Am glad to see that Levan's receiving the "Yuusona treatment" because of the various ways that twst artists draws him lolol

• • • Headcanon 2.

Malenoa is the strongest of the trio. Because she is a royalty, she is much more knowledgeable about magic— particularly if its related to dragons. Naturally, she became kind of like a magical tutor to both Levan and Lilia when they were children.

i really like the thought of eastern dragons in TWST🥰 its a nice foreshadow that Levan is a Long bcs thats Malleus' Halloween costume✨

(if its really like that,,,, im going to cry bcs that means Malleus dressed up like his papa who he never knew 💔😭)

(also I'm praying with all my heart he's not some plot twist jerk in game like King Stefan from Maleficent 1 😭)

I think dragons are rare on TWST not only because they're really particular on their mates but also because raising one is extremely high maintainance.

Its 1: life threatening to the caretaker, 2: needs constant attention and love, 3: once it grows up, you even need to withstand its tantrums and emotions (who are btw magically powered) 😭💥

That's why I think ??? there's limited knowledge about mediating their power (so they just get stuck in this cycle of being the strongest but that very strength can bring disaster bcs its uncontrollable)

Thus, I thought of Malenoa being Levan's friend who teaches him about controlling his draconic powers because Levan doesn't really want to accidentally harm others because of his uncontrollable strength--✨✨✨

I like to think its because of Levan's pacifist nature that Land of Briar chose to have war treatiest first instead of just crushing the Silver Owls through Malenoa's military strength. He's aware that killing off humans would just make them more hostile to faes in general, and I don't think both Malenoa and Levan wants Malleus to grow up in war once he hatches-

Levan's fire is purple because I remember getting surprised when Overblot Malleus used that on his attack despite Land of Briar/Malenoa (?) being "mainly green colored" all this time...

So, I think that's one magic he got from his father??? because most of his features already derives from Malenoa (horns, tail, magic (i think his green fire is from Malenoa), straight hair, etc)

The purple fire might've originate from Malleus' mastery of void magic (I hc their dorm spells' element are their forte magic and Dorm Malleus is double void card) but we've never seen void magic used like a fire... its usually like an energy beam right? I think it was so exciting when he attacked like that💜👆‼️✨ (I literally squealed lol its so pretty?? but I know I'll die from that lol)

I love the thought that Lilia is the "mom friend"/"sensible friend" of this trio... 😂 because he says hes the one constantly working for these couple... mostly to deal with their antics lol

plus Lilia is literally the sole person working for Levan and Malenoa to meet together right now---

since Levan's missing and Malenoa can’t really leave the castle since she’s guarding unhatched Malleus--- and its just a bad move to send the best queen on the frontlines when they can just send Lilia yk 😆

i hope we get more dragon egg lore and also specifically egg malleus reveal🙌🙌 like how do THEY take care of a dragon egg anyway.... do they put it on cradles as well like human babies??? or their parents will hold them since they require vast amount of love-

i'd used to think malleus backstory would be his child self being lonely (which in the future might??? but for now?? his backstory is literally just him being an egg and all of us are crying over an egg JDHJWJD 😭😭😭

alright so hear me out hades and Beelzebub x male reader(can be a poly relationship or separate) who is the son of Solomon but they don't know about it

so like male reader decide to fight for humanity and to the end of his match Solomon randomly shows up so Beelzebub/hades puts male reader behind them knowing Solomon is a dangerous person…but male reader says something that shocks everybody thare

when male reader saw Solomon he unintentionally said "father/Dad?"…

truns out male reader is the son of Solomon but what was more surprising was that male reader was half demon!? (as his mother was a demon)

(Solomon would be a very over protective dad/father and would be the type of dad/farther that unintentionally embarrasses male reader and male reader is like "Dad/farther stopp your embarrassing meee!" covering his face in embarrassment type of father and son relationship)

-Your strength was unusual, given your pacifist nature and general unwillingness to fight, something your boyfriends didn’t mind, they liked that you were calm and soft.

-However, they both knew that you were way stronger than you looked- being able to handle both of them in bed on a regular basis was proof of that <3

-Beelzebub loved how soothing you were, he always felt so relaxed around you, like he could let all his walls down, just for a while. He would be cuddled on top of you at any given time, trapping you with cuddles.

-Hades adored you, as you would help him, where you could, with his paperwork, giving him more free time with you. You were like a security blanket for him, allowing him to be weak, he wasn’t a king with you- he was just a man.

-Many believed that you weren’t good enough for the two gods, as you were human, finding you beneath them, but that was one of the rare times where you wouldn’t mind showing your strength while your two lovers stood behind you, watching you handle business with ease, proving that you did belong with them.

-There were some who were curious, your lovers included, on where your strength came from, but you didn’t know your mother and you didn’t mention your father, so to most it was a mystery.

-The truth was, you did know who your father was, and you wanted to keep it quiet, as there were many who didn’t care for your father- finding him a threat due to his own power.

-You were chosen as a fighter in Ragnarok for humanity, due to your strength and you agreed to fight, as it wasn’t a fight to the death, and you wanted a chance to really test yourself.

-Your lovers were cheering for you as you fought against another god, easily winning but it was still a fun fight for you.

-Solomon grinned over at you, “I’m impressed- you’re really strong son!” everyone turned white, completely shocked, “SON?!” you smiled lightly, not looking bothered at all, “Thanks dad- it was pretty fun.” And once again, “DAD?!”

-All of Valhalla was quickly in an uproar, learning your lineage, including your own lovers, who were stunned, but not angry with you.

-Solomon ruffled the top of your head affectionately, which made you smile before he headed over, waving over his shoulder.

-Once backstage and after getting what little injuries you had checked out, you told your lovers the reason you never said anything about your lineage- about your dad being Solomon himself and about your mom being a demon.

-They were stunned to learn this, but they were understanding, as your reasoning for keeping quiet made sense, as there had been many already who tried to come after you, wanting to take revenge on Solomon by hurting you- however, your lovers were quick to put a stop to that.

-Hades cupped your cheek, pulling you into a soft kiss, making you hum softly before he spoke, “While we’re not mad- we should still punish you for keeping this from us~”

-Beelzebub and you both caught his tone as Beelzebub’s hand slid around to your front, at your chest before sliding up to your neck, squeezing softly, “I agree~”

-The soft whimper you gave was quick to flip that switch as they were going to make sure to thoroughly ‘punish’ you.

2. Who is your favorite character and why? Was it love at first sight?  Has any of their qualities or quirks swayed you on characters in other series?

Instinctively, Van.

He was my favorite character right from the beggining. And despite I now love the vast majority of characters (for many different reasons), I'm still really attached to him.

WHY ? > Mainly because Van's story is the (painful and challenging) process of a boy growing up to finally become a man.

He has the widest range of emotions through out the series, which makes him very realistic and human.

He is the combination of a Life of Duty, Fight, Revenge with the tough, rebelous and doubtful period of adolescence. These two concepts confront inside him and I just love the dynamic it gives to his character :

- Deep inside, Van is a shy, kind, sensitive, pacifist and simple young man > But must endorse a King role he never aimed to and has to learn to fight and kill if needed.

- He lacks of self confidence, is also very impulsive and wholehearted with his beliefs (he is still a teenager after all) > But has to deal with many adult and overwhelming situations (with other royals, leaders, politics...)

- Physically, he is quite small for his age and pretty puny > But reveals being strenghful, mature (on many aspects) and determined. Plus, very dangerous in critical situations :

When he kills several Zaibach soldiers in Energist mine.

When he slaughters all Dilandau’s soldiers.

When he finds and enters Zaibach invisible forteress 

I just love this contrast !

Gaea is a violent world for his kind soul. But he finally accepts his fate and deals with it the best he can, even if it's too heavy for his young and small shoulders.

He internalizes his suffering most of the time and that's why I sympathize so much for him.

His resilience always impressed me.

> He lost almost everything at the beginning of the story, but manages to overcome the situation. We clearly see Balgus' influence in him. (I always loved Balgus. A strong, stoic, proud but so reliable and very kind man. An excellent father figure for any young becoming man.)

By the way, I love the fact that the promise Balgus made to Hitomi to find a way to send her back home foreshadows Van x Hitomi relationship all over the series until its very end.

" We will find a way to send you back on Mystic Moon." " A Fanelian warrior never lies. "

Indeed, Van never lies to Hitomi. By friendship (and because he genuily understands her sadness for being separated from her family), he takes up the promise Balgus made her...

...and reminds her later (in a bitter way) Even if he is deeply irritated by her presence on the moment, frustrated and full of jealousy towards Allen : he WILL keep his promise.

And he will. Definitely. Despite their mutual love. I don't think many young men would do the same. That's why I find him so special. Was it love at first sight ?   > Here was the very first time I saw him.

Frankly, how can it not be a love at first sight ? I knew nothing about his character, neither the story of ESCAFLOWNE. But I instantanly understood in this scene he was desperatly in love with this girl kissing a "perfect blondie man" and that all his hopes just gone up in smoke ! I felt so bad for him... (I feel the same each time I rewatch this scene.)

(Second dose... In case the viewer would not really get how much his heart is broken !) Honestly... How can a heartbreak be so beautifully portrayed and hurt so hard in a single image !? I also love watching him get irritated and not understanding his own feelings. He saves and protects Hitomi most of the time but, paradoxally, is unable to properly express his love to her. He is so lost on that topic ! To finish : his character taught me a lesson on humanity has a young teenage : > The most dangerous person may not be the one who attacks, cheats, enforces domination or hurts people in the first place.... 

... But the most kind person, pushed to his own limits... (Dilandau just freaked out...) > Everyone can become a monster if pushed too far or blinded by its hatred/anger. We all have violence inside us and it can be easy to give in to it. For all these reasons, I love his character. [ > PART 3 ]

Kris - love them, adore them, will erase a timeline for them, fascinated by whatever the hell is going on with them, 10/10

Susie - YES. absolute feral queen, we stan, toby you did it again, 10/10

Ralsei - hes cute, but eh not feeling his ‘super pacifist’ vibe, or the swan boat implied romance stuff, still like him tho, 8/10

Lancer - absolute king, baby boy, light of my life, 10/10

Rouxls - if he doesnt show up in chapter 3 i will scream. he better end up as kris’ weird adopted uncle (and lancer’s adopted dad) by the end of this. 11/10

Jevil - what can i say, i like chaos, and i will never be able to beat him, 10/10

King - kill that man, 1/10

Noelle - im more interested in her lore and connection to the plot than. her. 7/10

Queen - toby said “y’know what we need? another sexy robot” and he was right, i love her, 10/10

Berdly - i hated his guts at first but, dammit i’m willing to learn to love him after his backstory, 7/10, points reducted for his noelle-protection fight being hard

hm. soldier poet king 2017 draft class, is this anything

hi! unfortunately this is soooo everything that i enlisted @kitnita to ponder with me abt it when i got this ask (as a fellow 2017 draft freak but with more knowledge on robo + otter while i. well. i maxed stats in one man) and we exchanged like. probably over a thousand words to basically come to the conclusion that. Yeah Any Of Them Could Fit Into Any Of the Three Roles But The Vibes Change. and now u get this long response!!

I wont. force u to listen to the full ramblings and analysis abt it but i will say the like. default one? it feels like? 2 me? is miro/soldier, otter/poet, robo/king BUUT the most fun one to me is otter/soldier, robo/poet, miro/king. otter as soldier is sooo fun because he LOVES to be a villain ESPECIALLY to a visiting team ("he will tear your city down"!!!) and he's. its so fun that the goalie is the soldier. like he is more of a soldier than jason "americas sweetheart" robertson oddly enough despite the goalie/skater roles of it all. and also the way he talks abt the game and winning zoe pointed out is very . lol. soldier esque bc it doesnt matter how all you have to do is win.

robo as poet is so funny bc his ass is NOTTT fighting like he just kinda mumbles words at the general direction of a scrum. pacifist poet boy (: also zoe pointed out that he loves to use big words to feel smart and is very deliberate abt how he talks to the media which we've been told many times is Not how he normally talks so!!

a dumb bitch. literally the entire plot of season 1 could've potentially been avoided if he WASNT SO STUPID AND JUST TOLD BLOOM THE TRUTH. was the cause of all of bloom's sad montages when she goes home to earth. needs to kick diaspro OUT of his life for good i get he feels bad where she's concerned but my dude. you have miss BLOOM PETERS!! appreciate her more!!!! still love him tho. he's an idiot but he's MY idiot and i will ultimately defend him and his poor choices bc he tries to give kiko (bloom's pet rabbit) a "man to man" talk (4kids dub) and he gave us iconic lines like "*wakes up from being dead for 5 minutes* bloom... you're AWESOME. will you be my girlfriend?" and then thanking her when she says yes (4kids dub) and OF COURSE: "you left the door.... WIIIIIIDE OOPPPEN" (rai english dub) sidenote: i laughed so hard when bloom's dad banned him from their planet in the second movie like GOD they're all so dramatic 😭

GET YOU SOMEONE WHO TREATS YOU THE WAY BRANDON TREATS STELLA. like my GOD. in season 2 when he's being forced to marry that one queen and he screams at her that he can't marry her bc he's in love with someone else and then when they're at stella's princess ball and she walks in and his JAW LITERALLY DROPS AND SKY HAS TO CLOSE HIS MOUTH FOR HIM. also that one episode in season 3 where stella gets put under a spell that makes her "ugly" and she, the girls and brandon go look for a way to break it and flora had put an illusion spell on brandon so he'd just see the old stella but then when stella is crying bc she doesn't think they can break the spell and she doesn't want brandon to leave her bc she thinks he only loves her for her looks but then he reveals that flora's spell wore off hours ago so he's BEEN seeing her and tells her he loves her not for her looks but the beautiful person she is inside....... set my standards way too high. also he's a really good friend and doesn't feel the need to be a jealous menace (minus season 4 kinda) like riven and sky can be. he KNOWS he's hot

the biggest moron in the entire show but you know what? it WORKS for him. i love him despite his dumbass jealous tendencies. i get it, he's scared the person he likes will eventually see how awful he thinks he is so he covers his emotions by being a giant jerk. but my dude, my guy, sometimes you gotta let yourself be vulnerable :( you can't always have these huge walls up and push away the people you care about!!! him recognizing his mistakes in season 4 in regards to musa and him trying to better himself was GOOD and RIGHT and they threw it away and i'm still upset about it lol also in season 3 when he saw musa and nabu together for like 0.2 seconds and he IMMEDIATELY got on his leva bike to go wherever the fuck they were to beat the shit out of nabu only to get his own ass beat and then become bffs with nabu is one of the funniest moments in the whole series ps he and bloom would've made a great couple and i'll die on this hill !!!

he has the biggest dick of the entire group i just KNOW it. he's smart, kind, considerate and is constantly in awe of his equally smart girlfriend. he NEVER tries to talk down to her or hold her back. and he rips his glasses off before going in for the kiss so he gets extra sexy points for that. he's literally so unproblematic i can't think of a single one of his flaws. except maybe when he wasn't understanding that tecna wanted him to see her as more than just a tech buddy but we all know he's been simping for that woman since he met her he's just bad at expressing it sometimes

KING. SHIT. god i love him so much. the way he's introduced as a pacifist in season 2 but in the SAME EPISODE we see him using force to defend flora and ONLY flora as his hair blows beautifully in the wind and he makes sure she's ok before leaving. IM STILL SCREAMING ABOUT ITTTT. also he draws so. you know. that's hot. he's on thin fucking ice after his haircut in season 4 tho... never forget what they took from us!!!!

HES SO UNDERRATED IT MAKES ME UPSET!!!! like cmon he's a WIZARD!!!!!! he has questionable taste in being besties with riven but i'll let it slide bc he's the only guy who is fairly competent in a fight even tho everyone else actually goes to a whole ass school that's supposed to teach them how to be heroes and fight. i feel like they could've used him more when fighting valtor bc hello... that's the only other wizard we see lmao basically i'm sad he was introduced so late into season 3 and that..... THAT.... happened in season 4 :( he deserved so much better

I love Pagan, as well as Relena of course, so I wanted to translate this mini comic from the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Encyclopedia. It's an interesting little backstory for Relena and the Sanc Kingdom too.

The Avatar State Re-Watch

Watching this episode is really stressful because I have to pretend I care about what's happening in the plot & with all the characters as if it's not the episode when my personal Blorbo of All Time is introduced.

(Yes I got excited about the flashback, & the end of Book 1 as well. Her Royal Highness Princess Azula is just that special that she gets three Offical Introductions™ okay)

Anyway...

Okay, so, the Gaang is heading for Omashu where Aang is planning to learn earth bending from King Bumi. That's when we meet one of the most unpleasant side characters of the show. Boo, Fong, me & all my homies hate Fong. Right after we learn about the nightmares that Aang is having about the power he wielded during the Siege of the North Part 2 while in the Avatar State/soul bonding with the ocean spirit, this asshole uses peer pressure to try to force Aang into the Avatar State again to defeat Ozai.

I had honestly forgotten that the show does a decent job of exploring Aang's fears regarding his own power. This episode is where we see that he's becoming affected not just by the burden of his responsibility, but by fear of what he's capable of. A big criticism I've had so far along this re-watch is that the Gaang is continuously responsible for the deaths of Fire Nation soldiers - 'Imprisoned,' 'The Northern Air Temple,' & 'The Siege of the North Part 2,' are the biggest examples so far, yet Aang is shocked & horrified at the thought of killing Ozai in Book 3. This is not because I'm on team "Aang should've killed Ozai," again, I just think the show can be hypocritical about the whole "no-kill" rule. That said - I think this episode comes close to handling the issue well, & it certainly does a good job of exploring Aang's inner motivations & fears. Aang is terrified of the amount of power he wields, & not just because of this great responsibility he has, but because the Avatar State can be quite destructive. He's having nightmares about what he did during 'The Siege of the North Part 2,' he's struggling with reconciling this scary destructive force with his own nature as a pacifist, & also just a kid.

Katara & Aang's conflict in this episode is pretty engaging because both sides make sense. While Aang ultimately realizes that 1. Fong is an insane asshole & 2. Fong is wrong that the Avatar State is the only way to win this war - it makes sense for him to consider Fong's arguments at the start. After all, on a logical basis, they are running out of time for Aang to learn the four elements. On Katara's side, we have her knowledge that discipline & hard work are the way to master the elements & her care for Aang as a person, not just the Avatar. It's a well-done conflict & we ultimately realize that Aang needs to master the elements on his own. Oh, & we get the fun little info from Rokku about the Avatar's potential destruction. I'm sure that won't be important later! I'll be honest, I don't love what they did with Sokka in this episode. After a lot of development in Book 1 & experiencing a devastating loss in the season finale, Sokka is back to being the comedic relief with no real inner conflict of his own as of this episode which is a bit disappointing. I did like him bonking Fong on the head though.

So, Book 2 has a new villain to be More Eviller & Scarier™ than Zuko & Iroh now that Zhao has been sucked into Hell where he belongs. I'm sure this is a villain I'll be completely normal about. But she sure does have an iconic introduction!

I just feel like Azula's level of badassery can never actually be underappreciated.

The Fire Hazard Siblings reunite in this episode & it's crazy to think that 2 years ago I was watching this cartoon thinking "this is a kinda interesting dynamic, hm" & now I still care a completely normal amount about these dysfunctional evil siblings in a kid's cartoon & I definitely don't spend 28 hours a day 366 days a year thinking about the stupid imperialist family of assholes.

Anyway, Azula shows up & Zuzu is filled with joy to be reunited with his baby sister. Not. Zuko greets Azula with disdain even without knowing her intentions, which is interesting because he's pretty ready to trust her. Iroh is mistrustful from the get-go, which makes a lot of sense because he knows his brother & he knows this probably isn't the reconciliation mission Azula is claiming. Zuko's attitude toward Azula is unrelated to whether he trusts her. We saw in 'The Siege of the North Part 2' that Zuko has a hate boner for *ahem* is harboring a hell of a lot of resentment for his sister. He thinks everything comes easy for her. He sees her as having taken his father's affection, something he is desperate to obtain. So, right off the bat, we have some extremely complicated & fascinating family dynamics at play.

Azula gets a lot of praise for "do the tides command this ship" & she absolutely should because it's an iconic & terrifying introductory speech BUT I think MY personal favorite Azula moment in this episode is when the wool is pulled from Zuko's eyes & he yells "you lied to me!" & she responds "like I've never done that before?"

This is where the mask is lifted - but only partially. Azula isn't one of my favorite characters of all time for nothing - this girl has so many layers to explore. There's the calculated politician who is always playing a mind game & never telling the truth - that's who we see at the start. Then there's the mean & twisted bully who immediately starts insulating & belittling Zuko once the gig is up, playing at his worst insecurities to get under his skin by reminding him that their father sees him as pathetic & a failure. Later, we'll meet the scared & lonely girl hiding deep down, but she's buried pretty deep, so not yet.

Azula & Zuko's fight is just iconic. We get to see both of their fighting styles & how they work against each other as well as Azula using her keen ability to get under Zuko's skin, something only a sibling could do so effectively even after years apart. Zuko is an aggressive fighter, while we see Azula deftly dodging his attacks more often than fighting back, even choosing to scratch him rather than burn him - which is a tiny hint at something more going on under the surface - Azula doesn't want to kill her brother. This claim doesn't come with some great declaration that Azula is actually a softie, I just think that she's an incredibly skilled fighter & it's impressive to see the way she maneuvers to avoid doing worse damage than necessary to Zuko. She wants to take him prisoner, but not strike a killing blow herself.

At the end of the episode, we get a pretty significant moment from Iroh & Zuko. They severe their hair & their ties with the Fire Nation, cutting off their royal headpieces. This represents a pretty huge shift in their role in the story & I'm so excited about re-watching their journey & where they go from here!

We do know in the recent chapter he was a King of the Sorbet Kingdom, I headcanon that the World Government targeted his kingdom and forced him to be under their rule. With that being said, he later becomes a rebel from their tyranny and eventually a spy. 

We also somewhat know he had a wife named Connie, I assume she passed away or something (typical Oda fashion). This could have also led him to his desire to be a rebel.

I truly believe Kuma wanted peace, thus the name Pacifist comes from his peaceful nature. It also explains his devil fruit that repels attacks. However, peace was never an option for Kuma and he had to be tyrant pirate to push himself higher to his main goal.

When he met Luffy and the others, it was then his heart softened a bit, knowing that there was a chance to bring peace to the world. But he also knew that Luffy wasn’t strong enough yet and needed to grow stronger in order to take on the other warlords and emperors. 

Loves his daughter to pieces and wants her to live a good life! I think he would be a little disappointed/worried that she became a pirate like him, but he’s also proud of her leadership skills to be a captain of her own crew!

Bonney also seems to love her father dearly, to the point even defending a Pacifist. While I am sure there is more to it, I also believe his love for his child has passed down so heavily on her that even the image of him is enough to bring her to tears. 

I kind of just wanted to add this for love purposes, but I think he would be a very patient and understanding lover! Not one to get into your boundaries and stays strong with his own wants/needs to not overwhelm you. A literal perfect gentleman!

When she’d signed up for the club, she’d thought it was just going to be a fun intramural thing. Hiking? Climbing? The great outdoors? Sign her up! Anything to get out of the midterm slump and into the sunshine! Then, the big spring hike had happened. The big spring hike and climb. The big spring hike and climb where Rachel King was assigned as her designated climbing buddy.

Of all the people to get paired with, why oh why did Sam have to get stuck with her?! They couldn’t be less alike if they tried! Sam's a pacifist and Rachel spends all her weekends at the shooting range. Sam goes with the flow and Rachel took the flow out back and shot it like Ol’ Yeller to make room for more rules. Sam has a sunny disposition and “Queen Bitch” is the nicest nickname people use to describe Rachel.

So when they get separated from the rest of the group and have to rely on each other to get back home safely...holy shit, they’re both gonna need all the help they can get.

It was obvious enough what she was doing, Sam just...didn’t want to acknowledge it. At all. If she asked, Rachel would have to answer, and that answer would absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, make her angry. So there was no point.

Only Rachel was being quiet to the point of being spooky, and God help them, being on speaking terms would probably be a necessary part of them working together to get home.

“So, uh...” Sam sniffed slightly, trying to keep her voice friendly. “Whatcha doing over there?”

She continued to be quiet for a time, her fingers working the twine deftly until she lifted the whole thing up to her mouth and cut the end off with her teeth. A little too practiced, that move. She wanted Sam to know she’d done it before, and about a hundred times over, at that. “Making a snare,” she said after a time, tying off one last knot. “It’ll come in handy when we have to catch something to eat.”

Catch something to...oh for the love of...Sam literally faked a sneeze to give herself a reason to reach up and cover her face without drawing Rachel’s attention. For maybe a second longer than needed, she hid there in the darkness of her cupped palms, her eyes rolled up so high they nearly slid back into her skull. “Oh. Huh. Y’know, I...don’t think we’re gonna have to worry about...that.”

“Better to have it and not need it than be unprepared.” Slowly, Rachel’s eyes slid towards hers, catching there for less than a moment before moving back to the snare. “You might change your mind once you get hungry.”

“Well we’ve only been away from the group for an hour and I have at least three granola bars in my pack, so...” She forced her mouth into a shape that could reasonably be described as a smile. “I really do think we’re going to be okay without, um...going after the local rabbit population, actually.”

“I guess we’ll see one way or another, won’t we?”

"The Goode Family" Observation Part 3

"Nothing ever gets solved with violence". Okay, you can either go with these folks love Che Guevara or go with these folks are extreme pacifists. You cannot do both. The show has a problem of when anyone is further Left than the titular Goode Family then they are just terrorists. Or to be fair, there was one time where the "further Left" person was living a life of self-imposed poverty (to get away from his wives, children, and debt). They could not resist the low hanging fruit of having the reformed gang members (who are all People of Colour), still steal something at the end. Damn, this show is racist. "Why do we have to listen to public radio on our computer, its barbaric". That line does not age well tbh. Even their fantasies are being Upper Class. Blahhh. The "Leftwing" Father is surprised that a business man cares more about money than a person's life/financial-ruin. See what I mean when I say they write the Father as too out-of-touch? Okay. So now the daughter getting a job is "Conservative" (even tho the Father has a job). When a few episodes ago the parents were afraid the daughter would leach off the system. You see what I mean by inconsistent? Like inconsistent, in a way where there is no internal logic to these characters. The Father is deeply uncomfortable "toppling current power structures", but is a fan of Che Guevara. Okay.

If you ever wanted the fem-version of Bill from "King of the Hill", this shows got you covered. The show is pretty Fatphobic. When the show want to scare our skinny leads, they show a fat person in the scene. When the show wants someone to be definitely (perceived as) ugly or a loser, they just make 'em fat. Well. The neighbor lied about his age to kill the Vietnamese in the War. Which... Yikes. The show oddly comes out as Pro-Child Labour. Okay, I guess. "Not to gender type, but you know how women can be." That line disgusts me on several levels. It really is funny (possibly intentionally so), that the deeper you go into this show. The more it solidifies that the Goode's activism basically amounts to... shopping at expensive, organic store. Later, it seems to imply that the store is a chain store and not even like a true local business (or Co-Opt). I guess this is the problem with some forms of activism, is they just become based solely around individualist consumption and steeped in consumerism. Also. Another, "Petitions are useless" messaging. Which Okay. It just still feels like any action that does not solely rely on just the individual and/or the household is outright disregarded.

Lucifer:

I did something like this for him in this post already, but to highlight some stuff:

Answering kids’ questions about life can be rough, you know? I feel like sometimes he’d answer w/ some complete bs on purpose. (which, according to him encourages critical thinking of the world and it teaches how you shouldn’t trust just anyone. don’t buy.)

I think teenagers don’t like him for several reasons (being bossy, thinking he’s better than anyone, etc.) which leaves him surprised, mostly, but he only really cares if he is the parent.

Regardless of what the kids think he’d still love them though. Like he might complain and all but at the end he loves his kid and if he has to he can go the extra mile for them. 

Also I think he doesn’t spend as much time with them as he’d want to so that is one problem to be solved. You know he is very family oriented but he is also busy all the time - this can make kids think he doesn’t care about them at all, or worst, they might think he doesn’t even love them...

I think when both of you are busy / out on a date he’d trust uncle Mammon to do his babysitting duty.

This goes without saying but anyways, I think we can all agree that he’d be a strict parent, like if the poor kid gets a B they are getting punished, unless they have a good reason in their defense. Also they have to help with chores obviously. 

Satan:

As much as he’d like to be different than his father, some of his ways he just can’t help. I think he wouldn’t reply with nonsense as often, but sometimes he definitely does it on purpose.

Spends much more time with them thus they have a better bond. They can and will team up against you for example when you need to decide what to have for dinner. But also they always surprise you on your Bday as a team.

I think he’d prepare them for domestic life, as in teaching them how to change a light bulb, how to cook/bake and very simple DIY stuff. (like putting on a shelf) (also how and what to recycle, how not to waste food, etc) Makes them pay close attention to their emotions and helps them gain control.

Though he also wants them to refine their intellectuality so he’d urge them to get higher education. This will probably cause problems if the kid doesn’t want it though, so you might have to step in.

Dad puns / jokes all day.

I feel like he’d be the dad who embarrasses his kids at like. grocery stores (or public in general), mainly because of his sense of fashion.

ah..imagine kids running up to him in a fit after they fell and hurt their knees or something... oh no he has to be so gentle now... (also. very quick to figure out the trick of “if you pretend you didn’t see they’ll just move on”)

Diavolo:

I think he’d make a fun dad despite not knowing so much about parenting. That is why he is insecure and not so sure about it at first, but I think he’d have it in him to be a great dad. (makes mistakes sometimes though)

Every weekend you go somewhere with the family, a zoo, an amusement park, the beach, sledding, maybe just fishing. His kids love him so much and want to do everything with him all the time (and so does him). When they are babies he gets himself this baby carrier and might even take them to work sometimes. No need to feel jealous though, they get to spend time with you too when he is busy on the week days.

I feel like he’d spoil them so much though, something he just can’t help. I mean he doesn’t want to be like his father was to him, obviously. (also like... as they are royals... how are they supposed to not be spoiled...)

I think the main lessons he’d teach them is honesty and learning to balance work and free time. Also as he is probably the first pacifist prince / king in history he’d want his kids to continue on this road, but obviously he can only do so much about that.

As he is strong he’d do so much physical play with them when they are still very young, like playing airplanes, spinning them, etc. On that note, he is the best to keep up with their energy levels, playing tag, etc. Depending on the number of kids he might get tired at some point, but 1-3 kids he can handle perfectly fine.

 Oh on that note, in case he has multiple kids he is the best dad at teaching them how to get over their sibling-rivalry. Listen since he is an only child this would be a very foreign concept & it worries him more than anything to see his kids fight each other. Must find a solution to this!!

Leviathan:

Hmm I not sure if he’d really want kids, but if you manage to convince him he’d make a conscious father.

Does his best not to embarrass them but he might fail at that sometimes.

Unlike Diavolo, he’d much rather quiet, stay-in weekends. Sometimes visiting a body of water is fine though (imagine him teaching them how to swim aaa). Or if his kid preforms something at a school event he is there to see and take a video!!!! even if he is the only parent at the event!!!!

Can’t handle rebellious phases at all though. Gets very emotional.

Similar to Satan, he’d team up with his kids to surprise you on special days. Obviously him and his kids have a special bond since they always play video games together. (You included of course!!!!!)

Playing Devil Kart so often and sometimes he lets his kid win, all fun and games until the kid(s) gets better at it than him...

The main lessons he’d teach them is to be passionate, go all in, and not to be afraid to like whatever they do. If he learns his kid loves something he makes them a personalized birthday cake in that theme.

Would continue cosplaying but obviously now he includes his kid(s) as well!! can’t get over how adorable the little overall is which he made for them.

In case you manage to have him leave his room, maybe to go to the playground or on a trek or something, he is a very well prepared parent (that’s why you might have to wait for him before you go), ready to carry the heaviest backpack if needed (do it for the team✊), full of sandwiches and water bottles.
