I absolutely HATE how Demeter is so often villianized in the story of Hades and Persephone. Especially in this episode of Lore Olympus, like what is the point of re-writing a myth about a girl being kidnapped, held hostage and her mother grieving over her into this!? Like what's the message here....
I get that it's a retelling and doesn't have to be accurate but it still rubbs weirdly when in comparison, if that makes sense?

Lore Olympus
I stop reading Lore Olympus for like 5-6 months only to see everything going down the gutter. I have been on board with the making of the webtoon since around 2019 mayhaps, which made it hard to entirely give up on reading Rachel's webcomic. ☕
Past the line its ranting as to what I see bad and why I stopped reading the webtoon.
An unwanted season caused a significant downfall in the main female character's writing. Having Persephone bully a lower-class citizen, make her act bitter, jealous and rude. Girl, if you are so afraid of Hades cheating on you, then there should have been a significant red flag, which appeared back in season 1, as he had cheated on Minthe (albeit emotionally) WITH YOU.
I disliked how every goddess looked the same, yet Persephone was seen as significantly more beautiful. They all genuinely look as if they were made from the same cookie cutter. 🍪
This is a list of reasons why I stopped reading Lore Olympus:
Multiple videos and people have stated the blaring problems within the narrative of the story. I didn't believe it at first, but then I saw how poorly written it was and how their conflicts with the surrounding world were non-existent.
Demeter's writing. As much as I hated her as a kid, now I realise that the love between a mother and a daughter is sacred, which is what the "The Kidnapping of Persephone" was to entail. A narrative on loss and familial love.
Hades became bland, boring and unlikable, which is a shame as I was literally a simp for that man.
The realisation of the fact Persephone gave up her education, her friends, and her mother for a man. We all love the flower nymphs, their dynamic with our precious Kore Cob was sacred, especially since we did not see much of them.
They goofed up my favourite characters, making them all feel one-dimensional and uncanny.
Final words:
So many routes Rachel could have gone to, and she chose to continue on a story that could have finished with season 2 and the wedding.
It is alright if you enjoy reading the webtoon, and adoring the characters and how the story is going. As a person who has been a fan for many years, it is understandable.
Having CDawgVA voice Hades in Emirichu's webtoon video was just the cherry on top, so I understand if that's what sparked your interest. 😉

Theory: Is Hades’ Dream a Vision from the Fates?
"In episode 102 (I Love the Way You Make Me Feel), Hades has a dream in which he is married to Persephone and they have a child. In the dream, Hades gives the child breakfast, and Persephone comes into the kitchen asking if they are running late.
She is decked out in jewels and she asks Hades if he will zip her dress for her. He does and she thanks him, calling him “Aidoneus,” and telling him that she loves him.
Tumblr media
As this dream progresses, things start to blur, glow and distort, until finally Hades is jolted awake.
Episode 114 (VHS) is where Hades finally watches the tape from the Fates of his first meeting with Persephone. Throughout, we see the same treatment to the images as in Hades’ dream (blurring, distorting, etc.); the kind of quality you might find on an old VHS tape.
Tumblr media
While this could simply be a stylistic choice in episode 102, it begs the question: is the dream actually a vision from the Fates? By the end of Hades’ dream, right before he wakes up, it looks stylistically more and more like the VHS tape Hades watched in episode 114.
Could Hades’ hope for a family be wishful thinking? Or have the Fates sent him a glimpse into his future through his dreams? Only time will tell."

Lore Olympus is like if you put Greek Mythology in a pan, mixed it with your average Melanie Martinez songs, 13 Reasons Why, Euphoria, Twilight, and Riverdale; then burn it in the Wattpad Baker 1000, and try to cover up the absolute burnt monstrosity with one of those artificial pink frosting that tastes like battery acid and piss.
