ok whatever cassian/din thoughts. whatever

its interesting to me that cassian dies at 25 and din is approximately in his late 30s during the events of the mandalorian. i think that them meeting at those ages due to the fuckery of time travel would be interesting because din lives after the fall of the empire during the new republic era... but is not at all interested in the differences of the before and after, past what it means for his covert (and mandalorians in general). like his whole character during the mandalorian is him having to GET involved with the politics of the era to save the child/his friends....

he is similar to cassian in a lot of ways, especially in the way that cassian was at first uninterested in fighting the empire, wanting to just mostly stick to his own lane and what he knows and take what he can get for himself and family. anyway, i like the idea of becoming-radicalized cass meeting din and then immediately trying to get on the guy's good side to convert him to the rebellion. cassian is a pretty quick study in rebellion, which i think means that he would pick up on din's skills as a warrior, tracker, survivalist, etc and immediately try to recruit this guy to the cause because of what he could bring in. grogu's secret jedi/mandalorian? status and dins (SOMEWHAT APPROXIMATE) knowledge of the future would only make it more interesting i think. kind of like this:

cassian, guy who just got saved: you should come with us! im not saying that you have to go all the way, but you've got some talent, and the rebellion would easily shell out a few hundred thousand credits for a handful of jobs escorted by a man of your skills

din, guy who just wants to go home, increasingly aware of the fact that he is over 10 years in the past: uh no i think i left the oven on at home actually. also i hope we never see each other again. goodbye
