One day (once MC and the RO are in a relationship), maybe for Prom if you want, MC says they want to have a make over like in the movies and ask the RO for help. Would they help MC with this Cinderella moment? Or would they think it's stupid, they are pretty as they are, so why do anything?
And what if MC had a makeover without the help of the RO's, changed their wardrobe and hairstyle, and now they look their best?
Imre would dress them, apply mc and do their hair but he would make sure mc still looks like mc. If mc did that by themself, he would think they look beautiful but that they always look beautiful
Nia would think mc is being insane, they’re pretty and it’s stupid for people to be pressured to “be beautiful” on account on what society dictates. She’ll help them get ready, and groom themself but the aim isn’t to remake mc just to make them look presentable. If mc did it to themself, Nia would think they’re pretty but now has to change her planned outfit to match mc’s which annoys her
Lorcan doesn’t know how to do any of that and tells mc not to ask him because if he tries he’ll make them look worse. If mc did it themself it would be like one of those movie scenes in slow motion as his drag drops when mc walks in

Thinking about how so much of what we call beautiful and attractive is just proximity to white European features and figures. I think a decolonized understanding of beauty necessarily wouldnt allow for any universal standards. Ideally, there should be no premium put on attractiveness. Failing that, however, it would be real nice if whatever arbitrates the concept of beauty didn't involve simply hating your racial and ethnic origins.
I'm not particularly evolved in that area myself. I still find fair skin, light eyes, slim figures and sharp features much more appealing. However, I do find stick thin white women unattractive as hell. For now, as a proud South Asian woman with child-bearing hips, I call that praxis.

terfs in the replies are writing off this horrific incident and even trying to defend this kind of outburst because “this wouldn’t have happened if trans women never tried to use women’s bathrooms!”
that’s not the point. the point is this is far from the first time this has happened, and it won’t be the last. the point is this kind of reaction isn’t just hurting trans women, but it’s making cis women who don’t fit your idea of traditional white western femininity feel unsafe.
you can’t write this off as ‘collateral damage’ when you’re hurting the very people you claim you’re trying to protect. i thought you cared about cis women? that’s why you’re doing all this right? to protect them? but how many times has this reaction actually kept someone safe from a predator pretending to be a woman? now compare that to the amount of times your rhetoric has hurt innocent and vulnerable women.
so who’s actually being hurt here? is it you, because someone who might be a trans woman wanted to pee? or is it other women, who just wanted to use a public restroom in peace but couldn’t because you harassed them? those women are now scared and insecure that they look too masculine to be treated with human decency. is it really worth it?

Got called creepy by an anon today, not sure how to feel about that other than possibly validated(?)
Either way anon, if you're reading this please
It's spelled "really" not "rlly".
Could've been a typo in your haste to send anon hate but autocorrect is still a feature.. so like... Try harder I guess.

yknow, it’s no big deal. But whenever Marinette’s transforms into Lady Noir, the peach tinge in her skin will always bother me.
I mean as it is, her eyes are blue, her hair is blue, and many other things that seem trivial like she doesn’t know a lick of Chinese despite her mum literally having changed her name to Sabine from her Chinese name. Or that her eyes are big and round. Like okay, sure, not all of us have mono lids. I have double eyelids too.
She’s Eurasian, literally half Chinese half European.
Maybe we can get more of Marinette embracing her Chinese roots more? Maybe learn her Chinese name or something. I mean I’m Eurasian too, my grandma’s Chinese. I may not have my Chinese name on my birth certificate, and it may have been given to me by my primary school teacher, but I’ll always appreciate that I do have a Chinese name.
I don’t know. It just would be nice. Wishful thinking? It would be nice for someone with no knowledge of Miraculous to randomly watch an episode and immediately catch on that Mari’s Chinese without having to hear her surname

Yes I am staunchly anti plastic surgery (minus necessary = medical/pain/trans reasons) unless you're trying to look more like a freak. But normally it's just about looking more to the patriarchy's standards and not only is that harmful to women's (and men's but lbr it's mainly women) self-image it's lame as hell.
