Sometimes someone will get more "soul" than the other but it rarely affects them. In extremely rare cases though a person could have 90%+ of their pair's "soul." This leads to the recipient being more apathetic, violent, and having an obsession with their soulmate.

Yello! I rewatched 3rd life and I realized something

Scar and Grian, during the red winter war, started calling the monopoly mountain the Red Desert even after the war ended

Which would mean that the desert wasn't monopoly mountain anymore, and that was decided after they didn't had a monopoly on anything at that point, and I see no one calling it the red desert, which sounds more like a fantasy place with red sand (the blood stained sand, stained with grian regrets on the cactus ring)

And there's the joke about calling it the Scarhara desert (which is funny as hell)

“Hey, I can totally dance,” Scar said defensively. Grian laughed. “Prove it then,” he said. “Alright then,” Scar said, arms crossed.

Scar extended an arm to Grian. “May I have this dance?” Grian smirked and took Scar’s hand.

The rest of the group looked at each other. Xisuma began to stroke the guitar strings, playing a song he had heard in his travels. Pearl smiled and pulled out her flute, playing along.

Scar bowed to Grian, much to his surprise. Grian bowed back and the two smiled. Scar pulled Grian in and they began to dance slowly.

The music started slow and a bit somber, quickly growing in speed. The duo followed along and quickened their pace with the song. They had found a rhythm and went with it. Soon, they began dancing with more flair, adding twirls and dips.

The rest of the party watched in awe as they danced. The room was then filled with joy and lightness in spirit. Even through the darkest times, they had each other.

They spent their day dancing and delighting in each other's company. Soon the golden daylight that spilled through the windows faded into a pale glow. As everyone settled down for the night, Grian smiled to himself.

Even during the end of the world, joy could still be found.

Grian followed Scar, each step creaking with the rickety floorboards. Scar looked around the room. Empty bottles and cans still lay scattered around the room, each holding the memories of that night.

A night filled with joy and lightheartedness. A night that would forever remain engraved in their hearts.

Scar looked at the ground. He looked up and Grian and extended his hand. “May I have this dance?” he asked solemnly.

Tears flooded Grian’s eyes. He blinked them back and took Scar’s hand.

Tonight, there was no guitar, no flute, no joyful humming or clapping.

Tonight, the only music they danced to was the blaring sirens.

Grian and Scar stayed silent as they danced. They both flowed with the rhythm of the warning sirens, turning around each other with complex twirls and spins.

Memories of all they had endured came back to Grian. The sounds of music, the long journeys, all of the people he had loved and lost.

As they spun around the room, they barely noticed the sirens getting louder. A light began to grow outside, pouring through the broken windows. A whistling sound streamed through the air.

They both closed their eyes as Scar dipped Grian down to the floor. They both took a deep breath and held themselves there, taking in their final moments before the world exploded.
