Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII and Superman from DC Comics have multiple instances of a shared English VA.
George Newbern voices Sephiroth in Advent Children and Crisis Core and Superman in Justice League (2001), while Tyler Hoechlin voices Sephiroth in the Remake trilogy and plays Superman in Supergirl and Superman & Lois.

Unicorn and Superman are kids shows...
...but that’s not a bad thing. Not necessarily. I am concerned that they didn’t air on Cartoon Network’s children networking where, you know, they’d be TV-PG at the very most.
I mean, with My Adventures with Superman, you have laser guns instead of bullet guns, quirky humor even amongst more serious scenes, no swearing whatsoever, no blood or anything above a solid TV-Y7 rating. Yet it’s on Adult Swim.
This isn’t to imply that the opposite is bad. I mean, I friggin’ looooooooved Primal, blood, guts and all. But I feel like if Adult Swim was the target network, there would’ve been more of that in Unicorn and Superman.
There’s a sort of... obligation for adult media to be cynical or deal with heavy topics either in a meaningful way or a tasteless “The world’s a bitch and so am I” depiction. Yet this is a fun superhero cartoon and fantasy show that seems to strike a balance to qualify for Adult Swim.

I've begun watching #myadventureswithsuperman and I do like the show, I find that the pacing is too rushed and that the character designs often look too way generic for my personal tastes, especially when they're based on iconic #dccomics characters.
This is NOT meant to shame the production staff who work on the show, this is much more of a fun little artistic exercise. With that said, here are the ways I tweaked the design;
*I kept the general shape of the gauntlets she wore in the two-parter series beginning and also kept the hair colour, skin tone and eye colour out of respect. * Her top is based on the Livewire of the original DC Animated universe, with the lightning bolt acting as a reference to the original's leotard and it's incredibly deep neckline. * The lightning bolt emblem is a reference to the Zero-Hour Reboot Legion of Superheroes where Lightning Lad, going by the codename of Livewire, sported a similar design for the lightning bolts on his costume. * The wires around the gauntlets are meant to invoke the wires used in cranial electrostimulation, or CES, to treat cases of depression, anxiety and or insomnia. I wanted to suggest that she could have a sympathetic backstory or that her equipment radically alters her personality and she's become addicted to its power.

Today's new episode of Teen Titans GO!, which took 3 weeks to actually air (finally), means a LOT to me, but Cartoon Network characters being part of the TTG WB 100th Anniversary Special made this special all the more...
Tumblr media
A worthy successor to the OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes episode "Crossover Nexus" in terms of @cartoonnetwork lore.
Oh, and as if Tom and Jerry and the work of Genndy Tartakovsky showing up wasn't already special enough; that and the work of @maxwellatoms showing up is to die for!
Say @chrisbattleart ; aren't you a bit jealous of not getting to work on the later TTG episodes?
I consider this part of Cartoon Network's 30th Birthday year since it was supposed to air in September 2023, but apparently some slight revisions had to be made (assuming that it isn't Warner Bros. Discovery's fault or David Zaslav's fault).
Tweet version here.
Episode: "WARNER BROS. 100TH ANNIVERSARY"
STORYBOARD: BRANKO KLJAJIC, GEOFF MARIAN, @talyaperper , JAYLEN TATE, JOSH WEISBROD
LEAD CHARACTER DESIGN: MARINA GARDNER, JUNPEI TAKAYAMA
CHARACTER DESIGN: @rileyphillips
PROP DESIGN: ANAND DUNCAN
CHARACTER CLEAN UP: SARA ANDERSON, PABLO BERMUDEZ
ANIMATION SERVICES: BARDEL ENTERTAINMENT INC.

Bluesky Batman beyond
Ok so. The Batman Beyond animated movie + concept art announcement feels to me at least like a last ditch marketing attempt a la "all or nothing". So. While I'm glad there's hype. I am not holding my breath here.
WB has already deleted Batwoman, a Scooby Doo and Krypto crossover, and is just about to decide what to do with Coyote VS Acme. I do not have faith that Terry gets another movie and it survives the tax axe for legal release. I just don't have hope.
(Tho it would be extremely cyberpunk for it to be made, canned for tax money, then someone hacks in and distributes it for free. Like the krypto crossover. Terry would absolutely approve.)

Today I learned that the creators of Freakazoid based the character of Cave Guy after William F. Buckley.
They created a character specifically to call a prominent conservative pundit a Neanderthal

So Season 3 may be the final season...
...but that doesn't mean it's the end of Animaniacs!
Unfortunately it doesn't seem like the fourth season of the reboot will be happening (at least not on Hulu), but remember, Animaniacs isn't just a show, it's a franchise! If season 3 performs well and there is demand for more/a lot of people show interest, more Animaniacs content could be greenlit. Even if the reboot doesn't continue, there are other types of Animaniacs content that could be made, such as:
A new movie/special
I'd personally really like another Animaniacs movie, specifically a theatrical one, considering Wakko's Wish never went to theatres. However a special that went straight to streaming would be cool too. If it was a theatrical one, perhaps it could be a live action animated hybrid movie (Warners being animated in 2D against live action footage)? I mean, in universe Animaniacs is literally about toons living in the real world. Obviously a fully animated one would be great too (especially if it was in 2D).
Tumblr media
A Pinky and the Brain Movie
I feel like a Pinky and the Brain movie is long overdue. Theatrical, TV movie, straight to streaming/video, doesn't matter-as long as it's a movie. Not sure what it would be about, but no doubt if it were to be made it would be a fun time!
Tumblr media
A spin off series
Sure, they could just reboot the Pinky and the Brain spin off series, but there are other options too. Perhaps a spin off a focusing on one of the other co-stars (I still think Slappy was just as deserving of a spin off as Pinky and the Brain were). Heck, maybe an anime spin off starring the Anime Warners? Powerpuff Girls Z is a thing after all.
Tumblr media
Whatever we might end up getting, it'll probably have to be for a different streaming service other than Hulu. And apparently HBO Max is not an option (at least for a possible reboot continuation) for...reasons.
Tumblr media
If the reboot ending upsets you, don't be afraid to show it! Apparently that could (emphasis on COULD) increase our chances of getting more content:

I'm not saying we're guaranteed to be getting more Animaniacs content anytime soon, but you are literally hurting no one by supporting the show, so it's worth a try, right?

okay… this is a bit silly but.. will the Warner Bros. Archive ever release a Complete Series DVD set of Mucha Lucha?? including All the 3 seasons + DTV Movie + Para Siempre Animatic and maybe adding a few bonus features like interviews with the voice actors and a few animatics for a couple of episodes, and maybe including the behind the scenes video from the “heart of lucha” dvd, and audio commentaries for episodes would work too. And maybe and Art book featuring all the concept art, storyboards and character designs for the show✨✨ i don’t know why but… it’s possible for these to happen one day :o
Ay, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but realistically...no.
I hassled them 2 years back to release the complete series, and after many emails, calls and a zoom session, I was told that the complete series will never be released because WBA does not have the rights to the music for certain episodes, and they refuse to release an incomplete anthology. (Which actually makes NO SENSE as it didn't seem to bother them when they released a handful of episodes from season 1.)
Plus, the current regime at WBA are just not interested. All of the executives who were present for the series have moved on, and WBA's current preference is just to grind out new versions of their DC properties, Scooby, Tom & Jerry...well you get it.
Personally, I have spent so much time and energy over the last few years trying to get them to revisit the series in ANY sort of capacity, but it's just pointless.
The only way forward is for the online fans of the series to keep creating, and maintain a profile for the show. As I mentioned, they can't copyright or own my art style, so I am seriously thinking of some new product that won't infringe on any ownership issues.
Sorry it's not better news...
