#I have never taken a cooking class #and I think I'm a pretty decent cook #I've read some books about food science and played around with things #my husband has never taken a class on car maintenance or repair #he just watches a lot of car youtube and is willing to try things out #I learned about weather patterns from observation and talking to people who know more than me #admittedly they did tell me about types of clouds in elementary school #but they certainly didn't explain the snowpack or drainage or how mountains affect wind and clouds #I learned to knit by asking older ladies questions and the occasional supplemental book or youtube vid #at some point you gotta learn how to learn things #without someone else organizing the curriculum and holding you accountable

ok ok I will say the gentleness Rengoku has within him is by far the most interesting piece of his character to me and I likely overemphasize it a lot when I think about him. he's obviously super physically strong and disciplined and hilariously blunt and serious about his work. and just as prominent is the undercurrent of care that vibrates through every little move the guy makes ... the way he so naturally pats shoulders and tips his head and loudly appreciates every bite of every meal. in a sea of characters whose actions stem from fear and hatred and shame and duty, Rengoku is rooted in love—specifically platonic love—and he's so transparent about it. it's such a gift ... can you blame me for being dazzled by it?

Shout out to the neighbors who are notorious in the neighborhood for having the only dog that barks loudly and constantly, who thought it would be fun today to let their stupid loud ass dog out at 5 am for some reason. You'll never imagine what happened next!

#you would think they figure out a solution to having the only dog in the neighborhood that is going off constantly #like. perhaps. if you observe that your animal is going off every time someone walks by (which is near constantly when the weather is nice #since we live so close to the park) maybe you could. idk. put him in the back yard instead of the front? #maybe try pet training/obedience classes? maybe even explore humane muzzlong options or something? like its clear your dog has a problem an #its not being solved by you leaving him out for hours at a time and running outside if he starts to bark for more than 30 seconds to yell #JOJO SHUT UPPPPPP at him. which doesnt work and now youre adding more noise to the situation and its so early. you fucking dunce. #i hope you know the whole neighborhood hates you!!!!! #my neighborhood would be so quiet and peaceful if not for this fucking dog. i dont understand how you can juat allow the dog to do that all #the time. surely youre aware of it???? #fuck you jojo and fuck your humans too. lmao

gloomy weather is beautiful. It’s so incredibly beautiful, the way the clouds grey, the way the wind blows, and you can just smell the hint of rain. How people go inside to avoid it but some sit by their windows to hear the pitter patter of rain, or some brave souls go out and dance in it. Those souls are cleansed by the rain and the wind, and they are the happiest souls I’ve known.

getting a wee bit emotional thinking about no matter the verse zoya always somehow ends up in a position of leadership or even just the north star of whatever friendship constellation she finds herself in. she is the person always rallying the group and willing to make the tough... not always morally sound calls for the betterment of the collective. it should also be recognized that this stems less from her thirst for power ( which is also a thing! ) but more so her striving towards community no matter where she is. the grisha are othered... the suli are othered... witches are othered... she is always seeking out her people and trying to keep them safe by any means necessary and if that means wearing a crown or leading an army into battle she will do just that Every Time
