so i'm coming from LA and a friend's reccomendation, and i was told zoro keeps the crew's single braincell safe until someone needs it, can you confirm this?
this is definitely a loaded question, because my gut instinct was to say, “no! absolutely not!” he’s plenty smart, but not the keeper of the braincell. he’s the levelheaded backbone of the crew and the voice of reason when circumstances get utterly dire—and he’s an expert at close-range battle strategy—but 99% of the time he is one of the crew’s TOP mayhem mode enablers.
HOWEVER, i can absolutely see how you (and/or your friend) would get that impression from OPLA. despite the delicious violence (and sass!) OPLA zoro gave us, he is significantly less chaotic overall. in some ways, OPLA zoro feels closer to post-timeskip manga zoro—pre-ts manga zoro is just as silly as the rest of the straw hats—
(exhibit A—healing after trying to cut his own legs off)
(exhibit B—going without a coat or shoes on a winter island for “training” reasons, then regretting it a little)
but even after the timeskip (when he gets a bit more serious) he’s still Prime Dumbass (affectionate)
(exhibit A—they’re attempting to infiltrate another country using fake names and… well. 10/10 creativity, guys. absolutely killing it.)
(exhibit B—the joke here is that they’re attempting a stealth mission, but Zoro has just leveled several buildings and left a number of bodies in his wake… and yet…)
—all in all, manga/anime zoro is similar but fundamentally different from OPLA zoro, so the short answer is no, although he does have his turn with the crew braincell (and he’s by no means unintelligent), he’s definitely not the primary braincell holder. he’s way too chaotic for that, and we love him for it (♡-_-♡)
if anyone on the crew holds the braincell for safekeeping, i would argue it’s either nami or jinbei

I know it’s genuinely not his fault since there’s other unforeseen factors, but watching the recent jjk episode really brings to light the unintended consequences of megumi doing literally anything in the manga. Saves yuuji—>sukuna is reincarnated. Summons Mahoraga—>the city is destroyed by sukuna to nullify it. Stays with yuuji in the culling games—>sukuna takes over megumi’s body and kills people he loves. Doesn’t consider tsumiki being a reincarnated sorcerer—>sister dies

Wow. I am reeling unexpectedly hard from the RT news
I can’t say I didn’t see the writing on the wall, especially after they cancelled RTX but… jeez I’m a lot sadder than I thought I would be
That was a huge chunk of my childhood, something I loved, something I shared with my sisters, and now it’s gone I’m a lot more upset than I thought I would be

I have said this before but me being self proclaimed number 1 Ryoma fan and that being possibly literal-bc even if this bro had fans before me I might’ve simply done the most for him by talking about him so much + being the first to write fics that are in depth studies on his trauma across canons-I gotta say if there’s one other character I rotate a lot that isn’t him it’s probably Kei. (Shocking it’s not Hayato even if I do think about him too- but it’s usually associated with Ryoma bc gays 🗿)
I’m not even exaggerating when I say Kei would be my favorite and only isn’t because she doesn’t exist in many other canons yet my brain rotates the endless possibilities of how to incorporate her. I’ve already written a fic where she’s in shin vs neo verse which worked surprisingly well but I’ve been thinking how universally she could appear in other things. (Whether it be fitting her into a idea of a possible Go team in New or just a new canon completely) I think what I’ve narrow it down to is that she could be like- in Michirus role? Like she’s the supporting female who isn’t a pilot but helps out the real occasionally which I think would align very well especially with the original manga role she has of being Hayato’s assistant. And even if Hayato isn’t grandpa mode yet he still very much is in Saotomes position at that point. Not sure if she’d Hayato’s biological kid to further parallel Saotome and Michiru given well Hayato already adopts the Go team and his wife is irrelevant LOL.
I have no idea if I’ll ever write this specific idea but I’m still- rotating it cause this is such a easy way to get around “picking between Sho or Kei as the 2nd pilot” since both of them can still exist even if one doesn’t get to pilot, idm my supporting females. (Granted there could always be like- plot line where Sho gets hurt so Kei is temporary pilot but I can’t remember if Getter ever really did this since “once your hurt your ass is basically replaced” lol)

i don’t even want to fuCKING TALK ABOUT IT
bnha manga spoilers!
geT THE FUCK OUT OF HERE HE’S SO CUTE AND HE’S SO TINY NEXT TO HIS DADDY AND NATSUO LIKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is touya-nii like this is touya-nii, minus the tattoos over the scars that’s exactly how i see him; his exact height, his fluffy hair!!!!!!!!!!!! little tufts curling up at the base of his skull!!! get the FUCK out of here!!!!!
i genuinely cannot do this my heart can’t handle it i feel like i need to go into hiding for a million years just to process this single panel also what the fuck is going ON in this chapter i’m so confused and like sincerely terrified with how this whole family’s story is going to end?????
i just want dabi to get the ending he, as a character, deserves—meaning i want it to be well-written and impactful and fucking heart wrenching. i don’t want something happy and fluffy and unrealistic and fan-servicey. i want horikoshi to rip my heart from between my ribs with his bare hands, stomp on it with dabi’s big black boots, set fire to it and then eat the ashes. i want to be sobbing; full on chest shuddering ribs rattling voice shattering sobs that hurt so much they leave my throat raw and my entire body trembling. so i hope he can pull it off LMAO we’ll see
i feel like it’s kind of like a catharsis thing??? dabi is my favourite character of all time and he means so fucking much to me and he (+ the todoroki fam in general) brings me so much comfort it’s actually insane. but i would rather his story have a GOOD, absolutely heartbreaking but impactful and meaningful ending than he get some sort of bullshit happy-go-lucky ending that doesn’t at all fit with his story of tragedy and trauma or do it justice. to me, dabi’s story is a cautionary tale; shouto’s story is the story of forgiveness and redemption. but i guess we’ll see what happens~

I feel like we need a supplemental extra volume that goes into what the LunariGems did during their 10,000 years :(
Like the whole Bort and Dia brief interaction - like did they resolve ANYTHING? The last thing we saw was Dia being a bossy little snot and demanding that the Diamonds reconvene at some feast that night
Or Rutile and Padparadscha - we saw Rutile recovered enough from their own mental break to be a psychologist and therapist for others, so what happened?
And what about the Amethyst twins? They didn’t have much conflict (actually their change was the most positive out of the codependent relationships of the Gems) but I’d like to know what they were thinking when they reunited

very interested in how marvel + dc are both experimenting with the webtoon format (infinite scroll/minimal paneling + simpler art style) and how what is published in that format is not traditional superhero stories but things that might be more in line generically with what you would find in a webtoon (for example, making a whole comic dedicated to romance, which is a very popular webtoon genre but not a popular genre for the comics you’d find in an american comic book store)
it’s very different from the early days of infinite comics, where the paneling was often very important and it moved from panel to panel with powerpoint animations. and it’s always interesting to see how marvel and dc respond to other comic forms and try to capitalize on what is popular. especially right now when it seems like the traditional comic book industry is perpetually on the edge of dying.

HAVE YOU HEARD! HAIKYUU NEWS!
UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE and I’m sorry for being a negative Nancy but I’m just… actually so sad? Like the manga has amazing narrative power and the pacing is just so intensely satisfying and I’m scared to see it all go. Of course im happy we at least get something, but I just don’t think there’s a way they can make the ending satisfying for everyone, they’re gonna HAVE to get rid of some moments that were important to some of us and I’m already mourning that lol
