its 2023

hello big world. it has once again been farrrrrr too long. But we made it to 2023 and although 2022 was a year of growth, it is so good to reflect and I think 2023 is gonna be so great. I can just feel it, I'm not just saying it.

Lets look back on 2022. The year started very unstable, Ruby and I were homeless and lived in airbnbs for a month before moving into Egan Street with the boys. Although, we felt like we had reached stability, the house was not the vibes we desired. It was cold, dark, dirty and not relaxing. But we made it work. But Nathan and Kenzie got a house just around the corner, so that was fun! The 4 of us had each other to rely on in this big city. We also connected with AB and our little NZ group begun. It was nice to finally have a group and always have people up for activities. We went to Dennis Sulta and Peggy Gou in the summer months which were super fun. We did a trip to Sydney to stay with Max, which although was chaotic with Ruby requiring an ambulance because of hart palpitations and me getting a mild concussion we still had lots of fun! Then we had our first visitors in one weekend, Maia and Molly came. We gave them the Melbourne tour and although too much money was spent we all had a blast. We took Ruby to her first AFL game and we had our Egan Street house party. I then made my first trip back to NZ since I had moved to Melbourne which was superrrrr special, athough I did not stop and it was quite overwhelming, it was made me very grateful for my home. On top of the end of financial party, Splendour, my birthday, Vince moving to Melbourne and many more activities, I was battling a lot of intense emotions of either ultimate happiness or ultimate sadness and frankly it was exhausting. It was the weekend Emma came to visit, that I felt I had a bit of a turnaround, I finally felt happy/content for a consecutive amount of time, it also helped we moved into our new apartment!! I completely underestimated how your space can impact your mood and I will aim to live in a light filled open space forever, as it does wonders to the mental health. We then had Ella move in and we were so relieved!! We finally found a house mate we clicked with and felt comfortable with. She was warm, fun and just the same vibe, it was so great. To finish off the year, Ruby, Connor and I went to Sydney for Dua Lipa, Isabel came to visit, we did the Werribee Gauge hike, Ruby and I went to Jack Johnson and I had the Cassette Christmas party. We also did a girls getaway to Lorne with our Aussie friends which was super nice, despite the expensive rental car... And to top off the year in literally the week before christmas I signed a new job at Clemengers on the Myer account and resigned at Cassette. I also met a lovely boy called Dan, who treats me like a queen and is super sexy. I don't want to jinx him because so far so good, but things are looking good :) I then flew back to NZ just in time for Christmas and spent new years with my friends and I felt so calm and happy it was so so special. And just like that I flew back to Melbourne yesterday and it is 2023!! So wow, what a year, I definitely didn't remember all that off the top of my head, the trusty camera roll assisted but I am so lucky with all the fun things and opportunities I have had. And guess what there is more to come..

2023 - a huge year ahead.

Not only do I have so many things to look forward to, I am really hoping I am able to be more stable and secure within my mental health. I am in my last few weeks at Cassette, I then go to Burleigh to have a special few days with Maia and Kenzie, I then begin my new job!! I am flying back to NZ in March to surprise dad for his 70th! Mum and Dad come for Easter in April and in June... I GO TO EUROPE!!! So so exciting. So a big year, but a good one. A year of feeling settled, being mature, turning 25, being positive, staying fit, saving money and being smart with money. Not setting such high expectations of myself and trying to be present. All easy to write down but really training the brain to be in a positive loop rather than negative.
