A Dream Come True
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Female!Reader
Word Count: ~1.3k
Warnings: fluff <3
Request by anon: When steve and vixen ever settle down they might have a small wedding with their friends invited , loving vows , steve would have a simple yet beautiful rings for him and vixen, vixen herself would make her wedding dress (40's and 50s inspiration) bucky is the best man as for natasha as the maid of honor . Adorable part they ask tony morgan and pepper if morgan can be the flower girl they allow it , sam walks her down the isle even tearing up " i cant belive you two are tying the knot! ;-;" she smiles at sam "its alrigjt sam^~^ dont be sad”. Oh the reception is both sweet and little rowdy (best mans speach lol bucky remembering how they had good times in the past ) some cracked some laughs, theres tears and one did the protective brother mood "he better not hurt my sister" type to the bride and grooms first dance as a married couple ;-;
Request by anon: If vixen and steve are getting married . Could vixen make her wedding dress inspired by 40s era and 1900s style hair updo . And we guess steve would be in his 40s military suit in the wedding lol both buck and sam are the best men morgan is the flower girl 🥲 hope its not much pressure
Summary: It's your wedding day, a day you never thought would come. You're marrying your best friend, the love of your life. After darkness clouded your entire life, you're finally seeing the sun.

Before you were taken, before you got your world turned upside down, you had a dream. You had a dream that one day you’d be wearing a beautiful white gown that closely resembles the one your mother wore (hers got destroyed in a house fire when you were young), standing in a room with all of your best friends who couldn't be happier for you, marrying the love of your life. You had that dream many times even after you got taken by Hydra. It’s what kept you from going insane in the beginning. When things got tough, you’d close your eyes and imagine your wedding day.
Never did you think it would finally come, and it finally did.
Instead of a room filled with a ton of your friends, it’s Natasha. She died giving herself up for the Soul Stone, but when you and Steve returned the stones, they gave her back in exchange for the stone. You didn’t think that was possible but it was, and you brought her home to everyone.
It’s sad that Tony never knew she made it.
You stand in front of the floor-length mirror and admire the dress you made yourself. You drew inspiration from your mother’s wedding dress. It’s been so long since you’ve seen it but you can recall every detail by memory. It’s not an exact replica but is very similar. Natasha walks up behind you and fixes the dress from the back. It has an open back that clips right behind your neck, and the entire bodice is a flowery lace material. The dress goes all the way down to your feet and is loose and airy, nothing like those puffy dresses people where nowadays.
“You look beautiful,” Natasha smiles.
“Thanks, Nat,” you whisper.
She is your Maid of Honor while Bucky is Steve’s best man. You only have one person because the wedding is so small. Clint offered his farm for you to use which is why it’s so small. The only people in attendance are your closest friends and family--mostly Avengers and their family. There are minimal decorations but it’s very elegant and intimate.
Someone knocks on the door and you two turn to see Sam walk in.
“It’s time.”
“I’ll see you out there.”
Natasha kisses your cheek and leaves the room. When you asked Sam to walk you down the aisle, you could have sworn you saw tears roll down. Your parents are long gone and you wanted the person giving you away to mean something to you. Sam is that person. You and Bcuky are close but by trauma, and Sam was the next best thing.
“Wow, you look beautiful.”
“Thank you, Sam.”
“Are you ready for the rest of your life?”
“Is Steve?” you joke. You put your veil on and smile. “I’m ready.”
Bucky and Natasha go out first followed by Morgan who is your flower girl. Pepper had no problem with letting her little girl be part of your wedding. Toy has been a big part of your life, so having her be the flower girl is like having a part of the wedding. There is a picture of him sitting next to Pepper to symbolize his presence along with everyone else who has died.
Then, you and Sam enter the main ceremony room, and everyone rises. Steve stands at the altar wearing his 40s military uniform that Bucky and Sam stole from one of the museums. It still fits him like a glove. The second he sees you, he immediately gets tears. He never thought he’d get to his day with you. He was positive that a mission would take him out.
Sam reaches the altar and kisses your cheek over the veil before taking a seat in the front. The ceremony doesn’t last very long and you get to your vows quicker than you thought. Both you and Steve have written your own vows, and he lets you go first.
“I don’t know where to start, honestly. Growing up, I had this idea of what I wanted my wedding day to look like. I had the dress picked out, who I wanted my bridesmaids to be, where I wanted the wedding, and what my first song was going to be. Then, I was taken and forced into something I didn’t want to do. I was broken down, beaten, and shaped into what Hydra wanted me to be. I didn’t know I could have the things I wanted. Soon, my mind wasn’t even my own.
“Then, I met you and it was like I could finally see. It’s like I’ve been in this tunnel all my life and seeing you brought me out of it and into the light. I got Hydra out of my head. I gained control of my life. I took back what they stole from me thanks to you. You saved me in more ways than one, and I can’t believe I get to stand up here and marry you.”
“I had a dream of my own. This was before the military where I wanted to marry a nice girl and make a family of my own. Like you, I was unable to. I had a duty to my country and gave it my all. The guy who went into the ice nearly a century ago had goals, and when I came out of it, those goals changed. I just needed to get through the day and face the next. I didn’t know I could have all this until I met you. You say I saved you when it’s you who saved me. I found myself wishing for the things I did in the 40s. Now I get to have them with you by my side. You’re a dream come true, Y/N.”
The rings you two have are simple ones but hold so much meaning. When you two kiss, everyone stands and cheers. The reception is in the same area as the ceremony but everyone makes room for your and Steve’s first dance as a married couple. It’s sensual. It’s intimate. It’s romantic. It’s everything you’ve ever wanted. Everyone else disappears since the only person who matters to you at that moment is Steve.
Afterwards, you go off to be with the girls and Steve goes off to be with his boys. Sam, Thor, and Clint toss back shots just as Bucky clasps a hand on his shoulder.
“Congratulations, man.”
“Thanks.”
“Do I have to have the hurt-her-and-I’ll-hurt-you talk?”
“No,” Steve chuckles.
“You know I’ll do it. I’ll kick your ass if you hurt her.”
“I know, and I’d let you.”
“She’d probably do the ass-kicking if we’re being honest,” Sam interjects with a smile.
“Yeah, she would,” Steve laughs.
One of the wedding games you planned is a game where you and Steve are sitting back-to-back with both shoes in hand. You have one of yours and one of his, and he has the other pair. Bucky has cards that he will read and you have to raise a shoe for the person you think is the most like the card.
“This is a great one to start with. Who wears the pants in the relationship?”
You immediately hold up your shoe while Steve holds up his own. Everyone laughs at the dynamic of your relationship, and Bucky moves on.
“Who is the best chef?” Both you and Steve hold up his shoes. “Who is needier when they’re sick?” Again, both of you hold up Steve’s shoes. “Who is the better driver?” This time, you two put up your shoes. You’ve had more practice. “I don’t know, Y/N, I’ve been in a car with you before.”
“You lived, didn’t you?” you grin at Bucky.
Nothing can ruin this moment. Hydra is gone from your head, Thanos is gone, and you can only go up from here.

It’s a few minutes past midnight and you’re curled up in the deepest corner of the couch with one of Marilou’s blankets tucked around you. You’d come straight to the farm after work tonight, you couldn’t stand the thought of being alone. It’s Marilou that takes care of you, that ushers you off into the shower, that lays out your sweats and one of Clinton’s jumpers, your comfort clothes whilst Nelson cooks dinner in the kitchen.
“She’s been like this all evening.” Clinton’s mother tells him in a hushed whisper when he steps through the door. “I can’t get a word out of her about it.”
“I know what it is.” Clinton tells her as he removes his jacket, hanging it on the back of a kitchen chair. “Thank you for taking care of her.”
You’re cradling a cup of decaf coffee to your chest when he steps into the living room, your gaze focused on something outside of the window. You’re quiet, withdrawn. He isn’t used to seeing this version of you, you’re usually a force of nature, so vibrant and full of life.
“I saw the letter on the kitchen table when I got home tonight.” He says quietly as he sits down on the couch alongside of you. “Do you want to talk about it?”
You swallow hard against the emotion in your chest. All that pain, all that anxiety, it simmers away inside of you, clawing at your nerve endings. You’ve been forcing it down all day, drowning yourself in your caseload. It’s only now as you sit here with Clinton that you feel it starting to overwhelm you because you can’t keep running anymore, you have to face it.
“It’s been seven years.” You say, your voice raw. “I thought I was past it but then I opened that letter, saw he was up for parole, that they wanted me to give a victim impact statement, and it took me right back to that night…”
He knows the one you’re talking about. You’d come home to find Ellis drinking again, it had turned into a fight. By the time your neighbour had called the police you had a broken arm and a concussion. You’d been in hospital for three days due to swelling in your brain.
You’d never thought you’d be with someone again after that, but then you met Clinton, a man so good and so kind that he restored your faith in other people. Not once has he raised his voice to you, and certainly never his hand. He’s was everything your ex-husband isn’t and you love him for it.
“Sienna.” Clint says softly, bringing you out of your reverie.
He takes your hand in his own, his thumb chasing over the silver wedding band that graces your finger. It’s an antique piece with delicate swirls etched into the metal. He has a matching one on his own finger.
“The thought of seeing him again…” You trail off because he already knows what you’re trying to say, you don’t have to vocalise it.
Clinton knows what trauma like that can do to a person, what it’s done to you. He’s soothed you through your nightmares, humming that lullaby, the one his mother used to sing to him when he’d had bad dreams as a child. He’s kissed the scars that mar your body, whispered sweet nothings against your skin, reminded you of how strong you are, how beautiful. You had fought so hard to put the pieces of yourself back together after had happened to you and he thanks every deity that he can think of that you survived that man.
“You have a choice.” He reminds you, cradling your face between his hands. “You don’t have to go there, make a statement…”
“We both know what’s likely to happen if I don’t.” You say quietly as his lips brush over your cheek, kissing away the tears.
Clinton doesn’t refute it. Seeing the victim, hearing their story, it holds a lot of sway with the parole board. It could be the difference between Ellis going free and him serving out the rest of his sentence. Right now it’s about which possibility terrifies you more, seeing him at his parole hearing or the thought of him being out on the street.
“Sienna.” He says lovingly, his thumb ghosting along the line of your jaw as he tips your chin up so he can look into your eyes. “If I could take this all away for you…”
Seeing you like this, it tears him apart but he’s here for you no matter what. He made a commitment to you two years ago, a promise and he meant every single word of it.
“I love you,” He whispers. “And I’ll support you, whatever you decide.”

Bucky and Clint and a corn maze for the autumn prompt please?
Loving all your stories and shares!
Bucky Barnes was brought up in Brooklyn, and as such had been woefully unprepared for the concept of corn mazes as some kinda competitive sport.
"Swear to God," Clint muttered, shoving his feet into unlaced boots at some ridiculous time in the morning, "if the Butchers win again this year I am going to shove my foot so far up that judge's ass -"
Bucky must've made a sound, or raised an eyebrow, or given off some kinda aura that questioned Clint in this, 'cos Clint whirled on him and pinned him with a crazy-eyed stare.
"Five years," he said, low and fervent. "Five goddamn years of the same Iowa Hawkeyes logo, stalk for goddamn stalk. I have done Steve's shield. I have done a damn circus. I have done the cataclysmic destruction of the Death Star that I had to finish with a scythe -"
"I don't understand that reference," Bucky said, deadpan, and Clint pointed a shaking finger at his chest, opened his mouth, then snapped it shut again and threw his hands in the air, slamming the screen door behind him.
Bucky couldn't help sniggering into his coffee.
It wasn't always so dramatic. Sure, the farm in general, where the pace of the days was generally pretty slow, peace rising up from the ground like the morning mist, but also the run-up to fall and the county fair. Most of it was quieter: Clint groaning happily as Bucky tried out another pie recipe on him, determined to perfect it this year; the daily measurement of a beast of a pumpkin, and Clint's cracked voice singing rock ballads to it every night before bed.
Somehow he'd got it in his head, though, that everything was riding on his corn maze this year. Somehow everything seemed to be hinging on getting it just right, and Clint had strung up a sheet over the back bedroom window so Bucky couldn't jinx it by seeing it too soon.
"Like seeing a bride before the wedding?" Bucky asked, unable to keep the laugh outta his voice, and Clint had twitched and headed hurriedly out to sing Sweet Child Of Mine.
"Hey," Bucky murmured from the porch swing one evening, catching Clint by the belt loops as he paced along the porch and pulling him closer, between his legs. "Hey, Clint, it's gonna be fine. You've got this."
Clint ran his hands through his hair, looking down at Bucky with a weird sort of vulnerability in his eyes.
"You think?"
"I know it," Bucky said, pulling him in closer still, wrapping his arms around Clint's lean hips and resting his cheek against a plaid shirt that still carried the warmth of the late summer sun. "You can do anything you set your mind to."
Clint's hand came up to cup the back of Bucky's head, his callused thumb catching a little as it swept across his hair.
"You know I love you, right?" Clint said, and Bucky couldn't help but smile with it, the way happiness filled him up like there'd always been a space ready for it.
"Sure," he said. "I know."
*
It was the week before the fair when Clint finally seemed to settle. Not completely relaxed, maybe; more like the pause at the top of the rollercoaster, where all the potential's somehow resolved itself into a final moment of calm.
He cornered Bucky in the kitchen, taking the coffee mug out of his metal hand and weaving their fingers together instead.
"It's ready," he said, on a long breath. "You wanna see?"
Bucky couldn't help laughing a little, but followed along gamely enough as Clint dragged him up the stairs, then climbed the precarious ladder into the loft before opening the little window that led out onto a just about perchable part of the roof. Bucky led the way out, bracing himself on the weathercock - which was a good thing, since it gave him something to grab when he finally got a look at the corn maze Clint'd been working on so long.
He'd been expecting the title card for Dog Cops, maybe. Or Iron Man in flight, like Clint'd been promising Tony for at least the last few years. He hadn't expected -
"What d'you think?" Clint asked, just by his ear, and Bucky let out a choked laugh, reaching back to grab Clint's hand.
Most of it was - it had to function as a real maze, if it was gonna win, and the complicated knotwork was gonna make it a bitch to run. Bucky's focus, though, was the center of it all, the way the corn had been cut away to ask the curling cursive question Bucky, marry me?
"Think it'll beat the Hawkeyes?" Clint asked, and Bucky turned to drag him down so he could press their foreheads together, so Clint could be close enough to hear him breathe out a fervent yes.

My brain really is always trying to connect Marvel to my other fandoms. But when you bring Gods, magic and the multiverse then anything becomes possible.
Fandoms: The Sentinel, Due South, Young Justice, Torchwood, Nimona, Warehouse 13, Lucifer, Stranger Things, 911 Lone Star, Hawaii 50, 911, Eureka
• Sentinel: Clint is sentinel whose strength is sight. But his abusive father still cost him a good chunk of hearing. Other events have left Clint completely deaf in one ear and partially in the other. In a world where ableism exists this makes it hard to find a guide. Until he meets Coulson/Natasha/Bobbi/Bucky/Darcy/Laura.
• Due South: Teenage Clint has been betrayed by Barney and Trickshot. The circus happened to be in Chicago at the time. Clint ends up homeless after being released/sneaking out from the hospital. He meets Diefenbaker on one of his adventures. This leads to Ray and Benton fostering Clint. Hawkeye still becomes an Avenger but he was SHIELDS best track in both urban and wilderness settings.
• DC: Young Justice Connor Kent tries to protect his team from an angry magic user. Instead of dying he is transported to the Barton farm a week before the snap. How would Clint's arc change if he had a superpowered teenager following him like a duckling.
• Torchwood: During Captain Jack's absence the rift gets odd again. Ianto and Toshiko get pulled in and spit back out in the sanctum sanctorum. Wong and Ianto bond over properly brewed hot drinks. Toshiko makes friends with a hacker online by the name of Skye.
• Nimona: What if Nimona brought a guest back with them in the form of a shape shifting Asgardian Loki. The God flirts heavily with Ballister to the annoyance of Ambrosius.
• Warehouse 13: Somehow Steve's shield becomes an artifact. Steve, Bucky and Sam take a trip to the warehouse in hopes of fixing it.
• Warehouse 13: During a new experiment to bring back her daughter HG Wells is sent to Tony Stark's lab while the man was explaining something to Peter Parker. To Clint's amusement HG flirts heavily with Natasha.
• Lucifer: Clint follows a suspect into Lux and stops her from taking a shot at Lucifer. When the cops arrive Clint has the awkward moment of seeing his ex-boyfriend, Detective Dan Espinoza.
• Stranger Things: Instead of exiting the upside down they end up in the sanctum. Much to Dr Stranger's annoyance but he does assist in helping them get back eventually. It takes effort because once the kids discover they are in a comic universe they want to explore.
• 911 Lone Star: When Steve was on his bike tour he met a Texas Ranger who he struck up a friendship with. Bucky, Steve and Sam were in town for the wedding incognito as "work friends". Because of this the gun shot wasn't fatal. Carlos doesn't know how to react to his Dad being friends with Avengers. And ones that weren't straight. I love a Jewish Bucky so he bonds with TK on several levels.
• Hawaii 50: Clint is taking a forced vacation in Hawaii. As luck would have it he's in a museum that Charlie's school was visiting when it was taken hostage. The bad guys are specifically looking for Charlie as revenge for something related to his stepdad. Clint stops them before the task force arrives. He quickly becomes family.
• 911: Bucky and Clint are trying a normal date at the Santa Monica Pier. They befriend a kid and the guy they assume is his stepdad. Then the Tsunami hits. Because of the extra trained adults Chris doesn't get lost. The school gets in hot water for calling Chris a liar for saying an Avenger saved him. The lawsuit goes down very differently, either because they get him a better lawyer who works with the union or offer Buck a job with Avengers HQ in New York.
• Eureka: Clint drops in on an old friend, Sheriff Jack Carter. Given all the shenanigans he's used to the town barely phases Clint. However Nathan Stark is not happy to have a member of his cousin's boyband hanging around Jack. His headache increases when several assassins, Bucky and Natasha, arrive to bug Clint.

The Storm - Chapter 5, Finding Jade
Summary: The group stops off to pick up some horses, deciding to buy them when they realize the outfitters are running a slaughterhouse. On their return to the Bunker they discuss the attempt to take Jade. Ma realizes that someone is behind the attempt. Bucky and Jade consummate their relationship while a storm rages outside. She shares a telepathic connection during their lovemaking that exposes their memories to each other.
Length: 3.8K
Characters: Bucky Barnes, Jade, Ma, Steve, Clint
Warnings: 18+ only, contains sexual content (incl. foreplay, p in v), shared emotional trauma, evidence of animal abuse and suffering.
Author’s notes: Conversations that are done telepathically are in italics. Bucky agreeing to Jade entering his mind and experiencing his memories indicates a level of trust he never experienced with anyone else but he still has limits as he begs her not to relive his time with HYDRA. That will have consequences in later chapters.
<<Chapter 4
⛈️
Halfway to the Bunker they turned into a gravel road that reduced their speed considerably. Bucky had to drop back a bit because the dust generated by Steve's car made it almost impossible to see where he was driving. Clint was navigating for Steve based on the directions the outfitter had given them. They wondered how he managed to keep his business going in these times considering he would need access to grasslands and water. Then they came over the final rise and realized how he kept in business. He wasn't just an outfitter but a slaughter house. Hundreds of broken down horses were being kept in pens, waiting to be slaughtered for their meat.
"I didn't know," said Clint, spitting out the window before he rolled it up in an attempt to keep out the smell. "Bastards."
"We still need the horses," said Steve. "Think he would sell them to us?"
"He would want more," said Clint. "Do we have anything left to barter?"
He pressed his comms and asked if anyone had anything left to barter. Bucky said he had a box of penicillin and a vial of broad spectrum antibiotics. Peter said he had some loose electronics parts. Jade looked at her hands and saw it. Pulling her wedding ring off she held it up.
"18 k gold wedding band," she said. "Has to be worth something."
They pulled up to the house and Steve, Clint and Bucky approached the outfitter. Clint insisted on checking out the horses first, running his hands down their legs and over their backs, then checking inside their mouths. He was happy with two of them but said the third one wasn't healthy.
"How does Clint know about horses?" asked Jade.
"He's a farmer," said Peter. "Has a farm in Iowa. His wife and kids are there. He'll be going back to them for a while after this next mission."
Jade focussed her attention on the bartering. She was tempted to listen in mentally but resisted knowing it was more important that they trusted her. Finally they appeared to have struck a bargain. Bucky came to her side of the car and asked for the ring. He caressed the side of her face when he took it and gave her a soft smile. Then he went to the cooler and took out two vials of penicillin from the box. Clint was leading the horses into a horse trailer which they would return on their next provisions run. He guided Bucky to the jack part and he backed into position while Clint hooked it up. He came around to the window.
"We bought the horses but the saddles and trailer are loaners," he said. "Thanks for giving up your wedding ring, it made the difference. Gold always does."
On the drive back Bucky explained that Clint already had a place in mind to keep the horses and would work on some things to barter for saddles before he went home. Jade said she knew how to forage in the badlands and could find all sorts of things good to barter.
"Like what?" asked Bucky.
"Precious stones," she said. "Opal, turquoise, jasper, quartz. You just have to recognize the signs of where a vein comes up to the surface. There's lots of geodes as well. None of them are particularly useful but they're pretty and perhaps someone wants something pretty. Ma taught me. It's how she supported herself before the Others."
"Look who has hidden skills," said Bucky, smiling, and taking her hand.
Although the rain threatened it hadn't come down but once the two vehicles arrived everyone rushed to get everything inside as soon as possible. The weather station on the roof gave every indication of a storm brewing and no one wanted to be caught out in it. Clint led the three horses to the garage area and tied them up while he removed their saddles. They had bartered for some feed and he fed them and watered them. Jade approached him.
"I haven't seen a horse since I was little," she said. "Can I pet them?"
"Sure," he said. "Stroke the side of their neck or scratch them behind their ear. Stay away from the nose area as that's very sensitive. If they want you to touch it they'll tell you. If they back away let them go."
Tentatively she reached out and stroked the first one on the side of its neck. It stepped forward into her and she put more pressure on her touch. It gently breathed on her shoulder and Clint smiled, nodding encouragement. Lightly she touched its mind and felt its acceptance of her presence. There were flashes of what it had experienced previously.
"You're okay," she whispered. "Clint will look after you."
She backed away and turned so Clint wouldn't see her cry. He was perceptive and stood near her.
"Hey," he said, touching her arm. "They've had a tough life but they're free of it now. I'll look after them and I'll teach you to ride and look after them while I'm gone. They'll be alright."
She nodded and left him to finish settling the horses down for the night.
Let's see colors that have never been seen
Let's go to places no one else has been
        Electrical Storm by U2
In the common room Bruce and Ma had been busy, making food for everyone and it was all laid out for them to help themselves. Bucky was sitting on the couch with a huge sandwich and a bottle of beer. Jade grabbed half a sandwich and a coffee and sat next to Bucky. The mood was good as the run had gone well with no hiccups except for the encounter with the two traffickers.
"I would have liked to have seen that," said Bruce. "They are truly vermin. I wonder why the sheriff lets them conduct business."
"He's likely getting a kickback," said Steve. "Bucky put them in their place. Next time, though, we better be prepared for a bigger show of force. Everyone knows Bucky isn't to be trifled with. I'm surprised they even tried."
"They know what she is," said Ma, out of the blue. "Someone in that town sensed her and probably wanted to test her. Did you not sense anything?"
"No, not at all," said Jade, worried now. "Could they have shielded themselves from me?"
"Probably," said her mother. "I think we need to look at strengthening your abilities. Wanda, do you think you can help?"
"I think it's a good idea," she replied. "I sensed something but they blocked me as well."
"Much as I want to discuss this further Jade and I are tired," said Bucky, taking her by the hand. "We're going to bed. Don't bother us."
Everyone smiled at the announcement knowing exactly what he had in mind. Halfway down the hallway he stopped and pushed Jade against the wall, kissing her hard, pressing himself into her. Then he picked her up in his arms. She entered the code into their suite and he put her down inside, kissing her as he started to undress her.
"Wait," she said. "Where's Ben? He wasn't in the common room."
Almost immediately she received a thought message from her mother that Ben would be staying with her tonight. Turning back to Bucky she pushed him towards the bedroom tugging on his clothes. By the time they got to the bed both were naked. Both explored the other's body with their mouths, tongues and hands in a flurry that caught them both up. When they stopped and became tender with each other Jade took a condom out of the box and rolled it onto Bucky. He pushed her down and guided himself into her slowly, knowing she would be very tight and firm. He buried his face in her neck as she caressed his head and shoulders then began thrusting into her with a slow but steady rhythm. They heard the sound of thunder outside.
"Here comes the storm," he whispered, as he kissed her.
"The storm inside or outside?" she whispered back as she encircled him with her arms.
A flash of lightning lit up the inside of the room briefly even through the narrow slits of windows. It was followed by a big boom of thunder and Jade felt the electricity hanging in the air with her senses. Bucky shifted and pulled one of her arms away from him, stretching it out alongside her head. He ran his hand up the side of her body, brushing against her breast then up her arm before holding it in place above her head. Leaning over her he mouthed her breast, sucking on the nipple and pulling it up with his lips. Then he pulled her other hand away and ran his other hand up the side of her body until he was holding both of her hands above her head with his artificial hand. With his free hand he grasped her chin and brought his face down to hers.
"Do you know my name?" he said in a low but demanding voice. "My real name?"
"James," she whispered. "Your name is James."
"I only want to hear it from your lips," he ordered. "Say it, say my name."
"James, my James," she whispered as she felt a rush begin in her.
"You're mine," he said, jamming himself hard into her, "and I'm yours. My Jade."
A flash of lightning followed by an instantaneous crack of thunder occurred as she called out at her release. He let go of her hands and continued his drive into her before finally reaching his climax, coming with a loud groan that filled her ear with its force. She caressed his head and back as he laid on her with his full weight before lifting himself out and laying at her side. He pulled her hand to his lips and kissed it.
"Jade," he said softly. "I'm sorry, I tried to be gentle."
She rolled onto her side and laid her head on his chest. "It was good," she said quietly. "It's been so long."
The thunderstorm raged around the Bunker as they cuddled together under the sheets. Every flash of lightning brought her closer to him as he held her tighter during each clap of thunder. Finally they could hear the drumming sound of a hard rain, hitting the roof and running down the piping that took it to an underground cistern. He sat up, holding the condom in place while he went to the bathroom. He stopped at the intercom and pressed the code for Steve.
"Do we need to be on alert for the Others in this rain?" he asked.
"It's the safe thing to do," replied Steve. "I didn't want to interrupt you. We can handle it."
"Like hell you can," said Bucky. "I'm here if you need me."
"Are we in more danger during the rain, even here?" asked Jade as she held up the sheets for him to get back in.
"Yes, especially now they have the exo-suit," said Bucky. "Are you ready for more?"
She smiled and climbed on top, straddling him at his hips. "Are you ready for a connection?"
"As you kids say, bring it on," he said, caressing her arms and thighs.
She took a deep breath and entered his mind. She saw everything in his past, good and bad. She saw him in childhood playing, laughing, making friends with Steve. Then she felt his fear during the war. He interrupted and asked if all of this was necessary. She assured him it was so there was no secrets to come out of the shadows during their times in each other's mind. To comfort him she showed her life, growing up in a commune with a mother and father.
"Why is your mother's face hidden?" he asked.
"I only have memories of her presence, not her face, or voice," said Jade. "Just experience my life."
Then she shared the day she was cast out to die in the Badlands. He felt her loneliness and fear, touching her as she relieved this traumatic part of her childhood. A beacon of light appeared, Ma, finding her, crying over her, then caring for her. Comforted by her sharing Bucky agreed to the next part of his life. She was with him as he fell from the train, the look of horror on Steve's face getting further and further away.
"No, I don't want you to see this next part," he pleaded. "It hurts, it hurts so much. Please don't make me relive it."
"I'm going to store it for later," she said. "You were hurt so badly, my love. But it's done and now you're here with me, in a bed, and I'm in your arms. We're safe as long as we're together."
Feeling his acceptance she skipped forward to when Steve found him again and helped him reintegrate into society. Saw the friendship with Sam which surprised her because they didn't seem to be friends now.
"What happened between Sam and you?" she asked. "Why aren't you friends now?"
"I broke the code," said Bucky. "I fell in love with his sister and he wouldn't accept it. Then I broke her heart to please him but it just made him angrier. We haven't been friendly since. I ... I miss him so much."
"Is that partly why you went back to get Steve?" asked Jade. "He was friends with both of you. You hoped he could mediate the chasm between you."
"Then Peggy died," said Bucky. "I told you, I'm poison to those who love me."
She felt his grief at losing his friend, Sam, and then losing Peggy, grief he still suffered from. Then she saw Lily, his wife. The baby was premature and shortly after birth his wife suffered a seizure, eclampsia. Without the high tech environment of a hospital she had no chance, dying in his arms as his son did hours later.
"I wanted to die that day," he said, "but instead I suffered."
"James, let it wash over you," soothed Jade. "She loved you so much she moved on so you could love me. It's okay, my love. Remember her and Jimmy. They'll be in your heart forever."
Gently she stroked his chest and shoulders, massaging the tightness out of the muscles she was touching. She stroked his head and face.
"That feels good," he said. "I feel it up in my spine and into my brain."
She showed him when she met her husband, an outdoorsman, when they were hiking in the same area of the Badlands. He had been taken by her strange but compelling looks and visited regularly. They married and lived near where Ma lived. On the day Ben was born he was with her, in their home, as the midwife delivered their son. It was beautiful and Bucky found himself wishing he had been Ben's father.
"You are his father," said Jade. "I showed you to him that first week before we rescued them. He loved you already and he sees that you are a good man. He's learning so much from everyone and would like to learn from you. Show him how to work with wood. He likes to use his hands. Ask him about The Hobbit. He brought his copy with him so you two could discuss it."
"I didn't know," said Bucky. "I will spend more time with him."
Bucky felt her grief when Seth disappeared after the Snap. When he didn't return Ma realized something else had happened to him.
"I hid this from Ma," said Jade. "But I found him shortly after the Snap. He had fallen down an embankment, broken his leg. No cell phone coverage. He died there Bucky, alone, in the wilderness he had loved so much. I buried him myself with rocks. I never wanted anyone else until I found you."
She leaned over to kiss him and gently touched his tongue with hers. His hands came to either side of her face as he felt her kiss from her perspective.
"Is that how I feel when you kiss me?" he said softly. "It's incredible, feeling it from both of us."
"Touch me Bucky," she said. "Feel what your hands do to me."
"Oh! Jade, I never thought ..." he stopped, at a loss for words.
"No more talking," she said, "just feeling and doing what is natural."
For the next hour Jade slowly helped him through lovemaking with a psychic connection. Even the act of rolling on the condom gave pleasure to both of them. As they felt the moment of penetration from both sides both of them were lost in the sensations for a while until Jade pulled back just a little. Their shared orgasm was something earth shattering to Bucky. He had always been a good lover but this opened his eyes to how much more he could do to please Jade. When they were finished she had slowly withdrawn the connection until it was just them laying in each other's arms.
"I can see why that takes so much out of you," he said, playing with her fine hair.
"It's physical and mental," she replied. "It's also addictive as it hits the pleasure centre of the brain pretty hard. We can't do it for a long time or else we'll begin to crave it."
"Alright," he agreed. "I won't ask. You decide when we do it again. Thank you for showing me your life. Thank God, Ma was there for you."
"Bucky I have to sleep now," she whispered. "Will you just talk to me? Tell me a story."
He held her and stroked her hair while he told her about his time in Wakanda, working as a farmer, living in a hut. Just like in the medical room she fell asleep quickly but he kept talking, more for himself. He wondered how the Wakandans were handling the Others. They had lost contact with them and with New York. Losing Fury and Rhodes had really hurt them as well. Plus no contact with the Guardians and Thor, making him wonder if the Others had attacked other planets as well. Jade stirred and pressed her head into his chest. He kissed her hair, her almost white fine hair.
"I love you, Jade," he whispered.
There was no alert after the rain storm but the next morning they went outside to see if anything had been affected. Part of the road they used to get to the highway was washed out. Steve, Bucky and Clint surveyed the damage.
"Looks like a lot of manual labour for you and me," said Steve to Bucky. "We'll have to build up the section that washed out with boulders then tamp down the smaller material on top. Perfect timing."
Steve directed Clint to begin the riding lessons, for anyone who was interested, while he and Bucky started hauling boulders to build up the road. It was hot work for the two men and they soon had to take their shirts off. Jade, Maria and Wanda came out to survey the damage. At least, that's what they told everyone in the bunker. At one point Maria said something in a low voice and all three of them started laughing. Steve was clueless to why they were laughing but Bucky knew exactly why they were there. He stopped to take a water break and poured some water over his face, shaking his head and running his hands over his hair. Then he looked directly at Jade and thought at her.
"You ladies enjoying the show?"
"Very much," she replied. "You should go shirtless more often."
"Yeah, Bucky," said Wanda. "Both of you are showing more than enough skin for us."
He shook his head and started laughing. Jade asked the two women if they wanted to look for gemstones in the washed out area. They both shrugged and Jade asked Bucky to lift them down to the where the water had flowed downstream. She described to them what to look for and immediately found a chunk of opal, then a big rock with turquoise bits showing. The other two got into it and within half an hour Wanda had to conjure a box for them to carry their findings. They brought them back to where Steve and Bucky were working. Both men were clearly impressed.
"Do you think you can polish those up to barter?" asked Steve. "I would think they would be worth quite a bit."
"If you have a Dremel tool, some sandpaper and some mineral oil, plus some work gloves and protective eyewear, yeah, I can do it," said Jade. "It takes a while. Ma used to do it all the time."
"There's a Dremel and sandpaper in the workshop," said Bucky. "I would have to look for mineral oil."
"Bruce might have some in the medical lab," said Maria. "I'd like to give it a try. Keep a couple for decorations in our room. You said there might be geodes around as well. What do they look like?"
"They're roundish but lumpy and they feel light," said Jade. "If you shake it you can hear the loose crystals inside. The amethyst ones are worth money. The quartz ones are more pretty than anything."
The women went upstream from the washout and like before came back with a box of stones and about half a dozen geodes. All three were animated about finding so much that could be transformed into barter material. Bucky watched them as they walked back to the Bunker with their boxes. He was glad that Jade had a skill that would benefit them. There was so much about her that even he didn't know, despite the mind connection they had shared. A shadow crossed his face and he looked up from where he was standing in the washed out area. Sam was there.
"Wondered if you needed any help," he said to Bucky. "I've helped rebuild some washed out roads in Louisiana."
"Sure," said Bucky. "Come on down. Maybe the ladies will come back and ogle our sweaty bodies again."
"Yeah, I heard," he said. "They were talking about it in the workshop while I was trying to build those IEDs. It was embarrassing listening to them talk about you two like that. I wanted to be in on the action."
Bucky laughed outright and gave Sam a fist bump. His presence did help and his experiences in Louisiana helped them build the section better. By sundown they had rebuilt one side of it, enough that they could drive out if they had to. If all three worked on it the next day, and maybe roped in Peter and Scott it could be done well before the end of the day.

Rescuing Roses
For @schittscreekdrabbleblog
Word bargain and bonus word blanket
~~~~
Mr. Rose retreated into his room after the awkward yet sincere conversation, leaving Patrick to watch the game alone.
David’s soft blanket and high thread count sheets were inviting. After his team won, Patrick settled in for a nap before his fiancé returned.
“Patrick. Herb called me. We have to go get David and his mom,” Mr. Rose announced, bursting into the room.
“What? Why?” Patrick inquired.
“I’m not sure, but I think you’re about to find what you bargained for when you asked David to marry you.”
Patrick slipped on his shoes and grabbed his keys. He already knew.
Schmoopy
@schittscreekdrabbleblog word echo and bonus word cozy.
Do you want to know what happens when I am in a zoom waiting room all by myself? This...
*****
“Do you guys use nicknames?” Stevie asked from her cozy, movie-watching perch on the couch in the cottage.
“What?” David asked.
“Nicknames. Do you and Patrick have them? You know. Like shmoopy or bunny or something cutesy,” Stevie inquired.
Fuck, baby. Your mouth! Patrick’s words from this morning echoed in David’s head. Followed by, Sweetheart, I love you.
“Um, no. We aren’t that couple,” David lied. “Besides, that would be private.”
“Because I haven’t walked in on your private moments before?”
David glared at her and returned to the movie.
“Hi honey! I’m home,” Patrick bellowed, walking in the door.
Now on AO3!
Like Reflections of Your Mind
For @schittscreekdrabbleblog word: wedding
******
After the customers left, David walked to the front of the store. He heard Patrick’s voice in the backroom talking to a prospective vendor. David held his left hand to the window and admired the reflection of the amber hues of the midday sun off the golden shine of his wedding ring. The beauty was in its simplicity. A thin band that held memories and promises. In David’s mind, it played a film of their wedding day.
A strong arm snaked around him. Without a word, another ringed hand joined him.
“Do you see our future?” Patrick asked.
David nodded.
Marcy's Boys
For the @schittscreekdrabbleblog word: Snuggle
It's like this word was for me! I will have more this week.
*****
Marcy put the final touches on dinner before going to gather everyone. Her boys were visiting! No holiday, no birthday, no reason. Just because.
She marveled at the sight in her living room. Patrick lay with his head on one of the arms of the large fluffy couch with David on him, snuggling together, asleep. Clint was on his recliner adjacent to them, his book precariously resting on his chest, also asleep. The glow from the fireplace lit their relaxed faces.
Before arousing them, she snapped a picture of the scene with her phone. And made it her Lock Screen.
On AO3
Feint
For @schittscreekdrabbleblog word: Convenience
Bonus word: eerie
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“There has to be another solution, Ray!”
“Your NHL contract has a morality clause. They will say you violated it.”
“Can’t we cry discrimination? I was in a gay club.”
“No. You were photographed with your pants around your ankles!”
The room fell into an eerie silence.
“Is a marriage of convenience the only option?” Patrick whispered. Ray nodded.
“Fine. Who?”
“David Rose,” Ray answered.
“The fashion blogger?”
“As your agent, I advise this is your best option.”
Patrick paused. Finally, he said, “Make the deal.”

When the door to apartment B13 opened, Patrick was certain he fell in love.

From your WIPs, please tell me about the one with such an intriguing title: Climbing Vines on Melancholy Walls
(and if that one doesn't involve My Beloved Stephen, please throw in a title that does as well😉)
I'll start with the Stephen one, just for you-- it's the one titled 'Dreamcatcher,' and it's only a concept, nothing is written for it yet. The idea is based on the dream worldbuilding from DS2, the idea that when you dream you are actually seeing an alternate universe, not random made-up stuff in your own head.
The OC in that story can lucid dream-- direct her dreams to see what she wants to see. Stephen finds out about it, and he wants to know if she's 'universe-surfing' or actually able to influence what she's seeing, as in, can she alter a universe just by dreaming? I loved the idea that the OC and Stephen can have an odd sort of shared experience in reliving things, and I envisioned some sort of final conflict where they needed to save someone and there was a question of whether or not he would still be around when she woke back up.
I don't know if I'll pick that one up, though-- I love the idea, but I don't have a solid theming framework for it like I usually like to, before I start something.
Tumblr media
Climbing Vines on Melancholy Walls is a Steve/Natasha angst story set during Endgame. I liked the idea that they both cherished a fondness, maybe even love for each other, but never said anything. Then, as everything fell to hell around them, they agree to a friends with benefits situation, neither realizing that the other is just as dizzy in love as they are.
I intend to address Vormir in this story, and went through a really dark place (was frighteningly close to being gone) during 2022, so I put it on hiatus until I can tackle those scenes with a clear mind.
However, I'm intensely proud of the story. It is as much a 'how did Nat never find Clint in all those intervening years' story as it is a romance between her and Steve. My answer? She found him multiple times. He kept asking her to let him go and look again. The story starts with Nat visiting the farm and finding that Clint gathered up all the dirt he could to preserve it in case he needed the dust of his family to bring them back. Each time Clint sends her away, she dutifully tracks him down again. That's how she could find him when it mattered. She knew where he was. She was just holding off, like he asked her to.
As present in the story as angst is, there's a lot of sweetness and humor, too. They're teammates, they're real with each other, and at some point they're going to realize that it's okay to be loved back.
Tumblr media
They agree to be friends with benefits at Tony and Pepper's wedding, but afterwards, both of them are too shy to broach the subject again. Things get tense, and Natasha decides to tease Steve about what he's doing instead of coming and knocking on her door at the Avengers Compound. Here's the playful, sexy chunk of story when they make the momentous decision to do it again.
Tumblr media
“Running off some aggression, there, Rogers?” Nat asks him, when he sits down with his food.
Steve scratches his neck, looking bashful. “Yeah, a little. My body’s been moving faster than my mind. Trying to wear it out, I guess.”
“Running seems like the least fun way to do that, if you ask me,” she remarks, offering him a challenging smile.
“Well! Not sure I wanted to move faster than you are, either, truth be told,” he says after looking at her speculatively for a while.
“Steve, we’re alone here. The point was to be comforting, to blow off steam, to make the shitty parts of existence better, wasn’t it?” Privately, Natasha’s flooded with unexpected affirmation. If she’s reading him right, Steve’s basically telling her that he wants her, but thinks he doesn’t have the right to come right out and ask. There’s no way she would have ever predicted that, but she’s not complaining.
“Those are very good points,” Steve says carefully.
“So knock on my door sometimes, god,” she teases. “It’s going to be a slow few weeks, I could go make you an engraved invitation, if that would make things easier.” Nat looks down at her plate after catching the keen interest in his eyes. She doesn’t want him to be able to correctly recognize the desperate adoration that’s probably blazing in hers.
“Thank you, I will,” he tells her. His four words are resonant, grateful, and obviously sexually charged. Natasha’s drinking when he says it, and her sip of fruit juice goes down the wrong way.
“Turn around, this is not sexy!” she flaps her hands at him as she chokes the words out. Natasha alternately coughs and wipes her eyes, adding, “And don’t you dare take it back or I’ll never forgive you!”
“That’s exactly what I’m worried about,” he mutters, but he turns his head and uses his hand to block his view of her while she’s in the last throes of persuading her body she’s not actually in danger of drowning.
Nat doesn’t know whether she wants to address that quietly expressed concern of his now or once she can immediately follow up with something more physically resonant. She decides to choose the latter option; Steve has every right to worry that embarking on a career (whether long or short) of sexual exploits together might cause some trouble between them. Since her very real former career had involved no small number of encounters between herself and people who had trusted her only to find that she was there to do them harm, she recognizes the validity of that worry. The best way to reassure him is to be consistently generous and willing, and she’s happy to be both.
Both of them fall silent. Natasha’s fork feels wooden in her hand, the food bland and unnecessary. Part of the problem is that she’d been building up her anticipation about time with Steve, intimate time with Steve, while at the same time working on her defenses to prevent him recognizing her feelings. Nat’s been basically feeding herself a diet of calming, bland mental food, and now that dietary restriction has been lifted.
“Not hungry?” he asks her, lifting his eyebrows. It had been his turn to cook.
“Not for-- not really,” she amends, but the damage has been done.
Steve sets his fork down and looks at her, really looks. Natasha’s suddenly aware that she’s been dressing and grooming herself at the facility like it’s a reconnaissance mission, with comfortable clothes, minimal makeup. Not like she is on display, not like she has someone to impress. Sure, her outfits are tight-fitting and attractive, and sure, she knows how to make a lot out of a small amount of cosmetics, but it hasn’t been in service of anything. Still, Steve’s gaze is approving, just on the edge of captivated. For his part, he’s been sweaty and exhausted nearly every time she’s seen him lately, and that’s just been fuel for a mental image she has genuine, participatory memories she can flesh it out with.
With an expression that’s determined but otherwise neutral, Steve stands up and gathers his half-empty plate. He walks around the table and reaches out a hand. Bemused, Natasha hands him her own mostly full plate and watches him walk them into the kitchen. She hears Steve scrape the remaining food into the disposal, running the water to help grind it down and presumably rinse the plates off. The sound of the dishwasher door opening is recognizable.
She has no idea what he’s planning to do, and given her particular skill set, that fact is equal parts worrisome and novel.
Steve walks back into the dining room, coming straight over to the opposite end of the table, the one that’s closer to the exit. He leans over, resting one palm flat on the table’s surface, looking her straight in the eyes. He’s focused, with the same demeanor he uses when he’s about to lead them all into battle.
Then he stretches his fisted other hand out and knocks on the table, with the same cadence he always uses to request entry.
“Yes,” she says, her breath caught in her throat for a second, more pleasant time that day.
“Where?” he asks. It’s-- it’s still his command voice, and she never ever would have guessed he’d do this, blur the lines like this, and it’s the worst and best idea ever.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for asking! I really did hold off on writing Stephen in favor of writing oh my god like 500k words of Tony Stark fic, so you've caught me at the very start of my Stephen journey! It's a blessing and a curse ;)

AJDHDJEJWJWJ so ummmmm idk if you’ve ever SEEN the american reality show Married at First Sight but it’s basically exactly how it sounds, a bunch of single people meet with a group of match makers that includes like a therapist and a pastor and a love expert or smth and then they’re paired up in sponsored weddings where they don’t meet their future spouse until they’re literally at the alter.
anyways my mom got super into reality tv during 2018-2020 and i had to watch a TON of it so i got into the habit of plotting aus. essentially steve and bucky sign up for it but steve gets a nasty shock when his husband to be ends up being the cute boy he met on a school trip to europe then lost all contact with after they went back to their respective homes.
steve’s like ummmm pretty sure i have to back out now even though this is the fucking chance of a lifetime bc this is against the shows rules wait why isn’t bucky saying anything ??? SURPRISE. bucky got amnesia in an accident after high school and now anyone mentioning his life pre-accident makes him extremely upset!!!!! plus he has no memory of meeting steve and never told his family about him so everyone thinks he’s a real stranger! oh no…. what is steve to do???
(steve also looks extremely different (think catfa to infinity war) so he’s not even really recognizable in old photos)
snippet: "You were best friends during the self proclaimed best summer of your life and you never even sent the guy an email?" Sam deadpans.
"Or a friend request? Yeesh." Clint supplies.
"This was pre social media!” Steve protests. “There was no Facebook. There was not even a THE Facebook!"
moving on to 2nwstwof (hahdjejajskdkdkdjsj) this is the midwestern steve au im p sure i have explained in an ask to @kleenexwoman BUT essentially it’s an au where everything is the same except sarah and joseph rogers settle in Kansas instead of brooklyn after arriving from ireland so steve grows up a little farm boy and he and bucky survive the dustbowl instead of the big city depression, they end up in california, and also bucky and rebecca are half lenape
here’s one of the only passages i ever wrote for it:
"Christ."
It was something they always said, the both of them. They'd picked it up from Sarah herself: Jesus Christ, Mary, and Joseph! Steven you get down from that roof!
And yet, "James Buchanan Barnes, don't ye dare to take the lord's name in vain!"
She was always admonishing him like that, even when she knew it was rare his family went to Church. Sometimes, when she said it, it felt like she meant it. And visions of Sarah would come to Bucky's mind, in the creaky frame of the church, knees to the dusty floor, back arched over a pews. Tears in her eyes as she whispered to Her. Murmured softly, gently. Paper things, lace wing things, secret things, soft as a winter cloud pulled thin like cotton across the sky. Lady things. Sarah Rogers and Her Lady Grace. Or Mary. Somebody.
Other times, she'd just sound tired, no different from yelling at the two of them for any of their other antics: letting Maggie the barn owl roost in George's study when she'd busted a wing, nibbling the crusts off the pie Mrs. O'Calahan left on the sill to cool one Sunday in town, trying to paint faces on the spots of an old heifer with the oil set ordered for Steve out of the Sears catalogue and shipped over by the railcars they were forbidden from ever trying to hop on the back of (after that unfortunate first incident).
Tired like if there was anything to set fear into their bellies or their mortal hearts, it wasn't gonna be no Jesus Christ. Exhaustion that always felt a little bit empty. Ghosts hustling in the nooks and crannies of his hallways. Eyes against the glass in the dark. Snatches of stories running ragged through his dreams, swimming in a sea of covers, floating in a giant iron bed. Empty. Absent, the feeling that something was missing. Missing from you.
She’d meet his big, brown eyes over Steve's head, bent over news scraps and a stick of charcoal. And hers were always small, and soft, and seaglass blue.
Yes. They'd say to one another without words. Yes, you know. They stole from you too. They stole it from you too.
To him, Jesus Christ wasn't a ghost. Or a god. Or probably, even a person. Christ. A mutter, a giggle, an exhalation. A Nothing word. It was a cuss, just like any other cuss. It was a name he couldn't pronounce because he didn't care to, jargon he let fall from his tongue like scuffed pebbles into pools of stale rainwater.

clintasha secret
A/N I OWN NOTHING ALL CHARACTERS GO TO MARVEL, DON'T READ IF HOMOPHOBIC
it was December 22nd 2015
tony rolled out of bed that morning only to hear laughter, it was a child's laugh several actually "what the hell are children doing in the tower?" he asked pepper who was standing in the door way "we aren't in the tower we are at clint's farm remember with his sister and her children" "oh" he said getting up "yah" said pepper nodding.
meanwhile natasha was helping Anastasia, Ana for short in the kitchen. natasha said "you were born three weeks before your father and i married, how do i remember this, because i woke up on my wedding day to you giggling with your father, and the date of course" little did she know that jane was in the door way, eavesdropping, the only reason was because she felt natasha was being way to familiar with the house.
FLASHBACK
jane looked around the house in awe, when a women came through "hey said clint "sorry i didn't call ahead" "no it's ok" "ladies, gents this is my twin sister laura, she stays on the farm to keep it running" "hi i know all of your names" she said shyly, natasha stood up when they all heard feet running down "uncle clint" said the first one "Anastasia, you've grown" he said hugging her "did you bring auntie nat" she asked "why don't you hug her and find out" said natasha, Anastasia was no more than 13 "i heard auntie nat uncle clint's voices" said a boy "yes you did cooper" laughed natasha and hugged the boy and made eye contact with clint, Anastasia is the only child of clint and natasha and cooper is the only child of laura and her ex-husband, who abused laura and her son so laura has custody of cooper. natasha left and she came back smiling "you re-did the kitchen" "yeah about a year ago now" said clint "it's been that long" said natasha like a child surprised "well i am going upstairs" announced natasha with out even asking, everyone shot clint a look and then tony spoke "the children called you "uncle clint" which i understand because you are their uncle but they also called natasha "auntie nat" why?" "nat is a close family friend" said laura.
END FLASHBACK
pepper spotted jane and tapped her shoulder, she jumped "shh" said jane and took pepper to the room they shared, tony was sharing a room with his husband steve, tony and pepper divorced, after figuring out that tony loved steve and pepper was lesbian and married to jane, thor and bruce were engaged "why are you eavesdropping?" asked pepper "you can't tell anyone, i recorded it" she pressed play on the video "you were born three weeks before your father and i married, how do i remember this, because i woke up on my wedding day to you giggling with your father, and the date of course" see they are so married" said jane, pepper sighed "i can't believe you would stoop that low, your worse than tony" pinching the bridge of her nose "sorry i just thought that she was being over familiar with the house" said jane, pepper nodded and kissed her forehead "dinner" called natasha, "come on" said pepper taking jane's hand, natasha sat down pride of place next to clint, pepper and jane sat next to each other, laura was on the other side of clint, they were talking, pepper and jane looked at each other, clint was holding natasha's hand, she was nervous and was shaking her hand around and clicking her fingers, clint didn't know why she was nervous and he knew not push it, "are you okay natasha?" asked steve, "mmmmm" said natasha staring into space "nat" said clint snapping her out of it, she stood up and ran to the closet thing she could throw up in, aka the kitchen sink, jane was suspicious of Ana being clint and natasha's daughter because of her light red hair and grey-blue eyes, so that is the other reason she was eavesdropping. "sorry laura" she said, laura just smiled, really weirdly, she took natasha's hand and pulled her upstairs, "we both know these symptoms" said laura "oh i know, how much longer can clint and i keep this relationship secret?" "i don't know" laura grabbed her hand bag, car keys and natasha's hand "where are we going?" said natasha, everyone else poked their heads through the door way "nat has a point where are you going?" asked clint "out" "at 18:00 really?" "yep" in the car natasha and laura were talking, laura called her local doctor "yes hello, can i have an ultrasound appointment?" "ETA 2 minutes" "good, thanks"
THE HOSPITAL
"laura, why are we here?" asked natasha sitting, trying her best not to be recognised, "laura, bring your friend" said the doctor before laura could answer "so who am i seeing?" she asked "doctor Karen, my sister-in-law might be pregnant" said laura "can i see your face?" she asked kindly "you cannot tell anyone who i am" said natasha "very well" she said, natasha removed the hood from her head, to reveal herself "the black widow from the avengers is your sister in law?" the elderly doctor said "yes i am" natasha had an ultrasound "your three months pregnant with twins" she said, natasha was surprised and she was given the black and white image of her unborn children, she was happy and asked laura to keep it quite, "clint's Christmas present" said natasha, leaving to get in the car with laura.
LAURA'S HOUSE
"boys, were back" said laura walking in to the kitchen to see a drunk tony, an annoyed bruce, an exhausted steve and clint he was as tired drunk and annoyed as any of them, "right bed with all of you, i can't believe it, it is only 19:30 and your drunk" said laura "yep" slurred clint "oh my god" laughed pepper, "yep, where is your wife?" "in bed" replied pepper. "dear lord help the three of us" murmured natasha "did you say something" said tony coming out of his drunken state "yeah i said "dear lord help the three of us" three of us being me, laura and pepper, because were taking you to bed" "noo" tony and clint whined, bruce and steve didn't care, Thor was coming from asgard tomorrow anyway.
THE NEXT DAY/ 24th December 2015
"is that a child?" thor's voice boomed, alerting everyone in the room "hello yes it is" said laura, in Ana's haste she said something she would regret "dad, who the hell is that?" she asked clint, as soon as those words slipped out she covered her mouth in shock "oops" she said "dad" repeated tony "she is your kid?" asked bruce "yes" "wait is her mother miss "rushman" over here?" asked tony "no" the red head's and the archer said at the same time, "ok'' said tony not believing them, natasha realised the time 23:55 "laura, can we go wrap his present, thor bruce will show you your guys room, clint, Ana i don't know, go to bed, clint do not come into our room till i say" said natasha anxious, she shaking her hand around and clicking her fingers, "ok, calm down, come on Ana, tell me about school" said clint and they all went there separate ways, the baby ultrasound photo's would not be under the tree, she would give it to him at lunch after the presents were opened.
DECEMBER 25 2015
"MERRY CHRISTMAS" screamed Ana, they all laughed and opened presents
LUNCH
they all sat down and natasha slid clint a small box, wrapped up, she asked laura to keep it till xmas, he looked surprised, he opened it whilst taking a drink of vodka, he saw what was in the box and spat out his drink onto tony "seriously?" asked tony and leaned over to get napkins only to take the box and said well screamed "WHAT THE HELL?!" and he gave it back to clint "WHO THE HELL IS YOUR WIFE?" "tony, calm down" said jane and took out her phone and played the recording, of natasha and Ana "you were born three weeks before your father and i married, how do i remember this, because i woke up on my wedding day to you giggling with your father, and the date of course" "you were eavesdropping?" asked Ana "yes not only that but i bugged miss barton's keys" "we both know these symptoms" said laura "oh i know, how much longer can clint and i keep this relationship secret?" "i don't know" laura grabbed her hand bag, car keys and natasha's hand "where are we going?" said natasha, "nat has a point where are you going?" asked clint "out" "at 18:00 really?" "yep" in the car natasha and laura were talking, laura called her local doctor "yes hello, can i have an ultrasound appointment?" "ETA 2 minutes" "good, thanks" "laura, why are we here?" asked natasha sitting, trying her best not to be recognised, "laura, bring your friend" said the doctor before laura could answer "so who am i seeing?" she asked "doctor Karen, my sister-in-law might be pregnant" said laura "can i see your face?" she asked kindly "you cannot tell anyone who i am" said natasha "very well" she said, natasha removed the hood from her head, to reveal herself "the black widow from the avengers is your sister in law?" the elderly doctor said "yes i am" natasha had an ultrasound "your three months pregnant with twins" she said, natasha was surprised and she was given the black and white image of her unborn children, she was happy and asked laura to keep it quite, "clint's Christmas present" said natasha, "you bugged my phone?" "yes problem" "umm yeah you bugged my phone and eavesdropped, how would it not be a problem?" said laura threateningly "never bug an assassins phone, even if i don't look like one i could kill you, and you wouldn't even know i was there, seeing as there are children present i will refrain from doing so" she said as she threw a fork at the wall with perfect procession, without looking, it was to say the least stuck there. "your married?" asked steve "yes 13 years 25th of June. fury officiated, maria, coulson and laura were witnesses, along with Ana and cooper.

Mosaics III- Quarries
Chaper I and II. Part 2 of Requiem.
[Content warning for depression that can be read to include vague suicidal ideation]
Maria does not call Yelena. She does not actually have a number for Natasha’s sister. A contact for Melina would probably be easier to find, and perhaps go some way towards reaching Yelena, but Maria is not interested in opening that line of communication. She has never had Natasha’s capacity for forgiveness. Nor does she does have Natasha’s predisposition towards spite when forgiveness fails. Once, when Maria remarked on the contradiction, Natasha shrugged and said “I didn’t defect from Russia to perform the same role here and call it change without appreciating nuance, Maria. I contain multitudes. ” The poem’s invocation was both loaded and ironic.
Stark, who had not yet catalyzed the process that would leave Natasha a fugitive, but who had, already, demonstrated forty-plus years of being an ass, interjected from where he’d been eavesdropping in the next room. “That’s right, fallaces sunt rerum species, huh? And now the matryoshka appropriates the words of an American great.” Tony could carry a grudge and wield it sharply.
Natasha’s duality of temperament may have been a corollary to the transactional paradigm fostered by the Red Room, for all that the latter flourished under a state avowing collectivism. When communion risks crucifixion, favors become accounts payable. Still, Maria suspects that the language of a ledger was more a deflection from the chasm of guilt, shame, and sorrow of Natasha’s genuine perspective than an archtype. Natasha did not reduce lives lost and sundered to currency. Maria wishes she had similarly eschewed such dismissiveness in the positive change she affected, too.
The program of calculated horror in mind, Maria does not reach out to Melina by phone. And though she may deserve it, Maria does not mail Melina anthrax by envelope. She does dial her own voicemail and make it to the eleventh message from Natasha. She does not call Clint.
“I dreamt of our wedding last night, milaya. I'm ashamed of my suggestion that we not reference forever, even if it's not promised in our work. You were always so pragmatic, but god, I didn’t even consider how cruel it still must have sounded. It's just–I’d been so scared.”
Maria was not privileging pragmatism when she disagreed with Natasha, she was thinking of all the selves that Natasha had been and of all the people in Natasha’s life that had not stayed. Let me give you this, her words had meant. Let us be a rock.
“In the dream, standing under the altar, you became dust. You scattered into the breeze with Lila’s crumbled petals. Lila’s giggles faded too.
I recite those affirmations now, Maria.
Oh god, I feel so alone. No contact from Clint. You're dead and I still feel you. He's alive and I still grieve him.
Age has caught up to Liho. Sometimes, I have to lift her onto the bed. Those days, I imagine we agree it may be better just not to get back out.”
In the end, Maria does call Laura. If it was a matter of interpersonal accounts, it would be a debt owed. It is not. Laura gave Natasha family before Maria had ever opened their relationship with an invitation to coffee. Eventually, she became part of Maria’s family, too.
“Hello?”
“Hi Laura.”
“Maria,” Laura breathes her name and tears well up. Maria chokes them down. Before she descends into sobs, Maria asks after the kids. Laura nearly presses but ultimately accepts the diversion. She fills Maria in on the family’s adjustment, on the summer occupied by home restoration, and finally, on the tree Nate asked to plant in the field Natasha favored for picnics.
At the end of the call, Laura asks if Maria will think about coming out to the farm, and Laura's earlier words echo in her mind. As Maria thinks about a house left to disrepair, she is really thinking about the ruins of the Avenger’s facility. As she thinks about the complex's rubble, she is really thinking about a cat and a person, curled tight atop a bed yawning with empty space. She is is thinking about despair.
Conviction spools in Maria's chest. She cannot see Clint without breaking his nose.
Maria does contradictions too.
She tells Laura she can't leave the cat.

Olmsted Falls Historic District
Columbia Road
Olmsted Falls, OH 44138
Olmsted Falls Historic District is a historical landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places, roughly bounded by Bagley Rd., Brookside Dr., the Rocky River, and Nobottom Rd. in Olmsted Falls, Ohio.  Olmsted Falls (population 9,000) traces its roots to 1814, when Kingston Township was established. Settlers from Connecticut, Vermont, and New York built a reflection of a small New England town in the then-remote Ohio Western Reserve. A nearby sandstone quarry was instrumental in the growth of Olmsted Falls, and its sandstone blocks are still evident in local structures. The area was rich in natural resources, including first-growth forests and abundant water. The Rocky River, Plum Creek Falls, and Minnie Creek powered sawmills and grain and grist mills. Farming was also an important part of the economy, and in the 1940s, Olmsted Falls was one of the largest vegetable and hothouse plant greenhouse centers in the region.
     Kingston Township merged with the village of Westview and became the city of Olmsted Falls in 1971.  In the late 1980s, longtime resident and real estate agent Clint Williams bought many buildings in the town center and restored and redeveloped them into an area known as Grand Pacific Junction. The Junction has become the commercial and social center of the community and is celebrated as one of the most authentically renovated town center historic districts in Ohio.  On July 14, 2000, a portion of Olmsted Falls, comprising approximately 170 properties, was named a National Register Historic District. Significant properties include the Grand Pacific Hotel, built in the 1830s, the Grand Pacific Wedding Chapel, built in 1851, and the Bonsey Building, built in 1940.  The community celebrates Olmsted Heritage Days every August, featuring music, dancing, a parade, and a wide variety of performances.

Just wondering about the scene where Wanda wonders if Nat and Steve had gotten married during the snap. How do you think everyone would have reacted if they had done it?
Imagine if they had secretly gotten married?
Yelena would be upset she missed it, Wanda would have a whole mess of feeling (especially since Steve would officially be her step dad), Laura would be sad she missed it, Clint would be a little salt he didn’t get to walk Nat down the aisle (and Tony would remind him he could have if he hadn’t dropped off the face of the earth)
But I don’t think Nat would have a big wedding if she were to ever get married. It would be small affair, probably in a courthouse followed by the dinner outside at the farm
Thank you for the question!
