About your tags: is there more that you can share about the OW fandom and fics? This was a phenomenon I wonder about too. It was one of the most popular fandoms around 2017-2018, but the way the fandom stopped on its tracks around 2019 was hard not to notice. Especially from people who didn't play the game but were aware of it's fandom.

oh! overwatch is one of about 50-ish fandoms i track for this one spreadsheet project i do as a hobby (which i Technically blog about @fandom-data-scientist, but i've been too lazy to do a proper writeup to explain what the hell it is i do), wherein i try to answer the age-old question: when did the weebs move to ao3?

(the answer is late 2015/early 2016. most likely this was in large part a result of undertale and sports anime, but that's currently just my own conjecture)

According To My Research(tm), the overwatch fandom peaked in late 2016/early 2017 when it comes to the number of new fics posted per month. after this, it declined quite rapidly, as it didn't even get to enjoy a plateau period.

(there's a reason why the plots are really wonky towards the end of this graph-- it's bc i found the past dates for number of fics archived to a particular site via the wayback machine. since those snapshots are typically bot crawls, the number of fics shown on the fandoms listings will not include fics that have been archive-locked. although i technically started this project in august 2022, i did not add overwatch to my tracking list until this june/july or so. my current guess for the small uptick in the rate of ow fics published to ao3 in october 2022 is that the sequel came out? and then the rate plunged for january 2023 bc of the ai scraping scare that happened at around that time-- nearly every single fandom i track had a significant drop right then bc everyone was archive-locking their fics. the rate shooting up in like july 2023 on this chart is bc like i said, that's when i added ow to my list of tracked fandoms; because i'm logged into my own ao3 acct when checking these numbers live, i get access to the archive-locked fics and so the display number goes up.)

in my experience, fandoms will generally kind of plateau in their fic production after their peak, which will ofc normally gradually taper off. games that receive regular lore or story updates probably have fairly long or stable plateaus, although i haven't made scatterplots or made any comparing analyses to prove this rigorously. this plateau period generally represents a time of fandom stability as the fair-weather, casual, or migratory slash fans run off to the next big thing.

if we ignore the fact the plague and quarantine happened, we can see a nice, steady, and very consistent plateau period for the danganronpa fandom from about 2018-2020!

let's look at an older fandom, like my archnemesis final fantasy:

granted, the ao3 numbers are kind of all over the place these days, but you kind of get my point by now, right? that healthy fandoms tend to plateau as the wind carries away the faintly-interested and leaves the long-haulers behind to form their communities.

overwatch struck me as unusual when i was on one of my long wayback machine trips because of the way there was a net increase of only two fics published from 1 july 2021 to 1 october 2021, when before then it had usually been in the hundreds or so. i then went on a work tangent n googled around n more or less concluded it had Something to do with some kind of scandal with the development company, but otherwise i don't really have any more comments on it hahaha.

more random simon headcanons <3

☼ his favorite colors are black, blue, and grey. his personal style is very plain, black hoodies, white tee's, and black sweatpants are his go to. simon doesn't want to stand out any more than he already does with his large frame, so he opts for comfort over style.

☼ simon is very helpful around the house, constantly tidying up and fixing anything with a problem. he has no issue doing the dishes or folding the laundry, but for some reason he hates sweeping and mopping? you don't get it, it's not an intense or demanding chore, but simon claims that "it's too boring" and he'd rather trade something else with you. it becomes an agreement for him to do most things in the room, and then you come in after to finish with a quick sweep and mop.

☼ he's extremely low maintenance. he always buys the cheapest products he sees, opting for a basic body wash and 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner. when you first started dating, he didn't even own a proper face wash, using the bar of soap from his shower. simon isn't the type to have a whole routine, but he does pay more attention to the things he purchases so he can impress you with a new scented body wash or a moisturizer you'd mentioned.

one of his favorite gifts to ever receive from you is a bottle of cologne, loving the way you're drawn to him every time he gives himself a spritz. now every christmas he asks you to get him a new one that you'd like him to wear!

☼ cannot handle spice for the life of him. we all know that foods in the UK are usually seasoned with just salt and pepper, and not commonly spicy, so he's sensitive to it. something you may consider mild will have him breaking into a sweat and chugging down a bottle of water to ease some of the burn. his cheeks get flushed red and he just shakes his head in pain, reminding himself to never trust you when you say "oh it's not that spicy!" ever again.

☼ he has the lowest screen time, averaging about 20-30 minutes a day, and that time is spent either texting/calling you, taking photos of you, looking through photos of you, or making lists for you. the only extra app he has downloaded is goodreads, and even then you were the one that downloaded it and created his account. his passcode is set as your birthday too of course.

he's a little obsessed.

"I don't," she says, returning her attention to the case report they're supposed to be working on. Despite his words, Mulder's eyes are glued to the movie and Scully can't help but smile.

Mulder and Scully bridge the gap between them-- and all because of Hallmark and memories.

They both start towards each other at the same time, laughing.

“Mulder, I don’t remember how to stop,” she says, trying to get her skates under control.

He’ll get up at night for a drink of water and Scully gets jarred out of postcoital bliss by the klaxon siren of intruder alert, intruder alert, Mulder cursing at the sink in the kitchen, yelling for Scully....

If she yells back for him to punch in the code, he does the wrong birthdate or botches the spelling of Queequeg. More often than not, she pads out in bare feet, tying her robe, entering the right code, filling the glass with cold water, sleepily herding a grumbling Mulder back to the warm bed.

Scully's house hates Mulder; and she loves him all the more for it.

Archiving/watching Youtube videos on Archive.org (Wayback Machine)

Special ep: archiving Watcher videos

Have both Youtube and archive.org open

Method 1: accessing the archived youtube channel

Copy the channel link and enter into the Wayback machine

Pick a snapshot (date at which the url was logged)

Welcome to the archived Youtube channel! You can click videos normally and you can watch them if they've been archived. If they have not been archived (yet) it'll automatically redirect you to a different one. An easy way to spot if a video has been archived is if the video is in the youtube ui (example below).

Alternative method: you can also access videos directly by entering the link to the specific video. A downside of this is that you'd need to already have a list of urls of the videos you'd want to watch!

Submitting videos to be archived

Have the url to the video you want to archive ready.

On the homepage, click the wayback machine logo (remember when you pasted the url into the search bar of the WBM? click the logo to the left). Then paste the link to the video into 'Save page now' and click 'save page'

Click 'save page' again and done! You can login to add them to your personal collection, but archiving can be done completely anonymously! The thing you see should be the confirmation page

Congrats on your first archive!! Now you can rewatch anything you want even it gets deleted/privated/unlisted etc :)

Part 2: Bottoms

After... oh god, lets not look at the dates okay? :') After a WHILE. (it's been almost a year I'm so sorry.) I have TF Separates available in the Pear Morph Project.~ This post has the Bottoms previewed, but the link goes to both downloads in one zip. The Top Previews are here.

please note, you need at least one of each (bottom and tops) to have them work properly. They'll show up just fine, but the fat morph is different enough that it WILL have gaps with other fatmorphs.

These separates include fat morphs only, no pregmorphs for the teenagers, sorry. I rarely have teen pregnancy in my game, so I didn't care enough to do them.

Also noted, the tf-naked meshes. The tftopnaked mesh is the mesh used for the tank tops shown in the preview. The tfbottom mesh is actually not used in any of the default clothing BUT you will need it if you wish for your fat sims to show this morph properly when naked (ie: showering). it also will affect any recolors using the tfbottomnaked mesh (for example, Epi's bottom only underwear and briefs). Please note, that other categories (formal,etc) will not be accessible through CAS or BS, but should be available through the closet after purchased (or if you have separatesforall mod by LazyDuchess.) Also in the same context, tops listed as sleep and underwear will only be available if you have custom bottoms that are also set that way, as none of the default bottoms I have here are set to either category.

Original default by rudhira I only added morphs. Set as Everyday and Formal.

This is an new default. original outfit by Deedee. Morphs are mine, and these are set to Everyday and Outerwear.

This is a new default. Original pants are by MML. morphs are mine, and these pants are set to Everyday and Outerwear.

tfbottomShorts:

This is a new default. there isn't a custom version, cause I really only made these for this. The textures for the shorts are from these, and the shoes are the H&M paisley patterned converses. I'm hoping to eventually make these custom. Pearmorphs, and set only to Everyday.

tfbottomShortscuffsandals:

This is a mesh only default. it replaces only the mesh, and any texture defaults will pick up the new mesh. with no other texture default it will show the original vanilla textures. They are based on Rudhira's mesh edits here. so they have the H&M converse shoes. I've added my morphs, and They are set only to Everyday. The previews show Lottie's texture replacements here.

tfbottomShortshorts:

This is a new default. The original outfit is by Deedee. Other versions of these shorts with different shoes have been made into defaults before, but these ones I didn't see. Has my morphs, and is set to Everyday only.

tfbottomSkirt:

Original default by Lemonlion. I only added my morphs. There is also a reasonable possibility I switched out some textures for other colors from the original custom skirts. Set to Everyday only.

tfbottomSkirtuboots:

This is a new default. the original skirt is by Deedee. My morphs added. It is set to Everyday, Formal, and Outerwear (due to the tights.)

tfbottomSlackheels:

This is a new default. The original pants are by Deedee. Pearmorph added, and set to Everyday and Formal.
