Perhaps he avoids it because of how often his dreams turn to nightmares. Perhaps he hates how lonely it feels to wake up. Perhaps he hates how the dark seems to creep at the edges of him before he has even closed his eyes. Maybe the only times he truly dreams is when he pretends, for that moment between asleep and awake, that he will open his eyes to someone next to him. 

Or perhaps he just needs to sleep.

Week 41

The holidays are upon us, and it's going to be getting harder to write, but please take time for yourself. Write what you can, even if it is a sentence comprised of 3 words is a triumph.

I wrote 643 words for Better Tomorrow - Chapter 12 is done I'm just waiting on @norbertsmom to beta the hot mess I wrote. I posted the last chapter of Fletcha and edited 4 words lol -but I didn't realize its a grand total of 50,947!

I LOVE THE BACKGROUND, I LOVE THE COLOURS, I LOVE THE POSE. THIS IS ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITES. I don't know if it was just the Nightwing aspect...but I am so proud of what I did! I just went with what I figured to be the best and this is that result. I kept up with the whole sketchy appeal to it too, which I do think suit the overall art.

House M.D. but it's when Wilson says House's name

#house md #james wilson #prince's talk tag #finally!!! it's done! this and the house version took almost two weeks to do #first off thank you to the clinic-duty team on livejournal for making the transcripts for these episodes #because this video would be near impossible to make without their clear transcripts. I hope y'all are doing well #ive been reading a lot of fics with these two and i see how the authors have the characters refer to each other in their fics #and that got me wondering how much do they say each other's name in the show and how do they refer to each other #since this is the wilson video ill put his stats here #s1 was 11 times s2 was 18 s3 was 45 s4 was 32 s5 was 41 s6 was 60 s7 was 47 and s8 was 48 #in total he says his name 302 times. Mostly refers to him just by House #the only time I've heard him say his first name its when he's being professional or when he's really angry (and that one time he proposed) #and even then it's always the full name not just the first name #the only instance I've seen him use just his first name was on that note he put on House's xmas gift that we see in season 5 #and as much as I wanted to put that moment in here he never actually says the contents of the note out loud so i had to leave it out #but what surprised me was he says House's name more than House says his name #especially when the earlier seasons didn't have him say his name as much

Week 41: Last Week of School?

It’s the last week of school before the start of summer break and the energy in the classrooms this week is something different than it’s been all year.  There's a degree of excitement, but there also is a sense of accomplishment.  We’ve made it!

8th Grade is practicing and getting ready for promotion.  Their school year officially ends Wednesday with their promotional ceremony marking their transition from Middle School to High School.  I find myself reflecting on my own 8th Grade promotion.  I hope it goes well for my students, even though I fear a few of them may be in for a rude awakening when the realities of High School and all it means and entails kick in in the fall.  I hope, my worst-case scenario predictions do not come true.  I honestly wish them, well and am truly excited on their behalf.

A few individuals for various reasons have seemingly chosen this week to make all sorts of new and troubling choices for themselves.  But in spite of this, the week is going well.  The classrooms are a buzz.  Movies are playing in lieu of instructions as Chromebooks are all but gone from the scene.  And yearbooks have made their appearance.  

For the first time in my teaching career, I’ve been asked to sign multiple Student Year Books.  This is also the first time I’ve received heartfelt Thank-You notes from my Co-Teachers.  It truly has been a year of firsts.  And I am gratefully glad of that.

not to be like this but all of the posts (and there are many across multiple platforms) right now going "I mean obviously I'm not mad or whining or anything but it sucks that there's all these three week breaks, how am I going to survive, this is awful, I cannot believe this is happening to me" like, it does in fact come off as entitled no matter how many qualifiers are put onto it

and the a smaller subset of THAT going "CLEARLY C3 isn't a priority for the studio" or "they're obviously trying to kill C3" or even posting stuff that comes off as "um, don't they know that if they keep doing this I won't shop here watch anymore", like, come on

as a tangent, genuinely, I feel like a lot of people have trouble admitting that they don't actually like C3 so they get existentially worried about them losing interest over a slightly longer break because it'll force them to acknowledge that they aren't actually interested, but it's fine not to be interested!

#I will not be engaging with any asks or replies about this #yes I AM cranky in general in life today so that cranky tone is not imagined #like frankly I'm not *as* invested in C3 as I am C2 but like I AM interested in it so the break isn't killing me or my interest so it's ? #like come on I've waited longer for cable television shows. Candela fans wait this long. Don't get me started on British TV. #I'm a D.Gray-man fan and that releases QUARTERLY. Monthly comics. Novels. #Why are we all having hyperbolic breakdown posts over three weeks. Truly I do not understand this culture that's developed around C3. #every time there isn't an ep this week (incl for the regular week off) there's an outpouring of hyperbolic “i'm DYING” posts and I'm like ? #also the break between episodes 40 and 41 was a whole month (November into December 2022) #the break between 8 and 9 was three weeks (December 2021 into January 2022) #Like were you people not here for that? #Critical Role things
