i'm going to just keep subjecting you all to my ocs
Image Description: waist up digital drawing of Nox, a dnd character. Nox is a grey-skinned, pale grey haired drow. They sit at a table, on elbow resting on a stack of books. They hold their face in their hands and look pensively to the side. They wear a wrinkly white shirt. Behind them, a simple library background in shades of green.

Imagine: you are Idril and you hate your cousin viscerally and this hate is later justified in every way possible. He is a monster and a traitor and as unlike your belovéd aunt as possible. And he dies, and he does not come to the Halls of Mandos and does not reembody. Perhaps you are horrible for thinking this: but you are glad. You are glad he is gone and unable to return. He was a nightmare who crawled into your stainless city and tore it down when it was least expected. He made your father love him, and then he betrayed him, and you will never forgive nor forget it. Now there is no way he can hurt you, your husband, your son, your people– and there is no one he can betray.
and then your aunt reembodies.
Your aunt reembodies and yes, she died for that monster, but she was blameless for she was forced to marry evil and birth evil and love evil. But now she's reborn without those cobwebs of enchantment and you are prepared for her grief and rage over having been controlled. She will not be the same. But she will be back, at long last.
Except. she comes back and none of these things happen.
She doesn't care that her son is evil and treacherous, more his father's son than hers. She doesn't care. She grieves for your city and in the next breath she wishes for her son's return. So you love your aunt and your aunt loves the creature of your nightmares– the betrayer that nearly killed your son and brought your home to ruin. So you love your aunt but she does not listen when you tell her to let her son go because she never saw–
and so your aunt leaves. and it feels like betrayal. like your cousin ruining your family further from beyond the grave.
she still visits, but no one in the family knows where she lives. She is strange– both the steely eyed aunt you remember and yet sometimes she looks like she has never seen you before. you try to break the enchantment that she must be under to keep looking for your Marred cousin, but there is nothing for you to find. all your trying does is send her into a rage the likes you have only seen once before: when she dragged your father away from following your mother in death for your sake.
you love your aunt, and most days, you are sure your aunt loves you.
but you cannot understand her, and in this you have lost her as surely as when she died.

Princess Zara Backstory
So a while back someone asked if I had a backstory for Princess Zara from the videogame Disney Princess: Enchanted Journey
I didn't at the time but thinking it over since I think I've found a good fit within my DisneyVerse
I knew I wanted to do a take on Zelena from OUAT since I already had her parents and sister, but since Theodora from Oz the Great and Powerful is the DisneyVerse version of the Wicked Witch of the West she couldn't be that, but I think Zara fits nicely. Greek color scheme, Z name, motivated by jealousy, ect.
So in my DisneyVerse Zara is the second child of Corinne and Henri, unexpected and unplanned as they meant to have no further children who could be in danger from a vengeful Rumplestiltskin, per the terms of their last bargain
Desperate to keep her safe, they end up meeting the Enchantress through her friendship with Hélène, and she agrees to take the child under her care to hide her from Rumplestiltskin, knowing it might be her only chance
Zara is brought up ignorant of her past under the Enchantress's rather cold care--she never was very good with children-- and is a lonely, often angry, little girl, who dreams of another life, one where she feels important and wanted, often lashing out against her distant guardian in order to gain her attention
When she exhibits a talent for magic, she hopes this will bring the Enchantress to pay more attention to her, or at least bring her esteem in the eyes of others
But though the Enchantress trains her somewhat, she is still critical of how Zara's temper gets away from her ('refusing to learn those Princess Virtues')
Eventually, fed up with her life, Zara uses her magic to run away from the Enchantress's magically hidden home--which unfortunately leads her right into the clutches of Rumplestiltskin
The imp tells her a twisted version of her origin, making her believe her mother abandoned her in favor of her sister Princess Regine
Heartbroken and bitter over what she sees as her stolen life, Zara begins to learn dark magic from the imp, and soon begins her vendetta of ensuring that if she can't be a princess, no one can…

Dear Hellendil,
I hope you are well and enjoying the colder days!
It's been a long time since I sent you an owl.
The liquorice you sent me back then is still there. I've managed to ration it well.
But today I'm writing to you because I stumbled across something in the library. A parchment scroll with questions on it. Apparently it's doing the rounds at Hogwarts because I've already received letters asking some of these questions. I find this little Q&A game interesting and fun and thought I'd write you one too :)
5. What is the song you most associate to them? &
11. What is an item of clothing/an accessory that completes them/makes them feel safe?
I hope you don't mind and it's not too sudden.
Kind regards,
Gwen
So nice to hear from you again, Gwen! I hope that you've been well and are staying warm in this chilly weather. I'm so glad that you are enjoying the licorice candy I sent you! I will likely have more to share with you soon, as my father's associate in the states gets a kick out of sending "coal" for Christmas.
A scroll of questions, you say? Sounds like fun to me. I'm game!
Let's see. A song associated with me? Well I think everyone associates me with Show 'Em (What You're Made Of) by Backstreet Boys after that karaoke house party in the transfiguration courtyard. It's a good song and I think all of us can relate honestly. And who knew I could sing! Haha. Maybe you can join us next time, too!
What clothing item or accessory completes me or makes me feel safe? Hmm. Well, I'd say the scarab amulet my brother gave me, but it's not really a part of my wardrobe. I'm not really particularly attached to any clothing items, but I suppose the ribbon I use to tie my hair would easily fit this. When my hair isn't tied back I still carry it with me. I guess it gives me a sense of security to know I'm prepared in case I would need it.
Thank you for asking! And don't worry! You're always welcome to send me an owl. Don't be a stranger!
Warm regards,
Hellendil

somehow I keep losing villagers (possibly to the killer) so I finally figured out how to give them bread so they have sexy time... im over here forgetting the basic mechanics of the game like the fact you have to bake bricks and feed your villagers if you want more of them 😔 to be fair there are 4000 different mechanics

help what is dmlx. I read the words vampire fic and now I need to know
omg ok so!!! dmlx is dimilix which is the pairing of dimitri & felix from the game fire emblem three houses! basically they’re former childhood best friends who are on bad terms after a Tragic Incident when they were like twelve & several years later a war brings them back together - in some games they’re on the same side and in some they aren’t :-)
they’re extremely cringe (affectionate) and still care abt each other so much even when they’re fighting that it’s like. painful to watch like it’s so ridiculous!!! their relationship has so many layers it makes me crazy and their pining abilities are nigh unmatched
the extremely good vampire au fic is the shade of the morning sun by @pirdmystery! i am completely enchanted by it
