Your phone pressed between your shoulder and your tilted head, you type away at your computer. If this assignment isn’t finished by tomorrow, your boss is going to be at your throat.
“Did you hear me, Y/n?”
You blink. Had Jason said anything? You tear your eyes from your screen, looking outside the window. The rain is still pouring, a flash of lightning appearing every few minutes. You turn your attention back to your computer.
“No, sorry. Can you repeat what you said?”
“I said that you should probably take a break. I’m about to go to bed, and we both know that it’s not normal for me to sleep before you.”
You nibble at your bottom lip. You still have plenty of work to do. No way you can stop now.
“I don’t know, Jay. There’s still so much I need to cover.”
“Just take a break. You need to refresh your mind and breathe a little.”
Your eyes ghosted over what you have down, silently checking for typos and grammar mistakes. Seeing none, you check what else you need. Honestly, not much. Roughly two paragraphs of work, you should be finished in less than twenty minutes, with the editing and stuff you’ll need to do.
“I’ll almost finish soon anyways, no point.”
You could hear rustling on his end, like he was getting into bed. He sighs.
“Don’t overwork yourself.”
“I’m not going to. Besides-“
You’re cut off as the entire room goes dark. You gasp, tapping different buttons on the computer. You then stand and peak outside the window. The apartment complex across from yours also seems to have gone out of power.
“What happened?”
Your boyfriend’s voice comes through the phone. You hope up and try the light switch, groaning when it doesn’t work.
“The storm cut the power. Same with the people across the road.”
He hums in acknowledgement on the other line. You make quick work of finding your candle cabinet, placing them around the apartment before looking for your lighter. You stumble over your own feet on your way to the kitchen, thumping on your side.
“What was that?”
Jason’s voice cuts through, laced with concern. He always worried about you. Props of being a Wayne, you guessed.
“I can’t see, tripped on my own feet. I’m fine.”
You stand, getting back to the kitchen and searching the drawers.
“I’m coming over.”
You can hear more rustling on his end. You smile. Of course he is, you could’ve lost your favorite movie DVD and he’d be on his way. You hear a zipper. Probably his leather jacket.
“Alright. I’m just looking for my lighter so that I can light my candles and have light sources.”
Once you find your lighter, you make a small noise of triumph. As your neck starts to cramp, you grab your phone to put the call on speaker. Nothing happens when you tap the screen or when you press the power button. Oh, it died.
You sigh, exasperated. Such a night. You can’t finish your project for work, your phone dies so you can’t communicate with the world, you can feel your apartment grow more cold since the heaters off, and all of your candles are about to be used up. You hope Jason shows up soon, so that you don’t wait for long. Also so that he doesn’t get pneumonia, since he prefers riding his bike over his car.
Once all the candles are lighted, you make your way to your bedroom. You slip into a sweater and crawl under the duvet. You had unlocked your door, knowing you wouldn’t want to get up to open it for Jason. Hopefully it’ll actually be your boyfriend opening the door, rather than some random person.
He didn’t take long. You hear the door open, and soon footsteps tread through your apartment. They stop behind your bedroom door, which slowly opens to reveal a familiar face. You smile at him, and he smiles back.
“You shouldn’t leave the door unlocked.”
“I knew you were coming, and I didn’t feel like getting back up into the cold to open the door.”
He shakes his head, kicking off his shoes and taking off his jacket.
“It’s still dangerous, Y/n. What if it hadn’t been me?”
“I knew you would’ve beaten whoever came in, since you were on the way.”
He climbs into bed beside you, pulling you against his chest. He sighs, wishing you’d be more careful. You cuddle up to him, wanting to sap up his warmth.
“At least you can sleep now. You wouldn’t have if you still had access to your computer.”
You frown.
“My boss is gonna be so mad.”
“Well, it wasn’t your fault. Tell him the truth, your power went out.”
One of Jason’s hands curl into your hair, gently massaging your head. You sigh, melting against him.
“Fine.”
He smiles, pleased.
“Now sleep. I can tell you’re tired.”
You swallow, pressing your cheek against his chest. He was warmth in the cold. Your own little heater. Your eyes close, and he lets out a content sigh as he closes his eyes as well. He makes sure you fall asleep before he does, so that you don’t try getting up to do the work while he’s out cold. Hypocrite.

heres something with damian: him and reader getting stranded in the airport due to a snowstorm and she cuddles up shyly with him
damian priest x reader
Tumblr media
snow outside
you couldn’t believe your flight was getting delayed. well you actually could since there was a snowstorm outside but you really wanted to be home for the weekend and see your family that not even the end of world was going to stop you.
but the snow was increasing and a lot of flights got cancelled and you were worried about your flight too.
“you okay?” damian asked you when he sat next to you.
you just finished to film raw and even if you were supposed to be on different flights, you found yourselves stuck at the airport together.
“my flight is probably getting cancelled…” you whispered, trying everything you could to not to cry.
“mine too…i bet it’s sunny and cold in orlando tho…” he joked and you slightly smiled “are you going back home for a few days?” he asked while sitting next to you.
“i was supposed to before the flight got a four hours delay…” you said while reading all the delays on the screen.
“great…mine just got cancelled…” he said a little annoyed.
“what if i won’t be able to see my family?” you asked him and he could tell you were probably going to cry in any minute.
“hey…come here…” he held you closer “it’s not your fault and your family knows this…it’s just this freaking weather and the fact that we are in canada…and you gotta fly to vegas…i’m pretty sure it’s hot and sunny down there” he joked making you chuckled a little bit “i know how much this means to you…and i’m sure that you’ll see them very soon…” he said “…well, probably not tomorrow since your flight just got cancelled too”
“what?” you almost screamed in exasperation.
“hey hey calm down…take a deep breath for me hermosa…in and out…” damian saw how agitated you were and he was hurting for you. he knew how much you cared for your family and with the fact that you lived in orlando and they were in vegas, he knew you saw them not very often, plus with you being drafted from nxt to raw your life got busier and busier.
“i should call my mom and let her know i’m not visiting them this weekend…she was so excited when i called her yesterday…”
“i know hermosa…i’m so sorry…” he hugged you while you were typing your mum’s number. after calling her and explaining what was happening you felt a little bit more relaxed. you knew she wouldn’t be mad and that she would understand, you were just upset you couldn’t be there for her and your dad.
“it’s pretty cold outside…and here too…” you whispered trying to warm your hands a little bit.
thankfully damian was still hugging you so he didn’t make it awkward when his arm moved closer to your body to keep you closer to his bigger one.
he was cold too but he couldn’t help feeling all warm inside by having you so close.
there was a certain feeling between the two of you. you liked him more than a friend but you never understood his intentions. he was kind with you but he was kind with everyone so that didn’t make it special. he never showed anything that would make it seems like he was interest in you but right now, having him so close to you made you daydream about the relationship you could have.
“what if we share a hotel room?” he asked, waking you from your dream.
“what?”
“i mean…you’re clearly about to fall asleep here and even if i don’t mind you sleeping on me, this would be a very uncomfortable position for you to sleep and it’s clearly too cold here. plus all these people who’s flights been cancelled won’t stop making noise and it’s getting to crowded for my liking…we won’t be able to fly until tomorrow, hopefully the snow stops…and i’d rather sleep on a comfortable bed in a cozy room than staying here…” he said and honestly you were okay with everything he said. you knew there was the airport hotel just a few miles away and that the taxis were still going so before it was too late you both took the opportunity and got to the hotel.
damian got the room and - of course - there was just a bed. you pretended you didn’t care but inside you were the happiest person on earth.
you changed while he took a quick shower and both jumped into bed.
“dam…” you whispered.
“mh?” he turned his head just to see you.
“can you turn the tv on please? i - i can’t fall asleep without the sound…if it bothers you i can try and sleep-…” he didn’t even let you finish that the tv was on “thank you…”
“can i ask you why?” he was curious.
“i started doing it when i started living alone…i’ve always been scared of staying alone at night so the tv helped me calm…”
“but you’re not alone tonight” he almost teased.
“i know it’s just…it helps me you know?” you said shyly.
he loved how you just opened up to him and he honestly wanted to know every single detail of your life but he saw how you were about to fall asleep.
“i know…” he smiled “good night princesa…” he whispered while you closed your eyes. he fell asleep dreaming of more moments like this.

“These are actually really good,” Megumi said, digging his fork through another piece of the pancake. “Not too sweet?” you asked him.
“Not too sweet,” he confirmed.
“Are you excited for the show?” Megumi put a hand over his mouth, making sure not to completely swallow the food he had in his mouth before answering. “More nervous, but everything’s been going good at the past rehearsals, so hopefully this will go over well.”
“You’ll do great, you won’t mess up promise,” you smiled at him, returning your attention to your food.
“Hope so.”

“Looks good to you?” you asked Megumi as you helped adjust his hair a little more. “Yeah, looks better honestly.” You smiled at him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“Y/n can you help me out, the hair in the back doesn’t wanna stay,” Ino spoke up a few feet besides you two. “Hm? oh yeah sure.”
You stood up straight, moving over to help style his hair back. “Thanks, sorry didn’t wanna bother but I couldn’t get it.”
“Yeah don’t worry, I’m not the best either at this but we have help around too just in case.”
Just as you were finished adjusting Ino’s hair, Megumi spoke up “Y/n I just noticed this parts uneven.” You looked over, stepping back towards Megumi. “Which part?” you asked placing your hand on his shoulder.
He stared at the mirror for a second, before meeting your eyes in it. “Oh never mind, I think I was just looking at it wrong.”
“Y/n!”
You turned around to the calling of your name, seeing Inumaki spin Yuki around towards you. “Look Y/n your friend did a great job! I love it!” Yuki announced. “Wow, you do look great Yuki!”
“And they said it wasn’t the same thing,” Inumaki nodded his head towards another station where Maki and Nobara where currently working.
You saw Maki and a volunteer assistant happily working on Kirara, with Choso looking up in your guys direction, eyes on Yuki, and Yuta happily chatting away with them. Next to them you could see Nobara argueing with Sukuna trying to get something on his face but his hand kept swatting it away. A nervous looking Kamo slowly inching away from them.
“Alright, we can chill for a few, we’ve got 10 minutes before needing to be in the backstage.”
Tumblr media
“Good luck,” you told Megumi. “It’s still just practice, save it for the actual show.” You both leaned against a wall in the backstage area, seeing everyone file in to get lined up in order.
“You know the project?” Megumi brought up.
“Photography?”
“Yeah,” Megumi smiled at you, “I got an A, said it was nice to see me try something different.”
“Different? In what way?” you questioned
“He said it was nice seeing a more personal touch from me.” You looked at him, giving him quick peck on the cheek. “Good, you deserved it, it was beautiful, well at least to me.”
“Get lined up you can have your moment later,” Maki said approaching you two, “We gotta start heading out,” she told you. You raised your hand slightly, “See you in a few then.” Megumi returned the gesture, “See you.”

Part 12 - The One After Iknimaya
Niwan Loreyu was just as beautiful as Xilä remembered.
The moment they stepped through the vined wall she felt the calming waves of that familiar feeling of being hugged lovingly.
Eywa.
Scanning the scenery before her, Xi squinted when she noticed a few new and somewhat out of place items littered around the small area.
“What’s-” she started, but Neteyam simply pulled her along until they drew nearer to the far right corner where there sat the base of a massive, thick tree trunk- its branches not visible since it grew out of the hideaway.
“Is that my satchel?” she asked, confused, noting it along with a couple others hanging from the trunk.
Stepping away from him, she surveyed the area properly, lighting up as she did.
Connected to the trunk and the side of a wall of strange vegetation, was a lush canopy of beautiful flowers. A large soft pelt was spread underneath it, creating a romantic and intimate looking bed. Xi even spotted a few stolen blankets from her own bed back home, rolled neatly at the edge of the pelt.
Turning around, she saw a basket filled with a few little pots and washcloths which was placed on a rock by the pool of rippling water.
A small wood crafted folding table sat nearby with two patched cushions as seats- one on either side of the table. And in addition to the glimmers of the bioluminescent plants and the on and off blinking of flying glowbugs, there were tiny lit lamps scattered across the space.
“Neteyam?” she asked, turning to him with a sweet but curious smile.
He scratched his temple sheepishly. “I was um, hoping we could maybe stay a few days? Just the two of us, spending time together? I don’t think one night alone with you is enough for me honestly,” he admitted quietly. “But only if you want to of course,” he added quickly.
She stared at him. He was shy right now and it was honestly the cutest thing ever.
“What about food?” she asked in faux seriousness, enjoying the way he was all squirmy at the moment- a far cry from his usual self assured disposition.
He pointed to one of the hanging satchels. “Enough for hopefully a week,” he said. “And we’ve got drinking water,” he continued, gesturing to the small trickling waterfall.
“Bath,” he said, walking over to the pool, showing her the soap balms and washcloths. “Bed,” he added, jerking his head to the pelt under the canopy.
“And if we get bored, which I highly doubt we will, I packed a few games as well. I even borrowed a deck of UNO from one of the lab guys,” he finished with a tiny smile, tail wagging behind him, seeming eager to know what she was thinking.
“Wow,” Xi said, impressed. “What about clothes?” she asked, trying to prolong her teasing.
His brows narrowed as if he realized what she was doing, so he turned the tables on her instead. “They’re in your satchel, but I don’t think you need them since I’m planning on keeping you naked the entire time,” he said matter of factually.
“Right,” she replied with burning cheeks. “Um, one last question. Did you ah- tell our families? Sal and Jxo aren’t going to show up thinking you kidnapped me are they?” she joked.
“No.” He laughed and shook his head. “There’s a big trip planned for tomorrow, you know the one Lo’ak was boasting about last week?”
She nodded, remembering how excited her friend was about finally getting a vacation.
“They’re leaving tonight, maybe after the party- spending a week away near an old RDA base. It’s um, kind of a secret tradition to take the new recruits out to bond a bit, but it’s really just an excuse for the warrior’s to get drunk and let loose for once.”
Xi shot him an amused look.
“Anyway….uh, our families may be under the impression that I’m surprising you and taking you along on the trip with the others. So we’re free to stay here…none the wiser. Lo’ak. Um, he'll cover for us.”
“Sounds like you have it all figured out….” She bit her lip, feeling herself practically swoon at the sweetness of the man in front of her. “Teyam this is all incredibly sweet. I love it…Thank you,” she whispered. “When did you even plan all of this?”
Having enough of their distance he moved towards her, eyes gleaming with intention. Titling her chin up, he leaned forward to trace his lips over hers. “Since the moment you agreed to be mine, Xilä.”
And then he was kissing her, feverishly, demandingly, soul sucking, breathtakingly.
Xilä gasped when he bent her backwards, taking from her what he wanted. He pulled away too quickly for her liking, but then he was suddenly scooping her up from under the thighs and his lips were back on hers again.
Xi squeezed her legs into his sides while her arms twisted behind his neck as they kissed with abandon, tongues and teeth clashing unceremoniously.
Neteyam blindly walked towards their canopy, his footsteps illuminated with every step against the soft mossy flooring, until he reached the pelt.
Keeping her enclosed in his arms he kneeled, then sat back, settling her into the cradle of his folded legs. He broke their kiss and nuzzled her cheek, lovingly caressing down the column of her neck with his nose and lips as she sighed against him.
“I love you,” he said into her skin, so quietly she thought she imagined it.
“I love you too.”
Sitting straight, he reached behind and grabbed his queue, bringing it between them. Xi followed and did the same, watching, entranced as the pinkish tendrils revealed themselves.
Neteyam’s eyes darted between hers for a fleeting moment, quickly checking for that final sign of confirmation and Xilä’s free palm soothed down his chest in response.
Eyes locked on the ends of their queues, they made Tsaheylu. Tendrils entwining, they glowed in unison, joining as one.
Pupils blown wide, they inhaled simultaneously, consumed by the rush of emotions filling them- both in awe by the intensity of each other's feelings.
They remained still for a moment, enthralled by the connection.
Xilä smiled up at him. Then, pulling him towards her by the nape, she kissed him, slowly. She tried to look into his eyes when they broke apart but he averted his, choosing instead to lick a path down the soft of her skin, tasting and savoring the feeling of her in his arms.
Laying her onto her back, Neteyam followed, continuing his feast as he lapped and kissed his way down her clavicle.
Xi purred, absorbed by his affections.
She let him undress her, smiling when he nipped her ankle after he’d removed her extravagant anklets. Her hips jumped when he playfully tested the pool of liquid between the valley of her thighs after removing her skirt and undercloth. And when her top was gently pried away, he tasted each of her dark blue hardened nipples, just because.
When she was completely bare, he sat back and stared unabashedly. He took his time, gazing appreciatively at her soft but toned lines- her months of training, hard work and proper nutrition was clear as day.
A heated flare of raw deep rooted possession filled him and Xilä gasped almost inaudibly when she felt it through their bond.
The longer he stared the deeper her blush turned. Her dark spiced coloured hair looked almost as black as his tonight, and her once overly pale dusty blue skin, now had a healthy and darker hue to it from all her days in the sun.
She was breathtaking.
Sitting up on an arm, Xi tugged on his loincloth and he complied, quickly undoing the tie to fling the cloth away, along with his belt and knife holder.
Now it was her turn to stare. Almost impossibly, Xi’s blush ran even deeper. Biting down on her bottom lip she peered up at him with an innocence mingled with a wanton neediness.
“Um, this might be a really stupid question,” she whispered, sending another somewhat nervous glance down to the hardened appendage currently sweeping along his lower abdomen. “I’ve been wondering for a while, but we’re here now so…I kind of need to ask…um, will it…fit?”
Pushing her completely onto her back once more, he hovered over her and grinned against her lips. “Yes,” he assured as he slipped a hand between her legs to cup her. “If I do it right.”
She gasped into his mouth when two of his fingers instantly slid into her, curving with a pleasurable pressure.
Neteyam used his tail to nudge her thighs further apart, allowing more room for his working hand and throaty noise filled the air when he sped up his pace.
Xilä’s moans were like music to his ears as she rocked her hips against his fingers.
“Neteya- mmm, shit.”
In quick succession and with a single circle of his thumb to her clit, she was clenching around his fingers and coming with a breathy sigh.
“Good?” he asked, withdrawing his hand to suck his fingers clean.
“Good,” she echoed, feeling her body tingle and relax from the orgasm he’d given her.
His fingers were back now, dipping between her folds, pressing against her entrance. All three, thick digits were sheathed inside her this time, slowly stretching her with every stroke and curl.
“More,” she begged. “More. Please Teyam.”
Greedy for more, Xi took matters into her own hands. She reached between them and gripped him causing him to gasp in shock and bite down hard on the breast he had just sucked into his mouth.
“AH!” she yelled, arching in pain, making her accidentally tighten her hold on his length.
“FUCK!” he grunted, in not only surprise but mostly from the sudden pressure on his poor dick.
Groaning out loud, he sucked in a breath of air, screwing his eyes shut when she began to stroke him.
Fingers barely meeting her thumb, Xilä began to move her hand up and down the way she often saw him do. She peered down between them, loving the feeling of him all hot and hard and heavy. She glanced up at him with a grin, the same time he glared down at her with flaring nostrils.
But then he was quickly averting his eyes from hers and her fun was halted when his sticky coated fingers suddenly tugged her bandaged wrist away.
“Fuck,” he muttered again with closed eyes and a clenched jaw- straining to gain control of himself as he breathed heavily.
“Are you okay,” she asked, trying to push him back to see his face. He looked pained and a pang of guilt clouded her when she figured she must have done something wrong.
“Mm. Yeah just give me a minute, baby.”
“Alright,” she hushed, palming his biceps in comfort.
Xilä could feel the push and pull of his raging emotions…but then, eyes narrowed on the man between her thighs, something else occurred to her. Lips parting to say something, a little noise escaped her when three fingers entered her once more without a word.
“Neteyam,” she called, but he ignored her, choosing to focus on the squishing mess between her legs.
Doing her best to stay immune to the delicious pleasures quickly consuming her, she pushed at his chest. “Neteyam, look at me,” she said.
He glanced at her for a fraction of a second before finding her breasts far more interesting, leaning down to sooth his tongue over the deep indents he’d made on the right one.
“Nete-yam,” she tried again, voice breathy and strained and pleading.
“Hmm?” he hummed in faux interest as he curled his fingers deeper.
“Why won’t you- f-fuck!” she stuttered out when he found that one particular spot inside of her, but she stayed strong. “Why won’t you look at me?”
“Leave it, Xi.”
She didn’t like his response, so she tried a different tactic.
“Eyes, Neteyam,” she ordered, causing him to freeze. A frustrated mewl left her when his fingers stilled too, she was so close to coming.
“I can’t,” he said, almost as if he were mad at himself.
“Why not?” she asked, biting her cheek to stop from laughing at his stubbornness. “Tell me why you can’t look at me in the eyes, handsome.”
“Stop,” he warned.
“Unless…they're bothering you?” she teased in a sing-song voice. “Are my eyes too mu- AH SHIT!”
He had effectively shut her up by grinding the heel of his palm on her clit while rubbing right against that one particular spongy spot again.
“Come for me, Xilä,” he ordered.
Her breath hitched and Neteyam smirked against her collarbone when he felt her tensing up.
Fire licked her inside out as a coil tightened low in her abdomen. Xilä’s thighs quaked and her back bowed, then a sharp cry ripped from her lips as she gushed all over his hand.
More than pleased with himself, he helped her through the waves, whispering words of praise into her pointed ear.
“Good?” he eventually asked once again, checking in on her as the pads of his fingertips rubbed her along her swollen folds.
“Good,” she replied with a happy hum.
Feeling his movement, Xi looked down to see him slathering his shaft with her slick- the arousing sight alone brought back that flickering coil in her lower abdomen to life once more.
“I’ll go slow, alright?” he assured, when he caught her staring. “Tell me if you need me to stop, okay?”
She nodded.
“Baby.”
“Yes. Yes, okay,” she said quickly, giving him the verbal confirmation he was seeking.
She inhaled deeply when she felt him plunge his fingers into her one last time for good measure before pulling out to guide his tip to her entrance.
“Relax, sweetheart,” he soothed, feeling her nerves through the bond. “Don’t tense up.” It was a hypocritical thing to say he knew since he was nothing but tense.
Xilä forced her muscles to relax. She winced when he gave that first push forward, he was much thicker than all three of his fingers combined so it was a bit of a squeeze.
“Fuuuck,” Neteyam breathed.
Xi squirmed uncomfortably at the foreign sensation, holding in a whimper at the slight twinge of pain. While Neteyam, although extremely tense and raging to keep control of himself, took his time to ease his way in- slowly stretching her, molding her around him to perfection.
Dragging, in, out, in, out, in, out, in, out.
He’d only pull out just enough so that his tip still kept her entrance open, before delving back in- each time, deeper than the last.
Xilä’s jaw fell open when he was finally fully seated inside of her.
“Oh Eywa. You’re so deep,” she said in awe, struggling to control her breathing. Fingers creeping downward to rest on her lower abdomen, she gasped. “I can feel you. Right here,” she said, showing him the slight bulge.
It took a few moments for her to adjust to having him inside of her, but once the slight pain turned into a dull tingle, Xilä couldn’t help but marvel at the feeling of their connection.
It was incredible.
“Fuck, fuck. Xilä I can’t. I need to move. Please. I need-”
“Take me,” she said, giving him the okay. “Make me yours.”
Xilä grunted from the first slam of his hips. She gasped with the second and moaned loudly at the third.
And then Neteyam was wild and relentless. Her breasts shook with each roll, each rut as he growled into the skin of her neck.
Palms flat against his back, her nails dug deep into his flesh.
It didn’t take very long for her to feel the familiar spring inside of her come to life again, twisting and turning, coiling tighter each time as it prepared to snap- to break, to explode.
“Shit. I’m going to come,” he cried hoarsely, feeling her clenched firmly around him, locking him in a sweet but tortuous grip.  “Are you close?”
“A-Almost,” she panted.
Sneaking a hand between them, Neteyam worked his fingers against her swollen clit, quickly drawing her closer to her impending rapture.
Eyes rolling, toes curling and body quivering, Xilä screamed his name. What felt like an eruption of molten fire, began to spread through her body like never before, sending rippling shockwave after shockwave.
Breath erratic and wild, Neteyam chased after her, cursing when his entire body turned taut. He twitched inside of her as hot spurts of come filled her, groaning when her walls continued to pulse, practically milking him of everything he had.
“Oh fucking hell, Xilä,” he rasped, collapsing completely on top of her with an awed laugh.
“Oof! ‘Teyam! I can’t breathe!” Xilä exclaimed with a breathy laugh that instantly turned into a wince when he shifted, his pelvis dragging along her already throbbing clit.
“Sorry,” he apologized, gently easing up onto his forearms as he caught his breath.
“No, I didn’t mean go away,” she protested, locking her propped up thighs to his hips and capturing his cheek in her palm.
Xilä smiled. “You’re looking at me now,” she teased, loving the intimacy of him still fully sheathed inside of her as his eyes bore into her soul.
“How do you feel?” Neteyam asked, gaze soft on her as he drew a palm down to caress the skin of her thigh.
There were remnants of a dull twinging ache between her thighs but the bliss Xi was feeling at the moment countered it all.
“Like I want to do that again soon,” she answered with a purred hum, eyes closed as if in pure ecstasy.
His eyes darkened at the sound of her voice and he felt himself begin to harden again. “I think I can make that happen,” he said, surging down to steal a kiss.
~
Later that night, after a few more rounds of intense lovemaking, Xilä was exhausted.
She had had a long day after all.
After Iknimaya, there was the ceremony and feast. Then there was the pairings festivity where she danced to heart’s content followed by a slew of the most brain numbing orgasms she’d ever experienced.
So suffice to say she was completely beat and extremely sore.
“Hey, no sleep just yet sweetheart,” Neteyam called softly, rousing her from her doze.
“Teyam,” she whined unhappily, when he pulled her to sit in front of him, jelly thighs draped over his as their still connected queues draped beside them.
Neteyam stretched to the side, producing a little pouch he had stashed away, and Xilä, too tired to even be curious at what he was up to, slumped into his chest, cheek finding a comfortable spot to rest.
“How do you feel, Xi?” he asked, lifting her hand to unwrap her compression bandage.
“Sore,” she rasped, voice scratchy since she’d done a lot of screaming that night. “But not bad,” she answered with a yawn as she cuddled further into his warmth.
Moving quickly and with precision, he treated her bruised wrist with the balm his grandmother had given him, clenching his jaw to contain his bubbling anger at the sight of the ugly marks still there.
When he finished, he rewrapped her wrist with a new bandage.
“Back up, baby,” he said gently, pushing her off his chest. “Drink,” he ordered, handing her a vial of pain tonic before stretching over for a water skin and making her drink half of it in one go too.
“I love it when you do this. It makes me feel all fluttery inside,” she admitted through squinty eyes after a gulp of water.
“Do what?” he asked, unable to keep the grin off his face at the sight of her sex mused hair, kiss swollen lips and soft sleepy expression.
“Take care of me.”
“Oh yeah?” he hushed out, feeling himself melt at her confession. “Well I’m all yours now, Xi. You’ve locked me down. So I’m going to be taking care of you for the rest of your life.”
“Sounds terrible,” she sassed in mock sarcasm while simultaneously swooning on the inside.
Neteyam laughed.
“What’s so funny?” she mumbled with a grumpy frown.
“Nothing. You’re just really cute when you’re half asleep,” he said, taking the water pouch from her hands and guiding her to lay down.
Hydrated and unable to keep up any longer, Xilä was asleep within seconds.
Quite tired himself, Neteyam stretched out alongside his wife and pulled her into his arms.
His wife.
Shit.
How’d he get so lucky?
He peered down at her, eyes tracing over her relaxed features. He could feel her calm through their still connected bond. It washed over him, subduing him into a lulled trance, until he too drifted off.
~
“You’re kidding!” Xilä snapped with an angry scoff. “But they were the assholes that started it in the first place! They were picking on Kiri! Why did you guys have to apologize?”
Neteyam smirked up at his gorgeous mate. She was seated on top of one of the nearby boulders, removing the tangles from her clean damp hair with a whittled comb while he continued to relax in the warm rippling water after their shared bath.
“Dad’s orders,” he shrugged. “We were the ones visiting their clan, so it was our responsibility. Dad had warned us beforehand that we had to be on our best behaviours and in his eyes since Lo’ak struck the first punch, it was on us.”
“Well that’s just stupid. You were their guests. They should have been more welcoming and not judgmental little assholes,” she said defiantly.
“It’s in the past anyway,” he said, more for her comfort, seeing the flicker of her protectiveness begin to spark and enjoying it way too much. “We were just all idiot teenagers back then,” he smiled.
“Well,” she sniffed, “if I ever come across this Ao’nung and his skxawng friends, I’ll be sure to give him a piece of my mind,” she said, combing the strands a bit harder than before.
“Oh yeah?” Neteyam teased, getting to his feet to close the short distance between them.
With her seated on the high boulder, they were at eye level now. “Don’t talk too soon sweetheart, you might just get your chance,” he said, spreading her thighs so he could slot between them.
“W-what do you mean?” Xi asked, slightly distracted, swallowing hard at the sight of water droplets rippling down her husband’s delicious build. Eyes swooping lower, she sucked in her bottom lip with a deep inhale.
“Dad’s got a few talks in the works. Majority of the well connected clan leaders are looking to get together for a meeting sometime early next year. They want to create a network- more trading, better and easier communication methods, cross training and sharing of knowledge, just an all round discussion of change for the future ahead.”
“Wow,” Xilä said awed. “But wait, how will that give me a chance to speak to Ao’nung?”
“Tonowari, the Metkayina’s olo'eyktan, offered to host the meeting at his clan...I'm going to be in attendance, and I’d love it if my wife were at my side,” he said, tucking a strand behind her ear.
“She would be honored,” Xilä whispered, smoothing her hands down his chest to palm at the panes of his abdomen.
Dragging her forward until she was seated at the edge of the rock, Neteyam kissed her. Pulling his queue over his shoulder, he broke their kiss and jerked his head, gesturing for her to do the same.
Tsaheylu made, Neteyam fucked her right there. He made her come twice before allowing himself to follow, filling her full of his seed, fingers reaching down to make sure she was stuffed with every last drop.
It was already their fourth day of marital bliss and every single moment had been incredible so far.
Xilä was a fucking dream and Neteyam was addicted.
He had stayed true to his promise and kept her naked the entire time.
Sex to her, he soon realized, was just like their training lessons. She was a quick learner- eager to please, eager to explore...and eager to kill him, he thought.
The moment her stare pierced him the first time she wrapped those pretty pouty lips around his swollen mushroom tip, he exploded. He had come in an instant, as if he were once again a fucking horny teenager.
And when he thought that was already bad enough, his little mate continued her torture by sucking him dry- eyes watering as her mouth swallowed him as far as her throat would allow before hollowing her cheeks as she released him with an audible POP.
Then while his poor soul was gasping for air, wondering what the fuck had just happened, she had the audacity to smile up at him and ask if she’d “done it right?”
Suffice to say he had her on her back within seconds. Her voice turned hoarse that night from all the screaming she’d done as his head stayed buried between her thighs. Tongue and fingers relentless as they teased, denied, edged and then finally gave her orgasm after orgasm.
Sex with Xilä was a whole new world for Neteyam. Her body was his map to explore and their bond, their connection- Tsaheylu, only made things intensely better.
Her pleasure was important to him, he was addicted to learning what did it for her.
Like how she loved her tail tugged on while she bounced on his lap, or how she’d mewl and moan and pant and beg whenever he edged her with his tongue and fingers, even how she’d clench around him in a vice like grip if he whispered words of praise in her ear.
There weren’t many things that she disliked, but he learned that lesson quite quickly after he made the mistake of wrapping his hand around the front of her throat. She had completely freaked out, gasping for air even though he hadn’t even given the slightest squeeze.
Feeling terrible, Neteyam had apologized profusely even after she assured him it was fine.
The turn out after that wasn’t bad though. Because that day he learned another thing about her…he could make her come by sucking on her tits alone if he gave them attention long enough.
And it was a fucking glorious sight to see.
On their fifth day, they agreed it would be their last. With all their lovemaking, they burned through their calories and so too their food. Neteyam had mentally berated himself for not packing more to last the entire week.
“How do you think our tent’s coming along?” Xi wondered as they sat across each other at the folding table. “Oh, UNO!” she yelled quickly, placing a red number three card in the pile with a happy tail wag.
“Sorry sweetheart, draw four,” Neteyam smirked with a “ha! Got you,” raise of his eyebrows, grinning at her pout and little nose scrunch. “I hope it’s finished,” he replied to her question.  “Our families are going to go crazy when they find out we came back mated. We’ll need a place to hide,” he joked.
“I can’t wait to decorate it. One of Sal’s friends makes these amazing tapestries. I think I’ll ask her to make one for us if she’s got free time- one with all the colours, I like those the most. Oh and I was thinking we could maybe reuse your hammock- if that’s okay? I think I actually prefer it to my bed, and it’ll be big enough for the both of us anyway,” she rambled with an excited expression as she rearranged her new drawn cards. “Also where do we get the hanging chimes from? You know the ones that jingles to let you know you have compan- What?” Xi asked, flushing when she caught him staring.
“Nothing,” Neteyam said with a soft smile. “I just can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you, is all.”
Xilä melted. “I can’t wait either.”
After he won that round, they continued discussing their plans for their home. He loved that she was so opinionated on what she wanted for it. He knew it would be her first official home- one that she created and he was more than happy to make sure she got everything she wanted.
Midway conversation, he noticed her squirm a little, glancing down at her lap a bit uncomfortably.
“C’mere baby,” he said, trying to quash his knowing grin. “Are you dripping?” he asked, as she settled against his chest.
“Mm,” she hummed in acknowledgment. “So, is this a thing that’s usually done?” she asked curiously. She noticed over their stay so far, he developed a habit.
She felt him shrug as he slipped a hand between her parted thighs, thick digits stuffing back his leaking seed into her.
“Never done this with another girl before, if that’s what you’re asking.”
“You seem to like doing it,” she noted in amusement, jerking in his hold when he accidentally grazed her still over her sensitive clit.
“I like everything with you,” he answered, in complete honesty, pressing a tender kiss to her pointed ear.
But it was the truth. There was just something about having her full of his come that he loved. It was intoxicating was all he could explain it as.
Xilä released a leisured sigh, relaxing into his arms as she took in the beauty of their hideaway. “I’m going to miss this place,” she said. “I’m also not looking forward to our journey home,” she grumbled somewhat, squeezing at her aching thighs knowing fully well the ride back wouldn’t be any help.
“Want a massage?” Neteyam offered, fingers still playing between her folds.
Xi snorted. “No thank you. I know well by now what your massages lead to. I’ve learnt my lesson after you offered last night. You’re the reason they ache in the first place,” she sassed.
“I’m offering a serious one this time. I don’t want you hurting on the ride back,” he said with a concerned frown.
“Alright,” she agreed. “After lunch though. I’m getting peckish,” she said, halting his wrist when his playing became a bit too deliberate. She was still recovering from being pounded on her hands and knees not even an hour ago.
Tilting her head up along his shoulder to meet his gaze, she brought his fingers to her lips, sucking each one clean.
Neteyam groaned at the sight. “Oh you are such a spicy little minx you, know that?”
Xilä laughed. “So you’ve said a few times,” she teased, twisting up onto her knees to plonk herself in his lap. She hugged him around the waist, face snuggled into the crook of his neck- just wanting to be close to him.
“I thought you were hungry,” he smiled, pulling her in closer. Ever since their very first hug, he always marveled over just how perfect she fit in his arms.
“Mmm yeah, but this is better,” she sighed in content. “Just a little longer please.”
A comforting silence passed between them as they stayed wrapped up in each other. Only the sounds of the trickling waterfall, the dull roar of the wind and distant cries of creatures could be heard. It was peaceful and all was calm.
“Sometimes I think I’ll wake up and realize it was all a dream,” Xi murmured against his skin.
“What was all a dream?”
“You. Sal, Jxo. Everything that’s happened since I arrived here…Teyam, I never thought I’d be blessed like this…I don’t know what I did to deserve it. I get these feelings sometimes that I’d wake up back in Li’ona and realize it wasn’t all real, and you were gone, and you weren’t really mine.”
“Xi,” he frowned, trying to tilt back to see her face, but she didn’t budge.
“I shouldn’t have said anything. It’s stupid I know-”
“It’s not stupid,” he said firmly. “It’s not. Xilä, please look at me.”
“Let’s forget it, I don’t mean to be a downer during our time together,” she said, sitting to face him with a forced smile.
“No, we are not dropping this. Xi, babe, I want you to tell me these things- I need you too, okay? So that not only do you get it out of your system, but so I can talk you out of thinking you're not worth any of it. To tell you that those tiny whispers in your head are wrong.”
Looking down, he shifted her on his lap so that he could tear off a string of beads from the front of his loincloth.
Taking a section of her hair, he began braiding the strands, weaving in the beads as he did.
“I carved these myself years ago,” he said quietly as he worked. “Here.” He gently guided her fingers to the coloured pieces. “Do you feel that? Look. Do you see them? Do they feel and look real to you?” he asked, peering down at her, pointed ears twitching earnestly.
Xilä nodded, brows pinched together in confusion.
“If I’m not around whenever you get those feelings again. Use this. Look at them, feel them. They’re real Xilä Sully. I am real. And I am happy to remind you of it whenever you need me too,” he said seriously.
At a loss for words, Xilä simply smiled- a real one this time, then said, “I love you Neteyam Sully.”
~
After their lunch, a massage that led to one last round of lovemaking and bath, they began to pack up their things- loading up his direhorse who had spent the few days roaming free around the area just outside niwan loreyu.
The moment they crossed the border, reaching the first cluster of communities, Neteyam could tell something was off.
Hearing his name yelled, Neteyam spotted Spider chasing wildly after them and instantly pulled on Antoyle’s reins.
“Seriously man, why the hell is your comm off?” Spider spat as he ran to close the distance. “Look never mind, just go! It’s D’avi. She’s in labor and asking for Xi.”
“Oh Eywa!” Xilä exclaimed from her seat in front of him.
Charging off, Neteyam got them there in record speed.
Without a glance at the gathered friends and family members, Xilä flung herself off the direhorse and headed straight into her sister’s tent.
The interior had been rearranged somewhat- the usual way the healers normally did in order to prepare for a birth.
Mo’at was stooped between a panting D’avi’s spread legs, chanting quietly. Yalnïk sat behind his wife, keeping her propped up- dabbing at her forehead with a cloth while Sal and Yalnïk’s mother were on either side of her, holding her hands, fussing over her as they spoke soothing words of encouragement. And then there was Kiri, who shuffled around, assisting her grandmother from the side lines.
“Oh D’av, I’m here, I’m here,” Xilä cooed, moving to crouch on the same side as Sal, who let her hold D’avi’s hand instead. The mother kissed her adoptive daughter on the temple, more than happy to have her back home.
“Well you sure took your time,” her sister sassed between labored breaths, accepting the kiss on the cheek Xilä gave her in greeting. “You are lucky my children decided to wait for their aunt to arrive.”
“They love me already,” Xi teased easily, brushing away a sweat soaked strand of hair from D'avi's forehead. “You alright there Yalnïk?” she asked, noticing her brother-in-law’s greenish hue.
Before he could respond however, his wife snapped.
“Why do people keep asking him if he is okay? I AM the one birthing not one but two of his massive babies! Have you seen his head? Two of those are about to be pushed out of me right now! Do I look okay? Ask me! Not him! Ask me! Because I am not okay, alright? It has been HOURS and they refuse to come out! He is the reason I am here! The idiot put two of his massive headed babies in me and I am not okay! It’s all his fault! Him and his stupid big fat dick- OH EYWA!” she cried out as a wave of pain hit her.
Xilä was biting down hard on her cheek as her sister ranted hysterically. Glancing around she could tell the two mothers and even Kiri were also highly amused, and like her were trying their best to school their features. Her brother-in-law on the other hand, turned crimson.
“Breathe D’av, breathe. Hey, look at me,” she whispered, while D’avi panted. “You’re going to do great, okay? You’re one of the strongest women I know. You’ve got this.”
Tears welling in her eyes, D’avi tightened her grip on her hand. “I'm so happy you are here with me, Xi. I don’t think I could do this without you,” she admitted softly. “You’ll help me right?” she pleaded, showing off a rare side of being vulnerable.
“Every step of the way,” Xilä assured, kissing the back of her clammy hand.
“It is time,” Tsahìk declared.
~
When Neteyam returned to the outskirts of D’avi and Yalnïk’s tent after unloading Antoyle of their packed belongings, he was surprised to see the man standing outside- staring at the closed flap where D’avi’s cries could be heard.
“Yalnïk?” he said as he drew near. “Why are you out here?” Neteyam asked quietly, sending a hesitant nod in greeting to a pissed off looking Jxo who stood nearby with Yalnïk’s father and twin brother.
Yalnïk, who seemed a bit queasy, side-eyed him guiltily. “I got kicked out,” he whispered reluctantly.
“What? Why?”
Rubbing the back of his neck, the soon to be father released an embarrassed sigh. “I looked…..then I fainted. So the women kicked me out,” he admitted, frowning helplessly at the closed flap when D’avi cried out again.
“Ah….Right,” Neteyam said, nodding in sympathy before giving him a pat on the back in comfort.
“Is he still glaring?” the fisherman asked under his breath, lips barely moving.
Catching his meaning, Neteyam found Jxo’s cold hard stare before quickly averting his eyes with a fake cough. “Yep.”
“Fuck. He’s never going to let me live this down…Hey can you piss him off again like last time, so I can get off the hook?” he joked half seriously.
They both chuckled then instantly sobered up when their father-in-law made his way over to them.
“How was the trip?” the elder asked, gruffly, glare cutting into the side of poor Yalnïk’s head once more.
“Um, good. I’d say it was good,” Neteyam said awkwardly, avoiding the man’s obvious appraisal, hoping he couldn’t suddenly read minds and see the flashes of what exactly happened between him and Xilä on said trip.
There was no way in hell he was mentioning that he’d taken the man’s daughter as his mate while he was in this pissed a mood.
Neteyam was saved from Jxo’s further questions however, when the cry of a baby’s voice rang out, startling them all.
~
A girl and a boy.
D’avi birthed two healthy, gorgeous babies, and Xilä was already in love.
She was not the only one it seemed. Sal, Jxo and both of Yalnïk’s parents were completely smitten with their grandbabies.
When the okay was given for them to come in, Xilä stood on the sidelines as she witnessed their joys of pure unconditional love.
Big, gruff Jxo was soft and tender as he greeted his daughter first. Kissing a still sobbing D’avi on the forehead, telling her how proud he was of her. Sal was also a slew of tears as she held out baby L’eo to meet his grandfather for the first time.
Meanwhile tiny baby L’eya who was nestled in the arms of her tearful father was being cooed and awed over by her other grandparents. Yalnïk’s brother grinned widely as he welcomed his twin to fatherhood, teasing him that his own twins now each had their own little playmate.
These two babies had not even been in the world a full hour, and yet they already had so many people who loved them.
It was a beautiful sight and Xilä’s heart felt full.
An arm wrapped around her shoulder, pulling her in for a comforting side hug. It was Tsahìk. Kiri had left not too long ago, carrying their supplies back to the healer’s tent.
“Congratulations to you too my dear,” Mo’at murmured, causing Xi’s head to flick to hers in surprise. “Oh come now child, don’t look at me like that. Did you honestly think I could not sense your bond to my grandson the minute you stepped into this tent?”
Xilä flushed, pointed ears tingling with embarrassment that it had been so obvious to the elder.
“Don’t worry, I won’t say a word until you two are ready,” the grandmother continued, turning back to survey the sweet affair before them. “But this means I can begin to advance your training even further now.”
“My training?”
“Mm yes...It won’t be for years of course, but you will make a fine Tsahìk when the time comes,” Mo’at said frankly.
Xilä’s jaw dropped.
~
“Xi darling,” Sal called softly when she re-entered the tent much later that night. “Neteyam is outside for you,” she said, reaching out to take the drowsy baby girl from her arms.
The tent was quiet, save for the suckling sounds of L’eo feasting on an exhausted D’avi’s breast and the low snores of Yalnïk at her side. The poor man had been up with his wife since the night before when her contractions first began.
“Alright thanks, I’ll be right back,” Xi whispered in response, easing the tiny baby into her grandmother’s arms.
Heading outside, Xilä flung herself at Neteyam the moment she was within reach and he caught her around the waist with ease.
Feet dangling off the ground, Neteyam took advantage of the position to walk them into the shadows between two tents.
“Hi sweetheart,” he murmured, hiking her higher to steal a kiss.
“Hi handsome,” she smiled, titling her jaw to grant him further access when his lips began to make a path across her skin.
“How’s D’avi and the twins?” he asked, settling her back down on the low grass, keeping her locked in his arms.
“They’re great. D’av is resting and the twins- gosh Teyam, they’re the sweetest little things. I can’t wait for you to meet them,” she whispered with gleaming eyes.
“That’s amazing,” murmured, pecking her on the lips again, like the addicted man he was. “Did you have dinner? I can go get you something- and for D’avi too of course,” he offered, ears twitching in concern as he peered down at her.
She shook her head, heart fluttering at his sweetness. “Sal’s cook mates brought us a really nice spread a couple hours ago. I had two entire bowls of hot stew.”
“Okay good. Are you staying here tonight? To help out?” he asked.
Xi bit her lip and nodded in response. It was on the tip of her tongue to apologize for choosing to stay the night here, instead of with him, but the knowing look he shot her had her swallowing the apology. She knew he didn’t mind, but she still couldn’t help feeling a small pang of guilt.
“Listen,” she started a bit apprehensively. “I was thinking…so this is a really big moment for D’avi right now…and I don’t-” her mouth twisted, unsure how to word what she was trying to say.
“Baby, it’s fine,” Neteyam assured, reading her worry all too well. “I don’t mind waiting to tell our families about us. It’ll be a good thing- Hey I’m serious,” he emphasized, seeing her uncertainty. “I honestly don’t mind stalling all the impending fuss and lectures waiting for us,” he joked. “But you’re right. This is your sister’s moment.”
She mentally sighed in relief, sending a quiet thank you to Eywa for blessing her with the most thoughtful mate in the universe. “Thank you…Um, also, Teyam, it's your birthday’s next week. What’s the council going to say?” she frowned, worrying her bottom lip.
“That’s for me to handle Xi. Don’t worry about them, alright? How about we go see our tent later tomorrow?” he asked instead, steering the conversation to a lighter topic.
It seemed to work because Xi lit up the way he loved to see. “Okay,” she agreed quickly. “Oh and maybe after we can go for a quick fly around? I want to see my Journey again.”
“Whatever you want, baby,” he sang, bending at the waist to lift her by the thighs, just because he could. “Now, listen here wife. I’m going to be sleeping all alone tonight. So I’m going to need something to remember you by,” he said in mock seriousness, nudging her nose with his expectantly.
Xilä laughed at his dramatics, but eagerly leaned in anyway to kiss her husband goodbye.
Before Neteyam knew it, three fast weeks flew by.
His days were filled with the tedious works of reinforcing their borders, upping their security from roaming palulukans and heading numerous planning and development strategy meetings.
Whereas Xilä’s days were split between helping D’avi settle into motherhood and continuing her studies with his grandmother.
On those few nights when Xi wasn’t at her sister’s, or he wasn’t on watch, Neteyam would sneak into her room at Sal and Jxo’s, where they were back to being as silent as possible.
Jxo however, seemed to have developed a sixth sense overtime and would often drop smartass remarks to him.
“You dragged your feet last night. I thought you were a highly skilled warrior?” or “Why don’t you just save yourself the trouble and wake the whole village with all that racket you make sneaking in. You’re not fooling anybody.”
Suffice to say and much to Xilä’s displeasure, Neyetam refused to touch her in any sexual capacity while under Sal and Jxo’s roof. And so they had become creative when it came to their lovemaking.
Then there was Neteyam’s birthday.
Twenty-four years of life.
It had been a quiet affair after much begging on his part. He really didn’t want any grand celebrations or masses of attention.
His family held an intimate gathering at their home tent where halfway through, he and Xi snuck out and made their escape from Camp. They spent the remainder of the day, flying, relaxing and enjoying gratuitous amounts of extremely loud sex- niwan loreyu had been a most welcomed hideaway once more.
When he revealed he was officially a taken man to the entire Council the day after, almost all of the members congratulated him- most looking relieved he was finally in a secure match- others not as pleased with who he had chosen.
Fe’ska, Leati’s mother had turned sour. He knew even after admitting his betrothal to Xi, the woman still held out the hope that he’d end up with her daughter.
Jake, who was seated at the head of the table however, simply smirked and sent his son a “good on you,” nod as his eyes shined proudly.
The Council however were against Neteyam putting off the announcement of his pairing with Xilä, but his father had finally put his foot down and overruled them all, citing that his son would do that on his own terms and that now they were all being “fucking ridiculous” with their demands.
Neteyam appreciated it when Jake then held them all to an oath of secrecy.
But that was two weeks ago…
Now, however.
The jig was up.
The moment Neteyam walked into D’avi and Yalnïk’s tent that morning to check in on Xi, he stopped dead in his tracks.
‘Shit. Here we go,’ he thought with an accepting sigh of defeat, feeling the sting of the stares from the women seated around the table before him.
They knew….
~
Oh my goodness. This took way too long to write and edit and I lost some of it- just DRAMA with this part.
But enough about that....you guysssss. They're mated! Gah I could cry because it's been such a journey.
I hope I did the love scenes justice. I just really wanted fluff Fluff FLUFFY throughout this part.
Also, I did that thing again when the part was getting way too long. So I had to cut and put it in the next one.
Anywhoo...I hope you guys enjoyed it.
Please let me know your thoughts, you already know I love hearing from you all :)
Ps. I have no full knowledge about the Na’vi and their body anatomy and how everything works. So I used my imagination for the first time sex and baby birthing scene.
Ps. Ps. So it ended on a bit of a cliff hanger which I absolutely hate doing. But I figured you guys could get involved and share how you think the women in Neteyam and Xi's life may react to them hiding the fact that they're already mates.

Secrets of the pitch part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1 minute left, there was no possible way to win; we had lost the World Cup.

I sit on the bench, knowing that it was all over everything I had worked for since I was 3. I would never get the only trophy I really ever wanted. I watch the ref as she brings the whistle up to her lips. The girls drop, and the Spanish players run to each other.

I just sit there and watch everything. All I have ever wanted was that dam trophy. We were so close, and now I'm retiring without it. Nobody knows about that yet. I want to try and play this next season with Barcelona, but I honestly don't know if I can. I've not talked to Lucy about it yet. I probably should, but that's for a later date.

I walk on to the pitch, and Alexia comes over and hugs me. I hug her back and let a few of my tears fall. She goes to say something, but she's called over by 🤮 i don’t like him

Time skip

We walk to get our medal. As we walk past the trophy, it reminds us of what we lost. Why couldn't we just win? next the Spanish players get them. I sit on the floor because my knee hurts badly. We all watch the Spanish team lift the trophy.

We get our stuff, and don't change, going on the bus back to the hotel was quiet. Me and Lucy are sharing a room. I go into the bath room and start the shower. I let the tears fall. How was I going to tell Lucy? I can't yet.

Time skip to getting back to Barcelona

Me Lucy and Kira just got off the plane. Mapi and Ingrid are picking us up. We go to baggage claim and pick up our bags. Going out to the exit we see them standing there. We hug and don't say anything. The car ride back to our apartment was quite. Nobody knows what to say.

It's been about an hour since me and Lucy got back to the apartment. We have just been cuddling on the couch, not saying anything. "Lucy, we need to talk." She sits up and has mixed emotions on her face. "Yeah, what's up? What's wrong?" I just look at her "Lucy, I'm going back home."

She has a confused look on her face."When will you be back?" looking away, knowing what I'm about to say is going to start a fight."I'm not coming back." She gets up."What are you talking about? You can't just go back there. You have a contract here. We have a house here." I try to get her hand."Lucy, listen to me." She doesn't, and just goes to the bed room. We had both said we were never going back to Manchester because of what happened there. She didn't let me finish".

about 10 minutes later I walk up to the door "Lucy we need to talk ". getting no response. I decided to open the door and see her asleep. It's 9:30 pm. We have a meeting in Barcelona tomorrow, so I just get in bed and go to sleep. Hopefully I can talk to her about it tomorrow
————————————————————————————
Ok so I've decided to make this more then 2 parts but what do you all think happened at Man City that would make Lucy have that kind of reaction
Stay safe eat drink water have a good day/night

Sleeping Habits
Genre: fluff, established relationship, domestic, idol chan
Word Count: 1.8k
Warning: anxiety/insomnia topic, light suggestive lines
Summary: Two 20 something year olds that can fall in love, but can’t fall asleep
A/N: Happy 5-STAR Comeback Day! It’s my first official comeback and I’m celebrating by streaming while finishing this short one-shot that I’ve been putting off since April. I didn’t proof read this at all, please let me know about any errors. Anyways… I’m back on my self indulgence, bc the world inside my head is better than my real world anyways, might as well make it a good one. Fun fact (that only I care about, but I like to over share): My bias for Chan started as soon as I read that he was born 1 year minus a day apart from me. Enough about my delusions, this is also my first time writing about SKZ so here goes nothing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You arrive home exhausted after a 12 hour shift at the hospital you work at, tossing your heels at the entrance of the cozy apartment you share with Chan.
“Honey, I’m home.” You say with a singing tone making your way to leave your belongings on the living room sofa so you don’t forget them the next morning. Checking the kitchen to put away some washed plates and glasses.
“Hey, baby. Did you have a good day?” You hear him shuffling around before you see him, wearing his usual black shirt, black basketball shorts and socks. He kisses the crown of your head, engulfing you into a back hug, hands gripping your hips. Quickly turning you around giving you a sweet gentle kiss before you can even open your mouth to say a word.
“Tiring but good, a lot of patients showed great progress today and that keeps me going. How about you, did you finish the track you were working on before I left?” You bend your arms to rub his back until your fingers squeeze his shoulders to release the tension moving along to the nape of his neck.
After almost a year of living together you’re used to his habit of waking up, saying good morning with his groggy voice, sealing his greeting with a kiss and heading straight to the studio. Because he can’t do anything else before revising the work he did the night before listening with a fresh mind to get his genius creativity flowing. You do your morning routine and put down the breakfast beside his work desk, worried that he’ll forget to eat for a while if he’s consumed by the music. Sometimes he’s so excited about a song that he rambles trying to explain all the details of the arrangement, accidentally making you sprint to leave for work to avoid being late. Everyday you’re tempted to stay for a little bit longer just to appreciate his sparkling eyes talking about his new endeavors.
“I did! I’ll share it with the kids tomorrow to get their feedback.” The kids aren’t really kids… well kinda. Since your relationship with Chan started they have teased him that if they could kick him out of they group they would just to have you as their leader. Specially Seungmin claiming that Chan is getting too old, even though you are closer in age to your boyfriend than him. But you wouldn’t dare to try to keep them apart, because they are his family and they have become yours too.
“That’s amazing, I know they’ll love it! I have noticed that you’ve been working really hard these past few weeks. So hopefully you can get some rest.” Now you’re clinging to him putting most of your weight on him and he has no choice but drag you around.
“Yeah I’m glad that is done. Honestly we both tend to overwork so much that when we have time for us we miss working, but when we are back to the routine we are exhausted.” The ultimate contradiction of you both being extreme perfectionists. He leans besides the fridge and you look up to him, his cute droopy eyes make you feel like you’re wrapped in a warm hug.
“I really want us to do better about relaxing for our own sanity. It’s a work in progress.” You lift your hands to caress his dimples and cheeks with your thumb.
“Speaking about that, should I make some tea and call it an early night?” He kindly offers, opening cabinets in search of mugs and the chamomile honey lemon tea packets.
“Yes please! I’ll get out of these clothes and get ready for bed asap.” You’re endeared by his thoughtfulness as he makes a warm tea for him, but sets aside yours adding extra honey and putting it in the fridge because if it isn’t sweet and cold you make faces of disgust just by tasting a drop.
“Do you need any help with that?” He checks you up and down with a cheeky smile, the clinking of the spoon swirling around the tea stopping for a brief second.
“Um that would jeopardize our mission, sir.” You say it with a lower voice, rolling your eyes playfully and watch as he blushes and his ears turn a little bit red.
“Oh… right.” He shakes his head as if he’s brushing away his suggestive thoughts.
After taking a long hot shower, you change into a sweatshirt and comfy shorts sitting in front of the vanity desk and mirror. The hue of the night lights around the room setting the mood of relaxation, Chan spent an entire day setting them up and cutely annoying you changing the colors every second. You hear the door slightly open while you’re brushing your hair to prevent the frizz, it will probably get tangled anyways, but just doing this little things give you comfort.
“What you doing?” He says softly peeking his head through the door, you turn and smile at him extending your arms signaling with your hands to come in.
“Just brushing this crazy hair, did you wash up already?” You sigh exasperated grabbing the tea he prepared.
“Yeah, I did before you came home.” He settles his mug besides yours as he quickly moves to the corner of the bed near you. Motioning to scoot closer to him and hand him the brush.
“You’re the best.” He treats you with the type of care that makes you fall in love over and over again.
“I’m not hurting you, right?” He asks, worry on his tone. Stopping to hear your answer before continuing, drinking the rest of his tea.
“Not at all, you’re really good at this actually.” You reassure him because he loves doing this for you is turning into part of his night time routine. He finishes, running his fingers through your hair and kissing the crown of your head as you sip the last drops.
A few minutes later after going to the bathroom to brush your teeth, you both slip under the blankets. Chan plays Pokemon while listening to his favorite playlist while you attempt to read a chapter of a book, but your mind always wonder to random things instead.
“You know what we need?” Your out of the blue excitement makes him jump a little, holding on to your wrists because you hit his arm playfully asking for attention.
“A rocking chair! Think about it, if its big enough we can both fit and take turns.” You start searching for them on the phone to show him different options.
“Am I completely missing the point or does this sound a bit… naughty?” He stares deep into your eyes cocking his head to the side.
“Get your head out of the guter! Its another technique to fall asleep we could try. When I was little my grandma used to hold me and I was out like a light after swaying for a bit.” You gently slap the side of his head as if that would solve anything and he laughs.
“Well, we can definitely try.” He stands up to turnoff the lights, getting back to the bed you pat the space in front of you to cuddle him. You wrap him in a hug crossing your arms on his back moving your hands to rock him a little as if you were on the rocking chair. He lets out a deep breath aligning his head with yours, welcoming the comfortable silence.
“A la nanita nana, nanita nana, nanita ella, mi niño tiene sueño, bendito sea, bendito sea.” He raises his eyebrows surprised by your singing, but he doesn’t say anything worried that you’ll stop. It’s a famous Hispanic lullaby that at first was intended as a Christmas song about Jesus, but it passed down from generation to generation to help children fall asleep.
“A la nanita nana, nanita nana, nanita ella, mi Channie tiene sueño, bendito sea, bendito sea.” You gently stroke between his eyes and down his nose with your pinky finger. He gives you a soft smile with his eyes closing like crescent moons when he hears his nickname.
“I’m not fair that I’m drifting away while you sing like an angel. I wish I could rush to the studio and record your voice so I can listen to it on loop when I’m away on tour and imagine that you’re there beside me.” He has confessed before that he struggles to find comfort in strange places like hotel rooms and sometimes the time difference doesn’t help with you whispering throught the phone to at least calm his racing heart.
“It’s a deal if you also record yours.” You have heard him before jokingly singing it to his members before they hang up and you can’t help but be a little bit jealous.
“Oh, do you actually mean right now? You love to put me in the spot, don’t you?” He says in surprise when you reach your phone finding the app and placing the phone in between your pillows next to his head. He’s too busy to notice that you already pressed the red button because he’s shuffling to press his hands to your sides under your sweatshirt.
“Of course I do, I won’t deny it and you lowkey love it.” You brush away the strands of hair that are sticking up and the ones that tickle you when he brushes his nose against yours before positioning your head below his craning his neck to be as close as he can to your phone.
“Close your eyes, go to sleep.” He carefully places a hand covering your eyes, giggling under his breath when he feels your eyelashes fluttering.
“Know my love is all around.” His hands travel around your waist to hold you closer to his chest, you hear his heartbeat and try to breathe profoundly to slow down yours.
“Dream in peace, when you wake.” He sneaks a hand up to pet your hair, spreading his fingers to cover the back of your head, a deep breath escapes your lips.
“You will know I'm still with you.” He notices that your breathing is evening and slowly remove one from under your clothes to stop the audio recorder without startling you as he also feels himself drift.

18 years old...
Time had flown so quickly since Nick returned home and, before I knew it, we were counting down the days until graduation. There was only a week left before we'd both be walking onstage to collect our diplomas – something we were both surprised to achieve, but nonetheless grateful.
We were laying on his roof the evening before our last week in school, staring up at the stars and chatting about anything and everything. It was one of those moments you didn't want to end because you were at peace and nothing could change that.
"Are you gonna leave if I pull out some weed?" he asked suddenly, ruining the moment.
I groaned quietly. "Nick..."
He laughed quietly, already pulling out a joint and lighting it. "It's only weed, it won't kill me."
I gave him a disapproving look. He was supposed to be clean, but he'd been using weed on and off for the past few weeks. It was better than much worse drugs out there, but it still worried me in case he got addicted again.
He breathed in before sighing with relief as he got more comfortable, moving one arm behind his head to use as a pillow.
"What do you think you're gonna do after school's finished?" I asked him once it fell quiet again.
"Dunno," he said honestly.
"Haven't you applied for any colleges?"
He snickered, as if I'd said something amusing. "Nope. Mum's been on my back about it, but I don't know if I want that right now. Why force it?"
I hummed in acknowledgement, admiring the few stars dotted in the sky. "You've been through a lot this past year. Maybe you should use this time to focus on yourself for a while."
He put his joint to his lips once more before handing it over to me. "Maybe. What about you?"
I quirked a brow, looking between me and the joint. He tried not to laugh as he waved it in the air.
"C'mon, it won't kill you," he teased.
I sighed, figuring it would be okay to let loose just this once. Accepting the joint, I took a smoke and pulled a face at the taste. I'd had weed before, but only a little, and aside from the momentary high it gave me, I wasn't a huge fan.
"I don't know either," I finally answered his question. "Not properly anyway."
He laughed as he nudged me. "Yeah you do. C'mon. Tell me."
I shrugged. "I'll be working full time at the diner, hopefully only for the year. They said they'd take me on. I'm saving to go to college."
"How wise," he joked, making me smile and roll my eyes.
I smoked some more, letting myself fall into nothing as I embraced the silence, and then Nick and I both turned to the left when we heard a noise on the roof.
"Gee, thanks for the invite." It was Alicia.
Nick groaned lightheartedly. "Go away. I'm trying to hang out with my friend and you're ruining it."
I slapped his arm playfully. "Shut up, Nick. She can join us."
"I was going to anyway," Alicia said before laying down beside me.
Nick grumbled to himself as I chuckled, then I passed her the joint. She gladly accepted, smoking it, before glancing over at me.
"So, what were you talking about?" she asked.
"What Y/N's gonna do after graduation," Nick filled her in.
She hummed, looking back to the sky. "Working, right?"
"Uh-huh," I confirmed.
"If only we could all get straight A's like you, Leashy," Nick teased.
"If you tried, you could, idiot," she retorted, making me chuckle as he scoffed.
The three of us stayed up there for a little while longer, talking nonsense, getting semi-high and preparing ourselves for the last week of school tomorrow. By the time the sky started spinning above me, I knew it was probably time to pack it in for the evening, but before I could say anything, Alicia spoke up from beside me.
"You'll still be around, right?" she asked. "Afterwards?"
It took me a few seconds longer than usual to realise she was talking about after I graduate, and I looked over at her, nodding.
"Of course," I said. "Where else would I go?"
She smiled softly, eyes dilated and half-lidded at the same time, and just like me, she was slightly out of it. It didn't help that I couldn't seem to look away from her, and I wasn't sure if the moment was abnormally long or if I was too high to make sense of it, but I couldn't stop thinking about how pretty she looked. About how much I wanted to kiss her right now. About how I was certain I'd stay by her side as long as I could because she meant so much to me, more than I'd ever let on.
When I found my thoughts drifting, I looked up at the sky again and blinked, suddenly coming out of my weed-induced daze. That was weird, thinking of Alicia like that. She was my best friend's little sister and she thought of me as family. I was being weird. Oh, God.
Massaging my head briefly, I began to sit up. This is why I wasn't a weed person, especially not whilst laying next to the girl I had major feelings for.
"You okay?" Alicia asked, and Nick nudged me with his foot, his way of checking in.
"Yeah, just tired," I half-lied, because it was kind of true. They didn't need to know the rest. "I'm gonna call it a night."
"We all should," Alicia agreed. "Early start tomorrow."
I hummed in agreement, and avoided looking at Alicia for the rest of the evening.
Tumblr media
Graduation day finally arrived, and though my mum didn't care enough to see me collect my diploma, I still had the Clarks standing in my corner, making it worthwhile.
The last thing I expected was for Madison and Alicia to throw Nick and I a joint celebratory party at their house after the ceremony. It was one of the nicest things anyone had ever done for me – the other nice things also being from them, funnily enough – and I definitely cried. Nick appreciated it too, but he was never a fan of these sorts of things. Either way, I was grateful enough for the both us.
Madison had invited some of the neighbours and Alicia had invited some of her friends to hang out with. It was a small affair, but I didn't have anyone special to me other than them anyway, so I loved it nonetheless.
It was at this party where I finally met Alicia's boyfriend, Matt. He was nice enough when she introduced him and he seemed to treat her the way she deserved. Truthfully, there wasn't a single fault. And yet, I still didn't like him. I knew why, but that didn't matter. My feelings didn't. So, I played nice and avoided them like the plague, as one does.
After conversing with everyone, I took a breather in the corner of the garden where some food was laid out. Nick found me there, revealing that he was heading off.
"So soon?" I asked with confusion "This party is mainly for you, Nick. You can't just leave."
He waved a dismissive hand. "No one will care. Besides, you'll still be here. I'm gonna go hang out with Gloria."
Gloria was his friend from rehab, and though she seemed lovely, the two of them didn't seem to bring out the best in one another. Still, it was clear she was more than a friend to him, so I couldn't comment.
"Why don't you invite her here?" I suggested, before popping some fruit in my mouth. "Everyone seems to be bringing their partners."
He chuckled, giving me a look. "Firstly, Gloria isn't my partner. Secondly, that technically leaves you out. Where's your partner, Y/N?"
"Non existent, arsehole."
"Hopefully not for long," he said between laughter, before hugging me. "See you later."
I sighed as I watched him leave. It was his day too, and if he wanted to celebrate with Gloria, who was I to stop him? My eyes drifted from his retreating figure to the other party guests mingling in the garden, and then they settled on Alicia and Matt, lingering without meaning to. She was giggling at something he said and it left a bitter taste in my mouth.
It was stupid to still like her after all this time, especially when she had a boyfriend, but I truly couldn't help it.
"How's my new graduate doing?" Madison suddenly appeared, earning my attention.
I returned her smile and straightened up. "I'm good, Madison. Thank you again for doing all this. It's wonderful."
"You gotta stop thanking me," she said with amusement, before standing beside me with her drink and looking out at everyone. I wondered what she wanted, but before I could ask, she said, "I got you a little something."
She pulled out an envelope from behind her back and held it out to me.
"Oh, Madison, you really didn't have to. This party is more than enough," I said, attempting to decline, but she shook it for emphasis.
"Stop it, Y/N, just take it."
It didn't feel right to, but it was also rude to decline her sweet gesture, so I reluctantly accepted the envelope and opened it. My jaw immediately dropped when I pulled out a cheque for five thousand dollars, addressed to me.
"It should cover most of your time at community college, right?" she asked innocently, like she didn't know.
"Madison, I..." Five thousand dollars? That was more than I'd saved in the past three years! "I could never take this. I– What the hell?"
"It's yours now," she assured me. "A gift."
I glanced at her, seeing her kindness reflected in her eyes, the same one she offered to me ever since I moved in next door. But this was too much. I couldn't accept it.
Ignoring her, I put the cheque back in the envelope and tried to give it back to her, but she refused, hiding her hands in her pockets.
"Madison–"
"No," she said sternly. "You're like a daughter to me, Y/N. I see a lot of myself in you and I care about like I do my own kids."
I pressed my lips together, unsure how to respond. She never spoke how she felt, so this was a rarity.
"Nick, he... he's lost," she continued, smiling at me dryly. "He doesn't wanna go to college apparently. I'm hoping that'll change, but..." She clicked her tongue. "Alicia is already set. It's always been smooth sailing for her. So, that only leaves you. And I know that your mum, she... well, I don't expect her to have saved for you, and I know you've been saving for yourself, but it'll take too long and I don't want you to miss out. So, I'm giving this to you and I want you to enrol now. For this year. It's not too late."
Tears were making their way to my eyes as I looked at her. "Madison."
"Please," she said gently.
Nobody had ever cared this much for me before, nobody except her. I'd always known she considered me family, but there was playing family and there was actually being family. And nobody just handed somebody five grand unless they meant it. And Madison, especially, wouldn't do something like this unless she meant it.
My mum, my dad... they never cared. Not truly. And though Nick and Alicia would both argue that their mother had no emotions, I'd always think the opposite. This woman stood before me was the most sensitive person I knew.
Unable to answer with words, I nodded slowly before pulling her in for a hug so tight that I was certain I couldn't let go. She rubbed my back comfortingly before we both pulled away and I looked down at the envelope once more.
"I'm gonna pay you back," I promised, to which she instantly shook her head.
"No way. It's not a loan, Y/N, it's a gift."
I breathed out slowly, laughing to disguise from my embarrassment at crying with happiness. She may have gifted it to me, but I knew I'd pay her back one day anyway. For everything.
"I'm so so proud of you, sweetie," she said, resting a hand on my shoulder and making me look at her again. "You're gonna do amazing things one day and I can't wait."
More tears rolled down my cheeks and I felt an overwhelming happiness flood through me. I wasn't sure what I'd done to deserve this, but I was glad for it.
Tumblr media
"Y/N, hon, can you go get Matt and Alicia? Dinner's ready," Madison called to me in the living room.
I glanced back at her from the couch. "Sure thing."
I would have much preferred not to, but I also knew I needed to get over myself about this whole Alicia thing, so I forced myself off the couch and headed upstairs to Alicia's room. Her door was almost closed, slightly ajar as per Madison's rule whenever Matt visited. I was about to enter, but I paused when I heard them talking in quiet voices.
"I just can't wait to leave already," Alicia was saying, which is what earned my attention because she sounded a little fed up. "Get as far away from them as I can."
"Not too far, I hope," Matt joked.
"Not too far, of course," Alicia agreed, before they both sighed in unison, and I cringed, knowing they'd probably just kissed.
I was going to stop lurking and just walk in, but I couldn't help but overhear as she continued. And I knew it was wrong to eavesdrop, but I had an instinct to just listen.
"I'm just tired," Alicia continued. "Looking after Nick, being mum's second priority, dealing with Travis..."
Travis was Madison's boyfriend, a recent part of the Clarks lives, and a better one, in my opinion, but of course Nick and Alicia didn't see it that way because their father's death was still fresh for them. Travis was a teacher at school, which is how Madison and him had met, so Alicia probably saw him more often than she wanted to.
"It's just easier to look after myself," Alicia finished. "I basically have been anyway."
"And what about Y/N?" Matt asked curiously.
"What about her?"
"You wanna get away from her too?"
I held my breath as I awaited her response, the second of silence killing me.
"Of course not," she said matter-of-factly, which had me relieved for a moment before she unfortunately continued, "but she won't leave here. And I can't hang around."
Definitely not expecting that, I frowned and stepped back instinctively, but I must have made a sound as Alicia called out loudly.
"Is someone there?"
Flushing with embarrassment, I cleared my throat and pushed the door open, poking my head in, but I couldn't for the life of me meet any of their eyes. "Madison said dinner's ready."
"Oh, okay," she answered awkwardly.
"Matt, you can stay too," I added uncomfortably.
"Actually, I should head back," he answered, "but thanks for the offer."
I nodded and turned to leave, heading back downstairs and forcing myself to ignore everything I'd just heard. It wasn't my business anyway, and I shouldn't have been eavesdropping. It had just taken me by surprise is all, as Alicia had never expressed thoughts of leaving as strongly as she had just then.
When the Clarks and I sat together eating dinner, I felt Alicia's eyes burning holes into the side of my head, but I refused to meet her gaze. I still felt odd and I couldn't stop thinking about her words. Were her family that bad that she wanted to leave so quickly after graduation? Was I?
After dinner, once I'd helped Madison clear the table, I was on my way to get my jacket when Alicia suddenly pulled me to the side, out of sight from everyone else as we were alone in the living room.
"You heard me talking to Matt, didn't you?" she blurted out in a hushed voice.
I blinked, looking down at her hand which was still gripping my arm. She let go once she realised, and I played dumb.
"No, I didn't."
She narrowed her eyes, studying me carefully as if debating whether to push it. Finally, she rolled her eyes and turned to leave, but I couldn't seem to just let it go.
"Are you really just going to leave?" I asked calmly. "Go as far away as you can?"
She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "You don't get it."
"Then explain," I said with confusion. "Because it sounds like you're counting down the days until you get your diploma, then you're off."
She met my eyes, giving me a look. "It's not like that. But yes, I've been applying to colleges far from here."
I frowned, a little hurt that she'd never told me any of this before and that I'd found out the way I had. "Well, at least I know you'll get in, right? You're not dumb."
Her expression softened and she tried to touch me, but I backed up. "Y/N."
"You don't know how grateful you are, do you?" I said, a little sterner than I intended, but it was the only way I knew. "Your family. They're a little dysfunctional, sure, but they care. And the way you talk about them, like they're such a burden–"
"They are!" she snapped in a low voice, surprising me. "Nick is back on drugs, and who has to be there when he's coming back down? Me! I babysit him like he's the younger brother. And mum, she's always at his beck and call, but me? She couldn't care less!"
I scrunched my eyebrows together in shock. "Alicia, that's not true–"
"It is!" she exclaimed angrily. "You wouldn't know."
Her anger was contagious and I scoffed, shaking my head. "So, what? They're all a burden because they need you? Makes me wonder what you think of me."
"That's not fair," she said in a low voice.
"Isn't it? I won't leave here. Isn't that what you said?"
She opened her mouth, eyebrows raising with disbelief. "That's because it's true! You won't! This is your chance to get out, make a life away from this one, but you stay!"
"I won't, or I can't?" I answered, glaring at her with teary eyes. "In case you've forgotten, I have fucking nobody! No money, no family, nothing! I don't even have a freakin' car! Where the hell would I go? I'm only at fucking college because your mum felt sorry for me and gave me the money! So, of course I won't just leave. I can't!"
She'd never hinted she felt this way before and it was horrifying. Had I overstayed my welcome? I was technically an adult now, but I never thought... maybe I had pushed my luck. Either way, there was a way to tell me and this wasn't it. And now I felt humiliated, burning with anger and hurt and it was so much worse because it was coming from Alicia.
"Wait...," she murmured, eyes roaming my face as her expression softened and the reality of the conversation hit her. "Just wait. Y/N, I didn't mean it like that. I shouldn't have said that."
She attempted to touch my face, but I moved away and wiped the tears from my cheeks.
"It doesn't matter," I said, tired. "Forget it. Just– forget it."
"No, just– Y/N, wait, please, I'm sorry–"
Walking past her, I grabbed my jacket and didn't bother to stay any longer or hear her out. Clearly, I wasn't wanted.
Tumblr media
The next day, I was sat on campus eating lunch after class. It was supposed to be a well-needed moment of quiet in one of my favourite places – next to a park where some ducks always came out near the water and made for a lovely sight. I wasn't able to focus in class after everything that went on last night, so I thought a lunch alone in my favourite spot would help, but it was just my luck that I couldn't even have that.
A familiar figure began to approach the picnic bench I was sat on, not even giving me chance to open my sandwich.
"Hey," Alicia said when she stopped before the bench, looking nervous.
I sighed, dropping my sandwich. "How did you find me?"
She waved her phone in the air. "Find My iPhone."
I was seriously regretted enabling that function, but we'd all agreed to do so after we couldn't find Nick that one time when he went on a night out. Now, I just wanted to be alone.
"I want to apologise and I couldn't wait any longer," she said softly.
"Forgive and forget," I said dismissively, picking up my sandwich again. "You can go now."
"No," she said stubbornly, before taking a seat opposite me. "Y/N, I'm so fucking sorry. I never meant to say what I did. I didn't mean it like that at all. You were right. I have more than most and I took advantage of it. I guess I just wanted to start fresh."
"Yeah, without everyone," I reminded her, looking between her eyes. "Without your family. Without–"
"Not without you," she stated with an apologetic look. "Never without you."
I wanted to believe her – she'd never lied to me before, but after everything she'd said... there had to be some truth to it.
"I applied for colleges here too," she shared, resting her hand on mine on the table. "I don't know where I'm going or what I'm doing, but I'm not trying to run away. You're all my family. I love you."
I swallowed hard, looking down. "Maybe I don't get it. Not fully. But I just thought–" I paused, not even sure what I was trying to say. "I don't know."
She squeezed my hand gently, earning my attention. "The best thing that could have happened to me is us taking you in as one of our own. The last thing I wanted was to make you feel any less."
I sighed, hating how much I cared about what she thought of me. About what all of the Clarks did. But they were all I had.
"I'm so sorry," she repeated. "I never meant to upset you and I've been kicking myself since I said what I did."
I nodded slightly, resting my other hand on hers in reciprocation. "It's okay. I get it. Your situation is tough and you had to grow up a lot faster because of Nick... I've tried to help ease that burden for you, but Nick can get out of control sometimes, I know."
"I appreciate it," she said, but I wasn't looking for acknowledgement, I just wanted her to be okay.
"I'm sorry, too," I told her. "The whole making your problems seem smaller thing wasn't cool."
"Thank you," she said with a nod of acceptance.
"Wherever you choose to go to college, I'll still be here for you," I promised her. "Whether it's Timbuktu or around the corner."
She cracked a small smile, bringing a light to her eyes that I'd missed. "I know."
"Ideally not Timbuktu though," I added lightheartedly. "Flights would be a little pricey."
A quiet chuckle flew from her lips as she nodded. "Noted." Her smile reminded as she met my eyes hopefully. "I have a free period. Wanna eat lunch together?"
I returned her smile. "I'd like that."
Tumblr media
19 years old...
Nick's MIA. Is he with you?
I read Madison's message with furrowed brows, both confused and worried for my best friend. It was the third time this month he'd gone rogue, worrying his whole family.
Attempting to call Madison, I cursed when she wouldn't pick up then dropped her a text to let her know he wasn't but that I'd update her if anything changed. Then, when I finally finished my morning classes, I gave Alicia a call as I waited for the bus.
"Y/N, what's up?" she answered straight away.
"Your mum just said Nick's missing again," I said, but before I could finish, Alicia was already speaking.
"He's been found," she assured me, though she sounded understandably pissed off. "They brought him into the hospital this morning. Idiot got hit by a car. No surprises what he was up to."
I chewed on my lower lip, worried. "Is he okay?"
I could imagine her eye roll as she said, "Considering he didn't get arrested, I'd say he was great." She paused, then her frustration left her tone as she said, "I've got class, Y/N. Can we talk later?"
"Of course," I said, feeling bad for her because this sort of thing had been happening a lot more than usual lately. "Sorry. See you later, Leashy."
"See you later."
Tumblr media
I wanted to check on Nick, but he was in hospital overnight and when Madison offered to let me join her, Alicia and Travis to visit him in the morning, I couldn't afford to miss class. I almost did, but Madison assured me it was okay and he'd be fine, so I promised I'd visit later that afternoon. Only, when I tried to arrange it with Madison, they revealed he'd escaped the hospital without telling anyone.
Naturally, I was worried out of my mind, but Madison and Travis promised they were searching for him, so I shouldn't worry about it. Easier said than done, of course.
That same day, after class, I tried ringing Madison to see if there were any updates about Nick's whereabouts, but there was no answer.
By the time I'd stopped by to grab some lunch and headed home, I went straight for the Clarks house to check in. I was surprised to find Madison at home.
"Y/N, you're here," Madison said when she answered the door, immediately pulling me in for a hug. "I was just about to call."
Confused, I returned the hug. "Er, yeah... I just wanted to see if there was any news with Nick."
At this, she pulled me inside the house and that's when I saw the idiot himself stood in the living room. Relieved at the sight of him, but also concerned because of some bruises covering his face, I pulled him in for a hug.
"You fucking idiot," I muttered.
He hugged me tight, about to say something, but Madison spoke up instead.
"Alicia's calling... Y/N, can you just– can you watch him for a sec?"
"Sure," I said, still confused with why she was panicked. "Everything okay?"
It wasn't hard to miss the deadly stare she shot her son, who looked like he had a million and one things to say.
"What's wrong?" I asked him when I saw his ghastly expression and inability to stand still.
He simply shook his head, saying nothing, but he looked anxious. Madison left two of us alone, heading into the kitchen.
"You can be such an idiot sometimes," I scolded him once she was gone. "Using again? Getting hit by a car? Are you insane, Nick?"
He wasn't listening to a word I was saying as he took a seat on the couch, knees bouncing up and down with impatience. I rolled my eyes, knowing how this would go since he hadn't listened to me for a long time now.
"...no, Alicia, don't touch him!" Madison was saying, on a phone call but loud enough for us to hear.
She returned not long later, looking stressed out and as anxious as Nick did. Was I missing something?
"What's up? Is everything okay?" I asked her supportively. "Is Alicia okay?"
She brushed her hair from her eyes. "She's with Matt. He's sick."
"Yeah, a load of people were off sick today in class," I realised, before shrugging. "Maybe there's a bug going around."
Madison wasn't satisfied with that answer though, as she went to grab her car keys. "I'm gonna pick her up. I don't want her getting sick, too."
"I can get her her if you want," I offered, but she shook her head and glanced at Nick, who was sweating profusely.
"No. You stay with Nick. I won't be long."
Not really getting much of a choice, I nodded and watched her leave. Nick didn't reveal much, even when Madison left, but he seemed troubled by something and no amount of coaxing from me would help. He was suffering from withdrawals, just over twenty-four hours passing since he'd taken anything, and the symptoms were making themselves known.
After what felt like forever, Madison returned with an irritated Alicia in tow. Though, as soon as she saw me with Nick, her irritation disappeared.
"He's not doing too well, Madison," I told the blonde, kneeling beside a shivering Nick.
"I'm gonna get him his prescription," Madison assured me, before looking between Alicia and I. "You girls look after him. Travis will be here soon with Liza and Chris, so keep an eye out."
Alicia and I exchanged confused looks. Why was Travis bringing his ex-wife and son back here? And what was Madison so worried about, apart from Nick?
"You're gonna make me stay here and look after this idiot when Matt needs my help?" Alicia asked her mum.
"Alicia, don't argue this," Madison said knowingly. "Stay put, okay?"
She didn't wait for a response as the door slammed behind her when she left. I sighed, using a damp cloth to cool Nick's forehead. Meanwhile, Alicia threw her backpack on the floor before looking to me.
"Can you watch him? I wanna check on Matt," she said.
"I–"
"No," Nick groaned, pushing me away as he struggled to sit up. "Mum said you have to stay."
Alicia rolled her eyes. "You've got Y/N."
"Is he okay?" I asked her, noticing her worry behind her mean girl facade.
"He's sick," she said with a frown. "Didn't show for our date in the park and that's why I went to check on him. His parents are out of town, Y/N, I can't just leave him."
The last thing I wanted to do was go against Madison's request, but I truly didn't see the harm in her checking on him.
"Okay, fine," I gave in with a nod. "Go. I'll watch Nick."
She smiled appreciatively before making her way to the door, but Nick didn't seem to like this as he forced himself to stand up.
"Alicia, no!" he shouted after her, making her roll her eyes. "You can't, Alicia, it's not safe!"
"Nick, sit down!" I shouted at him when he leaned against the couch for support. "Nick– Nick!"
I screamed his name when he fell to floor suddenly, convulsing, and Alicia was by my side in an instant, helping me help him.
Tumblr media
Alicia and I sat on the two armchairs, exhausted and nervous as we watched Nick laying on the couch, sleeping. Madison still wasn't back with his meds and, considering we'd almost watched him choke to death on his own vomit, we were pretty impatient for her return.
"You okay?" I checked in with Alicia.
Her green eyes flickered from Nick to me. "No. You?"
I sighed, shaking my head. "You thinking about Matt?"
She nodded weakly.
"I'm sure he's fine," I tried to put her at ease. "Have you tried calling him? Maybe his parents are back."
"He won't answer," she said monotonously.
I frowned, unsure what else to recommend. Thankfully, keys were rattling at the front door and in walked Madison with Nick's meds.
"I've got it," Alicia said, grabbing the bag and attempting to wake up Nick.
"Y/N, have you checked on your mum?" Madison asked randomly.
I quirked a brow. "Er, no. Am I supposed to?"
She glanced out the window uneasily. "There's a lot going on out there. Just do it, hon."
Already knowing I'd regret it, I gave my mum a ring there and then, to which she picked up after a few rings.
"Mum? It's Y/N," I said, in case she happened to be too drunk to read her caller ID. And woo-hoo, guess who was right?
"Y/N?" she asked with confusion, before exclaiming with realisation, "Y/N! What do you want?"
Unsurprised at this point, I said, "Where are you? Are you coming home?"
She laughed, though it was hard to make out because of the sound a man talking nearby, giving me the creeps. "I'll be on my way soon. Don't wait up."
I rolled my eyes. "Right. See you later."
Once I hung up, I realised Madison was still waiting to hear an update.
"She's drunk," I told her the usual. "But she's gonna be back soon."
She nodded distractedly, before saying, "When she comes home, you need to check if she's sick. And if she is, you shouldn't touch her."
"Mum," Alicia said disapprovingly, before I could even think to speak. "Not now."
I shook my head with confusion, looking back to Madison. "What?"
"This sickness, it's spreading," she said with concern. "I don't want you getting sick, too. Just promise me you'll check, okay?"
Alicia scoffed, unimpressed at her mum's ignorance.
"I promise," I told her. "Besides, she'd have to actually make it home first..."

man of the month part 10: november
Series Masterlist @mochie85's Series Masterlist See my full list of works here!
Summary: You start planning for contingencies as you realize that after today, Loki will figure out that you have feelings for him.
Pairing: Loki x Reader (almost there…)
Word Count: 5.6k
Warnings: language (sorry not sorry, Rogers); sad Scopes hours; a tiny bit of steaminess at the end
Things to be aware of: mutual pining; idiots in love
Tumblr media
"Come on, Scopes, you gotta stop being so hard on yourself," Shaun tried to console you as he helped you load the backdrops on a pipe, prepping for Strange's shoot today. "Barnes seems to be a pretty chill guy, he'll get over it in no time. Pretty sure he's not gonna have a hard time finding someone more than willing to try making him forget all about you."
"Gee thanks, Shaun," you deadpanned. "Real stroke to my ego right there hearing that I'm easily forgettable."
"I didn't say you were forgettable, Y/N. I'm saying there isn't a shortage of women willing to try --"
"Relax, Xu. I'm kidding. I know what you meant." The visible relief on his face quickly had you both chuckling and struggling to properly prop up the backdrop. "But honestly, though, you should have seen his face," you went on, a more serious tone coloring your words. "It was like I took his puppy and tossed it into traffic."
"I'm sure it can't have been that--"
"Actually, you know what, no. It's worse. It's like I gave him a puppy that he would grow to love with every fibre of his being and then one day I just upped and chose violence, taking that puppy from him, tying him to a chair and making him watch as I fed it to a meat grinder."
"Okay that's the last time we watch the SAW movies to 'unwind'," he commented, a queasy look coloring his face as he imagined the scenario you just described. "I'm almost afraid to ask but…where exactly am I in this grotesque mental image of yours?"
You gave him a wicked smirk before you answered, "In the kitchen. Cooking chili."
"You're demented."
"And you chose to be my friend, so I guess you're stuck with me." You finished putting up the final backdrop on the roll for Strange to choose from for his shoot. "So…anything I should be aware of today?" You weren't afraid of Stephen, not by a long shot. But after yesterday's session with Bucky you thought it best to at least have an idea of where the doctor stood emotionally when it came to you.
"All I know is that he likes you," he answered. "And he's holding out hope that since everyone so far walked out rejected, that hopefully it's him." Shaun looked to the door to see if anyone was nearby before saying in a more conspiratorial tone, "Little do they know you literally saved the best for last."
That was the shoot you were terribly afraid of. Tomorrow's. Loki's. At the end of Strange's shoot, he would know that it's him; he was the one you'd had feelings for. The one you were in love with.
And he would laugh in your face. Or perhaps he would be less cruel about it and just reiterate how tits deep in the friendzone you were, and that there was no way you would ever get out of it.
The look on Shaun's face morphed into one of concern. "Scopes?" You didn't reply. "Y/N?" Still nothing. "Tweety…"
"Huh?"
"I lost you for a second there. Where'd you go?"
"He's gonna know today," you answered him, your tone sullen and despondent. "Strange is gonna come out of his shoot, say it's not him, and everyone will know who it is. He's gonna know today and I'll never be able to look him in the eye again." Tears began to prick at the backs of your eyes as you could feel your heart splintering. "Maybe we should get someone on standby. In case he doesn't show tomorrow. Ghosts me completely."
"Tweety I really don't think--"
"Hey Babes. Hey Shaun. You two wanna go get brunch before Stephen's shoot?" You looked over at the door to find Wanda and Vision, along with Natasha, standing right outside your studio and looking up at you and Shaun tiptoeing on tall ladders with barely any support if one of you were to topple over where you stood.
"Hey Babes. Sure just let us get down from here and we'll join you." You looked over at the synthezoid standing by Wanda. "You joining us, Vishawn?"
"Tweety why would you use that, you know--"
"I know, Wan, I know. I've probably been hanging out too much with Sam. That reminds me, Vishaw--I mean, Vision…" you corrected yourself as Wanda playfully glared at you. "If ever we'd be in need of a substitute, you'd be available, yeah?"
"That would be correct, Agent Y/L/N," he answered you. "Although I do not believe that you would be in need of one--"
"I know, I'm just making sure I have my contingencies in place, you know?" you tried to explain as you took a step down from the ladder, causing it to wobble from its instability. "Could one of you hold this stable? And maybe someone else do the same for Shaun?"
"No need, little Tweety bird," the martial artist said casually as he practically flew off his ladder, landing safely on the ground.
"Show off," you grumbled, scrunching your nose and sticking your tongue out in his direction, earning you an amused look and a similar expression back. You took another step down carefully, the ladder nearly tipping over completely to the side had it not been for you putting all your body weight toward the opposite direction, stabilizing it once more. But only barely.
"Oh my fuck. Y/N!" you heard a new voice from by the door before you felt a fabric wrap around you as you were safely lifted upward and away from the ladder, and then placing you safely on the ground. You looked at Strange's cape wrapped around your shoulders, the lapels smoothing your flyaway hairs and then proceeding to fluff it out as the sorcerer approached you. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah yeah, I'm--I'm fine, Stephen. Thanks." You found yourself quickly returning the fond smile that he gave you, keeping yourself planted firmly on the ground as his cape seemed to push you toward its master. "You're here early."
"Just wanted to stop by and ask what time you wanted me." You raised an eyebrow at his wording, your friends leaning back with playful smirks on their faces as they eyed him. The former neurosurgeon suddenly stammered, "I-I mean, fuck. I mean what time you wanted me to come over. For the shoot."
"Relax, Strange," you chuckled at his suddenly nervous demeanor. "I know what you meant I'm just fucking with you." A grin broke through on his face as he visibly relaxed. "That's better…We were actually on our way out to brunch so…probably later at around 2pm sound good?"
"Sounds good. But nobody talk about food around me. You're about to feast on plates of bacon and french toast, while I'm here eating like a damn rabbit trying to make sure my abs don't get camera shy."
His words had brought a genuine smile to your face, something you hadn't been able to do for the last few days, and had you feeling a bit more like yourself. The you before this entire project even began and Stark decided to spill your secret that was bound to get out by the end of the day.
Goddamn Stark, I should've kept the code that had FRIDAY calling you Daddy for this.
"Just stay away from the carbs," you offered. "At least until the shoot's over and then you can gorge on all the bread and pasta you want, I promise." You turned toward your friends, who were now looking at you with an almost teasing expression. "Let's go?"
Tumblr media
Hearing your name exclaimed in such a panicked manner had Loki sprinting from his seat at the kitchen island toward the door to your studio. Whatever got the former Midgardian healer to seem so worried about you was most definitely his concern as well. You may have been acting peculiar since yesterday which he couldn't quite rationalize for the life of him, but that did not take away from the fact that he still loved you and your safety would always be his priority.
When he got to the door of your studio, however, you were already safely on the ground, Strange's cape wrapped around your shoulders with the lapels primping at your hair, the rest of it making a visible effort to nudge you toward the sorcerer.
Perhaps his brother had been right after all. It was truly down to Strange and himself, considering that Barnes had walked out the night before unsuccessful in his attempt to woo you. And from the way you'd acted around him yesterday, the god was convinced that the super soldier was secretly a strong contender.
But it seemed that he'd found out before his appointment with you even came that he was ultimately to lose in this endeavor. It was the former healer. Strange.
And his dreaded suspicions were all but confirmed when he saw you speaking with the other man, your whole demeanor so glaringly comfortable compared to how you behaved when you were around the god. And your smile. The one he hadn't seen since this project even began. The one he thought you only had reserved for those closest to you.
You'd given that smile to Strange.
Perhaps the game was already over. A winner had already been determined before he even had his chance to test the waters with you. Of course it wouldn't be him. It was foolish of him to think that someone as good as you would ever harbor emotions for him that ran as deep as his for you.
That was a fantasy he simply was not deserving of.
All he could do was at least bask in the brief moment where he could see that smile of yours again. Even if it was given to someone else. He watched, frozen in his stupor, as you walked out of your studio still adorning the sentient cape, that wondrous moment where you illuminated his world with your radiant grin shattered as the expression on your face faded into one of hesitation as your eyes met his.
And in that moment he could swear his heart had fractured, too.
"Oh uh…hi, Loki," you stammered, your gaze fidgeting as if you'd become incapable of maintaining eye contact.
"Good morning, Y/N." He wanted to stab himself at how formal the atmosphere felt around you two ever since Banner's shoot. Things had felt so strained ever since that day, and what made it exponentially worse was that he couldn't pinpoint a reason why. All he knew was that yesterday morning when he saw you, before you disappeared into Barnes's chambers for the soldier's session with you, he had compelling reason to believe that you'd been crying.
Was it over your studio being ruined? Most probably not. He knew that you were not the time that would become so overcome with emotion over that. It was an inconvenience, absolutely. But it wasn't worth sobbing so hard that your eyes were rimmed with red.
Besides, the studio was all but finished now. It would be ready for you once more before Strange even appeared for his session after lunch.
"Are you alright?" The confusion on your face prompted him to say more. "I heard Strange call for you in a panic--"
"Oh that," you cut him off, your tone deceptively nonchalant. "Nearly fell off the ladder. No biggie. Levy kept me safe." You motioned toward the cape as you said the last part, the lapels now set on your cheeks and shaking your head. "Oh you don't like that name?" More vigorous shaking. "You'll get used to it." One of the lapels lightly tapped you on the cheek.
"Hey how come you're nicer to her than you are to me?" The ends of the cape made a motion as if shrugging at the sorcerer before resting at your sides once more.
"Strange, isn't there a command or something to get this to return to you? I don't know it just…feels weird. Like I'm wearing something I shouldn't be." He snapped his fingers and the garment twisted off your shoulders and went flying back to its master, sending your body twisting in the same direction from the momentum.
Loki made the split second decision to intercept you from that path, stepping forward and placing his hands on your shoulders. You looked up at him with those big doe eyes that it took all his strength to not throw caution into the wind, frame your face with his hands and press his lips to yours. Even if he wouldn't be the one to ultimately win your heart, he wanted you to know that you held his. There was never a competition. There never would be.
"Thanks, Mischief," you mumbled, awkwardly ducking and shuffling out of his hold. He resisted the urge that arose in him to reach for you again. You turned and reached your hand out towards Romanoff and walked toward the elevator, leaving him standing with the sorcerer.
"So it looks like it's down to the two of us," Strange commented, holding out a hand as a show of sportsmanship. "May the best man win?"
Loki merely scoffed as he turned and walked back toward his chambers. "I am no mere man."
Tumblr media
You returned to the Tower in better spirits than when you left. That last interaction with Loki was so excessively awkward that it really threw you off kilter. It almost felt as if he already knew that it was him and he was doing everything in his power to retain what semblance of a friendship you had.
Would you even want to remain friends with him when he finally knew and he chose to say and do nothing and instead just put in an effort to ensure you both at least remained friends? No. Probably not.
With your studio good as new after Tony made sure to have everything repaired and replaced, you had all your resources available to you again. A far cry from yesterday at your shoot with Bucky where the entire thing took place in the bathroom in his apartment, which probably contributed further to the emotional train wreck of a session all that turned out to be.
Straining to clear your thoughts, you took a good look around the studio, assessing each set carefully to see which would fit Vision best. Might as well ready the contingency because you were almost completely sure that tomorrow your heart would break waiting in here for absolutely nothing and no one to show up for the December shoot.
You knew that he had a more human-presenting form, something he learned from early on in his relationship with Wanda so that she would not be subject to the condescending looks of those who passed her on the streets when they walked together hand in hand. More likely than not, he'd be using that, and he gave off more 'distinguished professor' vibes with that version of him, so you mulled over the study, trying to see what would work for him and what could be taken out now.
You'd been so focused on your current train of thought that you barely registered the sound of your door opening, the sound of footsteps and fabric whoosh-ing being what caught your attention.
"Scopes," Stephen greeted in a playful tone. "How was your brunch?"
His question once again had you smiling at how laid back the atmosphere was around him. "It was good, Strange. Thanks." You pointed toward the bare set with only a background and he snapped his fingers at his cape, making the garment stay put as he took his place on the set, sitting down on the chair you'd placed there this morning, legs stretched out as he manspread and leaned his torso slightly toward one side. Relieved at how quickly he'd taken to getting comfortable with a pose, you clicked away at your camera from a few angles, hoping one of them would be good.
"Hey, have you never been curious why there's half a vintage car in here?" he asked pointing at the display piece a few meters away from the bedroom set.
"Honestly? I chalked it off to Tony being Tony. Remember the man had a phase of when he believed something was ridiculous yet 'unique' he'd immediately go 'I need it. Buy it.' That's probably one of those pieces."
"And you never thought of using it?" You shrugged your answer; none of the previous sessions ever even considered branching out, and it wasn't your place to tell them which sets they would be posing in. After all, the entire point of the shoots were whatever they were comfortable with.
You did, however, use the car in your pre-calendar 'test shoots' with Wanda and Nat. And the resulting shots made you desperately wish that at least one of the twelve men would want to at least have a few shots done there.
"If I wanted to use it, what would we need?" You took a few covert shots at Strange as he talked, hoping that the casual demeanor he had would translate in the photos because it captured the sorcerer's effortless charm quite well.
"I'd have to either bring the blinds down so that the sun wouldn't be glaring into the lens and ruining the shot to Kingdom Come, or bring the half-car over here. You got any magic spells that could swing that?"
"I might have something better." He stood up and walked out of the studio, calling for someone to come over and help the two of you with something. A few moments later,  you heard the unmistakable heavy strides of Thor fast approaching.
"Lady Y/N! Master Strange! How can I be of assistance?"
You pointed toward the half of the '67 Chevy Impala. "Could you bring that over to this side of the studio? We wanna use it for his shoot."
The blond god walked over to the piece. "Certainly. Though I do have to ask…While I am always happy to help you, my si--my friend," he stammered. He seemed to have caught himself before he said another word, but he hadn't said more than the beginning of a syllable, so you couldn't for the life of you figure out what the real word would have been. "Why didn't you call for my brother instead?"
You bit your tongue at the realization that  Thor knew about your feelings for Loki. Memories of the June photoshoot haunted your mind now, of how you flat out admitted that you liked his brother. Too much, you even said. And for some reason he believed that those feelings were requited. Precious dummy.
"I erm…Strange was the one who called. Not me," you evaded his question. In truth had you been the one to step out, you'd have made the same call. "I-I didn't even know he was outside."
The god of thunder lifted the half of car seemingly without much effort and began to bring it toward the front of the studio, taking slow, careful steps as he struggled to see where he was going. "He is always outside, Lady Y/N. Those who do not know better may even take to believing that he'd begun to live on that portion of the couch. Stark even made a comment about how the cushions may already have a permanent impression of his buttocks…?"
You chortled at the mental image, making a note to check the couch for such a mark. Out of pure curiosity, of course.
He put down the fragment of the vintage car down near the set that you were just using with a goofy triumphant smile on his face. "Will you be needing my assistance elsewhere, my friend?" You shook your head at him. "Then I suppose I will take my leave. Lady Y/N. Master Strange."
"Thanks, Thunder." You waved at him as he walked out of the studio. You turned back towards Strange, who'd taken the initiative to place the chair he was previously occupying down in front of the opening of the half-car. "Alright, Doctor." You motioned toward the backseat. "Take a seat. Let's try to get this done as soon as possible so you can go eat. Y'know. Do it for the pizza."
"Hah. Right," he chuckled, unbuttoning the first button on his shirt and pulling on one side before taking a seat in the back half of the Impala. You clicked away on your camera as he adjusted his seating, having a feeling that his official shot would be one of the more casual, candid shots rather than the ones he posed for. "Would you like to join me, Y/N?"
You put your camera down, your smile faltering as you saw him intently looking at you, waiting for your answer. "O-Oh. I uhh…"
The smile on his face lost its brilliance, fading into one more consistent with someone trying to handle disappointment without making it too obvious. "So it's Laufeyson?"
You figured there was no point hiding it anymore. He was the only one left. You nodded your answer. "I'm sorry, Stephen." His eyebrows furrowed together in visible disappointment, looking away from you. You couldn't fathom for the life of you why you took a shot of him looking like that, but you did. "And I know it's stupid. He hates everyone, he hates his brother, so spare me the speech. I'm a stupid little mortal. Alert the press."
"I wasn't going to say that, Scopes." He stood up, his tone sounding more like that of a consoling friend as you walked over to your computer to plug in the memory card from the camera. "I was just going to say that if ever you two got together we'd have two world record breaking relationships in the team."
"Oh yeah? How so?" Your tone dripped with sarcasm as you entertained his ridiculous hypothetical of you and Loki becoming an item.
"Well we already have Rhodes and Danvers with the universe's longest distance relationship." His quip had you chuckling despite the impending heart-shattering conclusion to this project fast approaching. You could feel it more and more now that the moment he'd walk out and inform everyone that it wasn't him came closer and closer. "And then if you and Laufeyson became a thing? We'd have the universe's largest age gap relationship."
You nearly spat out your water. "Strange--!"
"I mean I don't think anyone can top a thousand and three hundred years, give or take, so I think it's safe to say that that record would be yours. You even beat out Thor and Foster." His comments had you full on cracking up now, for some reason becoming much funnier once he brought up Thor and his currently long distance relationship with his own girlfriend.
"Ohh god…" you groaned. "You think Jane would kill me if I told her when she gets back that I saw her boyfriend naked?"
"Are you kidding?" he shot back at you. "This is Thor we're talking about. Jane probably already knew about the calendar the second Stark announced it. And she probably already knows that you saw everything that her boyfriend had to offer. He tells her everything. L'amour and all that."
When the pictures finished importing into your computer, you pulled all his shots up on the screen. "Pick your poison, Doc."
"I see what you're doing, you know," he teased. "Trying to avoid the conversation about Mr Golden Horns. What is it?" He laid a hand on your shoulder, urging you to look at him. "Oh. You still think it's one sided, don't you?"
"Come on, Strange, I know it is. Just pick your shot. Please."
He pointed at the last shot you took. "I like the melancholia."
"Plus your fans are gonna be screamin' and creamin' from the little bit of exposed chest they get from this."
"That's just--Ugh, gross, Scopes. How'd you get so crass?"
"Hung around too much with Sam. And then started hanging around with Shaun to add some flavor." He gave you a fond smile before redoing the undone button on his shirt and straightening it out before proceeding to begin to walk away. "Hey, Strange?"
"Yeah, Y/N?"
"Is there any chance you could…postpone telling them? Just until tomorrow?"
A sad smile graced his features as he shook his head. "You know I can't. They'll figure it out anyways if I walk out of here anything less than ecstatic."
Tears began to prick at the back of your head once again as the inevitability sank in. This was it. Loki would know in a matter of minutes. "Gotcha. It's all good. Thanks, Strange."
"If he doesn't want you back, it's his loss," he uttered, his tone once again consoling. "You're an incredible woman. It's…the whole reason I said yes to Stark's ridiculous project. I wanted to try and see if maybe you got to know me a bit better…"
"That's…that was really sweet of you, Stephen." You grimaced as the look in his eyes became somber. "Fuck, it never feels good turning someone down. I'm really sorry," you sighed as he gave you a clearly forced smile. His attempt at trying to make it easier for you, which just made you feel even worse. "I suppose tomorrow I get to know how you all felt. Taste of my own medicine and all that."
"He's an idiot if he rejects you, Y/N. Remember that." You answered him with a forced smile of your own. "And if ever he really does prove that he's the biggest idiot on the team, if you ever need a shoulder to cry on…" He clicked his tongue and gave you a playful wink as he raised his shoulder. "I'm available."
His antics somehow found a way to elicit a giggle from you. "Thanks, Strange. You know, Stark did say that he was so sure of this turning out well for me that if he was wrong, I had full permission to beat his ass in one of his Iron Man suits, so at least I have that to look forward to."
"Atta girl. Do you want me to go tell Horns that his appointment's tomorrow or do you wanna do it?"
You groaned at even the thought of having to face Loki after this shoot. "Might as well, right? I'll do it. You go on ahead, Strange. I'm sorry you have to be the sorry fucker to seal my fate."
"I'm sorry, too."
And with those words, he walked out of the studio. Leaving you alone with your computer and your fears of rejection intensifying by the second.
Tumblr media
There was truly no viable reason why Loki chose to still stay at his usual seat waiting for Strange's appointment with you to conclude. He already knew the answer to all this. Strange would emerge victorious and he would have to face you tomorrow without you even realizing that his heart had shattered the night before.
Should he even bother with telling you of his affections? He did not wish to put you in an uncomfortable spot especially since you were already adjusting to your new reality where you were starting a new relationship with the sorcerer.
Strange finally emerged from your studio, the smile on his face inconsistent with that of someone who'd just won your heart, but it unnerved the god nonetheless.
"So it's you," he huffed. "I suppose congratulations are in order." He stood and held out his hand. "I suggest you hurry before I change my mind and break your jaw with it instead."
"Oh fuck me," he grumbled, breaking into chuckles that sounded a mix of strained, relieved, and disappointed all at once. "You're in love with her. Oh this is rich. This is some Hallmark, Lifetime level shit."
"Strange, what--"
"It's not me, Frosty." His heart pounded in his chest at the words.
He couldn't find it in himself to utter the words. To even think it possible that the answer was… "It's me?"
Strange took his hand and gave it a single shake. "Congratulations. Try not to rub it in all our faces tomorrow. Who am I kidding? You'll probably walk out of here carrying her bridal style."
The sorcerer walked away f rom him and further into the tower right as the door to your studio opened again and you poked your head out of the doorway, the hesitation in your eyes returning as your gaze met his.
Oh, my darling Y/N. Was that the reason behind your discomfort all this time? You thought your feelings unreturned?
"Uhh, h-hey, Mischief. You good for doing the shoot tomorrow?"
It took all his strength not to walk over and just make you completely his right this moment, offering only a smile your way instead. "Yes, darling. I'll see you tomorrow."
You ducked back in to your studio with a quiet "Okay", leaving him slumped back in his seat, thinking about how he could steer his appointment with you tomorrow. The things he could do in order for things to lead to him finally getting to tell you the words.
"I love you, Y/N," he whispered into the empty waiting area.
As the hours passed and you still hadn't reemerged from your studio, Loki concluded that you'd probably fallen asleep in there once more, surrounded by your work. But instead of walking over and pressing his hand to the door, silently bidding you goodnight, he made the decision to walk in there instead and check in on you.
He found you laying on the floor, pages of the calendar strewn out around you in varying sizes, your tablet near your right arm. Your chest rose and fall in perfectly even intervals, telling him that you'd fallen fast asleep, but the furrow in your brows told him that you were at some level of discomfort.
"Oh my darling mortal," he whispered, picking you up and into his arms, causing you to stir as your arm instinctively hooked itself over his shoulder.
"Who--"
"It's only me, Y/N. I'm bringing you to bed." Your tiny giggle at his words nearly had his resolve crumbling. "To sleep, my love." He bit his tongue at his own words, thanking the Norns that you were too deep in the hold of your slumber to remember much of this encounter.
You grumbled against him, burrowing your face into the crook of his neck as he walked up the steps leading to your chambers. Loki couldn't help but smile as he caught the words "no fun" in the midst of your incoherent protests. Once he made it into your bedroom and laid you on your bed, you became a touch more restless in your sleep.
"What is it, darling?" His voice became clipped, more strained, as you squirmed and whimpered in reaction to him tucking your blanket under you. "Truly testing my resolve, aren't you, little mortal?" You mumbled more incoherent words, making him sigh in temporary defeat. He would talk to you tomorrow. "Sleep well, my love." He pressed a brief kiss to the top of your head before he turned and made his way out of your chambers.
"Mmph…love," you sighed as you began to wriggle out of the hold of your blanket. "I wish Loki loved me back."
He crossed the distance to you once more, leaning down and placing his lips barely an inch away from your ear. "I do, my darling Y/N. I do." Your breathing began to grow heavy as he whispered the words into your ear. "My darling girl, tomorrow I will make you mine. You will know without a shadow of a doubt that you have my heart. That you have consumed my every thought, waking and dreaming."
You began to stir some more, starting to turn your face towards his, causing him to splay his fingers lightly along your jaw, keeping you in place. Your chest heaved, little whimpers escaping your lips.
"Tomorrow, my love." He touched his forehead to your temple. "Words will never be enough to adequately tell you of how I love you, so I will prove to you my affections. Show  you how you possess my heart, my devotion, my pleasure. There will not be an inch of your precious form that will go untouched, unloved. By tomorrow's end you will share my bed, lay in my arms, and I will never let you go." He pressed a kiss to the skin below your ear, eliciting a moan that had him quickly hardening in his trousers.
"Vixen," he grumbled against your skin, pressing another kiss to the same spot. "Rest tonight, darling. You'll need your strength." You whimpered once more, the heavy implications of his words seeming to have reached you even in your current state. He moved to hover his lips over the base of your throat. "Just one more. To tide me over until I have you tomorrow. Until you're mine. Forever."
He pressed a kiss to your skin, both hearing and feeling the delicious moan you let out. Gods, that alone took a Herculean effort for him to pull his lips away from you, to wait until the next day for him to conduct a proper seduction. One that neither of you would forget. When he had pulled away — albeit reluctantly — and once again was at the door leading out of your bedroom, he turned toward you one final time. "Sweet dreams, my love. Until tomorrow."

Gifs aren’t mine! Credit to those who made them!
Pairing: Doc & Lightning (NOT A SHIP!)
Summary: After Lightning McQueen wins his first Piston Cup, he gets invited to an end-of-the-season party. Unfortunately for Lightning, everyone is a bit too loud for him to handle.
Word Count: 3,834
A/N: Thought I try uploading a fan fic here! I finished this yesterday and posted it in ao3 but posting here might be fun, who knows 🤷‍♀️ Also this kind of sensory overload has happend to me before in class once. I just Hope this isn’t too ooc for Lightning, I just really like ADHD Lightning. Also I had no idea how to end this too so I hope the ending is fine.
Warnings: Sensory Overload, Drinking, Emetophobia (throwing up)
↯☆~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~☆↯
McQueen was being bombarded by lights, cameras, and people.
He had been doing great at races after the tiebreaker in California.
In fact, he just won a Piston Cup.
He was holding it in his arms as he answered the people’s questions. People were asking him things left and right. After a while though, he started to drown them out a bit. Really he just wanted to go home.
Home. Funny isn’t it?
He was put into Radiators Springs against his will and now he’s calling it home? It’s funny to him. He gave a small wave to Doc as he walked towards the press. When it came to finals like this, everybody in town came to watch him, and it made him smile.
“Alright, Alright settle down everyone. I’m sure he’ll have plenty of time to answer your questions in the upcoming interviews.” Doc said, pushing through the crowd to Lighting. Lightning smiled at him, and wrapped his arm around his, as they went to walk away. Lightning was grateful because the people were starting to get too loud and annoying.
He wanted to tell everyone to shut up for just a few seconds, but he couldn’t. He didn’t know when he’d get that silence but hopefully, it was soon. Usually, he doesn’t mind the noise and people. In fact, he lives for it. But sometimes it’s just too much.
Some of the people started to follow them, but Lightning shooed them away. Once it was just Doc and him, he let go of his arm.
“Thanks.” He said.
“No problem.”
Lightning looked over at his friends and ran into Sally’s arms.
“Lightning you did amazing!” She exclaimed, kissing him on the cheek. He let out a small giggle and said,
“Thanks! Look at it!” He jumped out of her arms to hold up the trophy.
“Wow, it’s bigger than I thought.” She said, looking at it.
Lightning did a little jump and then showed the rest of his friends.
“Well gosh darn Lightning! You actually did it this time!” Mater yelled, holding up his hand. Lightning smacked it and let out a small laugh.
“Yeah, no need to push cars to the finish line this time, so I got the win pretty easy.” He says smirking. Mater laughs and pats Lightning’s shoulder. “We’re gonna have a big celebration when you get back!” Mater shakes McQueen a bit, to show his excitement.
“Yeah, baby!” Lightning yells. Mater runs off for a second and Doc walks over to Lightning.
“I’m proud of you kid. Honestly. You did good.” He ruffles Lighting’s hair with a chuckle.
“Thanks.” Lightning says.
Sally walks over.
“We gotta go now Lightning. See you tomorrow.” She kisses his lips and fixes his hair a bit.
“Love you.” He says.
“Love you too.” She says. “See ya Doc.” She says waving.
His friends start to leave and it’s just him and Doc. He looks up at him for a moment, wondering what to do next. He heard people start to walk up to him. He rolled his eyes and let out a small groan before turning around and smiling.
“Lightning! Lightning McQueen! McQueen! McQueen!” People started yelling from all angles.
“What’s up?!”
“Do the thing!” Someone shouted.
“You mean this?” He swung his head around at the perfect angels so that his earrings flashed and shined. Doc stood behind him with his arms crossed.
“Hudson! Hudson Hornet!” Some people shouted and tried to get his attention. And soon everyone was talking, and it was hard for Lighting to hear what people were saying let alone process it.
“What?” Was being said a lot. His hands clenched and released his pants. He played with them as he was bombarded with questions. It was starting to annoy him. The fact that he couldn’t hear anyone clearly.
“How do you feel after winning your first Piston Cup?!” Someone asked.
“How do I feel? I feel amazing! I’m so grateful that I won this!” He yelled over everyone, bouncing on his tippy toes. Suddenly he was being dragged away by Doc, but the people still followed him.
“Uh, more details tomorrow.” He nodded while smiling.
“Where are you heading now?” Another person asks.
“To a hotel!” “He was pushed in front of the door of the car. He opened it and got in. And immediately rolled down the window.
“I’ll see you all tomorrow to answer more questions. Kachow!” He flashed his earring and gave the crowd finger guns.
“Hey, kid!” Mack yelled, running over to the door. Lightning turned his attention towards him.
“What’s up?”
“Some of the other racers are throwing this end-of-the-season party or something. They used to do it all the time I guess. Anyways, they were wondering if you’re going.” Mack asked, leaning on the door.
“What tonight?”
“Yeah. It’s starting pretty soon. It’s just gonna be the racers and some of the pit crews.”
“Uhm..” Lightning bounced his leg up and down as he thought about it. On one hand, he wanted to just go to sleep. But on the other hand, He did just win his first Piston Cup. What’s an end-of-the-season party without the Piston Cup winner?
“Tell them I’m going.” He says smiling.
“Nice. Okay, see you later kid!” Mack yells, walking away and waving. Lighting waves to everybody while he rolls up the window. Once he can’t hear anybody he sighs. He looks over at Doc.
Lightning couldn’t describe Doc’s face in one word. Or emotion.
He looked concerned, but also disappointed in his answer.
“What?” Lightning asked.
“You sure you wanna go to this party, kid? You looked a bit exhausted out there.”
“Yeah! Yeah, I’ll be fine. I wanna go.”
“Okay then. Do you know where it is?”
“Uhhh no.” He pulls out his phone and texts Mack.
“It’s at some bar they rented out. Here.” Lightning showed Doc and he nodded. Lightning put his phone away and slouched a bit.
Music played softly in the background. Lightning kinda wanted to turn it off, but he decided not to. It would make him look weird and only worry Doc more. He closed his eyes and let out a sigh.
“You okay, Lightning?” Doc asked. Lightning snapped his eyes open.
“I’m fine.” He said sternly. And by that Doc knew he shouldn’t talk anymore. Lightning closed his eyes again. The more the music played, the more he didn’t really care. He drowned it out pretty easily. He almost fell asleep when he heard Doc say,
“We’re here.”
Lightning opened his eyes and sat up. The neon light of the sign glowed brightly. Lightning stepped out of the car.
“Listen, kid, I know they got drinks in there and everything, but don’t get too wasted alright?”
“Okay old man, whatever you say.” He says with a smirk. Doc chuckles and shakes his head as they walk up to the doors. Right before Lighting goes to open it, Doc stops him and puts his hand on his shoulder.
“You’re 21 right?” Lightning rolls his eyes and laughs a bit.
“Yes. Yes, I am.”
“You got your ID?” Lightning pulls it out of his pocket and shows it to him.
“Alright, just making sure.” Lighting opens the door and everyone goes quiet for a moment when they see who walked in.
Then everyone starts cheering and clapping and Lightning knew he was gonna regret this. But despite that, he shouts.
He watches Doc walk away somewhere else before going up to everybody else. He gives them high fives while making his way to the bar. He jumps on a stool.
“Beer please.” He says sliding his ID on the table with a smirk. The bartender nods and turns away to get one.
A racer walks over to him.
“So, Piston Cup winner eh? Kinda nice to see someone other than The King win one.”
“Oh yeah? That’s nice.” Lightning says, not really knowing how to respond.
“You’re still quite the rookie aren’t you?”
“Well technically, not anymore. But the stripes only came off my car like last season. So yeah, I guess you could say so.” He says, grabbing the beer that was just handed to him and taking a sip.
“Yeah, I guess so. You’re pretty good for how young you are.”
“Thanks.”
“Okay shut up, it's my turn to talk to the legend, Lightning McQueen!” Another racer says to the other one. He rolls his eyes.
“Alright, whatever.” He gets a drink, and Lightning turns his attention to the racer who just appeared.
“So, how cool is it having the Fabulous Hudson Hornet as your crew chief?” He asks him.
“How is it? It’s pretty great. He’s pretty funny, but he knows how to get me in the game y'know. He really helps me.” Lightning says, taking a last chug of his first drink and patting the table.
“Hey, another one please.”
“So no more flying solo huh?” The racer asks with a laugh. Lightning laughs along and shakes his head.
“Yeah, no. I found a good team.” He says, looking at Doc and waving rapidly. Doc looks over and gives him a small slow wave.
“Whoa buddy, you finished that first drink quickly.” The first racer says.
“Hm? Oh yeah.” He says, chuckling a bit. He continues sipping out of the cup with his straw. The racers went off to talk to other people. Lightning brings his fists up to his face and slightly covers his ears. It’s pretty loud in here. He bounces his leg up and down on the stool chair as he finishes his second cup.
“Another one please.” He says. He knows he shouldn’t drink too much, but it’s really good.
Doc looks over at him and sees him drinking his third cup. Hands over his ears and a bouncing leg. This kid really can’t stop moving, can he?
Doc shakes his head and takes a sip of his wine.
“I swear this kid is driving me nuts. He never stops moving. I’m surprised he can fall asleep at night.” He says to the other crew chiefs, which results in a group of laughter.
Other racers start coming up to Lightning and talking to him. The more people talk to him, the more the little guy in his head runs around telling him to leave. Where it’s quiet. But he ignores it and just keeps talking and ordering more drinks. He laughs along with the people who tell him funny things and has great conversations with them. Except he’s getting drunk. And the more he gets drunk, the more careless and reckless he gets. He starts tuning out people and then yelling random things when he tunes back in. No matter how much he tunes out the people taking, he can always hear the buzz and mumbling of everybody.
He remembered someone was talking to him and turned his head towards him. He felt dizzy doing that. He rubbed the bridge of his nose a few times.
“You good?”
“Y-yeah.” He responds, nodding.
“Another one.” He says, hand reaching out.
“This is like your 9th one.” The bartender says.
“I don’t care.”
“Anyways, I heard…” Lightning tuned him out as he stared at the table. His head was pounding. He felt sweaty and his eyes keep unfocusing. He saw as the next cup of beer was placed in front of him. He moves his mouth over to the straw to drink it before his hand slipped off his cheek and he almost bashed his head into the cup. He sits up and his stomach churns. He feels a weird warm feeling creep up his throat and immediately stands up.
“Sorry. Where's the bathroom?” He asked, stumbling to catch his footing. The bartender pointed to the back, and Lightning nodded. He rushed over to the bathroom, hitting tables the entire way there. Doc watched as Lighting stumbled towards the bathrooms.
“I’ll be right back.” He says, standing up and walking over to the bathroom. He opened the door slowly and heard soft sobs, and some coughing.
“Lightning?”
“Doc?”
“Yea it's me, kid. Are you okay?”
“I drank too much.” Then he threw up again. Doc walked to the stall where Lightning was and sat down next to him.
Lightning's face was a mess, he had tears running down his face, and there was drool on his chin. Doc sighed and rubbed his back.
“I told you not to drink too much.” He says.
“I know.” Lightning let out a sob.
“Are you done throwing up?”
“I think so.” Doc grabs Lightning some toilet paper and throws it at him.
“Here. Clean your face.” Lightning grabs the toilet paper and wipes his mouth and face. He throws the toilet paper in the toilet and flushes it. Lightning stares at the toilet as it flushes.
“I never liked throwing up.” He says.
“Come here.” Lightning turns towards Doc and hugs him.
“That’s what you get for drinking so much.”
“Oh shut up.” Lightning says with a chuckle. He buried his face into Doc’s chest, and Doc rubs his back.
“Why’d you drink so much? Just reckless teen behavior or for a reason?”
“I’m not a teen.”
“You know what I mean.” Lightning goes silent for a moment. Doc wondered if he was gonna answer him or not. He opened his mouth to ask again but Lightning said,
“It was too loud.”
“I thought so. Why’d you come?”
“Because I won.”
“Let me tell you, son, with the number of races I won, I rarely went to parties let alone get super drunk.”
“Wow, you were even boring at my age.” Lightning laughs, and Doc shakes his head.
“So, you gonna explain the whole, too loud thing?” Doc asked. Lightning sighed and said,
“That’s the thing. I don’t really know how to explain it. Like- everybody is talking y’know. And everyone has the moment when things are too loud, but this is where it’s different. For other people, when it’s too loud, it gives them a headache or hurts their ears. For me, it drives me crazy. It echoes in my brain, and it overwhelms me. And then I just want everybody to be quiet so I can have, I don’t know, a moment of peace or something.” He takes a deep breath.
Doc nods.
“I see. What that is kiddo, is a sensory overload.”
“And how do you know that?”
“Red told me before.”
“How? He can’t talk.” Lightning asks, sitting up.
“Sign language kid.” Doc waves his hands around and wiggles his fingers.
“Oh.” He says, tapping his leg with his fingers.
“Why don’t we leave? We can go to the hotel where it’s nice and quiet, and you can relax and stuff alright?” Lightning nods, and hides his face, embarrassed. Why? He really doesn’t know.
“You’re- You’re not gonna tell them the true reason, are you?”
“No, I don’t have to.”
“Okay.” Lightning nods, and grabs Doc’s hand to stand up.
“Can you walk straight?” Lightning wobbles on his feet before walking to Doc, zig-zagging and tripling on the way there.
“Yeah no.” He grabs Lightning’s arm and drags him out of the bathroom. Lightning winced once they left the room. He leaned his head against Doc’s arm.
“We gotta go now. Have a great rest of your night.” Doc said to everyone, knowing that not everyone could hear it. It didn’t matter. The only thing that mattered was getting Lightning out of there. They stepped outside and were greeted with crisp air. Lightning shivered.
“It’s cold out here.”
“I know,” Doc said, turning on the car and opening the door. He helped Lighting in before getting on his side.
Doc turned the car on immediately and put the heat on. He muted the radio and looked at Lightning.
“Try going to sleep okay? I’ll wake you up when we get to the hotel.”
“Mkay.” Lightning mumbled softly, closing his eyes and curling up slightly. He rested his head against the car seat. He fidgeted with his pants as he tried to fall asleep. A little shopping trip won’t hurt. Doc thought. He made it to the store and rested his hand on Lightning’s shoulders.
“Hey kid,” he whispered. Lightning tried to shoo his hand away from his shoulders, his eyes still shut. “Kid listen. I’m going into the store real quick. You can stay in the car. I’ll be right back.” Lightning nodded as Doc left the car.
He locked the doors and walked up to the store. He went towards the back of the store. He looked at all the headphones before picking up some noise-canceling ones. He went to the checkout line and waited for the lady to scan the headphones. When she did, he asked,
“Do you think you could open those for me here? The kid is already overwhelmed, and I don't think that opening those would make it any better.”
“Of course, but I need the money first.” Doc nodded with a small sigh. He gave the lady a 50-dollar bill. Of course, there were better, more expensive headphones out there, but these ones seemed good enough for Lightning. The lady printed a receipt and gave it to him. While she looked for a box knife.
She found one and cut the box open. She took the headphones out of the packaging and put them in a bag, alongside the box.
“There you go.” She handed Doc the bag.
“Thank you.” He said, taking it.
“You’re welcome, have a nice night!”
“You too,” Doc said, walking away. He walked out of the store and back to his car. He hopped in and took the headphones out, setting the bag in the back seat.
“Hey Lightning, are you awake?”
“Barely…” he mumbled.
“I got you these noise-canceling headphones. They’re supposed to help with this stuff.” He whispered. Lightning looked over and gently grabbed them. He put them on his head.
“Thanks.”
“You’re welcome,” Doc said, starting the car. Which Lightning didn’t have a reaction towards. Lightning laid his head back down on the seat, facing the window.
Doc turned some music on because if he was being honest, it was too quiet for him. The volume was low, but at least he had something to tap his fingers to.
They made it to the hotel and Doc shook Lightning gently again.
“Lightning.” He looked over,
“What..?” He mumbled, taking the headphones off.
“We’re at the hotel.” Lightning nodded and got out of the car. Doc grabbed the store bag and left the car too. Lightning put the headphones back on and held Doc’s hand as they walked in. They made it to their room. Lightning immediately plopped on his bed. Doc meanwhile, got some cold water and shoved it in McQueen’s face.
“Drink it.” He said. Lightning stared at him for a moment before realizing what he wanted. He took the cup and drank some water. It felt good down his throat. He sighed and nodded. Doc turned the light off, so the only thing illuminating the hotel room was the bathroom light.
“I’m gonna get ready for bed.” He said, making sure Lightning could read his lips if he knew how to.
Doc got into pajamas and walked into his bed.
“Don’t stay up too late, okay? Get some sleep. Goodnight Lightning.” Lightning watched him as he got into the bed and talked. Lightning understood some of what he said.
“Goodnight.” He said back. He drank some more water and looked around for something to do. He found a notepad and pen and grabbed them. He laid on the edge of his bed and started drawing.
~~~~
Doc opened his eyes and rubbed them. He stretched and looked at the clock. It was 8:45. Not bad he thought. He looked over at Lightning’s bed. He still had his racing suit on. The headphones were right next to him, and he laid on the edge of the bed, a pen near his hand. Doc got up to go to the bathroom. When he was done he grabbed the notepad and looked at it. There were a bunch of sloppy drawings of Lightning himself. Some drawing attempts at his car. And a few of Doc. That made him smile. He looked down at Lightning and watched him for a bit. His back rose and fell as he breathed. His hair looked like a mess. His mouth was slightly open so there was no doubt there was drool there. Doc looked away and put the notepad on the desk.
He turned the Tv on, making sure the volume was low. He clicked through the channels before stopping on a racing one. It talked about yesterday’s race and upcoming interviews with Lightning. Doc smiled and kept looking through the channels. He found a show that looked interesting and started to watch it. Really he was just waiting for Lightning to wake up, so they could get breakfast. Doc managed to watch almost one episode of his show before he heard Lightning groan.
He rubbed his eyes and yawned.
“Ugh… I have a headache.” He mumbled. “What time is it..?” He looked at Doc. Doc looked at the clock.
“9:16.” He replied. Lightning nodded and slammed his head back into the blanket.
“How you feeling, rookie?”
“Okay.” He said. “My head hurts. Also I'm not a rookie anymore.”
“Eh whatever,” Doc shrugged. “You want some medicine or something?”
“Yea…”
Doc got up and went through his bag. He pulled out some aspirin he had packed.
“Here.” He threw the bottle at McQueen. Which hit his arm. He lifted his head up and grabbed the bottle. He opened it up and took some. He popped them in his mouth, and threw the bottle back at Doc.
“Water.” Lightning said, rolling on the bed to the nightstand. He found his cup from last night with a little bit of water in it. He drank it.
“Wanna go get breakfast?” Doc asked Lightning.
“Sure.” He shrugged. They got ready for the day, before heading out.
“Oh, bring those. You never know when you’ll need them.” Doc pointed to the headphones.
“I think you can connect your phone to it and play music through them.” Lightning shrugged with a slight smile, and put them around his neck. The two men made it to a restaurant and ordered breakfast. Doc had eggs and sausage, while Lightning had pancakes.
“So, did those headphones work well?” Doc asked him.
“Yep.” Lightning says, smiling.
“Good.” Doc says, with a small smile.
“Uh..” Lightning started, fidgeting with his fingers.
“Thank you for these. I don’t know if I said that already. But, I like these a lot.” He said.
“No problem kid. Just wanna make sure you’re not too upset y’know.”
“Yeah. Thanks for that.” Lightning says, smiling.
Lightning doesn’t know what he’d do without Doc now. He’s surprised he'd lived so long without him. He grazed his fingers on the headphones, and smiled even more. He looked down at his pancakes and began to eat them.
I'm
Huh.
So, Cole has a baby now. That's... that's not something I'd ever thought I'd say when watching this show. I don't think anyone did. So yeah. Parenthood. That's going to be a new challenge for all of them to face.
He has to get out of the Sons of Garmadon HQ first tho. That'll be a fun little adventure we barely see.
Mr. E is a nindroid.
That's it. That's my only thought.
No, wait. Are they one of the nindroids that fought against the ninja way back in season 3? Are they a friend we already met?
That's got me worried.
Zane is going to have to fight them, and hopefully get some intel? I... really doubt it.
And the Quiet One. Are they quiet bc they are contemplative? Or bc there's no thoughts? Or are they unable to speak? Hmmmm...
The possibilities.
The reveal of who they are is coming up soon tho.
And we still don't know much about Rumi.
AND WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHO SAMURAI X IS!
Gah!
I've been trying to figure out my schedule for the next few days. I'm going over to help my sister bake cookies tomorrow (there might honestly be too many hands), so I might be able to get 1 episode in. Sunday is a no-go at all. It's busy-busy-busy from the time I wake up until 2 am on Monday. Maybe 3 am. Monday I can watch 1 episode at some point. Tuesday and Wednesday I'm off work both days. So, I can finish up the season one of those days.
So, tomorrow is a tentative 1 episode, Sunday is none, Monday is 1, and Tuesday and Wednesday are free spaces on this Bingo card.
Hopefully see y'all tomorrow! If not, on Monday!
Weekly Update - 05/18/2023
Hey all! I think I'm going to start doing weekly updates since I have a lot going on and a lot of fics in the works! I want you to know what I'm currently working on (WIPs) and I'll also toss some life updates in here as well. I'm also going to mention requests I have in the pipeline and when I'm expecting to complete them. Maybe your request is in there! (It probably is)
Going forward the updates will be on Sunday, I'm just doing this now because I have ADHD and it's on my mind today lol.
Since I've been really following the winds of inspiration lately, I want to keep doing that so I'm just putting this here so you know where the winds are blowing lmao.
I'll also mention if I think my current longfic is going to be delayed or anything here as well.
Gonna cut it up into sections to keep it consistent and easy:
Long/Chaptered Fic Updates
Currently I'm working on A Bit Dodgy, as many of you know. There will NOT be an update this Monday (05/22/2023). Though I will be working on it this week for @welcometostayingawake to edit and I'll have it to post by 05/29/2023 (that's the goal). If it's going to be pushed back again, I'll let you all know the Sunday before (05/28/2023).
Mini-series Update
Worth the Risk Part 3 should be out this week. That's the goal anyway. I have a good chunk of it done but there's still a lot to do. <- Still hoping to have this out this week but we will see (05/22/2023)
Uploading The Fractured Moon Part 2 (either tonight or tomorrow yay) Continuing to chip away at The Fractured Moon Part 3
There's a top secret fic series coming out HOPEFULLY this weekend, but it may be next weekend instead depending on how quickly I can get it finished. I'm losing my mind over it. (It's a 3 parter and all 3 parts are coming out at the same time teehee) <- Editing that today 05/22/2023. Hope to be done with it by tonight!
In June there's a writing challenge for Pride that @flightlessangelwings is putting on and I'm working on my fic for that so I'll be announcing more for that fic once I have the details better outlined!
Fool Me Twice should be getting a part 2 soon. I'm hoping I'll feel inspired to at least start it this week but maybe not. <- Taking this off the list for this week. Focusing on ABD and requests (05/22/2023).
Still considering doing 2 other parts for The OJ Problem but honestly, it's not that exciting to me rn. Since it's more of a Valentine's Day fic I might consider just doing those next year. <- Taking this off the list for this week. Focusing on ABD and requests (05/22/2023) will probably just put this on for next year for valentine's day.
Requests
I still have a sizeable amount of requests. REQUESTS ARE STILL CLOSED CURRENTLY. If your request is in blue, that means I'm going to try to work on it this week (05/21-05/27). If it's in pink, I'm going to try to work on it a different week. It's taking me a while to get into the headspace for some of them so thank you for your patience. Green means it's done I'm just working on editing now. They are posted in no real order, just working on them as I feel inspired to.
Blue Jones X f!Reader requested by @saraicus
There are 2 prompts in particular that I liked from the list you sent so I'll be doing them. - His eyeliner running down as he’s banging you against his desk - You’re a new patient and he just grows overprotective towards you. Doesn’t want you to meet other men and keeps you in solitary confinement for his jealousy sake.
Moon Boys X f!Reader by @ravenz-hope
Gamer reader and the boys getting angsty over her being too obsessed with the game (most relatable thing ever) <- Haven't had the time to set up the post but this will be coming out very soon. Need to finish editing as well (05/22/2023)
Moon Boys X f!Reader by @simpforbritgents
Asking for something like Feeling Flustered where the moon boys are doing guided phone sex.
Moon Boys X f!Reader by @mercuryrosesixx
Moon Boys w/ a f!Reader w/ nipple piercings. <- Started working on headcanons (05/22/2023).
Marc Spector X f!Reader by @blueflowerhat
Marc shower sex based on AI prompt.
Steven Grant X f!Reader by Anon -
Steven and Reader are both virgins. Marc is guiding/coaching Steven.
Doctor Marc Spector X Patient Reader by @burnincrown
Role Reversal (sort of) of Not a Doctor - Marc is the doc, reader is the patient and he takes advantage - Dark Fic
Nathan Bateman X f!Reader by @campingwiththecharmings
This is the prompt that hit me like a Nathan-shaped mac truck! -> “if you don’t like my teasing why are you moaning”
Nathan Bateman X f!Reader by Anon
Cam girl reader x Nathan - Nathan turns to a cam girl, he's been kinda stalking her. (Excited hehe)
That's it for right now. I'm a busy lady as usual but I like having a few different projects going at once! More coming soon! Thanks for always being so awesome and supportive. Love you all!
Ryan Car Accident Angst
a/n: I am not 100% sure what to title this so it is untitled. I have wanted to do a angsty car accident fic for awhile so when @tearfallpixie tagged me in this post I knew what I wanted to do with it and this is where my mind went. I’m not the best at angsty stuff so I apologize if this isn’t my best work but I didn’t think it was too bad for my first real crack at angsty stuff.
P.S. sorry if the formatting is wonky, I had to upload this via mobile instead of my laptop because my laptop was being a jerk 😂 also this is unedited like usual so sorry for any typos!
Tumblr media
“Hey Ry, is y/n joining us for our celebration dinner tonight? I never asked, I know all the other girlfriends are going to join us,” Chris asks Ryan, curious. You and Ryan have been together for a few months now but he has not brought you around for anyone to meet you yet, everyone is interested in getting to know you.
“Yeah, I am picking her up later from work and we will meet you all at the restaurant. She has been nervous about meeting everyone which is why I haven’t brought her around quite yet,” Ryan smiles when he thinks of you, he is really looking forward to getting to introduce you to his second family tonight. If he had it his way he would have sooner but you were nervous about it, worried that being the boring school teacher you didn’t think that you would fit in with any of them. While he has reassured you otherwise your anxieties just have not left, in fact you are really nervous about this tonight.
“I didn’t think about it being Friday, at least it's the end of the week and she’ll be off for a few days.” Chris says, trying to sound supportive towards his friend.
“Yeah, and it’s fall break next week so they don’t go back until Thursday so we have almost a full week together, we talked about taking a road trip somewhere starting tomorrow for a few days. That way we can have alone time before the next tour hits.”
“I’m going to head out to go shower before we all meet up, I will see you tonight Ryan,” Chris says before leaving his friends house, they can continue to work on the new song tomorrow.
Ryan decides to go and take a shower himself before he comes to get you, wanting to refresh and have a clear mind when he sees you, excited that you are finally going to join him and meet the guys tonight.
Stepping out of the shower he gets dressed and then gets in his car, ready to make the drive to your school and pick you up. There is still time before you guys are all due at the restaurant but that doesn’t bother either of you, he already knew you planned to change and freshen yourself up after he got you, that you wanted to go back to your apartment before you went to see everyone.
He messages you that he has arrived and waits until he sees you pop outside of the school, making your way over to him with a smile with your bag.
When you get in his car you lean over the center armrest to give him a quick kiss, lingering in the moment before pulling away to put on your seatbelt when he starts to make the drive to your place.
“How was your day, hopefully the kids were easier on you today than yesterday,” he asks you as he softly grabs your hand with his, watching the road.
“It was, the kids were all pretty good today. Honestly for a Friday it wasn’t half bad, how was your day? Did you and Chris finish the song you were working on?” you ask, smiling at him. You loved watching him when he was focused on something, whether it be driving or watching a show with you, whatever it is he is paying attention to.
“We did not, for some reason there is something that just isn’t clicking. We decided to just give up and call it a day as we both were getting really frustrated, sometimes it's best just to call it a day,” you can see that he was a little frustrated while talking about it so you rub the back of his hand with your thumb hoping that he finds comfort in the touch.
“I understand that, at least we get a few days to relax and spend time together after tonight, I think that we both need this,” you answer him softly, hoping he is as excited as you are about having this time together.
He pulls into your apartment parking lot, grabbing your hand as you both make your way into the building. He takes a seat on your couch while you change out of your teacher's clothing into a decent pair of jeans and a nice tank top, touching up your hair and makeup before going back out and sitting next to Ryan, leaning your head on his shoulder.
“Thank you for agreeing to go tonight with me y/n. I know that it makes you nervous but everyone will love you, you’re going to fit in well.” he says, lightly rubbing his hand on your bare arm as you sit there quietly.
“I’d be lying if I said I am not anxious but I have to eventually right?” you ask him softly, sighing to yourself. “We should probably leave Ry.”
“Yeah, I was just enjoying the moment. Let’s head out.”
You both make your way back to his car so that you can start your way to the restaurant to meet up with everyone, not completely sure what you are currently thinking. As if Ryan can sense your hesitation he grabs your hand the second you are in your seat and turns to look at you.
“Seriously, don’t worry about tonight. It is going to be just fine, I promise. If you get too uncomfortable then we can leave.” He says, now holding your face with a hand so that he can make you look at him. You nod, not really having anything to say back.
Ryan pulls onto the road, starting his drive while you sit there quietly, watching out your window lost in your thoughts, not really paying much attention to anything, choosing to just think despite the fact that might not be the best thing for you to be doing.
Before either of you can process what is happening another car runs a red light, slamming into your side of the car, your door crumpling inwards, the window breaking covering you in glass as your head slams into the door making you black out almost instantly from the impact.
Ryan slams into his door from the force of the other car, feeling the airbag hitting him hard, leaving him out of breath momentarily as he registers what happens. He immediately looks over at you, panic and grief hitting him when he sees how bad of shape you are in. Trying to undo his seatbelt so he can get to you all he can do is grab your arm, desperate to try and get your attention, try to get you to wake up despite the fact part of him knows that you are too injured to do so, losing a lot of blood from a couple of your wounds.
He sobs, letting out a shaky breath, “I can’t lose you, please. I love you y/n, hang on. I can see lights coming down the road, they’re going to help you.”
When the paramedics arrived he wound up separated from you as they extracted you from the vehicle, being the most injured you were the first one to be transported out in an ambulance, the other driver and Ryan we’re next as neither was injured quite as badly as you were.
At the hospital they bandaged Ryan up, he had a couple broken ribs and minor whiplash but nothing that overly bad minus the severe bruising where the seatbelt held him in his seat. He refused to leave, he wasn’t completely sure what happened to you, they never told him other than that you had to be rushed back into emergency surgery. They wouldn’t tell him much as he isn’t family, so he is waiting for your parents to answer the call and to give the doctors permission to tell him what is happening because they live out of state.
He was trying his best not to break down and cry but it was becoming harder and harder the more time passed, he can’t believe that this happened when everything was supposed to be so great. He was going to tell you he loved you on your trip, the two of you had plans and he finally got to introduce you to his second family and this had to happen.
He feels a hand settle on his shoulder and looks up to see Rick looking at him concerned, Rick immediately pulling the taller man into a hug not really caring at this point who saw, just wanting to comfort his friend. Ryan finally broke down in the hug, not noticing that the rest of his friends and their girlfriends had now joined him in the waiting room.
“Have you heard anything yet?” Rick asks him softly when Ryan pulls away from the hug.
“Not yet, they said they can’t tell me anything unless her family okays it when they call because I am not family. All I know is she is in emergency surgery, but I have no clue what for or anything.” Ryan answers, drawing in a shaky breath and looking at everyone who has shown up in the waiting room. “She suffered a lot worse than myself or the other driver, they told me it was an idiot teen who was texting.”
“I’m sure she will be okay, she’s at the best place that she could be right now.” Chris says giving his friend a small smile as they all take a seat with him, wanting to support him as much as they can.
A few hours later a nurse comes out, looking around the room at everyone asking for Mr. Sitkowski. Ryan stands up and makes his way over to where the nurse was standing, eager to find out anything that he can.
“We got permission from Ms. y/l/n parents to update you and let you see her. She is out of surgery, she wound up breaking her neck. We did a surgery to repair it the best we can, she could potentially be paralyzed but we won’t know that until she is awake and we can do further assessments. She did need stitches in several cuts in her face and head, and has severe bruising all over. But, she is alive. If you would like to, you can go back to her room, we can get you a blanket and you can stay as long as you want. Normally that is reserved for family but we have permission for you to stay with her in her room.”
He lets everyone know what he was just told, them all going home for the night, before walking back with the nurse, quickly moving a chair close to your bed so that he can sit next to you and grab your hand. He wants to kiss your forehead, wake you up and let you know that he is there but he knows that he can't. All he wants is to give you what little form of comfort that he can while you are laying there, still unconscious.
“It will likely be several hours before she is awake. Would you like a blanket so you can sleep in the chair?” A nurse asks him sympathetically.
He nods, and gladly accepts the drink she hands him and the blanket before she shuts the lights off and he doses out.
He notices a little movement which quickly wakes him up several hours later, looking over at you. He quickly smiles when he notices that your eyes are fluttering open, finally having the reassurance that everything will ultimately be okay. He doesn’t care if you wind up paralyzed, if you can’t walk, all that he cares about is that you are awake and alive. Tears falling down his face in relief when you look up at him and you squeeze his hand lightly.
“You have no clue how happy I am you are awake y/n. I have been worried sick all night about you,” he says gently, moving to kiss your forehead as he looks at you with what you can only describe as love in his eyes.
“You can’t get rid of me that easily…” you trail off slightly, squeezing the hand that is currently holding yours.
He calls your nurse down so that they can do what they need to do, the surgeon himself coming in to do some tests and relaying the good news that you were able to wiggle your toes and move, so the paralysis risk is gone. When they finish all the tests and leave your room you look over at Ryan, wanting to tell him something you found really important.
“I heard you, you told me that you loved me,” you say softly, blushing as you glance at him.
“Yes,” he responds back, not an ounce of hesitation in his voice.
“While you thought I was dying in your arms, in front of you,” you say even softer, almost whispering when you make eye contact with him, while Ryan tries to figure out where you are going with this.
“Yes, I thought I was going to lose you,” he responds, reaching to brush some hair out of your face where it hung. Trying to distract himself slightly while he waits to hear what you have to say next.
“Well, I’m still alive. Care to repeat that?” You ask, this time a bit more bold as you look at him, begging him to do so.
“I love you y/n. The realization hit me when we were stuck in that car and I thought I was losing you. I’m sorry it took me almost losing you to realize that,” he says, kissing your forehead softly, not wanting to accidentally hurt you somehow as you laid in the bed looking uncomfortable.
“I love you too Ry, I wanted you to say it so I could say it back,” you say gently, knowing that while you have a long road ahead that he is going to walk every step with you. That he will help you with everything that you need, that he will love you and comfort you through this, and at that moment you knew that you could never let him go. You two made it through this, you can make it through the recovery and anything else that you face in the future if you make it through this and you know that you can with him by your side.
maid's worst nightmare - ch 5
back again with another chapter already. might make the next skip a little bigger just to kinda settle reader more thoroughly... idk! we'll see. anyway here we go-
ch 4 (previous chapters linked in that one)
You sighed to yourself as you waited on Bowser to come back. Not that you were looking at him any sort of way except for a criminal, but you quietly reminded yourself that just like male humans, even if he potentially looked good in his clothes, that was no reason to forget what an ass he’s been and would no doubt continue to be. Good looks did not excuse terrible actions. Not that you thought he looked good in the first place-! Fuck, you thought yourself into a corner. You rubbed your face; honestly, no. He wasn’t your type, being a reptile and much more importantly a fucking criminal, but for your own sake you’d better go along with him. You needed to survive as unscathed as possible until you were rescued.
"Now tell me I look just fine in clothing, bitch," Bowser snarled. You nearly jumped because he suddenly seemed to materialize right in front of you, standing tall and proud. "Uh, not that - I mean, I'm not really calling you a bitch - sorry," he added in a mutter as you looked him up and down. Behind him, his tail curled slightly toward his legs in what you cautiously assumed was mild guilt.
Wow. Honestly that wasn't at all what you expected. He'd put on a white tuxedo that seemed to be perfectly tailored to him, complete with coattails; it was cinched nicely around his wide waist, broad shoulders accentuated by the sharp seams, his choker even replaced with a handsome purple bowtie. You could easily imagine a matching hat, although if he had one he forewent it. And damn it, you had to admit it: "Okay fine. You look fantastic. Happy?" But just as you finished speaking, something caught your eye. "Wait - how are your clothes under your shell?"
"Told you so, little lady. As for your question, well, it's a trade secret, and I don't give those out to unspecial people." Bowser smirked smugly and bent down to be eye level with you. You kinda wished he'd stop doing that - for the first and hopefully last time you had to struggle not to blush from his mere proximity. "Back to our earlier conversation - no, I don't need help with picking clothes. Unlike Peach, I know what I wanna wear when I need to wear something. Now, I'll allow one question except how my shell works."
You hummed quietly in thought. A single question, huh… well, if he's doing this now, you might get another question in the future, and you're pretty sure if you do something wrong he'll tell you about it, so…
"My eyes are up here, handmaid," he practically purred. You snapped your eyes up from where they'd been curiously looking at where the suit went beneath the shell.
It was a struggle not to roll your eyes at the inherent innuendo.
"Okay, one question," you breathed. For once you'd intentionally be a little bold. "Do I have to agree with whatever you say or am I allowed to have opinions?"
Bowser blinked, then laughed, standing up straight again. "Have opinions! I can't promise I won't get pissed off, but I'd rather know it than have you just agree with me all the time. That's boring. Now, you get one day to settle in and wander around, got it? You'll stay in here, on my sofa, so I can make sure you don't try to hurt yourself or something. Escape is impossible for you so I'm not worried if you go wandering the castle."
Well that was… hm. Sort of mixed signals, if you were honest. But you'd have to make due - surely this was only for a short period of time until Peach sent for you. Briefly, your mouth opened for another question, but you shut it again instead of asking Bowser. You'd ask someone else later about going outside.
"Good!" Although a little condescending, the king nodded when you opted to stay quiet. "We'll talk more tomorrow. Now go get oriented with your new, hopefully temporary home."
" Hopefully temporary?" you repeated weakly. What the fuck did he mean by that? Suddenly, your mouth was awfully dry, so you grabbed for the water bottle.
The massive koopa just smirked and turned back toward the room to go put his suit away, leaving you in a state of immense unease. Surely Princess Peach wouldn't just abandon you here, right? Not like… not like she did at the castle…? Suddenly you felt an entirely new wave of dread, but this time it was over whether or not Peach was the woman you thought she was.
Afraid of sitting too long with that uncertainty, you bolted up from the couch and out of the room as quickly as you could get the door open. Peach couldn't possibly be that sort of person, right? There's no way. She just had to leave in a hurry because Bowser was coming to try and steal her away as part of their apparent cat and mouse dynamic! That's why she left you! Plus, you knew from the beginning of the attack that it hadn't been a normal raid and was much more violent than usual.
You bustled down similar-looking hallways at random until your legs were burning slightly from the near-jogging pace you had set. Several of the trooper koopas shot you curious looks as you passed them, but no one stopped you. It did strike you that they all seemed to have quite an interest in you, though - they didn’t even try to hide their curious looks or staring. Finally, you found a bench you could sit on, and practically flopped down onto it with a choked whimper.
Okay, you had to get a hold of yourself. Your situation was… not exactly bad , but it wasn’t good. Kidnapped with no one but the princess and potentially other maids realizing your absence, trapped in a strange castle with an apparently unpredictable king, doomed to stay for an undetermined amount of time… And you had yet to meet any of his eight kids. If they were anywhere as bad as him, you had no idea how you would survive. Would they like you? Maybe if you were lucky, yeah.
…Was there actually a chance Princess Peach wouldn’t rescue you?
That thought terrified you more than anything else. You would be fed good food and the couch was relatively comfortable; you wouldn’t break from lack of basic care. You could probably ask about bathing and clean clothes later that night, fairly certain those would be readily provided. What couldn’t be provided was the much-needed light at the end of the long tunnel; for now, with that damn koopa teasing that Peach wasn’t who you thought, you were facing a totally black abyss.
Tears pricked at the corner of your eyes, your breath catching in your throat as the reality sunk in: you’ve been kidnapped by the biggest baddie around.
Barely suppressing another whimper, you pulled your knees to your chest and hugged them tightly. You didn’t have the same energy to break down like earlier, but that didn’t stop the sadness and dread and fear that was quickly making a home in your heart. So you quietly just hid your face in your knees. For maybe half an hour, you hid, silently mourning the loss of the freedom you had just attained. Hell, you couldn’t even convince yourself during that time that Bowser had just said that to mess with you.
The truth was that you didn’t know Princess Peach very well at all. For all you really knew, Bowser was more trustworthy than she was, but you wouldn’t know that for a while. And as much as you wanted to believe otherwise, he’d planted a malicious seed that was going to fester and grow whether or not you tried to fight it.
All you wanted was a little normalcy and stability - you had no idea why that seemed to be so hard for you to find. At least you knew that if you ended up abandoned here, your quality of life would be decent at worst. You wouldn't dare to hope it could potentially be good, not with what you've already experienced.
Ok so I’m the first person who wrote in about Danny thoughts earlier and here’s one of the ones I had yesterday but it’s kinda long winded and has like none of the good parts that a whole fic would but if it does anything to you like it did for me maybe that’s where you can come in and make it better 😂
So like we already know Josh is BIG cause he puts it all out on display in that frickin jumpsuit every now and then and it makes me go crazy. But I like to think that Danny is secretly just as huge if not more so cause he’s such a large human in every other way and maybe it’s just my inner size kink coming out but I just want this giant curly headed beauty of a man and his hopefully very well endowed genitals to ruin me into next week please.
Imagine, if you will, just watching him at the end of the bed throwing his hair up in a messy bun with his lil bangs out before he grabs you by the thighs and drags you down to where he’s kneeling so he can eat you out like he hasn’t had a meal in days and make sure you good and satisfied before he even thinks about his needs (which are probably slightly uncomfortable at this point but I also like to think he’s a giver like that and doesn’t mind).
And then he flips you over and props you up with a pillow or two under your hips for a better angle since he’s so tall before he begins to fuck you so good from behind while he’s standing at the end of the bed. He’s grabbing your hip with one hand for more leverage and pinning your arms behind your back with his other. And he’s so big that it stretches you out in the best possible way and gets so deep while barely even trying. It’s all so good that he’s knocking the air out of your lungs and has your legs a quivering mess.
When he finishes he’d lean right over you and place hot steamy kisses along your shoulder blades or the back of your neck in between grunts of pleasure as his big hands release your arms to squeeze your ass. After taking a minute to regain some energy he peels his sweaty body away from yours and slips out of you before stepping over to the bathroom to grab a washcloth. When he comes back you’re already starting to doze off and you haven’t even moved a muscle yet cause I feel like getting fucked by Danny would honestly wear me the hell out like this.
So he wipes you both off a bit and stands where your face is turned to kiss your forehead and make some joke about how “it looks like someone’s ready to pass the fuck out” before you quip back with something like “cmon I know this was just your plan to make sure Im too sore to go on that hike we talked about tomorrow”
He pulls the pillows out from under your hips and puts them back at the head of the bed before hopping into his side and extending a hand for you to grab and help yourself crawl up so you can spoon together with him completely encompassing you in his size and warmth and presence ugh
FUCK OKAY- i- the first thing I thought of after I finished reading this, was Danny just fucking me completely to sleep.
I have a strong feeling this man can go ROUNDS.
Red, White & Royal Blue
By Casey McQuiston
“What’d you steal today?”
“Anything good this week?”
“That one is true.”
“Oh yeah, that was a wild night.”
“That can’t possibly be a real class you’re taking.”
“Whose wedding?”
“You’re going to ask them to dance, then?”
“Something is wrong with both of you.”
“Could be weirdly effective.”
“Do either of y’all know what a viscount is?”
“It’s cute how you think everything is about you.”
“It should be, honestly.”
“Do you know how to waltz?”
“I’m sure I don’t know what you mean.”
“Looks like it’s your lucky day.”
“I believe perhaps you should consider switching to water.”
“I want so badly for you to explain to me how this is funny.”
“Please, tell me another joke.”
“Is it too late to take the faking-my-death option?”
“Are you really not understanding how much I don’t care at all how you feel about this?” “You won’t miss anything.”
“So there’s really no way I’m getting out of this?”
“I don’t know what else to do, is the thing.”
“Shakespearean in that hopefully I’ll get stabbed to death.”
“I can’t believe I have to learn this garbage.”
“That’s because you are a nerd.”
“Everything looks like a museum.”
“Have you practiced what you’ll say tomorrow?”
“I think you’ve got the right idea.”
“Do you mind?”
“This is your fault!”
“How is this possibly my fault?”
“I cannot believe even mortal peril will not prevent you from being the way you are.”
“So you do have some fight in you.”
“I’d rather not be the little spoon.”
“Do you really want to have that conversation?”
“I didn’t realize you heard that.”
“I feel like you’re missing the point.”
“How can I be wrong about my favorite? It’s a personal truth.”
“It’s a personal truth that is wrong and bad.”
“You exhaust me.”
“I enchant you.”
“I’ll call security.”
“Fair enough.”
“Wow, I thought I could trust you.”
“It was like you were tying to set him on fire with your mind.”
“What is your point?”
“Bring them to the house.”
“Are you done? I have some actual work to do.”
“Because we all knew better than to try and stop you.”
“Just bring me my pizza.”
“It ever make you laugh to think how much this pisses assholes off?”
“You really think it’s such a bad idea?”
“You don’t think I was out of line?”
“You were in on this, weren’t you?”
“Did this man just say ‘sweat drop down my balls’?”
“I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.”
“I’m going for a fun, and you’re coming with me.”
“You’re not surprised?”
“So, what are you going to do?”
“Is this a diabolical scheme of seduction?”
“Cool to see you’re not dead or anything.”
“Do you mind?”
“Find your way here okay?”
“You’ve been dodging me for weeks.”
“Do you ever stop talking?”
“I don’t like that look.”
“Hey, don’t threaten me with a good time.”
“Call it historical curiosity.”
“So you’re upset because the rumors aren’t true.”
“You are a wanker.”
“I’m going to need you to not call me that right now.”
“You’ve always backed me up until now.”
“Why don’t you say whatever it is you need to say?”
“I’m not sure I’m following.”
“It’s not about that. This time is different.”
“Hello, excuse me, can we get another round of these please?”
“Have I mentioned lately that you’re a demon?”
“I trust you can handle yourself?”
“Bisexuality is truly a rich and complex tapestry.”
“What are you going to do about it?”
“Would you describe it as supersonic?”
“Can y’all go sit somewhere else?”
“Awesome, fuckin’ love doing things out of spite.”
“Has anyone shown you around the clubhouse yet?”
“You really are determined to get shoved out of an emergency hatch one day, huh?”
“Are you sure you don’t want to talk about it?”
“Well, I hope it was fun, because if anyone ever finds out about this, we’re all fucked.”
“Yes, we can unpack the ironic symbolism later. Go.”
“If you finish that sentence, I’m going to spend tonight in jail.”
“Okay, I’m clearing my schedule for the afternoon.”
“I don’t believe in systems when I’m on vacation.”
“How long have you lot come out here?”
“Hope you’re ready to fuckin’ party.”
“Fuck off, five-nine is average.”
“Can’t you ever just do one thing without having to be so goddamn extra about it?”
“Do you have any idea what that means?”
“You think I don’t care as much as you?”
“You’re sure as hell acting like it.”
“I never said you were a coward.”
“Your hair in the mornings is truly a wonder to behold.”
“And there’s nothing wrong with you.”
“Yeah, don’t let it go to your head.”
“I suppose we do have to face the consequences at some point.”
“When are you going to tell us who you’re dating?”
“You gonna fight me?”
“I want you to tell me why.”
“You’re not the same.”
“How the fuck did they get these?”
“You’re giving my ulcer an ulcer.”
“But short for a stormtrooper.”
“Thank God you’re here. I was about to come get you myself.”
“I fucking love you.”
“You’re too young to understand.”
“That is the bravest son of a bitch I’ve ever met.”
“Oh, will you all shut up for a second?”
“Where the fuck have you been?”
“I said, you look great, baby!”
“My life is a cosmic joke and you’re not a real person.”
“You should have tried to stop me.”
“Are you actually quitting for real?”
“How are things over there?”
“Wanted to come by to see if I could help with anything.”
“Will you please just help me pick?”
“Fire under my ass for no good goddamn reason.”
“You’re kind of hot when you get all indignant.”
Today was a very very sleepy day. We did go out. And I did do some work. But it was mostly a sleepy, rainy day.
I was feeling unsettled last night. And honestly I still feel a bit unsettled. But sleep was pretty good.
I work up at 730 originally to ask James of the car was parked in the right spot for street cleaning. And of course it wasnt so James went out to move it and then came back to bed with me. We slept until 10. Just mostly just dozed but I was fully asleep and getting up was really hard.
I would shake off the sleepies though. Got up and got washed and dressed. My hair dried a little funny but that's alright. James would make the bed and headed downstairs to make me a grilled peanut butter and Jesse and made cornbread. Excellent.
I would do a little cleaning of my frog tank. Had to take the bucket outside and had to be in the rain for a minute. The temperature outside was cool but honestly was nice. But we could not have the door or windows open. Because the train just kept coming inside. We had a bedroom window open all night and woke up with a wet windowsill.
Breakfast was nice. I was tired. We would just hang out for a little. But I would jump into sewing. And would get all the not fully fabrics done. I just didn't have it in me to deal with the fluffy ones.
After I finished sewing I would start adding faces. And James would join me to help stuff then after they got their face installed. We had a good little system going. And once I was done faces, James would continue the stuffing while I worked on sorting my boxes of eyes and noses. It's very organized now and I'm very pleased.
Once I was done that I went to lay on the couch for a bit. Eventually James would join me. And after laying together for a bit we decided to go get hoagies and walk around target.
This was very fun. We got into crazy laughing fits and we were just being super silly. I liked my sandwich but they only put mayo in the middle and I was trying to explain to James that I often war food chasing textures. Like this sandwich was mainly for the texture of mayo and bread so if there is no mayo it is disappointing. And James thought this was so silly and we were laughing and being ridiculous. I literally had tears rolling down my face. Ja.sa was like. Are you going to be okay at target??? And I was like. I do not know but let's try.
It was nice walking around target but I was also feeling a little dizzy and tired. But I was still having a good time. Got a few things we needed. A few we didnt. I ran to the bathroom while James was paying. And I met them to carry our stuff to the car. We forgot to put bags in the car again. Silly.
We would go home and I was really tired. James would put things away and then joined me. They played video games and I fell asleep.
I don't actually know how long I was asleep but it was a deep sleep. I was a little loopy.
James was cooking and would make dinner. A little to close to our late lunch. So I just felt crazy fully. My stomach still kind of hurts now. Dinner was smashed potatoes and broccoli and it was good so I didn't want to not eat it but I was hurting a little.
James asked if I would watch Dune with them. Of course my love. I don't really like watching movies but I've been enjoying it. I specially liked watching dune with James because I could ask questions since they know it so well.
And I did really enjoy it. We took a half hour or so break. I got in a weird headspace and we talked through it and it helped a little bit I was kind of upset about nothing. I don't know why. But I would be alright. And we were able to finish the movie.
And now it is late. And I am really tired. This was a lazy, rainy day, and I feel good.
Tomorrow I go back to work. And hopefully get more lesson stuff completed. And that whatever crazy storm is coming through doesn't effect my drive.
Goodnight everyone. Sleep good!
