#we have some Iris/Sherloque
shrinkthisviolet · 11 months
Note
Also I think rather than inviting Sherloque as yet another Wells during series 5 they could have used that Barry's a CSI and Iris is an investigative journalist and Joe and Ralph are already detectives and just had some more Eobard and also maybe some more Harry if Arrow was going to just kill him and Jesse off screen
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
Sherloque was such an unnecessary Wells in s5, and he really got on my nerves fast. The only plot-relevant thing he really did was expose Nora working with Thawne, but tbh I didn’t even like that—I wish Nora had told them herself, or that Iris and/or Barry has discovered it and now had to figure out what to do about it.
Or Cisco!! He’s directly affected by Thawne—what if he found out and came to the conclusion that Thawne was manipulating her, so he talked to her and empathized with her? And then, when she tells the Team, Cisco’s in her corner to say “hey, it clearly isn’t okay that this is Thawne’s plan, but don’t blame Nora. She was manipulated by him, just like we all were, 4 years ago”
And also, yeah—they could’ve used time from his scenes to flesh out Iris as a reporter (which was sorely needed—this didn’t happen post-s1 until s6, and it should’ve happened earlier), let Barry do more CSI stuff, let Harry come back (since when is emotional intelligence not useful?? Seems like something this Team could use this season), maybe let Jesse come back too, etc. I just…why did we need Sherloque. Genuinely why. He’s so annoying and pointless
send me unpopular opinions, and I’ll rate them!

So I got through the 5th season of The Flash and I have some things to say about it. I may spoil some things but I am going to keep things as brief as possible.
The Flash's suit for this season is just downright ugly af. Like, whoever thought it was a good idea to remove the like chin part just should not be in costume design because doing that doesn't do any favors to the actors face if you know what I mean.
Nora is an annoying character that, like a lot of characters on this show, never seems to learn her lesson. There were so many episode where she'd just speed into a bad situation without thinking things through first and she would keep doing that and never really learned that lesson. She also gets this like episode and a half of being sort of a villain but even that was meh and didn't last and felt meaningless in the end. Not to mention that Nora spends a lot of the early part of the season hating Iris and then we see that was all Nora doing that and that Iris was being a good mother to her in the future. She was just really annoying and I was glad when the season ended and she disappeared.
Cisco was very strange this season. Like, for most of the season he is fine being both Vibe and his usual super smart self. But, once he realizes that he could make a meta-human cure, he very quickly changes his mind and briefly decides that he no longer wants to be Vibes but then once Caitlin calls him out on it he goes all "You think I don't want to be Vibe" which is stupid because he literally had said that before so I don't know why he got all defensive like that. He even goes and tells his new GF that he is Vibe but then at the end of the season, give himself the meta-human cure so...I don't know why he told her that he Vibe because now he isn't.
Barry and Iris seem to be pretty much the same this season, same with Caitlin. There was the new Wells in the form of Sherloque Wells and he was both annoying and a little bit funny sometimes but he is also the one who exposes Nora's secret of working with Thawne which was a whole thing because she is the reason that when they think they defeated the season villain, Cicada, another one comes from the future that they have to deal with and that is all because Nora is there.
I don't know, season five is just kind of in the middle for me. I don't love the season and I don't hate the season either.

Continuing on the Fandom Meme ask game because I needed a whole post just for this answer (I am Like That, what can I say? 😉 ). Here’s the final one from @oftincturedwords Thanks again! 😁
X - top 5-10 characters who are yoUR PRECIOUS BABIES AND YOU WILL DIE DEFENDING THEM
No, this wasn't supposed to be 10 Characters from the Flash who are my bbs but that's what you're getting, sorry. I WILL THROW HANDS FOR ANY OF THESE SWEET LITTLE BEANS. (But I hope I don't have to because I'm am soft and smol and if somebody hit me I would cry. 😭😜 )
In no particular order except for the last 2 because they are Like That just like I am. But all of my bbs are all precious to me. And counting backwards because Somebody wanted to be both number 1 AND the grand finale. ;)
10. Barry Allen
Tumblr media
Barry often gets overlooked in my EXTREME REVERSE FLASH FANGIRLING but I do really love him, too. He’s always trying his best, even when he makes mistakes, and I believe he truly has a heart of gold. ILU, my sweet little bean. ♥
9. Nora West-Allen
Tumblr media
I admit, I didn’t warm up to Nora right away but I blame the writing for that. For some reason, they leaned HARD on the whole “bumbling naive youngster who thinks she knows better than everybody” and “angry!teen super angry with her mom” tropes and I found that off-putting at first. However, I think if she would’ve had a chance to grow beyond that, she showed that she has a lot of heart, like her dad, and intelligence and compassion like her mom. I really would like to have seen her be a part of Team Flash after they moved beyond pushing those tropes on her so much. Once she was gone, I’ve really missed her. And that scene where she’s written out of the timeline never fails to break my heart. ☹ Poor bb bean. She deserved better. ♥
8. Eddie Thawne
Tumblr media
Every time I rewatch s1, I remember how much I used to ship Eddie/Iris, lol. After Barry and Iris being married for so many years now, it seems strange to see her not with Barry but man, in s1 I was ALL about Eddie/Iris for me. 😉 Eddie is just this sweetheart, IMO. I always take exception when Eobard just verbally tries to crush him by telling him he’s useless, a worthless part of the Thawne line, etc. I have no idea why Eo thought he needed to just shatter his self-esteem like that! *swats Eo with a rolled up newspaper* ⚡ And then Eddie proved him wrong, he was selfless and brave enough to be willing to sacrifice his life just to stop him. Poor, sweet little bean. You were always worthy, bb. ♥
7. Jesse Wells
Tumblr media
Jesse got a little bit of the same trope treatment that Nora did, IMO: “I know better than all of you despite the fact I have no experience and you do.” Luckily, though, she didn’t get as stuck in that as long as Nora did. Now, losing Harry was bad enough but losing Jesse in just some off-screen, “Oops, guess she was killed when Earth 2 was destroyed! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  ” thing made me furious! We NEED to see that Jesse is okay somewhere out there. My little bean deserves better than some off-handed write-out. *nodnods* ♥
6. Sherloque Wells
Tumblr media
I always found it so interesting that, where on the surface, Sherloque seems like he would be the Wells most guided by intelligence, deduction and reasoning, that Eobard said his greatest weakness would be love. That’s always been a character trope I love. Also, in a totally shallow note... Sherloque with the stubble and the longer hair is one of my faaaaaaaaaaavorite TomCav looks. *puts on my “I am looking respectfully” eyes 👀* Handsome bean! 😉
5. Nash Wells
Tumblr media
Yes, I use this GIF for Nash A LOT. I MAKE NO EXCUSES FOR IT. Now, Nash is a bit of a raw subject here in s7. I had big plans for him in my head! I thought he and Frost could possibly be the first canon Snowells couple but, yet again, the Powers That Be just won’t Go There. 😐 Ending his story with the  “Redemption only by death” trope was disappointing, to say the least. We could’ve seen that he had changed and was willing to sacrifice for his friends without it requiring him to be destroyed. But this list is all about love, so I’d better not get going to much on this point or I’ll have to get out my soap box and jump on it. *waves my I ♥ Nash flag* 😉 My handsome bean deserved better! ♥♥♥
4. HR Wells
Tumblr media
I can’t look at HR without feeling the need to just hide him away from the Big Bad Writers, lol! I mean, they sacrificed him TWICE. This precious little bean... TWICE! If they want to come at him a third time, well, then they’re going to have to duck THESE HANDS RIGHT HERE. 🥊🥊 (I hope those boxing gloves belong to somebody who can use them, lol! 😉) ♥♥♥
3. Harry Wells
Tumblr media
*wistful sigh* There’s a reason why Harry has his own tag on my blog: Harry my luff I think that on a superficial level, he reminds me the most of Eobard without all of the, you know, murder. Some of that seems to have been by design, we were supposed to think Eobard was back when we first saw him, right? And his gruffness seemed to reinforce that. But Harry does have a heart, though for a long while we only saw it in how much he loves Jesse, and “grumpy but with a heart” is yet ANOTHER of my fav tropes. Harry deserves better than what he got. I’m glad we got to see him via Nash for a while but Harry NEEDS to have his life back, somewhere safe with Jesse. And Caitlin. But that’s just my Snowharry shipper side talking. 😍 Harry is my luff and my tol grumpy bean. ♥♥♥
2. Caitlin Snow/Frost
Tumblr media
Mah girls! Yes, I combined them both to conserve a spot on this list. 😜 Anyway, I’ve adored Caitlin since the start and once we knew we were getting a Killer Frost, I was a little concerned that we’d “lose” Caitlin. Granted, we’ve seen the show try out lots of different variations, sometimes Cait WAS Killer Frost, then they were separate but in one body, there was the villainous KF from Earth-2, I mean, we’ve been everywhere, lol! But through it all, I’ve loved every one of them, from villain to hero to separate to combined to now in 2 bodies. They’re both mah girls and I will love and protect my two precious little beans with all of the love in my little fangirl heart! ♥♥♥
HONORABLE MENTION
Harrison Wells, the original aka Timeless Wells
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m still slightly concerned that you might be evil, bb, but even if you are, I will still love and support you. You are my little bean and, in that last GIF, you kinda literally are my little green bean. 😜 ♥♥♥
1. Eobard Thawne
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND WE ALL KNEW WHO WAS GETTING THE NUMBER ONE SPOT. IT WASN’T EVEN IN QUESTION FOR A MINUTE, WAS IT? 😉 I love mah Murder Boi(s). They are bad, they do the murder, and yet... They have my heart.
Tumblr media
And I have their ring!!! ⚡😜⚡
Ahem, but as I was saying! I would go down swinging to defend mah Murder Boi(s), though they would hardly need me to defend them. They’d, in fact, probably think soft, smol Ais trying to throw hands would be kinda funny. But hey, I’d try. 😉 I will defend you, my little murderous beans! ⚡💗⚡

. . .
“I don’t understand. Explain again to me what the difference between this day and every other day in America?”
You look up from where you bounced Dante on your lap, eyes watching as Sherloque threw his hands in the air and faced Cisco with confusion,
“It’s a holiday when we all get together and celebrate and eat a ton of food,” Cisco tries to explain, “Like, a gross amount,”
“Hey guys!” Caitlin greets, and you smile, lifting Dante’s hand to wave so he giggled, sticking his fist into his mouth, “What’s going on?”
“This man is trying- and failing- to explain the meaning of this holiday,” Sherloque scoffs, “Please, explain,”
“It’s very simple, Sherloque,” You sigh, standing up to curl an arm under Dante and prop him on your upper hip, “We all get together to spend the day with our loved ones and family,”
“Simple to you,” Sherloque points, “I have no family,”
“Didnt you have seven marriages?” Cisco questions,
“Did,” Sherloque states, “Five wives, seven marriages- no family. This holiday is a cruel holiday,”
You frown as Sherloque moves to walk out of the cortex, Dante babbling and reaching out, Cisco allowing Dante to grab a small fistful of his hair,
You look up when the alarm begins to blare, Dante flinching against the loud noise and hiccuping so you tucking him under your chin, moving to the control panel beside Caitlin to see where the pin pointed location, “What’s going on?”
“I’m seeing a large electrical surge at the downtown power station,”
“Barry, Nora,” Iris calls to the mics, “You’re up,”
You bite your lip and look down, pressing a kiss to the side of Dante’s head as you step back,
“Y/N,” Cisco squints his eyes after Barry and Nora had completed the task- resulting in Barry dying and Nora having to revive him- your eyes flicking up from where you stared at the floor, “You alright?”
You lick your lips and turn in your chair to rock Dante to sleep, shaking your head, slightly, “I don’t think my powers are going to come back,”
Caitlin furrows her brows, stepping up next to Cisco, “You haven’t allowed your body to fully heal from child birth, Y/N,”
“It’s been two weeks,” You exhale, and shrug enough to not disturb Dante, “Nora said my powers came back right after I gave birth,” A pause, “I don’t think the labor itself is what caused it- I just have this feeling that, my speed is completely gone,”
“Would you, like for me to run tests?” Caitlin asks, and you look down, Cisco extending his hands so you could stand up, passing Dante to him silently,
. . .
“I don’t see any dark matter traces in your cells,” Caitlin leans against her desk with a frown, glancing over to where you sat on the bed and sucked in a deep breath, “Nora was wrong. I don’t think your powers will come back,”
“It’s the time change,” Barry sighs, looking over to future Dante, “For all we know, you in the later future could end up not having speed,”
“Not necessarily,” Caitlin corrects, “Those powers came from Y/Ns bloodstream to Dante’s, so, yes Y/N lost hers completely, but Dante still inherited them,”
“So it’s settled,” You mumble, Cisco frowning when you push off the bed and clap your hands, quietly, “I’m powerless. For good,”
“I’m sorry, Y/N,” Caitlin frowns, too, and you press your lips together,
“So many things are changing,” Nora exhales, arms crossed, “Because of us,”
“No, don’t blame yourself,” Barry pleas,
“How can we not?” Dante asks, brows pinched, “Because we arrived- Cicada came early, mom went into labor early because Cicada attacked, mom lost her powers because she went into labor, it’s a domino effect!”
“And dad disappears in Crisis earlier than originated,” Nora continues, Barrys face falling as he looks to you, where your brows furrowed in firm confusion,
“You what?”
“Oh, schrap!” Nora winces, “Sorry! I-I’m gonna go,”
“No, Barry,” You hold up a hand, “What is she talking about,”
Cisco sighs, eyes shutting as his hand runs up baby Dante’s back, “When Barry disappears in Crisis, he never comes back even twenty five years later,”
“You knew?” You point, shaking your head, “This is too much. Give me my son, I’m going home,” You pull Dante away from Cisco so the infant whined, Cisco reaching out to touch your arm,
“Let me take you,”
“I’m a big girl. I can handle myself,” You shoot, Cisco releasing your arm to let you step back, barely catching the gleam in your eyes before he is forced to watch you walk out of the lab.
“Give her time,” Barry murmurs, Cisco running a hand over his face, “It’s a lot,”
. . .
“Hey,”
You look up from the crib and glance over your shoulder, Cisco’s eyes on the sleeping infant as he leans against the door, “Can we talk?”
You slowly pull your hand away from where Dante had a grip, leaning back to turn and leave the nursery, “There’s nothing to talk about,”
“I didn’t tell you for a reason,” Cisco explains, calmly, your eyebrows raising,
“To “protect me”?” You question, “I appreciate that, but I’m apart of the team too, whether I’m at home with a kid or not. I deserve to know shit like that,”
You cross your arms, sucking in a deep breath, “How long have you all known?”
Cisco frowns, watching your eyes flick to the floor, “Right before you had Dante,”
“So two whole weeks,” You state, “Cisco, why the hell didn’t you tell me? Everyone else on the team knew!”
“You were still pregnant with Dante,” Cisco reminds, “Barry feared the stress would cause you to go into labor early. He just wanted what was best for you,”
“Barry may know what is best for me, but you know what is right,” You correct, eyes back on Cisco, “Am I wrong?”
A moments pause, “No,”
“I deserve to know these kind of things, Cisco,” You look up as Cisco moves up to you, his hands at your arms before they lower to your waist, “I’m still apart of the team, and Barry’s my brother,”
“I know,” Cisco murmurs, eyes flicking between yours, “I’m sorry,”
Cisco watches as you shake your head, your hands sliding up to wipe your cheeks under your eyes, “When my father was killed, I didn’t think Barry nor I could handle it,” You exhale, sniffling against your hands, “Our moms death didn’t effect us that much because we were young, we didn’t understand it,”
You lick your lips, eyes burning from tears, “But I can’t lose Barry. He’s the only one I have left of my family, sure I have Joe, and Iris and Wally, but-,” You raise your head, hiccuping as Cisco moves forward, arm sliding around your shoulder to pull you against him,
“C’mere,” Cisco murmurs, his free hand pressing to the back of your head. Your arms tighten at his torso, sniffling against the fabric of his button up, “We’re not going to let it happen. We changed the future before, we can do it again,”
You nod, blinking in an attempt to rid your tears, “You know my life was somewhat normal before I had my speed,” A slight laugh escapes your lips, making Cisco smile, “But now that I don’t have them anymore, I’ve realized my life will never go back normal,”
“Honey, your life will never be normal being married to me,” Cisco leans back, and you snort, shoving a hand to his chest so he stumbled back,
“I’m serious!” He teases, hands at your arms so he didn’t fall. You press a finger to your lips, shushing the man,
“Don’t forget your speedster son is still asleep,” You order, Cisco’s eyebrows raising in rememberance, “Now,” You murmur, “I have some pumpkin pie I have to make for tomorrow,”
. . .
“So it wasn’t as much the taste as it was the crunch,”
“Wait,” Caitlin puts down the bowl she had, eyeing Iris on the couch, “Are you actually saying—,”
“Yes, that was the year I found out why Grandma Esthers yams tasted so good,” Iris nods, glass in one hand, “Because she never cleaned her favorite skillet,”
“That’s,” Nora pauses, “Disgusting,”
The group laughs, Barry looking up and over to Cisco, “Hey, where’s Y/N and the baby?”
“Mm,” Cisco swallows his sip of wine, glancing down at his watch, “She forgot the whipped cream for the pie. But she should be here in-,”
“Your favorite Allen is here!” Your call causes Cisco to nod, hand holding the glass pointing towards Barry’s front door,
“Now,”
You turn the corner with a wide grin, Cisco moving around the couch to take the pie and bag of whipped cream, while you shift Dante’s babbling figure in your arm, older Dante shutting the door behind you,
“Alright, who’s ready to cut the turkey?” Iris asks, Barry beckoning you to pass him his nephew, Cisco clapping his hands together as he moves next to you, leading you to the table with a peck to your cheek,

i'm gonna stir the post and ask for your unpopular flash opinions lmao
LMAO, alright, let’s do this.
I dislike/am indifferent to season 1B for the most part. A few genuinely excellent episodes (some of the best of the show) are contained in that run, but overall it has one too many episodes and story-telling choices which infuriate me, because of how disrespectful they are towards Iris. This is also an opinion I’ve developed over time.
The season 1 finale is highly overrated. A solid finale with some great acting moments, for sure, but not the masterpiece in story-telling that some folks make it out to be.
I like Allegra, which apparently is somewhat of an unpopular opinion. I don’t think she’s been written all that well or anything, but I feel like people tend to be harder on her, and I get this in part, because in general it’s frustrating that she was shoved onto the Team and that she’s frequently made to go to bat for Frost, when she should’ve been introduced only as a cub reporter at the Citizen and her relationship with Iris fleshed out first. But I like Allegra as a character, especially for what she brings to the development of Iris’s journalism arc and to the Citizen.
The show is better off without the Wellses. Part of what I’ve enjoyed about season 7A is the lack of a random Wells bogging down the overall narrative. I genuinely do like Tom, and he’s great as EoWells and Harry, but the last few seasons, the Wells character tends to detract too much from the overall story-line and their plots tend to be quite poorly written (and honestly, lately, very uncomfortable... see Sherloque’s love story or the whole weird Nash and Allegra father/daughter thing).
I really like Chester.
Eva could have been a truly terrifying villain and one of the most effective Big Bads on the show if TPTB wasn’t so keen on redeeming her. Her story became so convoluted, with her being a Mirror clone, and her ending was incredibly lackluster. But she committed such horrific crimes against so many people, stripping them of their agency, denying them the ability to consent, appropriating their likeness... she was straight up imprisoning and trafficking people, and if the show was bold enough to delve into the repercussions of the severity of the crimes that she committed, I really think she would have been such a terrifying Big Bad.
I hate the Team construct, and I do still wish this was a Flash Family show, lol.
I really love the development of Iris’s journalism arc over the seasons.  I’m not sure if this is necessarily unpopular, but I want to talk about this, because it’s so important to me. For the record, Iris absolutely deserves more, and this show shortchanged her on so many things, including her journalism, but her journalism arc is a long-term arc on this show that truly feels earned. We see Iris start her blog about the Flash and the various other meta sightings in Central City, which becomes a very important database for so many people. She then gets a job at CCPN, but has to earn the respect of her assigned mentor, Mason Bridge (I’m still bitter that they killed Mason off so abruptly, like we deserved to see this mentor/mentee dynamic). Iris continues working at CCPN, chasing stories and carving her own path as a hero. Because of her PTSD after Savitar attempted to murder her, Iris leads Team Flash, with imbues her with the confidence and leadership skills that she’ll take with her to the Citizen. Her experience as the Flash reminds her of her passion for journalism, and she returns to her blog, choosing to run articles about what the DeVoes are doing and arming the citizens of Central City with information, which saves them. In turn, they provide information in the comments section of her blog on sightings of the DeVoes. Iris continues to report, and she then slowly launches the Citizen. She hires Kamilla as a photojournalist and then Allegra as an intern reporter (who is later promoted to full-time reporter), and we now see Team Citizen out in the field. This is such a well-developed story-line, and while I always want to see so, so, so much more of her journalism, I just find this story-line to be really earned and powerful.
I do really like Barry’s current suit, and I appreciate how well-designed it is and how comic-accurate it is, but the season 4 suit will always be my fave.
I’m very ambivalent towards Nora West-Allen. Like I oscillate between being simply frustrated with her and disliking her altogether. So, I can’t wait for JPK to get to play the character that she has always deserved to play.
I don’t like 4x07. At all.
I hate pretty much all of season 5 outside of 5x01-5x05 (I have issues with 5x04, though, in hindsight, because of how traumatizing it is towards Iris), 5x12, 5x13, and 5x22 (the second half of 5x22 only, though).
Outside of the Ralph stuff and how overbearing his nonsensical story-line was on season 4, I think season 4 is a really good season, tbh.
Season 4 Westallen > Season 3 Westallen.
I really love the portrayal of Westallen in this current season thus far: like the supportiveness, the intuition, and the strength and maturity of their marriage... it’s all so wonderful to watch. They share such a beautiful bond, and I like seeing how their marriage has evolved and strengthened over the years. The depth of their love and connection escape definition, and I think season 7 so far is doing a good job in showing us that.

Harry Wells x Reader Crisis of Infinite Wells (Part 3 of 5)
Tumblr media
**A/N: The picture/edit/gif does not belong to me. It belongs to @countlesswells
Part 1    Part 2    Part 4    Part 5
*Yes, I know this is super late, but I had so many exams and deadlines shifted due to the transition online. Didn’t help that finals were around the corner either. But I’m back, and hopefully I can make things right with my fics, especially with the fact that we’re not going to get the Alls Wells That Ends Wells episode this season thanks to Ms. Rona (Please don’t come after me T.T). Anywho, this ended up being super, SUPER, long and I have no regrets. I feel that we need this series more than ever. If you already haven’t make sure to check out Part 1 and 2. Don’t forget to reblog and leave a comment, I read them all!
Word Count: 6601
You took in a deep breath, simultaneously opening your eyes to find yourself being hovered over by Caitlin and Cisco
“There’s our sleeping beauty,” Cisco jokes, grinning at you before running back over to the monitors to get a screwdriver.
“Mm, it’s too bright here.” You winced and blinked a few times as your brain had finally registered the bright lights of the Speed Lab. Rubbing your face a few times, you moved slowly to sit up. Stretching your aching body, you cracked a few bones and let out a little noise in contentment. Eyes looking around for a bit, you saw that the Mindscape Machine was still out, and that Cisco had hooked you and Nash onto it. Nash was still knocked out on another bed though because of the sedation. He looked peacefully asleep, as if the weight of his expeditions and the murmurings at the back of his head were gone. He should be coming back soon, I hope.
Cisco noticed where your gaze had gone before grabbing your attention, “Cecile had to go back home to feed a fussy little baby Jenna and Joe, so we ended up resorting to the Mindscape Machine. Went smooth sailing, thanks to our very own resident genius engineer, no thanks needed. All in a good day’s work.”
“I figured when you chimed in saying that we needed to go to the Nexus of Nash’s mind to get out.” You pointed out.
“Nash should be waking up in an hour or so, he’ll be fine I promise. How are you feeling?” Caitlin asked softly as she checked you over for any sign of abnormalities before removing the wires from your head.
“Cold,” goosebumps were already breaking out through your body as a shiver goes down your spine. “Really cold, Caity. Can’t you STAR Labs techies afford heat or something?” You joked, watching a look of fake hurt cross Ciscito’s face, a hand automatically over his heart.
“Dude, it’s like beautiful outside and what am I doing? I was stuck in here babysitting Princess Aurora and Pebble Brain over there until you guys came back to reality. You’re welcome for that, by the way,” Cisco made a face, pointing towards the direction of Nash’s unconscious body with a screw driver before walking back to where you sat, “while fixing these bad boys up,” the mechanical genius gestures dramatically to the tech in the room. “Meanwhile, Barry and Not-Mirror-Iris are on a picnic date in Central City Park enjoying the sunny weather. One which I wanted to do with Not-Mirror-Kamilla first.”
You and Caitlin just giggled at Cisco’s dramatics. Caitlin gave you the ‘all clear’ that your neural functions were still working and that you should be coordinated within your own body.
“So, Persephone,” You rolled your eyes at the nickname and shook your head at the two. Cisco had basically dubbed you and Harry that even before you had gotten together. In secret of course, or else Harry would start throwing things at him for dropping obvious hints of his feelings towards you. It’s at least so much better than Romeo and Juliet because in all honesty, they had a tragic love story and that is something that my love life does not need. More tragedy, internal pain, and suffering. “Did you see your Hades again?”
“I did, yeah.” A soft smile crossed your lips as your mind replays the interaction, your cheeks dusting the lightest color of pink. Your gaze dropped down a bit as Cisco and Caitlin started going “Ooooooo” as if high school gossip girls wanting you to spill the beans while giving you that one look you know all too well. You didn’t have the heart to tell them to stop.
“How is he?” Caitlin asked while Cisco nodded, wanting to know if his friend’s okay.
“He’s good,” you responded with a smitten grin, and then made a little sheepish face. “They’re all good.”
“They?-” Caitlin frowned as she slowly asked with a raised eyebrow.
“-Excuse me? They?” Cisco had a look mixed with dumbfoundedness and disbelief. His mouth slightly open as you saw his mind comprehending that simple sentence. You just nodded with a slightly sheepish grimaced expression. “You-”
“-had to meet the entire Council of Wells and propose to them the Multi-Dimensional idea that could possibly save them all because my boyfriend and a select few of his pals convinced me to since apparently the Wells men tend to have lots of arguments and so they also tend to never get things done sometimes. Yeah. That happened.” You quickly rambling how you met the infinite Council of Wells and then slowed down at the latter sentence with a nod. Cisco and Caitlin were stunned in place as they had tried to keep up with every single word that you said. Before they could even say anything, you spoke up once again as you got off the bed to stand on wobbly legs. “Did I mention that Harry, Sherloque, and Wolfgang are the triumvirate lead of the Council and that Sonny’s their hype man, apparently? I did not ever see that happening.” You ran a hand through your hair, “I have seen things. Standing in a huge lecture-ish mental room in Nash’s mind filled with doppelgangers of Harrison Wells is something I just cannot unsee.”
“No, you can’t.” Cisco added in agreement, his arms crossed. “You met all of them?”
“I mean, sorta. I mainly just stood at the front where the Wells triumvirate take their spots to start their meetings. Ok, so like you know the Galactic Senate from Star Wars where Palpatine and Padme were in?”
“Hell yeah, I do. What do you take me for an uncultured swine?”
“So, like, the layout of the room was sorta styled like that.” Cisco looked slightly mind blown because Star Wars obviously. You located your leather jacket and put it on to have some layer against the cool wind of the AC. “How’s everything coming with the modifications?”
Cisco and Caitlin look at each other before Frost took over for a bit, “I think this is the part where we tell you that they’ve sorta hit a roadblock.”
“Perfect,” you deadpanned, with a slight pain reverberating at the back of your head. I need some coffee, you thought before collecting your things and giving Nash one last glance.
***
I jinxed myself when I told Cisco that I could handle this. Handle them and their stupidity. A frown plastered itself onto Nash’s face, his head throbbing at the legit argument going on at the back of his head. What about? Who the hell knows or cares? Rubbing his face then his temples when the headache started to radiate to the front, the dark-haired explorer let out another annoyed groan as a doppelganger started yelling to contribute to the argument. I have never been more annoyed at the sound of my voice. Nash’s been trying to mentally block them so he himself can think things out, but collectively it hasn’t been succeeding. His heavy footsteps carried him to the Med Bay, thankful that no one was here at this ungodly hour to see him like this. I need an icepack and multiple pills of aspirin. Nash snorted when a mental image of you scolding him for the number of pills he might take to ease the pain was conjured in his mind. You entertained him, is what he told himself, just like the rest of them.
As he entered the Med Bay, the door creaked and the dim lights from the labs allowed him to see a faint silhouette on the bed. Nash raised an eyebrow as he crept slowly towards the bed, gauntlet at the ready.
“Well, speak of the devil,” he whispered to no one in a low voice, forgetting about the throbbing and disgruntled voices in his head. Nash disengaged his gauntlet. On the bed, you were curled up with a thin blanket, clearly still cold, but sound asleep at this hour. Curled up like a kitten and cuddled up to a pillow. Nash’s blue eyes wandered to what’s beside you, seeing multiple papers messily put together and various binders littering the bed. Due to the dimness, he couldn’t really make out any of the writings on the paper at this angle, but the Wells doppelganger can only assume that they’re medical files for Barry and the others.
Nash’s blue  gaze snapped back to you when you emitted a small noise as you shuddered. He didn’t know why, but he made a beeline for the cabinets and closets, finding another thin blanket hidden in them. At least two are better than one. He pulled the thin cloth over you, ensuring that you would be a little warmer than before. Nash’s gaze softened slightly at your tired expression that you carried even while asleep. Shutting his eyes for a bit only to reopen them, Nash curled his hand into a fist then uncurled it. He let out an inaudible sigh, his right hand reaching out to gingerly tuck a strand of hair behind your ear-
“-Don’t you dare touch her.”
Nash felt as if he was shocked on the spot, retracting his hand rapidly as he turned around, coming face to face with the source of the voice. Harry stood with his hands in his pants pockets, a glare present on his face as he watched his doppelganger with angry eyes. Clearly unamused that Nash was getting close to you. Harry’s words, precise and cold, had cut through the air like a sharpened knife, but you couldn’t hear him.
Nash swallowed, sending Harry a smile of mockery. “Don’t worry, I’m not trying to steal her away from you. Unless-” Nash spoke with a raspy voice.
“-You can’t even if you tried,” Harry retorted without hesitation. Nash rolled his eyes taking a few steps closer to his doppelganger. Both men exuded confidence and intimidation towards one another. “Watch yourself, Nash. I have her heart, just as she has mine.”
“You can keep the little lady, for all I care. She’s just good company, you would know that all too well, wouldn’t you Harry? And what do you know, she still owes me a favor. A favor in exchange for my help. I could have easily said no and kept the both of you separated because why would I care if her little heart remains broken and she loses sleep every night over it?” Nash bit down on the inside of his cheek, ignoring that mental image.
Harry glowered at Nash’s cocky words. “When I get back, I’m going to make you regret those words.”
“Look, I’m not interested in her, Harry. Get over yourself and keep her, she’s not that special anyway.” The tension and malice were intoxicating, hanging heavy in the room.
“Are you kidding me? I’m literally in your mi-”
“-Zhe petit fluer ‘as been overworking ‘erself again.” Nash jumped slightly at the new voice, letting out a frustrated breath before turning his gaze towards the French-accented voice. “And you two are ‘ere arguing over ‘er like ‘igh school boys.” Sherloque stood on the other side of the bed as he examined the papers from his height. He was clearly annoyed at both Nash and Harry, narrowing his eyes with an icy look on his face. “Merde, if you want to ‘ash it out, at least ‘ave zhe decency to do it outside,” Sherloque pointedly spoke, crossing his arms.
Harry and Nash briefly looked at each other before moving their gazes back to Sherloque only to find an empty space beside you. Sherloque had retreated back into Nash’s mind in order to sort things out with Wolfgang and the others. J'ai parlé de mes deux cents à ces deux-là. Sherloque took off his fedora and weaved a hand through his dark locks, glancing at the Nexus of Nash’s mind. “Et ce n'est pas bon de se mentir à toi-même, Nash,” the Frenchmen whispered with a knowing glint in his eyes, a stoic smile on his face.
You scrunched your nose and shuffled into a different position on the bed, almost knocking off a binder stack. Harry ignored Nash’s existence, taking a seat on the chair beside your sleeping form and noticing something that anyone else would have missed if they had not been together with you. Nash watched his Earth-2 doppelganger, seeing a certain look cross through Harry’s eyes. Harry slowly reached a hand out only to drop it knowing that he wouldn’t be able to touch you in this state. His hand formed into a tight fist as he dropped it by his side. Harry heavily sighed, shutting his eyes and running a hand through his hair. Nash raked his teeth over his bottom lip, feeling a tiny shred of guilt at Harry’s inability to be here with you. Reopening his azure irises, Harry’s heart stung, and it reverberated throughout his entire being. Oh, how he yearned to hold you again. To be able to wrap his arms around you and pull you close for warmth.
“She’s still cold,” Harry commented his observation, a slightly sullen expression creeping on his face. He readjusted his glasses. Nash raised an eyebrow at Harry’s words. “Just remember what I said. She’s not a prize. After everything you’ve done, she’d never willingly choose you in any lifetime.”
Nash blinked and Harry was gone, the explorer immediately regained composure of himself and his surroundings. Nash felt the tension leave his body, stretching a bit to relieve his muscles. I swear if I roll my eyes hard enough, they’ll fall out of their sockets. With a sigh, Nash gave you one last look before reluctantly shedding off his jacket and pulling it over you. The dark-haired man left the room without sparing you another glance.
What is even considered a prize anymore?
***
It’s been a couple weeks since you had entered Nash’s mind and spoken to the Wells men. Since then they had collectively collaborated with Barry, Cisco, and Chester via Nash to make necessary modifications and electro-/neuro-magnetic adjustments. “I present to you attempt #29,” Cisco announces, sliding out from behind the machinery, with a tool in hand, “which coincidently is the same number of one of my favorite Pokémon from the original 151 of the benevolent Kanto region.”
“Female Nidoran?” You and Barry both questioned the looked at each other. Nidoran is a pretty decent Pokémon, not gonna lie. Poison capabilities that are deadly with a combination of ground-type moves can really have opponents running for the hills without the proper Pokémon to counter its abilities and possible move-sets.
“What? She’s literally a freaking queen in battle and her move-set has been improving tremendously with every generation.”
“To be honest, Cisco, you always struck me for a Poliwag kind of guy when I first met you,” you quipped up. “But I got to say (Insert Favorite Pokémon Type)-types are more my style.
“Nerds,” Nash snickered to himself lowly. You whipped your head back to him, not clearly hearing his exact murmured words, but hearing his voice. The others didn’t hear anything. Nash dropped his gaze away avoiding your look, but not before narrowing his eyes at you. You just continued on with a questioning look, this time your thoughts circulating on if you’d done anything to offend this Wells doppelganger.
He’s been avoiding you since you had entered his mind, which at first you respected because having someone else enter your mind and intrude is weird enough, so you gave him his space. But then it started to turn into him throwing annoyed looks at you when you spoke, gradually and fully ignoring your existence in the Labs as the days went by. Even to the point of not seeking you for medical attention like he normally did when he injured himself in some way. Instead, Nash went to see Caitlin.
At first you thought nothing of it, Nash probably had his reasons for not wanting to speak to you and you had done nothing wrong in reality that you could recall. But then your anxiety continued to climb as one day passed after another. I’m not a bad physician, am I? I mean, I hope I not. I’ve been doing my best to suture and isolate every variable in order to make correct diagnostics. Nash even ignored you when you asked him if he wanted any coffee when you went on coffee runs. Was it the coffee pun I made? Everyone laughed at it.
“How are the modifications to the dimensional extrapolator coming along?” You asked turning your gaze back to the boys. You sort of regretted asking because you know that they’re going to start talking all quantum physics and math at you.
“Well, after analyzing the multiverse extrapolator and running diagnostics it’s… actually not fit to be modified,” Chester explained, holding up the piece of tech.
“Is that the bad news?” You raised an eyebrow at them, glancing back at Nash for any input, but were greeted with silence.
“I mean, this little baby over here may not be as functional as before, but it does still hold a variety of multiversal coordinates. In which we could cross reference those numbers with any pocket dimension coordinates that we happen to stumble across. Which I’ve got to say is so friggen cool! My world just keeps exploding, first there were multiple universes and doppelgangers, then black holes- but I created that on accident- my bad, by the way-” Chester continued in a quick ramble with a huge and excited grin on his face. If you didn’t know better, he seemed as eccentric as the energizer bunny, you just nodded along politely. “-And now we’ve got pocket dimensions! We really are breaking all the rules of physics-”
“-Chester, grab me the-”
Barry leaned in close, cutting off your focus from Chester’s hyper rant and Cisco’s shout, “We basically need to develop a new extrapolator.”
“That makes much more sense, but I was following Chester’s rant, thank-you-very-much. Sort of. ” you nodded sheepishly at your friend before sending him a teasing smile. Barry held his hands up in defeat. Barry let out a laugh. “How’s Iris?”
The speedster nodded, directing his gaze to the side so you two can side bar. “She’s doing ok, keeping an eye on Eva while running the Citizen. The headaches have receded, but she’s a bit disoriented at times. I’ve had Cisco and Chester install different meta security measures in case Black Hole decides to make a guest appearance.”
“But is she ok? Mentally?”
“She’s… jumpy at times. Iris told me she trusted Eva when she entered Joseph’s hidden lab. That Eva was the reason that she doubted herself in seeing the truth and her instinct that Iris’s always trusted. She told Kamilla the same thing. We’re trying to work through it.”
You patted Barry’s back, “Just let me know if I can do anything to help. If it means anything, Harry taught me how to use his pulse rifle for a worst-case scenario.” You grinned up at him, secretly always wanted to have a reason to put your sessions with Harry to the test.
Barry chuckled and shook his head, knowing that Harry would kill him if he had allowed you to be put in harm’s way. “I think we’ll be good, but thanks for the tip.” You pouted at your best friend before a small laugh leaves your lips.
Nash took a glimpse of you over his shoulder as you giggled at your best friend. He thanked the stars that he was able to reuse the tech from an older MAD produced by Harry and synthesized it to become a mental block between him and the other Wells so that they wouldn’t interfere with his thoughts or pop up randomly. Nash called it Psyche Block. All he had to was to make sure it was on whenever he was in the labs. She hasn’t been sleeping well. He could oddly tell with one look. That small moment of weakness allowed the sharpened tool in his hand to slip his grip and pierce the skin through his entire palm. The dark-haired Wells let out a sudden gasp, blood oozed out profusely. A few droplets had fallen onto the hard drive of the Neural Splicer, short-circuiting it. Your ears caught the noise somehow, frowning your eyes caught Nash leaving with quick steps.
“I-I gotta go…” you whipped your head back to Barry, who had watched the glances that you had thrown at the Wells doppelganger since you entered the room. You pointed to the Speed Lab’s exit, “Do this… this thing.” Barry nodded with a teasing grin at your awkward attempt to excuse yourself, gesturing towards to door.
You were already leaving as you spoke to the speedster. Entering the corridor with swift feet you slightly managed to catch up to Nash. Damn him and his long legs.
“Nash!”
Nash’s blood ran cold at the sound of your voice. He willed himself to not look back, instead to carry on his way to the Med Bay. You saw that he clearly ignored you, which caused an ache to echo throughout your body. With every fiber of your being, you sprinted forward as fast as you could to come to a stop right in front of him causing the geological myth-buster to stop as well, midway to the medical room with an irritated façade on his features. Nash remained silent as you caught your breath, he held a cautious hand out to put up distance between you both, to not have you come any closer.
You opened your mouth to question him instantly at his gesture, but your eyes quickly caught sight of his bloodied hand. Sharp instincts assessing that the wound had been the cause of his escape from the Speed Lab. “You’re hurt.” You ignored his eye roll, taking a step forward and snatching his hand gingerly to examine it. He hadn’t realized that he stopped you with his bloodied hand. The droplets of red had splattered onto the concrete floor, creating a puddled mess of crimson. “Nash this needs stitches. Immediately.” Looking up at him, Nash exhaled roughly side-glancing away in frustration before meeting you with cold eyes. But you did not yield under the coldness. “I can suture this. All we nee-”
“-I don’t need your help,” was his rapid and frosty response. He blinked at you, holding his ground.
“Then who’s help are you going to need, huh!? Caitlin? Last time I checked she was at her mother’s facility because of the bullet-light-energy shot that Black Hole gave her,” You frowned deeply at him with fiery eyes, you had never combusted like this in a really long time. “Can you suture this by yourself?” You asked rhetorically. “This cut is too deep to just put a band aid on it and call it a day.” Nash opened his mouth to retaliate, but you cut him off in a softer voice. “I know that you hate me,” Nash narrowed his eyes at those words, “but let me help you.”
Nash pursed his lips, looking into your pleading eyes and inwardly cursed himself. With a sigh, the older man followed you to the Med Bay, where you proceeded to stitch him up and fully sterilize the wound from the blood and bacteria/bacteriophages that could enter the cut.
“You’re only looking after me because of Harry.” You heart stopped at the sudden words, slicing the air of the room. “What? Nash, that’s not true.”
Nash let out a mirthless laugh. “Isn’t it?”
“It’s not, I can’t believe you would even think that.” You berated him with a serious look, but he just waved you off. You pursed your lips at the silence. “Why do you hate me?” You looked up as you finished your work, eyes meeting his light blue colored ones that you had stared into before. Nash licked his lips, eyes darting to anything else, avoiding the kicked puppy look on your face.
“I don’t hate you.”
“Was it the coffee pun?”
“No”
“The Pokémon nerd talk?”
“Unfortunately, no”
“Then, what is it?”
“It’s- I…” He started, taking a breath in. “Quae dicunt, facite vobis cor eius. Quod pertinet ad eum. Nusquam potuerunt alium, qui non pertinent ad quis enim concupíscit.” The dark-haired man raked an uninjured hand through his hair as he fisted his wounded one, feeling its stitching.
“What?” You raised an eyebrow in confusion. Nash stubbornly shook his head, not wanting to repeat his words.
“Nash, I don’t understand what foreign, dead language you just spoke, but you’re my friend. I’m always going to care for my friends, even and especially when I’m involved with Harry. They’ll always be in my heart, no matter what. And that includes you too, you stubborn idiot.” You grinned at him with sincere intention, placing a hand gently on his clenched fist. A reluctant smile pulled at the corners of his mouth. “Now, you need to let that heal. So, no tech tinkering or spontaneous adventures in the middle of the day until the stitches come off, doctor’s orders.” You winked, smiling widely at him. You moved to leave the room, throwing one last look back at him.
Don’t- Don’t fucking do that, Nash bittersweetly thought to himself as he rubbed his face when you left the room. Don’t give me that… that smile, saying things like that. He sighed for the nth time that day, unfurling his hand to observe your handiwork.
***
You entered Nash’s mindscape once more, searching for Harry to spend some time with him. Nash had opted to stay behind until you were ready to leave his mind, particularly moody about not wanting to see his doppelgangers because he sees enough of them. He had upgraded the MAD 2.0 so that Cecile’s presence and powers wouldn’t be required for today. Nash, the Wells, and the Team Flash boys have been working closely the past couple of days to ensure that the Psyche Segregator (that’s the current name for all the machines interwoven together) would be fully functional. The extrapolator was essentially finished, it just needed the proper orientation for dimensional coordinates that the Wells doppelgangers would need to report.
You walked down the rocky caves of Nash’s mind before hitting a modern looking corridor that similarly belonged to a level in STAR Labs. With a questioning look, your feet continued on as you decided the top floor would be the place that Harry should reside in with Sherloque and Wolfgang. Entering the vacant elevator and ascended each level, you soon found yourself in front of what looks to be Harry’s office from Earth-2.I guess you can change the layout of things if you’re the Mindscape’s master. You pushed the door open, the lights automatically illuminating the room before scanning the area to find it vacant. Your shoulders sagged a bit. Where is he? I thought Nash told Harry that I was coming. Glancing around a bit, you took a seat at the main desk, finding Harry’s glasses. You made the mistake of putting them on as Harry entered the room with a coffee mug in hand. Harry froze at the door as your gaze instantly locked onto his, glasses still on his face. You blinked at one another. It didn’t take long from a wicked grin to cross his handsomely rugged features at the sight of you.
“Don’t you know you shouldn’t take what’s not yours?” Harry shut the door and came around the desk. So he decided not to show up this time. Harry quickly dismissed the thought from his mind, shifting his focus more to you. He noted your exhaustion and would berate you regarding it later.
“Who said they couldn’t be mine?” You teased back as you stood up, slipping the black frames off you and folding them to clip the glasses onto the collar of your top. Harry let out a deep chuckle, a giggle leaving your own. Your boyfriend set down his cup of java on the upper corner of the desk and dipped down to kiss you. He nipped at your lips when you responded to his sweet kiss before pulling away. Harry enjoyed the slight flush on your cheeks, a reaction only he could elicit with his existence. “What was that for?”
“What? I can’t give my lady a kiss?”
This smooth fucker. The heat in your heart intensified at his words and adoring gaze. You were going to unclip his glasses and hand them to him, but his hand stopped you. To anyone observing the scene, they can literally see heart eyes happening between the two of you. “Your lady may want more than just a simple kiss,” You giggled, your voice lowly enticing before pulling him back in, cupping his face with steady hands as your lips collided. Harry let out a laugh against your mouth, bracing his arms around your waist only to maneuver you to sit atop the cool desk.
Gasping at the sudden movement, Harry pushed his tongue into your mouth. You allowed him to slot himself between your legs, pulling him closer and running feather-light touches through his untamed hair. He groaned against you at your touch. God, you missed this closeness! Every time his lips met yours in fervor his grip on your hips would tighten slightly, sending a small shiver to run down your spine. How is it that this all feels so real?
His name escaped your swollen lips when Harry decided to head south, nipping at the nape of your neck before sucking on your sweet spots. How could he forget where you’re most vulnerable to his touch? Your hands gripped onto his shirt. A small noise left your lips, tilting your head more to the side to give the Harry more access to continue his conquest. The room felt hot, your body on fire at every one of Harry’s kisses as he marked your skin. You breathed his name again and Harry could not think straight. One of his strong hands left your side and cradled your face as his lips re-connected with yours once more in a searing kiss. His thumb gently stroked your cheek. How can the way you simply utter his name allow Harrison Wells to abandon all self-control?
Sherloque strode into the room with his cup of tea only to almost drop it at the scandalous scene in front of him. “Mon Dieu! Ayez de la décence!” You and Harry had ripping apart from each other at the sudden outburst, both of your heads snapping towards him. Harry sent a glare at Sherloque, who responded with an annoyed eyeroll at the couple. “At least lock zhe door if you’re going to get all ‘andsy wizh each ozher,” the detective grumbled before leaving the room and shutting the door. Your cheeks were on fire at this point, opting to look at your folded hands that rest on your lap. But Harry did not look ashamed in the slightest, instead a smirk on his face at your sudden bashfulness. You soon snapped out of your embarrassment when a thought had crossed your mind.
“Harry?”
“Hm?”
“Did you say anything to Nash?”
“No,” he lied, glancing up towards the ceiling.
“Uh huh,” you looked at him dubiously with narrowed eyes, “you know that I can tell when you’re lying, right?” You spoke with crossed arms.
“…” Harry’s eyes met yours and you raised a questioning eyebrow at him for an answer. He briefly shut his eyes before reopening them, “I may have… warned him not to come near you and such.”
“Warned or seriously threatened to utterly destroy?”
“… maybe a bit of both…”
“Harry!”
“What?! Do you not see the way he looks at you?”
“The way he what!? Harry, he’s my friend. Just like Sherloque and HR.” You sighed as he pouted sheepishly at you. “Honestly, you know I only have eyes for you.”
“I know, it’s just…” Harry trailed off.
“It’s just?”
“I’m not here. Physically here, to be by your side. To go home with you at the end of the day. Especially at the labs when other versions of myself show up out of nowhere and seem to try to get all chummy with you.”
You blinked at Harry a few times. “Are you… jealous?” Harry didn’t respond, grumpily frowning at your words as he attempted to avoid your gaze. He didn’t like that word. “You are, aren’t you?” The butterflies in your stomach fluttered as you teased him, knowing that his silence was proof enough. Harry sighed, pulling you in a close hug and you felt his head nod in dejection. Harry didn’t want to admit it out loud, that’s just how he is. You rubbed his back, “You know it’s ok to be jealous, right?” Harry let out a sarcastic exhale, resting his chin on your shoulder. You kissed the side of his head, “How do you think I felt every time a young bachelorette sauntered her way towards you at all those galas that we attended? All those thirst cubes you kept receiving? I swear Jesse had to hold me back before I was about to throw some hands, verbally and politely, but effectively scathing.”
Harry snickered at how you’ve dubbed the cubes he’s received from various women ‘thirst cubes’. “Every night, you were the only thing that I would see.” You gave him a tight squeeze before pulling away to give him a soft kiss.
“And you’re the only Wells that my heart wants to be with.” You smiled up at him before it suddenly dropped.
“What?” Fear grappled Harry’s heart. “What is it?”
You swallowed your own fear that had climbed into your throat. “It’s just… this is the last time that I’ll see you before… we have the systems go online to-” You trailed off as you directed your gaze to the ground, gesturing to your theory going into action as you did so. Harry pursed his lips, tilting your head up to look at him. Your eyes glistened in the calm lighting of the office, your voice cracking, “I’m not going to be there when you wake up, Harry.” The realization struck him as well, his eyes glancing down for a split second before meeting yours again.
“I’ll still find you. I’ll still come for you on Earth-Prime.”
There was a sudden knock at the door that snapped yours and Harry’s attention towards it, followed by a clearing of the throat and a thick German accent. “If you bozh are done in zhere, I’d like for eine kleine assembly to ‘appen.”
***
Diese beiden schwöre ich. “I don’t… even vant to know vhat you two vere doing.” Wolfgang deadpanned, holding blueprints in one hand and adjusting his glasses. Sherloque stood beside him with a new cup of tea in hand, this time without a fedora.
“We would never-”
“-We were having fun.”
You stumbled over your own words while Harry had owned up to his. You failed to realize the light hickies still on your neck until Wolfgang narrowed his eyes at you and Sherloque rolled his eyes as he watched the exchange. Harry knew they were there; he just didn’t point out that they were visible arm’s length away. Damn it, Harry! Your cheeks heated up and now you’re wondering if your real body now has hickies on them because there’s about to be some words thrown your way by two or three particular members of Team Flash.
“Ah ah ah ah, nein. None of zhat,” the German waved you two off with his hand, “just keep your ‘ormones at a decent level until ve get our bodies back. Zhen you two idiotenliebhaber can do whatever it is you two do when not in a crisis.” You dipped your head down shyly, but that didn’t stop your boyfriend from nudging your side and giving you a smug-ass grin. You glowered at him as he wiggled his eyebrows at you before Wolfgang caught your attention again. “Anyvay, ve need to discuss somezhing else vizh you. Sherloque und I vill also be coming to Earzh-Eins.”
“Why?”
“In case,” Harry started, “I don’t make it in time to recalibrate the Multiversal Communications Projector before all the others. Earth-Prime will essentially give the green light to the others in the multiverse to send in their coordinates.”
“We’ve already figured out Earzh-Prime’s dimensionale coordinates,” Sherloque added in. “Une sécurité intégrée vaut mieux que rien.”
You nodded at their words. I mean it makes sense, but… Wolfgang took out a couple sheets of paper that had been rolled up and hidden in the rolled-up blueprint file, handing it to you. “What’s this?”
“Ein liste of names of all the present Vells who’s neurological vavelengths are entangled vith Nash’s,” Wolfgang stated nonchalantly. “It seems zhat some Earzh are either permanently vacant or do not ‘ave ein Vells.”
“Like Kara’s Earth, old Earth I guess,” You responded, holding the sheets. “She’s Supergirl, used to live on Earth-38. Barry had accidentally multiverse jumped to Earth-38, thanks to Harry. He said that no one from Team Flash’s doppelgangers were on Earth-38, unlike Earth-2 and Earth-19.” Earth-19 Your eyes scanned the list; Wolfgang had done you a great favor in numbering it in Earth order. Could he..? The thought was soon shut out as you looked through the list.
Harry watched as your shoulders sagged, knowing who you were looking for. He pocketed his hands as a fake smile plastered itself onto your face.

The day had finally come. It’s time for the boys to come back home. Everyone had gathered in the Speed Lab. The machinery interconnected to one another as if interwoven into one mechanical creature. Your heart pounded in your chest and those dubious thoughts returned, but you willed them back. You needed to believe that this can work. Chester and Cisco were calibrating the tablets and satellites, running newer and improved diagnostics for this moment.
“That favor, that you owe me,” Nash’s voice caught your attention, snapping you out of your trance. You looked up at him with a quizzical look.
“Yeah?”
“I’m cashing it in,” Nash’s voice rasped as he took your hand. You humored the geological explorer. “Protect Allegra,” he whispered, his eyes glancing in her direction as her was turned because she was added the finishing touches with Cisco. The simple wish had surprised you, yet at the same time it didn’t in the slightest. “Please.” He sounded like a dying man marching to his death. And in a way he was if this doesn’t work.
“Always,” you nodded at him. Leaning up, you kissed his forehead softly before placing the Psyche Segregator on his head. “Thank you.” Nash remained silent and only closed his eyes as he sat back down. Releasing a breath, he reopening those piercing blue eyes filled with determination, but you can see that behind it there was a form of fear. He nodded. You nodded back at him, taking a step backwards before looking at the others. It’s time. Cisco handed you the tablet that held the ignition keys. You took in a breath, the weight of the tablet seemingly heavier than ever before. A multiverse of lives held within the tips of your fingers, only fate will decide if they live or die.
Your eyes met Nash’s one last time. Doubt choked your heart, but there was no going back. “Here we go,” you spoke each word slowly before pressing the button to ignite the Psyche Segregator.

Soft music floated in the air pouring gently out of the speakers strung high in the ceiling. You strolled around the music shop, your shop, bobbing your head while flicking through the stacks of vinyl records making sure it was in perfect alphabetical order. A hum rumbled in your throat syncing with the music. A bell chimed in the air. You peered over your shoulder seeing one of your friends, and business partners of said record shop, Cisco Ramon.
Crossing your arms, you smirked leaning on the section of records. “Well, well, well, look who finally decided to show up for work.”
Cisco smiled sheepishly as he shuffled farther into the shop. “Sorry, my alarm didn’t go off.”
“And if I remember it didn’t go off the last few times too,” Iris West, your other business partner, teased from behind the cashier counter.
Cisco huffed, “Alright, I overslept and I need a new alarm. Sue me.” You and Iris chuckled. Cisco’s grumpy façade broke at your smiles. He pulled out a tray of coffees and a brown paper bag from behind his back. “But, I did bring something. A little ‘I’m sorry’.”
“Ooo,” you walked over ready to snatch the food and drinks.
Cisco stepped back holding the items over his head, “Ah, wait. Am I forgiven?”
“Depends. Did you get my favorite?” You placed your hands on your hips.
“What else would I get?”
You shrugged, “I don’t know. Maybe you’re going to poison me and Iris so we stop grilling your ass for always being late.”
Cisco gasped. “How did you know?”
You both chuckled as Cisco handed over your drink and a pastry then he walked over to Iris to give her a drink and a pastry. You took a long sip from your drink and sighed in content, “All is definitely forgiven, Cisco.”
“Good,” he nodded smiling.
“But, you might have to keep us this routine to stay in our good graces.”
“What? Come on, I don’t have the kind of money.”
Iris rolled her eyes, “We all get paid the same. You have some extra cash laying around.”
“Then why don’t you guys buy breakfast.”
“We do,” you and Iris said at the same time.
Cisco crossed his arms. “Okay, fine, I’ll buy you guys breakfast more often.”
You and Iris laughed. All three of you congregated around the cashier checkout counter. You leaned on it, Iris sat on it, and Cisco pulled up a chair from the backroom to sit down. You looked over to Iris, “So, how was last night?”
She smiled, “It was great. Super romantic.”
“Wait,” Cisco said with a mouthful of pastry. “What happened last night?”
You rolled your eyes. “Barry took Iris out on a date last night. She was talking about it all day yesterday.”
Cisco blushed, “Oh, uh, sorry … mind my mind was a bit elsewhere yesterday.”
“With what?”
He doesn’t say anything.
Iris poked him. “Come on, Cisco we’re all friends here. What’s the problem?”
He dropped his head and mumbled, “It’s me and Kamila’s anniversary next week.”
You and Iris squealed. “Seriously?” you gushed.
“Yeah,” Cisco scratched the back of his neck, “it’ll be one year in a week. And … and I want to do something really special. And I’ve been thinking about for the past few days and I just don’t know what to do.”
“Dinner,” Iris quickly replied.
“Well, duh. I want to do a dinner, but I’m just not sure where.”
“Ooo, there was a really nice place HR took me years ago.” You rubbed your chin in concentration then jumped up shouting, “Cottage Café! That’s it! It’s a super cute restaurant with fantastic food. It’s a bit expensive but it has that nice intimate atmosphere.”
“Huh, I guess I’ll give it a look,” Cisco replied. He nervously sipped on his drink, clearly he had something he wanted to say. He cleared his throat, “So, uh, have you talked to HR since you two broke up?”
“Yeah, we talk occasionally. He has a new book coming out soon which is amazing for him. I can still remember him working on his first one when we were dating.”
Cisco crossed his arms and shook his head. “I still can’t believe it.”
“What?”
“You! You who has dated three dudes that look exactly the same, and they’re not even related. Like, what are the odds?”
Iris smirked, “(Y/N) just knows what she likes.”
You laughed, “Damn straight I do.”
Cisco leaned forward in his chair staring directly at you. “So, let me get this straight.”
You gesture for him to continue.
“You first dated HR, then … then Sherloque?” You nodded. “And now you’re dating Harry?”
“Um … yeah, you got it.”
“How?” He threw his hands into the air. “I … I just – ugh! I don’t understand! How? You never really talk about them too much.”
“Well, what do you want to know?”
“Everything!”
You chuckled. “Alright then.”
The bell above the door rang. You spun around seeing a man strolling into your little shop. His eyes were shiny with curiosity. He started looking through the records occasionally humming in interest. You leaned on the cashier counter eyeing him up and down. He was certainly gorgeous. Tall, dark, and handsome.
“Anything I can help you with?” You asked. The man jumped in surprise at the sound of your voice. You giggled and stepped out from behind the counter to walk towards him. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. I was just wondering if there is anything I can help you find.”
He blushed a bit. “No, it’s okay. My fault really, I was trapped in my own little world.”
“I totally understand.” You peered down at the record in his hand. “Good choice.”
He stared at you for a moment. Taken back by you, your easy nature and captivating presence. Setting the record back down, he said, “Um, thanks. I … I was actually looking for something.”
“And what would that be?”
“I’m not sure.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “I’m looking for music to … to …”
“To what?”
“… write. I’m an author – or trying to be!” He cleared his throat embarrassed by his outburst. “I’m just trying to find music that would help when writing. Something instrumental and upbeat.”
You smiled at him. “Well, you’ve come to the right shop. I got almost every album known to man, including instrumentals. Follow me.”
You weaved in between the short aisles of records before landing in front of a small section of instrumental records. “Now, I have some classical ones, but I think you’re wanting something a bit more nuisance.” You picked up two records. “These are one of my personal favorites. It’s very calming and just makes you feel good.”
He plucked the records from your hands. “Thank you.”
“What’s it about?”
“Huh?”
“Your book what’s it about?”
“Oh, uh, I’m not sure yet. But, I’m thinking a sci-fi adventure.”
You nodded, “Can’t go wrong with robots or aliens.”
He smiled, “Yeah.”
“Wait a minute, you met HR here?” Cisco asked.
“Yup,” you popped the ‘p’. “He was completely lost and to be honest it was kind of adorable.”
Cisco huffed leaning back in his seat. “How come I don’t remember this? Where was I?”
“You weren’t there. I think you were out on a lunch break or something. Iris saw him, though. She was in the back doing inventory.”
Iris nodded as her legs dangled over the side of the counter. “Yeah, I saw him when he was paying.”
You smiled a little at the memory. “Yeah … he also wrote his number on my hand.”
“And you were smitten.”
You blushed slightly. “Okay, maybe a little.”
“Then what?” Cisco interjected. “You two just broke up? Why?”
You and HR lounged on your couch in your apartment. The two of you have been dating for a few months, and everything felt good. But, there in laid the problem, it was only just good. You glanced at HR who was focused on the TV. He looked over feeling your eyes on him. He offered a smile which you returned.
Maybe, it’s me. Maybe, I just wasn’t ready for this.
HR gaze fell. His easy smile drooped as something plagued his mind.
“HR?” You reached out touching his leg.
He snapped out of his thoughts. “Yeah?”
“Are you okay? You seem a bit out of it today.”
“I … I was just thinking.”
“About?”
He fidgeted in his seat. He sat up and swiveled to face you. You instinctively straightened up seeing his own rigid posture. “I’ve been thinking about … about … us.”
“Us?” You repeated.
“Yeah,” he scratched the back of his head.
“Meaning?”
He sighed, “I don’t know.” HR did like you, but the two of you have been growing distance over the last month. That initial spark was gone. And he didn’t know if it was his doing or not.
You bit your lip. “HR … I think we should break up.”
HR perked up. His face impossible to read.
Please, don’t be mad. Please, don’t be mad.
“Wait, really? Because I was thinking the same thing,” he said.
You breathed out a sigh of relief knowing you were both on the same page. It definitely eased away any stress you had initially. “I mean it’s not you,” you explained, “this has been good. I had a ton of fun with you.”
“Me too,” he fiddled with his hands. “But, I just think … we … we’re going separate ways.”
“Yes!” You threw your hands up in agreement as a light laugh escaped. “You want to work on your book and my shop has been getting more and more costumers thanks to a certain someone recommending it to everyone.”
HR blushed, “I had to.”
“And I will forever be in your debt.”
He chuckled, “And I could say the same to you. I actually have a story to tell thanks to you.”
You shook your head, “You would have gotten there eventually. But with everything happening we just don’t have time for each other. This is, what? Our first time together since a week, probably more.”
“Yeah,” he mumbled. His eyes locked with yours. “Is … could we … could we possibly stay friends?”
“Absolutely,” you smiled. “Besides I need constant updates about your book and you bet your ass I’m going to be the first one in line to buy it.”
“Thank you, (Y/N).” He leaned in and kissed your cheek, “I’ll see you around.”
“Until next time.”
HR walked out of your apartment. It was still bittersweet, but both of you were happy with how it ended. A chapter closed with a new one ready to begin for the both of you.
Cisco stared at you dumbfounded. “Are … are you serious?”
You sipped the last drop of your drink. “Yeah.”
“That’s how you broke up? You broke up with him and he agreed?”
“Well, yeah, like I said we were drifting apart. We’re not romantically involved anymore, but we’re still kind of close.”
Cisco looked to Iris. “Can you believe this? Who breaks up with someone and still be friends with them?”
Iris laughed, “It’s pretty easy.”
“No, it’s not! It’s so weird.”
You walked over to the trashcan throwing away your cup. “HR was even kind enough to send me a copy of his book before it hit the shelves too,” you said. “I heard he’s working on a new one, plus there’s a rumor of a sequel to his first book which I cannot confirm or deny.”
“And Harry’s okay with this?” Cisco asked.
“Of course,” you paused stopping in your tracks. “Well, he was a little confused in the beginning, maybe a little jealous, but he gets it. I’m with him and only him. HR is just a friend nothing more. Hell, HR even knows about Harry.”
Cisco groaned pressing his head against the counter. He mumbled into the glossy wood as you and Iris smirked at each other. He quickly jerked up flinging his hair back. “Okay, so after HR you dated Harry? Where did you met him?”
Strolling into the backroom, you called out over your shoulder. “Actually I met Sherloque next!”
“Shit, I forgot about him,” he huffed. “The French detective.”
You plopped down a chair at the counter kicking your legs up. “Oui, et il était merveilleus aussi.”
“When did you learn to speak French!”
“She spent a whole summer in France, Cisco. How do you keep forgetting this stuff?” Iris asked.
“I’m a forgetful person, okay? Sorry.”
It’s been a few days since you landed in France. It was a well needed vacation and this place has been on your bucket list since you were a kid. For the whole summer, you were to be staying here learning the culture, learning the language, exploring hidden secrets, and cherishing their art and music. You were truly excited about the latter. You strolled through the town you were staying at with a map and a translation guide in your hands. You had a decent grasp of French, but it didn’t hurt to carry it around.
You turned a corner and collided into someone. You instantly rattled off, “Je suis vraiment désolé, je ne t’ai pas vu là-bas.”
“Ah, it is fine.”
You glanced up then stepped back in shock. “… HR?”
The man, who looked like HR but clearly was not, raised an eyebrow at you. “Ah, no, the name is Sherloque.”
You opened then swiftly shut your mouth. “I … I’m sorry you just look like someone I know.”
“Ah, that is okay, mon chérie.” He paused tilting his head. “Tourist?”
You blushed slightly. “Am I that obvious?”
He shook his head then pointed to the book and map clutched against your chest. “I saw those. Although, your French could use some work.”
“Well, aren’t you observant?”
He smirked, “More than you know.”
“Meaning?”
“I’m a detective, mon chérie. I can deduce everything and anything about you.”
“Alright then, go on.”
He blinked, “Pardon?”
“Go on. Deduce me.” You smiled. “I’m curious as to what you can see.”
He cleared his throat, “Ah, right.” He glanced over you and nodded. Seconds later, he began listing off all the basics of your life from where you live, if you have any pets, friends, relationships, down to your job. “And you are a music store owner.”
You cocked your head, “And how exactly do you know that?”
He smirked, “I cannot spill my secrets to a stranger.”
You laughed shaking your head. “Well, how about I treat you to a drink? A little sorry for running into you.”
“I would love that, petit oiseau chanteur.”
“So, you just ran into him? Just like that?” Cisco asked flabbergasted. “What are you a magnet for these dudes?”
You shrugged, “I don’t know.”
Iris smirked, “I think she is.”
“I mean she has to be,” Cisco added.
You laughed, “Alright, maybe I am.”
Iris leaned forward, “So, what happens next?”
“Well … it was a wonderful time. A, uh, exciting time,” you winked.
Iris laughed, “So it was all physical?”
“Well, no … yes? I don’t know. I just know that after the summer ended I went back home and we never really spoke since. He’s off busying solving crimes, doing his thing.”
“So …”
“Yeah?”
“Was it good?”
“The sex?”
“No, the food – yes, the sex!”
You blushed, “Yes, it was good.” You slowly reminisced on those wondrous nights together. “I guess you could say I really learned to appreciate the French language that summer.”
Iris laughed while Cisco groaned, “Can we please move on? I’m glad you got some action, but I rather not here about it in detail.”
Iris booed Cisco. “Speak for yourself. Us girls need to know this stuff.”
Cisco jumped to his feet. “That’s it, I’m going to go get some lunch. You guys get all that girl talk out of your system then when I get back I want to hear the rest of this story.”
Lunch?
You glanced over to the clock, and yes it was lunchtime. The hours seemed to be flying by. You didn’t even realize it until Cisco said something. Your stomach then growled at the mentioning of food. Cisco marched towards the exit when you called out to him, “Can you please bring some Big Belly Burger back?”
He sighed looking over his shoulder. “Yeah, do you want something to Iris?”
Iris nodded, “The usual please.”
“Will do.”
As Cisco walked out of the shop, Iris turned to you. “Now spill.”
Thirty minutes later, Cisco returned with the food and drinks. You and Iris were talking in hushed voices. Cisco cringed at the sight. He didn’t want to imagine what the two of you were talking about. “Um, I’m back,” he announced.
You and Iris whipped your heads over to Cisco, both smiling like giddy schoolgirls. “Cisco! Right on time,” you cheered. “I was just telling Iris –“
“Ah! I don’t want to hear it!” He placed the bags down on the counter. “Just take the food and continue on with your story. And don’t tell me about your sex life!”
You smiled and grabbed your burger. You fell back into your seat thankful for the food. “So,” you said in between bites, “where did I leave off?”
Cisco sipped his drink, “We were on Harry and how you met him.”
“Right!”
In a small café, music gently filled the air. Music specifically from an acoustic guitar. Your acoustic guitar. You sat on a stool on a small staging area. A spotlight shone on you. With your eyes closed losing yourself in your music, you continued to strum the guitar. Two other people had joined you on the stage. One of them played the keyboard and the other sang beautifully.
It was a Sunday, in the middle of the afternoon. You come here every Sunday at this time to play whether it was with others or by yourself. As the singer’s voice faded off the crowd clapped. You sighed and placed your guitar on its stand. It was your break. As you strolled off the stage, a duo, both singers, took your place.
The barista behind the counter, Jerome, smiled as you approached. “You were awesome today, (Y/N).”
You leaned on the counter. “Are you implying that I suck every other time?”
Jerome laughed, “You know what I mean.”
“Well, you know why I’m here.”
He smiled, “Your usual drink and sandwich.”
“Ah, you know me so well.”
He chuckled then turned to start preparing it. You sighed and turned around pressing your back into the counter scanning the crowd. There wasn’t many. Not that there ever was, but it didn’t matter. You loved playing here. Loved to indulge in your hobby. It was a nice change from your shop.
A man walked up beside you wanting to order. Jerome peered over his shoulder, “One minute, sir, and I’ll be with you.”
“Okay,” the man mumbled. He peered over at you watching as you nodded along to the song the pair was singing. Watching as the music enveloped you. He cleared his throat, “Um, you were pretty good up there.”
You smiled ducking your head. “Thanks.”
You glanced up to the man and you blinked in shock. It was the face you knew by heart at this point, but attached to a completely different man. His oceanic eyes bore into you.
“Uh …” you mumbled.
He cocked his head. He opened his mouth when Jerome cut him off, “Here you go, (Y/N)!”
You quickly thanked Jerome and grabbed your drink and sandwich. You were about to walk away when you stopped. You stared as the twin – doppelganger or whatever you want to call it – of HR and Sherloque order a black coffee. You bit your lip. “Um, excuse me?”
The man glanced to you shoving his hands into his front pockets. “Yeah?”
“Do … do you want to sit with me? I don’t know, maybe talk?”
He blinked in surprise. “I … I –“
“Sorry,” you cut him off feeling extremely embarrassed, “I didn’t mean to be so forward.”
“No, um, I would love to … but I’m busy right now. I … I have work that I have to do.”
“Work?”
He scratched the back of his neck. “I” –he muttered a curse under his breath – “I would love to, I really do, but I have meetings to attend to with investors and other colleagues.”
You smiled sadly, “Next time then.”
“Here you go, Harry,” Jerome passed over a coffee.
Harry picked it up thanking Jerome. He looked to you. “So, uh …”
“I’ll be here next Sunday same time. Or I have a record shop downtown, SoulNotes, you can come a visit.”
“SoulNotes?”
You nodded. “And yes that’s the cheesy name my partners decided on. I was outvoted.”
“What was the name you wanted?”
“… uh … that’s not important,” you blushed. Technically, it was worse than SoulNotes, but he didn’t need to know that.
He smiled, “It was that bad, huh? Maybe one day I’ll find out.”
“You visit and maybe I’ll tell you.”
Harry nodded, “Looks like I’m coming to your shop.”
“And I guess you could say the rest is history,” you finished. Trash from Big Belly Burger littered the counter. You leaned on your elbow staring at Cisco while Iris smiled down at you.
Cisco shook his head. “Three dudes, three similar looking dudes. That’s just so weird. I still can’t believe.”
“Well, believe it,” you said.
“So, where’s Harry now?”
“Working with contractors and going over blueprints on his science building.”
“What is he going to do there?”
“Pave the way for the future.” You sighed dreamily, “You should really hear him talking about future possibilities. It can be a bore when he explains the mathematics behind it, but the ideas the man has is unbelievable.”
Iris and Cisco smiled at you. You were truly love struck with this last one. You dropped your forehead on the counter as your cheeks warmed at the thought of Harry. “I got it bad for this one,” you whispered into the wood.
Iris chuckled then rubbed your back, “You think this one is staying?”
“Dear god I hope so,” you mumbled.
“What is it about this one?”
“I don’t know,” you lifted your head, “I mean with HR and Sherloque it wasn’t bad. But there’s something about Harry that just feels more right, if that makes sense. I mean we don’t have to say anything sometimes. Sometimes we’ll just sit in the living room, I’ll be playing my guitar while he’s going over his work. It … it just feels so nice.”
“Girl, you go it bad,” Cisco smirked.
You blushed hiding your face in your hands, “I know.” The bell chimed as someone walked in. You didn’t move. “You guys got this customer right?”
“I think you might want to help this one, (Y/N).” Cisco replied.
You peeked up and saw Harry walking in with a smile. You smiled wildly then jumped up and ran over to him. You leapt you in his arms. “I thought you wouldn’t be done until later tonight.”
Harry chuckled. “We got done early, besides I needed to come and see you.”
“Well, aren’t you two just the sweetest,” Cisco teased.
Harry glanced up nodding to your partners. “Ramon. West.”
“Hey, Harry,” Iris smiled.
“Do you mind if I steal your co-worker for the rest of the day?”
“Actually –“
“Go right on ahead,” Iris cut off Cisco.
“Are you sure?” You asked looking back over to them.
“Get the hell out of here,” she smiled.
You laughed. You muttered a ‘hold on’ as you sprinted to the backroom to grab your bag. In seconds, you were back at Harry’s side. Cheeks flushed from running and excitement. Iris and Cisco smiled as you walked out of the shop hand in hand with Harry.
Yeah, they thought, Harry is definitely a keeper.

(c. December 2018, Season 5)
Tally curled up against the edge of the seating couch in the center of Jitters. She rather loved the cozy addition to the coffee shop, and was grateful for any time she could spend on it. Jitters was quiet right now, the lunch hour just winding down and the baristas scurrying about cleaning up and restocking. The sun poured through the windows, warming the shop, and Tally’s toes tapped unconsciously to the music pumping through her headphones. She took a sip of her pumpkin spice latte and picked up her tablet, ready to start another round of research on Cicada.
               “Bonjour, petit alouette.”
The distinctive French voice got around her music (as it always did), and Tally’s heart beat a little faster as she looked up to see Sherloque standing before her. As usual, the tall detective wore his brown pants and button up black shirt with the green/navy waistcoat fastened securely around his chest. His grey blazer hung open on his shoulders, and his black fedora hid his brown curls. Tally gave him a little smile. “Bonjour, Sherloque. Que fais-tu?”
“Ah. I am working.” He gestured to the tablet in his hand.
Tally raised her tablet. “So am I. Cicada?”
“Non. A side project. No charge.” A little twinkle glimmered in his eye. “We are all surprised, yes, by the arrival of Miss Nora?”
Tally nodded, though her stomach still curled at the memory of the sheer hatred in Nora’s voice when she had addressed Tally last. “It’s way cool to see Barry and Iris’s kid, but we don’t really have a good track record with visitors from the future.” If only I could get her to tell me what she thinks I did…maybe I can figure out where this ‘Overdose’ came from…
Sherloque didn’t say anything and she looked up to see him tilting his head curiously at her, silently urging her to continue. Instead, she found herself staring at him just a little more. There had been a time when a Wells tilting his head would have triggered memories of Ren, harsh enough that she would have to look away. Now…all she could think of was how attractive it made Sherloque look, that detective brain latching on to a curiosity she had unknowingly laid out in front of him.
“We don’t get a lot of visitors from the future,” she elaborated, “but the ones we have gotten generally don’t bring good news. Thawne, of course. We had a magician last year, Abra Kadabra…full of nothing but arrogance and dislike. He was from the 64th century. And Nora…”
“Has brought Cicada.” Sherloque sat down on the couch beside her, gently setting down his teacup and saucer on the coffee table in front of them. “And something else too…something personal, dare I ask?”
Tally shifted position, turning towards him. “She was nice enough at Joe’s place but when we were alone…she called me a name I’ve never heard before, and told me that…that in the future I was responsible for…killing a whole lot of people.” Her eyes slid away as she spoke, anxiety and guilt for something she hadn’t even done still weighing on her shoulders. She absently set down her latte.
Alarm and concern warred on Sherloque’s face as he leaned towards her. “You believe her?”
               “She’s from the future.”
“Ah, but is the future set? Or is the timeline…malleable?”
They had spent much of the previous year working on answering that very question and honestly, Tally still didn’t know what they had found out. Iris had been stabbed but it hadn’t been Iris, and H.R. had pointed a gun at Savitar from the roof, but it hadn’t been H.R.. The scene had played out the way Barry had seen, but the wrong people had died. Was the future set?
She shook her head. “I don’t know.”
“This is not something to worry about. You are not a killer. You do not think about killing these people. The idea, it makes you sick. You cannot even smell your coffee.” He gestured to her latte on the coffee table before focusing his eyes on hers again. “What Nora knows, what Nora sees, it is in her time, not this one. You are not a killer, petit alouette.”
Tally couldn’t help but smile at the nickname, nor could she stop the blush crawling into her cheeks. She knew he would see it, and she dearly hoped he would not comment on it. To try and hide her reddening cheeks, she murmured: “Thanks, Sherloque,” and quickly reached for her drink. In her haste, her hand knocked over the salt shaker on the table, spilling salt. “Oh, crap!”
“What? It is a spill, we get the napkin here…” Sherloque reached for the napkin dispenser but Tally was already grabbing a pinch of the salt and throwing it over her left shoulder. Sherloque stared at her, clearly surprised and confused, before continuing. “What is this, you throw?” He imitated her tossing the salt over her shoulder.
“It’s bad luck,” Tally said. “It’s just…” She felt suddenly embarrassed, blushing for a whole other reason now. “You spill salt, it’s bad luck. You cancel it out by throwing some over your left shoulder.”
“Ah, it is bad luck on this Earth! Well. Let me tell you a secret. On my Earth, it is time to make a wish.”
               Tally blinked. “What?”
“Make a wish,” Sherloque smiled. He took a pinch of the salt and tossed it out into the room, briefly shutting his eyes before looking back to her. “Your turn.”
“Like when you lose an eyelash,” Tally said. “You make a wish and blow it away.”
Sherloque gestured. Tally leaned forward and picked up a pinch of salt, then shut her eyes, her mind spinning through a dozen thoughts before landing on one simple desire. She tossed the salt into the room as well.
“Now we clean up the salt, but we do not throw it away. It goes outside to help carry our wishes.” Sherloque swept the salt into a pile, moved it into his hand, and then shook some of it into hers. “I will go first so no one takes our seat. That would be bad luck, yes?”
“This is such a ritual!” Tally laughed.
“Spilling salt is no simple matter.”
They took turns dumping the salt out of her hands, earning curious looks from the baristas as they left and reentered the store, and by the time they sat back down Tally had forgotten all about Nora. She leaned against the back of the couch, propping her head up in her hand, and smiled at the detective sipping his tea beside her. When he had finished lingering over the flavor, he settled in the seat and looked at her, his blue eyes vibrant in his tan face and his thin lips stretched in an inviting smile. Her heart rate picked up again as she thought about her wish, and she swallowed.
“What was your wish, petit alouette?” he asked.
Was he reading her mind? Was that how he was such a good detective? Tally blinked. “What?”
               “Your wish.”
“You don’t tell people your wish! That stops it from coming true!”
He raised an eyebrow. “And how can a wish come true with only one person believing in it?”
He had a point, but Tally still wasn’t sure how to tell him without setting the room on fire from humiliation. “What was yours, then? You wished first.”
“You spilled the salt. It is your wish that is important.”
“Oh, stop trying to trick me.” Tally tried to sound annoyed but the grin on his face was infectious and she could not resist the urge to giggle at the silliness of the whole moment. Had he set all of this up to distract her from Nora, Overdose, and Cicada? Or was this just a quirky setup of life in all its randomosity? “You first.”
“Very well. I wished…” he trailed off dramatically before winking, “…to see you smile.”
Oh. Well. Tally ducked her head. “That wasn’t your wish. You’re just being a flirt.”
“You don’t know if it was my wish or not.”
“Isn’t it bad luck to lie about a wish?”
“You hurt me!” He lay a hand on his heart, looking mock-stung, and Tally laughed again.
“You’re just trying to manipulate me into telling you my wish.”
“And it is working. You are going to tell me.”
Tally raised an eyebrow. “Where are you getting that idea?”
Sherloque looked her over, his eyes dancing and that damning little smile on his lips. Then, to her surprise, he leaned over to her, closing the distance between them considerably. His eyes flicked to her lips as she parted them unconsciously and she swallowed quickly, suddenly aware that she had no desire to move even though everything inside of her thought t would be a very good idea to do so.
“You want to,” he said, his voice a low, inviting purr, sending shivers through her body and pleasant sensations through her abdomen. No matter what Earth he was from or what name he had, Harrison Wells had a voice that weakened her defenses. Ren had had it too, and she could remember him using it on her to great effect.
But the face in front of her was…for once…not Ren’s. It belonged to Sherloque Wells. She could look at his face…and not see her dead fiancé.
“You are curious,” he continued, captivating her. “We are from two different worlds and this is a superstition from mine. You want to because you wonder if it is real even though it is not from your Earth. Come on, petit alouette. Tell me what it is you wished.”
“For a chance,” Tally breathed. No hesitation, his blue eyes held hers and his voice coaxed the words out of her throat.
“A chance for what?” he asked, his voice no less enticing but now just as soft.
“Just a chance.” He could not seduce out of her what was not there. Give me a chance, she had thought, and even as she had blown the salt away she realized she hadn’t quite known what she was asking for. It had been a simple desire, a chance. An option. Give me the option.
But this close to him, with the warmth of the room and the thick smell of the coffee and the thumping beat of music in the background, she had a feeling she knew exactly what she was asking for. The question was, was he good enough to figure it out?
The silence between them worked as a magnet, drawing them closer and closer...
A violent vibration tore through the air as Tally’s cell phone skittered across the coffee table. The two of them jumped, looking down at it, and Tally grabbed it on reflex, hitting the ‘accept’ button. “Y-Yeah? What?”
               “Ah…you okay, gurl?”
Cisco. Tally exhaled a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. “Yeah, yeah. You started me. I was…reading.”
A slight pause, then: “Uh-huh. Well. Is Sherlock with you?”
“Loque!” Sherloque said loudly. Tally did a double take. How did he hear that? Her phone wasn’t on speaker!
“Ask me if I care!” Cisco shouted back over the phone.
               “Cisco,” Tally complained.
“Sorry. So. He’s there with you and we need the two of you back at S.T.A.R. Labs. Can you get here fast please?’
Tally nodded before remembering she wasn’t on video chat. “Yes. We’ll be right there.”

Your Stupid Smile
Word count: ~6,100
Pairings: oc x canon
Warnings: fluff and shenanigans
Sup! I’m actually running out of stories to post. Didn’t think this through too well. Curses to writers block and the fact I write long stories. Even so, do hope you enjoy! 🥔🎨
**Note, Emily is my personal character. I just like to stick her places. I also still have no idea how to do a ‘short click for full’ post.
———
Irritating, simply irritating. Everyone was having a good time, sure, but Nash was having a hard time joining in on the fun. Every time he got close to truly relaxing and enjoying the company around him, he would hear it, that laugh. Of course, once he heard the laugh he had to see where it originated from, and it was always the same face. That stupid face and that stupid smile. He couldn’t stand that smile, and he didn’t want to admit to himself the reason why it bothered him so much.
The team was in the lounge enjoying the company of each other after a long day. Cisco was telling a story, Barry and Iris adding tidbits here and there, and the more elaborate and ridiculous it became the more laughs rang out. By the end of it everyone was rolling and roaring with laughter which only intensified after a stray loud squeak sounded. Emily covered her mouth in embarrassment before folding over the bar counter in laughter again. “I’m sorry!” She breathed trying to apologize between laughs. “I don’t know where that came from!” She covered her face in an attempt to wipe away the tears now rolling down her rosy face. “Oh no, my face sprung a leak!” Everyone continued giggling and Ralph stretched his hand over to her to deliver a tissue. She took it with a mousy thanks wiping her face. Nash was trying his hardest to keep from looking at her, he already made the mistake of just glancing over and he scowled to himself about the flush slowly spreading up his neck.
“Hey Estrata,” Cisco called after composing himself a degree. “You got any stories to share?”
“Yeah,” Ralph agreed. “You almost never share anything. Think you could drop the mysterious facade for a night?” Emily had one arm draped over her head and held her cheek with her other hand as she thought. “Hmmm..... I dunno,” she teased. “I’m not exactly good at sharing, things about me anyway.”
“There’s room for only one queen of ice,” Frost defended. “Quit giving the cold shoulder and fess up would ya?” Emily gave a growly sigh as she seriously considered the plethora of things buried within. “Ok fine,” she relented. “You make a good case, and Ralph has a point. I’m just, I’m really hesitant to share much. Seeing as I could find myself stranded somewhere else, it gets tiresome re-explaining.” Everyone gets quiet and Emily scratches her head realizing she killed the mood a little. “Eh, I think I have a solution though. Tell me,” she smiled. “What you wanna know? Besiiiides, my name,” she cut Ralph off before he could ask. Everyone chuckled and Nash just smirked.
Frost stared her down thinking intently, Emily actually got nervous with the holes being drilled into her soul with the stare, before she decided on a question. “You don’t look like the type to, but are obviously capable of, doing some not so desirable things. So have you?”
Emily squinted at her before straightening her back and clearing her throat. “Just, just gettin riiiiiiight into it huh?”
“I don’t make a habit of pussyfooting around,” Frost dismissed smirking. Emily patted her cheeks trying to think of a good story to tell while everyone turned 100% of their attention to her, excitedly waiting for whatever secret would come up. “Ok, ok, I got one,” she said smiling. “Believe it or not, but, I’ve had to break out of area 51.”
“You were taken to area 51?!” Barry asked shocked. “How? Why??” Emily flashed another, albeit awkward, smile. “Well, I am a wanted woman back where I come from.”
“Wanted huh?” Frost asked somewhat impressed. “What’d you do to earn that target on your back?”
“Exist,” she said plainly. “What I am, is a very valued product to a group of people. I’m one of a handful, if not the only person, with my genetic makeup.” She sighed making everyone become glum. “They really wanted to study me, poke and prod and see how they could use me and duplicate what I am.”
“Estrata, I didn’t—“ Frost started before Emily waved dismissively. “No, no, it’s fine,” she assured with a smile. “After learning that I decided to make myself the biggest most obnoxious target ever,” she waved her hands in front of her to illustrate as she giggled reminiscing. “I thought to myself, that if they wanted me that badly they’re gonna have to work for it. So I made it my mission to piss them off and kick their collective ass,” she flashed a big smile. “Besides, if they’re busy chasing me and my friends, they can’t go looking for anyone else.”
“Guess that explains all the injuries Caitlyn found,” Frost commented thoughtfully. “And the fact you gave Dr. Wells such a hard time about just coming to the lab in the beginning.”
“Yup! Broken ribs, arms, legs, fractured skull and fingers, I’ve had my stomach punctured straight through at least twice, and my shoulder. Think that one actually broke my shoulder blade to be honest.....” Emily rambled.
“Jeeze....” Ralph said stunned.
“And that’s not counting their penchant for causing neurological damage with all variations for shock collars and tasers,” she listed with a smirk. “I really shouldn’t be smiling but honestly, they’re some serious badges of honor so why not?” They all softened their faces though she could tell they still felt bad. “So anyway, “ she continued, “there I am in the bowels of area 51, strapped to a chair in some interrogation room when two guys in suits come in.” Everyone changed their tune as she gets back into the story, Nash admiring her resourcefulness and determination. As she rambled and gesticulated enhancing the story with her hands, complete with illusions and little animations, Nash couldn’t help but stare even when she smiled bright. Cisco noticed his staring and bumped his arm jostling him enough to break his gaze. He wiggled his eyebrows causing Nash to grumble and avert his gaze from everyone but still listened attentively.
~~
“Soooo, there’s a whole facility underneath?” Barry asked once she finished. “And what we all think is area 51 is just a cover?” Emily nods with a smile. “There’s quite a lot buried underneath. I think the whole desert lot actually.”
“And no one knows about it?” Ralph asked.
“Lots of people know, but the government makes them seem crazy. That’s one of the reasons I didn’t like Eiling all that much, reminded me too much of them.”
“So this, Quazar, or Quinton, was there too?” Frost asked. “Why was he there again?”
Emily paused trying to formulate the sentence as coherently and short as possible without rambling again. “He was the one who gave me my powers. Well, not really gave but, reactivated dormant genes so I could do what I do. It’s how I got the monicker ‘half breed’.” She drifted off in her memories. “We grew close, and I must admit I didn’t handle learning he was an alien well but. We protected each other, and came to care a lot about each other.” She smiled thoughtfully. “He’s my anchor to home. Him and Oliver and Flaer and Jimmy.” Bringing herself back to the present she cleared her throat. “He was there for leverage I guess. Most likely for added study being a pure blood. As long as he was there I would be too, even if I got out I would come back to try and get him out. So I just broke him out right away and messed up their plans.” She flashed a smile lightening the mood of the room.
“Boy, you are just full of mysteries aren’t you?” Ralph asked with a smirk.
“Eeeyup! And I am 100% telling the truth too. I also gave yooouuuu..... three mysteries? Three mysteries an explanation,” she said standing with a stretch. “No more.”
“Just, one more question?” Cisco asked. “Do you miss him? Quinton?”
Emily paused looking at him. “Well yeah, ‘course I do. I get homesick sometimes. I miss everyone back home.” She sighed deeply as her mind wandered a bit. “Sometimes, my relay picks up messages he sends. Takes quite a long time to decompress the file because of barriers and reality changes but, he asks me how I’m doing, gives me updates on what’s going on, tells me to hurry home. But....” She rubs her cheek thinking. “He said..... he said if I ever get stuck somewhere, not to worry about them back home. He would keep everyone safe, and that he wanted me to be happy wherever I landed.” She smiled softly. “So... so I try. I try real hard, to be happy. And make other people happy. And, I guess I do a pretty good job.”
“You do,” Nash commented without thinking. Everyone turned their attention to him, Emily raising an eyebrow and smiling softly. “Huh?” Nash cleared his throat averting his gaze. “I-I mean I’ve noticed, that, everyone enjoys your—your company and. And they, like, having you around.”
“That include you?” She asked. Nash snaps his head to her and makes eye contact, his words momentarily caught in his throat as he begins to panic having been put on the spot. “Speak,” Harry says manifesting beside him. “You need to speak, say something.”
“I mean yeah, I guess,” Nash coughs out. “I certainly don’t find you all that annoying anyway.”
“Probably not the right response....” Harry comments.
Emily frowns a little. “Hmm, well I suppose that’s something.” Nash turns away from her again, Emily cocked an eyebrow noticing his ears turning rather red. She was sure he felt them burning but decided not to press him further.
“She noticed that you know,” Sherloque said manifesting by the bar behind her. Nash looked at him curiously. “What?” He asked.
“I didn’t say anything,” Emily responded taking her seat at the bar again. “Oh, sorry,” Nash apologized. “Thought I heard something. Guess it was nothing more than an auditory hallucination or something.”
“She’s not as oblivious as you think she is,” Sherloque continued. “I guarantee she already knows how you feel, and is just waiting on you to do something about it.” Nash turned away from the bar trying to ignore him, in addition to keep his flush from getting worse. He didn’t want to acknowledge it but it was rather difficult to keep from staring at her or subconsciously follow her around. He grumbled to himself trying to get his mind on something—anything—else. Cisco noticed and smiled mischievously having gotten an idea. “Hey, I remember you saying you attended a spontaneous karaoke session with Harry at one point,” he started. “Think you could sing something?”
“Wait, you sing?” Ralph asked in surprise.
“As a..... hobby.....” Emily said shyly. “I don’t really.... sing in— in public. Much....”
“Why not?” Barry asked. “Caitlyn said I sing pretty well and I never sing in public.”
“She gets carried away,” Nash says still not looking at her. “Least that’s what Harry said. Though, I’m not sure if it’s her or the crowd she sings in front of.”
“It’s, uh, it’s a little of both....” Emily half confirmed.
“How’s that?” Ralph asks intrigued.
“Uhhmmmm.... well.....” Emily fidgets a little. “I’m a bit on the theatrical side. I like my special effects, people like seeing all the flashy stuff and, well, I can get lost in the music. Sometimes.”
“All the time,” Harry comments. “Tell her to sing So Soft by that Carrie woman.”
“Why So Soft?” Nash asks out loud. Emily stiffens and blushes slightly. “What?” she squeaks. Harry smirks. “That’s why.” Nash looks over at her, smile threatening to crack onto his face as she sat there with her cheeks slowly getting rosy. Cisco notices her posture change as well and smiles wide. “I think we may have a winner for song choice.”
“Nu-no, not that,” Emily stammers. GP flies over to her whirring what seemed like a suggestion which only served to make Emily beat red. “I am NOT singing that one!” She near yells. “You should know better than to suggest that.” The drone whirrs again. “That one’s worse, no!”
“I kinda like the idea of worse,” Ralph teases. “What was suggested anyway?” Emily casts her gaze down making her hands into fits and pressing them into her knees. “GP always try to suggest two songs he knows will make me uncomfortable,” she explains. “They’re...... uhm..... they’re.....” Emily pauses before rolling her head and deciding to just get it over with. “They’re called ‘Do You Think I’m Sexy’ and...... ‘Sex bomb’......”
Everyone’s interest had been piqued with Cisco and Nash both staring at her with raised eyebrows. Emily covered her face in embarrassment floating above her seat a little. “I shouldn’t have said anything,” she near whines. “What about Talking Body?” GP whirrs in intelligible english tones. “Preferred over those, but still no.” Emily responds still red in the face. “No, I.... hmm.... I think I... h-have one. It’s called Collide.” Emily straightened her posture and cleared her throat. “Oh this is embarrassing......” she muttered under her breath after a pause and cringing. Taking a breath to calm herself she began, GP providing the background music.
*Lately, I feel like I’m pushing you away*
*Acting moody for no reason*
*And even though you know I'm always gonna stay*
*I've been talking like I'm leaving*
*I don't know why I keep playing these dumb games*
*Love is not a competition*
*And no one's winning when I'm pushing you away*
*Sometimes darkness is a prison*
The lights seem to dim a little before returning to the normal ambient light. Taking a breath to steady her nerves further, Emily continues.
* Turn the lights on, honey, honey, I don't wanna hide*
*Turn the lights on, honey, I'm surrendering tonight*
*Although I'm not perfect, I feel perfect in your eyes*
*Turn the lights on, honey, I don't really wanna hide, not tonight*
*Come and crash into me 'cause I want us to collide*
*Collide, collide, collide*
*Collide, collide, collide*
Emily smiles becoming more relaxed even beginning to move in rhythm with the music and providing small effects such as orbs of lights and dimming the actual lights at times.
*Look into my eyes and tell me we're okay*
*And we both can be forgiven*
*Kiss me gently, say the things you wanna say*
*You don't need to ask permission*
*I'm a stormy ocean, but you're steady*
*And I'm a commotion, but you get me*
*Too many emotions, but you let me*
*Let me blossom in the dark*
The lights dim and brighten to the beat of the song, the orbs of light change color and seem to twinkle and multiply. Emily smiles wide as she sings and looks around in amusement at the display going on. Everyone else is distracted by the lights but Nash was fixated on Emily. He smiled as she smiles happier than he’s ever seen feeling as though this was her unfiltered.
*Turn the lights on, honey, honey, I don't wanna hide*
*Turn the lights on, honey, I'm surrendering tonight*
*Although I'm not perfect, I feel perfect in your eyes*
*Turn the lights on, honey, I don't really wanna hide, not tonight*
*Come and crash into me 'cause I want us to collide*
*Collide, collide, collide*
*Collide, collide, collide*
The lights slowly begin to dim as Emily, having decided to stand, took slow strides toward the center of the group. She begins to float the closer she gets and takes a modest cross-legged ‘seat’ in the air. Everyone looks around curiously and Nash fixates on her again.
*I'm a stormy ocean, but you're steady*
*I'm like a commotion, but you get me*
*Too many emotions, but you let me*
*Let me blossom in the dark*
Emily darkens the whole room by creating a field that prevented any light to show through. She then made it look like she was glowing, her suit had appeared, her hair was snow white with the unique holographic shine, and she still kept the rest of them in utter darkness as she continued toward the song’s end.
* Turn the lights on, honey, honey, I don't wanna hide*
*Turn the lights on, honey, I'm surrendering tonight*
Emily snaps her fingers and flicks her wrist in front of her causing an explosion of stars appear in the room making it look like they were in the deep of space. Still glowing, albeit softer, she smiles wide. Nash watches noting she seemed to feel at home in such an environment almost looking free, maybe even exited to share the wonder of the void she knew so well with people she cared for. She looked dazzling in that moment.
*Although I'm not perfect, I feel perfect in your eyes*
*Turn the lights on, honey, I don't really wanna hide, not tonight*
*Come and crash into me 'cause I want us to collide*
*Collide, collide, collide*
*Collide, collide, collide*
*Collide, collide, collide*
*Collide, collide, collide*
The room fades back to black and Emily brings the normal light back into the room gradually so as not to blind everyone. They watch in stunned silence as she takes a few steps back toward her chair, suit disappearing and hair returning to her usual red tinted brunette, and she smiled shy and awkwardly. “So.....?” she asked.
“That was—“ Nash began.
“Amazing!” Cisco interrupted causing Nash to snap out of whatever trance he fell into. Emily smiled placing a hand on her cheek as she blushed. “Hobby my ass,” Ralph scolded. “You’ve put in some serious work to sound that good.”
“I’ve, had a few years of practice,” she teased.
“Well, whatever it is you just stunned us with, I wish I had a talent like that,” Iris commends. “That was..... wow!”
“Sing something else!” Wally said enthusiastically.
“Yeah, that was great!” Joe agrees enamored.
Emily laughs waving a hand. “No no, I would be singing all night. Do you know what I would sound like tomorrow if I did that?”
“C’mon, just one more?” Frost asks surprisingly invested. Emily sighs with a reluctant smile tilting her head toward Nash a little. “Again, Harry, this is why I don’t sing in front of people.”
Nash chuckled in amusement with Harry smiling next to him. “Three. Three ‘one more’ requests that night,” he explained. “I was worried she would kill me by the end of it. If it weren’t for Jessie changing the topic when we left she may well have.” Nash looked at him curiously. “I was......responsible for two. She wasn’t enthused when I got the whole room going,” he said reminiscing. “By the way, if that wasn’t an obvious tell, I don’t know what is.” Nash’s gaze fell upon Emily again as she grumbled placing both hands on her cheeks considering indulging their requests. “No, no. It’s going to turn into karaoke night all over again if I don’t stop now,” Emily determined. “Only one tonight, but maybe another some other time,” she smiled raising a finger with a wink.
Casual conversation carried for another hour or two before Emily began to yawn, followed by a few of the others present. Half an hour after the first yawn, everyone decided to call it a night. It was well into the evening at this point and no one wanted to risk sleeping in too late. Emily stretched winding up leaning all the way back, about 90°, over the bar. She stayed like that taking a deep breath and complained about not wanting to move. “I think I’m just gonna.... sleep here. Like this. Yeah, this is comfy....”
“Thaaaat doesn’t *look* comfortable.....” Cisco commented looking confused at how she could even *do* that.
“Must not be a fellow human rubber band,” she replied grabbing her elbows keeping her arms above her head. “Being super bendy sure comes in handy.” She smiled lazily and turned her head to face the person she heard moving to her side, seemingly tripping over a chair. Her eyes met Nash’s, who’s cheeks immediately turned rosy, and lifted her head. “You ok?” She asked.
“Yeah, no. I’m f-fine,” Nash coughed out. “Stupid chair, got tangled in my feet....” He kicked it nearly getting tangled in it again.
“Yeeeesaahhh,” Emily said tiredly. “They always seem to like ankles and toes, huh? Just.... always in the way, at the worst times.” Her eyes closed again and she sighed half falling asleep right there. Nash averted his gaze awkwardly and Cisco smirked at him, Nash gave him a face instigating a silent argument between the two about him saying something before GP flew over and whistled at her waking her again. “Hmmm?” she said tiredly. GP whistled again and Emily groaned. “Nooo, don’t waaaanna move,” she said with another stretch. GP bonked her head and she sighed. “Ok, ok. Fine. I’ll go to bed.” With a huff, she pulled herself into a sitting position before hopping off her seat and heading out. Various farewells and well wishes were exchanged as they left one by one leaving Emily alone with Nash and Cisco. They stood awkwardly at the elevator door waiting for it to come back up, Cisco flicking his eyes in the direction of Emily trying to encourage Nash to say something and Nash refusing.
“Good night guys,” Emily said with a yawn when the elevator dinged. “Travel safe, ok?”
“Make sure nothing blows up, alright?” Cisco joked. She smiled tiredly. “Aww, no fun. And I was gonna try to make a star tonight.” Nash smiled recognizing a similar joke he made with Cisco. “I’ll make sure to hold down the fort,” she assured rubbing her eye as they stepped in. “I’m pretty good at keeping people out of places.” They waved as the doors closed, Nash watched as she turned, flicking her finger like you would a switch, and the lights going out one by one as she advanced down the hall. Cisco turned to face Nash with a disappointed look. “What?” Nash asked doing a double take.
“You need to tell her you like her already,” Cisco scolded.
“I don’t... like her,” Nash said attempting to brush off the accusation. “Why would you even think that?” Cisco’s face dropped unamused. “Yeah, ok. You are literally dripping in tension when you’re in the same room as her.”
“I am not!” Nash protests. “I’m chill.”
“You stare at her, you follow her, you ears get red when she looks at you.”
“I.... do not... What?” He turned to face Cisco as the doors opened. He rolled his eyes as he left, Nash close behind. “Pretty sure everyone knows. Well, maybe not Barry. But Wally does, Joe asked if you two were a thing, Iris knows....” Nash went quiet still following him. “I think Ralph may have a thing for her too but so far hasn’t had any luck.” He spun to face him and pointed a finger in his face. “Say, something. Anything. The awkward is getting unbearable.”
Nash stared at Cisco for a minute before the latter turned to leave, Nash took a long look back at the lab with a sigh. *I really should,* he thought. *But what do I say?*
——
The next day was business as usual, Emily had decided to get some practice in before everyone came in and had just finished when she passed Nash in the hall on her way to change. “Oh, hey Nash!” she greeted with a smile. Nash felt that familiar flush start to run up his neck when he saw her. He closed his eyes and muttered the only word he could think of. “Don’t...”
“Hmm?” Emily asked tilting her head to look him in the face. He opened his eyes making eye contact and used as much self control as he could muster to speak. “Don’t.... smile. At me.”
Emily paused in confusion. “What?”
“Don’t smile at me,” he repeated slowly beginning to regret his sentence choice. Emily blinked a few times just staring at him as she tried to understand. “Why...?”
“Because it’s stupid and makes me uncomfortable. And it’s annoying. Remember when I said you weren’t all that annoying? I lied. You’re more annoying than Ramon,” Nash blurted everything out before he realized what it was he was saying but fought to keep a straight face. Emily’s face was blank, shoulders dropped a little, and she stared confused at him. “Oh.... well..... ok.” She said softly. Nash felt his heart constrict in his chest. What had he done? She took a breath and looked him in the eye again, her facial features betraying hints of mischief. “Alright Nash, I’m sorry. I had no idea my smile could do that to you.” She placed a hand on his shoulder in mock concern making Nash a little suspicious. “I’m so glad you told me.”
“....You are?” Nash asked.
“Yes, yes, I am. From now on I won’t smile at you.”
“You.... won’t?”
“Nope. I’ll just smile at everyone and everything else instead,” Emily said fighting a smile. “Rest assured you’ll never see my troublesome smile again.”
“Ah...... good.....” Nash said trying to sound satisfied.
“See you later then,” Emily said before continuing on her way. Nash watched her go mildly panicking. “What just happened?” He asked no one in particular.
“You messed up, big time,” Sherloque answered from behind him. “How so?” Nash asked spinning around.
“Well, you heard her. She’ll still smile, just not at you,” Sherloque smirked. “But oh, she knows what you said wasn’t true. Not all of it anyway. She still may be a little concerned you find her annoying.”
“So, what will she do?”
“Exactly what she told you she would. Clever woman,” Sherloque mused. He smiled at Nash who still looked concerned. “She will, continue to smile, at everyone and thing other than you. And in doing so, knowing you don’t really find it uncomfortable, she will frustrate you.” He stands close to his face continuing to smile. “My, what a mess you’ve made. I do wonder how you’ll fix it.” He disappeared leaving Nash alone in the hallway again, completely and utterly uncertain about what to do now. “Oohhhh no....” he muttered to himself.
The rest of the day went on as normal, no one but Nash really noticing her slightly altered behavior though they did note he seemed a bit more frustrated than usual. She really did keep her word, taking care to never smile directly at him though that didn’t stop him from getting the smallest of glimpses. He found himself staring at her more often, and after three days he had nearly had enough.
He had found himself in the cortex, Barry was out and about as the Flash leaving Cisco, and Ralph there with him. He was tense and on edge knowing Emily could come in at any moment. He was too preoccupied to remember where she said she was going which only served to amp his anxiety. He tensed when he heard the familiar light tapping of footsteps drawing closer.
“Hey, I’m back!” A familiar voice called out. Nash refused to turn to meet her even as she walked over. She was wearing an oversized tank top, sport shorts, knee high socks and sneakers with her hair tied up. *Training,* he thought to himself. *That’s right, she wanted to practice for a while.* “Hey Cisco, Ralph. Hi Nash....” She smiled at Cisco and Ralph before dropping the facade to look at Nash. He clenched his jaw but kept his composure. “So, what are you up to?” She asked.
Cisco’s eyes darted from her face to Nash’s, before giving Ralph a look. “Not much....” he said. “Barry’s just doing his patrols, hasn’t come up with anything yet,” Ralph added walking awkwardly away.
“Hey, uh, Estrata,” Cisco called from the control desk. “Could you do me a favor?”
“Yeah sure, what’s up?” She asked cheerfully.
“The, satellites could use some maintenance. I can do general software updates from here but it’s difficult to do physical repairs. Could yoouuuu.....”
“Go check it out?” She finished for him. “My pleasure. I’ll take Tinker with me in case they need specialty parts.” She said smiling at the small drone flying into view. “Good idea. Yeah. Take.... take what ever you need and stay however long to. Fix things...” Cisco replied trying to sound as nonchalant as possible. “Be back in a jiffy!” She said with a grin before dropping it to look at Nash as she walked by. “Later.” They all watched and waited for her to leave the room before the two shot daggers at Nash with glares. “What?” He asked when he turned and saw their faces.
“What do you mean ‘what’?” Cisco asked near shouting. “She has been acting weird for the last few days,” Ralph added. “I don’t .... know..... what you mean,” Nash tried to dismiss. “You said something to her, didn’t you!” Cisco accused. “What did you say?!”
“I—I.... didn’t ......” Nash stuttered trying to avoid the unwanted confrontation. They stared each other down for a while before he relented. “Alright fine. I..... I did.... say something.....” he said rubbing the back of his neck. “Probably not the.... greatest thing...... in hindsight.....”
Cisco took a few steps forward still glaring. “Spill it.”
“I.... may have told her that..... she, uh, was..... annoying.....” Nash answered sheepishly. “You.... you what?” Cisco asked in disbelief. “You said what to her!?”
“You told me to say something to her. Anything, actually,” Nash tried to defend.
“Not that! Oh my— guh...” Cisco yelled throwing his hands in the air. Nash scratched his head like a child might when in trouble, being under all that scrutiny made his scalp really itchy. Ralph just stood there shaking his head. “You messed up, so bad,” he said.
“You don’t think I know?” Nash snapped back. “I got a lecture from a Wells as soon as she walked away!”
“You need to fix this,” Cisco said pointing again.
“How, Ramon? How?”
“I don’t know! But you have to do something! Smart, this time,” he glared, Nash glaring back at the ‘smart’ comment. “Because this?” he gestured around him, “This tension, is worse than your repressed tension. It sucks!”
“Hey Cisco,” Emily called over the relay. “Hey Es,” Cisco called back. “What ya got for me?”
“I’ve fixed a few cosmetic things, just scratches and dings from space debris, aaaaand I gave you a few new toys.” Cisco’s face lit up with a smile. “Ohhhh, new toys? Estrata, you spoil me.”
“Only cuz I like ya!” She responded with a giggle.
“Can’t imagine what you’d do for a special someone in your life,” Ralph commented shooting a look over to Nash. Nash clenched his jaw glaring back unenthusiastically. “Hmm, yeah. I’ve been told I get scary when I get serious or protective. Like, Mama Bear mode on steroids. So probably break a mountain in half. Or bake, I like brownies,” Emily rambled.
“.....Wait..... can you do that?” Ralph asked concerned. “Break a mountain?” Emily paused. “You know, never tried. But I did obliterate an asteroid one time.”
“Really?” This time Cisco asked.
“Yeah, but it was a small one. Like, maybe half a football field. And it was made out of a material similar to sandstone.”
“Thaaaat’s still pretty impressive,” Ralph stated impressed and a bit wary. “I know I could never do that.”
“Sure you could, you just gotta put your back into it!” She giggled, Ralph chuckling in return.
“So you gonna come back now?” Cisco asked glancing at Nash.
“Nah, not right now,” Emily replied with a sigh. “Been a while since I’ve just hung out in the deep black of the void, think I’ll chill for a while.” Nash’s shoulders dropped a bit hearing the news. As if he needed another contributor to his tension, now he had to wait for who knows how long. “Ok, take as much time as you need,” Cisco said still looking at Nash. “We’ll be here when you come back.”
“Ok, see you later then,” Emily said before closing the connection. Cisco crossed his arms and Ralph gave him a look, Nash stood stiff lost in thought. “Well, least now you have plenty of time to think of what to say,” Ralph commented before leaving. “You better make it good too,” Cisco warned before exiting as well, leaving Nash to stew for a while in uncertainty. *What to say....* he said to himself.
——
It was well into the evening when Emily made her way back to the lab. She casually strode down the halls humming to herself when she came across Nash and nearly bumped into him. “Oh! Oh, hi Nash,” she said looking up at him.
“H-hi.... Estrata,” Nash smiled awkwardly. “What brings you skulking around here so late?” She asked putting a hand on her hip. “I uh, I.... have something...... I’ve been meaning to, tell you....” he said trying to figure out the words as he went. “Oh? You do?” She said sounding intrigued. He nodded his head looking at his feet. “Uh huh, yeah.” He paused still staring at the ground and shifted his weight from one foot to the other. “I lied... earlier.... wheeeen I said you were..... annoying......” he started. “You did?” She asked relaxing a little. Nash nodded again. “I did. I actually don’t, find you annoying that is. I uh, really like your company. A lot.” He peeked up to look her in the eye, the flush building like before. “Well then, why did you say that?” Emily asked, face softening as he spoke.
“I don’t..... I don’t know..... I....” Nash ran his hands through his hair in frustration and started pacing around. “You..... don’t know?” she asked in confusion. “I..... I don’t, have the words...” Nash said pausing and rubbing his chin. He stood quiet for a moment before turning to look at her again. “Maybe.... I don’t need words.....” he muttered to himself.
“What was tha—“ Emily’s sentence was cut off by Nash, who took three quick strides toward her, cupped her face and nearly rammed his face into hers with a kiss. Emily stood stunned, clearly not expecting this turn of events at all, and could only stare wide eyed into space. Once he broke the kiss he looked her in the eyes, thumb gently running over her cheek. “Wha...?” Emily started to ask. “Truth is, you make it incredibly difficult not to do that,” he says with a smile. “Especially, when you smile.”
Emily’s lips slowly pulled into a soft smile before mischievous tones bled in. “Hmmm, I’m not sure I got all that.” Nash raised an eyebrow smirking at her before placing another kiss on her lips. Emily chuckled after he broke the kiss again. “Gee, I dunno.... if I understand..... you may have...... to repeat.... that......” she said with a giggle, Nash taking the obvious opportunity to kiss her over and over while she spoke. They stood for a moment, smiling at each other like idiots, when they heard someone walk around the corner.
“Oh my god, FINALLY!” a voice said loudly from behind them. Emily gripped Nash’s shirt pulling him close as she tried to bury herself into him in embarrassment. Her face was beat red and eyes wide as Cisco briskly walked by. “Now if you two could do something about the other obvious tension you have, that’d be perfect,” he said pointing a finger first at Nash, then Emily who was trying very hard to hide her face. Cisco smiled at Nash, who gave him a wink, before walking away to a lab somewhere. They stood quiet for a minute before he rubbed her back and drew her into a hug enveloping her petite frame. She relaxed nestling into him a bit with a deep sigh. “So....” she began looking up at him. “What’s this ‘other tension’ Cisco was on about?”
“Oh, uh, I uh....” Nash coughed. “Not sure, actually.” She pouted suspiciously at him raising an eyebrow, keeping the stare made his ears rather red. “Mhmm......” she smirked. “Then I guess there’s nothing to ‘take care of’ and no real reason for a sleepover or anything....” she said slipping away. “I’m tired anyway, should probably just go to be—“ her words were cut off by Nash grabbing her from behind in a tight hug causing her to squeak. “Ok ok! I’ll stop teasing” she giggled. “But you’re kinda cute when you’re frustrated.”
Nash raised an eyebrow. “So are you telling me, this was a bad idea?” He asked close to her ear. “Noooooo.....” she said trying to hide the goosebumps. “Just..... think of it as an adventure. You do like adventures, right?” She asked grinning at him. He paused looking thoughtfully at her. “You know, now that I think of it. This might be one of the better ones.”

Headcanon : Celebrate Valentine’s day with the Wells
Author note : I know this wasn’t on my list but I couldn’t stop thinking about that so here we go hope you’re going to enjoy it !
It may have been a lot longer for Harry my apologize  : I am going to include Eowells too cause why not ?
I hope HR wasn’t too OOC it took me time to write his part cause I haven’t seen season 3 since a long time ago
i do not own those gifs so credit to owners
Warning : slight mention of NSFW / I tried to be gender neutral
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eobard Thawne as Harrison Wells
At the very beginning of the week he didn’t plan to celebrate Valentin’s day. Its not like he doesn’t love his kitten
Buuuut they weren’t a part of his plan and yet he let them be a part go his life. However they couldn’t stop him from his plan : especially when he was so close to go home
Yet let’s say some people (Cisco) decided to decorate the whole lab with a lot a of Heart a cute cupidon and also some sweets like chocolat
It wasn’t wrong to say the whole mood was oriented about Valentin’s day
So do you
You weren’t a huge / desperate romantic like some membre of the team flash (we’re talking about you Barry & Cisco) but it was good to say you were pretty excited.
It will be your first Valentin’s day with Harrison Wells your amazing boyfriend. Since all the things who happen to him you though he deserves some good quality time
And of course being the good calculator he was Eobard knows about that. The way you were so excited and so focus to prepare the most precious day for him has definitely melt his heart
He just couldn’t not celebrate that with you.
Spoil is the key word
He gave you so many gifts and compliments : Eobard has dedicated the whole day to you : literally
it all started with a cute breakfast a lot of cuddle before going to work
Blow a wink time to time
Sharing a coffee
A lot of holding hand and knuckle’s kiss when no one was watching
You thought Barry could be gross with his PDA ? Think about it, It’s like both of you were the only one on earth
You definitely have a big belly burger together (he even share his fry with you)
He bought you a gorgeous ring which he gave you with a red rose
A lot flirting this day more than usual
And then the night begin
You were so nervous about the meal but you work so hard (he saw you) you wanted everything to be perfect for him
Classical music candle a dress (he will never the way that dress was good on you). The dinner was nothing but sweet like the day
« It’s really delicious Y/N I do not deserve you »
« Thank you but it’s not a big deal »
« Don’t Y/N it was »
After a good day fighting meta you definitely deserve a cute night together
Like I said the day was dedicated to you : so be ready for a night of love about you
WORSHIP/100
You made sweet love this night
And at the end of the night he gave you the most precious gift
3 words
« I love you Y/N »
He means it
You will probably question his sincerity in the futur
But he was
Tumblr media
Earth 2 Harrisson grumpy wells
Not all people know that : But Harry is actually a romantic dude
Of course he claimed he wasn’t « I am not a teenager anymore Ramon »
But we know better
Despite his 7 phd he couldn’t organise the day. Not that he sucks about organization quite contrary
But all he wants was to make the better Valentin’s day you never have,  cause deep down he was still selfconcious about your relationship
I mean you were so incredible gorgeous …
And he was him grumpy and a DAD
Not that you mind
But still he couldn’t erase the feeling on his heart : he doesn’t deserve you
So during the whole week before the big day he was tensed. Like more than usual : Let’s say he was grumpy x 10000
He took two days to Cisco to realize what’s going on (cause he was sick to work and being hurted by a marker every time). Since he knows his friends he decided to confront him directly
First Harry denies everything « I am angry because you weren’t work harder enough » « I’ve the feeling it’s something about th 14th February » « I don’t know what you’re talking about Ramon »
After a argument or two about how stubborn he can be Harry confess : Yes the reason he was so tensed and so grumpy was you he wanted everything to be perfect and he may stress him too much. Cisco listen all the thing and give him a simple advice “be yourself” which Harry thought was ridiculous what does that even mean ?
And then you came by his side knowing by team flash your boyfriend was upset about something. Which definitely concern you.
when he saw you coming for him to cheer him up that he understands what Cisco wanted to mean
So your day was pretty simple and yet unforgettable
First when you wake up Harry was still by your side to cuddle with you (while other time he prepares himself to go working). You guys have breakfast on the bed close to each other talking about everything
You take a hot shower together (and I am not talking about the temperature of the water)
Both of you go to work and then have a big belly burger together
Then the night begin
Before leaving your job you saw a text on your phone : « let’s celebrate properly go to see the box in your bedroom ». Curiosity help you to go faster on your home. You saw a gorgeous velvet dress with a necklace that look expansive
Then you got another text « I’ll take you at 7pm ». Which leave you one hour to make yourself pretty for this mysterious night
And as planned Harry was at your home at 7pm with a particular thing on his hand and his gorgeous suit with white shirt : it was a vibe’s tool to go to his earth.
In fact he planned to spend the whole night with you on his earth. Your date was really cute : first he took you to a very famous restaurant on his earth not without showing you in compliment then you have walked on a parc which was illuminated by the light of the stars.
Both of you have nothing but love for each other
When you go home the celebration begin : Since he wasn’t good with his words especially when it was about feeling he decided to show you how much you mean to him in bed
You were never that satisfied before
Sure Harry was an amazing lover
But this night was different it was like he was saying all of his love by every touch every kiss every caress was a way to say «  I love you »
He loves you like he thought he couldn’t anymore
After this passionate night you talk about the day especially how sweet he was and how you didn’t deserve his kindness to you
« Don’t be silly Y/N you’re my everything … *blush* I-I mean with Jesse too »
He may wasn’t confortable with showing his feeling but when he does it worths it `
Tumblr media
HR Wells
Unlike Harrison and Harry it’s been a whole month Since HR knows how to spend the day with you
He has already bought your gift planned the meal etc
He just couldn’t wait but to be at 14th
With Cisco and other membre of team flash he decided to make a full decoration for the big day. A lot of heart everywhere much to Harry’s chagrin (too childish according to him)
You barely go into Star labs that you saw a big bouquet of rose on your desk with a lovely note « to my lovely Y/N the person I couldn’t live without »
But that was just foreplay
HR goes as fast as he could to Jitters to create your own (favorite drink) and then go back to star lab with
« Oooh HR this is way to sweet how did you call it ? » « Sweet Y/n »
Your heart couldn’t melt more at this poin. But that’s wasn’t enough. After working on a huge physics problem for Harry you felt two heavy and yet fluffy arm on your back : it was a big teddy bear wearing the same hat as HR « I thought he could be there with you when I am working with team flash like a number 2 » « no one can remplace you HR but thanks he is pretty”
But gift wasn’t enough to express all the love he has for you so HR cook you a delicious date meal for your lunch time. Which was incredible « I didn’t even know you can cook » « I am full of surprise *wink* »
Basically you spend the whole day cuddle and flirting. It was a way too PDA even for Barry/Iris so you were temporarily exclude from work
It gave you a lot of time if you know what I mean
Beside the whole passion time
It gave a lot of time to make a lot of activity
Going to the carousel together taking a lot of photo
Eat a ton of toffee apple
Watch a romantic movie at theatre
Go shopping (please he would do anything to admire you by any angle while wearing dress or even better lingerie)
Then you go on an intimate restaurant you never eat before
It was both chil intimate and quite romantic : lot of color led some velvet chair
By the end you go home with a lot of star on your eyes because of this sweet day with your boyfriend
«  I love you HR »
« I love you too Y/N »
Tumblr media
Sherloque
So apparently French people is seen as romantic
Not sure if he could be described as romantic
Let’s say he has is own version of romanticism
He already prove with his ex wife that he could be a mess when it was about showing emotion by action
But for you he decided it won’t be the same
« Cisco mon ami, could you help me with the way you express l’amour here? » « Wait what ? Are you asking me advice about seduction » « yeah you still crying about your breakup  nevermind » « ok fair Sherlock » « SherloQUE » « Yeah yeah nevermind how about buy them something they like cooking meal just enjoying a chill day no Cicada no case to solve you know ? Just FOCUS on her ? »
So did he
While you were busy chatting with other girl he took advantage of it and go to central city for some shopping
Bought you everything that remind him you : black lace lingerie (not sure if it was for his pleasure or yours), camellia, book that you once said want to read , chocolat, and some toys for the night
He made a gorgeous box with he put on your bed and then proceed to text you « Let’s celebrate Valentin’s day together xoxo SherloQUE »
You got the text while taking to Cisco even though he couldn’t see your phone he just give you the « go have fun girl » smile
When you back to your home you saw a lot of rose petal on your stairs to what you believe was your bedroom
So you play the game and follow those petals
You weren’t ready for this
When you went to your bedroom you were hit by the glorious picture of your boyfriend : Sherloque was laying on your bed shirtless with nothing but his pant on there were some candle and your Buch of camellia
You were taken aback by this picture : the way he looks so hot and yet so adorable
All you thought was to take your cloth and jump to him. But he stopped you
« Go see the bathroom mon amour »
Which you did without a second thought
You found the sexy lingerie he bought earlier and some oil
When you went back to the bedroom with nothing but the underwear and the oil it was Sherloque’s turn to be breathtaking by your glorious figure
« Tu es magnifique »
You were sure a blush mess at this point but nevermind
You joined Sherloque for the most intimate night you both share
After literally broke the bed
Sherloque dedicated the day to you as Cisco say to him he has to focus on you and only you which he did. And it was gladly appreciate
You know your boyfriend loves you but sometimes he got super excited by a case he may forgot to give you attention
So when he told you he’ll spend the whole night chilling with you
You knew he was the one
You decided to watch a lot of movie and série about murder and investigation just to see your boyfriend get super excited and focus about it. Plus he tends to cuddle you a lot when you watch movie together
You read a lot of book and initiative him to Harry Potter and some video games
By the end of the Day sherloque wanted to surprise you by cooking the meal. Despite the whole smoking it was good
Before going to bed for some sleep he took your hand and look at you right in your eyes
« Y/N I know sometimes I may have been too focus on the case mais I want you to know that je t’aime I mean I love you like a lot I-I thought I will always be miserable in love but you prove me I was wrong and for once it felt good »
Here the translation for Sherloque :
Mon ami : my friends
L’amour : love
Mon amour : my love
Tu es magnifique : you are gorgeous or You are breathtaking
Je t’aime : I love you
I hope you have a beautiful day with your significant other or on your own enjoying your life ! It’s actually 11 pm for me I am super tired but wanted to writing it down and publish it so I hope you enjoy it too ! ♡

The Flash 7x01
Well there is much to unpack there, and I think the main reason they did choose the episode before that as the ending for Season 6 was the Wells-Thing, because boy ... way to antagonize a fandom.
I mean, we all know Tom is not gone for good. I guess he was supposed to come back a Eobard for Season 7 originally. But what they are going to do with him now, remains to be seen.  In theory there could be a Wells, who for some reason was either not on Earth Prime and lands there at a later point or was for whatever reason not effected by Nash existing (maybe Nash condition did protect him and that potential other Wells from death). Or now all the Wellses are part of the New Speed Force and this is how  he comes back.
Well, of course I did not see this coming, but I should have. This was always what Nash’s Arc was going since after Crisis, however I think the strange thing is it being Episode 20 rather than the Season Finale, so this is why everyone was called so off guard.
But imagine the amount of people, who did sit on that thing since the shutdown of production almost a year ago!!!! That must have been hard.
Now, while I understand people having issues with all of that (bringing H.R. back only to kill him again, Cisco and Caitlin being not there in Harrys last moments etc.) my real issue was Sam Scudder.
Because if you do count Harry’s and Sherloque’s Original Deaths (for which this episode makes up in many ways) Scudder is the seventh confirmed major character, who did die during Season 6 either per Body Double or Off Screen, and the fact that it is now technicially Season 7 does not make it better (the other’s being Gypsy, Jesse, Harry, Barry and Iris from Earth-2 and Sherloque - and this does not include Breacher and Renee who are probably dead as well), And this practice is starting to annoy me, to be honest, and I am not to overjoyed with Eric Wallace as the showrunner because of this among other things. It’s not all his fault (I don’t think anyone ever really thought the effects of Crisis properly through to be honest, they just did it, Because Comics as Drake would say, in both the Original Comic and the Adaption, which could have been way worse, if wouldn’t have just killed of all the old Arrowverse Verses but this was enough to be honest).
It’s not that I did not enjoy this episode. It’s just that I really don’t like this part of Eric Wallace writing style, and it also does not give me hope for the whole Ralph-thing, because like we learned: His style basically is: if an obstacle pops up, it is just ignored and dealt with quickly so the story can move past it and I just don’t appreaceate this.
(On the other hand OG-Scudder should actually still be in the Mirror Verse, but I don’t think they are ever going there, unless the twist is that “Eva” is actually the real Scudder, which would be cool, but I don’t think they would go there, like ever).

PROLOGUE | CHAPTER 1
Tumblr media
Birds tweeting, sun shining…
Big strong arms around you.
“Well, well, Wells,” you say with a scratchy morning voice and twist your body around in bed to see who’s got you in his grasp. Ah. “Good morning, Harry.”
“Good morning, (Y/L/N),” the scientist replies. You just love how strands of his hair stick up in place. Harry arguably has the best bedhead.
“You know dear, since we are married after all, don’t you think it would be more acceptable to call me by my first name?”
Harry chuckles and pulls you closer against him.
“You do raise a fair point. (Y/N).”
“That’s more like it.”
He kisses your nose. Shortly after he does, it starts to feel itchy. You feel like you’re about to sneeze. It wiggles and wiggles until—
“Achoo!”
Suddenly, Harry, who had been clad in his silky pyjamas is now- oh my.
“(Y/N), did you just sneeze my clothes away?”
You can hardly answer the Wells in your bed because you’re so enthralled by his lack of clothing under the sheets.
“Happy accident?” you offer innocently. Harry shakes his head and smiles as if to signify that you’re up to your old antics again.
“Come here, you,” he says and pulls the covers over you both.
* * * *
The scene is really quite comical.
Harry walks briskly with his long legs into work at S.T.A.R. Toys Manufacturing Inc. as you try to keep up with quick little steps and a clipboard… while H.R. trails behind you like a maniac with a tray of coffee.
“(Y/N), I believe you have some explaining to do,” Harry speaks to you over his shoulder. “Can you remind me why you’re at work with me? And why the numbskull, too?”
“Handsome numbskull!” H.R. jokingly clarifies. Harry rolls his eyes.
“I told you, honey,” you begin, “I decided it would be best for me to get a job instead of sitting around the house. Plus, an assistant here was the only position available. I thought that was terribly convenient. We can spend more time together now, isn’t that wonderful? As for H.R., I hired him as my assistant!”
“My assistant has an assistant?”
“Don’t question it, honey,” you tell him and pat him on the cheek. Just then, two young employees walk up to you. They look rather familiar, but you can’t place why at the moment.
“Good morning, Mr. Wells,” the pair greet Harry. “And Mrs. Wells. ...And Mr. Wells.”
“Ah, good morning Garcia. Runk,” Harry answers. “I trust your projects are coming along?”
“That they are, Sir,” the young man called Runk replies.
“We should have them finished and ready by end of day,” Garcia, the young woman, adds.
“I’m glad to hear it-”
“-Well done, chaps!” H.R. interrupts. “You’re all doing such magnificent work. All for the children.”
“All for the children,” Garcia and Runk agree.
Harry clears his throat and whispers to you, “I think assistants to the assistants should be seen and not heard.”
“I’ll have a little chat with him,” you tell your handsome boss husband. “Now, let’s build some toys!”
* * * *
After a long day at the factory, you, Harry, and H.R. all return home. The delicious scent of dinner greets you as you walk in the door.
“Mmm, I wonder what Sherloque and Nash are cooking up!” you think out loud.
“I hope it’s nothing French,” Harry says semi-bitterly.
“H.R., can you go see what they’re up to in there, sweetie?”
“I most certainly can, dearest!” he responds then disappears into the kitchen. You are sure to take this opportunity to have some more one-on-one time with Harry on the couch. As you sit, he sets his briefcase down on the coffee table and removes from it a small rocket ship. After turning it around in his hands, Harry hands it to you.
“I’d been working on this today,” he says.
“Oh Harry, it is so groovy. You do such fine work.”
“The idea came to me in a dream.”
“You make dreams come true for children every day.”
Harry turns to you. “I think I’ve always wanted kids. But I guess it’s never happened for me.” He looks into your eyes. “I think I’d like to have one with you someday, (Y/N). How do you feel about that?”
“I feel… I feel…” Your nose starts to wiggle again. “Achoo!”
“(Y/N), are you sure you’re feeling okay?”
“Oh, yes, I’m completely and totally, whoaaaa!” You stand up to get a better look at yourself, finding that your tummy has a noticeable roundness to it.
“Are you…?” Harry asks. The rest of the Wells men come rushing into the living room.
“Qu’est-ce qui se passe?”
“I heard another sneeze!”
“Jumping juniper, (Y/N)’s pregnant!”
They all group around you in a half-circle to admire your belly and to declare their delight at the very abrupt surprise.
“Is this really happening?” you ask all of them, falling deeper and deeper into your happiness.
“I couldn’t imagine a better life with you,” Harry says and punctuates his final word with a kiss. Everything about this moment just seems… so much more colourful and vibrant.
And perfect.
~ ~ ~ ~
Barry had urgently messaged Cisco and Caitlin to meet him back at the Grand Central City Auditorium, where they had just seen Zatanna’s magic act. The plan—what very little of a plan he had—was to race to find Zatanna, the Mistress of Magic, and ask for her help.
Word on the street was that Miss Zatara’s act wasn’t mere illusions. People have said that she really does possess a special magical power. And if this was the case, she was their only hope to retrieve you from whatever world you’ve gotten yourself into.
They say sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.
Well, now Team Flash is going to fight magic with magic.
It took a bit of making a scene inside the venue with the security guards for Zatanna to finally come out of her dressing room to see who was causing the commotion.
“Hi, excuse me, what’s going on here?”
“Zatanna? My name is Barry Allen,” your brother introduces himself. “I was at your show tonight.”
“Flawless,” Cisco can’t help but add.
“Sure,” she says, probably very much wanting him to get to the point. “How can I help you, Barry Allen?”
“We have a bit of a magical issue. My sister has gotten herself into a situation. We need your help.”
Zatanna’s big round eyes squint slightly, but whatever she sees in these three strangers surely isn’t threatening.
“Your sister, you say?” The Mistress of Magic always did have a soft spot for family. “Where is she?”
“You better come with us and see for yourself.”
~ ~ ~ ~
“Wow, this is quite the setup,” Zatanna says, taking in the Cortex upon her arrival. “Now, you said that your sister is broadcasting her own sitcom?”
“That’s right,” Barry confirms. “I switched on the TV earlier, and there she was in black and white. But the weird thing is that her set looked almost identical to her home, except not because her real home exploded-”
“Yeah, that’s the weird bit,” Cisco pipes up sarcastically. “Definitely not that she’s married to four different versions of the same man.”
“What?” Zatanna looks entirely confused. “Okay, you guys are going to have to catch me up.”
“No problem. The episode is streaming online. On repeat.”
“Cisco, pull up the show on the monitors,” Barry orders. The engineer does so, and the crew proceeds to analyze the sitcom episode.
“This man... or these men, rather—you said they died?” Zatanna asks the room. The rundown the gang gave her on the way to S.T.A.R Labs was quite rushed, so naturally it would only generate more questions.
“That’s right. I saw them disappear before my eyes,” Barry confirms. “They sacrificed themselves for us.”
Zatanna hums in thought. “Whether they’re truly dead or not, she must be using an incredible amount of magic to create this world and broadcast this across the airwaves.”
“Guys!” Caitlin raises her voice. “We have an incoming broadcast!”
The monitors change after a bit of static. Now, instead of the episode Team Flash was watching, a brand new jingle comes through the speakers.
“Is this…?” Barry starts.
“She released Episode Two!” Cisco cheers. Everyone in the room shoots him a look. “What? I’m invested.” As they watch the new episode, they take frantic notes, searching for any kind of clues.
“Look!” Barry points at the screen to the familiar faces.
“How did Allegra and Chester get in there?” Caitlin wonders.
“They have a guest-starring role…” Cisco notes, possibly with a hint of jealousy.
“And who are they?” Zatanna inquires.
“They’re our friends,” Barry clarifies. “At least, I think they are. They can't be illusions, can they? Created by (Y/N)?”
“I’ll call them and see if we can hear their phones ringing in the show,” Caitlin suggests. As she attempts the call, the rest of the team stands and stares at the screens hoping for some form of ringing sound. This episode seemed to be styled more in the Sixties, so it was unlikely that they’d actually see Chester and Allegra pull out a cell phone.
Nothing. No sound.
They must not have their phones on them…
A little while longer passes, with even more analyses by Team Flash and Zatanna studying your power on screen. Once in a while, she’ll ask Barry for background information about you. Which brings her to ask the all important question:
“How did (Y/N) get her powers?”
Barry goes on to explain your origin story, which coincides with his own. It was that one fateful night where Barry was in his CSI lab at CCPD, and so were you. You had stopped by to see how he was doing after the whole debacle of Iris getting her laptop stolen and Eddie saving the day instead. (To Barry’s credit, he tried really hard to catch the criminal, he just wasn’t fast enough). But you were checking up on him when the Particle Accelerator exploded and sent a wave of extraordinary, uncontained power across the city. You saw the lightning in the sky and tried to get Barry away from holding that metal chain, but in doing so, you also got caught in the crosshairs of the accident. Your brother fell into the shelf of chemicals as the lightning struck at the same time you knocked over a box of evidence—stolen ancient crystals from the Central City Museum.
Zatanna takes in the story silently, nodding in the right places. She’s deep in thought when a voice comes from the entrance to the Cortex: “Hey guys, what’s going on in here?”
Barry rushes to the two younger members of Team Flash, Allegra and Chester. “How did you two get in there? How did you get out?”
“Get in where?” Allegra wonders.
“Come on! In (Y/N)’s sitcom,” Cisco says. “Did she send out a casting call or did she just tell you that you got the parts?”
Chester and Allegra glance at each other with identical furrowed brows.
“You really don’t know what happened, do you?” Caitlin asks them.
“What happened?” they reply in unison.
Cisco stands up immediately. “I’ll get the popcorn.”
As he replays the footage, both of the ‘guest stars’ shake their heads in disbelief.
“Wow, nope, don’t remember any of that,” Chester says.
“No,” Allegra agrees. “One minute I’ve got my feet up in the Lounge, and the next I’m here walking into the Cortex.”
“Interesting,” Caitlin muses. “Interesting, but beyond strange. It’s like they’ve been mind wiped of the experience. We need more answers.” The rest of the episode plays out to reveal the big cliffhanger at the end.
“(Y/N)’s going to have a baby?!” Cisco shouts. “Oh man, things just got real. I wonder who’s the father... You don’t think (Y/N) would turn her show into a Maury episode, do you?”
“Zatanna, is there anything you can do?” Barry asks desperately. “This is getting out of hand.”
“I can cast a locating spell. All I have to do is say the words of what I wish backward for it to take hold.” Zatanna readies herself. “(N/Y) etacol,” the magician utters with her eyes closed. Everyone in the room stands silent in case making any kind of noise would ruin whatever spell she has cast.
They hold their breaths.
“I’m getting something…” Zatanna says eventually. “It’s like a signal of sorts. I can see it in my mind. And it’s coming from… here.”
“What do you mean, ‘here’?” Barry presses.
“Here. As in S.T.A.R. Labs.”

. . .
Your footsteps take you down the halls of STAR Labs in alert. Caitlin had sent a startled call revealing a new meta had attacked not just Barry, but Ralph and Cisco, and Cisco had been injured to where his powers were lost.
Your breaths are short as you make it to the cortex, one hand at your stomach as the other rested on the door, Dante looking up from where he and Nora sat at the control panel, “Mom,”
“Where’s your father?” You heave, Dante standing to gesture to Caitlins lab, your figure moving past him and into said lab with sore feet,
“This is definitely Dark Matter, but these levels of concentration are unlike any dark matter levels I’ve seen before,” Caitlin steps back upon your arrival, her eyes moving causing Cisco to look up from his wrapped hands, face relaxing when he sees you,
“What the hell happened?” You demand, moving in front of Cisco to take one of his hands, staring down at where the palm had been patched,
“I’m okay,” Cisco reassures, and you look up to his face, eyes narrowed,
“That’s not what I asked, and I know you’re lying,”
His eyebrows flick up testingly, where you- barely- press you finger to his palm, his hand jerking away as he hissed, glaring at you in irritation,
“Ow! Don’t- do that!” He demands, and you mock his eyebrow raise, glancing to Caitlin,
“How bad is it?”
“The cuts are pretty deep. But they should heal in a few weeks, give or take,” She nods, Cisco huffing and drops his hands to rest at your stomach,
“I’ll be fine. I swear,” He assures, where you put your hands overtop his, nodding, lightly,
“Hey guys?” Barry calls, your head turning towards the Cortex so Cisco tapped your stomach with his fingers, letting you step back so he could stand up,
“We have a big problem,” Barry states, pointing to Iris,
“I just talked to Captain Singh and he said that Gridlock was killed during his transport to Iron Heights,”
“Gridlocks dead?” Dante asks, arms crossed as he looks to Nora,
“How?” Caitlin asks,
“Not sure,” Iris sighs, “I interviews everyone that was there and no one knows. But I did some digging...” She nods to the TV screen so you turned, eyes staring at the fallen video camera, followed by heavy breathing,
“What is that?” You ask, shortly, looking to Cisco,
“Sounds like the guy who just attacked us,” Ralph answers, your eyebrows raising in question,
“Attacked you? Is that thing even human?”
“Yes,” Nora nods, turning, “Cicada,”
“Who’s Cicada?”
. . .
“We never catch him?”
“Probably because he can take everyone’s powers with the dagger that basically sliced Cisco’s hand,” You try, Dante nodding,
“So we’re basically dealing with a Jack the Ripper,” Cisco sighs, leaning on the back of your chair, “Amazing,”
“What else do you know about him?” You ask, hand reaching to grasp Cisco’s at your upper arm,
“Just that he...,” Nora pauses, “He’s early,”
“What do you mean, early?” Barry asks,
“In our history, Cicadas first victim was a meta named Floyd Belkin. He never killed Gridlock, or Block, completely different victims,” Dante answers.
“Because the timeline changed,” Barry states
“There’s no telling what kind of effect this made to the timeline, or why kind of future Nora and Dante are going to go back to,” You inform, “We need to catch this Cicada guy, fast,”
“You mean catch the guy future us can’t catch?” Cisco asks, hand pulling from yours to rub at the palm, “Right, I thought beating the thinker was hard,”
. . .
“So your plan is to contact Herr Wells?”
You stand with your hands curled under your stomach, eyes staring at Nora and Dante beside each other, Iris and Barry at their sides,
“I know in the future you guys never bring in a Wells to help you catch Cicada,” Nora nods, “So if you want a different result this time,”
“We try something new,” You nod, Nora glancing at you with a smile,
“It’s a great idea,” Barry shrugs with a grin, and you look over when Cisco steps next to you, eyes on his phone,
“‘Cept it’s not,” He mutters, your brows furrowing as Barry leans to look at him,
“What?”
“It’s a terrible idea,” Cisco looks up from his phone, shaking his head, “If you’re looking for cooperation, trust me, this is not your guy,” He huffs, eyes back on his phone, “He is just an asshat,”
“Don’t be harsh,” You order, Cisco looking at you in disbelief,
“I’m sorry, I’m being harsh?”
“Yes,” You nod, your husband nodding back and gesturing to the communication device on the table
“Go ahead, call him, see if you don’t get a steaming pile of side-eye,”
“You’re being dramatic, Cis,” You shake your head, watching Nora press a few buttons before the hologram of an older Harrison Wells appears, turning with a scoff,
“The Flash,” You hear Cisco scoff next to you,
“Wait for it,”
“I love the Flash,” Herr Wells swoons, and you grin as Barry smiles, “Oh, you Barry Allen, yah? With the zoom, zoom, and the defy the physic laws and gravity, always with some style and Grace, yah,”
“Thanks, man,” Barry laughs, shaking his head,
“Das Kinder Flash,” Herr Wells gasps, hands together as he looks to Nora, “Child of the Flash.”
His eyes quickly move to you, where you smile in greet, “Sister Flash, of course!” He cheers, Cisco looking up from his phone with a glare, “Raving in your natural beauty, carrying a child, no?”
“I am, thank you,” You smile, glancing to Dante, “But, listen, we need your help capturing a meta human serial killer, Cicada?”
“Unfortunately I’m otherwise occupied, unable to assist you at this time,”
“You can’t?” Nora pleas,
“Nein,” Herr answers, shaking his head once, so you frowned in disappointment, “But I have done one better and called someone who can, this man is a legend, this man is the greatest detective in all the Multiverse, so I’ve attached his coordinates if you want to look at them,”
You nod as Nora leans into her computer, “Okay, got them,”
Iris looks up and over at Cisco behind her, eyebrows raised knowingly,
“What? You want me to breach him here?” Cisco snips, holding up his bandaged hands, “Hello? I just got Benihana’d. Hurts a little bit. Why don’t we just breach him here the old fashioned way?”
“Thank you, Herr Wells,” You hand Cisco the small device, smiling brightly, “This is great,”
“Privilege and an honor to help you, Flash, and Sister Flash, bye, Kinder Flash, and, Sister Flash, good luck on baby Flash,” Herr winks to Dante, vanishing from his spot,
“Okay, you know what, let’s just get this master detective out here,” Cisco mumbles, sticking out the extrapolator in front of him so a breach formed, a shadowed figure appearing almost instantly,
Your brows furrow as a Harrison Wells with sunglasses step out, Cisco lowering his arm, “Well,” The Wells starts, pulling off his jacket, “I imagined your earth would be colder. Harrison Sherloque Wells at your service, I’m here to catch your killer,”
. . .
A small hum from the television in front of you begins to lull you asleep. The apartment is empty as Cisco and Dante were both still at the labs, so when you hear the small creak of the floorboards, your body is wide awake and on high alert,
You sit up and glance over your shoulder, eyes slowly scanning the dark kitchen connected to the living room, hoping and praying you wouldn’t spot any movement,
The small, orange glow feet behind you indicates that Cicadas dagger was present, the dagger rising showing that cicada, too, was there,
“Cicada,” You whisper, hand slowly reaching out to your phone next to you, eyes watching as the man stepped forward, into the lighting of the television.
“Where is Vibe?” He asks, questionably, eyes narrowed under his mask as you swallow, free hand under your stomach,
“I don’t know who Vibe is,” You answer, calmly, slowly rising to stand, “I wouldn’t know where he is,”
“Don’t lie!” Cicada jerking forward causes you to push to your feet, knees hitting the coffee table so you stumbled, catching yourself with the wall behind the television, eyes wide in alert, “Tell me where Vibe is, and I might let you live,”
“I don’t know who Vibe is!” You shriek, feeling a tightness in your stomach, “Please, I don’t,”
“You’re going to have a lovely family, Miss Ramon,” Cicada says, lowly, stepping forward as you curl a hand under your stomach, body sinking to squat down, hand clutching your phone to your side, “Id hate to take away your husband, too,”
“Please, I don’t know who Vibe is,” You plea, eyes glimmering with tears. You force your thumb to press the alert button, sniffling as you drop your phone next to you,
Cisco looks over from his goggles at the beep of his phone, his eyes staring at the alert screen before he picks up the device, scanning the pinpointed address before his eyes widen, pushing to stand up and grab his suit,
Barry looks at Iris in alert at his own phone, speeding off so he skid to a stop in the living room of your apartment, your head ducked as you hiccup, “He has Cisco,” You choke out, and look up, “Barry,” Your brother moves forward, sinking down so he saw where your grey leggings were soaked, “My water broke,”
. . .
“Guys,” Barry speeds to a stop in the middle of the cortex, body tilted to hold you up as your hand clutched at your shirt, “Y/Ns going into labor,”
“What?” Barry hears Cisco hiss into his earpiece, Iris looking up from where she leaned over the control panel, “She’s six weeks early!”
“Cicada must have triggered it,” Barry let’s Caitlin- who showed up quickly once Barry first contacted her- move you to her lab, “Cisco, where are you?”
“I don’t know!” Cisco panics, looking around at the trees, “Some forest- is Y/N okay?”
“Caitlins got her,” Iris reassures, “Can you breach here?”
“Have you forgotten that my hands are fucked up?” Cisco shoots back, “God- dammit. Y/N, hold on! I’m coming!”
“I hear field crickets,” Sherloque hums, Barry pinching his brows, ignoring your cry of pain, “I know where he is,” He is quick to speed off, Nora following in quick steps behind him, Dante bouncing on his feet before disappearing, too.
“Okay, Y/N,” Caitlin breathes, hands at your knees as you pinch your eyes shut, opening your eyes to stare at a spot on the ceiling, “You’re ready to start pushing,”
“Without Cisco?” You heave, lifting your head, “How- I can’t, Cait,”
“Y/N, you can,” Your best friend encourages, “And you will. Now I need you to take a deep breath okay? And push with my counts,”
. . .
Despite all the commotion in the cortex, your eyes seem steady on the wrapped bundle on your chest. Your breaths had evened out- despite the headache in your temple and the paint in your thighs- smile light in awe,
“Caitlin, I’m fine!” Cisco’s shout causes you to look up, seeing him pull his arm- which had a gash at the shoulder- away from the doctor, his eyes flicking to you, “Dante,”
You hold a finger to your lips and smile, Cisco moving up to you with his hand at the gash, his eyes flicking from you to the infant, who shifts at the sudden voices,
Cisco exhales a laugh, your eyes shifting to his shoulder with a slight frown, “Cisco,”
“I’m okay,” He whispers, shifting to sit on the edge of the bed, “Promise,”
“We have a baby,” You grin, Cisco’s eyes finally leaving Dante to look at you, his hand not on his shoulder reaching up to cup your face, pulling you in to press his lips against yours, twice,
His forehead bumps yours, head turning to look back down to Dante when he whines, Cisco leaning back so his could extend his hands,
“Easy,” You nod to his shoulder, watching him nod once as he moves to lean against your pillow, shifting Dante against his shirt, carefully,
“Look at him,” He murmurs, your head leaning on his uninjured shoulder, hand on his, “He’s got your nose,”
“We already know everything he’s got,” You remind, nodding to the door where adult Dante stood, next to Nora and behind Barry,
Cisco follows your gaze, smiling as he glances back down to the infant. “Let Caitlin fix your shoulder,” You murmur, Cisco reluctantly handing you back your child.
“Hey,” Cisco pauses as he stands up, leaning back down to press a kiss to your lips, then to your forehead, “I’m so proud of you, mi amor,”
You smile back, looking up at Barry when he holds out his hands, hopefully.
. . .
“It’s almost like you’re really dead,”
You lean back in your chair, Dante rested against your chest as you read the screen, where the words- “VIBE DEAD” showed in front of you,
“Yeah,” Cisco heaves, arm now in a sling and free hand at the back of your shoulder, “I almost really was,” Cisco sighs, running his hand through his hair, “How the hell are we gonna catch this guy?”
“Not without our powers, we know that at least,” Nora frowns, and your eyes widen in realization, Barry’s brows furrowing at your expression,
“I never got my powers back,” You exhale, Cisco looking down to the anxiety etched on your face, “What if they’re gone for good? I- Cecile has hers, still,”
“Hey,” Cisco calms, kneeling down so he was even to you, “For all we know, they could be slow coming back- maybe your body just has to heal, you just gave birth, it’ll take time,”
Your tense shoulders relax, eyes shutting as you nod, “Right. Right, yeah. Sorry,”
“We don’t know much else, either,” Sherloque continues, “Variations in the timeline, they’ve shifted the elements, complicated the equation.
“Not all those elements are bad though,” Barry smiles over to Dante and Nora, “You two could be the elements that save us- you could be the reason we catch Cicada,”
“I must admit, miss Nora here pulled the rug right under from Cicada,” Sherloque laughs,
“That’ll be the only fake death we’re gonna see around here ‘cause you’re sticking around until you pay us back every cent,” Cisco reminds
“Well I have to say, prospect of another mystery with Cicada puts a little pep in my step,” Sherloque states, gesturing to where you had stood up and now bounced Dante, “And now with two Dante Ramons, I sense this will get quite entertaining,”
“It’s gonna be weird, for sure,” You nod, Cisco’s free arm sliding to rub the back of your neck as you move to his side, “Two Dante’s in one house? We’ll see,”
“We probably should get you two home,” Cisco speaks, stepping back as he glances to Barry,
“Get some rest,” Barry orders, finger pointed, “Both of you,”
“Dont worry,” Dante stuffs his hands in his pockets, “I’ll help. Any time I get to spend with younger me, I’ll take,”
You wink at Barry and laugh, Cisco nodding for Dante to follow, shaking his head as you murmur to him about how he must record Dante holding himself for the first time.

What do you think about sherloque implying iris had a tattoo of something related to eddie?? I thought it was SO unnecessary to include, even as a joke, because so many people use it against her, as per usual
It literally had nothing to do with Eddie, though. Sherloque just said she had a tattoo of a former lover that she’d gotten removed, and it was supposed to be a humorous moment. Some people interpreted it to having something to do with Eddie, but let’s be honest: Iris in season 1 would never have gotten a tattoo. It’s just not in her character to get a tattoo then, and it’s not in her character to get a tattoo now. Clearly, this was meant to be a humorous callback to like college Iris, likely a little tipsy, making a spur of the moment decision to get a tattoo with her then boyfriend, whom she probably dated for like two or three months. A decision which she immediately regretted the next day and then had the tattoo removed.
Idk, maybe we shouldn’t read into what was clearly meant to be a silly moment and make a mountain out of a molehill? Would I have included the joke? No, probably not, because it’s not my kind of humor. But can we please stop watching this show and interpreting everything as being used against Iris by people whose opinions should not matter at all to us? Like by even looking at a fairly innocuous moment like this and seeing it as something antis will use against Iris, we’re literally giving those antis opinions value. There is no ammunition here, but antis will use anything and everything to hate on Iris, and I really wish we would stop giving their garbage, delusional and utterly wrong opinions any weight.

‘Systems Online,’ a pop-up signal had indicated on the tablet you held with flashing red and white lettered lights. But the adrenaline in your veins would not subside. Taking in a breath of rushed air, you walked towards the monitors on jittery feet with the notion of checking on Nash. Looking back up at him, his eyes were shut, and his lithe body was reclined in the chair with machinery hooked up to him. You dread ball up in the pit of your stomach as silence hung in the air.
“Did it work?” Ralph questioned, glancing to everyone then back to you; confusion written on his face.
“Is there something that should have happened?” Barry followed up beside Ralph.
“Well if there was a big bang sound, followed by multiple spontaneous sparks flying everywhere and the room’s electricity short-circuiting along with small fires combusting from the machinery then we’d be in trouble.” You watched Nash’s neurological and physiological vitals rise and fall within homeostatic values on the monitors. Normal. Stable. “I- According to my theoretical calculations- yes, I’m getting science-y right now-,” you exhaled while you gestured with your hands as you spoke, “each psyche that had manifested itself into Nash’s being should have effectively split from his psyche and returned to their respective bodies in each dimension harboring a Harrison Wells doppelganger. Harry and the others hypothesized that their bodies must be unconscious, but alive in order for their psyches to remain intact within Nash’s mind.” The others looked unsure. You rubbed your exhausted eyes. “It’s just like how when you and Iris used the Mindscape Machine to enter into Nora’s mindscape when she went into Grace’s mind. Sherloque said you both would enter with your psyche’s and they had to be intact in Nora’s head in order to ensure you’d be able to return to your bodies unharmed. If the psyche is harmed and killed in any way, then the body essentially dies,” You took a step towards them away from the monitors with the tablet held close to you. “The reverse should be correct as well. If the psyche is absent from the body, the body must be preserved at stable levels in order for the psyche to return and realign itself in its proper body. That’s what we’re relying on. Hopefully they all made it back to their respective bodies.”
“In this case, it’s the multidimension of Wells,” Chester interjected, lowering his voice to a whisper. “So freaking cool.” Allegra rolled her eyes as she continued to cross her arms.
“Nash would have felt the absence of a Wells in his psyche if another doppelganger’s psyche had deteriorated due to its unconscious body not surviving. Wolfgang would be able to pinpoint who it is because he has a neurological roster of the Council of Wells that he had implemented into his own mind, therefore his own psyche.”
Iris spoke up after you finished, running a hand over her forearm as she resisted the urge to itch the patch of skin. Side effects from remaining in the Mirrorverse for too long. “So, they get back to their bodies. Then what? How are they going to get here?”
“Each Wells should be able to use their intelligence as well as tapping into their own resources on their Earth and use the dimensional coordinates they have to get relay their dimensional coordinates and the states of their Earth’s back to Earth-Prime,” You answered in a heartbeat with a snap of a finger. “Sherloque, Harry, and Wolfgang should be coming as soon as they wake up. They work fast and everything.”
“Ugh,” Cisco groaned in irritation, throwing his head back, “not Herr ‘off-you-go’ Wells.” The rest of us giggled at impending misery. “I swear if he makes one snide remark.”
“Wait, how do you know if we’ve got all the Wells and their dimensions? Is there some sort of algorithm the satellites are tracking?” Kamila added from beside Cisco. You watched his eyes melt a bit at the fact that she takes interest in understanding his areas of expertise like how he does to her photography and artistic nature.
You gave Cisco the honors of explaining that one. He turned to his lovely girlfriend. “My babies up in the heavens, god bless my mechanical genius, are calibrated with the finest technology to identify any molecular or subatomic shifts produced by any wave of dark matter or antimatter.” Kamila grinned at him as he continued. “But we won’t know for certain until Grumpy Cat, Tea Leaves, and Herr Prim-Posh Pants summon themselves through to correctly calibrate the DCP (Dimensional Communications Projector) to the actual dimensional values. You know, the Wells touch and all. God, but I swear if they break anything-”
“-They’re not,” you giggled as you cut off your annoyed friend, “I already told Harry that this area would be a ‘No Throw’ zone. The guys know better than to throw things that aren’t theirs too.”
“What about Nash?” Cecile pointed at the unconscious man.
Right, this part. “I will stay here to monitor any changes to his vitals until he wakes up. I already have a universal blood sample from our very own speedster in case Nash’s body were to start entering a state of flux. Barry’s cells should be able to repair any damage in Nash’s body if that were to happen. Just like he did to Ralph.”
“But Ralph’s body is pure elastic. It can bend and readjust itself to anything. Nash’s human.” You make a very excellent point, Cecile.
“Don’t worry, I’ve already run tests on myself and Cisco in order to ensure that the small blood transfusion would work on non-metas.” You fist-bumped your bro, who nodded approvingly. “Tiny increments should be able to do the trick.” Cecile nodded at you, giving you a motherly proud look before it contorted into a pointed one. You knew what she was going to say, but before she had a chance to say it the meta alarm went off.
“I guess that’s our cue to leave things to you,” Barry smiled at you, before nodding everyone to the direction of the door.
“Don’t die out there,” you teasingly yelled at their retreating figure.
“We’ll try not to.”
“And Barry, you need to do a prognosis physiological and biochemical report on your body from using the artificial Speed-force. Can’t have you losing your speed halfway through the day.”
“Yes, mother, I’ll be home before dinner to do homework,” Barry snickered, as he waved you off as he left with the others.
You rolled your eyes playfully at your antics with him and the others. Taking a seat in front of the monitors, you gave Nash another look. No matter how many times I can joke around with the others, I still feel the weight of their lives on my shoulder. You chewed on the inside of your cheek as your eyes flickered onto the screens. You need to wake up soon Nash. Running a hand through your hair as you set your head against your arm which leaned on the metal table. I need to know I didn’t kill you.
***
An hour had passed, and you felt your head was down to its last brain cell. You blinked slowly as you laid it against the cool metal. Nash was still unconscious, and you were starting to get worried. His vitals were still substantially at equilibrium. You shut your eyes for a moment. Allegra strode in with an annoyed look on her face as her eyes landed on Nash then to you.
“I don’t get why you care about him,” her rushed voice caused you to lift your head up. She continued while you quirked an eyebrow at her. “Why you’re wasting time watching over him. I mean after everything he’s done to me and the rest of us. Hell, he took your boyfriend away from you for some shit myth-busting. How is it that you still try to make yourself available to help someone like him?” It pisses me off and so does his existence!
“Allegra, Nash’s a human being too.”
“Ugh, whatever.” The young adult padded over to where some tech lied in attempts to obtain the thing that Cisco had described he needed.
“Ok, no. I can’t do this today.”
“Excuse me?” she narrowed her eyes at your change in tone. What’s got her panties all in a sudden twist?
“I’m am so tired of your bullshit attitude towards him,” You threw out, standing up from your chair with flared nostrils. “Your incessant whining when we don’t tell you every little detail about us, and how you treated the rest of us like dirt as if we haven’t been trying to stay by your side.”
“I haven’t-”
“Do you honestly not remember the way you treated Joe and Cecile? With rudeness and hostility and utter venom? When they had tried to get you to trust them to keep you safe from your cousin? How you were so pissy at Iris for not telling you about Team Flash? How you sneered and lashed out at Frost for trying to help you with your boy problems? We’re just going to sweep all that under the rug and call it a day?” You rhetorically asked with utter frustration. “And Nash, what is your problem with him? That he didn’t tell you that his adopted daughter who died right in front of him is your doppelganger? That’s your reason to emotional and mentally abuse him?! Boohoo, he didn’t tell me the truth. I’m a journalist I have to know the truth.”
“I don’t know wh-”
How can one person be so selfish? “Yes, you do. I’m a family practitioner, I know the signs of abuse even if it isn’t physical. 1) The silent treatment you give him whenever he tried to approach you to see if you were alright or if you needed help. 2) Not taking any responsibility for your toxic behavior towards him. 3) Pushing him to the point where he questions himself and his sanity because of how much you openly despise him. 4) Leading him to believe almost everything that goes wrong around you is his fault when it’s not. That’s gaslighting. 5) Using shame and his guilt to make him feel worse about himself regarding problems he already deeply regrets and works every day to make up for it. 6) Appearing indifferent when he’s clearly hurt/sad/upset. That’s called lack of empathy. And 7) ignoring him when he’s trying to express his feelings or trying to explain himself to you, but obviously because of all of the above you never gave him the fucking chance.” I get that her upbringing was rough but isn’t it hypocritical of you to pry at everyone’s hidden secrets when you have some of your own. We barely know anything about you other than the CCPD records and your meta abilities.
You had taken a few steps closer to her, seething and seeing red. Allegra struggled to retaliate, “I didn’t know-“
“No, you clearly didn’t because every time he tried to talk to you, you always shot him down harshly. Nash tried to give you time and space, always hoping that you would be ready and one day just listen to him. Do you not know how hard it is to wake up every morning to see the doppelganger of your dead child? Do you not understand how hard it is for him to relive the memory of her death over and over again? How much grief he’s carried in his heart and all of a sudden, by a stroke of chance his daughter’s doppelganger is part of Team Flash on this Earth?”
“…”
“You call yourself a journalist, but only when you don’t get what you want. You used that card so many times against Iris, especially when you snooped on her computer and found out about the crisis.” You took in a breath from your heated speech to calm down. Your headed started to pound even more Never in your life have you gotten this ballistic. You counted to 10 and regained control of your breathing and your tongue. Allegra was downright speechless, stunned in her spot at your ebullient words. “I’m not sorry for everything that I’ve said. You needed to hear it to wake up from that closed off and childish world you live in. Because whether you like it or not, he’s family too. And he’s here to stay, just like you. That’s the truth. You have trust issues, even when you’re with us. All of us. You doubt yourself and hesitate. That’s another truth. And you just use him as a punching bag to let out your frustration and pent-up annoyance on someone who only wants to protect you. Penance for not being able to protect his own daughter.”
“I didn’t ask for him to protect me. I’m not helpless.”
“We don’t ask for a lot of things in life to happen, but they do so anyway. Barry got struck by lightning. Frost and Caitlin watched their father die. We’ve lost so many precious souls. But life goes on. Is Iris helpless when Barry saves her? Is it true when vice versa happens? Frost distracts the baddie in time for Cisco to work his tech magic. Is he helpless? Is Ralph helpless when Sue took down those assassins even though she knew he was Elongated Man who is more than capable of handling a few bullets?”
“I- No?”
“Having another person around isn’t a sign of weakness, but strength. Surrounding yourself with people who love you, who you can call family isn’t an exhibition of helplessness. Allegra, you have a home now. A family that will always want the best for you whether you choose to trust us or not. And no matter what happens, Nash’s resolve is to ensure your safety even though he knows you are your own person. For his dead daughter’s sake. That’s how he believes he can redeem all that he’s done. Is that wrong?”
“But he manipulated me and then basically started the crisis.”
“Then I guess you don’t know the full story about that either,” you mocked her. Some reporter, huh. “First off, Nash told you about Team Flash before Team Flash told you about Team Flash. Why? I can only assume that he wanted you to know before you found out the hard way. Meaning if something where to happen to you unexpectedly like Blackhole targeting you because of your affiliation with Iris. He wanted you to already be aware of them and to know who to go to in case things got rough. Secondly, he gave you the push you needed to not fear your powers. To trust yourself. He foresaw that you’d need your powers and so would the others. So, where in all of that does Nash win and leave you for ruin like Eobard Thawne has done to the others? Was it wrong for Nash to indirectly help you in his own awkward bargain-y kind of way?”
Allegra ran a hand through her hair as you spoke, wanting desperately to prove you wrong that Nash was just using her. “It’s just… weird. I’m her doppelganger, I’m my own person. I’m not… her. I don’t even know her name.”
“Her name is Maya and if you asked Nash, he’d be more than willing to tell you about her, and you’d see for yourself that you and she are not the same.”
Allegra nodded at your words, looking as if she would contemplate it. You hoped anyway. The man didn’t need to be broken further. “How do you know all this?”
“It’s honestly pretty simple to push his buttons a bit before he spilled his pent-up feelings to me after we exorcised Eobard out of him. And I’m pretty sure Harry’s been giving him hell for Nash’s unsuccessful attempts with talking to you.
“Who’s he again?”
“An evil murderous speedster that has a thing for ruining Barry’s life and ensuring his existence in the timeline. Not the first time that’s happened, but the crisis allowed for us to do an exorcism was very… eye-opening.” You grinned mirthlessly to yourself causing her to smile a bit. You sighed and took a seat, gesturing for her to take it. Rubbing your eyes, you spoke up, “Nash isn’t the only one.”
“I don’t understand”
“4 years ago, Zoom was terrorizing Earth-1 and Earth-2. A speedster that could breach back and forth if all 52 breach-points weren’t sealed. It was terrifying to say the least. Barry, Cisco, Harry, and I breached over to Earth-2 with a 24-hour time limit in saving Jesse. She’s Harry’s daughter. His pride and joy, his one weakness but his true.”
“You sound like she’s yours too.”
In a way, she kinda would be if- “She’s a brilliant young soul who rivaled her father in intelligence and had a high-spirited personality. Later on, she was accidentally gifted with speedster abilities when Harry and the others tried to regain Barry’s speed. Abilities that Harry still dreads to this day because he’s an overprotective grouch. You’d like Jesse if you met her. Any who, I’m going off topic-” You laughed to yourself. “We had a strict time limit to find her before Zoom and his meta-minions expunged us off the multiverse. And Barry, he went undercover after kidnapping his nerdy doppelganger- “
“-so, Barry basically kidnapped himself- “
“-Yeah. A lot of weird shit goes on with us, but those are all stories for another time.” You waved the thought off before continuing. “So, he was undercover, and he met up with Joe and Iris’ doppelgangers on Earth-2’s Jitters. Barry couldn’t help himself when it came to protecting them when Earth-2 Killer Frost and her boyfriend crashed the little party in search for Barry and us. In the name of Zoom, they were sent out to kill of the breachers. Barry got involved when we were supposed to be incognito getting in and getting out. He sped E-2 Joe to the hospital and E-2 Iris away before she could shoot at E-2 Killer Frost. Even though, Harry told him that these doppelgangers were not his Iris and Joe, that he shouldn’t get involved with the people there. Barry saw the differences and, I kid you not, yelled at Harry that even if they were doppelgangers, they were still his Joe and Iris. He had a sense to protect them, just like Nash does for you.”
“That’s…”
“It’s a lot, I know. We’ve all been through a lot in these past 6 years. Just… just think about it. Give Nash a chance to talk to you. To explain everything to you from his point of view. Because deep down, he knows you are your own person, but that you’re special just like Maya. Just as what Barry saw on Earth-2 with Joe and Iris’ doppelgangers. Lives worth risking for.”
You watched as Allegra took in a breath, really letting everything sink in before nodding at you. The gem that Nash had given her was still in her jacket pocket. It amplified her UV powers into mentally confusing the person in front of her. She fiddled with the tech in her hands. “I need to go give this to Cisco. He’s probably wondering if I drowned or not.” You nodded at her with an understanding smile as she retreated out the speed lab. Sighing harshly, you allowed the tension to leave your body as you reclined back in your seat. You shut your eyes. I hope I made the right decision to speak my mind to her.
“Didn’t think you thought that highly of me.” Your eyes fluttered open as you took a sharp intake of breath. Nash chuckled to himself at your dismay. His head felt incredibly murky as he blinked the dark spots away. He remained reclined as he rolled his head to the side, the feeling of his limbs returning to him as he urged his fingers to twitch and curl.
“Nash?! You were awake the entire time?!” Nash just smirked languidly at your embarrassed outburst, ignoring the slight throbbing sensation in his head. “Why didn’t you chime in?”
He watched you slowly sit up with worriment. Nash noted your continued exhaustion. “I was intrigued on what you had to say on my behalf.”
“Worried I’d tell her to UV your existence off the planet?”
“No, you wouldn’t do that.”
“And how do you know that? I can be pretty mean.”
And pretty bossy when you berate me for running into danger. But in either case, still pretty. “I understand. But then the question begs, why would you go to such great lengths to defend me?”
“I didn’t defend just you, Nash.”
“But almost the entirety of the conversation revolved around me and how I felt. My regrets and intentional self-punishment. You could have told her that you didn’t care and that she could continue to give me the cold shoulder… but you didn’t. Isn’t that right, little lady?” Nash coyly mocked you, causing you to roll your eyes at the Wells doppelganger. “Like you said, I’m a human being as well.”
“And a dumbass,” you muttered in a hushed voice to yourself as the taller man moved to stand up, he swayed not quite oriented yet. You were on your feet at once to steady him back into his seat. “Let’s do a couple of tests before you do any gallivanting across the city.” You checked over the monitors, noting that some vitals had dropped below normal which could be due to him waking up from the psyche-neural mental surgery.
“Do you want to take Barry’s blood?” You held up the syringe of speedster blood O-.
“Pass. I’m not a vampire.”
“I know you’re not a vampire, you idiot! This should speed up your body’s biochemical processes for you to retain homeostatic levels and for your mind to reorient itself to the psyche-neural splicing.” Nash stubbornly agreed to the blood administration. He rolled up his sleeve while you pulled out the necessary equipment to work your medical magic. You were just about finished when the geological myth-buster spoke up.
“Thank you… I owe you a favor.”
“Huh?”
“I said, thank you.”
“Sorry, just one more time. I don’t- I don’t think I… caught that correctly.”
“How does Harry even put up with you?”
“You can ask him yourself when he gets here,” you responded cheekily with a huge toothy grin on your face. You won’t lie and say that your heart didn’t jump that Harry would be coming soon. “Now what’s this about owing me a favor?”
Geez don’t smile like that at me. Nash pushed away those pesky thoughts. “I honestly really hoped you wouldn’t catch that, but,” He paused for a moment to collect his words as he sat up, now not taking for granted the silence within his own mind. “After you put the Psyche Segregator on me, I realized something. The favor you owed me, protecting Allegra, it’s… a favor without an expiration date.”
“So?”
“It wouldn’t be fair if I did not do the same.”
“I’m not following.”
“Gods! What I’m saying is, that I owe you a lifelong favor. But only one.”
He owes me a favor. A lifelong favor. A favor that’s lifelong. A favor that doesn’t expire. An expirationless favor. I get a lifelong favor. A dumbass owes me a favor. “…”
“What’s it going to be?”
“… I can’t think of anything right now.”
Nash only blinked at you. “Seriously, you can’t come up with something in that ditzy head of yours?”
“Hey, I take great offense to that!”
“Good, it’s the truth.”
You put away the medical equipment and disconnected the screens that held his vitals. While you were up, you gave him a water bottle and some food to help with the dizziness. Nash felt his strength return to him as the blood transfusion allowed his body to work faster in restoring itself. “You never told me; did it work? Are they…?” You trailed off pointing to your head as he stood up.
“No mo-”
Swouush, swooush
The crackling sounds of atoms and the fabric of this dimension cut you off. You turned around to see two breach-like holes open up in the middle of the speed lab, familiar and friendly faces exiting safely. They pocketed their newly synthesized dimensional extrapolators.
“Vhy don’t you take ein gut look, schatz?”
“Oui, we’d be more zhan ‘appy to answer zhat for Nash.”
You greeted them cheerily with a hand wave as they approached you and Nash. Wolfgang nodded at you before making a beeline to where the DCM remained. Sherloque tipped his hat to you before nodding at Nash.
“You guys made it safely.” :D
“Zhat we did, petit fluer. A few bumps on zhe way, but nozhing eizher of us could not ‘andle,” Sherloque piqued up,
“Then that means-,” You pulled out caramel vanilla flavored chap stick out of your pocket and applied it to your lips. Your heart waited in anticipation not even wanting to waste time to even fix your hair. Harry will be here soon. The boys just watched you carry on with a dumbstruck smile on your face as you stood in place and waited for a breach to open up. Wolfgang resumed working on recalibrating the DCM for the others.
“Did you just put on chap stick?” Nash asked with quirked eyebrows and an incredulous look.
“Well, yeah? When I see Harry, I’m going to wanna kiss him, duh.”
“You didn’t get enough from-”
“-Sherloque, don’t-”
“-when you were making out wizh ‘arry in Nash’s ‘ead?”
You shut your eyes and groaned, blood rushing up to your face as you covered it with your hands. “They did what?? Seriously, in my mindscape?” Nash’s flare-up caused Sherloque to snicker as he smirked at your bashfulness.
“Ja, zhey did zhat.” Wolfgang sighed, pulling up new schematics one the computer screen. He worked diligently with any piece of technology at his fingertips. “Alzhough, Sherloque vas zhe unfortunate one to valk in on zhem. Gott sei Dank bin ich es nicht.”
“Oui, zhey were getting very ‘ot and ‘eavy zhat it took Wolfgang and moi to interrupt zhem from what people on zhis Earth would say ‘rounding zhe bases like deux ‘ormonal teenagers.”
“Sherloque, stop! Please!”
Your cheeks were on fire and you know they could see the colored hues. Sherloque and Nash continued to tease you while you attempted to ignore their playful jabs. No Harry yet. It’s been… 15 minutes. Don’t panic. He’s ok. Probably held up or something at his Labs. He’s ok and he’s with Jesse. Just breathe. “I-I should probably run some small physiological diagnostics on you guys since you just crossed over and we don’t know if the dimensional travel will negatively impact you or not.”
“Great, she gets nervous and all of a sudden to distract herself, the little lady wants to run tests.” Nash facepalmed while Sherloque just gave you a look.
“Hey, I’m not nervous! How many times are you going to offend me today?”
“As many times as necessary.”
“Everyzhing zhat you’re doing right now are common gestures of being nervous. You keep playing wizh your fingers and biting on your bottom lip. You did zhat last year whenever we were discussing Cicada.” Sherloque added much to your chagrin.
You pouted with crossed arms. “I don’t do it often.”
“Yes, you do.” Both Nash and Sherloque responded simultaneously and you felt yourself shrink a bit under their combined blue gazes. Before you could say anything, Wolfgang let out low whistle. The three of you turned to him as he began to speak.
“Systems are all online und fully functional. Zhe ozhers should be sending us zheir dimensional coordinates und ve can commence vizh zhe cataloging soon.” The German man continued speaking as he finished typing up a few more algorithms on the computer. “I’ve already uploaded ein copy of zhe roster from my mind zhat vay ve could check zhe ozher Vells off Stück für Stück.
You nodded at Wolfgang’s words, but felt your stomach squeeze in your lower abdomen. “What about Harry?”
“Ve vill just have to vait until he shows up, schatz.” Wolfgang adjusted his glasses as he gave you a brief glance. You weren’t the only one to notice that since arriving on Earth-Prime that Wolfgang wouldn’t meet your eyes. “Do no vorry, Harry vill come.” Your shoulders sagged at the idea, an action Sherloque picked up on which prompted him to give his two cents.
Mh, une distraction semble être de mise. “(Y/N), Wolfgang ‘ere told me an interesting story about ‘is Earzh and a particular person ‘e ‘ad come across. Say, your doppelganger for instance.” The Frenchman took off his fedora to card his fingers through his dark locks whilst Wolfgang momentarily froze. Nash stretched fully before retreating out of the room, knowing he wouldn’t be needed and wouldn’t allow himself to be psychoanalyzed by the one and only Sherloque Wells. Sherloque smirked as Nash left and Wolfgang’s reaction. Il n’y a pas de mal à partager des histoires.
“Nein, halt- Ich-”
“-He told you or did you deduce it from him like you do to everyone else?” You questioned your friend slyly before turning your head back to the German Wells. “Wolfgang, you knew my doppelganger?”
“Ja, ve… ve used to be close in university.” His cheeks dusted pink as he fumbled about with the wiring of your Earth’s extrapolators. “She vas zhe one zhing zhat remained constant zhrough zhe years.”
“What happened to her? You’re talking as if-”
“She passed avay. Ja, she did. She vas terminally ill… Multiple Sclerozis.”
So that’s probably why he doesn’t like to look at me for too long. “I’m sorry. My brother- he died a few years ago from Multiple Sclerosis too. I guess the apple doesn’t fall too far from the family tree even across the multiverse, huh?”
“Ja.”
Ok (Y/N), way to make it super awkward. “I should- leave you to your sciencing. Sorry about that.”
Wolfgang just nodded his head in thanks before sending a glare to the detective while Sherloque advised the both of you to venture out to the breakroom for to make drinks. With a smug look on his face, obviously. Qu’est ce qui retarde ‘arry? The same thought echoed hauntingly in your mind as well. You allowed the French detective to pull you down the corridor for some coffee and tea, but your mind could not for the life of it let go of Harry.
***
You waited. Patiently, if I might add. It’s been 2 days since Wolfgang and Sherloque had popped over. Obviously you had gone home to shower and change before coming back with some snacks. The cataloging was running smoothly. Wells one by one projected themselves over via the DCM and recounted their dimensional coordinates as well as establishing the state of their Earth in this new dimension. But you grew uninterested in the different variations of your boyfriend. Each second ticked away at your heart. Like a fool you’d look up at the different sounds that would come from the center of the Speed Labs only to be met with disappointment. Sherloque eyed you as you waited around like a lost puppy for the Earth-2 man, even at points getting up and pacing. The detective saw the anxiety ooze from you at the fact that Harry hadn’t arrived yet, so he did his best to distract you from your worries and thoughts. But he was running out of stories of Earth-221, interesting cases, and discussion topics to tell.
Barry had sped in a couch for you and Sherloque to sit in as you waited for Harry to make an appearance. The detective calmly sipped at his new flavored tea, one that you had provided. Wild Raspberry Hibiscus. You blinked the sleep from your eyes, willing yourself to be alert. You had already consumed 4 cups of coffee with espresso yesterday, but those sleepless nights were slowly pushing against you. The two of you sat in silence with only the hums of working electricity and noises from the DCM.
“I zhink,” Wolfgang took a step back from the computer monitor, “I should retire for zhe nacht.” The German took off his glasses and rubbing his closed eyes. Es war eine mühsame Aufgabe, aber sie musste erledigt werden. “I’ve reprogrammed zhe system in order for it to catalog incoming Vells automatically.”
“I’ll keep my eye on it,” Sherloque piqued up, gesturing with his porcelain teacup to the DCM and subtly side glancing at you. Wolfgang only nodded at his doppelganger.
“Yeah, you should go rest. Sorry if it seemed like I was keeping you here,” you stood up and stretched, walking over to the German Wells.
“Nonsense, zhink of it as a favor to Harry,” Wolfgang waved off your statement. You offered your hand to the platinum-haired Wells which he shook gently before bidding your goodbyes to each other as he strode through the dimensional breach. Which reminds me. You scrunched your face and blinked a few times over then turned back to the seated detective.
“Sherloque, you don’t have to say here. You should go back home to Renee.”
“I- Comment puis-je lui dire? … Renee and I didn’t exactly work out. Encore.” You observed him as he set his teacup down, Sherloque chuckled sadly to himself. Je ne sais même pas pourquoi j’ai voulu recommencé ca va faire 8 fois.
“You deserve better. You really do, Sherloque. Love will find you.”
“Easy for you to say.”
“Hey, head up,” You found yourself sitting beside the now cynical man as you wrapped your arms around him in a comforting hug. “It could even literally run right into you one day when you least expect it. But it doesn’t mean you can run yourself ragged from sleep loss.” He sighed, shaking his head slightly and reciprocating the gesture of affection. You knew he had no problem with loving, it was the fact of having that love fully reciprocated without it becoming superficial.
“I cannot, I promised ‘arry I would not leave your side in zhe case zhat zhere would be some sort of delay on ‘is end.”
“He asked you to do that for me?”
“Oui”
“Do you think… something happened to him?”
“I wouldn’t worry. ‘e’s a capable and determined man, plus ‘e ‘as ‘is daughter wizh ‘im. Now come on, I believe zhe bozh of us deserve a change of scenery.”
“I’m feeling the need for Jitters coffee actually.”
You pulled said man off the couch and moved towards the direction of the door. Sherloque raised an eyebrow at you incredulously as he scrunched his nose in disgust at the prospect of coffee. “Coffee at zhis hour? Its 10 PM.”
“WHAT?”
“Well you’ve been on zhe Netflix entire time, peeping up every once and awhile to see if ‘arry come or not. I’m not surprised you lost track of time.”
“I guess I can drink some hot chocolate from the breakroom.”
“No need to get up,” Nash’s voice caused your head to snap up as he stepped into the Speed lab with a cup of hot chocolate in hand, “I figured you’ve had too much coffee in your clumsy existence within the past 12 hours.” In truth, Nash had made, dumped, and re-made hot chocolate 7 times in the past 2 hours because he had no idea on how you’d react when he’d make it. He had no idea why he impulsively decided to make one of your favorite drinks instead of letting you waste away at the prospect of coffee. The adventurer talked and scolded himself because you clearly don’t need him to help you out. You’re a capable, independent ditz after all with a war veteran of a boyfriend on the way. Although, Harry’s delay did ease the unsettling feeling in the pit of Nash’s stomach. Finally, the myth-buster had made a decision and added some peppermint extract to give it more flavor with some marshmallows. Fuck it, I’m going to do it anyway because… I secretly want to see her smile at me while it lasts. FuCk.
“I resent that statement, but I do thank you for the hot cocoa,” you hummed in contentment of the fresh brew. Nash saw the weight momentarily leave your shoulders and your body visibly relaxed. You saw him eye you oddly but chose to shake it off as you took another long sip. “Mm, I never got to ask, but have you met any vampires?”
“What?”
“Vampires. You said you weren’t one and I obviously know that, but I’m intrigued if you’ve encountered any on your travels through the multiverse. Cisco accidentally met one when he saved Breacher a year ago.”
“Do you always come up with bizarre questions to ask?” Nash poked your cheek as the three of you moved back to the couch. You batted his hand away. Sherloque baby blue eyes followed the banter between
“I don’t know if I should take it as a compliment or a criticism.”
“Take it as you will. I honestly don’t care.”
“Well?” You asked with furrowed eyebrows as you were seated in between Sherloque and Nash on the couch. You blinked a few times and shook your head a bit.
“Well, what?”
“Have you caused any trouble with any vampire?”
“Why is it that you think that I always cause trouble?” Nash countered your question with his own. He ignored the mockingly smug look on Sherloque’s face.
You shot Nash a look before retorting and Sherloque held in a laugh. “I’m not even going to answer that, Nash.” Nash stammered a bit before succumbing to that determined look on your face, the sparkles hidden in your eyes as they twinkled with curiosity.
“There was this one time-”
“-I knew it!-”
“-Would you let me finish before judging?” He lightly scolded you as you took another sip of your hot cocoa, your head started to throb against the hardness of your skull. “Anyway, before I was so rudely interrupted,” but you did not look in the least regretful, “this was before I met Maya. I had… overheard in a tavern on a dark Earth rumors of the Alexandrite Crown or better known in the dark legends as the Queen’s Crown. A crown thistled with alexandrite gems but infused with Thallium and Platinum. Poisonous according to the naturally occurring substances on that Earth.”
Nash continued painting the pictures to his adventure and his encounter with a Vampire Clan in a clash over the Alexandrite Crown and the mystical way of obtaining Chrysolite in order to cleanse it from the noxious spirit that’s locked away within. You hung onto each word as you pushed away the blurriness in your vision and the hazy state of your mind. With each second your head got heavier, feeling like lead and your eyes threatened to droop, but you needed this distraction from worrying about Harry’s wellbeing. Taking one deep breath, you shut your eyes as your body went out of commission. The geological adventurer breathed a sigh of relief, lowering his voice to a stop as your head gently lolled to the side, resting against Sherloque’s shoulder. Both men observed your breathing pattern relax to soft puffs of air.
“Sleeping powder, impressive and you even stalled until it took effect. Maybe zhere’s hope for you just yet,” Sherloque smugly spoke up as he readjusted you to rest your head onto his lap.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Nash narrowed his blue irises at the detective.
“Non, nozhing. What else did you bring?”
“Huh? What-I didn’t-”
“I’m a detective Nash, I notice zhe most miniscule of things. Bring over zhe pillow and blanket you ‘ave ‘idden in zhe vacant room beside zhe corridor.”
“How did you…?”
“Skill, mon ami. Skill. Just because I’m not in your ‘ead does not mean zhat I cannot see zhrough your pure intentions.”
Nash sighed in defeat as he pulled up the blanket and pillow. He first covered you with a fluffy blanket, ensuring that he would not meet Sherloque’s eyes. “She gets cold when she falls asleep.”
“And zhe pillow?”
Nash handed his doppelganger the pillow, who placed it on his lap before setting your head on it to sleep comfortably. “You already know so I’m not going to even say anything.”
The detective quirked a teasing, but knowing eyebrow at the explorer, “Be honest wizh yourself, what prompted you to essentially drug her?”
“Okay, with the way you’re saying it, you’re sounding as if I’m going to do vile things to her. And you know what? I’m not going to even pretend to not be offended by that.”
“Well in reality you technically did drug her, but zhat’s beside zhe point.”
“She hasn’t been sleeping well. You know it. I know it. Hell, everyone on Team Flash noticed, but no one had the will to reprimand her to take a day to rest.”
“You mean ‘zhe ‘eart’ to.”
“Whatever!-”
“-Shh!-”
“-The little lady needed to sleep. She can’t be running herself ragged while making sure everyone around her stays safe and healthy.”
“Zhat’s very noble of you, Nash. C’est ironique, non? Elle ne peut pas être tienne mais tu ne peux pas t’empêcher de désirer quelque chose que tu ne peux pas avoir.” Ta logique t’a réprimandé pour avoir préféré profiter d’un instant avec tes amis. Tu vas devoir apprendre à t’en contenter.
“What did you just say?”
“Nozhing!” Sherloque just gave the other man a mysterious smile as he took off his fedora and tossed it onto a spare and vacant table on the side. “You know it’s nozhing to be ashamed of, right? Caring about ‘er and ‘er safety, zhat’s what zhis team does to a person. It doesn’t make you weak. You should know zhat by now.”
“…”
“You just need to know not to tip over zhe line.” Sherloque knew his doppelganger didn’t like being deduced, didn’t like his actions thoroughly analyzed to told what and how he was feeling. But sometimes, he needed a little push in the right direction by the detective in order to fully face the intentions behind his actions. That was one of Nash’s flaws. The ability to push aside all the pain and emotions behind current actions in a little box and thrown out the window in order to press on with the adventures that he lived on. Sherloque had discretely gone through some of his recent memories and noticed it occur with not just you and Allegra, but with the members of Team Flash as well.
“I know what I’m doing,”
“Zhen I believe you have some… patching up to do wizh a certain teenager.”
“She’s not a teenager, she’s a young adult.”
“All in zhe same wizh ‘ow she was acting.”
Nash left with a slight huff as he had every intention of turning in for the night, mentally contemplating a few things. Rubbing his eyes, the explorer took one glance back from where he stood in the corridor. He dismissed the skilled detective’s words, but yours had echoed in his mind. The detective reclined back on the couch, his own mind wandering in the depths of his own nightmares and regrets. He took one look at you before shaking his head. Sherloque smirked as his ears perked up to familiar sounds causing the detective to tilt his head back.
