There are Other Things on The Internet Than Reddit
Here's a Lego forum
Here's one for CDs
Here's one for Bionicle
Tech Support and Repair
The blog I used to set up a virtual machine
Anime Anime Manga
Like, anything technical
These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head and is nowhere near an exhaustive list of just the forums that I have personally used to find valuable information. This isn't even including wikis, independent archives, blogs, magazines, etc etc etc.
Reddit actually isn't the only place on the internet to get information it was just the easiest :)))) The entire rest of the internet didn't die because you stopped using it. :)))
I've never found it anywhere near as helpful as any of these other sources, largely because of the low barrier for entry, lack of specialization, and dogshit culture. People who spend all their time on sites you've never heard of actually know more about the shit their website is dedicated to.

I feel like recently, ADHD has kind of become shorthand for “a person who is annoying online and has no real problems,” and I don’t really think that’s awesome news, given the context that ADHD has a long history of being disregarded as a made up disorder that’s just an excuse for poor/obnoxious behavior, no matter how much scientific research proves otherwise. ADHD is not by any means the only disorder that has people making a thousand misleading tiktoks about it, so perhaps do some critical thinking about why specifically ADHD has become the poster child for that behavior. There are certainly valid criticisms to be made of the way we discuss mental health online, but maybe use your brain and determine why this disorder in particular is the one that’s easiest to point at for being “annoying” and “not that big of a deal.”

god one of the things I hate the most about today's Internet is the whole. Rage farming thing? Cult of Your Very Important Critical Opinion? Negativity bringing in clicks?
Whatever the fuck is responsible for the fact that I just can't watch a positive video about something I like without being IMMEDIATELY recommended five more of some heads talking about how the thing in question is bad actually
Like uuuugh okay obviously in some way it's just a consequence of being stuck in a proverbial room with all other kinds of people, but like you know what I mean. It's not some guy hating something so much he makes a dedicated page on his website or puts it in his LJ icon or a userbar, it's not a Facebook group of "[BAND NAME] SUCKS" that sometimes floods fans' comments to be annoying, no, it's a fucking content now
People churn out these critical think pieces on any given piece of media endlessly, because it brings them clicks, it brings reactions, it makes them motivated to put that opinion out there even if normally they wouldn't be arsed to care about the subject enough to have an opinion in the first place
Why are all of you fuckers (it's an abstract 'you') so determined to be fucking miserable!!!

hey quick question... why am i (someone who never engages w true crime) being recommended content on youtube about christina grimmie’s murder? and also wtf? i guess 7 years is a long time for the internet but if you knew about christina grimmie before that happened, no it’s not. that news was fucking chilling and it’s never going to be normal and it feels so weird to make it like some retrospective true crime folklore. that feels really unnecessary to her legacy to just present her as a “murdered youtuber.” stop!!!!!!!

For reference THIS is what happened
There’s three tabs and no longer any way to look at individual tags I follow without searching them (no) or using the ‘my tags’ tab on my dash (double no)
@staff istg change it back and stop trying to turn this platform into fucking twitter. This website doesn’t need 30 algorithmically generated content tabs if it’s not the primary reason people use it.

it’s so frustrating to see that the options being proposed with ai is either “hand companies the ability to control the art” or “hand companies the ability to replace the artist”
either a company gets to have a copyright law preventing people from using an art/writing style preventing real artists from using said style elsewhere
or a company gets to replace actual human artists by stealing their work with an algorithm that just regurgitates what it was trained on (and this would probably happen either way since the company would just copyright the style and replace real people with the algorithm that shits said style out)
and no one wants to find another fucking option? Can we just agree that AI is a bland soulless recreation of stories we’ve already seen and looks like garbage and stop trying to propose stuff that would fuck over real people either way?

the person behind the video of all the midi-sounding splatoon songs in this post just posted another one, compiling all the songs from daigasso band brothers p debut, a lite version of daigasso band brothers p (which is where those songs are from)! there's a lot of splatoon songs in here but there's also others (notably, animal crossing wild world/amiibo festival/happy home designer music and fire emblem music!). theres also versions of squid sisters songs without the vocals (ink me up, city of color & calamari inkantation don't have vocals here). I reccomend watching!
