Wayhaught headcanon that came to me for no particular reason--

In 4x02 after the stairs Waverly says "Why do I feel like bawling?"

Because even though her mind was only gone for 3 days, her body knows. It knows it's been without Nicole for 18 months and just the overwhelming feel of her, her scent, her whole presence is a monumental shock to her system.

So like later on, in the middle of the night, Waverly wakes up and does just that-- bawls her damn eyes out, gasp-sobs in Nicole's arms simply because her body needs to. It's too much relief after too much time-warpy time without her.

It takes her by surprise and she just lets it run its course, Nicole cries with her, they cling like their life depends on it and don't let go all night.

headcanons about waverly accommodating to nicoles ptsd

waverly doesnt quite understand how nicole’s ptsd works at first

for awhile she flounders around to figure out the best strategy to redirect nicole when she’s triggered

she tries a few different things, like physical and verbal distractions, but nothing seems to work at first

eventually waverly finds out that the best way to help nicole is to accommodate to her needs when she’s triggered

every time that nicole gets anxious about the traps, waverly takes her hand, says some soft reassuring words, and goes with her to check the traps

sometimes nicole needs to check the traps twice or three times before she’s satisfied, but waverly remains by her side no matter how long it takes

waverly also gets really defensive over nicole and her ptsd

wynonna will make a joke that triggers nicole, and as waverly is putting on her coat to go check the traps with her, she gives wynonna the biggest scolding ever

however, nicole has other reactions to her triggers too

when it comes to “fight or flight”, nicole is 99% a fighter, but she has her moments where she shuts down and needs to escape

when nicole is upset, she shuts down and refuses to talk

waverly helps her to a quiet place and will sit with her silently, rubbing her back, cuddling up to her to let her know she’s there

these episodes sometimes go on for hours

but waverly stays by her side, always, keeping her warm and safe

My Wayhaught Kinks Headcanons:

Nicole has a massive hair pulling kink and Waverly knows this and often uses it to her advantage

Waverly has a praise kink. She likes to be told she is doing a good job and that she’s so sexy.

They both like to get tied up. When Waverly ties up Nicole it’s mostly to watch her pull against the restraints while she rides the strap. Nicole doesn’t like to be penetrated while tied up but watching Waverly ride the strap is *chef’s kiss*. When Nicole ties up Waverly she will occasionally blind fold her but most of the time she just teases the fuck out of her until she feels bad and unties her and fucks her.

They both occasionally like to scratch and bite but they have hard rules about where

They have dabbled in control/denial but still not sure how they feel about it

Waverly likes to talk dirty because it somehow surprises Nicole every time

They have definitely explored butt stuff (and I’m not taking Haught off the table here... for some reason I feel like she would be willing to try it with Waves and would find out she actually likes it)

Nicole really likes to tell Waverly to “be patient, wait”

Kisses to Waverly’s knees or the inside of Nicole’s thighs make them instantly squirm

Waverly likes to tease in public to the point where Nicole either needs space or finds somewhere for a quickie

Waverly’s reaction to that “fake proposal” was so adorables and she totally would have said yes, my heart omg. If they ever get married, Waverly is definitely the type who never stop refering to Nicole as her wife.

Waverly: “I’m looking for my wife, is she here?”

Cop: “Uh, Sheriff Haught? She’s in her office.”

waverly’s obsessed with those little decorative scents you can plug into the wall and she ends up leaving one in every room in the homestead and nicole’s house. when nicole notices, it finally solves the mystery as to why waverly smells strongly of brown sugar and cider all the time.

Ok but imagine: the night they all get back, Nicole sleeps like a rock for the first time in a year and a half because she’s got Waverly in her arms, she’s got her skin against her lips, and has her nose buried in her hair, she can feel the weight of her and she knows they’ll have a lot to talk about, but for now everything is right again. 

And then maybe Waverly slips out of bed in the middle of the night for some water or whatever. While she’s gone, Nicole wakes up, finds an empty bed and before she can even reason with herself, every inch of her panics, stomach sinks, because oh my GOD she must have imagined Waverly coming home again, only this time it had felt so, so real, but she must have been wrong again. 

She gets out of bed, and looks around, legs shaking, opening and closing doors with no luck, and she’s already breathing unsteady, raw sounds of grief coming before the tears, she stumbles down the stairs she could have sworn they’d made love on just hours ago, and holds onto the walls because she’s so unsteady with fear, looking for her and dreading not finding her--

Waverly hears her and rushes into the living room, hurrying to get her in her arms because she looks like she’s about to collapse and as soon as Nicole sees her, she practically shudders and buries herself into her. 

Waverly lowers them to the couch and pulls Nicole as close as she can, wrapping her around her and kissing her temple in between words--

It’s okay, it’s okay, I’m here, I’m right here, I promise I didn’t go anywhere. I’ve got you. You’re not alone, baby.

Nicole tries to calm down but just can’t, she’s so relieved she can hardly breathe, and she must be crying because Waverly’s shushing her and thumbing away her tears, and everything feels like hell, but she’s got her heaven back and Waverly doesn’t let go until she can breathe again.

It feels like she’s been hit by a truck, and she’s a little embarrassed that she just fell apart because Waverly left her side for 3 minutes, but she knows better than to apologize, and she’s too tired for it anyways.

Waverly rearranges them so she’s curled into her chest on the couch, and at some point Wynonna comes downstairs because she heard the commotion, and instead of being a wiseass, she just looks understanding, comes back with a cup of tea for Nicole, and sits at the other end of the couch, puts Nicole’s feet in her lap and says nothing. 

Nicole’s fallen asleep crying and desperately lonely on that couch so many nights while they were gone, but now her family’s back and holding her and it finally feels like home again.

Domestic wayhaught (like homestead chores)

-Waverly and Nicole split the chores up pretty evenly.

-Waves is organized but Nicole is neat and tidy. 

-Waves hates doing the dishes so Nicole always does them for her to save her the trouble. (even though nobody really likes doing the dishes)

-Waves does all the laundry for them, folding them perfectly and color coordinating the closet. (I feel like she has so many clothes, different colors and fabrics, she needs to take care of them just so)

-She doesn’t use a dryer, instead she hangs them on a clothes line to dry.  Firstly because it’s better for the environment and because it makes the clothes “smell of sunshine” (This might be more Dom than Waverly but I see similarities shine through)

-Waverly irons Nicole’s uniform for her.  a few shirts had to die in order for her to get the hang of it. 

-They take turns cooking but more often than not they end up working together

-Waverly prefers baking

-Nicole prefers cooking 

-Waverly makes sure there’s a fresh cup of coffee for Nicole every morning  Nicole makes the bed for her and Waverly (She always seems to forget)

-Waves handles most of the interior decorating (with Wynonna and Nicole's opinions here and there. They always like opposite things. She sides with Nicole…usually)

-If anything breaks, Nicole tries to fix it before she even entertains calling in somebody else (plumber, carpenter etc.)

-Waves listens to music dances around while she vacuums 

-They have a collection of bonus blankets (at the homestead and at Nicole’s now too)

-Calamity Jane has taken a liking to Waverly. It’s kinda like she’s hers now too

-They can’t sleep apart now. 

-Waverly finds herself doodling in her notebook “Waverly Earp-Haught” “Waverly Haught-Earp” “Waverly Haught”  

-Nicole can’t help but think about what Waverly would look like with a baby on her hip. 

-They’ve done it on pretty much every surface in the Homestead at this point.

  -This directly defies canon but oh well Nicole always drives. (okay she didn’t in 04x04 but maybe Waves wanted to drive after a year and a half of being away? I still think Nicole does 99% of the driving) One hand on the wheel, one hand holding Waverly’s
