This is just my personal headcanon but I think Ghost is so clingy. He tries to hide it, tries not to be, but he's lost too many people and he just so desperately wants to hold onto the people he has. Even has some moderate separation anxiety when his Darling isn't around. Which sometimes manifests in a lot of manhandling of his Darling, and again he's like "this is too much, I'm being rough and I don't wanna scare anyone with how much I need them."
