Propaganda:
For Vanoe: "vanitas promised his canon love interest, as a romantic gesture, that if she started to become a monster, he would kill her so she wouldn't have to suffer. and then later when discussing how vanitas will eventually turn into a monster himself, he said he wants noe to kill him when that time comes. pretty yuri. also i'm a lesbian and i like them"
"Idk they have such a homoerotic shoujo manga dynamic but they're guys. Or maybe not that much but you gotta admit this would be exquisite yuri if they were girls. Noé the gothic romance heroine etc etc"
For Wenzhou: "Basically in their family unit Wen Kexing is the wife but Zhou Zishu is the mom. Also there are lots of genderbends of them around but the best ones are those where Wen Kexing goes super hard on femme but Zhou Zishu deadass has the same personality and appearance - like shoutout to those artists/writers u r the real ones. Also lesbian Zishu still being called "husband" by Wen Kexing, mwah chef's kiss! He would SO be a butch."
"Wen Kexing is compared to a wife twice in the show and at least once in the book iirc. Canon malewife + wears red eyeshadow and rocks a red robe in his Ghost Valley Master getup + his husband is an emo assassin, they are so incredibly yuri even if they're guys"
For Ineffable Husbands: "Well due to neil mentioning that they was plans for a fem presenting 1960s scene of the two of them that never ended up happening, there's a lot of fanart of that. Plus, they are an angel and a demon, and both technically don't follow the gender rules of humans and many other species on earth, so while they do present very masculine throughout the show, they could be any gender and therefore they seem very fitting for this.(I do apologize as I don't quite understand what guy Yuri is despite your definition so I am guessing and have no clue if they count."
"Looks like m/m on first glance but they don't actually really have gender and Crowley dresses as a woman for a good few years canonically"
"theyre male presenting in the show but they dont really have gender so they could be wlw if they wanted to"
"While both characters spend most of their time presenting as male, they are supernatural beings without any real sex or gender. Crowley appears as a woman multiple times, and one scrapped scene included both Aziriphale and Crowley as women in the 1960s. Additionally, it’s very common to find “Ineffable Wives” fanworks, with both characters appearing as women. As well as having been an immensely popular fandom ship for many years, it has been confirmed that Aziriphale and Crowley are canonically in love with each other."
"Regularly turned into women in fanart. Both Aziraphale and Crowley are incredibly gender. They have been together in some sort of way for 6000 years. Heavy yearning. Cringefail. Divorced and married at the same time. Literally an angel and a demon. What more could you want?"
"theyre literally genderless and can be anything ever!!!"
"Their genders are ineffable and they have hopelessly pined for centuries"

Summary:
“You are, from what I’ve gathered so far, one of the most famous legends from where you came from”, Wen Kexing said with not an ounce of wonder in his voice, matter-of-factly. “I happen to have a tumultuous background, so to speak”, he winked quickly, “and also a husband who enjoys way too much sending me off to deal with the city’s matters, and I think he would be delighted if I showed him just what I found this time. What do you think about being my guest for sharing stories over food and wine, from one legend to another?"
Or, Wei Wuxian is far from home and meets a white haired beauty who wants a new friend.

Hello! This crossover happened because I love all these characters so much and I wanted them to meet. Basically.
It’s complete, but there will be an explicit sequel coming up shortly with Lan Zhan as well!

hanwenzhou thought of the day (and @deepestbluesky, stop me if me jumping in on your thing becomes more annoying than fun 💖): modern-era with spies, mr and mrs smith au almost but bear in mind I haven't watched mr and mrs smith in ages. wenzhou are the mr and mrs smith and han ying is the guy from zzs's agency who risks it all to warn them that they're both being hunted down after their failure to kill each other, and inevitably gets dragged into their shenanigans (and marriage). mostly because I think the fight scene between mr and mrs smith would fuck severely with wenzhou and because I love hanwenzhou teaming up to wreck shit and then fucking off into oblivion together. I don't have more thots yet so standing invitation for anyone who does to add on to this <3

Dislike how explicit bls have made it so its not a bl unless two men are ripping each others clothes off and fucking on every available surface in my opinion a true bl is where the symbolism is in how they drink their wine, if they talk about the red thread of fate, if flowers fall from the sky when they meet, and in how their hands brush one (1) time in episode 26
#kinnporsche has nothing on lwj and wwx on the steps of koi tower actually#and certainly its got nothing on wenzhou linking hands and drinking wine like theyre at their wedding#like okay they had sex. and what?#where are the memorable lines the way lwjs eyes tell you everything hes thinking the way wheb wkx says wife u know he means zzs is husband#like#this might be me being demi but can we go back to subtext i dont actually want to see some dude try to jack kinn off under a table with his#feet#i just want that 'subtlety' free had when they had rin do the anime girl love interest turn when haru professed his undying love#and i want the flirtation through poetry bc no one can say outright that they are flirting#also tian guan ci fu live action and s2 when i loved that#sharing bedrolls cleaning houses together the husband symbolism in ep 1#excellent brilliant#link click? two guys living together going mad when ones in danger the tsundere one and the cutesy one !!!#what im getting at is i dont mind sexy scenes so long as theyre there for a reason and not just fanservice#and yes wwx shoving a sword up his ass did nothing for plot or symbolism BUT but we got a good 300 pages of pining BEFORE he did that#and when i see edits of mdzs its always the really loving scenes between them#but when i see kinnporsche edits its just them fucking ive seen way too much of those 2 men making out#and i dont like it#where is the emotional substance#like yeah we know wenzhou spent the rest of their days in that cave fucking like rabbits#but also we got 36 episodes and like 5 deaths at least out of it#like before you get to the sex#build up a good plot and good characters#idk#i miss old bls i guess i miss when bl meant boys LOVE not bloys LOVEMAKING is that so much to ask for

Their first "meeting" is them killing a guy together with HJC doing the murder and Kou Tong over the comms helping him figure out which guy is the guy they need to kill. The comms cut after the fighting starts, and then basically a minute later HJC calls Kou Tong back with "Let me just ask, handsome, can you tell me your personal contact information?"  Then when they meet for real its soooo bad (affectionate). My favorites were Huang Jinchen embarrassing Kou Tong in front of his dead mom (long story) to pay him back for teasing him, and Kou Tong replying to Huang Jinchen asking him out with "whatever there is to discuss, we'll discuss in bed". Theyre such clowns

I was thinking about the ranking of ‘canon’ ships on how believable I would find it for them to get together very quickly in fanfiction. Specifically if they have never met before.
So from quickest to slowest I have-
WenZhou from Word of Honor! You get Zhou Zishu and Wen Kenxing in a room together then they are flirting in the first ten minutes, dating in an hour, have had a massive fight and broken up in two hours, gotten back together in three hours and then married the next day.
BingYuan (Luo Bingge/Shen Yuan) from SVSSS is a tricky one to place on here, but I do think it’s relatively fast. Even without knowing SY is the SQQ that he liked so much, LBG is really good at getting people to marry him lol.
BingQiu from SVSSS is only below BingYuan because 1) I think LBG just has a little more charisma than LBH, gained from getting so many wives while LBH was too focused on Shizun and 2) it’s hard to have this ship where they didn’t know each other prior? I do think this ship, to be different enough from BingYuan for this list, needs to be SQQ(Y) and not just plain SY. But even still, I think once Binghe gets past SQQ’s ‘I’m not gay just an immortal cultivator!’ Then they get together so quickly.
MoShang from SVSSS is in the middle here because either they take 20 years of their life or they are dating on day two. No in between.
HuaLian from TGCF is a funny case. I think Hua Cheng falls in love instantly, even faster than any Binghe. And maybe Xie Lian also falls in love instantly- they both kinda strike me as ‘love at first sight’. Now, do they act on these feelings? Absolutely not. Neither wants to bother the other about it until something makes them. (EDIT: I switched HuaLian and WangXian!)
WangXian from MDZS is a funny one because they are the only normal one. If you push them to together long enough, they will just… start to date. Because niether are weirdly obsessed with the other? (Or at least, not as much lol) (EDIT: After much thought, the idea that WangXian would not get together without a plot to drive them got brought up, and without that, they would in fact be last! So I switched HuaLian and WangXian)
I might add more Ships later, if I think of them. Give me your thoughts on the rankings, and your arguments on where they should be placed.
EDIT: Ok, I asked some friends in real life and no one agreed with me. I know when it admit defeat! I switched HuaLian and WangXian, but I will keep everything else the same.

Okay I'm in chapter 141 and:
1. We still don't have a clear answer for why Fei Du ended up not like his dad. By Fei Du's own explained logic he would've been fine with the cruelty, and while he was impacted by his mom thinking if you can't be free you can die, and he Did feel controlled by his dad and then by extension under threat of the Crime Organization... that implies he does want freedom (or to die getting it for himself/others trapped by that organization). That still doesn't answer why he dislikes his own urge to harm others, to think a cruel act is fine if logical, to such an extent that he tried to condition himself with pain to Be Repulsed by those urges of his.
Luo Wenzhou contemplated silently a few chapters back and certainly WONDERS about that, rationally given fei dus background, why fei du is as kind as he is (which is still not Great on the scale as much as his Bravery is) given his upbringing. Luo Wenzhou can't determine why fei du turned out different and when he started changing. I would personally have guessed, 100 chapters ago, it was Tao Ran and Luo Wenzhou's influence on Fei Du as a teen in combination with them being more like "freedom" compared to the cage that was his father's grip on him.
But now that we've heard Fei Du's actual pov of his teen years, he saw a lot of it as using Luo Wenzhou as a means to an end, make trouble for dad. And get close to Tao Ran for fathers approval, to have a cop in his pocket if needed. Now we know Fei Du probably is glossing over the CLEAR attachment he got to those men. Since for all crushing on Tao Ran is shallow if not Entirely an act, by the novel start Fei Du is already clearly emotionally tied to Luo Wenzhou. All the years of scolding fei du, yelling at him for being a brat, treating him like a normal child, etc have MADE Luo wenzhou feel like "home" to fei du. As much as his mom felt like home, or more. To the point Fei Du copies Luo Wenzhous flirting and does it to Tao Ran, which makes Luo Wenzhou competitively flirt to Tao Ran more, which makes Luo Wenzhou TALK TO FEI DU more again.
Even though presumably after fei chengyus coma, Luo wenzhou had to at least wonder if fei du did it to his dad, and fei du knows Luo wenzhou thought it Enough to lash out and say "maybe I did, I'd love to kill him" to Luo wenzhou. Fei Du must've somehow developed a close bond to Luo Wenzhou, despite himself, by the time he reached adulthood. Cause he was desperate by then to find a way to keep them bumping into each other's lives. He'd certainly claim it was the plan, to infiltrate the police. But a lot of it, truly, was genuinely seeing Luo wenzhou as Important as his mom. And wanting to either get Luo wenzhous open acceptance and be let into "home" (what he wanted from mom based on his convo with He Zhongyi's mom), or Luo wenzhous rejection and therefore Luo wenzhou "escaping fei du and his manipulating plot" and being free (saved from him and safe - unlike Fei dus mom).
So like... yes to some degree by adulthood, Luo Wenzhou had impacted him enough to at least somewhat influence Fei Du's morals. Even if only in potentially a very shallow way of "I'll adjust enough to Not Harm him too bad, cause I don't want him harmed like mom was." Which certainly tempered Fei Du's plot and probably was why no one had died in his plot YET, cause once they started dying from his plans, then it would definitely "hurt" Luo wenzhou and shatter any potential trust they had. Which fei du at the start of novel, based on talk with therapist bai, fei du wanted to preserve that "home" of trust he had with Luo wenzhou even if it was shallow, as long as he could until his plot inevitably destroyed it and caused life to change.
But I think outside of Luo Wenzhou maybe there was still more to fei du's moral compass shifting as a teen to adult? Like... something made fei du decide to find victims of the crime organization and collect them for his own agents. It was practical, and potentially cold hearted, and he IS a good manipulator. But was he really such a good liar as to convince them he wanted revenge to help them SO much as to convince them to be willing to die for his plan?
I think he genuinely does want revenge for those people. I think the comment in an early chapter someone makes of fei du, that he really looks so INTENSE as to want to take justice into his own hands as a vigilante and maybe even murder in revenge for a victims sake. I think that's overall closer to the truth than not. Fei Du wants revenge for those people's sake, truly. He wants to also destroy the organization as revenge for his mom and people like her, trapped with no way to escape the harm. He sees the Crime Org as a super harmful entity even other murderers like fei chengyu can't escape, and fei du thinks being trapped is A Horrible Harm cause of what it did to his mother. SO of course he wants to destroy an org that can even trap someone as rich and powerful as fei chengyu.
I just. Wonder what made fei dus morals shift.
2. In retrospect now that I'm almost done with the novel? Fei Du is REALLY babyfied by Luo Wenzhou's pov in especially earlier novel bits. When we saw early Fei Du novel pov, sure it's misleadingly surface level. But we know fei du disassociates and emotionally numbs a lot, follows a logical act for many situations, so his pov wouldn't necessarily often reveal his true feelings or fears. It's not until late novel as he emotionally opens for luo wenzhou that he also does for us. But Luo wenzhous outside pov of fei du? Well. So much. For starters, in retrospect now we KNOW he suspected the whole time Fei Du was infiltrating the police, manipulating the investigations, up to something. And his own pov just willfully ignored it. Did NOT want to face it. Sure he'd think of fei du as a devil but only like a mean kitty scratching you, he'd refuse to seriously contemplate too long on fei dus truly terrifying moments or suspicious ones.
Luo wenzhou avoided confronting certain weak points, preferring to keep fei du close to Monitor rather than pushing SO hard fei du runs away cause he was almost exposed. Luo wenzhou pushes, but he Knows his fei du well. Well enough to try and delude himself, to push but not enough to make their lives change horribly the way they might if fei dus crimes come out. He really Does already love fei du unconditionally like his own child by then. He loves him so utterly unconditionally he keeps treating a grown man with eons of money and power and a potential assassination attempt of his own father lashing out like su luozhan like he's still a harmless teenager.
Luo Wenzhou treats NONE of their murder suspects as nice as fei du, as much as Nonthreatening mundane normal people as fei du, even though most of the murder suspects act quite like fei du. Su luozhan is very close to how fei du was as a teen, and Luo Wenzhou knows that. Fei Dus worse now, being an adult fully responsible for threats he makes. Fei Du is like that lawyer in the coldness toward others, fei du only thinks it's pathetic he's sloppy, fei dus difference is in the desire for revenge he has for rhe poor kid caught in the murderers way. Fei du is like the Wei teen, with a dad maybe even worse, with the same fake behavior fei du puts on a more refined version of. But Luo wenzhou doesn't treat him the same. And you get the impression in first third of the novel almost as if in Luo wenzhous eyes fei du is still a bratty punk teenager rebelling, but a mundane ordinary good intentioned one. Not like the murderers. And then as Luo wenzhou mentally acknowledges fei du is an adult, an equal, he's still mentally viewed more like Tao Ran a partner PLUS a bratty child.
Luo Wenzhou really diminishes the threat of Fei Dus actual self a LOT in his pov. Maybe cause it's hard to justify the unconditional love when it's not toward a child who you can still raise to Stop killing later, to stop copying adults and Blame their actions on their upbringing. Instead fei du is an adult and the second half of the novel is interesting in how Luo wenzhous pov TRULY shifts post fei dus confession of all the lies. Finally having to view fei du for who he actually is.
And still, it's clear in actions Luo wenzhou still diminishes the Threat of fei du mentally. He still tends to think of him as the little brat, raised bad but good intentioned just unlearned. But then also the equal who was honest with him, who he holds the hand of for emotional support. And much more awareness now that he spends his life trying to truly understand fei du, VERY aware now in his pov how much he doesn't actually know. How much he did willfully pretend didn't matter, but needs to acknowledge now and in future.
