People who deeply understand both saw and homestuck are built different actually. Are we built BETTER? ..... no, but we are definitely built differently.

YEAH… We are definitely built differently!! Both have a penchant for intricacy that can border on pedantic to outright stupid, and both are very gay pieces of media that you do not expect to be gay when you first hear about/get into it. It’s an incredible time, isn’t it?

Despite everything, they are so, so heavily tied together that it’s insane. Some plot points and recurring themes/imagery in Homestuck hit significantly differently when you know things about Saw. The best part is, you only really have to watch the first film, Saw (2004), to get a firm grasp on these things- which makes it all significantly more accessible, since that movie is more of a Psychological Horror/Thriller than the later movies, which tend to lean increasingly heavier and heavier into the Splatter genre. Once again, this is the audience’s cue to watch Saw (2004) if you haven’t already, lol.

But things get really crazy when you start retroactively attributing other movies in the franchise to it. Just absolutely fucking bonkers. I love, love, love the concept of applying Saw theming to the Alpha Trolls. Anyone who has Alpha Trolls x Saw ideas needs to fork them over. I’ve already got one anon I need to respond to with regards to that, and receiving that ask was a fucking delight.
