now do i believe that because will was kept alive and still has a connection with the mindflayer that there’s a chance he will be used as a pawn like in s2 but more intensely and could be viewed as a “villain”? well, yes. i think the chance a character who is still connected with the villain for a reason we don’t know has a very high possibility of “playing both sides”. remember mike said will can be like a spy?? a spy can play the role of the enemy but not to help the enemy but to create an illusion in order to fully dismantle the enemy’s plans.

now do i think the show will end with will dead or being taken by the upside down to be doomed to an eternity of evilness? um, no. i don’t think will will be a villain in a way that most are thinking. the mindflayer has had a plan with will and there’s a reason for it, but i don’t believe for a second that the show will end with will dying or that he’ll become fully evil. i believe it’s like a harry potter and voldemort situation. voldemort had different horcruxes and harry was one of them. voldemort tried to kill harry, but it didn’t work so harry pretended to be dead in order to fight voldemort and kill him which killed the bond that they had. i think it’s going to be a very similar thing between the mindflayer and will.

#The Sun and The Void #aroaessidhe 2023 reads #hm. haha. surface level this is kinda interesting and cool but i am going to follow with so many complaints #though I feel like it didn’t go into the magic or worldbuilding as much as I wanted and it felt irrelevant to the characters #like how does the magic even work? idk man #though I feel like it didn’t go into it as much as I wanted and it felt irrelevant to the characters #very slow to start and the pacing is weird. it would also go ages without having the other POV. very disjointed? #it felt like the first 60% was just context for the group of characters getting together as a group and then it was a bit predisposed with #They’re A Group! even tho. they're barely a group for long #the authors note mentions that the story concept started with a line about the god and ritual and…..yeah I can kind of tell #I feel like everything was built up around it in a way that ultimately that part didn’t fit right #I never bought that any of them were actually like fully committed to the evil dark magic? and also there’s this plot twist #that they have to fully kill the sacrifices & I was like…did we not already know that? girl r you stupid what do you think sacrifice means #also #oh my god at like half way one of the MCs is like. oh finally this guy who I’ve been exchanging letters with for months turned up to get me #away from here! by the way I’ve been exchanging letters with this guy and we’re friends! and like. she’d been doing nothing much for the #last 10% of the book why was that not like….shown as something she was doing? and like build up the friendship for the reader instead of #just dropping it on us - and also that we know the character from the other POV. and hes a racist prick. and we're supposed to believe she' #charmed by him because of this letter writing WE DIDN’T SEE….. why. #and then also that is like. he’s a shitbag and it’s obviously not romantic at all. he’s manipulative and terrible to her #EXCEPT at the end it implies his bad behaviour is because demon and oh uwu he gets all beat up and maybe hes sowwy now #and starts to imply she likes and is attracted to him? and I get the impression the next book is gonna be like evil power couple dynamic? #which. feels like the first concept the author had; and then tried to build up to that but not effectively lmao #for the lesbians: #I DO APPRECIATE having an assumed love interest then realising that that was idealised and actually you have feelings #for this other person you’ve become friends with! nice slow switch up. though quite brief #I do however dislike that when she admitted her feelings to the first LI and she rejected her it was still framed as the other’s fault #for not reciprocating the feelings….worst trope….also like. it kind of conflated her not feeling that way to her having a bit of class disc #which. yikes? oh my god stop villainising people for not reciprocating romantic feelings (ALSO they turn out to be related anyway 🤪) #i just feel like the romance switchover could have been done with more nuance and complexity

“The worst.” When she kept watching him expectantly, he made a show of rolling his eyes at her. Still, the very next thing he did was sit up to be able to lean his head onto her shoulder. “I— We— it’s complicated. He needs to stay around here because that’s where the most temp jobs are for dancers like him. And I can’t just ask him to settle for waiting tables just so we could be in the same state. Plus, obviously, there’s the whole thing about dad hating his guts.”

“That does sound complicated,” she confirmed, the arm she had wrapped around Simon’s shoulder moving up so her fingers could play with his curls. It felt almost embarrassingly soothing to have her repeat the same gesture she’d been doing ever since he’d been a little boy. “What does your heart say, though? Do you truly care about him?”

Once again, Simon felt himself sigh. It must’ve been at least the thirtieth time today, but then again, who was counting?

“I do,” he finally said, more a whisper than anything. “So much.”

A dad and his kids were looking at reptiles and whatnot and asking me to take animals out for them so they could look at them and while one som was looking at the reptiles, the other was looking at the small animals and was playing with a mouse through the glass.

And the dad asked if he wanted the mouse just out of nowhere, and the kid said yes. So the dad asks if I can get the mouse for them to buy it, and I asked if they had an enclosure set up already (when I knew they didn’t, clearly) and the dad said they didn’t.

I told them we couldn’t sell it to him if he didn’t have an enclosure ready and he understood.

But he like… didn’t even seem like he was going to try to get it together while in the store? He was literally just going to buy the mouse and just like… take it home with just the box it came in. Because his kid said he wanted it (the kid didn’t even seem too into the mouse, the dad was trying to convince him to get it. Whole thing was kinda weird).

I just… like why would you ask for the animals before getting the stuff you need to take care of it?? We get people like that every single day. And sometimes we have to walk them through and help them find every single thing they’d need for the animals and tell them the basic care information that you should know before getting the animal.

And then you have the ones who no longer want to get the animal as you’re explaining to the care and stuff because it turns out to be “too expensive”, when the animal itself is like under 20 bucks. 20 bucks covers the animal, but you need a place to put it and stuff to feed it ya know.

Maybe it’s just the tism, but I don’t get impulse buying animals like that. I always research before I get something, even if it’s a cheap animal. Like my 8 dollar anole for instance, I researched anole care for weeks and had the enclosure setup way in advance before I got her. Don’t get me wrong, I have bought some animals over the years impulsively in the moment before, but only if I knew what I was getting into and had the means and money to take care of it.

I wouldn’t look at an animal I had no basic knowledge on and just ask to get it without knowing a single thing about it or it’s care. Like… why would you do that??

This turned into a rant, sorry. I’m just so tired of people, man lol.
