I drew another space ship! 🚀

I’ve been trying to come up with a cool design for Capt. Monty’s ship ever since I came up with my first design for it a couple of years ago. I wanted something that looked like a marine animal, and my first idea was to make it look like a fish. I wasn’t really happy with the fish design, so I’ve been trying to look for all kinds of different inspirations to draw from.

So, here’s an iteraction that I’m trying based on a blue whale design.

I’m also trying to incorporate design elements from my first iteration, just to stay consistent.

What do you guys think?

I hope you guys enjoy!

Orca

A watercolour orca (black and white dolphin-like whale). It is surrounded with open blue ocean which has a desaturated effect to make it look a bit grey and cold.

I just watched the new David Attenborough documentary on Netflix : A Life On Our Planet. It honestly really got to me and I did start crying at one point when seeing the predictions for the next 80 years if we don’t change course. I can’t get into all my feelings right now, but I have been looking for ways to be more sustainable (not easy during covid and in general as a student). But I’m definitely gonna cut back on meat, and plastic if I can. (We need to make waste free shops more accessible! They shouldn’t be an expensive option for upper middle class people to judge people on!). Anyway I’m feeling upset I cant do anything about it right now, so I did a painting. I’m not super happy with it but it’s noce to get back into art.

Unedited version (the blue is too happy a colour for my mood right now)
