The Wayward Guide to Sleepy Hollow: Chapter 2

“What can I do for you?” Matilda asked again. “Need a spell? Poultice? Tarot card reading?”

A shudder seized Paul, and he instinctively covered his face. “NO! Bad cards!”

Matilda stared at him, doing a double-take. Tilting her head as if trying to puzzle him out. “Huh… Bad experience with tarot?”

“You could say that,” Artemis muttered.

“Hm.” She seemed to come to a conclusion about Paul, then switched back to customer mode. “Well, while I think I could change your mind, I won’t push.” She pulled out something from under the counter. “What about crystals? We’re having a sale.” She spread a set of multicolored crystals out in front of them.

“Actually, we’re here for information,” Artemis said, taking out her recorder. “Artemis Schue-Horyn, this is my brother, Paul.”

Paul straightened up, trying to look professional. “We’re podcasters.”

Artemis gave him a side-eye. “Investigative journalists... who publish our work as podcasters, yes.”

Matilda’s customer-ready smile dimmed. “And you’re here for?”

Artemis clicked the RECORD button. “A few months ago, Devlyn Versace, a Platinum-level Youtube influencer and professional prankster, dies in a horrific – and public—skydiving  accident.”

Paul cut in dramatically with, “One week later, she shows up on livestream here in Sleepy Hollow – and creates a killer viral remix video – all in one day, only to vanish.” Paul simulated a “poof!” with his hands.

“Yet what remains of her body – sans head – is still in her grave, on the other side of the state.”

“Some said it was her final prank! But we think something stranger might have happened.”

Artemis held the recorder closer to Matilda. “Thoughts?”

Matilda glowered. “What, you think just because I’m a witch I had something to do with it? Very original.”

“No!” Paul stepped in, taking on the personal relations role, as always. “No, we only wanted your expertise. You’re a local, you know magic. If something weird did happen, we figured you might have heard something. But we understand your concern.”

“Although, if you weren’t involved,” Artemis asked, eye brow raised, “then how come we saw you in the livestream?”

Yeah I know Wayward Guide took forever to complete but I feel like they really got better with Kickstarters after that lol. I mean the This Could Be On Broadway kickstarter got completely finished in less than a year. The Solve It Squad thing is supposed to be in November and then go to YouTube next year apparently. (Ok actually I don't really know why the WG kickstarter made you fall off so idk if it was just the length or something else but still lol.)

my issue w the wg Kickstarter was communication— there were times where we didn’t know if wg was still coming or where things were and it was just super frustrating

like I wouldn’t have had an issue w the length if they would just. send out the backer updates that they promised lol

If we ever get a Wayward Guide season 2 do you think Paul being a werewolf is going to be a major plot point or just an inconvenience he has to deal with? Because he doesn't have Connor Creeks unique defenses anymore, so it's not like they can just ignore the matter. Surely that's going to be a problem for him.
