what are your thoughts on the new issues (if you buy them obv)? I got really into DD during the comet arc , then I stopped buying them (because of the price as well), I tried getting ones from the main series now and then but they seem a bit repetitive and don't interest me as much, the colour fests are usually real fun tho

oh, see, the thing is- I'm not Italian haha! I'm from a country nearby that has a huge thriving comic community, and publishers who translate Dylan Dog comics (and most Bonelli comics, rly), but we're not up to date with them! We're currently on 402 here, and the other dyd serials are also behind a few years, give or take... So I can't speak on what's coming out rn in Italy (tho I hear things from friends and am very interested in whatever they're cooking up rn with the trilogy that's supposed to bring dyd 'back to normal', whatever that means lol). From what I've read so far - which is everything up until 402, I can say that I'm.... On the fence hah..

The meteor cycle, God bless its heart, was a mishmash of many different ideas, and it varied in quality just as much, and while I appreciate the Thought behind it, and the 'continuity' they tried putting into it... I'm not rly satisfied gbhjbcxhbcf as I've been told, it's very hard, production wise, to even organize such big events in the comic, coordinating different writers Nd artists, having them all contribute to the growing narrative.. Did they succeed here? N-not really lmfao. Did I like what they did with Dylan? Nnnnot really? Did I think the conclusion in 399+400 was satisfying after nearly 70 issues of buildup? NOT REALLY.

(I did like the angst, Dylan's slow loss of 'personhood' forced onto him by the narrative more interested in having a Hero with a capital H rather than a normal man, I liked how this visibly tortured him, how it impacted him down the line when we saw him grow apathetic and almost casually detached from the mounting horrors of everyday life influenced by the meteor looming in the sky. I wish they'd played around more with Dylan's inherent fears Nd paranoia, I wish there had been more discussions of marriage as buildup for 399, and I wish John Ghost wasn't such a lame one dimensional villain)

The 666 cycle that's only starting up here, I'm really not sure about, Nd I'm not sure I like the changes to the lore, or Dylan's character which has kind of turned into a 'cool' catchphrase machine for Recchioni to show how much he reads books nd watches movies lol...

Anyway. All this aside. I'm still very interested in the stories, bc I inherently Like Dylan (nd the other characters), and the other dyd serials, like the zombie AU specials, or the colorfests you mentioned! Especially the colorfests bc God so many incredible talented artists are working on them, and they're telling stories I could never see on the regular (LITTLE ZOOTOPIA AU FROM THE 32ND CF MY BELOVED.?.)

(I'm also a clown who thinks that one day Dylan nd Groucho will honest to God kiss in some CF or side serial nd until then I'll be buying this fucking comic nd supporting all the artists I like who are working on it 😤)

on point 1: so i fixed that, and then out of curiosity i went and checked my feedback form - turns out there were eight unread responses, ope. and turns out there was a massive bug and subtraction just. didnt work right.

so i fixed those, and then i added a fixed navbar, and that caused all SORTS of issues but it looked better so blargh but anyway. The Website Has Been Updated (which is also, the tumblr! i dont know how tumblr works but if you go to the full page the changes are there too). Now the site has like, a better navbar??? this took way too long to be worth it lmfao

Also most of the replies to the form was about Homesturdle. One day I will get back to the Homesturdle^2 update that I had planned, but that day is, "i don't want to learn typescript" days away lol

ON DUALS (alicorn theory primer)

Dual Classpects are a couple of things. They're a system to give funky names to sprite-fused Homestuck characters, they're a way to make cool sounding titles, but it's also mostly today's XKCD.

In the case of today (April 23, 2022), we're gonna be playing around with Dragon of Storm.

DRAGON OF STORM

(yeah i know the website is a lil janky rn. if anyone has suggestions for a logo n stuff hmu)

Anyway. Dragon of Storm. The search page says that a Dragon of Storm is made out of ThiefBard of BreathHope, so to get a Dragon of Storm you could do a few things.

Number one is that you grab a Bard of Breath and a Thief of Hope, and sprite-fuse them together. This is the original way Dual Classpecting worked, and I think it's fairly understandable. Bam, two people, now one person. New classpect.

The other way to do it is through Alicorn Theory, which is not for this post in terms of an in-depth explanation, but I'll do a brief rundown here. Basically, what if alicornhood is achieved through doing character growth Really Really Good, like, triumphing over your classpect + a bonus one.

For the purpose of this post, we'll be looking at making an alicorn out of a Thief of Hope -- Peter Quill, from GOTG2.

Peter's whole thing is that he's been actively taken from places, but that gives him new opportunities, new hopes. There's more to this classpecting, but I'll save it for a larger post on the Hope aspect (most of what I'd say in it can be viewed here). For now, let's take it as granted and move on.

To become fully realized as a Dragon of Storm, he needs to overcome the challenges of both his inverse classpect (Page of Rage) AND the bonus secondary one (the inverse of Bard of Breath, Maid of Blood). This actually fits GOTG vol2 kinda perfectly.

Peter's big new struggle in this film kinda IS that of a Maid of Blood. He just found out about a new, like, literal biological part of him, but it's also a new familial relationship that drives the film's conflict. He has to overcome this, become a Bard of Breath (one who passively destroys thru and is passively destroyed by freedom/youth/innocence/travel), leave Ego behind, and be with his team.

He also achieves Page of Rage in this film - like, the giant pacman is. i mean. like. come on.

By the end of the film, once he's finally at his like, Character Growth Achieved moment, that's a Dragon of Storm, I tell ye. I declare it.

I'm really bad at it so far I've only thought of this question; do you have any pet and Are you a dog person or a cat person? I don't have any pet rn I would love to have one. And I used to be a dog person but then I saw lots of people with these cute little cats and I was like I want one too. If I had million dollars.
