Which anon were you??? I wish I was retired. Maybe the other fantabulous chlodine writers are just overwhelmed by their jobs or lives. I don't think they've ever stopped thinking about our treasure hunter pair, it's just too soul-satisfying a ship. I'm flattered but there are far better writers in the space than I.

Nadine didn't say I'm not in a huffy voice. In fact, she didn't say anything at all.
She was sat in the swing, one hand around a rubber-wrapped chain, dissociating off into the streetlit distance.
Maybe she'd wandered over while Chloe, mouth full of popcorn, tried to climb the caterpillar shaped metal rail in the middle of the playground. It looked more like modern art than something kids were supposed to climb on. Chloe had made a game out of balancing on it. She was too tall for the monkey bars and the slide had real kids, out for an evening walk with their mum and dad, playing on it.
"I can fix that."
Chloe threw her butt into the next swing over and swung backward with the motion, the creak of the swingset letting them know they were not the approved size for the equipment. But the vibration through the chains made Nadine stir.
"Sorry," she mumbled, rubbing her face. "I'm still thinking about it."
"You liked the movie?"
Nadine tried to scoff, but it was clear her heart wasn't in it. She reached over and took Chloe's hand.
"Honestly," Chloe muttered, feeling her fingers gently squeezed, "the first one was better."
"Oh, I don't know. It was..." Nadine said. "Well. Absurd. In a way that almost went all the way around to being realistic."
Chloe laughed.
"Well I'm not wrong, am I?"
"No, honey. I can see what you mean. Anyway...glad you liked it."
The child had gotten onto his little bicycle with its training wheels, and was moving over to the snakelike metal figure Chloe climbed. She stood up from the swing, shoving it back as she turned to Nadine. "Come on then, I'll give you a couple of pushes and we can let them have their play park back."
"I...really...don't need to be pushed."
"Shouldn't have gotten on the swing set then," Chloe moved behind her partner and put her hands on her shoulders. "And I've always wanted to push someone on the swings."
"A child, yes, Chloe," Nadine mumbled.
"Or an adorable little animal obsessive like you."
Chloe started her off with a gentle push. Even under the park's streetlights she could see Nadine blushing.
The forward and back pendulum seemed to give her some delight, however. She skidded herself to a stop in the dug-out dirt under the swing and untangled herself from it, turning to Chloe.
"I really am too big for it," she said. "I could hear it creaking."
But Nadine sank her cheek into Chloe's jacketed shoulder. Chloe brought her arms around Nadine's back.
"You were so picky about which one we'd see," Chloe murmured.
"Ja, have to sit there for what, two and a half hours? Might as well be a good one."
"I'm starting to see why you only have documentaries at your house."
"I'm smart," Nadine said. "You're starting to see why I'm smart."
"Right," Chloe said. "That's what I meant."
"Then we'll go home and watch one?" God, the little glitter in Nadine's eyes when she smiled.
But Chloe tried to keep her composure and smirked.
"Oooh, a double header?"

Fantasy au pt.2 :D
Hello again! This is an continuation from this post here! This time it's going to be shinji [kamui woods] centered!
Welp here's his design! I like it but i don't exactly love it so i may try to redesign for the 1000th time 😭.
So his basic backstory is that he was abandoned at a very young age for mysterious reasons. Do to him being so young he has no recollection of them. He lived in the forest for his whole life until he moved into the library (that is in a forest but u get the point.) His magic emulates natural abilities of trees and that's what let him live in the forest so long. One time though, he got attacked by an animal and got badly injured. This is when shinya [Edgeshot] found him and took him to his aunt to get treated. (His aunt is good with medical magic, herbs, ect.) He lived with shinya in the family house until they moved into the library.
So that's a pretty brief summary ofhiz backstory. I had a pretty good idea of what i wanted his to be since it's similar to the backstory hc i have for him in the og series. Also in this au shinya has a similar backstory to his but thats going to wait for now!
Also his ethnicity if you will in this au is woodlandelf mixed with something else 👀?
Design:
So yeah finding a design i semi liked for him was pretty hard 😭
I knew I wanted it to be earthly just didn't know how i wanted to do it.
I ended up basing some of his design off of a moth, specifically a brown one.
His veil thing is supposed to be based off of moth wings.
The things on his head are based both based off of moth wiggly things that my dyslexic ass can't spell & doesn't feel like looking up and leaves.
I also made sure it did a good job hiding his identity for reasons that'll make more sense later. (Hopefully atleast lol)
it's also supose to help him blend into the woods or other darker green areas.
Other details:
So when shinya and his aunt were treating him they found out the other half of his identity.
They are the only ones that know and have yet to even tell shinji about it in fear of him getting in danger.
Both of them encourage shinji to dress in secretive way especially if they're going out but they don't force him.
Shinji is already self conscious about the way he looks so it wasn't a very big deal.
He knows that he is mixed but like i said earlier he was never told what.
He gets pretty frustrated sometimes that no one will tell him what his other identity is but he knows that they're just trying to keep him safe.
He loves going on walks in the library's courtyard
Even if he's done it a million times it never gets old to him; there's always different in someway.
He also likes keep the intermediate part of the library's forest maintained. (It's the fenced in part. I may get more into it if i make a library specific post.)
He also likes taking care of any injured animals that wonder in.
Along with that he's also into art and often paints landscapes (mainly the forest)
He also likes painting flowers.
He also draws a bit but painting is his favorite.
He was quite excited to have yu [mt. Lady] move into the library with them. He's never lived with anyone besides his adopted family.
Her mannerisms and whatnot threw him off at first but he gets use to it.
Him and yu end up hitting it off pretty good!
Yu teaches him how to make jewelry and he teaches her to paint.
Having her around gives him a bit of a confidence boost and is overall a happier.
They bicker back and forth but it's more or less the "ur gay; no u" kind of bickering if that makes sense?
The bickering you probably do with ur friends is probably the best description i can come up with?
They start dating about 6-7 months after yu moves in.
Shinya notices the chance in both of them (more so with shinji) and starts to feel guilty for keeping him so isolated.
Shinya starts to let him and yu go out a bit because of this.
His aunt was a bit hesitant about this decision but she ends up agreeing with it and they both apologize to keeping shinji so isolated
They still haven't told him since they worry that he may accidentally slip up and accidentally tell someone.
Shinya is planning to tell him him soon but is weary to.
So that's what i have for now! I'll most likely do shinya next but I've been having trouble with his design as well 😭. But i hope u enjoyed the post! Lemme know if you ever have any questions about the series and I'll try to get to them!
And yes i purposely left out what shinji's other ethnicity was for y'all to suffer >:D

Bust a Groove 2 Character Tier List
based off of pretty much everything related to these characters, their design, song, stage, etc.
(yes i know nobody asked for this. You could probably count all the fans of this game on one hand lmao)
S Tier:
Robo Z Gold: Robo Z, but ten times cooler. Fantastic level, and you fight in a helicopter. The song is pretty mid but I think his presentation makes up for it.
Capoeira: They have some of the best choreography, one of the best songs, and one of the funnest levels. I still jam to Algretto Break. 10 billboards out of 10
Heat: His moves in this game aren't as good compared to the first game, but his song definitely makes up for that slight setback. Plus he's just a cool racecar driver that controls fire and breakdances.
A Tier:
Strike: His song is so ridiculously 90's but still manages to be catchy. Fun to play and one of my go-to characters
Tsutomu: Another one of my absolute favorites in this game. My only complaint about this little guy is that his dance animation look floaty sometimes!
B Tier:
Comet: Her song is one I both hate and like. It kind of drones on and onnnnnn, but it doesn't get that old? The main reason she isn't C Tier is because of her dance style. Rollerblade dance was something I hadn't even considered as a possiblity within the game. Props to her motion capture artist!
Pander: I know most people hate this guy, but c'mon. His inclusion in the game is so out of left field and it's HILARIOUS. His level is completely insane and is probably my favorite in the entire series. Not A Tier though, cause his dancing is uninteresting.
C Tier:
Kitty N: Not gonna lie, she was way better in the first game. Her dance style isn't as energetic here. An okay song.
Hiro: He's just the disco guy. That's pretty much it. His song doesn't live up to the first game either. I dig the aesthetic tho.
Bi-O: This guy is probably the world's worst dad and nowhere as cool as Gas-O. BUT, his design is cool and so is his attack.
D Tier:
Shorty: She got shafted. Went from being one of the most fun characters in the first game, to having lame ass moves and a mediocre song. An okay design.
Hustle Kong: I like his design. He monki. that's it
E Tier:
Columbo: It's Shorty's cute mouse that loves to clip into itself.
McLoad: He's a dinosaur I guess? WHY does he have Kelly's moves?? is it trying to seduce the audience?? They couldn't have made it one of Kelly's weird party friends or something?
F Tier:
Micheal Doi: his design is just bad. sorry not sorry. Also just serves as an unfunny gay stereotype.
Chichi and Sally: MORE CLIPPING, except not cool like when Capoeira does it. They're kinda cute I guess? Seriously, who plays as these guys?
Sushi Boy: Sushi Boy. what.

I feel like it’s a new era (it’s not), so let’s jump into Flash Vol 2, Issue 20 - Lost, Worthless and Forgotten

Ohhhhh boy THE CLIPPER! And little Mason, an impressionable and likely bizarre child.
Welp, Wally’s calling the cops on this guy who’s just trying to sleep somewhere. And Mason’s like “This isn’t the Depression, all those problems got solved.” Mason, my guy, what world are you living in.
Wait Wally’s having ANOTHER birthday? This’ll be the third one. Time is just flying by I guess.
Why is everyone getting evicted?? ALL of them? Aaaaaand then Wally and his mom get their stuff stolen. Super. He’s really pissed lol.
LMAO I would’ve loved to see an adventure with Wally, Scott and Ted. To be fair, he could probably call them up and still join. Wally in Paris would’ve been an absolute menace ha ha.
Wally’s magical girl transformation is great. Love that one of the steps is where he just gets completely naked(?) before putting on his normal clothes.
Hmmm usually magical transformations don’t include tripping and rolling into garbage cans.
So Wally’s speed is gone again. In one of the letters to the editor, Barbara called out that Wally is as fast as he allows himself to be. In fact, she said it very directly and deliberately. Losing his speed is definitely tied to his own confidence and anxiety.
Welp he’s really seeing what it’s like to be on the street with nothing, and to have people treating him like shit. Eating a pretzel that was in a street puddle? He’s really at an ATL, my friends.
Ohhh that guy from the beginning is vouching for him now! The guy he called the police on. Dang, dude. Just wow. They aren’t messing around in this one.
OH SHIT I DIDNT REALIZE THIS IS THE STORY THAT PIPER IS IN OH MY GOD IM HYPE I WAS DISAPPOINTED HE WASNT IN THE LAST ONE HEYO!!! but why does he look like that? :/ oh well

Final thoughts:
I’m glad to see Hartley finally! I guess he wouldn’t have been at the rogues’ party because it seems like he’s moved on from petty crime and doing more with his time now. Maybe he doesn’t want to be associated with them anymore. I wonder what his opinion of Wally is, especially since he seems to be aware that he’s down on his luck lately. This is NOT what I thought Piper was going to look like though lol.
I knew there was going to be even more focus on Wally’s misfortune bc I’d read another letter to the editor (printed in 21, but about 17), where someone asked if they were going to tackle issues like AIDS. The response was that they were diving into what it is to be homeless, and I thought that was interesting. As always, Wally's story continues to surprise me because I wouldn’t have expected this guy with amazing powers and such a legacy to be dealing with these kinds of problems. Yet here we are. And he’s clearly learning some lessons along the way. I just really didn’t any story about a guy who runs fast to get into social issues like this.

hi!! I've actually been meaning to get into transformers for some time now but it's a bit daunting with how much it seems to have. what would you consider a good entry point to get into it media-wise, like what show or movie to start with? ☺💕💕
Great question! Here are the two iterations that are the most newbie friendly IMO, just judging from how many people onboard into Transformers from them:
1. Transformers Prime - This is what got me back into Transformers after a long hiatus. Currently it’s on Netflix (and two seasons of it are on Tubi.)
Why it's great:
- AMAZING animation, like holy hell. Not only are the character models great, but their body language is so expressive
- Great character design. These robots look rad.
- Small cast with depth. I don't know what it is about the writing, but the cast is so believable. Like, you believe they had active lives before you ever saw them, instead of being written into existence.
- The humans are pretty fun imo. Most Transformers series have a couple human sidekicks and they can be hit or miss. I liked the humans in TFP, and I am notoriously picky about human characters, lol.

2. IDW comics "More Than Meets the Eye" and "Lost Light"
This comic was amazing. MTMTE and Lost Light feature the same stories / characters so I'm not sure why they renamed the series--probably marketing or something.
Why it's great:
- Amazing art and character designs.
- The plotline is NOT "Autobots and Decepticons battle on Earth." In fact it takes place after the war is done.
- Optimus and Bumblebee are not main characters. If you're new to TF you might be going "So what?" but believe me, this is rare.
- It's a comedy
- But also there is tragedy
- We get an exploration of pre-war Cybertronian society and wow was it fucked up
- An amazing amount of LGBTQ representation.
You know how TF started as a "boys toyline"? This resulted in nearly every TF character being male. A previous comic writer doubled down by claiming female TFs didn't even exist. Then the writer of THIS comic was like, "Welp, guess they’re all gay then." To top it off, he wrote in a planet of female Transformers, who are all gay too. (In Lost Light there's a transgender lesbian couple too.)
- Just amazing, intricate plotlines, just so good.
- Like TFP, still has a large active fanbase

Some other quite good Transformers shows:
- Transformers Animated
- Bumblebee: The Movie - They finally made a good live action TF movie. It’s set in the 80s, but also feels like it was made in the 80s, like you could picture this being in the same theater as E.T.
- Beast Wars; the CGI is from the 90s but the writing is sooo good, and most people get used to the CGI after two or three episodes.
- G1 Transformers, if you don't mind cheesy puns. Basically if you liked G1 My Little Pony 'n Friends you'll probably like G1 Transformers, they were literally written by the same people. On Youtube.
- Cyberverse - I wouldn't say it's strictly good, the pacing is very wonky in places. The episodes are only 15 minutes long and the writers were definitely struggling with that constraint. It did have a lot of creative ideas, though, and I thought it was fun. On Youtube.

Series I would not recommend:
- Netflix series War For Cybertron (consisting of Siege, Earthrise, and Kingdom) - It assumes the viewer already knows everything about Transformers, which is weird. Like characters will have a major onscreen presence for several episodes without an introduction, they don't explain what the Matrix of Leadership is, etc. It's also boring.
- The Unicron trilogy (consisting of Armada, Cybertron, and Energon) - Armada isn't great, and the other two are just plain bad.

No, Ivan chides himself. Don’t be ridiculous. Fedya already hated the lighthouse; you think he would ever want to spend the rest of his existence trapped in the frozen wastes of nowhere? You still don’t even know which country this is. He wants a city and the comforts that he’s used to, you would have to give him that. Besides, when you get to civilization and he’s not utterly dependent on you to keep him alive, he will say thank you, give you a handshake, and vanish into the crowd. He said that he would kill anyone who hurt you – but would he? Would he? You are too old, Ivan Ivanovich. Too grumpy, too used, too tired. He couldn’t. He deserves better, and as soon as he has literally anyone else to compare you to, he will see that at once.
we need to talk about this passage from ch. 12 of lighthouse au. for many reasons. one of which is the fact that if fedyor knew ivan was thinking this, he’d probably pull out his own hair and eat it. And while i dont see fedyor as someone who particularly craves solitude in the way ivan does — lol obviously the fete scene — Fedyor does have this other layer in lighthouse au where he just seems so exhausted. and we kinda talk about this with ivan (or we at least joke about it lol), but fedyor is so emotionally and physically exhausted — not just from the past few days, but for years. and now he’s finally met this man who loves to listen to his voice and his thoughts and who makes him feel so safe and loved for who he is and i think fedyor would love nothing more than to just be left the fuck alone with Ivan.
I dont think Fedyor would necessarily love being in that much solitude forever (lol and his thoughts on surviving in nature in ch.13 are iconic), but if he could be assured that Ivan and him get to be safe, left alone, and finally get to just be together and enjoy their little domestic bubble where they can spend the nights laughing and loving each other — yea, Fedyor would pick that a thousand times over.
and of course. ivan. ivanovich. that motherfucker. doesnt realize this.
Lmao, well, we can all agree that literally EVERYTHING Ivan thought in that entire passage was wrong, bless his dumbass heart. (To his credit, he did kinda realize it was bad brain voice talking and try to shut it up, but still.) You're absolutely right that lighthouse Fedyor is deeply, deeply exhausted from having to survive in the 1970s/80s USSR as a gay left-wing academic, when none of those things are welcome, supported, or allowed to be visible. He's been living a double life even more than most Soviet citizens, he comes from a respectable family with good connections so he's had a little leeway before, but now he doesn't, and it's just... exhausting. He's spent five years trying to think how the hell he's going to get out of here, he trashed it for Ivan (which he doesn't regret, but it has indisputably gotten them into a lot of trouble) and now he's stuck on a horrible wilderness adventure all on his lonesome. Poor man. He would LOVE some time to just be alone with Ivan and to feel safe and to recuperate from all their misadventures. Not forever, but... a while.
But yes, alas, Ivan Ivanovich That Motherfucker does not realize this, and is still mostly convinced that as soon as they get to civilization and Fedyor doesn't need him any more, he will cut his losses and get out of there. Now they're separated, and don't know where the other is or what they're doing, and You Know Who has made his dramatic garbage ho arrival on Ivan's end. So. Welp.

What's ur fave / least fave trait of each of the 8 (the wilds)?
whew okay so i waited to finish watching the show before i answered this so sorry for the wait anon!
first off let’s start with my absolute fav, nora. my fav trait of hers is that she loves her sister so fcking much and is so loyal to her (to a fault). i also love how she is with her social anxiety, she’s not ashamed of it, she just knows it makes her different from a lot of people. finally, my least fav has to be that bec she loves rachel so much, a lot of her life is devoted to her. she makes rachel’s needs her needs that she loses herself.... its my least fav bec this is specifically a call out to me and it reminds me of my tendency to do this with the people i love the most welp
bringing us to rachel. she’s so so strong and brave and committed and that’s my fav thing about her. i feel like when you’re in her good graces its amazing to be around her but when you’re not, like with leah, she can make your life a living hell which is my least fav thing abt her
so leah,,,,leah leah leah. i just love how unhinged she is tbh. you know how there are posts on here that are like, ‘i just wanna see girls go unhinged blah blah’ that’s her that’s leah fcking rilke ladies and gents. least fav thing: her intensity would probably disturb my own emotional stability irl
my next fav! dot. man she’s such a calming steady force you know? she gives people what they need at the right time with no judgments. if i were on a deserted island id want her to be there with me. my least fav thing abt her is that she’s not gay and in love with fatin lol
fatin, another fav of mine. she has been the most chill out of the group and i want what she has. she’s also so intuitive and sure of herself that literally no one can shame her for anything. again, i want what she has. least fav thing is that she isnt explicitly said to be bi bec lbr she is
next up is marty. i honestly love anyone who can deal and be close with fiery and intense people like toni. and i know that part of her positivity and optimism was denial of the very dark parts of her world but still, i admire that she maintains a level of optimism in the bleakest of situations. as for least fav trait, is the unhealthy denial i guess
now for the gays. toni, i love how she went from the most intense out of the group to the most calm at the end. girl really started out distrusting shelby and lowkey possessive of marty to trusting shelby completely and giving marty space to be with herself. another thing is that she’s also not ashamed of being gay and she rightly never gave shelby an inch with her whole ‘hate the sin not the sinner’ religious stuff which is a++ in my book. lastly this is just my initial thoughts after having just finished the show but i think she was one of the girls with the most character development
speaking of character development, shelby with the golden hair and golden eyes. or idk it looked golden to me lol so here’s the thing, im catholic and im always interested in seeing gay people with that extent of internalized homophobia due to religious indoctrination deal with their own queerness and i love seeing her choose to let go of the shame and love freely instead of the opposite. her first concern after hooking up with toni was literally if it meant something to toni, not what it meant about her sexuality and UGH i love that
this was somewhat of a full blown essay lol but these were some of my thoughts on the unsinkable eight! i love them all tbh and i cant wait to see them again in the next season!

Lol, welp, since your submission page does say you’re accepting people venting their opinion about something, and other anons you’re getting today have made this topical, I’m going to submit a bit of a frustrated opinion piece to you here- though I totally understand if you don’t want to post it if you think others might take it the wrong way and feel like it’s inciting drama or something.
So bit of a hot take here, but I hold the opinion that Jikookers who insist that the post SY Final emails from TKers/hetshippers about stopping Jikook’s ‘gay performances’ worked, and that Jikook has ‘barely breathed’ and stopped interacting in public since then specifically because Big Hit won’t ‘let’ them because of those complaints, because they’re now trying to suppress their relationship and please Taekookers, are almost as frustrating as the crowd that starts weeping about how Jikook broke up every single time we go a week without a new moment at this point- it’s just two different forms of baseless hysteria grounded in insecurity. There’s a reason TKers have been widely mocked for coming up with conspiracy theories about how BH has turned TK into a tragic, forbidden love that is forced to stay apart, and I just hate seeing so many of us turn around and do the exact same thing the second we miss the boys for a minute. Now, allow to me explain WHY I think this idea is so silly, if I may
I guarantee that Big Hit gets complaints and demands about EVERYTHING related to the boys, that’s just the nature of overseeing literally the biggest band in the world- and yet people truly believe that of all the things they hear about, they caved to the emailed demands of what was most likely not even actually a full 100 people among BTS’s 1mil+ person fan base? You’re giving what was most likely a double digit amount of TKers (whenever anyone tries to bust out a tweet of people complaining about all the Jikook interactions that night that has triple digit likes, as if that’s proof that hundreds upon HUNDREDS of people were emailing Big Hit, I have to roll my eyes; one, a lot of that those likes probably come from people who have multiple accounts, and two, there’s way less energy involved with hitting like on a tweet than composing and sending an email-I would bet you anything that the vast majority of people who did the former never actually followed through with the latter. Not to mention that even if it actually had been a few hundred, which it almost definitely wasn’t, that’s STILL a completely insignificant portion of BTS’s fanbase) entirely too much credit if you think BH started suddenly declaring how and when JM and JK are allowed to interact just because of them; frankly, BH likely gets WAY more nutso emails from people about dumb things like wanting Tae publicly flogged for vaping or wanting JK kicked out of the group for having tattoos than they ever have about shipping matters- I’d be shocked if this particular issue was even a blip on the radar, or ever went beyond the administrative assistant in charge of sorting through fan emails laughing to themself as they deleted the nonsense.
But hey, let’s say the emails DID make it to the higher-ups at Big Hit and they WERE aware of them- thinking they started keeping Jikook apart because of them requires assuming BH places more weight into a few pressed emails than they do the entire sold out stadium being filled with the sound of hysterical, supportive, happy screaming every time Jikook were acting boo’d up that night, and, uh… WHY would you assume that, lol? Even IF BigHit is hypersensitive to how Army responds to specific ships, which I honestly doubt, I promise you any company would care more about the real-time reaction of a 60000 person true random sampling of the band’s fan base than a comparatively TINY amount of emails or tweets that, for all they know, are just being spammed by the same five people with an agenda across different accounts, and that real-time reaction to Jikook from 60000 random fans was extremely positive. Not to mention how Jikook is more popular than Taekook with both K-Army and J-Army, and it’s only I-Army that Taekook has the edge with; why does anyone think Big Hit cares more about a shipping subset of their third biggest market than a shipping subset of their first two biggest markets, if they’re going to care about shipping at all?
Then there’s the issue where I also think it’s kind of insulting to Jimin and Jungkook to suggest they would have even stood for being forcibly distanced to please some pissy Taekook fans, TBH. I’m not saying they get to live their lives as openly as they want 100% of the time, obviously as Idols there are things they make big concessions about, but Jungkook is a man who has been acknowledging since 2014 that a lot of their fans would be very upset with him if he ever got a tattoo, and who then still proceeded to get 20+ of them because that’s what HE wanted, Jimin is a man who saw fans complaining his shirt was too revealing and he should stop wearing it and proceeded to wear that shirt as often as possible throughout the next few weeks to make a point- you think they’d put up a fight like that for tattoos and clothes, but not for the person that we as Jikookers are assuming is their beloved partner? That’s not even getting into Jungkook being so vocal and so brave with gestures like GCF Tokyo and Rose Bowl; I would bet you anything that same man would not sit there quietly and nod along if an executive tried to order him to stop being seen with Jimin and start playing up his friendship with Taehyung for the camera more often, all just so they could please some obnoxious American teenagers.
And finally, and what might be the biggest point to me- the ‘Jikook has been dead since then!’ and ‘Something is clearly off between them since then!’ narratives are SO exaggerated by Jikookers anyway, ones who have lost all perspective about how they haven’t been in public much since November, and they both barely use social media anymore, so ALL content from them drops off dramatically when there’s no tour, no promotions, and no appearances happening. Shippers keep complaining that we’ve had barely any new content in 2020, it’s all been stuff that was filmed in 2019 and just released now, waaah, and I’m just like ‘…uh, yeah, and that’s the case for literally every ship involving Jimin or Jungkook, because the three weeks of album promotion we got are basically all either of them have been seen for this year.’ If they were both constantly around and acting affectionate with other members while visibly icing only each other out, then maybe I could get the conspiracy theories, but I genuinely can’t recall any significant interactions either of them have had with other members outside of the clearly planned and scheduled V-Lives- not that this means the interactions in said V-lives weren’t genuine and cute, for the record! But it’s not like Jungkook was just hanging out at Tae’s apartment and they spontaneously decided to go live- Big Hit clearly had these particular lives mapped out and they’ve essentially been part of the boys’ current work schedule. They’ve both made themselves scarce, period, you can’t get ‘fed’ by people who just straight up aren’t making public appearances or using their social media accounts- and when we HAVE seen them, like in the last two OT7 lives, they’ve very much seemed like their normal selves and have been right by each other’s side, per usual. Also, when you look back on years in your mind as a compilation of significant moments, it makes you forget that even in 2018 and 2019, it wasn’t uncommon to go weeks or months between content; your brain just selectively filters out the time in-between that you spent waiting to remember only the good stuff we got those years, and it makes it feel like it was a constant flood of moments happening all at once; you remember ALL of 2018 and 2019 as their respective best dozen moments, forgetting that there was plenty of time in between even then, and that Jikookers frequently threw embarrassing fits about how they had clearly broken up any time their ‘feeding schedule’ was off for a few weeks even then.
And I mean, the face smushing pictures that have already become a Jikook fandom all time favorite moment were post SYF, the chest groping performance of Home was post SYF, them lovingly smiling while singing The Earth Traveler directly to each other and the behind the scenes clip of them looking just as smitten during the recording was post SYF, the extremely flirty and domestic New Year’s VLive that had Jikook fandom dying was post SYF, the video of them flirting about how long they’ve been a unit was post SYF (not to mention how Big Hit deciding to give them a photobook subunit in the first place, or deciding to include that flirty footage in the album release event stream, were both choices made post SYF), the big Jikook feast that was Winter Package was post SYF (and again, BH didn’t HAVE to include all that Jikook footage, and they DEFINITELY didn’t have to write the very shippy captions that one had- they chose to), Jimin holding Jungkook’s arm in the airport was post SYF, them holding hands while walking off stage at the Japan muster was post SYF, Jungkook calling Jimin cute and sexy during the album release and all of their flirting across the table and hugging and touchiness that same night was post SYF, the V-Live where Jimin was being very affectionate with Jungkook and there was that adorable minute long sequence where you could tell how badly they were fighting the instinct to hold hands was post SYF, Jungkook publicly and proudly losing his mind over Jimin the Black Swan reaction video was post SYF, them choosing to let us see them happily riding home together was post SYF, Jungkook stopping dead in his tracks and abandoning the routine to just lovingly stare at Jimin for two minutes straight during Carpool Karaoke was post SYF, the cuddling and spooning during recent Run BTS episodes was filmed prior to then, but BH’s decision to include the footage and post the photo was post SYF, same with all the season’s greeting Jikook footage, same with BH deciding to make the 5th Muster DVD an all out Jikook holy grail, same with BH having the Speak Yourself Japan behind-the-scenes footage be more Jikook than anything else. If that’s Jikook after supposedly being ordered to stay away from each other or to at least ‘tone down the gay’, and if Big Hit’s idea of pulling back on Jikook means still having the behind the scenes footage on the next 4 paid content DVD releases be LOADED with Jikook and basically revolve around their interactions, then call me crazy, but I think things are gonna be okay

I wrote this post some time ago as a reply to someone and now I somehow want to post it again with some changes lol
TW: mentions of murder, referenced canon abuse and swearing
Let’s talk about redemption arcs and people’s overwhelming desire to punish fictional characters for what they did... Inspired by Endeavor hate ngl... I mostly speak about fictional charcters in this post so pllease, don’t go dumb and understand that fictional characters and irl people should be treated differently
I think sometimes people don`t understand why punishment exists in our society at all. Like, why couldn`t we just forgive? Why punishment is needed? Oh, I would like to talk about behavioural psychology, but it is kinda creepy so instead let`s remember what my teacher of LAWS said(idk what you call it in your bitchass America)
Punishment basically serves two functions:
Preventative (show others and a person that they can’t just get away with their deeds). Like, if you knew that there are no negative consequences, wouldn`t you do it? Wouldn`t you kill the old lady?
Correction and all work with a person in general (for example, you can be forced to go through some psychological help)
Also, I lied there’s one more: compensation. Like, if you stole something, then bring money back, you little shit. Or pay for therapy for your victim
So when we put it into stories and so popular nowadays redemption arcs (which I fucking adore if they are done correctly) we have 4 points out of this 3 cause the first one can be put into two
Character is punished to show others that this is not something you should do (it’s a kinda societal thing and has nothing to do with character in particular. This point in general is not interesting because it doesn’t drives changes in person by itself)
Character is punished so he himself would think twice before doing this shit again (we can’t know if person’s remorse is genuine so it’s better to simply scare them. But I can allow skipping this point if person’s remorse is clealy shown to be genuine and we as readers understand that. That’s probably the big distinction we, as readers, should see: while irl we never know persons true motives, work of fiction can provide them to us clearly)
Character changes and understands what is wrong in what he has done (the part of redemption we all love and enjoy)
Characters work hard to correct or atone for their mistakes
As we can see first two bullets has nothing to do with character development and serve for the purpose of maintaining order. The third one IS a character development and the last one is what makes people actually forgive horrible actions and not go ape shit I guess. But for some of us nothing is enough, isn`t it?
And there is one more shit that is often in redemption arcs and that shit is great and I fucking love it
Explanation of the character’s behaviour, their reasoning and motivation
I truly enjoy reading about WHY characters behave a certain way but people, remember, SAD BACKSTORY IS NEVER AN EXCUSE FOR YOUR ACTIONS. Same goes to your mental problems and hard life situation. The fact that behaviour can be explained doesn’t mean shit. Like, behaviour also follows certain laws and despite the fact that it’s sometimes hard to understand all the details we still theoretically can explain ANY BEHAVIOUR. Does this mean we can excuse any behaviour? HELL NO
So remember folks, “They had their reasons to do this” means nothing most of the time. “I wanted to try how it feels” is actually a valid reason to kill someone, you know. Of course, if crimes is not severe, reasoning suddenly can be very important like we won`t punish harshly someone who stole bread cause he is starving or cause he has kleptomania (I mean as a literal disorder). But even in that case you must pay back money cause like stealing is bad but eat the rich
let`s talk examples from bnha cause why not
Endeavour
We have Enji oh my baby you have done so much stupid shit you dumbass. Sad backstory even if will be brought up in the future, currently is not a focus of redemption at all. Like, he even doesn`t explain his behaviour too much. “He want to be the strongest, so he decided that even if his genes will make it to the top it will be enough. As a result, blinded by his goal, he abused his family”. Basically, it`s all the explanation we have right now. And if Hori stops at it I will be fine with it. Honestly, as much as I want to learn more about Enji’s past if Horikoshi leaves everything at this I would give him nothing but mad respect cause... This kind of shows that your reasoning doesn’t matter that much if you did horrifying things
So 3 points to redeem someone
Enji didn’t suffer any punishment for his actions (nightmares are considered punishment only if you believe in God. Also, too weak, God, try harder... And same goes for High-End). When I think about him being punished I actually worry about society’s reaction cause, like, he is number 1 hero and the fact that he’s an abuser will be, like, very shocking to simple people.Trust in hero will fall harder than my will to live during 2020. And honestly, media would just turn this into a drama possibly hurting other members of his family, like.... Enji being legally punished for his action would be an interesting plotline but in general I am not a fan
We see his genuine remorse and character growth. We all agree that he even is drawn differently now changed and trying to become a better person, yeah? Clumsily at first, but he genuinely works hard to be a better peron, hero and father. I can respecct that
Compensation… Well, you can exactly “correct” trauma so he should pay up for psychologists for each child he probably should follow the path of atonement and try to give them something he robbed them from. Like, go to family dinners with Fuyumi even though every last one of them is a disaster and nobody is happy to be there. Or make everything possible to provide Rei calm life with her children (like building a new house, yes, this is an amazing thing) or at least become *reducted cause I wanna this post to be serious and SFW*... Tbh I have nothing to say, he himself says multiple times that he seeks nothing but atonment, not even forgiveness
So like you better work bitch to make your family happy bastard... [And tbh they seem so much better then when I first wrote this post, I am so proud of you, my garbage fire man]
Overhaul
In no way is he redeemed but somehow people put Overhaul and Endeavor stans in the same category so here he goes
Kai has something Enji doesn’t: very good and detailed explanation, a plan, a smart reasoning. His wrong deeds were basically for a better good he believed in. But we all collectively hate him for what he done to Eri despite his actions having r E A S o n S. Dude has some MOTIVATION. So like yeah bros. It makes him an interesting character and he is an amazing villain but dude deserves to rot in prisons. He shows no remorse and I am gonna bet he won`t even think about somehow helping others. Dude is a shitty person. And I fucking love him
So let’s go for our 3 bullets again
Punishment. Yes, he is punished, he is in jail with both his hands cut off. Would it make people forgive him? Nah
Personal growth. I would like to see it but as far we saw barely no growth... Though maybe being in jail without quirk will make his brain work
Atonement... Dude has a Messiah complex, I ain’t waiting for that anytime soon
So I asked myself if I had two men: one who spent a sentence in jail for child abuse but is more or less the same person and another who wasn’t punished for his abuse but feel genuine remorse and actively try to make things better who will I choose? Of course, I will choose Pikachu
But is it possible to redeem Overhaul? I wonder if there`s a force in this world strong enough to make him become a better person. Welp... I am a sucker for redemptions, justt letting you know

Oh, he is irredeemable (and this is sexy). Why is he here? Cause, well
Even if he is punished there`s no punishment severe enough to describe how horrifying his deeds are
Even if he is to feel remorse… he has like 500 years or something??? And he didn`t feel anything killing people??? So why would he change today?
Even if he atone for what he’s done… I am to believe he started at least a civil war. You can`t atone for that bitch. You crossed all fucking lines, all fucking lines
AfO is literally the most evvil man in bnha... I don’t want to see him redeemed cause I love characters that are pure evil and I love the despair of realizing you can’t fix what you have done. I just love to think Doctor Ujiko is gay for him
Anyway, why do people like to make this characters suffer? Like, Endeavor, Minoru, Overhaul, many others? Is this part of the “punishment” to feel like person paid for their deeds? Or do people just like fictional violence and punishing “bad” characters make them feel good about themselves? Who knows

thank you lol sorry it took me a minute to get to posting these answers......i also skipped a couple that got asked previously via answering all primes lol
1: What inspires you?
hm well just basic stuff like “being in a good mood” lol or “being hyped up by friends” or “having reason to be particularly excited about something” which is all like, factors that Contribute Energy......learning about stuff / trying something and discovering like oh i’m Into this thing, or that for whatever reason something turns out to be more within reach / doable than i might’ve thought, like, hey i wanna get on this maybe.......~creatively~ it’s great to like, see other ppl’s art, and while i’ve sure been Inspired by professional artists, overall i’m more like, influenced and motivated by seeing the styles / specific works of Online Randos like me.......i also Draw to create [self-indulgent (usually fairly) niche fanart which is also probably gay and is all the time of characters i like] so like, the Stuff I Wanna Make Fanart Of (which has Whatever characters i specifically would like to draw lol) is sure directly Inspiring in that way. i’d say i never had that experience of like, ppl being kids and seeing some [distributed work in a certain art medium] like oh i want to make my own [distributed work in a certain art medium] as in like, i wanna publish a book, i wanna make movies, etc, but i guess i Did b/c i was like elementary school age in the early-to-mid 00s and experienced some instances of online fanart like :o :o wow damn ppl can do that?? just be a rando drawing fanart and sharing it w/ other people online???? and today i am living that dream, so good for me lol. and also i’d like to shoutout marge simpson anime, which is a particular piece of Online Art (technically fanart even lol) which was like, unusually Motivating as a single work of art lol, i made a notes app fanart like immediately and then a way more “painterly” piece of fanart that was v directly inspired by it lol.......and i was sure Drawing It Up last last winter when bmc 3.0 was impending / happening, b/c i got into like Just in the dec before, so that was Fresh, and then bam the Content is happening concurrently and as soon as we even just learned that jeremy has glasses i immediately spent like honestly 25 consecutive hours making fanart for that exact Inspiration. we didn’t even know abt the hello kitty shoes yet!!! and naturally im not out here for stats or clout but it is Inspiring when ppl enjoy the stuff i make and let me know one way or another. [tag comments that express enthusiasm in any way.....Appreciated]
9: Do you trust people easily, or do people have to earn your trust?
i have to say i am wary! that’s in part just like, a default anxiety defensive mode lol. but it takes me a hot minute (aka weeks....or months.....) to realize when someone like, would like to be friends or something, so while i can be Friendly and Outgoing w/ people like, immediately, i’m not picking up relationships left and right that are close enough that i’d particularly talk about “trust” or whatever. i’m not necessarily Distrustful either lol, it’s more just like, again re: the constant wariness thing. it is not unlike a cat lmao i vibe with them lol i Get that [approach]....and there’s been times i’ve been like “hmm i sure do Not vibe with this person ever and am not comfortable around them / interacting with them to any extent beyond occasional casual interactions that i don’t super enjoy. that’s me being overly anxious and failing to be personable i guess!!” and then that person Does give that reason down the line like oh, actually, that eternal uneasiness was warranted :/ damb

yknow i was like “didn’t i Also answer this one previously” but it turned out the question i was thinking of, which i Had answered, was “how does someone become important to you” lmao.....same diff
tbh it’s kind of an arduous process lmao like. first of all i am Bad about initiating shit, and a lot of times will like, be wary of Directly Interacting with people for a while b/c i am also Bad At not being too passive / unwilling to assert anything so like, if someone’s regularly interacting with me but i’m not into it / Eventually Realize i’m not into it, it’s that thing again where my main strat is [v gradually sidle away] lol and just find it difficult to extricate myself from interactions / relationships and so that plays into me really feeling like i have to have some real confidence that i’d get on with / vibe with someone Before i start significantly interacting with / getting involved with them which....is also difficult natch lol like. can’t rly get a great feel for what someone’s like w/o talking to them.......but then if i Distance myself at all at any point will that be taken as rejection or whatever.......and then anyways say i Am talking to someone, then it’s like, also i’m just not fantastic at casual conversation always and that stage where you don’t know someone too well and talking is mostly a Polite Ritual and it’s like oh god don’t mess up, respond Normally lmaoo......i am nervous. and i also have a tendency to just naturally try to make an interaction go smoothly than immediately prioritize / feel comfortable busting out My Personality lmao.....so then even if ppl are responding well enough it’s like ah jeez i know we’re all performing always but have i shown them What I’m Actually Like to any significant degree, am i just masking it up / mirroring the crap out of how they talk?? and also it then takes me quite a while to put together “if someone keeps talking to you / choosing to interact with you for like, weeks, it probably means they want to / are interested in doing so” lol.........and then i’ll take ages more of trying to consciously Be More Myself without *also* feeling like this is too much of an act lol, and gradually picking up like oh they’re still not like, annoyed or disinterested or something..............what i am trying to say is it sure takes a minute lol
also when i Am attempting sometimes to like [initiate interaction] with people my version of being Active is still not all that active lmao i will be like [occasional Like] or [even more occasional reply] or [tag comments or no comments coz it’s twitter and im rt-ing stuff] and it’s like oh wow if we’re not having more regular interaction i suppose i’ve failed or something?? does this mean anything further lol, did i do anything.....but welp gotta have that perspective that Not Necessarily lol and i’m not the only person in the world who might not make friends or even friendly acquaintances easily / at the drop of a hat and u can’t necessarily read way into shit that hasn’t Actually been communicated to you.......naturally though it is easier to have some ~perspective~ and Serenity about all this sort of thing when you do already have some Friends lmao........been feeling (and consciously nudging myself towards feeling) More Chill about say like, friendly acquaintances i have who aren’t raring to interact with me on the reg.......ppl i’ll go months or half a year or more between having a convo with and then we’ll be like trading dm’s for a couple days and then it’s back to not really talking, and that Is What It Is, not necessarily a tragedy, and really it feels “rude” to acknowledge to myself like oh i’m not sure that me and whomever even Vibe well enough that *i’d* be raring to talk all the time either, but hey, it’s also true, i don’t have to be Validated by ppl who know me having me in their friend circles in any significant way......i be out here on the peripheral / outer orbits and i can appreciate that for what it is, even if, again, easier to be more Cool with that when i’m not Only in ppl’s periphery...........i appreciate the pal i have who like, 99% of how we Communicate is occasionally sending each other pics of our cats, not very intimate but also back when i was offline for months on end they eventually went out of their way to find someone to get in touch with to verify i hadn’t like died or anything lol........i appreciate the Gestures of Caring that ppl have and do extend, even if we do not actually talk regularly.
and like also i’m bad at like. idk the main way i talk is again, At Some Length and often about real specific shit lol so im like woop aware that many ppl are not into that, or they might be down for having an exchange like that for a day and then they’re done.........not at all like wholly Against more lol Conversational conversations but i gotta say that’s more of a struggle lmao..........so let’s say befriending me takes some Patience. i kinda operate on [cat] rules. jellicle
25: How do you stop yourself from going back to toxic people?
i absolutely am Refraining from launching off on a ted talk of a tangent that is also me being the [the guy about to throw down a card on the pile on the table and that card pile is like “any conversation” and the guy is labeled “me” and the One Card about to be played is labeled “it’s capitalism” or smthing like that and also it’s all in spanish].jpg.......
anyways idk just try to keep things in perspective, right......i generally am pretty Passive about gradually sidling away from relationships that are bad and so by the time i Have exited them it’s pretty overdue lmao and i get to be quite confident that it was The Right Thing........and just when looking back on stuff it’s like, well if you remember the Good or “Not That Bad(tm)” parts maybe consciously think about the whole of it And specifically the Bad parts / the reasons for peacing out.......also the other day i was mulling over some standard [conflicted / complicated feelings about having cut certain ppl out entirely] and it also occurred to me that a lot of the [conflicted] feeling part came from sympathy for them, whereas from the perspective of Entirely My Own Feelings On The Matter minus that “how do/would they feel about it” consideration, the thought of never interacting w/ these ppl is like. fine with me lol........stuff like this is always Complicated and Individual and there’s certainly no like, one-stop simple Guide To Navigating All This Kind Of Thing, Cmon It’s Easy........another consideration i saw the other day via a graphic on twitter, which is probably most relevant re: say, controlling / abusive Partners, was how like, to think about how someone is acting if they’re saying you should Take Them Back b/c they’ve Changed their behavior, but to pay attention to if they’re trying to guilt you into it / justifying or downplaying their previous behavior / shifting blame and otherwise manifesting the inherently harmful and controlling patterns that are supposed to be gone now........anyways yeah complicated stuff and also just p.s. (and what would’ve been the jumping off point for the It’s-Capitalism tangential essay lol) ppl shouldn’t be blamed if they do choose to let someone back in their life like oh now they’re responsible for bringing their mistreatment upon themself.....no better than blaming someone for, say, having a harmful / controlling romantic partner in the first place like oh well they should’ve known better than to have gotten involved with this person..........ppl are in control of their own abusive behavior and shouldn’t be considered Forces Of Nature no matter how intransigent they are

another #tbt to question 1 lol.......i mean Yes i am creative in ways but like, who Isn’t, really.......think sometimes “creativity” means “do you like, do Art things” which, yes i do, but then within that there’s art that’s deemed more ~creative~ or w/e......not to mention that i don’t think something has to be definitively labeled an Art to be creative. like, for example, Science and Art aren’t opposites / the antithesis of each other, and anytime defines ~science~ as like, people just memorizing and outputting Facts and Numbers and considers this a distinction from Being An Artist.....wild and i Will fight you lmao. i tell you i can v much remember times i have had to completely disengage to keep from losing my cool at people arguing about “why i respect science but could only be an artist :’|” or “why Art is actually harder than Science and also we’re the underdogs b/c society values science so much more :’|” like.....mf...........anyways scientific pursuits may certainly have a different Methodology (see: scientific method) than art but lbr it still requires creativity and science and art are friends you fucking fools................and then also just zooming in on the Art-Making business here, i also like, have never had any interest in coming up with Original stories / characters and the like, and i don’t enjoy trying and it just really is not my thing, and it’s Funny or something when people wanna say that creative fanworks have value b/c they let ppl cut their teeth for what really matters, inevitably making their own original content(tm)......that isn’t inevitable for me lol and certainly is nothing i aim to do ever, and when there’s the suggestion that if you’re Good enough at ur medium you gotta manifest some of that original the character do not steal shit.........anyways i’m not pressed to claim i am an Artist(tm) or Creative(tm) lol like i guess technically i am both but i have no professional aspirations and my brain does not Do [generate original content] so it’s all like, i’m just out here.........s/o to this time i was trying to do my fuckin thing drawing on a tablet in a cafe and some random annoying guy is trying to talk and i happen to mention like “lol i don’t exactly call myself an artist really” and Guy goes “OH REALLY??? yeah i think i’m alright but really what is the use in like considering there 2 be achievable Good or Bad Person Statuses for everyone........let’s say it’s an ongoing, active state to be in the process of consciously choosing to be Good and working towards Better. especially considering that We Live In A Society which tries to teach everyone and continuously imbues our existence with Bad Messages about how to perceive and engage with other people, and being A Good Person is a lifelong effort and it’s unhelpful to feel that if you’re already Good or well-intentioned enough you can just dust off your hands and be like “well my work here is done” and be unprepared to examine your beliefs/actions or deal with the might-as-well-assume-it’s-an-inevitability that even if u have some noble-ass beliefs you’ll fail to live up to them at some point/s.......so like yeah lol again i feel like i am a pretty good person but can always be better and ought to be aware of / willing to work on that at any point

So uh, someone sent me an ask about my opinions of the different adaptations of mdzs (and cql) but I accidentally deleted it. Anon pls forgive me.
Anyways here’s the answer under a cut so I don’t spam anyone with my opinions (unless you wanna know I guess in which case thanks???) Warning: I got a little more into this than I probably should have.
I’m just gonna do them in bullet points it’s just easier. At least while I’m on desktop lol.
The novel
It’s a really great read overall. I love the details and the comedic aspect of the story and characters really shines in the novel. However I can’t say all too much because I’m still actually struggling to finish reading it.
The reason for this is because I actually...hate reading Chinese-To-English novels. Not saying the English fan-translation is bad, and in fact I think Exiled Rebels Scans did an amazing job with it (there are some nitpicks, but eh, they’re providing free content with no compensation they deserve all the praise regardless). I just hate it because, as a Chinese person, you tend to notice all the things that are lost in translation or things that just CAN’T be translated properly. I’m currently reading the Chinese version, but my Chinese reading isn’t great so it’s taking a while.
The animation
My personal favourite, but mostly because I’m biased towards animation in general LMAO. It was also my starting point into the franchise. My friend, who I hadn’t seen in 10 months at that point, came to my house and made me watch the first two episodes. I finished the anime at like 6am from that same night. Safe to say I had fallen into hell.
The only things I didn’t like about the anime was the fact that it was clearly rushed, which is why I’m okay with season 3 coming out in 2021, and the fact that I’m PRETTY SURE the censorships hit it and we’re not gonna be getting any on-screen gay. I mean the only scene that displayed this was the scene where WWX pretended to be attracted to LWJ to get JC off his back, but that scene was played off as him flirting with EVERYTHING on the basis that he was insane, but gay. So yeah, I’m not expecting gay but eh.
Unpopular opinion, but anime!WWX has my favourite WWX voice. I love the audio drama/CQL voice, but I just love the playful notes of anime!WWX’s voice.
The anime also amps the dramatic flair of literally everything up to 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. As much as I love the other adaptations, you can’t really beat the anime in terms of it being the drama queen of the adaptations. I love it. Also, it was therapeutic to see Wen Chao torn to shreds and beheaded the way it was done in the anime.
The manhua
The manhua actually has my favourite art style of the adaptations, I like it even more so than the anime. Also props to them for making teen!WWX look different from Mo XuanYu (seriously, help me I’m a confused dumbass okay)
I’m...not a fan of the pacing. The pacing of the manhua for like the first few arcs was just so rushed and confusing, and because of the more comedic nature of the manhua as a whole, sometimes the seriousness of the scene just falls flat (e.g. the Mo Manor scene with the fierce corpses, it was so...dull). Then Yi City comes along and that arc alone seemed to last like 62 years. While I like the characters, I’m not a major fan of the arc itself, so I was mildly peeved. Oh well.
The audio drama
To be fair, I’ve only heard like 3 episodes and several snippets of the audio drama. Mostly because I can’t find it. (I’m aware SuiBianSubs have it shared on their discord, but I’m scared of giant servers so I’m holding off on that unless I really can’t find it anywhere else.)
That being said, I really like the audio drama so far. I really, really like WWX’s voice actor here, and you can tell he’s really going ham with it while he was more restricted to match Xian Zhan in CQL.
Anyways the audio drama version of WangXian is the best one don’t @ me.
The Untamed/Chen Qing Ling (Warning: LONG)
Hhhhhh oh CQL, CQL, where do I even start with you?
See, I didn’t like the first one-third of the drama, and took like a month watching those bits, but then basically after WWX became the Yiling Patriarch I got really into it and basically finished like 30+ episodes in 3 days.
I still don’t like several of the changes, and I’m not a fan of some of the directing decisions, because some of them just made little to no sense. I especially hated the fact that WWX wasn’t the founder of demonic cultivation, and instead it was some rando who was probably Xue Yang’s greatX12 grandfather.
All that being said, I actually like the character writing THE MOST out of all the adaptions. Every single (named/significant) character was expanded upon, and it gave basically everyone more depth as characters (except I guess Wen RuoHan and Wen Xu, but no one likes them in CQL anyway so who cares).
Basically, every character just felt so much more alive, and I’m not just saying that because it’s live people on screen. It’s that the actors really did wonderfully, bringing out the characters so vividly, and giving them more depth and building on their relationships. The little moments here and there, like JZX planting lotus plants for JYL There are some moments I’m just EH on (such as the changing of the moral scale for some *cough*MOST*cough* characters), but for the most part, I just found it so much easier to relate and feel for them. And as someone who doesn’t typically like watching live dramas (again, I just prefer anime), that meant a lot to me as a member of the audience.
I especially like how they handled Mianmian, I was EH at first to see her as a member of the Jin Sect, but in the end I really liked that. I mean, who can’t love a bitch who renounces her sect colours right in front of the then-most powerful man in the cultivation world? Also, the soup scene with JZX and JYL, I really liked that it was Mianmian who defended her instead of some nameless, faceless servant girl. It gave her more character, and built nicely on her relationship with JZX as his subordinate. Mianmian in MDZS was great, but she felt little more than a plot device to me. In CQL, she was actually a character, and thus made her actions more significant.
Listen I just have a lot of feelings for Mianmian considering she was the only named female character to survive the series and I have salt about that but I still like her so I’m glad CQL made it easier for me to like her

I think one or two of the reviews I read of this anime picked up the names of each episode are based on movies and it seems they’re right. Namely, episode 1 is Se7en while episode 2 is Reservoir Dogs...so they’re crime movies specifically.
Kanto, Hikari etc. are the names of certain shinkansen.
Playing with your own blood in front of a no violence sign and smoking in front of a no smoking sign…LOL. So edgy and yet simultaneously so fun.

The AnimeLab translation of the title is “Duelling Samurai”, but the translation on the hardsubs is “Rock-Bottom Samurai”. The word donzoko indicates the latter is correct.
I think Leo said “Rei-chan”, not “Rachel”. It’s a bit hard to hear because he’s eating though…
I think there’s only one line where he doesn’t talk like a ninja in his intro to Ayu and that’s the line where he uses keigo instead.
I think the card says “acupuncturist Kawa????” (can’t read the last character due to Britney’s thumb), but…welp, Britney’s kinda disturbing in their (not sure what pronoun to use) own way. There also appears to be an address in Ikebukuro on the card.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Leo learnt how to speak Japanese fluently from ninja movies – that’s a pretty common anime trope, like in Tada-kun’s Rainbow Samurai case. “Always make your heart rainbow!” and all that jazz.

LOL, instead of yokudekimashita (literally, “you did good”) it’s makura ni narimashita (“you made [the book] into a pillow”). The common sentence ending for verbs means it’s funnier in Japanese, I think.

I normally do that, but I picked this anime for an assignment because I knew it had a lot of examples…yes, you heard me right. An assignment! I should be happy, but I’m wondering if my taste is going to get roasted by the normies or if I’ve gone too far with my unabashed love…
I was discussing with some of my peeps in a Discord server and…is it possible MTR will get an ED from here on out if you divide the episodes up for an almost equal amount for each division? We’ll have to wait and see.

This CGI…it’s not the jankiest, but it is gonna bug me ever so slightly.
I’ve noticed a lot of people in the English-speaking fandom, when they watched the anime, took a shine to MTC (because they seem to embody the entire “refuge in audacity” thing they’ve picked up on…plus that one hamster lyric people got attached to). You can see them being all “cop/gangster husbands” here if that’s your gig – it’s kind of my gig, but to be real HypMic is not a scene where I ship dudes. I’m sorry, but I just like watching pretty boys kick butt.

Natsu no mushi = bugs in the summer. Not a perfect match, but it works. (Notably, things like Gentaro’s speech and rap lyrics don’t play by the same yakuwarigo rules because you can play characters within it – e.g. the evil doctor Jakurai sometimes plays. I’ve noticed most of the songs use casual or whatever rhymes, even for someone like Doppo who’s considered more polite than most.)
…Despite the swearing…that song slaps, man! That’s great.
MTC seems to have more tragedy on average than other divisions. This is because FP and BB are quite light-hearted and mostly family-friendly with hidden depths, but MTR mostly has stalker stories. Update: That’s when they’re focussing on MTR solo. FP’s currently could get pretty dark soon and a lot of the dark/tragic stuff is not actually going to make the anime because it’s in the drama tracks/manga.

Okay, I’m not well-versed in yakuza slang but kumicho = boss, so Samatoki would have to answer to a kumicho.

Ah, it did switch! It’s just…uh, gone to an MTC version of itself (and it has the same name, “Kizuna”). So that means we wait another 6 episodes for MTR. On the other hand…what will the final version be? A whole cast version? A different song? No song at all? *shrugs* Only the future can tell us these things. (Also, why is Jyuto so loud…? That’s why I’m not a bigger fan of him. Much like Ramuda’s minna genki?, his iconic quotes like “In the building!” are so loud and silly-sounding, you just can’t get them out of your head.)
The cityscape in the middle of the disc at the ED’s start seems to have changed. I would assume that’s a Yokohama skyline.
Keiichi Nakagawa is the voice of Rentei…I should stop burning myself on guest VA appearances, this guy’s a rookie. This Nouzenkazura VA (Kenji Hamada) though is voiced by the guy who does Otegine in Touken Ranbu and isn’t as much of a rookie as Rentei’s.
Notably, where BB do the “BB sign” (as it seems to be known), MTC do a finger gun. MTR have the wolf fang, but…what is FP’s, then? Update: It’s a peace sign to the side to make an F.
Today’s new music was “Red Zone (Don’t Test da Master)”, by KLOOZ and DJ WATARAI.
*cringes at the airhorn* *briefly presses fingers to forehead, as if going to massage temples, but then removes them* The airhorn reminds me of crazy sport fans. Crazy anime fans are more civil than them, which is one reason why I don’t follow sports on the regular.
Update: Oh! The pond owl cafe in episode 2! It means Ikebukuro!...Sort of. Fukurou rhymes with ‘bukuro and ike = pond.

Hmm? Is it just me or is that T in the code the kanji for “bird” (tori)?
“It’s where I belong.” – I know my reason for pursuing Japanese is a purely selfish reason – so I can stay above others in the topics I think matter to me and pursue the endless natural high that comes from the thrill of translation (which may be all one reason or two, depending on how you look at it).
Oh, the bunny and shark again.
The bunny’s shirt said “life” at one point, I didn’t understand the shark’s though.
At one point, shark: Ka (from “Kansai”), bunny: ken (authority).
At the end, shark: heaven, bunny: hell. These broadcasts look like NHK broadcasts at the end.
Most of these words are katakana, making them look foreign.

That CGI…is not the greatest.
According to Moon Land, gymnastics operates on a deduction/addition system. You add points for difficulty, but deduct points for errors like how Minamino’s feet are apart.
*sees montage* - Those CGI scenes really take out the budget, huh…?
Gymnastics moves are named after their creators…kinda like scientific names and finders.
There was a lot of commentary in Moon Land so I’m not sure what the moves are called from memory (the dialogue always did that for me), but having the reactions speak for themselves…I think the anime team has enough faith the reactions will convey everything. They did, by the way.
You can see the bone at the base of Minamino’s neck, under the skin…it’s sort of scary.
The fact you couldn’t see Jotaro’s eyes for a shot or two…that kind of unnerved me and built tension.
Oh! The men in black appear after the credits!

June 2020 Pond LiveChat Recap - A Male’s Experience of Sex and Fan Fiction Part 1
@manawhaat (Mana) and @superfanficnatural (Mert) led a lively discussion about what it’s like to have a penis and how we can all improve our writing of the male experience! Shortly after Mert first joined, we asked him if he’d be open to answering frank and personal questions about what it’s like to have a penis, since he was our only (known) member to have one. He was enthusiastic to share his experiences and we are grateful he accepted our invitation! In the time we had, we didn’t come close to answering all of the questions that folks wanted to ask, so we will be continuing this discussion in a future live chat event! (If you have questions you would like to see posed, please either send us an ask or send an IM to one of our admins!) Because the most popular questions were specific to the sexual experience and how it is described in fan fiction, we moved the chat to the softcore-nsfw channel in the discord server. If you are a minor, you might want to check with your parents before reading this, as it is a frank and graphic discussion about sex. A rundown of the chat is below the cut!
Q: Mert, can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got involved with fanfic as a dude?
A: Welp not much to me, just an 18 year old penis-owning male that has been reading fanfic for almost three years. I first found out about fanfic from a friend that suggested it to me and ever since I first started reading, I've been obsessed! I didn't start writing until around early April this year, for I was too nervous, but ended up saying to myself, "You know what? There are no male reader fics on here so I'LL write them." Poof, my blog was born!
Q: In joining the fandom and Tumblr what did you see/feel as far as the fans being mostly female?
A: I'd have to say that I wasn't too surprised, but was a bit underwhelmed. While many female-presenting people seem to be attracted to the actors, first, and the story/content of the show second, the few male fans of the show seem to be the opposite. Although I love the show and all kinds of fans, it would be nice to find some other male-presenting gay fans to gossip with about how attractive the actors are. lol
Q: Have you been in any other fandoms that have had more guys present?
A: To be honest, no. Every fandom that I’ve been in was mostly comprised of female-presenting people.
Q: What’s it like being in a space that’s dominated by so many women?
A: I think that it’s a bit intimidating. I don’t share the exact same experiences as female-presenting people, so it makes bonding a bit harder, if that makes sense?
Q: What kinds of things do you think women in fandom could do to help make men - regardless of sexual preference, already in fandom - feel more welcome? We here in the Pond like to be welcoming to fans of all types of people in all fandom spaces, not just in the Pond. How can we make our space less intimidating?
A: In my experience, it depends on the man in question. Straight men are less likely to want to talk about how attractive the actors are, and more likely to be interested in the mechanics of the show. Gay men are more open to frank discussions about both the show and the actors’ appeal. Basically, just be aware of your audience and how invested in your conversation they seem to be, like you would be with anyone.
Q: Can you describe the sensations behind having a penis, and how it feels during oral sex?
A: Oral sex feels like a warm, heated blanket being wrapped around the penis, depending on how the giver hollows their cheeks or not, Usually, the penis isn’t very sensitive during oral sex, which is why porn is really fake. If the giver uses their tongue, then the stimulation around the tip of the head is what causes pleasure. The head is really the only sensitive part of the penis.
Q: So, emphasis on licking and sucking on the head is key, and deep throating is extra?
A: Playing with the balls, fondling them, or sucking on them is VERY pleasurable. Deep throating is hot, but mostly because of how the back of the throat constricts around the head of the penis. Like I said, playing with the head is the best way to tease. In fact, if it’s a male with a beard doing the giving, rubbing their stubble across the head is EXTREMELY pleasurable.
Q: So, just sucking on the tip alone, like a popsicle or lollipop, would give a man the most pleasure?
A: It is very pleasurable, but not quite enough to bring a man to orgasm. Men jerk from the base when masturbating because of the backwards and forwards motion. Think of it like a gear. The back and forth powers the gear, making the machine begin to work, and eventually leading to orgasm.
Q: The arousal and pleasure need to be built up, then. Sucking and stroking together with some fondling on the side if deep throating isn’t an option?
A: Yes. If you can’t take it to the base, just use your hand for the remaining amount and go back and forth at the same pace as your mouth. Fondling isn’t completely necessary, though it is very pleasurable.
Q: What is one thing you wish more women knew/writers would write about in terms of the male experience?
A: As a reader, it would be nice to have more writers writing about the male experience at all. The majority of writers and readers are women, though, so it makes sense that the majority of stories would be focused on the female experience, so I can’t complain.
For those who are interested in writing more from the male’s point of view, adding more description about how everything feels would be good. For example, when describing the female orgasm and arousal, there are all kinds of metaphors, like the string snapping and fires burning. Those things are representations of the orgasm and that same build up applies to men, too. Then when it finally releases, the feeling of an orgasm cuts off their breathing, even for just a second. We feel it in our toes, and can almost feel the semen transition from the testicles to the penis. Some men like to continue jerking off or thrusting through their orgasm until it becomes too sensitive and some men prefer to stop. Generally, our hips will thrust forward with each shot, but that’s not all the time or every male.
Think of it like breathing. Each shot of ejaculate is so powerful to the man that it's like during those shots, we only have the time to take mini gasps because we are so out of breath (once more, not all the time, and not every man). Pre-ejaculate does not always leak out of our tip; it's basically the equivalence of women getting wet. If we are hard long enough and it is straining, then pre-ejaculate will eventually begin to leak out. Yes, it is also possible for more pre-ejaculate to leak out DURING intercourse, though it is hardly noticeable due to the heavy amounts of wetness everywhere and they all mingle together and yeah.
Onto the prostate. It is possible for men to orgasm without stimulation to their penis. The stimulation of our prostate for a long period of time can lead to an orgasm, regardless of if they are jerking or not, also kind of like women who can orgasm without clit stimulation (though difficult).
Q: Do any of the stories you’ve read that women have written come close to the male experience of an orgasm?
A: I haven’t been able to read much M/M fan fiction, but most of them have been written by women, so they aren’t able to go deep into how it feels. All they can describe are the actions taken to get to the climax and what that looks like, which is understandable. But what “pleasure” are they feeling exactly when they orgasm? That is shown in a lot of female experiences and showing it in the man’s experience is one of the focuses I want to address and give answers to with this chat.
Q: Can you describe it for us, then? What are the sensations that happen in orgasm? Is it a whole body shiver? Is it the penis twitching slightly as the orgasm hits?
A: The whole body can convulse just like a woman can, though it’s more of a strong tingle than a whole body rock, depending on how strong the orgasm is. Also, the penis does twitch and swell, and usually when men “flex” their penis, the head grows in size slightly.
Q: How does that tingle spread, and how fast does it spread?
A: Think of the orgasm like the ocean. Wave after wave. When a man is about to orgasm, they know, much like for women. Every stroke gets them closer and they get to a point where they know how many more strokes it will take.
Q: Does the pleasure then spread from the penis out to the rest of the body?
A: It’s actually kind of the opposite. In the beginning, there is a tingle through the whole body. It’s like the nerves in the whole body pulse in the direction of the penis. Then, when it gets released, it’s like a bomb. The nerves in the penis fire off and it slowly spreads back throughout the body.
Q: For some women, it starts in the vagina and radiates outward, but it sounds like for men, it starts outward and radiates to the penis.
A: Yes! And when ejaculation starts, it all reverses back out into the body. (This information is not exactly the same for every single man on earth, but probably pertains to a large percentage. All men are different as all women are different. This is my experience though.)
Q: Does that mean that outside stimulation, like playing with nipples, scratching thighs, etc, would help a man orgasm more quickly as that outside stimulation radiates pleasure toward the penis?
A: Yes. This is why in porn, one person might suck on the neck of the other to add to the influx of pleasure and make the climax feel better. One reason why men love getting their backs scratched up is because that slight pain morphs into pleasure and it helps get closer to orgasm, much like women when their nipples are pinched.
Q: Can we follow up on the breathing thing? Are you physically incapable of breathing during each wave of climax? Or is it more like a winded feeling? Or is it more like the entire brain/body is so overloaded with pleasure that it’s just not on the top of the priority list?
A: It depends on the strength of the orgasm. We can breathe, it’s just not a focus.
Q: Can you pass out?
A: No, but you can be exhausted afterwards and fall asleep.
Q: Do you get blurred vision or anything like that?
A: No blurred vision, but it’s very common to squeeze your eyes shut.
Q: Do sensations change based on the strength of the orgasm?
A: They do.
Q: Is grunting really a thing that happens, or is that just in porn?
A: Yes, grunting can happen. Either it’s so hard that breathing gets cut off, or it’s so pleasurable that you groan or grunt out in pleasure.
Q: Do you come harder if you haven’t done it for a couple of days?
A: Much like some women, the longer we go without orgasm, the easier it is to climax (at least in my case).
