this post to just whwwh talk about some of them!
A little bit of an overview, in a way the Dream SMP can be interpreted as a greenhouse that houses all sorts of bugs... and DreamXD in His godly form is the server’s Gardener, The Entomologist, The Collector - This is a list of some of some of the bugs He has on display (all that I’ve thought of so far):
>DREAMXD: Centipede (earthform when He communicates with the characters) >DREAM: Polyphemus Moth >DRISTA: Io Moth >GEORGE: Blue Morpho Butterfly >SAPNAP: Fire Ants (collective) >AWESAMDUDE: Termites (collective) >PUNZ: Murder Hornet >PURPLED: Wasp >TUBBO: Honey Bees (collective) >TOMMY: Fly >ERYN: Firefly >WILBUR: Cockroach >PHILZA: Emerald Beetle >TECHNOBLADE: Rhino Beetle >ERET: Queen Alexandria’s Birdwing >SCHLATT: Goliath Tarantula >SLIMECICLE: Earthworm :] >FOOLISH: Milipede >HANNAH: Dragonfly
[Continuation of explanations under cut]
Some of them have reasonings behind, others like punz and purpled i see them go hand in hand so theyre similar bugs
>DREAM & DRISTA: (Polyphemus Moth, Io Moth) As DreamXD is the god of order, Drista exists to counter Him and shows up in the form of moth swarms atc. Hc that after losing his face, Drista gives him a moth companion. Polyphemus moths are known to intimidate predators by their haunting faces. And Io moths do ,,, just about the same tactic but when they do it they look like the :3 face
>GEORGE: (Blue Morpho Butterfly) Symbolically the opposite of what a moth is. Unlike Dream who was cursed by the world, George was blessed by it. My lore of George is that he is gifted a blue butterfly BY DreamXD because he found him pretty or smth and wanted to preserve that face of his. And UNLIKE Dream’s moth, George’s butterfly exists to cover his line of sight. Like rose tinted glasses, the butterfly makes him see the world completely differently, more dreamy ethereal like (lmao the dream realm) that DreamXD says to protect his eyes from seeing the imperfections of the real world. Trivia: According to consensus, blue morpho butterflies are considered the world’s most prettiest butterfly!
>SAPNAP: (Fire Ants) I say collective as he to me can act like a one man army he is ALL those ants and exists to serve and protect those worth protecting. In a way the downside being that at times perhaps Sapnap is only seen as such, a sword forced to act like a shield.
>TUBBO: (Honey bees) Obvious choice but wanted to mention him anyway as a collective similar to Sapnap. Honey bees work and serve something, they are born with a purpose and work until they die. And as the server’s youngest political figure with the strength of a hundred responsibilities pinned to his back I find that painfully fitting.
>TOMMY: (Fly) He’s associated better with flies than he is with butterflies I will DIE on this hill! Butterflies are adored by many, they are loved by the entomologist and are known for their beauty. Unlike George (who is a butterfly), Dream sees Tommy as the opposite, he finds him an ugly mark on the server “a pest that won’t go away” - Canon words by Dream somewhere. More symbolism, flies are fast and easy to kill. And once you kill them - there will always be another one to replace it (the many Tommy deaths, Dream killing and reviving him cycle)
>WILBUR: (Cockroach) Very similar connotations with Tommy, he is also seen as a pest. He like cockroaches they are difficult to kill - if you throw anything at it you’d be sure to know they’ll come right back up. They are resilient.
>ERET: (Queen Alexandria’s Birdwing) [TBH I personally think the queen alexandrias are wayyy prettier than blue butterflies but that’s just me cough] Queen Alexandria’s Birdwings while lesser known than the blue butterfly are considered the world’s largest butterflies. Knowing that and by how cool the name sounds - this association would be perfect for Eret! These butterflies also are known to show up in two different colours indicating the organism’s gender: males are turquoise, females are brown - both are beautiful to me :] I like to hc that Eret is associated with both butterfly patterns with the multiple pronouns she uses and their embrace with both masculine and feminine fashion alike. LIKE she is found wearing a brown gown during and up to his dethronement - WHILE they change to a blue dress after the betrayal ALSO ALSO the crown Eret has while in rule isn’t actually a crown but a golden, heavy war helmet in the shape of a butterfly head (like the actual in-game gold helmet he throws down the lmanburg ruins)
>SCHLATT: (Goliath Tarantula) Big guy. World’s biggest spider. While not poisonous it’s big. It fucking eats birds and small rodents. Big guy.
>SLIMECICLE: (Earthworm) Slimy guy. It goes snore snore mimi in the dirt forever. I like him :]
>HANNAH: (Dragonfly) Very buzzy like a bee, elegant still like a butterfly.  Unrelated-ish my irl dad used to do this thing where he would catch dragonflies by the wings and that reminded me of how Hannah loses her wings in canon :[
More to be added,,, one day x]

Everyone go listen to the National’s surprise new album it’s really good
track by track under the cut
Alphabet City. LOVED this single and love it now. Sets the tone for the album. This is the National at their most sci-fi, which is to say, still organic, grounded, and emotional. It evokes the dystopian elements of the Sleep Well Beast world…but now there’s a glimpse of love in the empty streets.
Deep End (Paul’s In Pieces). Catchy but not super memorable, which probably means in a week I’ll have this on repeat once I get used to it. The last third scratches my brain in a significant way.
Weird Goodbyes. I didn’t take much notice of this when it was a single last year but it really grew into its own as a piece of an album. Lyrically, it’s a country song. The Sad Dads have learned a lot from Taylor.
Turn Off the House. I am LOVING this running lyrical theme about technological alienation.
Dreaming. A fav tbh. It’s very New Wave, almost Kate Bush? This could be a song on Hounds of Love.
Laugh Track. Not a huge fan of their collabs with Phoebe Bridgers. It’s not a bad song, but not my favourite.
Space Invader. They played this at my show in August and I thought I’d have to wait another year to hear an album version!! Even as a recording, it still plays like a stadium-filler while remaining intimate and confessional. They walk that line so well.
Hornets. Sad and gentle. This is not a standout track, but it has an old-school comfort to it. Wouldn’t be out of place on Trouble Will Find Me. In my mind it’s a companion track to Wasp Nest, though musically they have little in common.
Coat on a Hook. I was hoping for some motifs from First Two Pages of Frankenstein to crop up again and provide continuity. I found them here.
Tour Manager. The music here is so beautiful it hurts a little bit. I never thought of Philip Glass as an influence for them but now I am thinking it.
Crumble. Another country song! I’m even hearing a hint of Tori Amos here. Not sure I would recognise this as The National if I heard it on the radio. I won’t be in the mood for it all the time. Nevertheless, it does slap.
Smoke Detector. I’ve been listening to the live versions of this on YouTube for weeks. Not only my favourite track on the album, but one of my favourite songs they’ve ever done. They’ve managed to condense and distil their entire body of work into one outstanding 7-minute track that stretches from the body to the stars and back. It sounds like Joy Division if Ian Curtis had lived to carry on in adult mundanity until one day the veil of illusion lifted for a moment and made him a witness to the divine face of total cosmic truth.
AND THEN IT LOOPS BACK TO ALPHABET CITY!! MASTERPIECE!!!
Summary: excellent album, will only grow on me with time. Vibes of being alone in a hotel room late at night thinking about the people you love who are sleeping far away.

alright so i think that xiao is an interesting character in and of itself - i say that because when i saw his character trailer, the one that was released around lantern rite and started righting poems about this man because even tho the circumstances were far from ideal, can i just say that the man STILL LOOKED PRETTY?? European Hornet - Vespa crabro
Finally! At long last, the blog’s first Hornet specimen! After seeing a handful flying out in the wild, one has finally been photographed! I’m not sure why she was grounded though.
First and foremost, Hornets are a type of Wasp and generally all of them are large-sized. While there’s not much to use as a scale here, If you were to compare a Yellowjacket to this Hornet, the Yellowjacket is completely dwarfed in terms of size and knows to fear this giant predator. Size alone is enough of a distinction between this Hornet and the other Wasps of North America, but otherwise, this specie looks very similar to Yellowjackets. To separate the two, the Hornet features brown and amber coloration from head to the first abdominal segment. Such coloration really accentuates those yellow and black stripes across the rest of the abdomen. Those stripes are your warning not to interfere in this Hornet’s business nor to approach its nest. Though it has the potential to be fierce and aggressive (especially near the nest), it’s been reported that the European Hornet tries to escape when possible and avoid confrontations. It’s a relief to know, but these powerful insects should still be treated with respect, left unprovoked and given space. After all, this is an insect with the ability and power to seize and shred Dragonflies as a prey item! I think that Hornets in general would be less fearsome-looking to humans if the eyes were whole circles, i.e., eliminate that “gap” near the inner part of their eye.
As the name suggests, this Hornet isn’t native to North America. It came from Eurasia which is where a majority of Hornets live. It apparently was first introduced here in the 1800′s. As such, it is (currently) the only specie of True Hornet to call North America home. Other insects like the Bald-Faced Hornet may be called Hornets, but only because of their size and not their classification. 200 years later, with a generation every year and the advent of time and settling down in a new environment, the European Hornet has integrated itself into the ecosystem well and doesn’t seem to cause any problems. If anything it provides a check to some apex insects and pest insects (including Yellowjackets). Like fellow social Wasps, the adults feed on liquid food, fruit juice and nectar (they are large enough to also drink tree sap), while also capturing solid food for the larvae to feed on, which in turn provide the adults with liquid protein. With autumn approaching, mating season begins, whereby unfertilized eggs hatch into stingless drones which will bump into future queens. The queens will overwinter until warm weather returns, whereby they will build a new nest and begin a new colony of striped soldiers. If only the nests weren’t so dangerous to approach; there’s much to learn about Hornet to Hornet communication and behavior.
Pictures were taken on September 7, 2022 with a Google Pixel 4. So happy to finally have a beautiful Hornet on this blog. Fingers crossed for more, and no stinging as a result.

This was my favorite wasp today, I've never seen a yellowjacket with white instead of yellow, besides bald-faced hornets. Aren't they so cute!
I thought it was blackjacket (Vespula consobrina), which is a very cool name, but it seems to actually be a parasitic aerial yellowjacket (Dolichovespula arctica). bugguide dot net specifies that the white stripes on the abdomen of D. arctica are nearly split down the middle by the black, while in V. consobrina they are not. Regardless, a beautiful insect!

Tumblr media
Venti
Absolutely the two of you play music together, sometimes composing your own to share with him. He'll always be your number one fan, building you up and always praising you for your work.
"Wow, dearest love of mine~," Venti starts, his emerald eyes twinkling in enjoyment from how you just danced your fingers across the piano before you, "That was quite beautiful. Can you play it again? I'd love to listen some more~," He says, pulling out his lute to strum along.
You ponder for a moment before nodding your head, "I suppose one more time wouldn't hurt," you say with a playful glint in your eye, getting your fingers ready to waltz around the ivory keys of the piano.
Venti, strums along to the tune of your song happily, making his own notes along the way, harmoniously blending the two songs together.
While the two of you may have opposite personalities, it doesn't bother you in the slightest. While you stand stoic, Venti is all the more playful with you, always seeming to make you smile.
"Y/N, dearest~" Venti coos playfully while brushing through your hair, putting braids in, "Did I ever tell you how cute I think you are~?"
Blushing furiously, you cover your face with your hands, "V-Venti!" you stutter from embarrassment, "I-I. . ." you trail off, not knowing what to say next, but before you could formulate your words, Venti wraps his arms around your shoulders and pulls you into a tight hug.
"See~? Just the cutest~"
Venti always knows the best spots to go animal watching. He frequently takes you to new places during your dates, bringing sweets along to share, mainly consisting of orange and lemon goodies.
Putting together a picnic, laying out blankets, and divvying up the treats, you plop down, sprawling out your body to glance at the cloudless blue sky, "It's a beautiful out today," you say happily.
Venti lays down next to you, inching closer so your hands barely graze each other as he stares at you lovingly before murmuring, "Not as beautiful as you. . ."

Banyan trees (A creative nonfictional look at the tree in front of my house)
A banyan tree, stood in front of my childhood home. After Andrew, Cabrera felled it with some kind of poison.
"Nada te cresca alli jamas Maria" (Nothing will ever grow there again Maria)
Gus pointed out that we would have less hornets. I hated hornets because they hurt the cute bees and their bumble buts. Being allergic, I was aware of them and respected their presence.
Alexander asked me one day while we were reading comics.
"Will you be a wasp, a whorenet, or a bee?" He had an issue of spiderman and I said:
"I'm going to be everything! I'm going to see the whole world and write about it like a photo journalist!"
His green eyes leveled on me and he said nothing.
The banyan tree before it was taken down, had a tire swing. Cabrera put it there after I got really sick.
"Asi puedes jugar, pero no hables con la gentes estranos" (That way you can play, but please do not talk with strangers)
Strangers were everywhere. One time I climbed up the banyan tree. A man called for me to come down, but I wouldn't because I didn't know him.
"No thanks, I don't know you!" I yelled.
A week later he knocked on our door and I hid behind the couch. He wouldn't stop till uncle Gus came home and chased him away.
The tree and I had this special relationship. I could talk to it by putting my hand on it. Didn't have to say anything...
Grandmother always told me that if you hurt a plant you're hurting a reincarnated soul. Someone who did terrible things in their past life that now has to make up for it by being a tree. Then she would at the next yard over and say,
"Cabrera really likes to garden. He is a wonderful compassionate man. Too bad his wife is a whorediot..."
"Abuela!" I'd chastise.
Earning a stern look as a warning.
"People down here will one day try to frame you as a slut too if you don't shut up!"
I shed a tear as that afternoon I said nothing and played forever on the tire swing. Missing a time when I didn't have to know about te world and its dangers... My mind drifting in and out of the conversations that our family matriarch nemesis would say.
"You are my little cub, and I want you strong in a real way. A balance of beauty, intelligence, and wonder. To many bitter sows will try to spoil you. I really don't like some of your friends, but I know you'll make the right descicion in the end... I made you that way."
"Can everyone come over and play?" I'd respond and receive silence.
One day when I was half listening, she told me the story about the Buddha and Bodhi tree. How it was very important to remain humble in everything I said and did from then on.
I loved the Buddha as a kid because I heard he was a great teacher, and as far as I knew everything that was spiritual was meant to be taken with a grain of salt. The next day the pastor from my middle school took my crystal quartz one day. The one my mom gave to me in a tiny box...
"Witchcraft!" he spat out.
"You're stupid!" I yelled back. Earning yet another detention. My grandmother was always furious and told me to keep only one crystal with me hidden in my shirt.
Going into high school the tree was gone. My best friend, taken away for who knew what... But I felt that way about so many things. The computer, as well felt like a friend. I could write for hours and it would always welcome me home. Alexander had my grandmother to let me learn programming when he saw how much stuff i learned from just a few rouge programmers from Dade.
"She really likes the machine more than people."
And thus I did. Wishing I could take my friend with me everywhere, so that I didn't have to socialize with anyone. After all what was the point of it? She had made it abundantly clear that no matter what we do, it's recorded.
Maybe that's what Halo was about? A group of people protecting a tower that records humanity's sins? But maybe the concept of sin itself is a tool in of itself to keep empowered platforms sterile and "distraction free''. In college I wrote a paper about how if our society began to stop labeling each other and themselves like tupperware, we'd be just fine.
When we're young we really want to change and save the world. I heard so many say this and they either fall between the cracks or go on to be successful people. To be fair the best people that I know have always just done themselves without the need to exploit or pull others into their problems.
My heart goes out to some of my old bestie's but I recalled a time when one of my elder Cubana sisters said:
Sometimes love is not enough. You'll learn that soon enough.
I did... Also learn this as those who were once my "friends," couldn't wait for me. I yelled at them to go away. Leave me alone because...
I couldn't leave my grandmother to die alone in that house.
I had sooooooo many chances. But Loyalty? Right? I know I could have had it easier if I just submitted but my sisters were ultimately right in the end.
"You are a cute little cinnamon roll. Please run from the crazy roided out gym men that chase skirts down here in florida..."
"Ok... I will but can I stay healthy without going to a gym?"
Needless to say I loved walking and biking. I used to keep a folding bike in the back of the care until my uncle Gus sat on it and turned it into a motorcycle...
Years later, I was given Bodhi seeds... Silently I was grateful as the person in front of me excitedly explained to me everything they were just now discovering. She reminded me of my own mother the day I received a silver ribbon for singing in the county fair.
"Aren't you excited?"
"Not really, that was just for participating mom..."
She frowned and told me to lighten up.
Funny enough that same person was my ex girlfriend the bank breaker of the London Square shopping center...
"Your problem is that you're too compassionate."
I was left with this message after our breakup. My grandmother was dying... and now I had a few months left to say goodbye.
Thankfully my hubby came back into my life and i found a job down the street with Instacart. I loved being able to do my favorite thing, Walk around and get things for other people. And then lo and behold the pandemic started. The world was ending and a few kids and I had to shop for our lives. Funny enough that at some point we were called heroes lol.
I laughed because the real heroes are the medical professionals and workers that keep society running while everyone lost their collective minds. But I was grateful for the compliment all the same. At the time I was trying to establish myself as a crafty witch as a passion project while going to school. To be fair the way I was brought up the tiny microaggressions you enact in spell work were supposed to help you feel better. Especially against bullies, you just sent them the spiritual chancla and just moved on... But what is a group of people who were never meant to learn this practice took it too far and started using it as a form to marginalize others even further than ever?
Hmm... well that's some fuckery. Anyways it's nice to talk about my favorite tree. if anyone has a favorite tree please by all means talk about it below.

idyll
if you ripped open my rib cage (which i hope you won’t actually do), and if you walked past my blackened lungs, and my gangrened heart, you’d find an idyll. probably a summer one. (i don’t know myself very well). and she’s in it, and he’s not. and there’re birds, and bugs with no stingers, but there are hornets there too, and wasps. but never-mind all that.
there’s beauty in me, but there’s more in you.
