Thanks to how much of a naive dork she was in season 1, with her constant social anxiety and overall cluelessness, it's easy to dismiss Suletta as this sheltered cinnamon roll who's a brilliant pilot but kind of useless at everything else, and without her comfort zone she would go to pieces.

And it's true: after losing everything she had built her life around (and rather cruelly at that), she did have a breakdown, and she did spend a while in a depressed state. Who wouldn't?

But the thing people tend to forget is that she spent her whole life working as part of crisis and rescue teams in the Mercurian mines! She's used to acting during an emergency! She's seen death! And she knows what to do to help others! So once she has her feet under her and the school finds itself in crisis, she's the one who steps up and immediately starts helping people and continues to do so during the recovery efforts, staying calm and helpful when everyone else is on the verge of collapse. Because that's the kind of person that she is.

Meanwhile, Miorine, who was always portrayed as the smarter, more worldly wise of the two, finds herself in a similar crisis and just falls apart completely.

And that's not a knock on Miorine either! But it does go to show how initial impressions can be deceiving, and one person's strength is another's weakness. For much of the first season when it was all about social situations and corporate skullduggery, we were in Miorine's world. But now that things have gotten violent and people are dying, we find ourselves in Suletta's.
