Mandatory rant about kaveh’s 2023 birthday letter incoming!!

Kaveh and Alhaitham’s birthday message subject lines are seen to mirror the other through their usage of punctuation, as Alhaitham’s subject line reads as: “…” as opposed to Kaveh’s: ‘!!!’.

A sense of familiarity evoked in their current living situation emanates from these mirrorings and within this message. Kaveh writes about him bringing coffee beans “home” in order to try, and then follows this with: “we compared the taste of each, we decided that this was the best”. Through Kaveh’s explicit usage of the word “home”, it is evident that the “we” refers to him and Alhaitham. This description establishes a sense of domesticity, only to be achieved in a mutually agreed ‘home’ as opposed to a ‘house’.

It is relevant to reference Kaveh’s understanding of “home”, as in a place in which words are not necessary and link it to the idea of companionship being more important than understanding. The latter idea consists of supporting a person, regardless of the ability to empathise with and relate to their particular struggles, should be valued over attempting to be understood by people who are not willing to listen in order to understand - established by Kaveh’s mother within his hangout.

In this, Alhaitham is offered as a companion to Kaveh, where he cannot empathise with Kaveh’s artistic and idealistic struggles, but he is willing to listen to him over offering empty words which cannot solve Kaveh’s particular problems.

Kaveh’s understanding of “home” as a place in which people are at ease with each other and support another regardless, can be seen within his relationship with Alhaitham.

Kaveh and Alhaitham split the chores according to Alhaitham’s character stories; they both make attempts to decorate the house; presumably they eat dinner together, according to Alhaitham’s Story Quest where he excuses himself in order to have dinner, only to talk to Kaveh; the two can be seen to share a study; when ordering out, Kaveh orders extra for Alhaitham – a common enough occurrence for Alhaitham to be confident in relying on this; and for Kaveh’s birthday they try coffee beans together to determine the best ones to send onto Kaveh’s friends - Kaveh’s close friends who are also Alhaitham’s.

Rather than the “cold” and “lonely” house which Kaveh was left with after the passing of his father and departure of his mother, this conjures the image of warmth and familiarity. In this, it can be inferred that the two have created a home together.

I get the appeal of roleplaying with someone else #I'm usually such a control freak about the stories I tell lmao #with the visual aids in this set I get to imagine the character dynamics so much more easily #like this time around the senpai picked the scientist archetype #and he made that guy a white guy with some means who has been sending people to death to serve his science #and my character's an asian guy who was with a pest control service (yes I picked the trevor henderson character lmao) #who got drafted into the bureau and works as like cleanup/fodder #so immediately I got to go like oh so I hate your guts. and you condescend at me #which turned out to be a Very fun dynamic to roleplay lmao #throughout act 1 we've made this dynamic steadily Worse. one of them envies the other into oblivion #while the other can now communicate with No one except his mission partner #and we're gonna craft the second act as chase. a predator and a prey. gods. it was SO fun #its so funny both of them were touting to be smart or good at their job. and then they went into the zone and Immediately got fucked up #this game really gives u that satisfaction and fascination with like. when things go wrong in way too thematically fitting and messy ways #lmao my contract's fulfilled I do not have to talk this game up. its just really fun. man I enjoy that so much #sadly my pool of english speakers who can play this game with me is not big #I'll try and find time to run a few small games in the near future... maybe during lunar new year #I was over at the senpai's today to toast out birthdays lol. to get that out of the way we've been planning something like that for weeks #weve been both way too busy. with different sliding scales of uh. how pleasant that busy's been

After Azran Legacy Descole was left with a lot of clothes, personal items, and various souvenir trinkets left behind by the other former passengers of the Bostonious none of which was ever properly retrieved due to the groups sudden parting.

Rather than throwing it all out Descole has been trying to covertly return all items back to their original owners and because it’s Descole he’s probably returning the objects and whatnot in the most complicated way possible over a period of time.

Auroras stuff in particular remains safely stored in a box on the Bostonious.

i saw ur post about teeth issues and wanted to offer some help? assuming you live in the us and have little to no income you can qualify for medicaid insurance very easily and lots of places will accept it. i was able to get some teeth pulled, fillings, and root canals this way and havent had to pay for any of it. also dental colleges will offer free treatment to people as a way to train students, some might even compensate you for your time as well! btw sorry if this is overstepping at all, ive dealt with some pretty bad dental stuff while being employed so i understand how difficult it can be

i do have insurance (was told to apply for medicaid only if i didnt meet the threshold for the one i got) but it sucks and its not accepted anywhere + has a big ❌ for dental... im currently looking into the closest thing i have to a free clinic adjacent to the dental college part, in my area, but its not giving me much info t_t i will ask soon
