It's boopin' time!
That's right, folks, go boop to your hearts' content—let's see how many boops can be booped. Archive of Our Own was briefly down for maintenance and folks were quite relieved when it came back up. Batman, a perennial favorite on this ol' blue space, trended again with folks waxing poetic about their favorite Batfam. Honkai: Star Rail players are thrilled Acheron is here and boy is there a lot of fan art of a certain dance. Buddie shippers, let's all give a big "thank you" to the GIF-makers and fic authors who are keeping y'all fed. This is Tumblr's Week in Review.

HAPPY SUNDAY LOVELIES! 🖤
Ooof what a week. Busy with work, but I'm on vacation again next week, woo! Plenty of time to write, and catch up on my reading list and I can't wait. 🤗
The weather has turned over the last two weeks here where I live in the UK, and it's very rainy and cold, so I'm looking forward to snuggling up with warm fuzzy socks and hot chocolate on the regular. 😍
So without further ado, let's crack on with this week's Whip Round.
Jack, will you do the honours?
Tumblr media
Catch up on last week here, sugar
☆ Things I've posted this week
Five Days - Chapter 8 - I honestly don't want this series to end... But we're getting into the thick of it now. Thank you for all the love for Joel & Reader. 🖤
Thrash Metal - Dieter Bravo One Shot. Thots about a pierced Dieter birthed this and I am not sorry.
The Bow Tie - Dieter Bravo GIFLET
Self-Care With Dieter & Jett focused on loss this week. It was a bit of a heavy subject, but two special guests, Agent Whiskey & Marcus Moreno, stopped by to share their stories.
A Loving Ode To The Writers is my message to all the incredible writers out there in the fandom. And a big F you to all the haters.
This Week's Writer Wow shone the spotlight on my fellow Ezra bae @sp00kymulderr whom I just adore for so many reasons. And you will too, go give them a follow if you're not already. 🖤
☆ Things I'm currently working on
I've teased out my next series after Five Days to some of my friends on Discord this week - teehee... 🤭 Stay tuned for it coming in January.
Got a couple of one shots on the go and as always plenty more GIFLETS to come.
☆ Things I've read this week
I've book marked quite a lot to read and catch up on this week. I'm planning on catching up with some of my favourite writers too next week whilst I am off work.
Some fics that stood out to me this week were:
Be Good, Be Quiet - @undercoverpena Jo mentioned that she wasn't so innocent this week, and after reading this, she's absolutely right. 😜 Holy smokes, this was super hot and made me all up in my sexy Joel feels! Oof. Check it out, it will not disappoint! Innocent my ass, Jo... pfffft. 😉
Sub!Frankie & Bondage - @swiftispunk I had the biggest grin on my face reading this and if you've read it too, you'll know why. Good God this was excellent and packed so much punch! 🔥
Letterman Jacket - @fuckyeahdindjarin I've had this Javi P fic saved on my TBR for a while and am kicking myself I haven't read it sooner because it is utterly divine. Still thinking about that damn jacket now... 😍
Dry Run - @chronically-ghosted Once again, Taylor knocks it well and truly out of the park, this time with Javi P dancing with you. And I couldn't be more enthused or enthralled reading this. It's a scorcher. 🥵
Hoofbeats - @psychedelic-ink I'm a sucker for this pairing of Joel & Whiskey, and this story was exceptionally good with the imagery and feels. I absolutely loved it. 🥰
All these fics and more will be added to my Pedro Character Fic Rec List too.
Just want to give a shoutout to this post too from @fuckyeahpaperco by @fuckyeahdindjarin who makes stunning, and I mean STUNNING Pedro stationary. I can't wait to get my hands on some, been eyeing those post-its! I will be treating myself for sure. Perfect little stocking fillers in time for Christmas too! 🎄
☆ What have I been watching/listening to this week?
I caught up on some Pedro Podcasts this week whilst at work, some of them I hadn't actually listened to in full before...
I've made a playlist putting them all together, and it also includes Pedro's episode on Motherhacker. So, please feel free to click on and have a listen for yourself if you haven't.
My absolute favourite has to be the Talk Art Podcast. Hearing Pedro talk about art he loves is phenomenal.
☆ What have I been up to this week?
Working, and squeezing in some reading and writing. The weather hasn't been too great here for hiking the last two weeks, so I'm itching to get out this week and go for a hike if I can, stretch the ol' legs.
I hope you guys have had a great week and are enjoying the weekend. That wraps it up for this week so I'll catch you on the next Whip Round.
Stay kind, stay creamy. Let's skedaddle, Jack. 🖤

new year's planning...also oops cuz i just realized i made a typo (no way would i survive a one-month long course in organic chem...thank god they don't exist 😅)
honestly so not ready to go back to school, i just wanna finish all the programming courses i started and read all the journal articles i want to (they're a large contributor to the many browser tabs i have open 😭). it's not because i don't like what i'll be learning about - the journal articles i'm reading are on life sciences topics after all. i dread the rigidity and unforgivingness of the semester and lonely feelings that come with it. i feel so much more free and like i have a choice in how i spend my days when i'm not in school.
study stats (50/10): 🍅🍅🍅🍅(? i stopped counting after 3h)
meditate ✅
physio ✅
finish reading metabolomics article ✅
start reading proteomics article ✅
learn Perl ✅
learn R ✅
exercise ✅

Hey it's Monday! Let's try that
Week-In-Review?
I am definitely doing these more as an adulting accountability post I think, but regardless!
Reading:
Finished The Hollow Places, highly recommended, deeply disturbing and yet ultimately wonderfully comforting/validating/humane. Can't quite think of the word I want? But it makes you glad to be a People on This World of Ours! (If also very glad that the specific adventures in the book are fiction and you do not have to worry about them spreading to anyone else 😅)
Am currently re-reading a series I recalled from when I was, idk, 10 or something, called The Time Keeper which holds up pretty well. I'm enjoying them... they're VERY 80s-SFF-Juvenile Fiction, though, if anyone is familiar with that niche of a sub-genre. 😄
My mother and I had a weird conversation awhile back: do you remember those books with the time travel and the stepping stones when I was a kid? and did eventually figure out the series with only that! Then she found the ebooks re-issued by the author and got them for me. 🎉
Playing:
Murder by Numbers, which is a mystery VN plus a slew of those pictogram puzzle things, and I am enjoying it a lot. Though I got a low(er) score on the third case and am not sure what I missed, so it may be a bit before I go back to finish it... It goes gloriously hard with its 90s aesthetic/setting too, so that's fun.
Adulting:
I have not been making my bed or doing anything beyond the bare minimum of laundry, but the dishes are being held in check and I've been taking my meds and no one missed an appointment or starved, so that's pretty much a win, I think?
Creating:
I did work on the Current Cross Stitch, but it's a bit of a slog atm (and I think I screwed up a color) so that didn't last long...
No writing either.
Instead I made a Crochet Kit Piggie!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's a little crooked, but I'm pleased by my first attempt. 💕 Next I'm trying an Elephant and they'll go sit on the picture book shelf with Thing 2's old Elephant & Piggie Books, since I still remember those pretty fondly myself.
And that's about it? We got a bit of snow today, which was nice, but otherwise it's been the same old around here.
What have you been up to, my dears & darlings?

15th Oct.
This week has been difficult for me. Recovering from a medical procedure took longer than I had hoped and with my not so great mental health I’ve been feeling pretty down.
But there have been things to bring me back up, and I’m forever grateful for that. I haven’t been involving myself in fandom much recently for personal reasons but I’ve been in the background enjoying peoples posts and creations. And of course, the man himself always brings joy - I wasn’t able to join the bloodsucking bastards watch on the space sisters server but I had a Prospect rewatch which always lifts my spirits. Thank goodness for Ezra & Pedro 💚
Tumblr media
I’ve read less than I’d hoped to this week, but I’ve loved the things I have! Some recs from me:
A forgotten scene by @fromthedeskoftheraven
Cockwarming w Marcus M by @flightlessangelwings
Kiss me quick by @secretelephanttattoo
I’ve also made a start to some longer fics & series which I’m loving and so excited to keep reading! (I’m so so slow, I’m sorry)
The Pit by @morallyinept
Muddy Waters by @bonezone44
Recovery Road by @chronically-ghosted
A ghost of you by @wannab-urs
Compulsion by @iamskyereads
Tumblr media
Of my own work, this week I’ve posted a few little things - to be honest I’ve been filled with dread about posting fic recently but I’m pushing through and trying to appreciate my own creativity more:
-Dulia (Ezra x gn!reader)
-Ascending Stars (Ezra x f!reader)
-take the long way home pt 2 (marcus pike x afab!reader)
-A selection of Dieter & one Ezra phone wallpapers here and here
Tumblr media
For the week ahead, I’m kind of nervous about some work things but I do have plans (a date!!) and I’m super excited to hopefully have Our House of Flames pt 3 (Joel x reader) out. I also have a good old list of fic to read (95 and counting on my tbr - god bless the talented and prolific writers in this fandom).
Thank you all for brightening my dash & my days - always sending my appreciation. And love to anyone who reads this random Sunday ramble!

Week in Review (8/20/23)
I saw @trulybetty post a week-in-review last week and it inspired me to start something similar on my page. Over the past couple of weeks, I shared some of my fic recs on Fridays, but I figured I'd share a little bit more. So thanks (again) for another amazing idea B!
What I read:
Frankie Morales
The Layover by @goodwithcheese. This is a given to be on my list every week, I just love this series so much!
The Pilot and His Girl by @avastrasposts … Triple Frontier in the TLOU universe. I love crossovers and this one has been *chef's kiss* and a mainstay on my weekly reading list.
Two from @trulybetty:
Stood Up Being stood up for a date doesn't end so bad when you meet Frankie at a bar.
Flings A series of short snippets between Frankie and the reader as their relationship progresses...love the way this one was structured!
Jack Daniels
Cognitive Dissonance by @prolix-yuy A crossover bringing together Kingsmen and Westworld. I was obsessed with Westworld, particularly Season 1 (happy to yell about later seasons with anyone), and this concept is just too good!
Dieter Bravo
Destiny & Deliverance by @mysterious-moonstruck-musings. One of my WIPs is a Dieter fic, so I'm not reading a lot of him right now, but this is the exception. It's such a beautiful story.
Marcus Pike
Common Grounds by @whataperfectwasteoftime. It's been a while since I read a fic with my favorite FBI agent (and by a while, it's probably been like two weeks). Marcus is just so damn charming in this!
Javier Peña
Late Night Texts by @mvtthewmurdvck. Javi receives a text from the wrong number. It's soft Javi at his softest and cutest.
It's Never Too Late by @javierpena-inatacvest Javi and an elementary school teacher develop a relationship after he comes to her school for a presentation.
What I watched:
On the plane, I watched a few episodes of Abbott Elementary. It's been something I have wanted to watch for a while and I loved it! Can't wait to watch more. I also started season 3 on The Umbrella Academy.
Things I'm looking forward to reading:
I have such a backlog of fics I want to read! Too many to list here, but I'll probably work in a Marcus Pike and Joel fic next week ... I miss those two 😆
Fun things from the week:
💜 My husband and I are on just our second trip alone together since our daughter was born (we are still on vacation through Monday). It has been fun to get away and not listen to Frozen on a loop…love her but I need a break from Elsa. We've kept pretty busy but also had some time to just chill at our hotel.
💜 In Tumblr land, I have been having so much fun interacting with everyone on the Delta Landscaping and Working Title posts…it really makes my day to see all of the feedback! So thank you to anyone who has taken time out to read any of it.
Fic Updates:
Working Title - This week Chapter 7 came out and also a little extra piece that's a companion to Chapter 6.
Delta Landscaping - I hit a bit of a wall earlier in the week, but after a poll and some nice, encouraging messages I got back on track. I'll have Chapter 2 out later today!
That's it for me!

Grierson & Leitch (subscribe in iTunes) We discussed “The Marvels," "The Holdovers" and "Albert Brooks: Defending My Life."
Waitin’ Since Last Saturday (subscribe in iTunes) We recapped the Mississippi game, and previewed the Tennessee game.
Filing the first 25,000 words of the new book in a week. I hope it makes sense? Have a great week everyone, and remember: Our criminal justice system is so flawed, especially when it deals with the poor and the nonwhite, that we cannot be sure of the guilt of many of those we put to death. George Ryan, not running for re-election, faced that truth and commuted those sentences, and said he could live with his decision. George Bush was absolutely confident he was right to allow 152 prisoners to die. He could live with his decision, too.

WEEK IN REVIEW : Jul. 25 - 28, 2023.
Melancholy. The menstrual cycle. Personal debacles.
Before the red, a grey feeling follows me. It blows on the shells of my ear and slowly sinks it’s teeth into me, it is a feeling of comfortable, melting despair. See, I am a thinker, a chronic one at that, a philosopher of catastrophe and fear. In this, I find no panic attack or thought of suicide to be abnormal. However, this grey, this familiar numbness that consumes me days before my cycle, leaves me bedridden with sorrow. It muffles that overzealously dark thinking, as if a thick fog descends over my brain as a form of self-self defense.
Little did I know, as per my Doctor, no, it is not normal to have , as Barbie put it so articulately “irrepressible thoughts of death” right before my cycle. That no, the color draining from the world around you is not a normal feeling to have! So now I sit with this, juggling the possibility of PMDD or simply being fucking insane.
I’m scrolling through Instagram and I pass many perfectly scrapbooked faces with perfectly scrap booked accounts and feeds. I pride myself on never being one to compare and contrast, but a feeling of clarity and sadness(?) washed over me as I realized; I don’t ever want my livelihood to rely on social media. Over and over, the same phrase ran itself through my mind; “I will not be(come) a spectacle.” As I continue to find less value in being so visible on the internet, I find my priorities changing.
I feel no desire to perform anything void of art, void of depth, void of self. Meaning that unless I feel my postings are a direct expression of myself (within limitation, we don’t know each other!) and my artistic endeavors, it’s simply meant to be kept sacred. 10 months or so ago, I deleted tiktok. Some months following, I threw Twitter in the same gorge. These apps that brought so little pleasure, that thrived on empty vanity and emptier validation just stopped doing it for me— as if the switch in my brain that was so conditioned to seek its detached persona just.. flipped. Still, I don’t mind posting myself, my works, my daily musings, I just detest the thought of having to be somebody in the name of being marketable. For if social media is a tool I plan to use mine to connect and create. Everything else about it can burn in hell.
Periods are gruesome, social media is a temple of egotistical false gods and god damn it all I am SO fucking TIRED of my brain being stuck on the same desolate rat wheel.
One day I’ll break free of it all

Normally we'd make a joke about Good Omens here but we're still too emotionally fragile about it to do so.
The long-awaited second season of Good Omens is finally out on @primevideo, and, well, it's gonna be a long wait for season three. Thanks to all the fan artists and fic writers who will hold us over until then. The Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir movie premiered on @netflix, and fans are delighting in drawing comparisons with the show. Five Nights at Freddy's Ruin DLC dropped, so we hope all y'all are enjoying all the new frightening gameplay. One of the most anticipated manga chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen was animated in the latest episode, while the manga itself has been a continual spiral of mind-blowing fights. The trailer for the film adaptation of Red, White, & Royal Blue is whipping fans into a tizzy. Finally, Twitter is X now. Sure. This is Tumblr's Week in Review.

HAPPY SUN MONDAY LOVELIES! 🖤
Well, this week whizzed by, didn't it?! But what a week! So much wonderful Pedro to grace our eyes, that I feel like I'm still not over it... I mean, warn a girl next time, would ya, Pedro?! 🥴
Posting this a little later this week, due to the birthday posts that came out yesterday. It was my birthday, and I also hit a follower milestone this week. 🎉 Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes, I feel truly spoiled. 🖤
My week off is over and I'm back to work tomorrow (boohissboo!) but it was lovely to have a break and indulge in some much needed me time. (I do have another week off in 3 weeks time, so I'm looking forward to that!)
So, let's get into this week's whip round. Crack that whip, Jack!
Tumblr media
Catch up on last week here, sugar
☆ Things I've posted this week
Oof, it's been a busy one...
Five Days - Chapter 5 - The comments and responses I get to this Joel fic of mine just amazes me. I am so glad, and so thankful, for all those reading and enjoying it, and who are invested so much in Joel and Reader. 🥰
Good Morning Agent York - Dave York GIFLET
The Wolf & The Lamb - Dave York GIFLET (requested by an awesome Anon Ask)
Dress Me Up & Call Me Pretty - A Dieter Bravo One Shot. This was my first time writing for Dieter, and I'm so glad you've been enjoying the character study of Dieter's inner workings in this story. Special thanks to @for-a-longlongtime for shouting about this fic so much (I love you!) and for letting me toss ideas and snippets at you.
Broadcasting Live Tonight - A Dieter Bravo One Shot - Had Dieter on the brain this week, clearly. After all the SNL hype, just had to throw this one together. I blame Pedro entirely, and that blazer... 🫠
I released two birthday themed fics this week for my birthday: Candles - A Joel Miller One Shot 🕯& Birthday Cake - A Frankie Morales One Shot. 🎂
Self Care with Dieter & Jett focused on ways to combat loneliness this week, with a very brief cameo from sultry Javi P.
This Week's Writer Wow shone the spotlight on the amazing @chronically-ghosted, please go and give Taylor a follow and enjoy and re-blog her work - it's absolutely fantastic!
I also released the next batch of fun cocktails this week in my Pedro Pascal SNL Character Cocktail Special. These are so much fun to put together, and with the SNL content over this past week, it was kind of a must. Shout out to @secretelephanttattoo for reminding me about this - you read my sozzled mind. 🍹
☆ Things I'm currently working on
I teased out some WIP's this week based off of the WIP Game that was doing the rounds. So I'm working on some of those currently.
They're here if you missed them: Ezra WIP, Javi P WIP, Joel Miller & Agent Whiskey WIP & Marcus Pike WIP - All coming soon.
Always got more going on in the background for one shots and GIFLETS.
☆ Things I've read this week
My Pedro Character Fic Rec List has been updated again this week. Lots more fics and writer's added. There's so much on there I still need to read myself. Seems to get bigger everyday... but then, that's a pretty great problem to have, right?
Some gems I read that stood out this week were:
Dream Within A Dream - @gasolinerainbowpuddles This Incubus!Ezra fic is written like a dream, and it was an absolute dream to read too. Anything Ezra and I am there, hello! But this is deffo a must read for anyone in the fandom. I am still not over the impression it left on me, and Puddles' writing is just sheer perfection. 👌🏻
An American Hero - @secretelephanttattoo I got acquainted with El's OFC Katie in this wonderful fic. And I love her! I love how she knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid to get it. Javier Peña has met his match! 😜
Pent Up - @ramblers-lets-get-ramblin Another Javi P fic this week by the talented and lovely Angela, who I just adore. And this fic left me panting, let me tell you. Read it for yourself and you'll understand why... 🥵
Close Shave - @mothandpidgeon A detailed look at Dave York shaving, and it was chock full of vivid imagery, that I felt like I was there watching him do it. Absolutely delightful writing. 😍
Obsession - @tropes-and-tales This Dave York fic also painted some incredible imagery and is such a great read. I love how this was written and you should absolutely check this one out. 👍🏻
Hinterland - @legendary-pink-dot Camping? ✅️ Camping with Frankie? ✅️ Camping with Frankie who's sleepy and docile and warm? ✅️ Camping with Frankie who's sleepy and docile and warm and then starts to... ✅️ Read it for yourself to see what happens next. You won't regret it! 🥵
☆ What have I been watching/listening to this week?
I binge-watched The Fall Of The House Of Usher this week, all in one day... 🥴 It was so good and I highly recommend it if you're a Poe fan - or not, watch it anyway. It was dark, clever and I love how they brought such an old, renowned tale into the 21st century. I absolutely crush hard on Carla Gugino also, she's such an amazing actor. 😊
I also rewatched Strange Way Of Life and Bloodsucking Bastards, because, you know, I had to... 😉
Also watched Talk To Me and I really enjoyed that film too!
☆ What have I been up to this week?
I've been on on annual leave from work this week and it's been filled with a ton of writing, some hiking, catching up with friends and family, and it was my birthday too - phew! Back to work tomorrow, and I almost feel like I need another week off to recuperate from this one! 🥵
Thank you again to everyone who sent Asks and DM's this week. And thank you so much for all of the birthday love. Honestly, you guys are amazing!
Well, that wraps it up for this week. I hope you all have a great week!
This is Jack and Jett signing off to go to the rodeo, based on @wildemaven 's amazing Jack moodboard here. Yee-haw!
Stay kind & stay creamy 🖤

(rebranding the 30 days of code x 15 day study challenge to a december study challenge bc everything i had planned is due at some point in december. i don't have to keep up a streak of days or whatever if i can't bc priorities. the aim is to just try to get the stuff done by the deadlines.)
nnnnggghhhh i wanna start the next chapter of my life already (if my life was a book, this is the point at which i would skip ahead to see what's next and spoil the story for myself, at which point @zzzzzestforlife would facepalm and rant in frustration bc she hates that i do that with pretty much every book i read 😂)
📈 study stats (30/5/30):
M: 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅 T: 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅 W: 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅 (i was literally 6 mins shy of earning my 13th tomato, but my brain was giving out and quality over quantity! 😤) Th: 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅 F: 🍅

review biochem module 4 (just started it this F but barely...instead, i cleaned and read and reacted to and journalled about the dictionary of lost words)
psyc practice exam ✅
review psyc short answer (labs) and answer sample questions ✅ (answered all except 1 question but i think i did alright on the actual exam...i don't have my marks back yet but i didn't feel completely clueless which is always a good sign 🤷🏻‍♀️)
psyc exam ✅
🩺 self-care:

jilly's week in review?
I guess or something. Idek y'all, I was gonna try and do reviews but then I just rambled about what I did instead, so this is clearly gonna need a format revamp next week
anyway
READING
Finished Daughter of Witches
and also St. Peter's Fair, which I had started AGES ago and sort of lost track of, but I'm doing the January Challenge on TheStoryGraph and couldn't decide what to read next but needed to get my pages in, so I went digging for random shit and I have read it before and watched all the Cadfael mysteries so it's not like it was hard to get into to finish it so I could save my streak.😅
Read A House with Good Bones (on purpose from start to finish in one day!) because T. Kingfisher/Ursula Vernon is absofuckinglutely one of my favorites. (There's a thought here about my occasional forays into the horror genre, and how some horror is almost kind of cozy because it's about protecting what we love from what we fear, and that is very much a Kingfisher kind of thing, but that might need a new post and a more functional brain to figure out where I'm going with that.)
Listened to a little bit more of IT while doing housework; I'm not great at audio books except when I'm driving, but sometimes I can manage a little (and I didn't want to distract myself from dishes by picking up a new book instead). Stephen Weber is an excellent narrator btw, for anyone who's curious.
WATCHING
The husband was sick last week, and I was only sort of doing shit either, so he kind of just put the TV on and let it go and I definitely will not manage a nice list with links like I did with books. There was some M*A*S*H, (oh, I did finally watch the special that recently came out on Hulu), and RoboCop (largely because Thing 1 gave the husband the new game for Christmas) and several different Predator movies of various quality, and a bunch of other stuff I am not thinking of at the moment. I know I picked a couple and watched them myself but with everything else I can't remember what?
Also some Mythbusters when Thing 2 picked something to watch for awhile, which is pretty much always entertaining even when we're like: your sample size is nonexistent and just because you can't do it doesn't mean someone who knows what they're doing couldn't have done it so are you SURE you should have busted that? 😅
PLAYING
I got Garden Story for Christmas and got through the quest-lines and realized I was quite far away from all the upgrades, so I've been periodically poking at it and trying to get my villages/tools better before trying the Final Boss. I have had a good time with Concord though, it's fun, I'm just not sure the leveling functions, such as they are, are paced/balanced quite right? 😅 (Or perhaps I'm just Bad At Fighting In Cozy Games? This does seem to be a bit of a trend tbqh, probably why I liked Wylde Flowers' lack of combat so much.) I also have found VERY FEW of the memories/weird achievements so that's a thing I'm probably going to have to look up hints for soon-ish...
(I did finish Potion Permit last year, which is great, I recommend it whole-heartedly: the potion building mechanic is usually pretty solid, it has good characters, a nice aesthetic, I did actually mostly have fun rolling around and fighting things/gathering stuff, but I did reach the end of the main quest and then go... huh, is that it? just because it, yk, kept going after the finale but there didn't seem to be anything there beyond like, a couple personal quests that needed materials I couldn't unlock until the end.)
MORE ENTERTAININGLY I THINK, we did also play some board games
Paint The Roses is QUITE HARD with only two people even if you stick to the medium level whims; or maybe I'm just not that smart?!? We did in fact survive without getting our heads' chopped off by the Queen of Hearts, but we legit guessed the last two puzzles so. Dumb Luck™️ is not nearly as reliable as actually figuring out how to plot your plants better.
We did Escape the Dark Sector (with more people this time, tbf) on our first try though! That was pretty delightful. It is atmospheric and potentially almost deadly without feeling too awful at any point! Also I got to punch a tentacle monster!
Mice & Mystics can go dramatically bad if your dice aren't on your side and you do like, one stupid thing to compound that, and then if you're invested enough to start over you can suddenly realize you've been moving tiny plastic mice and bugs around the table for like four hours and still only got through the first chapter... but not regret it at all because you like your mice and are very proud of them for finally making it!
Can you tell we like co-op games? 🤣🤣🤣
(I did also do some rearranging so the game room was comfier, so like, win/win I adulted and played!)
THERE WAS NO WRITING OR CROSS-STITCHING OR PAINTING OR ANYTHING ELSE THIS WEEK, so uh. Clearly my balance of activities is bonkers and I should maybe get off the couch/game chair(s) a bit more often.
