he also makes sure to ask for consent before holding your hand or kissing you, no matter how long you two are dating
date nights with tokoyami also never get boring, as he always has something new in mind!
some nights, he'll take you for a flight over the city and you two eat take out high up on a roof
other nights, you'll be in his room and he'll read you poems and love songs that he wrote for you
and sometimes, you also watch a movie or cook together!
when the two of you are alone, tokoyami always keeps a respectful distance, as he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable
tokoyami also let's you win during training, if you happen to be in his class – even if you tell him not to!
he also has a ton of corny pet names for you, ranging from "my love" to "princess" or "handsome" to "angel" or "hummingbird"
and let's not forget about dark shadow!
he's always around the two of you and he's fond of you as well, always trying to help tokoyami out with you
he's practically tokoyami's wing man when it comes to you!
dark shadow is your biggest fan and he'll always make sure that your relationship with tokoyami is going smooth!

So recently I have been on a huge tabletop RPG kick so I thought it would be fun to talk about Class 1-A playing their own tabletop game, both the characters they'd play and how they'd be as players. For the sake of this, I will be writing in the context of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition since that's the system myself and others would be the most familiar with.
Tumblr media
Rikido Sato: Half Orc Life Cleric Doesn't really get the game too much. Tends to forget the rules a lot and his own abilities. Just kind of picked a class at random. Is the king of bringing snacks and the like, all of which are homemade.
Mashirao Ojiro: Wood Elf Open Hand Monk Pretty average in all respects as a player. Not too remarkable in all respects. Doesn't realized how bad the monk is until they started playing, but is too attached to the character and their concept.
Koji Koda: Firbolg Shepard Druid Is only really here to hang out with his friends. Too shy to really do any roleplay with the rest of the gang, mostly doing small moments with his animals friends. Accidently made an overpowered build.
Minoru Mineta: Dhampir Phantom Rogue Knows the rules, but is a power gamer. Uses the game more as a power fantasy to look as cool as possible at all times, even if it is dumb, though will quickly panic if anything goes slightly wrong.
Hanta Sero: Gith Horizon Walker Ranger Really interested in all the lore and history of whatever the dungeon master came up with. The kind that dungeon masters either love or dread. Is the one constantly asking question and cracking the odd joke about it.
Toru Hagakure: Changeling Arcane Trickster Rogue Super big into the roleplay of it all and is always excited. Mostly took Changeling so she'd have the excess to play as many roles as possible. Probably makes little masks to remind people who she currently is.
Yuga Aoyama: Aasimar Glory Paladin Is insanely devoted to the role of the noble paladin, much to the detriment of everyone else. Likely says the line "But it's what my character would do more then any other player. Constantly hints at a backstory that nobody is biting on.
Mezo Shoji: Hobgoblin Gloomstalker Ranger Not the biggest into roleplay, does fairly well with the actual gameplay. Plays the typically reserved ranged. Tried to tie his and Koda's backstory together to try and take some of the stress off of him in terms of roleplaying.
Kyoka Jiro: Half Elf Whispers Bard Wasn't really sure about all of this before play and went with a bard because she liked the idea of playing music. It was a rocky start, but quickly got into it and started having fun. Will make custom songs and playlists for the party, as well ambient tracks and battle music.
Denki Kaminari: Air Genesi Storm Sorcerer Wanted to try it out because it was popular. Went with something he thought was cool and did not expect it to be so complicated. Needs to be constantly handed the book and remined of the rules in order to make sure he gets it. The amount of math hurts his head. Eijiro Kirishima: Goliath Giant Barbarian Like Denki, wanted to get into because it was popular. Bakugou helped a lot with building the character. Has a lot of fun smashing stuff. Plays his role pretty well, even if his character doesn't go beyond the nice brute whose name is very close to Kirishima's own.
Mina Ashido: Satyr Glamour Bard One of the students the most into the roleplaying. Is very light hearted and goofy about the whole thing. Can play a lot in bard stereotypes because she thinks it's funny. Another instigator, though mostly from her getting too into character at the worst of times. Fumikage Tokoyami: Tiefling Fiend Warlock Has been playing the game the longest and super familiar with all of it. Always makes characters he thinks are "cool", which means are super gothic and depress, both in class and in race. Does occasionally have Dark Shadow dress up and roleplay as his patron. Ochako Uraraka: Fairy Zealot Barbarian Ochako just wants to smash stuff. She has a lot of fun rolling dice and doing cool stuff with her friends, both good and bad. Likes playing the typically pixie before going nuts. Can be an instigator, but tends to backtrack when she realizes just how badly it goes wrong. Tsuyu Asui: Halfling Moon Druid Like Koda, is mostly here to have fun with friends. Often plays mediator both in and out of character. Does a good job with roleplaying thanks to how much she had to play pretend with her simplies. Always causes a riot whenever she becomes a dinosaur. Shoto Todoroki: Hill Dwarf Fighter Champion One of the worst players both in game and in roleplay. Played a character Izuku basically made for him. Is somehow still one of the best because he is constantly getting amazing rolls at the most critical moments, much to the frustration of Bakugou.
Katsuki Bakugo: Custom Lineage Chronurgy Wizard Powergamer, no question. He knows the rules back and forth to make the most broken build possible. Acts like D&D is a game you can win, even when it comes to roleplaying. Not a full on murder hobo, but by far the biggest instigator in the group.
Tenya Iida: Warforged Devotion Paladin Very much devoted to the rules, both in and out of the game. Gets confused when people say that he's doing a good job at playing a robot. Collects a lot of dice. One of the best Dungeon Masters of any of the students, though can be rather controlling at times. Momo Yaoyorozu: High Elf Forge Cleric A really good player with the rules though can be pretty awkward with the roleplay with how much she tries to get into it. One of the best DMs in the class. Makes custom miniatures for everyone in the party. Puts a lot of money to make the ultimate game room. Izuku Midoriya: Variant Human Bladesinging Wizard The perfect player. Knows the roles, but focuses more on making characters. Takes the most notes, pay attention, and makes sure everyone is having fun and feels included. Likely gets roped into the role of dungeon master more then anyone else because of these reasons.

On Heteromorphs & Heteromorphobia (Arcs VI - X , Hero Killer to Provisional License Exam)
(This post will also cover the bonus chapter “Tsuyu's Ribbity Diary.”)
Thank you all for your amazing response to last week's post, my goodness! I thought I'd found about all the audience I was likely to get for my harping about heteromorphic discrimination, so I was delighted to see a number of new names!
I do have to warn you all, if you haven't done much looking into my archives, that I'm pretty critical of BNHA these days, especially of the ways it insists on holding up individualistic solutions to problems clearly established as systemic in nature. That will become more apparent when I get into the post-war material, as the endgame is absolutely rotten with it.
This week, though, we'll start by getting out of the school to get a look at signs of and contributors to heteromorphobia in the wider world.
The Vs. Hero Killer Arc (Chapters 45-59)
Chapter 45:
Mina’s preferred alias, Alien Queen, in reference to the Xenomorph queen from the Aliens franchise, is turned down by Midnight.  The reason for this is never made especially clear.  Class 1-B gets away with a number of villainous or monstrous hero names, like Phantom Thief and Gevaudan, violent ones like Battle Fist, even an animal reference in Jack Mantis.  But Mina, for whatever reason, gets pushed towards the indescribably twee Pinky instead.  Does Midnight the R-rated hero not think girls should get to have hero names with some edge?  Surely not; her entire persona is based on titillation.  Length is clearly not a factor, given that Midnight personally approves Can’t Stop Twinkling. I don’t know exactly what went down here (from a Watsonian perspective, that is; the Doylist guesses are readily apparent and all eyeroll-inducing), so I will simply point out that a non-baseline gal wanted to name herself after a famous monster with acidic blood and was pressured into going with something cutesy based on her skin color instead.  Bakugou’s choice gets turned down as well,[1] but he actually has “murder,” like, right there in the name; Alien Queen is quite roundabout by comparison!
Chapter 48:
Introduction of Uwabami, the Pro Hero gal with the head snakes.  She’s a bit of a weird case.  Given that all we know she does is find hidden people using the snakes’ keen senses, do they have some self-awareness that makes them able to communicate with her—a case somewhat like Tokoyami and Dark Shadow, perhaps?  Does she just tap into their senses at will rather than being able to speak to them?  Or are they rather just extensions of herself, with no particular consciousness of their own, and they function like what must be a fairly dizzying array of extra-sensory perception that she receives at all times?     Whatever the case, she’s a model and celebrity, and thus our first clear example of a heteromorph who doesn’t seem to suffer for her looks. Her looks are, of course, quite accentuated, given that her hero costume is a low-cut evening dress with a slit in the side up to her hip.  Other than the hair-serpents, she’s a baseline woman who checks all the boxes for modern beauty standards; she will serve in this fashion as a good predictor of other highly ranked heteromorphic Heroes.
Chapter 51+55:
Endeavor, as will be made clear in Chapter 55, doesn’t really have any idea what the Noumu’s deal is.  As far as he knows, it’s just like any other villain—and yet in Chapter 51, he opens up with an attack that bathes the Noumu in flame anyway, and comments in 55 that he’s never known anyone to remain conscious after such an attack.  While I think this mostly speaks to the general brutality with which villains are treated by heroes—much different from standard police practice in real-life Japan!—it’s nonetheless notable that the Noumu he attacked with such casual ferocity certainly doesn’t look very baseline to the casual eye, between the exposed brain, the significant height, and the crawling movement.
Chapter 56:
Midoriya is startled by Chief Tsuragamae’s “woof” interjections.  He doesn’t comment on it out loud, so I’m not inclined to hold it against him (not like someone else I’m about to bring up), but it wouldn't be the first time he’s come across this kind of vocalization: Tsuyu makes ribbit noises pretty frequently.
Tsuragamae notes that the authorization of a certain class of people, called “heroes,” to weaponize their quirks against others was initially a heavily criticized decision, one which only garnered public support because those original heroes were careful to always obey the laws dictating the circumstances in which they used their quirks.  He goes on to say, of using one’s quirk to inflict harm without explicit instruction from the powers-that-be, “Such action would represent a stunning breach of law.”  Like Thirteen before him, he completely omits any mention of how such laws disproportionately affect heteromorphs, who can’t turn off a permanent physical trait, and, particularly in cases of people whose entire bodies are divergent, have little choice in whether or not to use their quirk in any sort of physical altercation that might lead to harm.
Shouto, angry over what he perceives as punishment for a good deed, calls Tsuragamae a mutt.  The chief doesn’t react particularly strongly to this, but as the chief of police, you have to imagine he’s pretty used to the slings and arrows of public opinion.  The incident passes without comment, but it will not be the last time we hear a Todoroki derisively referring to another human being as an animal.
Tumblr media
There are some sweatdrops and exhortations to get the kid to cool it, but those were ongoing before the animal words came out.
Chapter 57:
Gran Torino notes that the age they live in, for better or for worse, is one of suppression, and that the situation with Stain and the League will draw people out who are influenced by that ideology.  Gran doesn’t elaborate on exactly what sorts of people he has in mind—All Might says only, “Then heroes will deal with them,”—but it’s an early hint that there are people in this society who feel unjustly suppressed.  Crucially, Gran Torino doesn’t even necessarily think those people are wrong; he just thinks it’s a necessary evil.  But what, exactly, is it that he’s grudgingly accepting as inevitable for the sake of maintaining the status quo?  And how might his circumstances need to differ for him to have a different opinion?
In Chapter 27, we learned that producing support goods requires a government license; here we find out, courtesy of Giran, that dealing in and producing support goods without such a license is a major crime.  So if you, for any reason, failed that “rigorous examination” to get cleared for support goods for quality-of-life reasons, you’re unlikely to find someone who’ll just provide them to you out of sympathy provided you keep quiet about where you got them.  Instead, you have little choice but to turn to black market brokers—all because the government doesn’t think your quirk is affecting you negatively enough to qualify you for support equipment.     Again, this isn’t specifically about heteromorphs, but someone having an emitter quirk they can’t control well who needs the support item because they are choosing to pursue a career requiring them to learn that control is a very different case than someone who needs government support because of an immutable, always-on physical trait.
This chapter contains the first appearances of both Gigantomachia and Spinner, both fairly extreme heteromorphs: Machia for his size and rocky hide, and Spinner for animal traits considerably more prominent than e.g. Tokoyami’s bird head or even Tsuyu’s conglomeration of mildly froggy traits.  Indeed, Spinner’s heteromorphic traits are so much more prominent than something like Jirou’s earlobes that it hardly seems accurate to even categorize their bodies the same way.
The sidebar for Daikaku Miyagi, the anchorman with the quirk that gave him two big horns who amputated one so that it would be less in the way during newscasts and other things that required there to be a camera on him.  This in and of itself wouldn’t necessarily be notable, save that the same extra goes on to describe how the decision garnered some backlash from “a certain human rights group” who said that decisions like his fostered discrimination and were linked to the rejection of quirk-based society on the whole.  Horikoshi further notes that he enjoys thinking about the lives and stories behind minor characters—even this far back, then, three and a half years before the introduction of the CRC, we have concrete evidence that the author was thinking about quirk-based discrimination and the politicization of heteromorphic features.
Chapter 59:
All Might drops some exposition about the Advent of the Exceptional, during which we see an image of a crowd full of implied-quirkless people holding up signs proclaiming their humanity and the monstrosity of those with quirks.  Conversely, three of the four quirked people we see have obvious physical divergence from baseline human appearance.  So from early on, that “monster” turn of phrase was heavily associated with changes in the physical appearances of those with special abilities.  Later on, the PLF advisor at the hospital will tie these two things together explicitly.
Tumblr media

The Final Exams Arc (Chapters 60-69)
Chapter 61:
Ectoplasm’s character sheet.  The teeth are creepy no matter which way you cut it, but they look much more profoundly unsettling when they’re right there on his unmasked face, as opposed to behind a black cowl, where you can let your eye fool you that they are in some way part of its design.  His hero costume, naturally, includes the cowl, but his daily clothes do not—I wonder if he ever tried to have a gentle talk with Shouji about why Shouji wears the mask even in his downtime?  I wonder even more how much the teaching staff in general, and Nedzu and Aizawa specifically, actually know about Shouji’s history.     o It’s also noted that Ecloplasm looks scary, but has received continued support after coming back to the job after losing both legs in a fight with a villain—we see this same pattern with Jeanist after Kamino.  No word on how regular his support was before the traumatic double limb loss, though.
Chapter 66:
Nedzu, we find, was “toyed with by humans in all sorts of ways in the past.”  Nothing we know about him suggests that he has any particular longevity, but his dynamic with Endeavor,[2] many chapters down the line, does suggest to me that he was at least on the staff when with Endeavor was at UA some thirty years ago.  Thirty years is within the span of All Might’s career, well after society began to stabilize with the formalization of the Hero System.  And yet, despite that, a sentient being, one with human—above human!—intelligence, was mistreated badly enough that he bears a grudge to this day.  Nedzu is, again, not in precisely the same situation as a human heteromorph, but he serves as an indicator of what humans have, even in the age of heroes, been willing to do to those they think of as “animals.”
A shot of Koda and his mother, who look much alike.  Interestingly, the biggest difference in their appearance is that she has horn-like protrusions that her son lacks.  We’re a long way from the first quirk evolutions, and even farther from Koda’s quirk evolution, but we will later see Koda’s mother specifically tie those horns to her animal communication quirk becoming more powerful.  This makes for another good piece of evidence towards Horikoshi having a grasp of heteromorphobia from early on, as the evidence is pretty good that Koda-mama got those horns as a result of a quirk evolution of her own, and those don’t happen under normal, non-stressful circumstances.  More on Koda’s parents in a bit, as they're a pretty stand-out case in another way that isn’t immediately apparent here.
Tumblr media
Can we call it foreshadowing for Koda defending Shouji at the hospital that Koda is wearing the same scarf as the main character in Horikoshi's Oumagadoki Zoo? Hmm. I'll leave that one to codenamesazanka.
Chapter 67:
A flashback panel to Mineta’s days in middle school.  While I don’t doubt that there are P L E N T Y of reasons Mineta would be unpopular with the girls in his class, it is nonetheless notable that the popular boy getting showered with attention is perfectly baseline, while Mineta and his friends are not.
Tumblr media
Note also that the cute heteromorph girl has long-ish ears and no other obvious divergent features.
Chapter 68:
Shouji and Iida are specifically called out to at the mall, trying to attract them as customers with claims that whichever storefront employee is hailing them can help them find anything they need.  Midoriya mutters to himself about the difficulties of catering to everyone, given the many different types of quirks scattered across multiple age groups.
Crowd scenes at the mall show scattered numbers of heteromorphs, a somewhat higher number than usual for such civilian crowd scenes.  The Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall is noted for being the biggest and trendiest in the prefecture, with a variety that attracts lots and lots of people, so perhaps it’s no surprise to see somewhat more heteromorphs than usual there.

The Forest Training Camp Arc (Chapters 70-83)
Chapter 70:
Introduction of the Wild Wild Pussycats.  A team of three Emitters and a Transformation-type, none of them in the slightest heteromorphic (give or take Tiger’s permanent :3 mouth), they nonetheless theme themselves after cats, including fake tails, big costume paw gloves, and cat-ear-esque headsets.  It’s cute and unobjectionable in and of itself, but I do wonder what people like e.g. Officer Sansa think of it.
Chapter 71:
Shouji is missing from the hot springs scene.  It doesn’t hugely stand out in the moment because Aoyama and Sero aren’t there either, but it does read a bit differently with the benefit of hindsight.  Given the strong possibility that Aoyama is off doing Traitor Activities and Shouji is avoiding any possibility of having to torpedo the hot springs fun-times with an explanation of that time he was savagely beaten by people in his hometown right in an open street, it kinda leaves Sero as the only one who maybe just skipped for normal reasons, like that hot springs would gunk up his tape or something.
Chapter 73:
Bakugou addresses Ojiro as “Tail”—referring to him by his heteromorphic trait.  He’s not even particularly angry at the moment; he’s just still nursing a grudge about Todoroki’s underwhelming performance in their Sports Festival match and wants to swap partners for the Test of Courage.  Early Bakugou is very much a “judge a person by their quirk” sort.
Pixie Bob ushers Tsuyu and Ochaco into the woods for their turn at the Test of Courage by referring to the latter as Uraraka-kitty and the former as Ribbit-kitty.[3]  While in the English, this reads as a baseline woman in a cat costume referring to the heteromorphic student by her animal-themed verbal tic and the baseline student by her actual name, uraraka is a fairly onomatopoeic way to say bright and cheerful.  I would guess that Pixie Bob is probably referring to Ochaco’s personality here, which makes it somewhat less egregious.  It won’t be the last time someone refers to Tsuyu via the frog sound instead of her name, though.
Chapter 75:
Mandalay telepathically compliments Spinner, calling him both cool and handsome.  While I doubt he’s the only person in the world who’d react the way he does—he blushes, gets flustered, and missteps, giving Mandalay an opportunity to attack him—the moment does get some new context when you consider how everyone called him “the lizard freak” in his hometown.  Approximately zero people calling him cool and handsome back there, one imagines!  Having it immediately turn out to be a ploy likely informs some of the outraged anger in his response.
Chapter 81:
Mandalay points out that Spinner never used his quirk during their combat, implying that she doesn’t think just his lizard-like appearance or his claws “count.”  Chalk another one up to the classification problems of “heteromorph” as a descriptive term.  This will turn out to rather neatly illustrate one of the issues I’ve been talking about with regard to the way heteromorphs are unfairly disadvantaged by the current laws about public quirk use.  Remember, a “Villain” is someone using their quirk illegally.  So if Mandalay doesn’t think Spinner used a quirk here, and since he has no record, why does he get categorized as a Villain instead of just a garden variety criminal?     Now, one could say that by associating with the League of Villains, Spinner is rather claiming the designation for himself, and we don’t know how the legal system will technically classify him, when and if he ever actually faces trial.  To that, I would say to hold the thought, because Skeptic will eventually back me up on the, “Heteromorphs are unfairly targeted by Villain designations,” claim all but word for word.
BONUS CHAPTER 1: Tsuyu’s Ribbety Diary
We meet Tsuyu’s family, all various froggy types.  They’re a cute family, but the husband and wife both being froggy kind of raises some questions about pressures that might exist about marrying your same “type,” or at least refraining from marrying anyone too obviously not.  I’d be more willing to wave it off if not for two things.      First, we get the same sort of scenario from Spinner’s character sheet, that his is “a family full of reptilian quirks.”  Second, there are very few romances in the series between someone close to “baseline” and someone with a more extreme heteromorphic appearance.  The most obvious, clear-cut, canonical example is Koda’s parents—his dad has slightly weird hair but is otherwise entirely baseline; we see him defending his wife from other peoples’ mockery.  That, of course, is a single panel limited to a flashback inside a flashback, so not exactly very visible to the reader!  The next-most significant one I can come up with is Natsuo and his mouse girlfriend, who has likewise been seen in one (1) panel, had no dialogue, and whose appearance and identity were so incidental the anime deleted her entirely.     Who’s next?  Well, if you assume all those No Comments from Kamui Woods and Mount Lady about their relationship are indicative of a relationship between them, they’d be another, though we don’t actually know what Shinji actually looks like under his mask, only the implication that it’s divergent enough that he prefers to cover his face.  Next up on my tally would be Thief Takami and Tomie, but since the sum total of Takami’s animal traits are tiny little elbow wings, you can see how fast the drop-off is there.     Compare this to the number of pairings/families we have between people of like type: Bakugou’s parents, Iida’s, Jirou’s, Aoyama’s, Tsuyu’s, Ochaco’s, Shouto’s, Toga’s, Spinner’s, and Tomura’s whole family on both sides.      Then you get the ship-teasy stuff that’s more about crushes, people dating, or hints that are perceived as pointing towards epilogue romances: Deku and Ochaco, Jirou and Kaminari, Shindo and Yo, Gentle and La Brava, Miss Joke’s flirting with Aizawa, and Toga’s variety of crushes (among which Tsuyu is the most distant from Toga’s own body type).[4]  I think Kirishima and Mina are right on that borderline, with Mina having a normal body type but a collection of minor but highly visible divergent traits.     So like, the vast, vast majority of the romantic relationships in the show are between relatively baseline people.  In that context, it sticks out like a sore thumb to me that Tsuyu and Spinner are both explicitly said to have the same type of animal heteromorph quality on both sides of their family tree.  It’s not an incest concern or anything, just that I wonder what the pressure is on cross-type couples, or what social circles look like post-graduation.
Two classmates talk about how it’s hard to tell what Tsuyu is thinking; one of them says, with her eyes hooded and a kind of cool expression, “That expression of hers never changes.  Maybe ‘cuz she’s a frog?”
Tsuyu tells us that she never really made any friends; while some of this may simply be because Tsuyu didn’t have much time to socialize, between hero training and looking after her family, it’s also true that all of her classmates that we see have baseline appearances.
This lasts until she starts getting stalked by a snake-headed heteromorph girl named Mangusu Habuko—a fellow loner.  Tsuyu is initially frightened by Habuko’s behavior, but has an intuitive sense for what the deal is, that Habuko wants to be friends but is awkward and doesn’t know how to broach it.
When asked if she wants to be friends, Habuko flips out.  She calls herself treacherous and untrustworthy; she calls Tsuyu a foolish frog and says she must be joking, and that she should choose her friends more carefully. She then immediately dissolves into tears.  Somehow, I doubt all this self-loathing about her innate nature manifested out of thin air!
The Hideout Raid Arc (Chapters 84-97)
Something that’s observable throughout this arc is that we’re in another sequence, like the Sports Festival, where the percentage of people with heteromorphic features in the crowd shots tends to run a bit higher than the norm of the series to date.  Unlike the Sports Festival, though, these crowds are just civilians, not heroes.  So what’s the difference between Kamino and the earlier on-the-street crowd scenes?     Well, the neighborhood the Noumu warehouse is in is a somewhat rougher area.  Part of the visual shorthand for that is people in edgier clothes, stuff that’s indicative of districts with bars, clubs, sleazy hangout spots, and so forth, but another shorthand is an increased number of heteromorphs.
Tumblr media
These panels are respectively from Chapters 87 and 92.
Chapter 87:
The character sheet for Kamui Woods notes that the story of his early childhood is “grand and compelling,” and that his story was made into a documentary.  That, to me, has Inspiring True Story written all over it.  Probably not coincidentally, Kamui Woods is another character whose face we’ve never seen.  As more pointing in the direction of him having a childhood marked by severe discrimination, he’s not sure of his age—it’s given as “29 since he started counting.”  So was he abandoned as an infant for his weird face?  I could come up with other explanations, all equally over the top (extreme confinement, for example, that left him unable to properly mark the passage of time), but the fact that he can’t e.g. look up a birth certificate for himself suggests that whatever went so wrong for him, it happened very early.     …Though I suppose there’s the possibility that he’s not human, but rather a tree that manifested a quirk.  As documentary-worthy origins go, though, that feels less Inspiring True Story and more Educational Biopic About Rare Phenomenon.
The Provisional Hero License Exam Arc (Chapters 98-121)
Chapter 99:
Shouji’s room is shown, all but barren.  He says that he doesn’t care much about owning things, but knowing what we come to know about his history, it’s easy to wonder if he really doesn’t care about owning things or if this is rooted in a childhood in which it was believed that anything he touched would be polluted.  Not a situation that led to him being given much of his own, one suspects!
Chapter 103:
This chapter introduces Yokumiru Mera, from the HPSC, who gives an opening statement that has some very interesting ruthlessness lurking in its subtext.  Particularly relevant to our current topic is his comment that in the modern era, the time it takes to resolve a given incident is incredibly short, so the test that year will be prioritizing speed.  Prioritizing speed (wouldn’t want some other hero to get the metaphorical kill first, after all!) is a surefire way to guarantee that heroes are not taking the time to really examine all factors in a situation or make any attempts whatsoever at calm, considered de-escalation, but rather are just making snap judgements based on their biases and gut reactions.  Guess what group of people that’s going to disproportionately impact?        o Now, it’s notable that Mera says the test prioritizes speed, but the conclusion many others come to is that the test only pretends to do so; that actually, it prioritizes care and information gathering.  Indeed, we find a few chapters later that the actual priority is teamwork, as requested by police higher-ups—the idea is to fill in the gap left behind by All Might with hero squads that work well together.[5]   However, while the intention may be to gather those good at teamwork, it certainly doesn’t stop people like Shouto and Inasa from cruising through—and, in any case, whether the groups learn teamwork or not doesn’t take away from an HPSC rep telling them to their face that speed of incident resolution is one of the most important things to a modern hero and never following that up with any kind of amendment or clarification.
Chapter 107:
Introduces the HUC, or Help Us Company, professionals trained to act as victims in disaster rescue exercises.  Given that context—what they’re communicating to students training to understand what “victims” look and act like—it’s extremely worth examining what they, well, look like.
Tumblr media
God, this is so Yikes.
And having asked that question, we find that the only people in this group that might not be baseline—the ones with short, childlike statures—are dressed to emphasize that stature.  The end effect is a crowd of “victims” with not a single heteromorphic representative.
Chapter 109:
Shiketsu’s class rep, Mora Nagamasa—the extremely hairy one—approaches Bakugou to extend an apology for Shishikura’s behavior during the exam.  It’s noticeable here that, having matured somewhat since Early Series Bakugou, and having been approached in downtime in a reasonable manner, Bakugou manages to refrain from coming up with any demeaning nicknames centered on Mora’s appearance.  Kirishima remarks internally on all the hair, but only internally; he’s much too polite to say anything out loud.
Chapter 110:
A big splashy introduction for the man ranked #3 in the Heroes Who Look Like Villains ranking, Gang Orca.  He’s at the test to play villain and is, just as noticeably as all the play-victims are baseline, a heteromorph.  At the time of his introduction, he’s ranked Number 10 in the Hero Rankings, but will be bumped out later on.  This does, however, make him the highest-ranked known heteromorph who doesn’t have a human face,[6] with the possible exception of Kamui Woods—who, like Shouji, covers it with a mask.
Gang Orca’s character sheet notes that, while he’s a popular guest at aquariums, his intimidating face and “stony personality” always result in weepy children.  He apparently finds this relatively upsetting (“lots of angst”) but, unlike Shouji or Kamui Woods, has not taken to wearing a mask, nor trying to tone down his personality on any level—to the contrary, Present Mic suggests much later on that he exaggerates it.
-----------------
Next time, I'll cover from the Shie Hassaikai arc through the end of Joint Training. Thanks for reading!
--------------------- FOOTNOTES ---------------------
[1] Initially.  He sticks to his guns long enough that he gets away with it in the end, though.
[2] The big tell is that Nedzu addresses Endeavor as Todoroki-kun rather than Todoroki-san or simply by his hero name, but his observation that Todoroki-kun has “matured” (literally in the Japanese, “become an adult”) doesn’t hurt, either.
[3] Kerokero neko and Uraraka neko.
[4] You can get further out there with this, but by the time you get to e.g. Shouto and Momo or Ojiro and Hagakure, the ice is definitely getting thinner on whether you’re seeing groundwork for future wedding bells or just reasonably close male/female friendship.  Your mileage may vary depending on how tightly attached your shipping goggles are or how cynical you are about shounen authors’ tendencies towards timeskip marriages.  Also, I can’t be bothered to dig up and list out the crushes or shipping patterns among the Class B kids. Koroiro likes the mushroom gal?
[5] Note that Mera phrases this as being merely a stopgap until they find the next All Might.  The HPSC is not so eager to change the methods they’ve come to rely on over the last thirty some-odd years!
[6] We don’t know enough for me to say for sure whether Wash is a heteromorph.

The Big 3 "educational" vist
Tumblr media
I wanted to make a part 2 of the aftermath of @lets-get-kraken-boys imagine when Big 3 found out about how Class 1a treats you cause it's so addicting and I wanna see justice!
DISCLAIMER: this concept isn't mine it goes to @lets-get-kraken-boys if you wanna read their 1st part go to here! Please go support them!
This little gift is for Kraken! I loved her fics for a long time I'm addicted to her Yandere purge and her other Yandere class 1a one-shots!
"What are you gonna do with them?"u said whipping away the rest of your tears while looking at him nervously he changed back into his gentle and warm demeanor and looked at you with a smile while patting your head "Oh just a new educational lesson about how heroes in training should treat each other! We'll have to talk to Mr. Aizawa with some few arrangements tomorrow" Mirio happily said while patting your head but you swore you heard a tint of aggression in his voice "Don't worry y/n well make sure they won't do this ever again" "After all we are your senpais! It's our job to protect you!" You softly smiled at your upper classmates's words feeling much safer with them
"If it's no trouble. can you walk me to my dorms, I don't want to talk to them or even see them at the moment.." the 3 smiled at your suggestion always wanting to see your room, "Of course pumpkin! Anything for you!" Neijire took you by the hand and smiled cheerfully like a little kid eagerly waiting to get some ice cream, as the 2 of you skipped down the halls (it was mostly her skipping and you trying to match up her speed) mirio chasing the two of you down and Tamaki trying to catch up to you telling mirio and neijire to slow down worried that you might hurt yourself
When the 4 of you made it to the common room your body tensed when you heard some of your classmates like Bakugo, sero, Denki, and Kirishima all loudly yelling at their game you could even hear them roughly mashing the buttons on the controllers, Mina, hakagure, and ochako were chatting among each other and tokoyami was reading a book with headphones Mirio noticed your tensed figure and grabbed your shoulder while giving you a reassuring smile you smiled a bit mentally preparing yourself
When the 4 of you were visible in the common room the whole room became silent, they were staring tokoyami even peak a glance but your 3 upper classmates could see the jealous glances and glares Cleary ignored them and still kept walking until Mina stopped the 4 of you with a fake smile her yellow eyes staring directly at you
"Y/n! There you are we've been looking everywhere for you cmon I have a new game we can play-" "No thanks Mina maybe another time? I have studying to do" you lied praying that she fall for it "Oh cmon the next test doesn't start until next month we got all the time ! Now lets go-" she tried reaching out for your Arm, but was stopped by neijire with a stained smile
"Well it's never too late to study now, is it? The more early you study the better the grades!" She said grabbing your hand tightly the two had a staring battle for a bit until Mina cleared her throat moved out of the way and sat down in silence, the other classmates were chatting quietly among themselves
You quickly made it to your dorm relief washing over you "Thank you...I appreciated it im sorry about what happened back there with Mina whenever I tried to deny her request she would keep pushing it..." "there's no problem at all after our visit tomorrow she'll be able to back off the 1st time" Mirio joked winking at you "Now why don't you rest your little head sunshine you have school tomorrow!" You nodded before leaving Tamaki reached into his bag "Here..." he gifted you a cute plush of your favorite animal "It's for you just in case you feel scared at night" he quietly said hiding his face you thanked him by hugging him now Tamaki flinched a bit at the hug but it was enjoyable it made him feel warm and fuzzy, you said your goodnight and shut the door, you checked to see if anyone was in your room when the coast was Cleary you quickly change into your night clothes and slept hugging the plushie tightly feeling safe
Morning arrived and you woke up instead of feeling amazing that was 1st time in the past 2 months you slept soundly without any fear or discomfort that someone was watching you, you checked the halls to see that nobody was there you quickly ran into the bathroom brushing your teeth and ran back in the room quickly putting on your school uniform and ran to the classroom to avoid any of your classmates barging in and inviting you to walk with them
You sat down in your seat waiting for the others and the school to begin, after everyone was in their seat Aizawa soon got everyone's attention "Right class today we are having an important announcement with our 3rd year students please come right in" and there mirio, Tamaki, Neijire all walked in their expressions were usual mirio and neijire with their cheerful smile while Tamaki look a bit brave and confident today which surprised your classmates a bit
"Good morning class! It's a pleasure to meet you again!" Mirio said with a proud smile while the class looked at him blankly "Today we will be doing a special activity and a lesson called punishment for our actions" his kind voice darkened to a strict and scary tone which shooked the class while Tamaki and Neijire's expressions didn't change "Cause I've heard that someone has been playing unwilling games with them" Mario said as he glared at the class 1a girls especially Mina and hakagure who looked away in fear and worry but Tamaki spoke up "and not keeping our hands to ourselves" Tamaki added while glaring at Kirishima, Denki, and Seo in disappointment the 3 boys looked down to their desk in shame and fear
"And pushing others around even when they tell them to be left alone," Neijire said glare piercing at atIzuku's Bakugan and Shoto'ssoulsl The 3 boys felt a shiver up their spine and could barely even make a noise Bakugo couldn't even protest or say anything just avoided contact "and we decided to start this week all of you will be having hero training with us to remind ourselves about What we are and what we are training for even the weekends! With only 30 minutes a break a day!"
"WHAT!!!" the class soon screamed "But none of us did these things why are we getting punished!? sensei wouldn't approve of this!" Iida angrily said while chopping his hands "Actually I did since most of you were lacking a bit I think this should improve your quirk and abilities a lot consider this as a "wake up call" and no need to tell your parents they approved of this" Aizawa's smirk grew as the class was either speechless, uproar, or just looking down in shame while your senpais stood there consuming all the chaos
"Make sure you start preparing! Training starts tomorrow!" Mirio then exited the room alongside Tamaki and Niejire, not without a smirks and a petty wave from neijire
You stood there stunned your mouth was jaw opened you knew this was gonna be a long week for sure
On Tuesday and Wednesday everyone (except you) was awakened by a loud horn which was by Neijire yelling at them to wake up and get ready for hero training they got 2 extra hours of sleep and just had to do a few laps while their classmates were running until their legs left numb and if they did fell Tamaki would snatch them up with his eagle claw until pieces of their clothes fell of like buttons vest etc while you were gently picked up by Tamaki and asked if you were ok
From Thursday to Friday your classmates had to pull heavy objects (like a bus a car or anything very heavy) until their arms couldn't take it and if they stopped mirio would just ignore them and push them to pull the object harder saying "It's just an object right? You be fine" while you get to pull only a few objects of your choice and get hyped by Tamaki and Neijire while bakugo had to get a private "lesson" from Mirio
On Saturday and Sunday, there was no weekend for the class only you and it was Neijire turn oh boy she wanted to get on your disgusting students, especially the males she forced them to write 12 essays full of apologies to you about how sorry they are none stop even if their hand started to cramp while you spend the weekend with Tamaki and mirio laughing and having fun like you deserved
The next day back at school you were looking better and more confident than ever while your classmates looked like they had been dragged around like dolls they all apologized to you (even Bakugo managed to mumble it) for how they treated you
Now whenever Momo and Iida ask you to have a study session with them they walked away defeated
Dark Shadow didn't come to your room in the middle of the night heck he was kinda scarred about the hero training he gave you a sparkly card that says sorry
Bakugo would still tease you but not as much as he did he never degrades you for your skills or everything else just says a comment and just watches you he still tries to talk down to you but you would either just ignore or call off his bluff making him pissed
Shoto doesn't buy you as many gifts as he still does but not to the point it's very expensive if he does he tries to ask for cuddle time but you decline and he understands immediately
Mina and the girls don't do those games if you ever agreed to play with them it would be your favorite video/board games and there would be no touching Mina tr
Kirishima, Sero, Denki, don't pull your shirt to the point it rips but still touches your hair if you tell them to stop they'll immediately apologize now they just pat you on the back but immediately check if you are alright
Midoriya doesn't try to push you to talk with him if you have a conversation and decide to be left alone he'll completely understand and wave to you politely
You thanked the Big Three so much for their help Mirio and Neijire beamed at your smile while Tamakiface turned red hiding and his face you were just so cute! you invited them to go watch a movie as a token of your appearance which they happily accepted they were so glad they cheered their little sunshine up and they wanted it to stay that way so one day if they confess their love for you they hope to see that beautiful smile beamed up and accept their love!~

My Hero Academia Class 1-A Music Headcanons
I've been catching up on the manga and thinking a lot about Jiro making a collaborative playlist to help her really connect with her classmates lately. Anyway,
Deku listens to soundtracks, like bombastic instrumentals from old superhero movies, and I like to think he enjoys some fantasy adventures too. He also likes J-rock, including some openings and endings from the anime. He's pretty open to recommendations no matter the genre, but generally prefers more mellow stuff to help him relax and study or just unwind after a long day, and tends to listen to the same small handful of his favourite songs anyway.
Bakugo listens to heavy metal, particularly extreme metal. He loves the blast beat drumming and harsh vocals. A lot of the lyrics are incomprehensible upon listening, but if you took the time to look some of them up, they'd give more insight to his more vulnerable side that he's too prideful to show. I also like the idea of him having a softer private playlist that nobody lives to speak of.
Ochako didn't really seek out new music on her own before high school and formed her taste mostly from the radio or recommendations from friends. She has a lot of fun going through the playlist and she's happy to listen to anything from bubbly J-pop to heavy metal. I think she'd be a big fan of Babymetal.
Iida also likes instrumentals for studying, but more classical, and with faster tempos that he can take his morning runs to as well, like allegro. Something like hardcore techno would be funny, maybe some sport anthems, and a few more mellow rock songs that he picked up from his brother for when he needs to cool down.
Todoroki was very isolated and had a really limited musical library before high school. He'd also just listen to some classical, traditional Japanese music, or whatever was on the radio, if anything at all. He later gravitates to edgy alternative rock, or anything with relatable lyrics that help him vent his emotions. I think he could use that.
Tokoyami likes goth, modern classical, anything mellow, dark and ethereal-sounding with poetic lyrics. His music is oddly calming and haunting at the same time. He doesn't like anything too loud or harsh-sounding, partially because it can excite Dark Shadow too much.
Tsuyu and Koda both listen to cozy movie soundtracks, like from Disney or Ghibli, folk, lo-fi, ambient nature sounds, anything grounding and soothing, or "cottagecore".
Momo listens to classical, traditional pop, or modern music with elements of either, like baroque/chamber pop.
Jiro is already confirmed to have a preference for rock, probably alternative rock, and punk. I'd like to think some metal as well, but she'll listen to almost any genre and has impeccable taste in everything. She was largely influenced by her parents, and maybe grandparents, so her library spans a few decades as well.
Mina and Toru both listen to upbeat J-pop, and I like to think one of them introduced the others to Little Glee Monster. Maybe some sappy or wistful love songs more in private. Mina also likes 70s pop, disco and hip-hop, the kind of music that just compells you to dance and sing at the top of your lungs, maybe some psychedelic space rock and sci-fi horror soundtracks.
Kirishima is also confirmed to like 80s rock, like Eikichi Yazawa and Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi. I'd also think he likes stuff from as far back as the 50/60s as well, since Yazawa is the closest thing to Elvis from Japan that I know of, and that he picks up some more modern hard rock and metal mostly from Bakugo and Tetsutetsu as well.
Kaminari and Mineta both listen to J-pop, mostly from female idols that they think are cute. Besides that, Kaminari likes pop rock/punk and a lot of English music, and seems to have formed a lot of his taste from whatever was popular on the radio or social media with the occasional unexpected banger. He also had a dubstep, Vocaloid and hyperpop phase.
Sero is almost as adventurous as Jiro with music. He has a talent for finding underrated indie bands, and songs in a few different languages as well.
Aoyama also listens to some classical, but more opera, as well as French pop, some disco and house that he can vogue to. It's mostly upbeat but there's some sad-sounding songs in there as well that the others can't translate.
Shoji doesn't have much to contribute, being a minimalist, but he generally likes the more mellow indie stuff. He can get overstimulated easily.
Sato and Ojiro both like upbeat stuff, and enjoy music more as background noise for training, or baking in Sato's case. I also think Sato would enjoy the girls' bubbly pop music, and Ojiro would like some traditional stuff. Idk man they're nothing characters

I'm gonna voice a bit of an unpopular opinion here but I wish Horikoshi would've put more of a focus on anti-mutant discrimination through the pov of non-villains. (using the word mutant here bc iirc 'heteromorph' is the less sensitive one as far as Viz's translation goes)
I believe someone before me (possibly @/transhawks) has already said this much, but... Hawks could've brought so much nuance to the table. He's a mutant, but he has more privilege than most because he retains a mostly human-like appearance; unlike fanon, his feet and his hands are human looking, and the only "birdier" trait he displays is a heightened sight. All in all, his wings are the only part of his appearance that make him visibly a mutant, and he's exempt from the anti-heteromorphic sentiment because his wings are the very things that make him a hero. His entire brand revolves around them: he uses them to fight, to save, to gather intel. Without them, he's simply not a hero, because they're a fundamental part of him, of how he does his duty. The Commission made them his trademark, exploiting his trauma ("what are those wings for?") as a way to leash him. They trained him to exploit the potential in his quirk to the max, and then made it a focus for the public to latch onto and idolize. He's not just Hawks, he's the Wing Hero: Hawks. When he models, he puts them on display. When he's out in the streets, he lets fans get into his personal space and touch them, feel them up. And his admirers do. In their eyes, those wings become akin to Endeavor's flames or Kamui's branches. They're no longer seen as a mutation that makes him "subhuman", but as the very thing that makes him a hero.
But this is all a speculation on my part because Hawks' original design was different from its finalized version. Before the movie came out and Horikoshi had to scrap it, Hawks' original appearance had a bird head, feathered torso and arms, and bird-like claws for hands. And that makes me wonder: was he always supposed to be a beloved public figure? Was his background with the Commission all it took for him to breeze past the social stigma and become so popular? Or did Horikoshi sacrifice some of its initial plans for Hawks' character when he had to last-minute change his design?
Even without considering the redesign angle, I always thought Horikoshi missed the mark for giving us a bit more worldbuilding nuance when Hawks recruited Tokoyami as an intern.
Like. We know that individuals still get discriminated on because of their appearance and quirks to this day. As this chapter points out, it might be an issue that appears to be smoothed over by some more progressive choices (like Nedzu becoming UA's principal), but Nedzu's backstory itself tells us he was the victim of experimentations by humans. Shouji wears a mask for other people's comfort and Spinner was the victim of social ostracization and became an hikikomori.
The discrimination is still there, but it just evolved into something more rooted and less outright than bullying and religious or social oppression. At least in the city, mutants are now integrated well enough in society, but their needs are still not accommodated or even accounted for. This is why for example Shouji has to rip the sleeves off his uniform instead of getting one custom-made, or why there was that background character TV host who cut one of his horns not to block the viewer's sight of the screen behind him (and was praised as a dedicated professional for it). In other words, mutants are expected to conform to the standards for non-mutants, instead of society actually making any effort to be inclusive and accessible.
And all of this is fine and well as background worldbuilding information. But given how it's now becoming a plot point with its own subplot, I can't help but think we could've used some more set up for it.
One of the stated reasons why Hawks extends that internship offer to Tokoyami, despite not usually taking interns, is because "they're both birds". And of course part of this is just Hawks being Hawks. He's quirky and he makes a habit of throwing off people with his laidback and goofy act. But my point is, what if there was more to it? What if he saw a fellow mutant, a fellow flying-adjacent quirk he could help hone, and thought, "people like us already have it hard as it is. He's a mutant and one with a quirk that can potentially be seen as villainous. The League nearly captured him too, and the media ripped into that other kid to blame him for his own kidnapping. But by taking Tokoyami under my wing, I'm vouching for him. If he associates with me, an already established media sweetheart, it's less likely that anti-mutant sentiment will target him."
I mean, obviously Hawks still would've offered an internship to a class-A kid because he needed insight on the League. But Tokoyami isn't the only kid who can fly. Heck, Bakugou has been doing that with his explosions since day 1, and he was in the League's lair for a few days. Obviously, if intel and quirk compatibility were all Hawks was after, Tokoyami wasn't the sole option. Hawks wasn't looking just for wasted potential, either. Uraraka can float, she's similarly driven by challenges, and has never maxed out on her potential either. It's obvious to me that Hawks feels some kind of kinship for Tokoyami that he doesn't for the other kids. And I'm just saying, it would've been interesting if that was because of their roles as heroes and mutants in a society that is hostile to one but not the other.
Don't get me wrong. On his own, Spinner does bring up a lot of interesting things to the table. But he's meant to be an outsider, someone rebelling against the current state of things. So one thing he cannot portray is the pov of someone who is a cog in that machine. Hawks could've done that, and he could've shown us the double standard at play in all its glory.
Hawks is a mutant, but he "passes" as human—or human enough to be integrated fully. So he has privilege. But that privilege is artificial, since he started off at the bottom of the food chain and only rose into wealth and power thanks to government funding and sponsoring. Yet, at the same time, his integration is still conditional; it hinges on his performance, on adapting to society and its needs over his own, on being a hero through and through with no time to spare. On making his mutation a show that can sell, and that can be a tool for the people who invested time and resources into it. The respect he's given now is not inherent, but it ties directly into what he gives back to the society that "allowed" him to raise to number two. And he knows it. He very well knows it, and he protects his forged hero persona because he's aware it's the only thing standing between his current life and a return to homelessness, poverty and abuse.
Idk. I just think expanding on this would've added a lot to the story. It would've made it an issue to fix, rather than something that only affects "villains," because the heroes learn to deal with it and that makes them "plus ultra" as opposed to oppressed in a different way

Hello! I’ve been following for while now and I absolutely love all of your work. This is the first time I’m requesting something.... My idea is something sweet, I love Tokoyami so if you don’t find him weird can I have him with reader who’s his secret admirer? She writes him poems from time to time until she gain the courage to confess giving him flowers? I want to make him feel loved

Another one? This is weird, flattering, but weird.
Fumikage Tokoyami is not really used to having admirers, let alone ones who would send him letters or write him poems. So when he had received his first one he was genuinely confused, and thought it was probably a mistake.. if not a prank. But they kept coming on a regular basis, so maybe, just maybe, it wasn't a mistake.
It was still strange, who would possibly waste their precious time to send him letters after letters filled with words of praise and admiration accompanied by beautifully written poems? He couldn't tell. But even if it turned out to be a prank, he would still be grateful since someone actually cared enough to invest their time and energy in doing it. That's what he kept thinking.
What he failed to realize though, is that it was never a mistake, nor was it a prank.
What he failed to see was the way your cheeks flushed and your heart hammered in your chest everytime he passed you by.
You liked him so much, and had plenty of chances to confess, but never the courage to let him know.
You're shy and awkward, same as him, and that was part of why you kept your feelings a secret for so long. Besides, you two have been friends for years, and you feared losing him in case he didn't feel the same way about you, so you settled for being his good friend.
_ "Look I found another one, can you believe it?!" He shook his head in disbelief as he finally joined you for lunch.
_ "Oh, yeah?.. well, apparently someone truly likes you," you responded aloofly making sure to keep your focus solely on the food placed in front of you, "hey lunch break is almost over and our patrol is scheduled right after, so hurry up and eat." you had to change the subject.
Will you ever be able to tell him the truth? For a long while, that was the only question you had no answer to.
Until one day..
_ "Hi y/n, are you ready for the morning assembly?" you had just gotten into your costume and was waiting to receive your orders of the day when he joined you.
_ "Oh, hi.. umm.. yeah I'm ready." you didn't mean to sound flustered, but for some reason you couldn't control your reactions around him.
The meeting went by in a blur, and you couldn't for the life of you focus on any of the instructions given.
"I'm going to make a mess today, I can already feel it." is what you kept thinking to yourself.
And you were right, nothing went according to the orders you were given.
_ "Heads up y/n! What the hell are you doing?" your supervisor wasn't happy at all.
_ "I'm sorry! I'm on it!"
From the corner of your eye, you were able to see Tokoyami eying you anxiously, he was aware of your distress but couldn't understand its reason, so you had to get it together first and leave everything else for later..
_ "Y/n, can I talk to you for a minute?" he approached you, eyes filled with unanswered questions.
You had just changed out of your costume and was about to head home and try to forget everything that happened earlier, but his sudden appearance changed your plans.
_ "What.. yeah, sure. Do you want to head to the cafeteria?"
_ "Let's just leave, I'll walk you home and talk on the way."
You nodded and left the agency side by side with him.
Numerous thoughts had battled inside your head, what did he want from you? Did he find out about your secret crush on him? Did he want to scold you for messing up earlier? Or maybe it was none of that. Whatever it was, you wanted to hear it and get it over with.
_ "So, what is it Fumikage?" you tried to play it cool, offering him a smile as you asked.
_ "Are you feeling alright?" his tone was gentle, as usual, "you were distracted today and I was really worried."
Your eyes widened and your heartbeat quickened as his words sunk in. He was worried about you.
Should you get your hopes up? Obviously none of it would mean anything if you don't gather your courage to confess your feelings.
_ "I'm fine Fumikage I promise, thank you for checking in on me." you took a deep breath and looked away from him before asking, "so, have you received any new letters?" you obviously knew the answer to your own question but you couldn't find any other way to bring up the subject.
_ "Oh, yeah, they're coming in as usual." he responded awkwardly, looking down at his feet.
You felt a little bolder so you decided to go a bit further, "what if one day you find out their identity? Or better yet, what if they finally decide to confess their love properly?"
_ "That's never going to happen." he sounded unusually stern, but there was a hint of something else that you couldn't quite understand, "I still don't think it's real." was he hurt? Disappointed? Both? Whatever it was, you hated it.
You wanted to let him know the truth more than anything else: "Fumikage.."
_ "Yeah?"
_ ".. No, never mind." you were still not confident enough for such a huge step, and telling him something important so casually like you were about to didn't seem right.
_ "It's fine you can tell me anything." his voice was warm like it's always been when addressing you. What more did you need?
_ "It was me.. the one who keeps sending you letters, that's me." you were a bundle of nerves as you finally confessed your biggest secret.
_ "Was it fun for you?" his tone had changed, "did you have a good laugh?"
What was happening? "Fumikage.."
_ "No no, that's fine, I was right after all." he raised his arms defensively and took a step back, "it was a prank, that's what friends do to each other right?"
You opened your mouth to explain yourself but it was too late, he turned around and walked away already, leaving you all alone..
Why did he react the way he did? Why did he misunderstand you?
You wanted to follow him but your body was stiff and your vision was blurry. You couldn't even tell when your tears started falling..
Things changed ever since that evening. He started avoiding you, not even a greeting or a polite head bow. You wanted to talk to him, to tell him that you were serious but he gave you no chance to do so.
You hated losing him so easily, if he didn't return your feelings, than you were to be content with your life long friendship. If only he would give you a chance to explain yourself.
_ "Oh, hi. What are you doing here?" he was startled as he found you outside his appartement one evening.
_ "Can we talk please?" you stood nervously half expecting him to shut the door on your face, but he didn't. His eyes traveled down to the cute little flower bouquet you held in your hands.
_ "Yeah sure." he stepped aside allowing you to walk in.
_ "This is for you by the way, a peace offering." you handed him the bouquet as soon as he closed the door behind you two.
_ "Thank you, but you didn't have to do any of this." he declared, placing it on the dining room table.
_ "Yes I did! This is the least I can do after hurting you that day! But please allow me to explain, it's really not what you think." you were desperate.
He looked at you for a moment but said nothing, and simply gestured you to carry on.
_ "I truly like you, not just as a friend but so much more", you took a few steps towards him as you decided to keep nothing in, "the reason why I haven't told you for so long was because I was.. scared." your voice trailed off and your eyes traveled down to your feet.
_ "Scared? Why would you be?"
_ "It's because I wasn't sure of how you would react, I honestly didn't want to lose my best friend, but I'm afraid I already have." you wanted to cry at that point, but forced your tears back before he took notice.
_ "I feel like an idiot." he chuckled nervously, "I was a jerk to you and didn't take your confession seriously, I'm really sorry for the way I acted."
Your face finally lit up after days of suffering, but for some reason you could no longer hold your tears back.
It was at that moment that he realized how serious you were about him.
_ "So, do you want to go out on a date with me? Say, tomorrow after work?" he cautiously requested, as he gently wiped your tears away.
_ "Ye.. yes, yes I do." it was the last thing you expected to hear him say. But not only did you have your best friend back, you also had a chance to go on a date with him. You were the happiest person alive.
What you failed to realize though, was that your feelings have always been mutual. And at that moment, he too was as happy as you were.

I occasionally get weird and wacky AU ideas. Nothing new there for us voidlings. But I've had this au in my head for a bit and honestly it's mostly just vibes. Eddie Brock + Venom (not sold separately) end up in BNHA. Eddie, who has seen some shit and lives in a wild wacky world is just like "Well, wasn't expecting this bullshit today" and adjusts pretty well. Nedzu of course does as he does in every crossover ever and is like "hey come to my school" Eddie, who is an investigative journalist and has a pretty nuanced understanding of human behavior and politics surrounding people with abilities is like "sure, want me to teach an extra credit class as well?" Meanwhile he never mentions the whole, ya know, alien he's sharing his body/mind with that makes cannibalism a necessary part of his diet. Venom is referred to exclusively using neutral pronouns btw, i respect they use male pronouns but it's also stated that they tend to use the pronouns of their current host and that's is not actually a gender identity thing for them, because they are unicellular goop from space and don't actually have that. Anyways obviously this class teaches the kids about how to investigate stuff better, like what clues to keep an eye out for, common trends in behavior, first hand accounts etc. Part of the class includes of course that Eddie explains the distinctions between hero, vigilante,anti-hero, criminal, villain, terrorist etc because BNHA is hella black and white with all of that and doesn't acknowledge nuance very well. Some of the necessary vibes come from the idea of Eddie pulling tokoyami aside and being like "hey kid uhh how much sharing of body/mind is going on between you and your sentient shadow there. Cause uhhh you're a teenage boy, and buddy over there acts like they're you're annoying little sister so... Can I interest you in some therapy for how traumatic that's probably been?" Cue the debate regarding Dark shadows age because are they the same age as tokoyami? But technically they were only 'born' when tokoyami was 4? Do they experience time when not physically present? How does their bond affect their maturity and relationships? Also the Venom/cannibalism reveal thing needs to happen under either the most absurdly comedic or absurdly gory circumstances, one or the other.
the vibes for this are fantastic

I like ignoring Tokoyami and Hawks canon relationship for angst reasons mostly. Anyway, imagine how tiring Hawks must be/must've been for Tokoyami and Dark Shadow.
Sure, Hawks is truly no different than any of their hyperactive classmates whom they can work with without issue, but this is a young adult whos swarmed by paparazzi all the time and probably has his own fragrance line for some fancy perfume/cologne company. At some point, its tiring. Also the physical bit of running after Hawks originally. Yes Tokoyami regularly does training n shit for class, but fuck man he can only do so much before it becomes unhealthy for him.
Tokoyami and Dark Shadow were probably fucking exhausted trying to keep up with Hawks. Physically, as well as trying to keep up with how rapidly he has to switch gears for fans. Like, obviously running is tiresome, but just trying to exist in the space of a whole celebrity when you're not exactly the most extraverted of you're classmates is hard. Plus paparazzi = bright flashing lights. Not good for Dark Shadow nor Tokoyamis eyes.
Hawks likely didn't notice. I know he's not fuckin stupid, he's intelligent, but he likely didn't care as much abt his intern slowly but surely becoming more and more uncomfortable with being around him. He might be a lil hurt, but he has his own act to keep up, he can't exactly worry abt his interns own mask slipping.
Tokoyami stops trying to even make humming sounds or facial reactions to Hawks typical antics. He's stimming a lot more to keep himself and Dark Shadow from losing it. If he was blunt before, hes even more blunt cause he can't use mental energy to fake a nicer tone, all that energy goes to not exploding the second Hawks opens his mouth.
Idk man somethin somethin bird bros angst

Class 1-A's reaction to meeting Young pro hero! reader
Tumblr media
GIF by wackyracesdavidfurtado
Tumblr media
A/N: A lot of these are quite repetitive ToT, I don’t know much about the other characters who don’t get enough screen time, but I try >.< GN! Reader (mentions of feminine and masculine identities in Mineta’s)
Genre: Fluff
(p/h/n) - Pro hero name
based on this headcanon-ish fanfic
Tumblr media
Katsuki Bakugo
After the training, he was dedicated to surpassing you
You? Already a pro hero when you’re the same age as him?
No can do, he will try to get you to spill how you managed to get a licence without going to hero school.
But after you explain to him that it's confidential information, he will reluctantly stop asking you.
He will ask you to spar with him though
Better be ready for this blasty boy to be all over you trying to one you up.
Izuku Midoriya
Was amazed at you
A pro at your age? You are basically his other idol after all might
Definitely sooo happy to have met you. Like a fanboying type happy, you were probably like his “if (p/h/n) was able to do it at such a young age, then so can I!”
Asked a lot about your quirk, about villain fighting stories you have
Also asked about a lot of tips on becoming a hero
Will ask to hang out with you more outside of hero training
Shoto Todoroki
After the training, he was dedicated to surpassing you (1)
You were probably someone his father compared to him to while in UA
“Shoto, look at (p/h/n) already a pro hero and climbing the ranks, and they’re the same age as you!” - Endeavor
After you answered his question about becoming a hero without hero school, He often would ask you to give him hero tips as well.
He used to see you as just someone to surpass, but after you told him about the villain fights you’ve had, you had earned his respect.
He also asks you to spar with him in your free time.
Tenya Iida
Apparently, his brother Tensei has had the opportunity to work with you before.
He told Tenya about you and how it would have been a great opportunity for you and him to meet,
Lo and behold, you both have met
Tenya told you about his brother and you went on to talk about how his brother did mention Tenya to you while on the mission.
Tenya and you get along quite well, you like telling him stories about your missions when you have time.
Eijiro Kirishima
When you introduced yourself as the same age as his class, he was star struck.
You’re sooo cool in his eyes!!
And so manly in his opinion
Also asks to spar with you
He wants to get to know you better honestly
Puts effort in hanging out with you when he finds out that you don’t have many friends your age.
Denki Kaminari
Hello hotstuff-
You’re soo cool!! He is also another who looks up to you
And he thinks you’re attractive
Also wants to hang out with you a lot
Very interested in your stories aswell
Hanta Sero
Another one who likes hanging out with you
Will invite you to occasions or outings with the bakusquad
Another one to ask for tips
Honestly, he sees you more of a friend than a pro hero, he’s chill like that
Still look up to you and your abilities though!!
Fumikage Tokoyami
Another one who respects your abilities a lot
He doesn’t interact with you much like others do
But don’t take that to heart, he’s just not that social
But on some occasions, he will ask for some advice for hero training
Dark shadow absolutely loves you!!
Whenever you’re around, dark shadow comes out more (This is like the only times Tokoyami is “forced” to talk to you lmao
Yuga Aoyama
Is impressed with your abilities
He likes talking to you, but mostly about himself lmao
Asks you to tell stories about your missions
He will also offer you some cheese while you both talk, lmao
Mashirao Ojiro
Also another one who doesn’t talk to you much
But he still respects you a lot too
Most of the time, your conversations revolve around training
If he’s okay with it, you like petting his tail sometimes while talking to him
Mezo Shoji
Another who doesn’t talk to you much sorry
He is a bit shy, but he will talk to you when needed, or atleast greet you
Another who has mad respect for you, being a young pro hero
Minoru Mineta
I have no words for this kid
If you’re more on the feminine side, He will do his shenanigans on you
If you’re more male presenting, He will ask you to join in on his shenanigans
You’re lowkey disgusted at his attitude, so you don’t hang out much
Rikido Sato
He likes getting your opinion on his baking!!
You both hang out, you telling him stories from your missions while he teaches you how to bake
Each story makes him more impressed at your abilities
Asks for tips gang!! More on how to be a tankish hero since his quirk is physical
Koji Koda
Another shy boi
Gets flustered talking to you
He has huge respect to you as a hero, and wonders if he can become a hero like you with his quirk
He will open up a bit when the topic is about animals
Ochaco Uraraka
She thinks you’re sooo cool!!
But is also sad when she found out that you don’t have friends your age
Will definitely ask you to hang out with the dekusquad!!
Will also ask for hero tips and for stories
You both probably become best friends

Silly mha headcanons
I'm new to the Fandom and have just started season 6 so yk don't be mean and don't spoil shit thanks
Iida once stayed up all night studying. When he fell asleep at the breakfast table, the class 'weekend at Bernies' ed him through their classes.
The band members from the school festival have a group chat, whenever one of them is down there's an impromptu jam session in Jirou's room, usually Momo's idea, because none of them can really say no to her
Kirishima is also in the group chat (Denki added him because he's the only one that can make Bakugo actually show up when he's the one not okay)
Jirou sometimes invites Shinso to said jam sessions, he mostly just listens and gives his thoughts, but every now and then he adds some killer vocals, especially when he brings the voice modifier
Aizawa and Mic have a wall at home full of framed news clippings of old students. Not just hero headlines though; there's stories about a career change into nothing relating to heroics, tabloid interviews, and even an engagement announcement (they had a bet going on that one)
Mirio bakes. Really well
The kids of Class 1A found out about Put Your Hands Up Radio and continuously request songs
Baby shark is a favourite. So is Never Gonna Give You Up
One particularly memorable day Mic got the request to recreate the "Salt 'n Pepper diner experience" on air. Once he finished laughing, he did.
They once asked if they could have music during one of their quieter classes, Aizawa said no. The next week, Momo brought in a radio and they turned it on as he walked into the room. Mic was signing off with his favourite song "requested by a very special class"
He still doesn't know how they knew it
(it was Shinso)
They have music now. Occasionally.
Hawks met Eri once. He had a panic attack.
Dabi does that thing where he pushes his tongue against the corners of his lips bc the scars are itchy.(is this bc I cut my lip recently and spent days doing it? Maybeee) He doesn't notice he does it, the league has a standing agreement that whoever mocks it gets dusted. The agreement was created when Hawks joined.
Hawks did in fact notice. He finds it cute.
The league had a secret Santa exchange. Toga got Shigaraki and individually wrapped five tubs of vicks vaporub
He told her to fuck off.
He still uses them.
UA students were invited to a Hero Gala once. In conversation, Koda was asked to show off his quirk by calling the garden's animals to the door.
He wasn't asked again after Tsu, Tokoyami, as well as pro heroes Hawks and Mirko were ripped from their conversations in several corners of the room only to end up very confused near the boy

If you were to make some characters of your choice pokemon gym leaders what would their teams be like?
Ok I always Love Pokemon themed asks so I got a Little carried away on this one. I decided to make pro-heroes, 1A, and villains each their own league of eight gyms! Each one has their position (first gym you encounter, second gym you encounter, etc), their type, and team!
Pro-Heroes
The first gym is Edgeshot, who uses steel types due to ninjas using swords, and his ability to become extremely sharp. He uses a single Honedge as steel is a more powerful type, so I figured giving him 1+ Pokemon would be unfair
For the second gym we have Snipe, who uses ground types due to him being a cowboy, which are generally associated with the American mid/south west and Mexico, which are mostly desert or farmlands. He uses Mudbray, as it evolves into a horse, and Silicobra, as its evolution is based in part on sidewinders (a snake from Mexico and the American Southwest) and double-barreled guns
The third gym would be Present Mic, who uses normal types as it is used as a catchall for sound based Pokemon. He uses Chatot, Loudred, and Jigglypuff all for their relation to sound/singing
The fourth gym is Aizawa, who uses dark types. I'm gonna be honest this was purely a choice of vibes. He uses an Alolan Persian and Purrloin because I couldn't not give him cats, and Morgrem due to it and Grimmsnarl using their hair similar to how Aizawa uses his scarf
Midnight is the fifth gym, and she uses poison types. I was between fairy and poison for her, but went with poison as her quirk kind of acts like an air-borne toxin, and I wanted to give her Salazzle. That being said, she uses Salazzle because Look At It, and Roselia and Glimmora for their pretty, floral looks as her quirk reminds me a lot of the move sweet scent, which is learned by a lot of grass types/flower-based Pokemon
Hawks is up next as the sixth gym, with flying types. Honestly I was pretty uninspired when it came to him, so he has Pidgeot, Swellow, and Talonflame as they're all powerful and/or fast birds that share one or all of their colors with him
Next up is All Might as the seventh gym leader with fighting types, due to his physical strength and fighting style, as well as the fighting type being known for having a lot of "just" Pokemon. He uses Machoke for its appearance, Falinks for their skilled and organized fighting style, and Lucario and Gallade for their just and knightly attributes
Finally Endeavor is the eighth gym leader, and of course uses fire types. His team is exclusively based on physically large and powerful Pokemon, because lets be real thats all he gives a shit about. He uses Magmortar, Emboar, Incineroar, and Camerupt
Class 1A
The first gym is Kirishima, who uses Rock types. He uses Geodude and Rockruff for reasons of them being neat little guys who I think he'd like
The second gym is Iida, who uses Steel types. His only Pokemon is Skarmory, due to it being on the faster end of steel types and sharing a similar color scheme to Iida. Like Edgeshot, he only uses one Pokemon since its so powerful so early on
For the third gym we have Uraraka who uses fairy types as many have magic that can make things float, and they overall match her vibe. She uses Togetic, as I wanted to give her a dual flying type, and Clefable
Kaminari is the fourth gym with electric types. He uses Pikachu (who hasn't seen him called Pikachu before?), as well as Blitzle and Electabuzz as I feel they fit his style and color scheme
The fifth gym is Mina, who uses poison types. Her Pokemon were honestly picked entirely on vibes; she uses Sliggoo, Galarian Slowbro, and Toxapex
Tokoyami is the sixth gym leader with dark types. He uses Honchkrow and Mandibuzz for the bird theme. He also uses a Lokix due to its showdown form. It reminds me a lot of dark shadow as it becomes much stronger but takes a toll on its body, similar to how dark shadow can really strain Tokoyami
The seventh gym, is Midoriya, who uses normal types. I know people usually associate him with fighting types, but I thought it would be cool to give him normal types - he'd be the type to give a chance to one of the weaker types. His team mostly revolves around the Pokemons' personalities. He uses Kangaskhan, as its willing to injure itself to defend its family, Blissey as it attempts to help any person or Pokemon it can, and Lopunny as it looks cute but is a powerful fighter
Finally Todoroki is the eighth gym, and uses ice types. I went with ice since he originally used exclusively ice, but all of his Pokemon have a connection to fire types. He uses Alolan Ninetales, whose regular form is a fire type, Galarian Darmanitan, which is ice/fire type, Glaceon, who is related to the fire type Flareon, and Snowy Form Castform, who can turn into the fire type sunny form
Villains
The first gym is Toga, who uses fairy types simply because she thinks theyre cute. She uses Impidimp for its mischievous personality and Spritzee as she finds it cute (also that whole thing with the bird when she was a kid)
The second gym is Muscular with fighting types. He uses a Mankey due to its extremely aggressive temperament, and Machop since Machoke and Machamp sort of look like him
Mr Compress is the third gym leader with psychic types. He uses Kadabra since its based on common real life magicians/magic acts, and Spoink since its pearl is the source of its power similar to how Compress's power is his marbles
Kurogiri is the fourth gym leader and he uses ghost types. He uses Spiritomb due to its resemblance to him, and Yamask as it was formerly a human, the same way he was
The fifth gym leader is Geten with ice type Pokemon. He uses Glalie (I think Snorunt looks like him), as well as Sneasel and Cloyster since theyre powerful and darker/aggressive than a lot of other ice types
Magne is the sixth gym leader and she uses steel types. Her Pokemon are Magneton for its relation to magnets, Tinkatuff for using its hammer how she uses her magnetic pillar, and Metang
The seventh gym is Shigaraki, who uses dark types. He has a Zweilous, as its evolution is known for acting out aggressively due to being disliked/outcast. He also uses Bomberdier for its very childish behavior, and Malamar as it controls others and influences historic events
Finally is Dabi who uses fire types. I wanted him to almost be a dual fire/ghost type user, as a lot of ghost types fit his darker theme, or feelings of abandonment. He uses Alolan Marowak, Chandelure, Houndoom and Ceruledge

AU where Midoriya isn't able to convince Bakugou to work with him during the finals
1- Izuku tries. You can't say he doesn't try. But Bakugo would rather lose, and Izuku can't beat All Might right now. To win, he has to leave the exam.
2- he doesn't go directly for the door- All Might is expecting him to be reasonable and try. Instead he vanishes down a side alleyway, taking a post of the fence All Might threw at him.
All Might expects a sneak attack and stays prepared, covering his weak side, but by the time he realizes Izuku has snuck around and back, Izuku's too close to the exit and makes it just through in time.
3- Izuku passes the exam. He got through on time, he has to. It's just a matter of of Bakugo will or not. All Might, RG, and Aizawa discuss. Aizawa shrugs and says pass both, even if he prefers them to have worked together. All Might honestly doesn't feel good about Izuku running, it feels antithetical. RG frowns at both of them, and strongly disagrees. She's the one who watched the entire exam, and Izuku finally did what she told him he needed to do at the SF, and also tried to work with Bakugo, but he just refused to. All Might thinks about about the start of the year, how Izuku almost told him about OfA, and has to agree. The decide to pass Izuku, and fail Bakugo, and Aizawa prepared a set of noice cancelling headphones to deal with his reaction in class.
4- When the League attacks the camp, they know one of their targets is in the lounge, and warps in closer to there. Kouta is never near Muscular - until Izuku carries him there, as the students sent back to the lounge realize it's on fire. The remedial students inside all got out safely, but then had to fend off further attackers. It's utter chaos, with half the students focused on the lounge and slowly beating the villains back, and the other half slowly dropping to sleep in the woods after Ragdoll was taken.
In the aftermath, the villains forced to leave at Kurogiri's pickup, they don't take Bakugo. But they do take Tokoyami, snatched up by Compress in the woods.
5- some things do not change. Izuku is going to help the rescue team. This is not an exam. AfO will not leave Tokoyami alone if Izuku sneaks away. This is the villain Izuku has to face, and he will save his friend along the way. Some things do change. Aoyama, a dear friend taken, wavers more.
And Bakugo, pride twice burned because he failed his exam and he doesn't get why, because he and everyone else at the lounge heard that the League was after him mostly, a target, a victim, a failure - Bakugo goes to Izuku and says Izuku isn't running this time. He's going to help Bakugo beat the villains and get Tokoyami while Bakugo blows Tomura to smithereens. Which, Izuku was already going to go with the rescue team. But if Bakugo is going to start helping now, well, they'll take him for any extra fire power they can get.

How do you guys think the MHA boys (Iida, Bakugo, Kaminari ect.) would be around a S/o that had a moderatly powerful quirk, on around the same power level as Mina. Where their quirk fails them they make up for it with agility. Basically, how would they act around an S/o like that, she's not bullied or anything but mostly keeps to herself unless she's around someone she knows? This is my 1st time making a request, so I'm sorry if it doesn't make much sense
Iida: He admires her dedication to training her weaknesses and making up for their quirk with technique and physical ability. He doesn’t doubt her ability, but is highly motivated to keep her safe.
Bakugo: Everyone is surprised that he doesn’t call her a weakling. He acknowledges her strengths and dedication, and respects it. He will act to protect her, but expects her to do the same. The thing he defends her from most aggressively is the opinions of others. (I don’t think he’d have a partner that he doesn’t consider an equal in some way)
Kaminari: He’s sweet but kind of scared. He worries over her, and fears that he won’t be good enough to protect her. He admires her strength and passion, and wants to live up to the standard she sets.
Sero: They are a good team. Sero likes working together with her to find creative solutions to problems. Overall, they have a well-balanced and amiable relationship.
Tokoyami: The two of them interact cordially, both Tokoyami and her prefer the title “partner”. Tokoyami respects her as a partner and ally, and doesn’t try to restrict her by being overly protective. However, he has strong protective instincts toward her which can easily trigger his power to become unstable. Her patience and level-headedness help keep him in check.
Midoriya: He thinks her power is really cool, and is always asking questions about how it works, what she can do, and how she accommodates weaknesses or drawbacks. She entertains his curiosity but she doesn’t see her power as overly remarkable, but is flattered by his interest. He can be awkward around her in more romantic or social situations despite being assured of her affection. When it comes to combat, he doesn’t treat her any differently than his other classmates, making good use of her unique talents and ensuring her safety at the cost of himself.
Aoyama: He showers her with poetic compliments and roses, he is always super extra in his frequent declarations of affection. He constantly reminds her that her power is fine and that the way she uses it is “magnifique.” She is a little uncomfortable with how much attention he draws to them whenever they are in public, but he reminds her that she is beautiful and those who are beautiful should shine.
Ojiro: He sometimes feels inferior when he compares himself to her, but she feels the same way. They learn from each other about combat skills and effective movements. They aren’t overly flashy as a couple, they mostly enjoy quiet company. They like to work out together.
Koda: He hides behind her frequently, but she is patient and encouraging. She uses her powers to protect him when he’s too scared to act. She makes him want to try harder and be better. When she needs him, he steps up.
Kirishima: He admires how hard she works to compensate for her lack of physical power. They are basically all of the couple fitness goals videos, they love to work out together and have a fair amount of healthy competition in their performance. They’re an effective team, his power, and durability are complimented by her agility and versatility. He likes to do things for her, not because he thinks she can’t, but because he likes to be chivalrous, he shows his affection through acts of service.
Shoji: He feels deeply honored to have her, he often feels particularly unworthy. She admires his strength and versatility and wishes he would be more confident in their relationship. He is quiet but shows his affection through physical touch and acts of service. He worries about her, and cares fiercely about her safety and wellbeing.
Sato: He is a major sweetie around her, gentle and cuddly. He likes to make her smile with his baking. She is the brains of this relationship, especially in combat. She makes plans and keeps him from burning out, and saves him from danger when he hits his limits. Often he overexerts himself trying to protect her, resulting in her having to get them both out of trouble. He admires how she has overcome her own weaknesses and wants to find a way to thank her for all she does for him.
Todoroki: He is protective of her and is always asking if she’s okay. he constantly thinks about his parents’ relationship and worries about her getting hurt, psychologically or physically. This sometimes gets on her nerves, but when he opens up to her about his family she is understanding. She constantly feels like she needs to prove herself to him, that she is strong and capable. Despite their difficulties, they are working on communicating and having a stable relationship.
Mineta: There’s no world where he actually has an S/O.

In honour of rewatching the summer training camp arc I kinda wanna write a canon divergence au, where Tokoyami gets taken instead of Katsuki. It'd have a Shoutoko vibe, but not super strongly. But then I think, there probably aren't super many people who'd read it XD
Oh well, I mostly write for my own enjoyment anyway, we'll see if I feel up to it!
