Hey Guys, Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to my cinema in my city to see the new Studio Ghibli movie ''The Boy and the Heron'', I will tell you about the movie and the experience I had when watching this movie.
First, This is the new movie directed by Hayao Miyazaki (some of you have not seen his movies) 10 years after directing ''The Wind Rises'', many thought it was his last film, however, that was not the case, since Miyazaki is thinking of making another new movie and we finally get to see, it is based on a novel called ''How to you Live?'' and it is also considered a semi-autobiographical account of the novel, It is known that it is also considered the most expensive not only of Studio Ghibli (or of Anime, in general) but also the most expensive of Japanese cinema, curious, right?
the plot is about a young boy named Mahito who after losing his mother ventures into a world where the living and the dead live, a fantastic place where life finds a new beginning.

The truth is that Miyazaki is presenting us with his new masterpiece, with a plot that goes from the profound to the most moving, yes, there are some elements that some will not be able to understand. However, there are some things that make us reflect on how fragile human relationships are, pain, loss and other deep themes. As for the movie itself, I was surprised by the scenes, although it left me with something… between ''grotesque'' collias (not so strong), something similar to ''Spirited Away'' that had strange but at the same time profound moments. There were comical moments in the movie like the heron character who I don't know exactly what his name is, but anyway. In conclusion ''The Boy and The Heron'' is a recent masterpiece, Miyazaki returned to bring us another new gem that simply never ceases to surprise us. It is now my favorite movie, and also my 5th favorite Studio Ghibli movie (my other favorites are ''Ponyo'' ''The Secret World of Arriety'', ''Spirited Away'' and ''My Neighbor Totoro'', (which by the way I have a DVD of the American version), I highly recommend it, watch it, even if you have no interest or time to go to the cinema.
And well, that was all for today, this was my experience about the movie.

GET CLOVERED MOTHER SHUCKER
Tumblr media
NEHEHEH
Okay, break from the fish talk show. Time to talk about my week! That's a very pretty clover btw.
Okay so first off, I did join the Narrator Swap discord for the month of June and I posted my first art for it two days ago. That has been super fun and I can't wait to get my partner for next week!!!
Now the big thing was yesterday. Because yesterday was my oldest brother's birthday and he wanted to bring us to a convention, so some of us joined him for that, myself included. I don't know if this is surprising or anything, but this was the first big convention I've ever been to and my goodness, it sure was something. I didn't know a whole ton about the convention going in so I didn't go to any of the panels. (Though my sister in law told me they had a Sandman panel, but I lowkey forgot and only remembered 30 minutes after the panel started. Pretty upset about that). Anyways! I did end up getting some cool things, though most of what was being sold seemed to be more anime focused there were some other cool things I found.
I ended up getting two charms, an Ineffable Husbands one for myself and a Dreamling one for my sister. I also go a really cute Blackbonnet print signed by the artist (it's so cute!!), a little sewn keychain of my favorite little dragon Figment, a really cute Ponyo sweater, and an adorable strawberry frog keyboard for my computer (cuz I really needed a new one).
So overall, a super fun experience!! I definitely have determined that next time I go to a big con I definitely need to look into everything happening the day I'm going and figure out what events I want to participate in. Also, I should probably try to finish up some of my more casual cosplays, such as the Narrator or the RK900 hoodie I've been very slowly working on. This is because I went to this con in my Ghostbusters cosplay. Since I had a proton pack I couldn't have my backpack with me, which got kinda annoying when I had some downtime and didn't have my sketchbook to draw in. So more casual cosplays would work best for me.
Another thing I've discovered. I walk really poorly. My legs and ankles are so sore right now because of how I walk and how much I was walking yesterday. I realized a few hours in as my feet were starting to hurt, that I walk in such a way that I have a little bit of a limp and it puts a lot of strain on my left leg. Along with that, when walking my ankles are very fluid in their movements in such a way that I tend to put more pressure on the outer edge of my feet. In short. I'm super unbalanced and it wrecks my ankles when I walk like this for a while. So. Oof. This explains why every once in a while one of my ankles kind gives out and I either fall or almost fall. It's very rare, but it happens sometimes. Don't really know what to do about that other than trying to be more conscious of how I'm walking.
So that's about if for con related stuff I guess, though this next thing is a tiny bit related I guess. I have noticed recently, both on Tumblr and at the con, that Trigun Stampede is really popular right now. I don't know much about the anime though my sister did show me an episode or two of the original Trugun series. I did notice a lot of really cool art of Vash while at the con, along with some amazing cosplaysm there was this one person selling the cutest little tiny acrylic standees of him and I kinda wanted one, but I felt like it would be kinda weird to get art of a character from a fandom I'm not in. Anyways, this whole thing has a point. That being, I talked to my sister about it and she said I definitely should watch both Trigun series, sooo.... might end up doing that in my free time. I will probably start with the original Trigun then watch Stampede, cuz that just makes sense to me. I don't know how into it I will get, but I guess we will have to see.
I will have you know you most likely won't have to worry about me dropping TSP since I have a lot of people, both friends and you guys, keeping me into it. So don't worry!! I will not stop drawing TSP art for a long while!!! I just thought that would be important to say.
But yeah, that's kinda been the hughlights of my week. Fun things :)

❤️ The Animated Misadventures Of Chucky And Andy (CONCEPT) ❤️
🎉 Friends till the end! 🎉
I have been way too obsessed with this AU y’all. While I was drunk on water, I was thinking about that, “If there was a movie or TV show where Chucky and Andy were friends, I would definitely watch it” comment I made in my Child’s Play AU post, and being me, I felt like making that a reality… sorta.
I’ve been making tons of sketches of a hypothetical TV show based on my whole AU, and yesterday, I decided to draw this goofy ahh little mock-up of what it would look like if it actually became a cartoon. And oh boy, do I have so many ideas for this that I so desperately wanna share :]
So since Chucky ain’t a murderer in this, it’s a (slightly) more wholesome take on the series, but that doesn’t mean that I’m gonna water it down, make it more saccharine or kiddify it. There would be some crude humor, dark jokes/black comedy, and lots of strong language, mostly coming from ol’ Charles himself, since he is also iconic for his very “colorful” language. Basically, it would be an adult cartoon in the same vein as other shows like South Park or Rick and Morty, but a bit more toned down.
So while there’s no extreme violence, I’d still think the series would probably be rated TV-14, along with a DL warning for suggestive dialogue and coarse and/or crude language. As for which channel the series would possibly air on, I’m thinking that it would most likely be on SYFY, or maybe Adult Swim.
Now for the plot! The whole plot is basically the whole, “lonely and eccentric young kid finds a magical/supernatural creature or thing and becomes friends with it” type plot. Think Lilo and Stitch, or Ponyo, but instead of an alien or a goldfish, it’s a talking doll. And as I’ve mentioned in my Child’s Play AU post, the events that would happen in the show would be similar to that of a slice-of-life anime like Azumanga Daioh, or literally any sitcom you can think of.
Chucky tries doing something unhinged and outlandish, often dragging and coercing Andy into his shenanigans, but the both of them would get caught in 4k by Karen.
Here’s a little summary of what the premise would be;
“Young Andy Barclay’s life changes forever once he gets a Good Guy doll as a present from his mother. Little did the both of them know that this doll is a little more special than the others. Join him and his foul-mouthed sentient Good Guy doll, Chucky in wacky hijinks in this fun and irreverent slice-of-life comedy!”
In the show, the only people who would know about Chucky’s coming-to-life gimmick would be Andy and Karen (of course), and a few of Andy’s classmates, since there would be some episodes where he would sneak him into school to show his classmates, and um… you can imagine how it would go down lol
Actually, at the time of writing this, I thought up this super cursed scenario where Andy brings Chucky for show and tell, and some other girl brings a Barbie doll, and Chucky starts flirting with it. Jesus H. Christ, I can’t unsee it 💀
Since this does take place in the late 80s (specifically 1988), there would, of course, there would be things like MTV, big poofy hair, neon clothing, aerobic videos, etc. I absolutely adore anything 80s-related, so you know I’m definitely gonna go hard with the retro aesthetic for this show. There would be episodes where Andy and Chucky are hanging out at the local arcade, and just them playing NES games at home.
And last but certainly not least, there’s the voice actors. Obviously, I’m gonna keep Brad Doriff as Chucky, because mans is absolutely iconic. Though I’m not really sure who the hell would voice Andy or Karen. I do kind of imagine Karen being voiced by Dorothy Elias-Fahn or Tara Platt, but what would be your suggestions?
❤️ 🎉 ❤️

I did something good yesterday. I finally got my younger bro to watch a Studio Ghibli film (it was Ponyo, one of my faves) and he LOVED it. He used to refuse watching anime stuff but now he's actually getting into it and it helps immensely that Studio Ghibli films have dutch dubs. I'm so proud of him :") now he can watch even more good stuff

I have never seen a Studio Ghibli movie poll 2/2
yeah, yeah I know. I'm looking to change this. I'll run two polls with every single movie on them, then decide between the two winners. so,
Other poll
Also if you want to, please comment descriptions/propaganda for your favorites to help me decide which ones to watch later.

Introducing my son to his first Studio Ghibli movie gotta be part of my family tradition! He sat and really enjoyed Ponyo yesterday for a long time in comparison to how long he usually sits and watches movies.
He enjoyed the opening with all the amazing creatures.
Tumblr media
He also pronounced Ponyo properly and how they say it in the movie (Pon-yoh, and was firm about this admirably), without the heavy "O" I usually say it with. I explained as many of the creatures as I could.
He was most keen on seeing a squid randomly, I didn't even know he knew what a squid was but its not surprising with how much I like sea creatures, especially things like octopus.
But yes, a bunch of squid turned up, so he was pleased about that. 🐙 🦑
Tumblr media
I was funny showing him all her funny little siblings, too. "What are THEY?" Honestly, dude, nobody knows, just they're Ponyos miniature swarm of sibling babies.
Tumblr media
I watched my first Studio Ghibli movie (Howl's Moving Castle) around 11, and it was the first "anime" style piece of media I fell in love with (and Howl lmao) and which has caused me to adore manga and anime so much to this day, still.
Tumblr media
I hope when he's older, he might end up liking it. It's okay if he doesn't, though. It's very important to me that he builds up his own interests rather than mine. I try to let him pick everything that resonates with him whilst also introducing him to stuff I like, stuff I'm not into he might like, and giving him an option. Obviously, though, like anyone, it feels lovely, too, when you share things of common interest with your kids.
Tumblr media
I'm trying to save up to see the theatre production of Spirited Away next year in London. Oh god, how I hope I can get there. He might even be able to come, but we must try out cinema trips first and see how those go.
