hi i finished reading the shining force novel. translation is still not done, at some point i just started reading ahead to know the whole plot before going back to translating, but i did get to a good chunk of chapter 2 so i have a lot to post already. I hope to start posting this week but it is a busy time for me so i don't know how it will go.

I. Have been rewriting this post for hours because there's a lot I want to say, there's a lot i enjoyed but also a lot I want to criticize to death, you know how i am, if I can still rant about SF2's ending after decades imagine what i can do about a novel lol. Hi guys :') To my followers and tumblr friends, I'm really sorry if my sudden disappearance scared or upset you. It wasn't quite... planned. And today was a busy day and I needed some time to consider what I wanted to do.

Short version of the story:

My tumblr account got terminated for copyright infringement. A certain Mr. Green got me in unlucky trouble (ref 1, 2).

I won't get it back, or try to get it back. It's gone.

Needed a moment to consider 2 options: ask Mia to extend my dramatic farewell letter and stay gone, or make a new blog.

Not planning to post new writing here. I won't be using words like 'never' or 'forever' because I'm a known clown with things like this, but the intention is to no longer post fics. I will finish Tickletober on AO3 and then take a break from writing. So yes, I cancel the swiftscribbles event too, sorry!

When I opened my laptop, I could see my old blog in its final hour lmao (I found out about the loss on my phone). So that's what the snap is from on a fitting grave. It was fun while it lasted!

Long version of the story:

Losing my blog(s): My Tumblr account with main blog + sideblogs got terminated overnight, it was quite the surprise! I've either been reported or tracked by bots. The posts are a bunch of numbered URLs I can't open, but the message is clear: for including anime content, genshin impact or media from other sources (whether it's videos, screenshots, official art, gifs or even fanwork) you technically can get a strike. Upon googling the claimer I quickly found this first, and knew it was a lost cause. Although it feels shitty and unlucky, I am in no place to appeal. It's like when I used to make AMVs in the past, you never knew whether a song or even anime footage was going to give your YT account a copyright strike or even a ban, it was a gamble. I have lost YT accounts before, and now I lost the Tumblr one. With 7+ years of tickle trash content and a bunch of sideblogs. But oh well, moving on!

Starting a new blog: It was a serious consideration whether this was my ultimate chance to do what I've always said I wanted to do eventually - quit my blog. My first thought was to ask Mia to share my explanation and literal goodbye with you guys, and stick to my chaos of a Twitter account to indulge in fandom stuff. But then I thought of how happy Tumblr made me, even without the fic writing, but just.. reblogging things, getting random asks, shouting about life and of course, about tickles. I decided to make a new blog after all, but also decided the following:

The 7K+ milestone swiftscribbles event is cancelled, for which I apologize! The follower milestone, together with the motivation to write the fics, and even the asks with the requests I got, all died with my former blog.

I will see how long I can survive without posting a new fic or drabble. A loose headcanon or two might fly around sometime. And if necessary, a link to a new fic on AO3.

Tickletober? Hell yes I'll finish it, I would cringe in bed for 49 days at least if I would stop. I just won't post the fics here, but on AO3.

Reposting/reblogging my old works? Undecided at the moment but I'm tired and lazy. I don't feel too upset since most of my fics are still on AO3 at least and not completely gone.

Anyways, I'll see what happens and how long I can enjoy this nerfed version of blogging.

Surprisingly I'm not upset about losing my other blog, there were a lot of memories but it was also very cringe. I'm gonna be just as cringe here, but at least I feel cleansed.

tracklist & my reasons for the songs below the cut :) (half & coward montblanc excluded because i believe those to not be about hinako and kazui's relationship)

little lies - fleetwood mac: i feel like this is almost too obvious to explain. i know the song is technically about falling out of love, but the lyrics fit way too well with their relationship. this is from hinako's perspective, she wants to believe that kazui is genuine, but she slowly realizes that somethint is off. this song encapsulates their dynamic to me. tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies... oh no no, you can't disguise... [].

little soldiers - the crane wives: "and i dragged you through every room inside our home, but you still held me at night" and "i swear that i loved you, i swear that you loved me". hinako works herself to the bone for this relationship to work, so does kazui, they don't surrender, they want to win against the social norms. but they can't. no matter what, they can't do it, and they tear each other apart.

cat - milgram: yeah

have to explode - the mountain goats: "someone's gonna do something someone else is gonna regret". this whole song is so somber and sad but you know the singer and their partner are going to have a terrible fallout. it's all so bleak. hinako and kazui are going to have that argument, and hinako's going to fall.

time - aliceband: "will you remember me in years to come?/or am i just a seed, and please be fine/'cause i hate this lying all the time/and i would kill myself if i thought i'd go somewhere better/but this is it/we are in hell, we are in pain/and i will suffer with you"

second hand news - fleetwood mac: a song about the singer's lover finding someone new to love and the singer leaving. take that as you will.. hinako pov :)

angeleyes - abba: lyrics don't really fit their relationship but they do fit eerily well with the entirety of the cat mv (i made an amv of it. Perhaps.)

leaving home ain't easy - queen: "stay, my love, please stay" - this line always makes me think of the moments before hinako's death. a lot of singled out lyrics really fit their relationship imo..

i want you to love me - fiona apple: hinako pov. need i say more. a woman raised in a society that expects her to be the perfect wife and she finds the perfect guy but he doesn't love her. not quite.

neo-neon - deco*27: yeah.. (both of t2 kazui songs feel like they are sung to hinako imo)

the winner takes it all - abba: feel like i don't even need to explain myself just listen to it man

drowse - queen: a song about goodbye and love fading away... and remembering what used to be happiness... do you think kazui ever looked back on the happy days with hinako and felt like the worst man on earth

butterfly - weezer: sorry for weezer. "sorry for what i did" MORE GUILT!!!!

another heart breaks - elo: just a good, moody, calm song that i feel would, if milgram was a movie, play in the days after hinako's death

the man with the child in his eyes - kate bush: something about kazui constantly reminiscing about his childhood, wanting to not grow up, wanting to be young and irresponsible forever. hinako pov.. meeting him and seeing that child in him

the stranger - billy joel: "you never let your lover see the stranger in yourself". self-explanatory? kazui never told hinako the truth until... well.

left-handed kisses - andrew bird: a song about two people falling in love. there's a lingering sadness in it, almost like they're both kind of unmotivated.

a day late for me (and technically the final piece here is still a wip but idc) but here's my 2023 year in review! The first year I've drawn in over a decade and I'm ridiculously happy that somehow i drew something EVERY month. ★｡･:*:･ﾟ☆ So, back in July... I mentioned I had a PIC-related gift to share with you all. This is what I was talking about. It's an official playlist that I have had SO much fun filling for the past TWO YEARS.

Yes, I started making this playlist in April 2021. I have waited a LONG time to finally release this to the world. Of course, I don't own a single song (I'm very not good at making music LOL) BUT!!! Every song has a relation to Partners In Crime in my head somehow.

Let me explain.

EVERY SONG in this playlist is in it for a reason. This may because of a SINGLE line, a SINGLE quote, a SINGLE strange reference. OR, it may fit the story SO well that it encapsulates the events of an entire scene, chapter, or heck, the ENTIRE comic. And yes, there are one or two songs I put in there that I listened to and went; "... oh my goodness. This is literally the entire comic. I can animate this." And I have not gotten around to animating them yet, because I do not have an iPad, but I WILL ABSOLUTELY BE MAKING SOME AMVs IN THE FUTURE. I GUARANTEE YOU.

NOT EVERY SONG in this playlist is entirely accurate to the story. What I mean by this; there are some songs, like I mentioned, that only relate to PIC through one line of dialogue. This may allude to the fact that the rest of the song has no correlation to PIC AT ALL. But of course...

The reason for the addition of the first song... is a bit of a long story. The short version of the story is this; on the 7th of November, 2020, I was listening to that song at a friend's house... and the idea of the comic came to me. Technically, Partners In Crime by Set It Off is the main reason this comic exists. Does this mean the entire story relates to the storyline of that song? I can confirm that while there are similarities, NO. My comic will not end the same way that the song does. If you haven't heard it before, I highly recommend it XDDD

I STILL UPDATE THIS PLAYLIST REGULARLY!!! If I hear a song that somehow relates to PIC, I will not hesitate to add it. So check in every so often to see if it's grown bigger!

YES, SOME OF THESE SONGS MAY SEEM VERY RANDOM. I can assure you that by the end of the comic, most of them will make a lot of sense contextually. Like I said, every song is in it for a reason. But for spoiler reasons, I won’t be sharing why some of these songs are there – some of them MAY imply future events. That’s all I’ll say ^^

Images from this years Kumoricon 2023! Portland is such a fun city, and my good friends Deb & Brian drove down from Seattle to hang out for the weekend. I got to meet voice actors Dani Chambers and J. Michael Tatum (he's really TALL by the way!). Happy to see RWBY cosplay still out there in the wild (Ruby Rose, Blake Belladonna) as well as Old and New Vash the Stampede. Even some Barbie cosplay! I flew out on Thursday to PDX (after several delays and a VERY bumpy ride until we passed the Rockies), at lunch at PDX in the same bar & grill at PDX (Hopworks) with the same bartender, whom I greeted. I then went straight to the Oregon State Convention Center after a quick ride on the Red MAX Line Train (light rail). It was late enough in the day that I was able to check into my hotel room at the Hyatt Regency without delay. I dropped off my things and promptly got on TriMet Bus #77 to the local Safeway grocery store, and came back with 2 six packs of PNW craft brew in tow and some distilled water for my CPAP. I got snacky late at night and had a Tuna Poke Bowl at the hotel bar in the Lobby, then I went back upstairs and binged Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix on my iPad until like 4am, then snoozed for a few hours before getting up for the breakfast buffet to start my day at the con. Unfortunately the viewing room had technical issues so some of the anime content I wanted to watch I couldn't at the scheduled times, which was annoying. I got to meet Dani Chambers and had her autograph a character print of a Chibi version of Chise from Ancient Magus Bride, then had a California chicken sandwich at Red Robin and then met my friends at the hotel. They had to go to pick up their badges so I got in line for the AMV Contest screening. It took my friends 2.5 HOURS to clear registration, which was a nightmare. Deb ended up catching only the final category, so we made time to watch the encore AMV Contest screening Sunday morning. They went back to Seattle on Sunday after lunch but I attended the AMV Contest Winners reveal screening which was also fun. We did at least watch the AMV Aftershow on Saturday before grabbing dinner at the hotel restaurant. We watched Kaze-san and Morning Glories (English Dub) in the viewing room Friday evening then went out separate ways. Saturday we did shopping in the Dealer's Room/Artist Alley, then took the Blue MAX Line train over into the West bank side of Portland. We had a sushi lunch then appetizers at Deschutes Brewery (a Portland institution!) then rode the streetcar back to catch the Red MAX Line train back to the hotel. We attended a panel called Laugh Out Loud AMVs that was actually more like a game show and not very good. We did get a few laughs at the end but we kinda wish the whole panel had been that way. We got some to-go dinners from Burgertime and unfortunately Deb & Brian were pooped out and retired to their room while I attended the AMV Classics panel which was GREAT. All in all, it was a great trip and I still love Kumoricon (my 2nd time, back to back) and I really like Portland, Oregon. It's probably one of my favorite out of state cons now. I even worked up the courage to Cosplay as Lum's Dad from Urusei Yatsura. Not the best, I know, but best I could throw together as an amateur on my budget. I did that Friday when the weather was best.

Pandora Hearts Month 2022 (REDO) Prompts!

I have recently learned that the @phmonth2022 blog is experiencing some technical difficulties—and has for longer, and a greater extent, than I realized. I don't get notifications properly, I don't get notified at all if people tag the blog, my posts don't show up in site's tags, and it seems you have to click on the blog itself to see any of its posts.

It seems as though a number of people who wanted to participate in Phmonth22 in May/June...never saw the posts about it.

This means that we will now be doing a redo of Pandora Hearts Month 2022!

My dear Brainrot and Roman Empire: 

Almost finished playing BG3 and absolutely loved it despite all bugs, problems and mistakes. But one thought keep troubling me after revealing past of the Emperor and how touching his relationship seems to be with Ansur.

Guys, I'm serious, I need AMV, because these two being lovers or just written in stars legendary bromance, they have major vibe Arcade and Saturno. Honestly, they have too little time on screen, but it felt, all those pears were just perfect. 

There is so little content in this fandom for me personally on  many things, like Raphael and Tav as worthy combatants and all tension between them (I just can’t help myself), the story between Hope and Raphael, all his sayings about Tav in diaries, Haarlep being most iconic all the time (I need him and Raphael doing that barbie prison posing, because despite being smart he prefers being the best bimbo in the world and material girl, I can’t help but just adore him), sweet sweet Withers (my baby, my baby, you're my baby, say it to me), him, who, with his little riddles and simple phrases, just hanging around kept my/Tav's faith and sanity in check, because when you watch almost everything Laezel believed in turn against her, Gale being forced to kill herself by his ex-lover/his goddess, Shadowheart stuck between Shar's foggy future and Selunite's past, Arabella's parenrs, Astarion with all his baggage, Will with Mizora and his father, Karlach with a sick heart, so you come to him broken and still find some kind of stability and desire to keep going, thinking you're still doing right - well, doing everything that Scratch could not say, but always wanted - Stoney and Boney being my most healthy comfies (If I ever enter into a relationship, then let it be like this).

I almost cried at Jaheira story with her husband(I have utmost respect to him), Minsc and Astarion bro duo - is my favorite, despite i always enjoyed sarcastic banter between Astarion, Gale, Shadowheart and sometimes Lae'zel, then Jaheira and Minthara came - that moment I needed to stop all quests lines and just listen to them talking, then came Minsc and Boo and I fall, recruiting Minsc was one ofthe best decision in the whole game, and so on.

In the camp in the third act, I caught myself thinking that, I don’t have to glue them together, they can now stick together and communicate without me. I just look at them and my eyes rejoice, my dear babies, my big broken family, I will do everything to make you happy, safe and sound (also had a bug that the whole camp was hanging around with me, so this ralks in-between often made my day a day). I'm one step away from actually starting to make content, because AAAAAA what are you doing to me?

But Ansur and the Emperor became my roman Empire. I don’t care about the nature of their relationship, because whatever they are for each other, their devotion, their common  past and non-romantic intimacy, understanding and knowledge of certain traits, it’s as if they have their own language.  

Ansur’s despair, although he was there almost until the very end - I’m just AAA, oh glass, my favorite tasty glass. I can’t even imagine how hard it was for both of them not only to meet in person, but also the absurdity of finally seeing the corpse of their dear comrade. And although only one of them is technically undead, both are essentially looking at the corpse of their former friendship.

I can’t even express in words how much I feel about this. And it seems to me personally that for some reason Ansur knows that Tav and their group of adventurers will be able to overcome what Ansur could not prevent a long time ago, which is why he fights so hard. I just can’t bear this resentment, this bitterness, this story with all the little pieces that were shown to us.  Someone do it, please

Sns are japanese tho

“SNS” being Japanese as in the characters being created in Japan by Kishimoto, who is Japanese? Yes.

Or “SNS” being Japanese as in that the characters are actually Japanese? Debatable. If we’re going to get technical, Naruto and all characters related to this show are from a fictional place. Konoha doesn’t exist. But as far as comparisons to the real world are concerned, yes. They’re Japanese, as the original characters speak Japanese and their culture is closely related to that of Japan.

However, I assume that you are referring to the Brazilian amv? It’s a very pretty and well made homage to the SNS ship. It’s like a visual representation of an AU fanfic but instead of the setting being high school/coffee shop barista/lawyer/mechanic/whatever in the US/Europe, it’s set in Brazil. I think it’s a gorgeous representation of how this ship inspires people all over the world. It transcends cultural barriers, because what SNS has is universally beautiful.

Man I just… think about how weirdly well animated that first bit is. And also, as any, is a good introduction to the show. 

'But won't people think it's like, really weird and jarring and bizarre and just… makes no sense to have this here with NO build or lead up?'

This is what I meant by 'I can't really recommend this show on an episode to episode basis' because the entire show is just LIKE THIS. Yeah there's SOME connective tissue here and there but the entire thing is a fever dream concocted by 'this is what happens when you give a group of people concept art and then like, six months to write season 1'. 

These people didn't even have a lore bible. 

Let that sink in.

But I really do THINK a lot about that even 'some people planning a freakazoid fic among a group of friends and quickly writing it in a doc' is technically possibly more lore work than they did on the show. And that's not derogatory to the show, just in the sense of 'man I think about that. A lot'. 

Also something I think about a lot is the amount of times* I've seen people use that beginning segment for like… a really serious AMV and then casually cut out the context of 'this is a bit about the weather'. 

*Which technically isn't a lot given how small the fandom is, but enough to be kind of a trend. Also very aware that AMVs in general can change the context in which a scene is viewed– that's the whole bit behind AMV Hell, after all (does anyone here remember that??). It's less derogatory and more 'because I know the context of this scene it's just funny to me'.

10-29 (CST) Candy Space

This was an informal Twitter space discussing candy hosted by Bluebird. The space was in two parts due to technical difficulties: [part 1] [part 2]

Gong Jun went through the Douyin accounts he was following a couple days ago and unfollowed 31 accounts. The account for Begin Again (a show Gong Jun starred in) was deactived recently, meaning it only appeared as the UID sequence. Gong Jun is still following Zhang Zhehan’s deactivated account, meaning he was able to differentiate it from the Begin Again account.

If you count the number of accounts Gong Jun is following on Weibo, it’s one more than what the number appears as, meaning he’s likely still following Zhang Zhehan’s deactivated account there as well. He also still has not deleted any of his posts mentioning Zhang Zhehan.

Gong Jun has distanced himself online from other celebrities who have gotten in trouble, likewise with brands he previously endorsed (ex. YAMAN).

Most celebrities address their fans by their official fandom name—Gong Jun has not since Word of Honor aired. There have been some times he’s specifically thanked “junweixian and my fans”, intentionally including CPFs despite not bring able to mention them directly, and recently he hasn’t specified junweixian at all.

A lot of (non-toxic) haizhe seem to have given up the fight against CPFs and just accepted it. 😂

In C-ent, CPs are usually promoted while a drama is airing, then once it’s over the CP is broken, as everyone expects them to. That fact that Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan didn’t break CP and STILL haven’t is remarkable. As well, the degree of what they were doing “to promote CP” is much more than normal (ex. kadians). As an aside, Gong Jun has not promoted a CP since Word of Honor.

When you share the song from Gong Jun’s most recent Douyin on WeChat, an AMV for Kimi no Na wa plays. The movie was mentioned by Zhang Zhehan when they were filming the “there’s a light on you” shot in Word of Honor, and Gong Jun’s Weibo header is also a shot from the movie.

Gong Jun seems to be aware of even really small rumors about himself, he mentioned one in a recent interview that was only discussed by a couple people (him going to the gym at 3AM).

Valentine’s Day 2022: Gong Jun posted at 11:29, 13:14 (”forever”), and 13:15 (511), posting a photo of himself in almost the same spot as one of Zhang Zhehan’s past pictures, with the same caption he used on his Valentine’s post in 2021.

Last year, a couple weeks after the duck intestines post, Gong Jun liked a douyin of a Mr Bean clip where Mr Bean points a finger gun to the left, then he liked a douyin about how to cook duck intestines, then another douyin of the same Mr Bean clip mirrored so it pointed to the right. tl;dr the Mr Bean clips pointed to the duck intestines. Context: Gong Jun said the dish he posted a photo of was cooked by an “ahyi” who was living with him in Hengdian.

Tenet: There’s a Word of Honor bts clip where Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan discussed going to see the movie Tenet where Gong Jun bragged about having an IMAX black diamond VIP card, then there was another clip recently released by Real1640 where Zhang Zhehan sajiao-ed about wanting Gong Jun to take him to it. This is quite old candy, as fans have figured out they went to see it during a day off filming in September. In the Hogan livestream on Monday, Gong Jun was asked what his favourite sci-fi movie is and he said “Director Nolan’s Ten—” then cut off, smiled, and said “Nolan’s movies.”

Gong Jun is usually very smart in interviews and livestreams (unless Zhang Zhehan is present), and has said before that anything he “lets slip” was said intentionally.

不想匿名 (Don’t Want to Be Anonymous) Zhihu account:  -  It is not known who runs this account and therefore it should be taken with a large grain of salt, but so far it has not caused trouble, disparaged their characters, pushed any agenda, or announced itself openly.  -  The account started posting pictures on February 13th with captions that were very in the style of Gong Jun or Zhang Zhehan, and features visible in photos made people wonder if it’s them. Pictures are of sunsets, windmills, the frog plushie, food, CP elements, etc.  -  The account is hugely contested in the Chinese fandom, some people will instant-block you for posting about it. The international side is generally wary of it—if the account does something suspicious, it’s gone.  -  It often posts after Xie Yihua and co. do something, sometimes in passive aggressive ways. On the day the Instagram changed its pfp, this account temporarily changed its own pfp to the Will Smith Oscar slap.  -  A recent post was the same dish that Zhang Zhehan cooked very badly on Taste of Time in 2018 on the anniversary of him cooking that. This photo looked much better made.  -  Toxics attacked and tried to discredit the account by spreading fake screenshots of a CPF admitting to running it. Most people didn’t take the account seriously until the Instagram and toxics tried to discredit it.  -  The account has been half-muted by Zhihu, meaning only people who had commented on their posts before that can see their posts.

11. Who do you think is the most underrated character?

i feel like in the fandom theres always at least a small group of people who appreciate each character but i will say this. nana rose is so so crazy and people dont discuss it enough i love her shes so much fun and ive always adored her scenes with cheryl i think theyre the realest grandma and granddaughter who hang out duo of all of television history and i will admit i've felt moved anytime we see them drinking cups of tea together and shooting the breeze talking about how she's technically senile or whatever. nana blossom is literally frenemies with her own granddaughter she is at least as forever as hiram but women in history remain unforevered

14. Which AMV is your favorite?

bodys amv you have to be careful with that one can only watch it every once in a while it's crazy + i think it's so well done and timed it looks really great. this was such a hard question because every riverdale amv can take a different tone and highlight something different from the show and there's so so many good ones and i feel like im always reblogging jughead slim shady and core four forever half mast and percival pickens you need to calm down
