every time someone I know reads A Coalition of Lions for the first time, I have to reread A Coalition of Lions. It's a law of physics or something. just finished “portrait of a thief” and wow… i love this style of writing and ok more than that GODDAMN all of these characters are so relatable particularly lily, bc she was born and raised in america and so is constantly grappling w what it means to be asian-american when you always feel disconnected from both and yet too distinctly both. also i fucking KNEW alex and irene were going to happen i knew it from the start.

                    when I was a kid and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I used to say that I wanted to be a dog groomer. in retrospect, my child self was dumb because I have a slight fear of dogs    (  and by that, I mean big dogs  )    and I’m pretty sure most of it was just fueled by the fact that I really wanted a dog when I was younger. like, before I was cat person, I was such a dog person. shocker, I know.
